i find it like. reeealllyyy weird that will wood has 4 songs about abusing women (front street being the most obvious and explicit, + all the songs from bigger than yours) and the community just. doesnt address it? please dont get me wrong this is not an attempt to cancel him or paint him as a bad person but...thats weird, right? him having a whole song dedicated to date rape and a whole album dedicated to female abuse is weird, right? is this crazy? am i crazy?

I am having a LOT of fun trying to do worldbuilding in my fic because I started out not thinking that this was going to be serious so I was playing calvinball with a lot of the details, and now I'm trying to retroactively justify a lot of the decisions I made. It is fun, it's like a puzzle, (and Nightow was also playing calvinball with a lot of stuff tbh) but there have been several times when I've stared into space trying to figure out the internal Eye of Michael politics that would lead to Wolfwood getting cult-comped top surgery

do you think 18 year olds cant get groomed? he was 7 years older and was SELF ADMITTEDLY creepy for being 25 sexing a TEENAGE FAN. if you really think legality = morality, how would you feel about a 25 y/o sexing a 16 or 17 year old in a state where it’s legal? pretty grossed out id hope!

Howler is deeply hurt, ingrained into her brain is the idea of her purpose to become a force of nature. Manipulated, her mind twisted up by the Colony, she was a lovely child, but both a curse and a blessing to her peers. And now, she passes the same knowledge and experiences to Chives, her horrible world views and personal views echoing down to Chives. But Howler taught those lessons 10-fold compared to how she was taught them. Chives followed her around like a baby duckling, even after Howler turned up dead, she desperately wanted to watch her walk into the room so she could follow her again. Chives was given a twisted sense of purpose, taught to her by the cat who experience the same feelings, thoughts, and emotions. Howler's way of teaching was harsh, but it was "like tough love", perhaps the love and care was there, but never enough. They had both fallen victim to the cycle of war. Molding themselves into deadly beasts to better serve their community. But Howler controlled Chives, and when she died, she was left alone, nowhere to go and no one to follow and obey. She was now nothing. After all: What is a weapon without it's wielder?

you're on teyn-c, a damp, swampy planet filled with huge plant structures, when the Captain (not Conner, never Conner, you're not allowed to call him that. only his friends are, and you're not his friend, you tried) announces that he has something to say.

"my valued crew, I have spent several weeks reviewing the data from our mission on machu-6, and I've located our failure point!"

"That's excellent news, conner!" one of the guys pipes up. that one left bruises on you that lasted for weeks last time you went near him.

"you see, it was loki! that thing's presence disrupted our team and led to us failing to capture the specimens we needed!" the Captain turns to face you, his eyes boring into your soul. you feel small.

they're all staring at you.

"captain, i-"

your feet fall from under you as you're pulled off your feet by your tail. they hold you up like a fish on a line, and the captain slaps your face. it would sting, if he hadn't done the same thing every day for four months.

"no. you don't talk to me. only Scientists talk to me, and you'll never be a Scientist."

it's not far to the nearest town here. what if you just ran away?

you suck in a breath.

"i'm more of a scientist than you'll ever be, captain," you spit his words at him. the men holding you throw you against the ground, hard. your face feels wet. you don't know if it's mud or blood. you don't think it matters.

pain shoots through your body as his boot connects with your stomach

"you want to dress like an animal, you get treated like one," he sneers.

your fingers find their way into your jacket pocket. he doesn't notice. he doesn't care. he's not even looking at you. he grunts in disgust.

"i'm never-" finishing his sentence, is what he's never doing. because you shoot him.

your fingers feel warm against the pistol in your hands. you designed it yourself, specialty.

the men stare at you. you fire again.

chad, brett, ryan, rob lie dead in the mud. its turning a deep red with their blood.

you stare at samuel, the man who spoke before. the one who left bruises all down your arms and legs. conner's right hand man.

"listen, loki-"

you have one bullet left.

the remaining men are watching you with new fear, maybe even respect in your eyes. it wont stop you from blasting them into shrapnel for everything they did to you.

your finger hits the trigger.

a blossom of blood erupts from samuel's forehead, and he crumples.

you leave no survivors.

