13. So! I read Choices by snowberryrose and for a future in the mood for I was wondering if there were any other fics like that? Where jyl DOESNT go with the jins during the hunt. It's fine if it still ends as jiang yanli/jin zixuan but I'd like to see jyl sticking to her words and choosing her brothers first. Main protagonist of Beyond The Fogbound Unknowing

Zelutjoskhriva Mnelothuszria Etraklodinus Kirsevothazund is a 147-year-old intimidating and efficient Nephilim beast-slayer that silently roams the land. He’s often referred to as The Roaming Consumption because he eats the organs of his freshly deceased targets and drinks their blood. He has a very careful eye, ensuring that his movements aren’t being followed or some other event that will greatly hinder him and his mission. He’s aware of his surroundings and the potential risks associated with his job, helping him to make worthwhile decisions and uphold survival. Zelutjoskhriva is a taciturn man, only speaking to others either through asking questions, remarks, warnings, or simply responding to their inquiries. His impenetrable silence usually makes him a good listener, and is often viewed as a trustworthy and reliable member of Venator’s Wardrobe because of that. However, that’s only when he’s not in deep contemplation or distracted with other more important matters. Despite that, his excellent listening skills can help him to thoroughly understand a situation or a person’s circumstances. With this, he can utilise his emotional intelligence and wisdom to make connections and/or resolve a problem through conversation. He has a decent photographic memory, which is very helpful during investigations on sudden Æylphitus attacks.

He shows a strong desire to keep his community, friends, coworkers, family (his daughter to be more specific), and those who he views as vulnerable safe from injury or damage. He has very high respect for women and the matriarchy, and believes that chauvinism is a plague on both sexes. Zelutjoskhriva is very compliant with the orders and certain requests he’s given and expected to perform. He has astonishing resource management skills, helping him to be prepared and well-organised before performing his duties. He can be somewhat snarky towards those he can care less about, making him come off as a rudely critical person. He’s stoic and down-to-earth, being able to endure hardship without showing a hint of how he feels and having a firm grip on reality. However, his palpable stoicism can make him feel uncomfortably ruthless and unbending. During his darkest hours, he feels like nothing but a mere shadow in the presence of others. He questions why he was born and if he should continue moving on with his life. He secretly feels useless and left behind by his peers and coworkers, yearning to be properly recognised beyond first impressions. He tends to feel guilt-ridden and hopeless, becoming less motivated to move on. He can also get fairly irritable and intolerable with other people, which often leads to aggressive threats and angry outbursts. He doesn’t have the greatest self-esteem, which often leads him to being extremely critical of himself and downplaying his positive qualities.

He is one of the shorter known Nephilim to ever grace the multiverse, appearing to be approximately 7’ 8” (233.68 cm). Zelutjoskhriva has a milky white complexion, rough skin, and noticeably muscular, mesomorphic build, possessing a powerful frame and broad shoulders. He has a large, distinguishable birthmark that’s a lovely shade of purple tanzanite. It partially covers the right side of his face and a small portion of his upper neck. He has a medium-sized, pointed tongue and angelic saliva glands that can burn naturally sinful things. Like all Nephilim, he has feathery patches of wisteria, fountain blue, yellow-orange, and red-violet adorning his form, which can be seen on his back, chest, crotch, and outer thighs. His coarse hands possess razor-sharp claws and he has bone-crushing, carnivorous teeth. His left eye is a pink lavender with a poppy red iris with a saffron dot in the middle, while his right eye is cloudy shadow green. Zelutjoskhriva has long, curly hair that reaches slightly over the middle of his back and is a greying Indian khaki to petite orchid, but it’s often braided or up in a ponytail. His secret bodily weakness or physical Achilles’ heel is the radius bone, which is part of the skeletal system.

