So, the little backstory for Y/N:

They were originally an archivist (and are just generally a huge nerd). On one occasion they got sent to a new colony to, you guessed it! Archive!! The ship never made it to its destination though, and an emergency landing had to be made on a nearby unoccupied planet. It was kinda chaos until Y/N piped up and explained the few things they knew about both the planet and surviving with minimal technology. This calmed the panic and rescue was eventually received with no losses.

This happened 3 more times before Y/N decided they should probably learn more about survival and crashes. They ended up being really good at it, and even got a “job” with Alterra (they need to pay off the debt) as a “survival expert”. Crew like to keep them around as a lucky charm, so if a crash does happen, everyone should get off Scott-free, but passengers aren’t too fond of someone who’s been in so many crashes coming aboard the same ship as them.

And that’s what they were doing on the Aurora.

hm. i've been quiet abt it bc i don't really like being negative on here but honestly the new furby design is. disappointing idk. absolutely nothing against people who like it ofc, and there are def some cute aspects. but it sucks to see that the design is so far removed from original furbies and just doesn't have the same charm idk. the connect was already straying pretty far but honestly i kinda like connects bc the shapes are cute but. idk the 2023 furbs just seem like they're trying to hard to be cutesy and it just feels sort of forced?? if it appeals to kids and young people get to enjoy it that's awesome and honestly that's kind of the point. but i do get why people are unhappy with it. like in regards certain aspects like the eyes the fixed beak & the way it's like. super difficult to take apart bc of the clips and stuff. i can totally see why a lot of customizers especially aren't happy with it. i'm sure lots of people have said the exact same stuff but yeah overall i feel like. relatively neutral to the whole thing idk it's nice to see furbies being produced and sold again and yeah it is cute but i get why people aren't loving it. that said ofc there are people who do love it and that's totally okay. regardless if you love it or hate it what's not okay is people within the community being rude to each other based on whether they like it or not cmon. it's not for everyone but if people do like it that's their business and there's no need to be rude!!! but on the other hand if people have complaints about it they should be allowed to voice that as long as they're not being mean yknow. letting it cause a rift in the community is silly. but anyways

Think about it this way: no one complained when Michael released a $1400 guitar because that was priced relative to the market it was designed for. In the market of luxury candles, $60 is on the low end. These were not made for 5SOS fans, this is not merch, this is a business venture and the product is priced in line with that type of business. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Finished Desolation Island this morning and I’m so pleasantly surprised and delighted by how nice the ending was. At least, within the context of the series and it’s characters

I spoke abt this already to friends in private but after questioning and researching on my own I finally asked my counsellor abt the possibility of me being autistic and in both personal and professional experiences she felt pretty certain on it! Obv she cannot diagnose me herself but it was really assuring to get a professionals imput and validation! It just puts so many things into context for me adulthood and present and it feels nice to better understand myself and know what tools to look for if I need them

i swear to god, jgy being bitchy/prickly as a proof that he's finally opened up to someone is possibly my most disliked fandom treatment of him, because with obvious jgy haters at least I know we have exactly nothing to talk about! aaaaand block! but then people who claim to love him just make him into a total opposite of who he was in the novel and it's just like. sigh

i'm reading a book called a century of antifeminism and it was written in the late 90s it's funny like you would have so much more material now (but it's also just more of the same)

i really like my seminar class tbh like i didnt think a class where i had to do readings every week and then discuss them as a class was gonna be enjoyable but im a fool if i thought discussing anything even vaguely literary was not gonna be my favorite thing in the world
