the two cats i'm most obsessed with in my clangen save rn, Burnetpelt and Bouncemurk. They have a terrible relationship with one another but hey at least I love them both
#for context; Bouncemurk was appointed deputy without mentoring anyone#then given one of burnetpelts kits as a make up apprentice#who dies on her first patrol in the jaws of a wild dog. so.#yeah burnet blames bounce for that. fully. as the cat appointed deputy she DEFINITELY shouldve fucking known. not to send a baby into battl#even though its more complicated than that they were on a patrol and it showed up. what was she gonna do as the deputy? NOT lead it away?#try to fight it off?#a damned either way situation but the point is. burnet is the new deputy because hes the only man whos mentored anyone who made it#and bounce was demoted. took the immediate slaughter of her apprentice as a sign from starclan she was the VERY WRONG CHOICE#thus the. quote. she wasnt meant to be anything at all. not a deputy. not a mentor. not respected. no ones friend.#an internal realization. hot tears that she curses herself for letting fall. she doesnt DESERVE to cry. its HER fault.#HJJGGGGHGH I love her sm. shes super young shes like 2 years old tops she never shouldve been placed in this situation#this whole clan is fucked actually. what if there was a comic that was, on the surface, a very poorly written and made warrior cats comic about one-note characters that leaned heavily into tropes (wc and general ones) all drawn in ms paint, but around 50-60 pages the narrative is shifted wildly off course as instead of the main character meeting the love interest at their first gathering, they instead fuck off and befriend a background cat who was never supposed to fully exist instead. this causes a domino effect of things to happen- like characters forming different relationships than what were planned and personalities developing differently. more and more drastic measures are made by 'starclan' to course correct- until one of their messengers misinterprets their sign and messes up things permanently, causing the two to be aware that none of their world is actually real. though there were plenty of signs beforehand- it was just that one last thing that confirmed it for good.

The Mall Cats believe cars to be vessels of StarClan. They can't see the stars at night due to light pollution, but they CAN see headlights, and believe cars to be almost like angels of StarClan. Getting hit by a car is essentially the warrior cat equivalent of Icarus flying too close to the sun, the vessels of StarClan aren't cruel, they don't want to hurt you, but if you get too close, too careless, you'll get swept up, and taken into their ranks too early
#theyre like bears. beautiful acts of nature but volatile and dangerous#Cars are also a significant part of their culture#roadkill is RubbleClans MAIN source of food so cars hitting prey animals is essentially StarClan blessing them with a meal#SmokeClan gets their stained fur from exhaust fumes. its StarClan giving them a sign that theyre watched over and protected#DustClan spans beneath the road and the rumbles of StarClan overtop signal that they are protected#mall cats

you know that vision leafpool got of brambles surrounding the camp and she took it as meaning that brambleclaw should be deputy because he'd protect the clan
first of all, shout out to leafpool for being very mature and assuming the most positive outcome about that vision even though she fucking hated brambleclaw (rightfully)
but also what if she was wrong, what if she interpreted the sign wrong, what if the vision meant brambleclaw, like brambles, would ensnare, strangle, and cause HARM to thunderclan, not protect it
bramblestar's leadership has literally caused more harm than good to ANYONE in thunderclan (as well as outside of thunderclan, literally all of the clans (except skyclan i guess?), as well as the sisters have SUFFERED because of bramblestar being thunderclan's leader
and not to mention the individual cats who've suffered the most from him being leader, like him using his power to literally ABUSE squirrelflight, as well as his decisions actively causing leafpool's death, as well as the death of moonlight, killing a harmless group's leader and leaving three newborn kits as orphans, and ALMOST killing squirrelflight
not to mention brambleclaw literally had to STOP AND THINK about whether or not he should save firestar from the foxtrap like what the fuck man, and maybe if he hadn't literally hesitated firestar wouldn't have lost that life and then at the great battle firestar would have survived
what if starclan WAS sending a warning, and specifically sent it to leafpool because she was already suspicious of brambleclaw, but because she was still so young and less experienced, because she was so kindhearted and wanted to see the good in everyone, she WANTED her sister's mate to be a good person, a good leader, and was such a positive person, she thought, she wanted, she HOPED that it was a sign from starclan that brambles would protect her clan, her sister, her family
but it wasn't