He’s often seen wearing his iconic wide-brimmed traveller’s hat, one that is the hue of black onyx. His long, glossy black cloak has a high, pointed collar as well as the metallic green and violet sheen of a Eurasian magpie. He usually covers his entire being (except his head) with this darkened cloak, which helps him to conceal any weapons and keep a low profile. In order to hide his partial blindness and most of his birthmark, he wears a theatrical mask of polished brass, one that has an eerily blank, neutral expression. Whenever he pulls back his cloak, it’s revealed that he wears a fancy waistcoat of wisteria blooms with a golden lapel chain. His waistcoat is worn over an alabaster dress shirt and a silky, striped necktie of powder blue, royal yellow, and mantis green. Zelutjoskhriva also wears a lavish pair of formal cinereous trousers with vertical, platinum grey stripes. He possesses a nazar amulet that a friend gave him, two bandoliers that form an X-shape, and a handgun holster, which is attached to his belt. He also wears a kyanite thumb ring on his left hand, a rose quartz solitaire on his right index finger, and an ametrine signet on his left middle finger.

He’s commonly seen carrying a large cross of rosewood with a shoulder strap and two nailed corpses on each side, one is feminine and the other is masculine. These humanoid corpses are cut in half and have a clear, marbled stone in the middle of their chests, which are white (female) and black (male) respectively. These stones hold the spiritual psyche of Thuszemona and Uyrszamen, two Gorclatenius who act as his servants. He carries a few items on his person, which consists of a golden pocket watch, a pack of minty cigars, a glaive, and two firearms. His first weapon of choice is a cursed, two-handed glaive that has a curved, single-edged tapering blade and a 7 ft (213.36 cm) handle. His second is a selective fire, muzzle-loaded submachine long gun with a sling, appearing to be a unique hybrid between a long rifle, flintlock musket, and the PPSh-41, but it has a sling. This particular weapon is half his height and is used to deal heavy damage on his enemies from a distance. The last weapon he wields is a semi-automatic pistol equipped with a silencer and it’s partially modelled after the Desert Eagle. The submachine long gun is called the Dicentra Sulphur WJ6Z4-239057, while the pistol is named the Bleach-Skinned Camelopardalis. Lastly, he has a satchel that he uses to hold onto small souvenirs, a couple of novels, 3 or 4 coals, and a fire-resistant white glove.

Zelutjoskhriva is capable of manipulating his own organic mass, but can only use it to either partially or fully heal his injuries. He can generate force fields that help to prevent incoming attacks, but chooses to use it and the aforementioned ability 2-4 times every second day. This is because it drains a decent chunk of his life energy and he has difficulties controlling his absorption ability. On that note, he can consume the memories, emotions, and life energy of other living creatures. However, as already mentioned, he has trouble utilising absorption because it can overwhelm his senses and leave him paralysed for half a week in some coma-like, epileptic state. His biological senses are significantly more heightened than the average human. His stamina helps him to perform certain physically taxing activities and actions for days on end without worrying about immediate exhaustion. Due to his extraordinary strength, he can lift and even move hundreds of billions of pounds and strike with the force of a hydrogen bomb. He possesses intuition, pattern-solving, information storage and retrieval, logical and philosophical structuring, wisdom, and comprehension that’s beyond the human ability to understand. Zelutjoskhriva is also capable of speaking, writing, and understanding any language he has never heard before. Interestingly enough, his blind eye can detect the auras of other people, sensing their emotions and moral alignment on a visual level. He possesses biokinesis and sancti-pyrokinesis, and he can purify people by touching their lips with hot coal. He uses Thuszemona and Uyrszamen to obtain oracles that are etched into the fabric of the multiverse. He uses their chest stones to perform cleromancy, which is a form of divination by casting lots.

Sanctuary part two

Dear diary, the strangest thing happened yesterday. I was taking a stroll on my lands when I heard someone stomping about. I put up signs warning off trespassers, for their own safety. But apparently large signs reading "Keep out: this land is full of diseased parasites and carnivorous beasts" are not effective.

I found the trespasser, a filthy young man and half dead by the looks of him. He tried to scream and run when he saw me, a reasonable course of action, but the effort knocked him over. I obviously had no desire to let him drown in knee deep swamp water, so I picked him up and carried him home.

His flesh was covered in parasites and infected cuts. Fearing for his life, I got him into a bath. I had to fill the tub multiple times to get him adequately clean. I warmed the water over a fire before filling the tub, to offset the chills he had caught. The worst part was getting the leeches off. I rather like leeches, as a rule, only not when they are latched onto someone I'm trying to bathe. I released them back into the swamp. His clothing was not salvageable, so I let him borrow some things of mine. I wasn't sure what to do with his hair. It's not nearly as curly as mine, which I am fully accustomed to. I brushed it out the best I could.

