Because of ReasonsTM, this year has been pretty low on fannish activities, but there are still some things to sum up!
2023 was the year that I…
…stepped down as an OTW Translation volunteer (because of ReasonsTM)

…set my own NaNoWriMo goal at 6000 words and reached 13113!
…unfollowed and refollowed Neil Gaiman more times that I care to remember due to Tumblr being its usual bitchy self (yes, this was related to the Good Omens’ premiere).
…used a free trial on Amazon Prime (also related to Good Omens)
…bought my mum a Christmas present from her current fandom
…realised my April Fool’s joke backfired hard
…gave into bandom
…almost allowed myself to become a kpop blog for real
…spent so many nights watching concert videos
(…actually watched so much INFINITE on YouTube that their algorithm has run out of content to show me)
…fell in love with Richard Armitage and his singing voice
…realised Spotify wraps funny due to the point above
…finally named a very important OC
…found my portable HD again
…had the intention to do Whumpril
…honestly believed I’d finish THE femslash fic

...watched more TV than I think I ever have

currently reading: Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice -- the show got me on a reread kick! :D Last time I read the series, there were only 4 or 5 books, so I'm looking forward to reading some new-to-me Vampire Chronicles soon, too. (I'm also 5-25% into about seven other books, and I think I'll abandon most of them. Having a lot of trouble getting hooked by new stuff at the moment.) A fanfic I am currently enjoying is "to put the world between us" (a cherik actor AU) by @x-populuxe .
current obsession: Ted Lasso, still. :) I'm tbh a bit terrified of S3, because the last time a show I was this into came out with a new season, it was Sherlock, and that was a massive disappointment for me (both in terms of canon and in terms of resulting fandom drama). But I'm nonetheless also excited for the new episodes and the new fanworks they'll hopefully inspire -- and I'm happy to be writing fic again, thanks to two seconds of inspiration from the trailer, lol. (Edit: also still obsessed about the differences between F/F, F/M, and M/M, and looking forward to posting a new chapter about dark fic & related tropes in the not too distant future.)

I liiiiiiiive! Only took me a month to answer this, but I did! Thank you for being so patient :)
5. What are your fanfic pet peeves? Do they have a huge effect on whether or not you decide to read something?
Hard emphasis on Eggsy’s accent. We all know how he speaks, reading several dropped g’s and replacing f with a th, I do know he does it in canon. But I find it way too distracting when reading, so I often don’t read fics that use it heavily.
9. Tag 3 fic writers you think are underrated/unknown in the fandom/fanfiction community.
@solrosan - I feel like they’re severely underrated for the amount of detail, research and characterization that goes into their fics. They’re amazing.
@misterdevere - Their fics are like my happy place, they have a whole series about Eggsy with his son and his growing relationship with Merlin. They offer a variety of ships and genres, definitely a name that goes unnoticed.
Autumnswitch (I can’t seem to tag them on tumblr) - but they’ve written some beautiful merwin. They have a fic called: Takes Me Nowhere Takes Me Home and MAN. This fic…this fic. I love it so much. It’s so good. Definitely not a name that people often think of, it’s a shame.
11. How do you come up with your fic titles?
Heh. Sometimes I have to talk it out with friends, other times I’m begging @anarchycox to take pity on me and bless me with her title powers.
20. What’s your favorite part about the fanfiction writing process?
Bahahaha. Posting. Hands down posting. It’s done. I’ve did the tag thing, it has a title…I’ve actually written it!

21. What is the one fic that got away?
Okay, @solrosan so I am going to answer this one in three ways: the one that I lost unexpectedly (like, corrupted file type shit), the one I had an idea for but couldn’t for the life of me actually write, and the one that was supposed to be a little thing and got away from me.
For the first, I was working on an AU where Harry never bugged Eggsy at the pub, but he ended up involved in Kingsman anyway, but the fiile got lost when I transitioned from using yarny.me to google docs. Very sad.
For the second, I have like a whole 10 sentences SOMEWHERE for an ATLA AU where I figured out everyone’s bending and shit and was so excited but the plot left me like the NEXT DAY and that frustrates me so much. Gah
For the third, Echoes was going to be a oneshot. It is nearly 65k (counting the alternate story it’s about 80k) of what was going to be a little thing inspired by something my mother said after she’d seen it and we went to have a pint.

Watching:
I just finished Our Beloved Summer. It was quite okay in the sense that it felt familiar. I'm not sure if I particularly liked it, but it was nice coming back to it every night, and it was nice to see Choi Woo-Shik looking well-rested after binging Youn's stay.
Designated survivor
Listen, I've been trying to finish this drama for ages, but it's bad for my health. My blood pressure may never recover, honestly. I think I can see myself in the shoes of this poor guy trying to do his best and having no idea of what's going on (at least in the first few episodes). Son Sukku makes the experience more enjoyable :D
Plan To Watch:
Twenty-five, twenty-one
So, the problem is that Netflix Latam releases these kinds of shows about two months after the rest of the world gets the first episodes. And by the time I can properly watch them, the magic (?) is not there anymore.
My liberation notes
Same problem. I'm not sure about the plot, but it's always nice to see Son Sukku, and I'm really looking forward to his take on the drunk uncle character.

Since I can't rewatch She was pretty (terrible show, would not recommend), I think it's time to rewatch Itaewon class. I have a soft spot for that drama :D
