Wow. Diavolo's just as bad as the rest of us, isn't he? I mean, literally jumping out of his office window to escape the Devildom and visit MC...that certainly wasn't on my bingo card for this year.
In any case, we do need to locate him. He's known to cause chaos whenever he's left unsupervised, and while I'd love to see a video of him go viral, I know Lucifer wouldn't, and I really don't want to sit through one of his lectures.
Thankfully, I have just the thing that might help.
"This is Crowe," I tell MC, putting the black cylinder in their hands.
"I didn't know you had a smart speaker," MC replies as they examine Crowe.
"I won him at an auction. Apparently he's a prototype. He's created by the Three-Legged Crow Group, the same company that sells D.D.D.'s. As long as someone has one of their phones, Crowe can track their location. All you have to do is ask."
"Sounds simple enough. Hopefully Diavolo has his phone on him." With that, MC asks Crowe to locate our missing prince.
"Lord Diavolo is located at The Drunk Hyena," it answers. "Would you like me to provide the address?"
"Yes." After hearing the address, MC appears shocked.
"Everything okay?" I ask them.
"I had no idea they had a location in the human world." I shrug, trying to hide my surprise. Clubbing doesn't really seem like MC's thing. Then again, Asmo is prone to dragging people to clubs, so who knows?
"The owners must have bought the building and created a portal. That sort of thing happens all the time." I pause. "Still doesn't explain why Diavolo would be there, though. It's the middle of the day."
"Perhaps it was the safest way for him to get here. People tend to not ask a lot of questions at clubs." That's true, I suppose. They're too caught up in whatever or whoever it is they're doing to notice anything outside their bubble.
At that moment, MC's phone rings.
"Good timing," they mutter as they pull it out and answer it. They tell the person on the other end that they're going to put them on speaker before positioning their phone so that it's between us.
"Who's in the room with you?" Oh shit. It's Diavolo.
"Just me," I reply. Diavolo breathes a sigh of relief.
"Thank goodness. I was afraid it might have been someone else. I've been meaning to talk to you about that anime you recommended to me a few months ago. It's really good."
During my quest to manage my social anxiety, I discovered that one of my online friends was actually none other than Diavolo himself, which was weird, because I "met" him on a pretty unknown online RPG, one that only the most devoted members of the gaming community knew about.
As it turns out, Diavolo's secretly a huge gaming nerd. I don't know how he finds the time, since his duties as prince require the majority of his attention, but somehow he's up-to-date on the latest news in the gaming world.
It was definitely awkward at first when I found out, but then I realized that Diavolo just wanted someone he could geek out with. It's not like Lucifer or Barbatos would; neither one of them are particularly interested in video games.
"Diavolo, what sort of trouble did you get yourself into?" MC asks before he has the opportunity to start rambling. I don't have to look at his face to know that he's blushing.
"Well, I may have gotten stuck."
"Are we talking tight space, or something cursed?"
"The latter." He sounds like someone who got caught stealing. "This place has a cursed karaoke room where you can't leave until you get a perfect score on the machine's vocal accuracy challenge."
"So, why haven't you participated?" Silence. "Diavolo, is this a ploy to get me to join you?" More silence. Then,
"Maaaybe." As Asmo would say, he's definitely down bad.
And somehow I'm fine with that. It's weird, I know, especially since I wouldn't have been fine before. I would have been tearing myself down as I holed myself up in my room, because there was no way I could compete with someone like Diavolo for someone's affection.
That's not the case now. I can't really explain why I feel calm; I just do.
"You know MC can't come by themselves, right?" I ask. "You know who would throw a fit if they did." Diavolo sighs.
"Yeah, I do. Doesn't make any sense to me, but whatever. He can feel how he wants." He pauses. "Ask the others if they want to tag along. We can at least make something fun out of the situation."

I had woken up early due to the baby kicking, he or she was being very fussy tonight. It was just too hard to try and sleep. I thought a walk around camp might help ease whatever was going on with the baby. As I was walking past part of the ship that had broken off, a wave of nausea hit me. I quickly walked towards the back of the ship and puked. This shouldn’t be happening, it was far too soon. The baby wasn’t supposed to be due for another two months! Abby and Clarke both said I would give birth in March! It was only late December!
“Y/N? Baby are you alright?” Jasper asked as I was hunched over, puking wherever was left in my body out.
“Jas… The baby…” I struggled to say through the pain.
“What? What’s wrong? Are you okay? Is the baby okay?” He asked quickly.
“I need Abby or Clarke…” I groaned and held my stomach. Jasper quickly helped me into the ship and to the med bay.
“Lay down and I’ll go find one of them.” He said with fear in his eyes. I nodded and laid in the bed with a groan. It felt a little better laying down, but something still didn’t feel right. Clarke came rushing in not long after with a worried Jasper trailing behind.
“Y/N, I need you to tell me what you’re feeling.” She said.
“Nauseous, some pain in my stomach, the baby kicking…” I listed and she nodded.
“Something doesn’t feel right, Clarke.” I said and she sighed.
“It sounds like you’re going into labor, but there’s a possibility that we could stop it. If you just lay here and stay relaxed.” She said and I sighed.
“So you’re saying I just have to lay here and do absolutely nothing?” I asked and she nodded.
“Yeah, pretty much.” She said and I groaned.
“Would you rather give birth right now?” Jasper asked and I sighed.
“No…” I said and they both smiled at me.
“Then you’re being confined to this bed, don’t even think about moving without some help.” Clarke said and walked off. I sighed and looked down at my stomach.