To everycat that reblogged and voted in my poll in good faith, I thank you.
Clearly something fishy is afoot, whether that's from kits birthed for the purpose of this poll, or popular blogs like @mouse and @swanstar-official badgering their kittypet followers to vote for their Clan. And clearly the subversion does not come from all sides in this debate. I have half a mind to declare ThunderClan the winner, just out of spite.
If RiverClan or ShadowClan 'wins' by cheating, fraud, intimidation, and manipulation, does that 'prove' that it is the best? Hardly. It only proves that such Clans are willing to gain any advantage by any means—including dishonorable ones. Can you trust that such cats won't resort to dirty tactics in snout-to-snout interactions? At the Gathering? In war? Cats like you are the reason we will never have peace.
I won't lie, I'm a bit distraught right now. But I probably should not have expected anything else from this StarClan-forsaken webbedsight. I will never be doing anything like this for you mangy cats ever again. Goodbye.

look! she has her star marking! YAY!!!
yes, she does canonically have a chest/ "heart" star mark, I just forgot to add it in her OG design. she was designed a while before the other leaders so the star marks weren't really on my mind at the time :P
some bonus Crestedstar lore since a lot of ppl have asked about her collar's star shaped tag-
Her collar is part of why she was chosen to be the next leader of Singingclan! She had been taken by twolegs and had been given the collar by them, but she escaped and returned to the clan. When she returned it was at a time when the old deputy was ready to retire, and the star on her collar was seen as a sign from Starclan that it was time for her to be the new deputy!

instead of asking what parts of wind you’ll be getting rid of, i’ll instead ask what parts you’re keeping. the list is shorter then haha
FROSTPAW AND WHISTLEPAW.
Best part of Wind is the bond between these two, in fact, the entire plot about WindClan felt like it dropped out of the alternate universe where the books are good. The sudden dream of catastrophe, the way StarClan gave Frostpaw this sign on purpose to make them know she's legitimate, Whistlepaw injuring herself to try and save her little sister... Even the little details, like Nightcloud and Hootwhisker trying to drag the tree by the trunk, were neat to see.
I Dont Rewrite Arcs Until They Are Done BUT I do know that I'm going to elevate and expand what's going on with Frost and Whistle. They're fantastic.
Another small thing I'm actually planning on keeping is this exchange between Squilf and Jayfeather, which you'll probably find surprising since I'm so open about how much I dislike the way they've made Squilfstar less proactive;
In a better book, I think this could have been a GREAT moment.
What I dislike about this exchange is that Squilf is able to rebuke it, because the writers DO feel that Bramblestar was a good leader. They're trying to show that Squilfstar is going to act more "mature" (read: boring) with her role now, probably to make a point about how Bramblestar wasn't being "indecisive" for the 10 years we were stuck with him but "responsible." Basically, she gets the power and finds out it isn't so easy-- I'll even bet at some point in the next arc or two she'll become frustrated by someone acting the way she used to.
I've seen some people praising this, and like, it's not illegal to have bad taste. But I think this is an AWFUL thing to do with a character who could have finally caused interesting things to happen, on top of just feeling like contempt of criticism on behalf of the writers.
"Ohhhh they thought she would be more decisive than our beloved baby boy, WELL, WE'LL SHOW THEM. You will sit through 10 paragraphs of debate no matter WHO is in charge!!!"
But like I said....... in a better book, this could have been great. If this was a wake-up call for her.
Suddenly experiencing the full weight of responsibility upon herself, she stops making bold decisions. The complicated political situation in front of her, individual opinions of her Clan around her, and the wounded glares of the furious Brambleclaw below her are all acting like briar vines, pulling her down.
Even StarClan itself seems to have placed a weight on her, cats who she's followed faithfully and been punished by.
So Jayfeather, with all of the changes he has in BB, brawling with angels, speaking defiance to the stars, and pulling spirits down from the heavens, is the perfect cat to be honest with her.
I'm still trying to find a good way to describe the electricity between them in this moment. BB!Jayfeather once reached up his paw through the veil between life and death to grab her ankle and fetch her from her own trial, knowing that she wanted to keep living. He's part of whatever motion she took to remove Bramblestar from power. Her son, her cleric, her ally. How do I put these emotions into words?
"Did you come this far just to become someone else?"
Just... what a moment it could be. For this to be the second that Squilfstar realizes in spite of everything, Bramblestar's thorns still jab at her. That she has to move forward, DAMN the uncertainty, by being herself.