By this point, he was slightly more conscious. Babbling on and on. I could not make heads or tails of his words. As I don't keep food stocked in my pantries, I had to harvest from the orchard. Luckily, much of the fruit is ripe this time of year. I think I will make him jam to keep through the winter. I also caught and butchered a duck. My surprise guest was in much better spirits after gorging himself on food, collapsing into slumber soon after.

I took him up to a guest bedroom and laid him down to sleep. I stayed with him to ensure he did not worsen in his illness. He had horrible nightmares, but I did not wake him. Good sleep is vital to recovery. When he awoke, it was around two in the morning. He had quite the start upon seeing me in the room with him. We got to talking. I discovered his name to be Mordecai. I very much like the sound of it. It is delightful to repeat, like eccentricity or misanthrope. I applaud whoever coined these wonderful words.

But that is beside my point. He broke down weeping, begging me not to send him back. I had no idea where he had traveled from, so I made my inquiries. Apparently, he escaped from some religious order posing a threat to his life. His sister, a girl named Rahab, is still in the temple. I assume their place of worship where the members live would be considered a temple. Mordecai was vague on that point. I could not make out some of his words through the tears, but understood that I could not turn him away.

I did not want to make him feel like a burden, so I allowed him to start being helpful. Well, as soon as he is no longer ill. Not having to hunt and kill humans will be a good change of pace. He agreed immediately, and I left him to rest. I will prepare more food. I used to love cooking, and I hope the skill returns to me in due time.

This is the longest diary entry I have made in some time. I think my life has gotten quite a lot more interesting. I wonder how long modern humans live for.

The Giant (9/16)

------Chapter 9------

Chester woke up the next morning before me, as his belly was grumbling for breakfast since neither of us had eaten the previous night. I awoke to find myself cupped in his hand as he lifted me off his chest.

"Good morning," he yawned, "How are you feeling?"

I winced and rubbed my bandages. "I'm hurting a little bit. What about your head?"

Chester gingerly touched his own bandage. "It's throbbing, but I'll be alright." He nuzzled me gently with his gigantic face. "I'm just glad you're alive."

"All thanks to you for saving me." I patted the bridge of his nose with my hand. "Let's get some breakfast." Chester carried me to the kitchen and set me down on the counter while he whipped up some French toast. "Chester?"

"Hm?" Chester responded to my inquiry as he cracked some eggs.

"What do humans taste like?"

Chester raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Well... each individual human tastes a little different. Some better than others I suppose. Men tend to have more of a hearty flavor, like a very high-quality cut of meat. Women are more likely to be sweeter, like a fine dessert."

"What about me? What do I taste like?"

The giant got a bit flustered at this line of questioning but still answered. "You're a perfect mix of both. Sweet and savory. Probably the best human I've ever eaten." He flushed at this remark and eyed me cagily. The color drained from my face as I realized his mouth was watering, and the look he was giving me was not entirely innocent in intentions.

"We probably shouldn't discuss this topic while I'm hungry," Chester added hurriedly, averting his eyes and turning his attention back to his cooking. I silently agreed and continued watching him without speaking. Soon enough he completed the task and piled up a mountain of food on a huge platter. Almost without thinking, he placed me on top of the stack and carried the plate to the dining room table. I felt a twinge of alarm at this development. After the horrors of the day before I wasn't ready to be eaten again, not this soon. Was he expecting me to comply with his desires? I wasn't sure.

As soon as he set the plate down, I scrambled off the mound of food and onto the safer area of the table. The giant acknowledged my action with a curt nod and cut off a piece of French toast for me to munch on. He also gave me a monstrous blueberry that was the size of a beanbag chair. Sighing in relief that I was not about to be devoured, I ate my breakfast while he dug into his meal with his usual voracity. I appreciated that he was willing to respect my wishes in spite of his carnivorous urges. Not to mention, it was mostly my fault that I had warmed up his appetite in the first place with my naïve questions. I made a mental note never to broach the subject before the giant was about to eat.