“This is for the best, Y/N. You don’t wanna put our child or yourself at risk, do you?” Jasper asked, taking a seat next to me and holding my hand.
“No, but stuck in bed with nothing to do? This is gonna suck!” I groaned and he chuckled.
“You’ll be fine, baby.” He said and kissed my hand.
I was stuck in bed for two weeks. I was lying immobile day after day for two damn weeks! Unfortunately it did nothing to stop my baby from coming too soon. Clarke and Abby were with me, trying their best to keep me calm as they worked.
“I need Jasper!” I gasped as the contractions hit me.
“He’s on his way.” Clarke assured me. Jasper rushed in not long after and gripped my hand.
“I’m right here, Y/N. I’m right here.” He said, wiping my forehead. Clarke and Abby helped me through my pregnancy and our sweet baby boy was screaming and crying as they wiped him down. He was smaller than a newborn should be, but given that he was two months early, they said it was normal.
“He looks perfect.” I smiled as they handed him to me.
“What are you gonna name him?” Clarke asked.
“How about Shawn?” Jasper asked and I smiled.
“I love it.” I said and looked down at our baby boy.
“Y/N, we need to keep him in a cradle. We don’t have one, but I’m sure Raven can figure out how to make something that will keep him alive.” Abby said and my head shot up.
“What do you mean, keep him alive?” I asked.
“He’s too small and frail, he was born too early.” She explained.
“B-But…” I trailed off with a tear falling down my cheek. Jasper gripped my hand and gently rubbed my back.
“I’ll go see what Raven can do.” Clarke said and rushed off to find Raven.
“He needs the warmth and humidity that the womb gives him. He won’t be able to drink properly from you and he’s going to need constant attention.” She said and the tears fell faster.
“B-But he’ll be okay… right?” I asked and she nodded with a smile.
“I promise, we will do whatever it takes to keep your Son alive.” She said.
“Thank you.” Jasper said and kissed my head. Jasper and I spent time with our Son and Abby had helped me feed him with a small bottle that she had. Once he finished the milk, he drifted off to sleep with a small smile. His breathing was lower than it should be and it made me terribly anxious.
“Y/N, you need to relax, he’ll feel something’s wrong.” Jasper whispered.
“But something is wrong, Jas. He was born too early and he could possibly…” I couldn’t even finish my sentence without a sob breaking free.
“Hey, Abby, Clarke, Raven, hell Bellamy, Monty, and even Murphy won’t let that happen.” He said and I bit my lip as I looked at the small boy wrapped up in a blanket.
“He’ll be alright.” He said and gently stroked my arm.
Sure enough Raven and Monty were able to make something that would keep our Son alive. It hurt not being able to be close to him, but he was being kept safe. He was breathing. A few weeks later I was able to leave and no longer be stuck in a bed. As much as I didn’t want to leave my Son, I needed to have a change of sensory for even just a little bit. Jasper tried his best to keep my mind from worrying, but there really wasn’t much he could do.
“Y/N! Jasper!” Clarke called and we turned to look at her. My anxiety instantly spiked and Jasper held me to try and calm me.
“What’s wrong? Is Shawn okay?” I asked and she smiled.
“He’s fine, but my Mom needs to talk to both of you.” She said and I bit my lip.
“Thanks, Clarke.” Jasper smiled at her and led me back into the ship.
“Abby? Is everything okay?” I asked as soon as my eyes landed on her.
“Everything’s fine, I just needed to tell you both something.” She said and motioned for us to take a seat.
“What is it?” Jasper asked.
“It’s about Shawn-”
“I knew it! Something is wrong!” I said and a tear fell down my cheek.
“Nothing is wrong… necessarily.” She said and we looked at her confused.
“Shawn is perfectly healthy and he’s doing great.” She said.
“But?” Jasper asked.
“But, Shawn is deaf.” She said and our eyes widened.
“What?” I asked in disbelief.
“It happens sometimes when the baby is born prematurely.” She said and I gripped Jasper's hand a little tighter.
“You did nothing wrong. He’s a healthy boy, he’ll just need a little help as he grows up. You guys shouldn’t stop talking to him though. He may not be able to hear you, but you’ll still be connecting with him and he’ll learn to read lips.” She explained.
“I guess it’s a good thing you already know sign language.” Jasper said, trying to lighten the mood.
“You do?” Abby asked and I nodded.
“My Mother was deaf.” I said and she nodded.
“That could have also been a factor with Shawn, was she born deaf?” She asked and I shook my head.
“No, there was an accident and she lost her hearing.” I said and she nodded once again.
“Well, perhaps you can teach other people sign as he grows up. It’ll make things easier and he’ll feel less isolated.” She said and I nodded.
“Can you give us a minute?” Jasper asked and Abby nodded with a smile. She left the two of us alone and Jasper turned me to face him.
“See? Shawn is fine.” He said with a smile.
“Fine? He’s deaf, Jas! How can he survive in a world like this if he can’t hear?” I asked.
“He’ll have us, and everyone out there.” Jasper said and pointed to the outside of the ship.
“We’re all a family, the hundred stick together. They’ll help protect him and he’ll learn to survive without hearing. All that matters is that he’s healthy and happy.” He said and I smiled slightly.
“I always knew you’d make a good Dad.” I said and he pulled me into his chest.
“And you are gonna be an awesome Mom.” He said and kissed my head. Shawn may have been very early, but he’s here now and he’s alive. That’s all that matters.