I can't remember the end of trimax too well, but i definitely think vash would have been more upset concerning the current events if it wasn't for plot purposes. the 90s anime and trimax have the same vibes (bc nightow obviously), and i think in the anime, after wolfwood dies is when vash becomes actively suicidal, and i think the anime just portrayed wolfwood's actions in the dumbest way possible (Wolfwood's been marked "dead" by the narrative while still alive, he's now doomed for that ep. milly and meryl avoid our heroes at all costs while crying about them, ww goes to vash, but also teleports away right after handing him the coin, vash inexplicably cannot find him again, and wolfwood chooses to cry and plead to god while not attempting to save his own life), but I feel vash possibly could come to the conclusion ww tried vash's way and therefore died, so there could be more guilt there besides just his friend dying. in the manga, I remember he's definitely depressed about it, but a good amount of time is dedicated to a newly changed livio at the time, and they need to head towards knives' next destination. i think with as big a blow as his new best friend dying, right after vash has been imprisoned for half a year, along with all the other stuff that happens in trimax, i feel like he would have suffered worse with those previous events in the timeline. vash and legato's fight highlight vash not really having any self-preservation besides wanting to fill the role of saving humanity, but nothing really comes of that acknowledgment either i think?

#personal #ww dying in the anime and manga feel the same (adopting vash's ideals in the final confrontation) but the anime's writing wasnt... the best #in fact it was bad lol #i still cant understand the choice back then to have it be revealed the next ep that legato was controlling him #which didnt make sense either bc i think that wouldve been a great opportunity to cause vash pain (what legato was assigned to do)#but instead how it comes off is that ww is wrong for trying to spare his formerly abusive mentor/whatever #and only the viewer knows #but the entire conflict before chapel comes is wolfwood's killing. so i think vash could come to a conclusion of #'i gave wolfwood shit and he tried my way and it clearly didnt go well'#while in the manga vash does respect ww but ww softens due to vash. the fight at the orphanage was more than how the anime presented it #but vash never overcomes his guilt so i think ww dying could be a great trigger for relapsing. but he kind of just cant for plot reasons

once again thinking about my post-trimax legato somehow miraculously survives despite everything au and vashgato agenda aka The Worlds Most Miserable Roadtrip

#one of these days ill get back to it #its the fucking. anger and hatred and loathing from legato @ vash #because legato and vashs entire dynamic is fucking #legato has lain down on the tracks. and he doesnt want to be saved. he needs vash to be the train that runs him over.#and then he lives. somehow. he missed his chance to die.#he had no reason to live. his one reason to carry on was for a cause he fully intended to die for and then he couldnt even do that #mirrored by vash. who also went into that confrontation with knives fully intending to not make it out #and now the world is saved! knives failed and now hes gone. and thats a whole fucking thing to unpack for everyone #the fucking anger. the grief. the whole fuckin mess of contradictory emotions that happens as a result of abuse from a family member w vash #fucking Everything wrt legato. the devastation of knowing knives is gone + he failed + legato lived + *vash* lived #the slowwwwwww realization over a long long period of time that legato worshipped the ground knives walked on #but knives only ever regarded legato with like. the same way someone might an ant. a bug. maybe a dog.#legato who only ever wanted to be Seen by knives #and knives who never particularly cared for legato beyond his usefulness #legato who begins following vash because its probably what knives would want + there is truly nothing else on this planet for him.#he has no other reason to live #and vash allowing him out of some sense of pity / resignation + being able to see that theres Nothing left for legato #+ probo some sense of obligation too. of heres another person his brother fucked up. which means hes vash’s responsibility to fix #all the while legato resents vash for living when knives isnt here. resents him for failing to kill him.#resents him for being the only other thing that knives actually cared about + who rejected knives when all legato ever wanted #was knives’ attention #and vash who frankly resents legato too. resents the fact that. of all the people who managed to survive. it was legato and not ww #resents all the shit that legato put him through. all the people he killed all the suffering he inflicted #the two of them looking at each other and the fucking. recognition of the self thru the other #and seeing all the shit they hate about themselves in the other #theres also again the shared grief of them both losing someone incredibly important to them both but who was also responsible for some #abuse to Both of them. unpacking it. working through it. moving forward.#learning How to move forward as a Whole when theyre both two deeply traumatized deeply suicidal fucks who no longer have the singular goals #thatve been their sole reason for existing for the past. many. years. and having to find new reasons to keep living #but most of all. i think they should make out sloppy in the desert thank you goodnight