Once Chester had thoroughly cleaned his plate, we went to his study so he could get some writing done. I picked one of my new magic books to read and Chester opened it to the first page for me, then got to typing. The book was written by giant scholars who could not themselves use magic, so it was mostly secondhand information gleaned from old documents, witness accounts, and interviews with human wizards in the distant past, who may or may not have been under duress when passing along the information, with some speculation thrown in. From what I read, there were lots of different types of magic and spells. Not every human was capable of using magic, and even those who could may not be able to cast all categories of spells. The individual had to have a particular aptitude, or consume a special concoction that would grant him magical power. Additionally, a new magic user required the use of a special object such as a staff or wand to channel energy.

Essentially, most magic could be broken down into traditional elemental classifications, such as fire, lightning, water, ice, earth, wind, light, and shadow. There were other oddball categories like blood and metal as well. Even if the spell itself did not explicitly express an element, the underlying type of magic involved had some sort of elemental basis. For example, a healing spell might have light or blood magic as a base, depending on the spellcaster's aptitude.

The book contained a list of ingredients and known methods by which a human could obtain magical abilities. As I scanned through them, I noticed that many were extremely specific and wildly impractical, or were things I had never heard of: for instance, metal magic required a mysterious substance called "milk of magnesia." Interestingly enough, the power of lightning could be unlocked by getting struck with magical lightning, which had happened to me when I was transported to the Land of Giants. So, lightning may be a good choice for me to start with. Blood magic looked like another promising option, since it necessitated the human in question to drink the blood of a giant or unicorn--obviously the former was readily available, not so much the latter.

According to the text, for a novice such as myself, a magical object would still be needed for me to access my potential powers. The book provided a catalogue of materials that would suffice to craft such an object, none of which I recognized. Perhaps Chester would know. Alternatively, magical powers could manifest in circumstances when the spellcaster was under extreme duress or in a life-threatening situation. The aspiring wizard would need to practice drawing out their powers with meditation or chants beforehand. A combination of all these methods may be required for some people, if they were not naturally inclined to using magic.

Since the book was written for giants, not humans, it had pertinent information for them as well. The book sternly cautioned against eating wizards alive, since their abilities were dangerous enough to destroy a giant from the inside. Apparently in the past some scholars had theorized that giants could gain magical powers from consuming human wizards, but this belief was proven false, as no giant had ever been able to use magic, even after filling their bellies with wizards. I took some comfort in the fact that if I ever did learn to use magic, I could save myself from being digested if a giant swallowed me again, a circumstance that seemed likely given I had already been eaten twice now. I was extremely lucky to still be alive at this point.

Engrossed in my book, I failed to notice that Chester had ceased typing and was watching me read, until he gave a small cough to get my attention. I turned around and craned my head back to look up at him.

"Learn anything interesting?" he asked me with a slight tilt of his head.

"Absolutely," I answered enthusiastically. "Actually, I wanted to ask you about something on one of the previous pages over here." Chester observed as I walked over to the opposite side of the book and struggled to turn back the oversized pages. With a small smile, he reached out his giant hand and flipped to the page I wanted with minimal effort.

"Here." I pointed to the materials for crafting a magical object. "Do you know what any of these are?" Chester perused the list with a furrowed brow.

"Most of these I'm not familiar with," he admitted as he skimmed the page. "However..." He planted his finger, thick as a tree trunk, on one of the entries. "This one here. Lapis lazuli. It's a type of stone, should be pretty easy for us to get."

"Great. If I obtain that stone, I could make a necklace or bracelet with it. Then I might be able to use magic," I explained to Chester.

"Ok." He paused for a moment. "Do you want me to go to the market now to buy some? You probably shouldn't come with me though..." His face fell.

"Y-yeah, that's fine. Definitely for the best," I replied quietly. As I recalled the horrible memories of that last encounter, I couldn't stop myself from quaking uncontrollably. In response, Chester reached down and cradled me in his hands.

"Shhhh, it's okay. You're safe now. I'll protect you," the giant cooed in a soothing voice. He pressed his plush lips against me in a soft kiss. "I won't let anything happen to you." I nodded, blinking back tears. He held me against his chest for a few minutes, rocking back and forth gently. Once I calmed down, he put me back on the desk and opened another book for me to read. Then, he left the house, which felt eerily quiet without his massive form moving around. I settled in and began reading while I waited for him to come back.

