howdy! 🤠 thanks for stopping by. this is a bts hate blog. i reblog a lot of gif sets, memes, text posts, etc. and talk too much in the tags. i don’t really make things aside from what’s already here

Im a small artist and have done art commissions for years and want to make it my full time job. Unfortunately, months before I became aware of Palestine/Gaza news my Wix membership renewed … I can’t get a refund for it now. I really need to make my website but I feel awful, like I’ve already hurt people without realizing. Either I stay on this platform and feel terrible or I pay a lot of money I didn’t budget for to switch .. I’m not sure what to do. ;; is squarespace a good alternative to wix? In terms of the boycott? I know this is kind of unconventional but .. do you have any idea what I should do? Thank you ..
Honestly, personally, I would still stay on wix just because you already paid them and you might as well use their services for now. I would turn off automatic renewal and remember to purchase the URL after your year is up. I myself use carrd for my website, I'm also an artist.
I wouldn't feel awful — you didn't know! I also had a website on wix a couple years ago before I realized what they were doing... so it's fine, especially since you're willing to make a change later! Its like — if you already have an hp computer, you wont throw it away and buy a new one all of a sudden. Youll only be losing money. The goal of the boycott is to directly impact their economy as much as possible so that they're forced to make a change.
I've seen some people use a sticker that says "this is my last hp product" for their computer so that people know they are boycotting, so you could put a similar line in your bio if you think that will help?

Long time no bind
Hey everybody,
Sorry for kind of dropping off the face of the earth in 2023. It was a rough year -- tl;dr a lot of festering RL work stuff exploded in spectacular fashion toward the end of 2022, and the fallout caused a lot of stress-induced health problems that killed my ability to do, uh, pretty much anything creative. But! At the beginning of December, I started a new job that's already lowered my stress levels considerably, and my brain is slooooowly inching back online as I explore wild concepts like "a full night's sleep" and "no more crippling migraines every other week." MADNESS.
I have high hopes I'll be able to get back into fanbinding in 2024. That said, it's going to take me a while longer before I feel comfortable taking on commissions again; I'm also rethinking my whole commission structure after seeing how other fanbinders have abused the process, how fic authors have reacted in turn, and pondering my lifelong stance on Fandom As Gift Economy. Generally, I think it's fair to pay for the material cost of physical works -- but I also hate how fandom has become yet another side hustle, and I despise binders who inflate their material costs while churning out subpar work. I might only allow commissions for author copies in the future. I might do an occasional lottery for a free book. I might ditch commissions entirely and just fling free books at everybody! I'm still deciding.
Either way, if you're still here, thanks for sticking around. May 2024 bring us all more great fic to enjoy. ❤️

as i have yet to arrange my carrd, i thought i might delve a little into my primary arc, which will follow coriolanus into the beginnings of his political career and into his presidential campaign, the reconstruction of panem into a complete autocracy with the elimination of all political opposition, as well as the gradual development of the hunger games as entertainment. most prominent is the theme of utter moral decay that underlies his entire character, as he cuts off any potential for humanity within himself as he hoards more & more power. i want to explore him continuously choosing himself over others, over the country's welfare. the extent of the distance he sets up between himself and the rest of society; since boyhood, he believes he is superior to his classmates, then thinks he is better-suited than the other politicians, until eventually, there are no more stepping-stones.
the gist of the arc is this: after tbosas, snow interns with dr gaul at the university, before being promoted to head gamemaker following his graduation, during which time he launched countless initiatives to improve the workings of the games, from establishing the career institutions in districts 1/2/4, to integrating stylists & interviews, among other things, to engage the capitol audience. through this position, he further integrates himself into the high society of panem, amassing support for his agenda, which propels his eventual presidential campaign. he is favoured among the capitol, especially within the old noble families, for his creative ideas and promises of a booming economy. not wanting to take any risks, and with a paranoia more rampant than ever, he swiftly deals with his opposition through poison. a poison that leaves him with ailments, too, to alleviate suspicions. he takes over, and over the course of decades, gradually dismantles any and all avenues of a democratic system. suppression of the districts comes as a result of the restoration of the capitol to its full glory, with higher taxes & quotas. any doubts & qualms he debates with himself, which are present, especially during the early years, are ultimately rationalized as he covets control & hoards it.

