Normally I would be very offended on Bi-Han’s behalf for anyone to imply his skills are second-rated but considering 

the possibility this opinion could come from Titan Shang Tsung and 

how downplayed the supernatural powers feel to be in story mode alone

I’m willing to give Shang Tsung the benefit of doubt. MK1!Bi-Han shows some nice control over ice, as he shape it in various weapons

and can immobilize someone with freezing blast (and yes, I remember all Lin Kuei held back during the test for Raiden and Kung Lao)

or ice skid

but compared to original cryomancers and skills included in previous story modes?

The full-body ice teleport?

Freezing people wholly?

Making the combo of ice slide + ice weapon + freezing enemy?

And though it may not be strictly related to cryomancer skills and just cryomancer strenght and brutality, the ripping someone's spine solely to hit Scorpion's in the face with it?

I love all versions of Bi-Han but the MK1's one is for sure something different compared to the original Sub-Zero brothers.

it fucking kills me that i have seen NO ONE talking about the reaction jess jordan, kendall roy’s assistant, has. because it is jess, and rava and sophie roy, who have the reactions that twitter and reddit and all the succession lovers are looking for in shiv, for some goddamn reason. it’s jess who not so subtly pleads with greg to delay calling the election, who is blown off dismissively and ignorantly by greg who cannot understand or even SEE how strong of a panic reaction she is havjng. to him, and every other roy and tom and everyone else at their level, this is just another crazy day with literally zero consequences. a fascist dictator president will literally not change the quality of their lives as rich white people. but it will change jess’ life, as a biracial woman. it will change rava and sophie roy’s lives, in spite of kendall’s money and protection. and the show purposefully cuts off their reactions — jess blinking fast and breathing hard and about to have a panic attack meltdown in the hallway, rava and sophie scared in the back of an SUV — because the show isn’t about them. the show is about the roys, who do not care about the consequences of their actions, partially because they never have to SEE the consequences of their actions. greg does not see jess freaking out; even when she is clearly panicked in front of her he cannot see her pain and if he could, he wouldn’t care. it’s only when he turns his back on her that she starts to break down, which is a great if painful blocking choice. not only is it realistic — she can’t lose face in her workplace, she can’t react negatively when she works for the guy who owns the Devil Right Wing Fascist TV Network, and she most certainly can’t react any way people don’t like because she is one of the few, if not the only, black women in the building and working for the roys. while greg sighs and laughs about this day being crazy, she is having a meltdown as she fears what this election result means to her. if rava, a wealthy woman of color with a powerful ex husband, is scared, how much more scared is jess? is everyone else under jess?

but the show cuts off her reaction and takes us back to shiv because this show is from the roy’s pov, and this episode is largely from shiv’s pov. shiv “cares about democracy” and the country to an extent, because democracy only effects her to an extent. she knows on paper this election is bad news. she also knows it’s not going to change her life directly because she’s rich. like her brothers, who do not care at all who is President, who only care about which candidate will give them what they want, shiv is more upset because this election means she isn’t getting what she wants. she’s going to lose her power in the potential matsson deal. because that is how the roys chose who would be president: they chose the candidate they could buy and who could sell them control over their interests for the lowest number, and meincken outbid jimenez by a landslide. tldr the reaction people are looking for in shiv and in the roys were there, but in jess and rava. and even rava and jess aren’t progressives, aren’t “feminist icons”, they’re also complicit and victimized all at once, like shiv is, but with far less say and power. it’s almost like… the show about face eating leopards… is making a point that if you get in a cage with a hungry leopard, at some point you will run out of steaks to throw at it and it, too, will eat your face off. huh.

I love toxic Starbreaker but I also love the idea of Porter just having this huge crush on the one guy that continually reaches out to try to understand him, so orchestrates it that Jace went to the mountains of chaos with the H5H.

Jace was blissfully unaware about any plans until the end of Spring Break. He never liked Porter like that but hasn't figured out how he's gonna talk his way out of this situation so is just going along with it for now.

Thinking about Illari, and where she fits into the larger Overwatch universe.

Of course, the default assumption is that she will join Overwatch, but then I also started thinking...what if she got recruited by Talon?

She's young, alone, emotionally compromised and therefore extremely vulnerable. I'm envisioning a scenario where her powers get out of control again (I imagine she still doesn't have full control over them yet, and still experiences deadly "bursts", especially when she's battling strong emotions), and, after a particularly bad outburst, she gets approached by Doomfist. He shows no fear of her, and tells her that her power is incredible, but that she needs someone to help her learn to control them. Of course there'd be pushback from "I don't need anyone" Illari, but Doom plays the long game, especially when he wants something. And God would he want Illari's power on his side.