I'm not sure how much time passed, because I was immersed in my books again, but I did notice that the sky was becoming soft outside and Chester still hadn't returned. The other book I had been reading went into details about specific spells, the type of magic required for their use, and how to cast them. Apparently, spells were not truly based on fancy hand movements or incantations: These devices could aid a wizard in visualizing a spell in his mind, but were not actually a part of the spell. Mostly the process involved drawing up the correct form of magic and willing it to life through force of mind. Sounded mysterious.

I decided to try some of the tips given for magical meditation. All of the books so far confirmed that force of mind or will would strengthen with focused introspection. I laid down on my back, closed my eyes, and daydreamed for a while. I must have fallen asleep because next thing I knew I heard the front door open and close. Chester walked into the study carrying a bag of fast food. Immediately I noticed he seemed off. His face was pale, he had a new bruise on his forearm, and his clothes looked ruffled.

"What happened Chester? Are you okay?"

"It's nothing. Don't worry about it." He sounded tired. I decided not to push the issue. The giant brought his hand down and lifted me up so I was still lying flat in his palm. I looked up at him with dreamy eyes. Even when he looked disheveled, I still found him strikingly handsome. He was deep in thought and distracted, not focused on me. Rather than eating in the dining room like we usually did, Chester went to the living room and plopped down on the couch, kicking up his feet on the coffee table. He dropped me on the couch next to him and turned on the TV. He dug into the bag of fast food and stuffed a handful of greasy fries into his mouth. After handing me a piece of fry and a chunk of his burger, he wolfed down more fries and demolished the rest of the burger. I ate my food in silence and watched him with concern. While it was normal for the giant to eat aggressively, he appeared to be distressed in some way. I debated internally whether to ask him about his mood, but he was the one who spoke first.

"Jackie, why do you want to learn magic so much?"

I was not expecting this question but realized there much be some weight to it, considering his mood. I chose my words carefully but answered honestly. "Learning magic is the only way for me to get back to the human world where I belong."

"I see." There was a long pause. I searched his face high above me and to my surprise he looked dreadfully sad. Almost as if he would cry. He tried to hide it by quickly standing up and mumbling something about needing to wash the grease off his hands. He went to the kitchen and left me alone on the couch. Since I was so small compared to the furniture, I couldn't see him at all over the arm of the couch. What was he so upset about? I didn't understand.

When he came back into the room, I expected him to sit back down on the couch, but instead he turned off the TV and remained on his feet. In the darkness I wasn't able to see his expression, just his gargantuan form standing over me. He leaned down and cupped me in his hands. He took me into the bedroom, where we undressed for bed. The pale moonlight coming in through the window gave everything a soft glow. Chester laid on his side and brought me to his chest. I snuggled up to his mountainous frame, enjoying the warm softness of his giant body. He hadn't said a word but I could still tell he was upset. I decided to try talking to him once more.

"Chester, what's wrong? Talk to me."

He didn't answer right away, instead opting to hold me tighter against his chest. I felt his heart rate quicken. Finally, he spoke up. "I don't... I don't want to lose you."

"What do you mean?"

He sighed heavily. "I don't want you to leave. I'm afraid that if you go to the human realm, you won't want to come back, and I'll never see you again."

I looked up at his face. "Chester... you know I can't stay here forever."

He gazed down at me sadly. "I know. I didn't want to tell you, but I ran into that other giant at the market again. That's why I came home so late. I had to fight him off, and take a roundabout way home so he wouldn't find out where I live."

I shivered at the thought of that horrible giant. Chester sighed again. "I know it's not safe for you in the Land of Giants. I know you have a life back at home, friends and family. I have no doubts that you would be better off living with your kind. But..." He swallowed hard. "You have to understand, I was so lonely, living up here by myself in the woods all this time. And then you came along, a blessing from the sky, a tiny little woman who could fit in the palm of my hand. So sweet and kind, even forgiving me when I had a lapse in judgement and swallowed you. I guess what I'm trying to say is... I think I'm in love with you."

