SEASON 2 SPOILERS

Did some research on rhino horn cause I was curious.

According to Google the drug came on the scene in 2012 (but had existed long before that) and “is made up of keratin.”

Rhino Horn connects to China, according to two sources:

“According to traditional Chinese texts, such as Li Shih-chen's 1597 medical text “Pen Ts' ao Kang Mu”, rhino horn has been used in Chinese medicine for more than 2,000 years and is used to treat fever, rheumatism, gout, and other disorders.”

”For centuries, rhino horn has been used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) to treat a wide variety of illnesses”

And Vietnam:

“The belief in Vietnam is that drinking a tonic made from the horn will detoxify the body after a night of heavy boozing, and prevent a hangover” so “users aren’t getting high”

Soooooo maybe Ed has been having nights of crying and drinking and the rhino horn refreshes him? Idk it seems like it makes him unhinged actually, like Hornigold. It does have “adverse effects.” Or it could probably be DJ putting his own spin on it.

So like what made DJ chose that? I assume because of the Chinese influence he is weaving through season 2. Tbh I’d do so just because of the name. Totally fits.

Part of the reason I researched rhino horn was to see if it caused withdrawals? I couldn’t find anything on a surface level google search. It doesn’t seem like it is quite a drug drug like I was thinking

But either way…did Ed go through withdrawal that quickly? It was just one night? I doubt it…but if rhino horn is that type of drug in this word…I kinda hope we see him going through withdrawal and recovery as a part of his healing because who knows how long he was using.

Also also, apparently there is a myth that it was considered an aphrodisiac.

Annnnnnd apparently rhino horn is considered a “status drug” and I’m not even going to go into how they get the substance cause I’ll make myself cry. But the implication fits with the toxicity of Ed in the first 3 episodes.

Sorry if this gift is late, I already had this piece finished. But my artsy-big-brain thought to make a special bonus to the birthday girl, so here’s a potential outline for this Muslim!Frans AU, let’s call it RahmaTale for now.

* The AU takes place somewhere in Malaysia. Since I head-canon Frisk as Southeast Asian (for me, Filipino) and this Frisk practices Islam openly, Malaysia is good place as it’s 61% Muslim.

* Monsters were already freed several years ago and have been living among humans for sometime now. However, the monster don’t have many rights and options to succeeded. This is out of fear of monster’s ability for magic which is profoundly restricted to use unless otherwise.

* Among the limited rights to monsters is getting an education among humans. Monsters are educated, but can’t go to public school (and some cases college) with humans. There are some exceptions to monsters, but they’re mostly the rich ones.

* With some pushback of the monsters and a few humans that support them, the government finally allowed monsters to go to public school among humans.

* Frisk’s school, which is known to be highly intelligent and innovative, is one of the first schools to accept monsters if they pass a difficult test that human students are also given.

I’m leaving it to that since I would like Shorukarts to also be able to add some things. For example, how maybe Frisk and Sans meet and interact with one other. In addition, I may not know what are some inside Muslim customs that the internet can’t find to tell me. But some other notes are that both Undertale and Deltarune characters are here as shown by little Kris’s appearance. Kris is Frisk’s nephew while Chara is Frisk’s best friend. Chara doesn’t go to the same school as Frisk, but they regularly hangout, often when Frisk is babysitting Kris. Also Chara has a huge distrust for monsters and always warns Frisk about them if not more than Frisk’s mother.

Thoughts on a Kazuichi/Mahiru date and how it would go?

I'm not sure! I think an activity might be the way to go as opposed to just like going to a cafe and talking the whole time, I think Kazuichi would really benefit from having something else to focus on so he doesn’t get too in his head. But probably not too competitive because I think Mahiru might get frustrated if Kaz is under performing. Painting mugs might be their best bet! That or something else where they each working on their own thing but doing it together.

Wenzel had to admit that the influx of new blood to the beach had brought some perks. Such as the house he had been gifted by Emre, the expanded farm (even if that came with the loss of the tobacco field), and, of course, the media library. The world had changed rapidly while Wenzel had been a part of it, and after he had come to the island, the world hadn't ceased expanding, growing more awe-some and hideous and beautiful. And all Wenzel had to experience it was the small collection of books in the library.

Apparently libraries were redundant. Who needed a library when telephones (that people carried around (?) in their pockets (?)) had an invention called the internet on it, which was a sort of encyclopaedia. It was a ridiculous notion, Wenzel still couldn't figure it out. His best bet was that the Internet was the name for some Kummerkastentante who they called on their tiny telephones that apparently did not need wires. It all sounded like a type of mass hallucination to Wenzelslaus.

Give him books any day. Wenzel lost himself in the pleasure of looking over the small shelf of books, steering clear of the electronics on the opposite wall. Yes, he was curious, but his curiosity was the sort where he wanted to break apart the tiny electronic things and see how they fitted the wires inside, which would inevitably lead him to being unable to realign the wires inside. His fingers traced the well-worn spines of the Lord of the Rings series, no, he could not reread his beloved series for the thousandth time. His finger stopped at the spine of an unfamiliar book. Wenzel pulled out the book, Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, just as someone else entered the library.

"Ah, potzbiltz," Wenzel gasped, bringing a hand to his chest. "My apologies, you startled me." Wenzel offered the other man a wan smile, unsure whether they now had to endure the niceties of small chatter that he so loathed.

Omg it's the same with the city I'm from lol. It's called stab city by people not from here and it was the murder capital of Europe for a little while a few years back but it's never seemed particularly dangerous to me. tbh it's the nicest city I've been to, everyone is friendly and there are murals and cool graffiti everywhere