Hey Senpai carrd creator and I would like to answer a few questions cause I JUST saw your posts.
1. Senpia is mix of the word sentient and the abbreviation (P)lural (i)internal (a)xperience (the alternative spelling of experience is inside joke between me and my friend it references like the alternative way of living as a system hence like alternative spelling I hope that made sense) It has nothing to do with the word senpai and isn't pronounced like it at all....
2. The main reason for collecting donations is to put it towards hosting a full functional website. Websites are not free you have to pay for the domain and you also have to pay for hosting (both of which are not one time payments) and the amount of storage you get varries as well as the quality. (Like you can host a site on some places cheap but the site will load really slowly ) it's not something that's required it's optional. I chose Litecoin over Bitcoin and Ethereum because Litecoin is what is considered a "stable coin" the value stays relatively the same whereas Bitcoin and Ethereum have huge value fluctuations. You can also track crypto transactions on a Blockchain explorer like https://blockchair.com/litecoin it shows you all the money in the wallet and all of the transactions , but I understand if not everyone is comfortable with it I can find something else (Also I didn't know about PayPal business I can Google it and do more research so ty : D)
3. and you can't unintentionally mine crypto? It's something you have to intentionally do and often times requires complex machines to "mint" new crypto. (Remember kids there is a lot of misinformation online and if people can't provide sources for there claims always be skeptical)

On the whole crypto thing, I don't think people are suggesting that trading Crypto directly harms the environment. I'm not super educated on the subject so people can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the real issue is that it's still supporting the crypto-economy.
The best comparison I can think might be Diamonds. Diamond mining is also damaging to the environment. And diamonds, like Crypto, are mostly expensive because we decided they are.
When you buy a diamond, you aren't directly harming the environment but you are creating more demand. And more demand keeps diamonds expensive which keeps them profitable for the people who are harming the environment. Industries wouldn't mine Crypto if nobody used it.
As I see it, the issue is that using Crypto incentiveses harming the environment even if you aren't harming the environment yourself. It's l the economics.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean about not being able to mine Crypto unintentionally or how it factors into the conversation but Cryptojacking exists and can use people's PCs.
If I might offer a bit of constructive criticism, I think there are a lot of issues with this that might make it inaccessible and unlikely to catch on.
The fact that the term is based on an inside joke. The acronym not really feeling accurate (why is an individual headmate referred to as a Senpia if the acronym calls it a plural internal experience?) The name itself not having its origin or meaning listed on the site. The fact that anyone who Googles it will have Google assume they meant Senpai.
And I think ideally, it would have been best to try to build a community first and show your commitment before asking for money to help setup a website. If there had already been quality guides on the page before you asked for donations, people might have been more inclined to see it as a pay-what-you-want service.

if you're generating some character pictures for a carrd or a tumblr page or your own references, or you're just looking for some inspiration for something you're doing or writing? go ahead. knock yourself out. i will coo over how pretty your characters are and support you all the way. plus, when you eventually need or want art you can use as a book cover or something, you'll have a reference to give an actual artist! that's excellent. artists love references, even if it's an artbreeder reference or something
if, however, you're generating 'art' that's basically a knock-off of someone else's work, selling it cheap to people who need book covers, generating it by the ton, lying about having drawn it yourself and so on: go fuck yourself. especially that last part. someone will always want to buy your shitty AI generated art, dont lie about it and scam people.
taking work out of the hands of artists who actually work hard and hone their craft and put love and time and energy into their pieces is shitty and shouldn't be done and will completely fuck the already pretty fucked artist economy
but if you're just generating something for a private project, inspiration or reference, that's okay. i don't see a problem with that.
it's just shitty that AI is stealing from artists, replicating their styles, replicating what they do, then taking work out from under them and acting like it's the next evolution.
it isn't. it's late stage capitalism sucking the soul out of yet another thing, something we all desperately need in our lives: art

Gender Statistics and Violence
Is Tumblr one of the last social media sites to let users post lists of sources without flagging it as spam or OfFeNsiVe? Let’s find out.
Background: Some guy in a YouTube video titled "Children Roast Polyamorous Women" by Think Before You Sleep, claimed that feminism, women getting rights, and the abolishment of forced gender roles is why the divorce rate is high and that marriages are "ruined". I commented saying that it might actually be because men are statistically more likely to abuse, cheat, abandon, etc. User Polydopamine replied t my comment: "Procure the statistics that men are more likely to abuse, cheat, and abandon. I can procure actual studies that confirm that domestic violence is 50-50, and in some cases (like Australia), women are leading in domestic abuse and that women initiate over 80% of divorce fillings. How is doubling the workforce good for the economy, when wages are slashed in half with the doubling of the supply? Genuinely interested. How come homeownership has plummeted, median household income has plummeted against inflation and normalized PPP, and single-parent households have quadrupled, leading to an increase in teen incarceration, and decreased educational outcomes for the children involved? I am sure you are not just parroting feminist drivel and you can provide me with sources and citations, right? Surely."
I tried to link him my sources but YouTube kept auto-removing them. I tried just listing the links, I tried taking out the "." in the links and replacing them with "(dot)", I tried making a Carrd with the sources, I tried using PasteBin, I tried just using the text sources without the links, and everything gets butchered!