I stared up at Chester in shock. I had secretly harbored feelings for him, but I didn't think he would seriously consider me, an insignificant little human, as a love interest. While he had given me obvious signs of his love, I had dismissed them as wishful thinking on my part and forced down my own feelings. The idea of a human and a giant in a romantic relationship was absurd, and I had felt ashamed of myself for even entertaining it. And yet... his big heart had mirrored mine the whole time.

I jumped out of his hand and clambered up his pillow to his face. When I reached his full lips, I gave him a passionate kiss, the best I could muster despite the vast size difference between us. Even in the moonlight I could see the bloom of pink on his cheeks in response.

"Oh Chester... I love you too! More than anything! I didn't know you felt the same way," I confessed breathlessly. "You need not fear, I won't abandon you." I climbed onto the side of his face and nuzzled his cheek. "Just because I want to see my family doesn't mean I won't come back. After all, if I'm able to manifest portals I should be able to go back and forth as I please."

Chester raised his hand to his face and caressed me with his fingers. "Thank you... I feel so much better now." His eyes were glassy with tears. I curled up on his cheek, under the warmth of his hand, and petted the side of his face. With our hearts full, we fell asleep together.

Do you think the cats would have ever done autopsies at any point in their history? I feel like it could be oneof the explainations as to how ther medical capabilities wiuld have improved. However idk how theyd feel about that religiously and or socially.

I think it's pretty likely. Clan cats don't have the same taboos against inquiry that Christianity did. Not to mention that as a hunting society full of obligate carnivores, it's pretty common to just see organs on a regular basis.

I imagine it was especially common in the distant past, around the Dawn of the Clans, when all the medicine cats were Moth Flight and her direct children. ThunderClan, ShadowClan, RiverClan, and WindClan wouldn't have too many issues with their medics learning more things together, as long as they came back (since they were 'rightfully stolen') at the end of the day.

Stepping up to the doors, a deep breath through his nostrils gave him every bit of information he needed. “Found ya, you smelly bastard.” With a kick to the middle of the frame, the doors flew off the hinges and slammed onto the tile flooring, cracking it. The lone male inside let out a squeal of fright and cowered behind the desk, his sweaty face peered over the expensive mahogany wood. “Y-you,” the older man stuttered, then cleared his throat. “You sir, are a member of Eclipse Nexus?” The lift at the end of his inquiry sounded less natural than a salad at a carnivore banquet, Gajeel decided. He grinned at the obvious fear of his target.

Chapter 19 is finally up! Been a bit longer to get this posted than I wanted since my sleep phase of my meds hit me harder than I thought. Since last weekend, all I have been doing is sleeping.

2014. Folk taxonomy in ethnic groups: controversy and nature.

Speculation is based on folk taxonomy what is widespread applied by humans elsewhere. Folk taxonomy is common used by investagation known as cryptozoology (see e.g. B. Brent et al. 1966, C. Arment 1995, M. Raynal 1999, L. Rossi pers. comm.). Creatures as east african proteus or black sea snake are in fact different animals that are described as being evil or attacked people or possess for they danger. Creatures of cryptozooogy in great quantity come from natural world. We must get to know about "jumping creatures" that a few animals known as one creature. We call them "few creatures that are one". They are the most dangerous for peculiar ethnic groups and hence called as one. We called them unknown animals, but in fact plenty of them are folk taxonomic approach for scientific known species/ It is folk taxonomy of primary ethnic groups, that not distinguished for something like as false or true. Primary ethnic groups does not distinguish between false and true. They just know (M. Ballot 2012). Some creatures is known as wonderful and dangerous (e.g. cultural creatures). Maimanto, great "rat" that grow under the ground and is in fact folk memory of found skeletons of pleistocene proboscid. There are also "strange animals" that are known by Iraqi people. In fact these are rare animals in the areas and they occur as strange only in folk taxonomy, especially new for mind (W. Bassem 2013). Folk taxonomy is available for yearling and old animals as different ones, as well as pelage forms possess other folk names.