Some more designs for the au !! Cinderpelt who is living with Barley and Ravenpaw, a posessed Bluestar, Runningnose who has just been told by Starclan that his clan is doomed and a scared Smudge.
More of the 'Blue eye's au'
The plot takes place during the 'Rising storm' book, Thunderclan has taken Brokenstar as prisoner after the battle in Shadowclan. Yellowfang poisons Brokenstar with the deathberries and Bluestar is made aware of it but does nothing to stop it.
Bluestar, still shocked by Tigerstar's betrayal starts to refuse her leader duties. She ignores signs from Starclan and doesn't take her clan to join the gatherings. This angers starclan and leads to them taking over Thunderclan. They intend to punish the clan by making them battle Shadowclan once again. Since Nightstar attempted to get nine lives while Brokenstar was still alive the angerd Starclan feel this is a fitting punishment for both Thunder and Shadowclan.
Then Princess steps in and saves the day aka tries to help her brother escape the cult now posessed by dead cats
(Ill work out all the details later lol I don't know if I want to expand the au to involve Shadowclan as well (mostly an excuse to include Runningnose lol) or if I wanna keep it witnin Thunderclan.

Poolverse!Protagonists: Sunflare, Poolmask, and Ryeseed!
For those who haven't been following me since I (tried) to get this kicking, Poolverse (formerly known as a new generation/actual name pending) is a nextgen AU revolving around an alternate AVOS cast. It's set in the aftermath of a very different OotS where the Clans decide to abolish the borders and attempt to live peacefully...to mixed results. This is a soft reboot of it!
(major changes + character bios under the cut)
Major Changes
Obviously, aforementioned abolishing of the borders, but also getting rid of certain parts of the code. Cross-clan relationships are now allowed as well as medic relations, though they still face stigma from other cats.
OotS is very different, with the Dark Forest successfully capturing ThunderClan and WindClan territory. The remaining Clan members banded together in ShadowClan and RiverClan territory and fought back, succeeding in defeating the Dark Forest but losing many lives in the process.
Brambleclaw fled the Clans after the battle, opting to live as a housecat instead. Squirrelflight left shortly after, having bonded with a familiar loner and opting to live outside the borders with him. She occasionally visits ThunderClan and meets with Leafpool often.
Hollyleaf, surviving her wounds, takes the mantle of leadership at Brambleclaw's request- much to some of the members of ThunderClan's dismay. Brightheart acts as her deputy but intends to retire once ThunderClan is more stable.
A new rank has been added: courier! These cats are responsible for delivering messages that need to be sent before the next gathering. Thought of by Heathertail when WindClan cats were ordered to deliver messages between bases during the Great Battle. The role has persisted on afterwards.

Brief Description: The product of a brief and tumultuous affair between Heathertail and Lionblaze during the Great Battle, Sunflare is a cool, calm and collected Warrior...for the most part. Sunflare takes quiet pride in her lineage, having been nursed with stories of prophecies and grand battles, she's well aware of her father's past reputation as an unstoppable Warrior who could take on countless warriors...and secretly wonders how she can get that power for herself.
Poolmask (He/They)

Rank: Medic-in-Training
Brief Description: A serious no-nonsense Tom who often prefers to keep silent than speak. Poolmask has a strong sense of routine and order, liking things to be just as he would leave them. While formally admiring and respecting his mothers, he finds himself grappling with a strained relationship as he grows older and begins to learn that Hollystar has been hiding secrets from him.
Ryeseed (She/He/They)
Clan: ThunderClan
Rank: Courier
Brief Description: A playful, mischievous, and occasionally destructive cat. Ryeseed takes her father's dry humor and her mother's boisterous spirit in stride and can often be found playing pranks on other ThunderClan cats. One of the first of a new rank, courier, Ryeseed can often be seen bounding across the lake territories, and it is how she stumbles across a sign from StarClan warning her of what's to come.