Illari is tough and incredibly strong, but she's barely an adult, she's got nobody in the world to look out for her, and, maybe most dangerously, she's purposeless. A charismatic person like Doomfist assuring her he could help her make the world a better place, that she could master her powers with Talon's help, that she could ensure what happened to her at her ceremony never happens again...I don't know. I think she could be manipulated into ending up with them, at least temporarily (though of course I would hope not - poor girl needs recovery, not Talon's BS)

look I am not here to debate whether daemon targaryen’s motives re: rhaenyra are pure or not cause I frankly do care, I am here for the combined familial-romantic-political targ drama and DRAGONS

hotd!daemon is making his way through life on instinct and vibes alone. he is the indiana jones or the jack sparrow of westeros, he’s making this shit up as he goes along. he’s relying on rule of cool and refuge in audacity and he knows it. i am 95% sure at least five times in his life he’s said “thinking ahead is for ugly people” and meant it.

soooo interesting to me that misty is like. so shameless / guiltfree / nonchalant about the cannibalism & cult & poisoning & murder of it all like she is NOT haunted by those 19 months the way literally every other girl is bc she did what she did and she had fun doing it! and yet she literally also cannot listen to stayin' alive for five seconds bc it reminds her of crystal, who she technically didn't even kill. lol. 🔨

Oh! You might’ve seen me mention Jack’s tombstone in a previous ask! I've seen the Workprint, and I have MANY, MANY thoughts about it!

For one - I loved seeing Santa Claus and Sally working together, they’re a great duo! It was nice to see them coming up with a plan to help Jack and putting it into execution. Dressing up one of the skeletons was a cute touch, and Jack ‘acting’ like he was in pain while hiding with Sally & Zero was funny! I just...loved the whole thing. <3

This Workprint shows something SUPER interesting, though -- and that’s Oogie Boogie and his bugs. He actually sends a *huge* swarm to Jack, who has to run because the bugs eat/destroy everything in its path, including a fellow skeleton in a cage. It might’ve been a *nightmare* for the animators to do that in stop motion, as Oogie’s unraveling scene took a long time to make, so I understand why the concept didn’t make the cut. But, still! It’s a GREAT example of what Oogie is capable of, and how he’d make an equal match against Jack!

Also, Sally’s big smile when Jack’s realizing that she understood all along 🥺 ...also also.....his hand around her waist... 👀

No offense but I feel like Kuai was kind..of you know, destructive as a baby. Seriously those fire powers probably ended up burning a few things by mistake like curtains wooden items.

I imagine they had to fireproof things because Kuai kept sending fireballs at prizes possessions and was a natural hazard. He nearly lit Bi-Han on fire on several occasions all because he sneezed.

You know… if that was true, then it could explain why in the Cage Mansion, when Liu Kang burst into flames, Sub-Zero was no fazed that much XDD

Also the "oh you just like Adam and that's why you hate the show" asks are hilarious because like...my ideas for "Adam" in my rewrite draft would most likely piss off majority of Adam stans LMAO.

My father-in-law wants us to get rid of our dog because he’s a pit/boxer mix. The issue, obviously, being the pit part. We’ve had this guy for just about 3 months and he decided to call us up (and rant for thirty minutes!) to say he feels unsafe because “Ollie is a risk.” All because of his breed. And Oliver hasn’t shown any aggression, he’s literally so well behaved and we’re starting training next week to make sure everything is good to go. He does well in Petsmart, he doesn’t really ever bark at strangers, he played well at the dog park. But all because he’s a pit, he thinks we should take him back to the shelter.

I’m beyond furious because adopting this dog was one of the first huge decisions my partner and I made together. And this asshat wants to undermine everything we do. He doesn’t even think we should have a dog at all, because my partner is still in college. MEANWHILE, I’m about to start a work from home job and be in the house basically 6 days a week. So what the hell is that even about? He literally just wants to control our lives and we didn’t consult him before adopting.

So I'm personally generally p sceptical of the specific phrase "state-sponsored trolls" bc in my experience the nature of ingrained reactionary propaganda is that you generally don't need to be state-sponsored and the insistence that states (be it Israel, the US, China, whoever) must be Paying People To Disagree With You seems to me to be a pathway to conspiratorial thinking whatever direction is going in. Maybe it's sometimes true but it doesn't need to be true.

People can hold shitty fucking genocidal opinions which make no sense in the face of facts all by themselves without being paid to do so. This is particularly true for people who benefit from normalising colonial occupation and genocide, whether that's Israeli settlers or British nationalists or American christofascists. Israel doesn't need to be, and I say this phrase deliberately, ~controlling the media~ for people to make the most balls to the wall unhinged defences of genocide, because it's in many people's individual interest to do that regardless. You know. wrong about. they'll say 'it's bad when Israelis are killed!' as if that's in any way an argument against the statement 'it's bad when Palestinians are killed/oppressed'. these messages are constant, stock, and kneejerk, and exist to create too much noise for a meaningful conversation.

but no I don't agree with you on this message. partly bc of the above mentioned conspiratorial thinking (sometimes people just Are Wrong). partly bc you immediately in sentence 1 conflate the Israeli people with the Israeli state and that's some bullshit. Israel is a seller state and yes Israelis are responsible for their decisions when they knowingly steal from Palestinians at IDF gunpoint. but Israel is a whole country where people live their lives. Israelis are not a monolith nor are they individually responsible for the actions of their government, only for their own actions.

rule of thumb imo if you're engaging in any kind of good faith you gotta be really specific in acknowledging that Israelis =/= the state of Israel =/= Jews and Palestinians =/= Hamas/PA/PLO/any other faction =/= Muslims. We're talking about people here and people are not states.