wild human In nowadays, chuhunna or yabalik-adam are still ethnoknown name for feral humans that are occured in field ( B. Heuvelmand and B. Porshev 1974, S. Nikolaev unpublish. ) They are in most cases genetically the same as other humans in the region, hence it is impossible to distinguish them from other humans. Some wild man is folk name for humans being known as other ethnic or genetically divergent populations. Most of world human populations are involved in domesticated humans. Some of humans are wild or rewilded. They live in primitive conditions. Suppose, wild hairy man, bigfoot or almas was firstly recognized as "the other" primitive hunter-gatherers, more hairy, well-build. In nowadays, greatly they are "only" feral modern humans, for quite well generations of course. Their descriptions was borrowed from "the others" nature. They mated with civilized humans. It is possible also that those rampant feral humans, called as "wild man" are descendants of first human inhabitants of region that are differen each of another. We called them primitive races or more properly distinct populations, e.g. running around, forest dwelling and berry-eating czau-czau, etc. They live in remote or fearful plateaus. Their hairy appearance is not mainly based on appearance but especially feral nature and folk memory changes through time. Nature is holistic creature and "they" or other archaic populations (e.g. neanderthal) live in nowadays within our genes, within us.

pterosaurus and dinosaurus I am almost sure that kongamoto and olitau are folk names for magnificent and dangerous species of fruit-eating bats living across Africa (I. Sanderson 1972). These are charismatic species with membranous wings and mouths full in sharp teeths. Mokele-mbembe memory are in the fact folk taxonomy of locally now-extinct black rhinoceros and reptile creatures: tortles and monitor lizards that can remint them mokele-mbembe (in lingula culture) or black rhinoceros (in modern culture, BBC reports). Dale Drinnon (2011) rightly pointed out that water "plesiosaur" is turtle-shaped category and biologically is African softshelled turtle (Trionyx triunguis).

rare creatures in folk memory Existence of unknown carnivores in lost areas of Africa and South America is not so impossible. Because of many yet populations of mammals was not studied before and we discovered quite valuable populations in isolated regions, thus existence of small races with relatively small fangs is more than possible. These animals live in small relict populations are probaly existed yet in areas or more yet to north on swamps e.g. in north-west Africa. They live in very low density and prefer secretive ground or tree-dwelling life style. We had some skin of these carnivores. Remember, they live in very low density (rare as other mammalian carnivores in tropics) as relict endemics. For example, following by the Bernard Heuvelmans (1958) mngwa is in superstition tradition of golden cat increased in size to lion (K. Shuker, unpubl.) I think that golden cat could be rather barely known by natives, and current answer to mngwa is rather night-activity behaviour of striped hyaena, which is different in activity than hyaenas living during at day. Leopons or other large cats are contributed of ancient folk memory.

mapinguary Existed in native folklore as giant standing on two legs with two oral openings, it is supposedly one of the most ferocious creatures destroying track of forest. The legend could be transformed by folklore in long-preserved folk memory of giant sloth. Mystery is simple recognize in fact the opposite to previous arkana relict. Mapinguari is now-only-in-mind creature of folklore that is assigned to be giant anteater standing on back legs, scream of wild pigs and old tribal man living out of villagers (P. Spein 2011).

water monsters It is know that sea monsters are depiction of fear toward unrecognized resources of water and monstrosity. We, virtually must realize of that creatures inhabit freshwater lakes and rivers, as well as sea monsters as in mostly described by current science or totally non-biological artefacts or only objects floating on the water surface. Some of observed animals could be unknown yet like colosal squid sp., but smaller, non-conspicuously unknown species are barely recognized by accidentaly human observations that its proper taxonomic position or its absence. Some of the less popular water creature is relict snake, dwelling in the Black Sea ( A. Tavritchesky pers comm.).

tatzelwurm It is believed that so-called tatzelwurm, creature of alpine rocks is kind of small predatory mammal. It is quite obvious theory. Some speculate that ferocious and longed, short-legged, cat-headed animal is mustelid unseen by autochtons as they live under night (e.g. otter) and in remote areas at day (e.g. weasel). It is speculated that short-legged mustelids are folk name for tatzelwurm (e.g. Doblhoff-Dier). Karl Meusburger (1931) supposed that by tatzelwurm records are responsible molted or mange mustelids.
