when i saw her art for the first time i immediately thought that there was something wrong, it's so clearly ai💀💀why no one fucking cares
im pretty sure she and all her friends use the excuse that shes "learning to draw now" therefore its not ai anymore... even tho she still uses ai to generate the image and just traces over it and claims its original art...
to the second half of your ask: because nobody here has a backbone. its all "live and let live" "fiction doesn't affect reality" "let people have fun" and nobody wants to actually critically think about media or fandom anymore. they just wanna do whatever they want and not be held accountable - they hide behind the guise of "well its fandom so its not a big deal!" for every shitty thing they do
unfortunately for them, im a hardcore long-time tumblr user and i am NAWT afraid to be a bitch and call someone out for unethical behavior. idgaf if its "just" fandom; hobbies require critical thinking skills too, whether you like it or not!

This is a VERY late reply and for that I am sorry 😭
But here goes. 1p + 2p America, Denmark, Prussia, and 2p Spain (my secret OC I use for roleplaying but you can see my friend’s art of him here)

Now, back to the ask—
Who doesn’t like Alfred? He’s cute, goofy, annoying, and serious if he wants to be. But I guess he’s always been special because he’s one of the first characters I ever wrote for. Also, there’s that ‘New York is the center of the universe’ trope. I’m not agreeing with that, but it’s easier to set stories in America and base it off him because I’m more familiar with the culture.
He’s also the most versatile for genres like horror and futuristic sci-fi. Science fiction + Alfred is a match made in heaven and I will DIE on this hill.
Allen has those same qualities, but I sometimes prefer him over Alfred. He’s a very personal character because I loosely based him off of myself. Some of his dialogue and arcs came from me. That’s probably why he feels so fleshed out. No further questions 🫣
Mathias is the newest character here. Like Alfred, he’s got a distinct balance of light and darkness. Honestly, it feels like he’s got more ☀️🌸✨ energy than Alfred, so when he switches up, damn. 💀Shocking, I know. I love playing around with his boundaries because he can be a POS too. And did I mention that he’s great for historical fics?
Gilbert is a little shit. He’s got pride, and it’s always great seeing him trip up all flustered. I don’t write for him here, but I roleplay with him using 2p Spain. His name is André. He’s witty, dark, but impossible to hate. Those two are a match made in hell.

Dante's my first & longest running character in roleplay, so I've been in the roleplay scene since late 2012, under various blogs/fandoms. With DmC remaining as my main area, I know most of how things work & how tense some parts can be. I wish to take no part in it, be it drama, call-outs, etc. Personal affairs between others, I also stray far away from. I simply want to enjoy this hobby among friends & new comers. Anyone who brings something on the table that may be distasteful in nature, or what have you, will just be blocked. Simple as that ...
However, I am a friendly person and open to writing with anyone. Just be a decent person, don't be a dick to me or those close to me and we're golden.
I'd like to state, I will be 'mutuals-only' on this blog. & I don't plan to curate a super huge following here, either. More on 'the why' can be seen in the Activity Status section.
I like to give my own sort of twist to canon characters, to make them somewhat more unique/my own interpretation. So, expect that from me.
Dark topics may be and will be explored here; such as mature language, religious corruption, cult references, descriptive sex & artistic nudity, blood, gore, & other general dark topics. And though I know inc3st is something popular written in fandom, it is most definitely not something I'm going to, or even want to, write out. So, please don't pursue me under the impression that I'll write something like that with you.
The activity status of this blog will be permanently labeled as 'semi-active'. Which means, that I'll be mostly lurking rather than regularly posting or engaging for now. I will remain “flaky” in terms of staying in contact with others. The best way to talk would be discord, as I don’t have notifications for Tumblr enabled. This may change in the future, but with life as it is - Dante's blog, or roleplay at all - won't be such a high priority of mine.
I tend to block others for a list of reasons, ranging from not wishing to be mutuals - to the very fact you're friends/heavily interact with someone who's brought me or my loved ones grief. I rather not bring personal issues to a stranger, so blocking is my go to.

August Reading Check-In!
Is it a little late? Yes, mind your business 😹
I want to move my bookish updates back here since I'm not about training Elon Musk's AI. This update is gonna be a mix of mini-reviews, the current reading list, recent acquisitions, and a few upcoming releases to watch out for.
It's gonna be long, so keep reading if you dare. Or jump around to the bits you like!
Mini Reviews for July's Reads
Black Ghost of Empire by Kris Manjapra - 5 stars
A look at slavery and the emancipation processes across North America and the Caribbean in particular, as well as some of the colonization of Africa itself. Examines the way emancipations prioritized compensating slave-owners for lost "property" rather than restoring justice and reciprocity to the enslaved people who lost their labor, lives, and histories. Super informative, super vital, because they didn't teach this in US history. Just be prepared for an emotionally tough read.
The Veiled Throne by Ken Liu (The Dandelion Dynasty #3) - 3 stars
This is where the series finally ran into pacing issues for me, as many multi-POV epic fantasy series do. Mostly in the latter half. We had a very high-stakes storyline getting a slim chapter between multiple thick chapters about an all new setting and characters with a much lighter tone. I know heavy stuff needs to be broken up, but this was more frustrating than cathartic.
I am keeping in mind that TVT is technically the first half of what was supposed to be the final book, but the trilogy became a tetralogy because a 2000-page book would be ludicrous. Still, I feel it could've been broken down further, and we really need to allow more BIPOC writers the freedom to have sweeping, several-book-long series the way white authors can.
Get In Trouble by Kelly Link - 4 stars
These stories were quite a ride. Many featured messy people, places, and things. If we're being honest, the rating could bump up to 5 stars on a reread. There's just so much to unpack, and I'd need a closer reading, like studying scripture.
Current August Reads
• Trans-Galactic Bike Ride ed. by Lydia Rogue - As the subtitle reads, it's "Feminist Bicycle Science Fiction Stories of Transgender and Nonbinary Adventurers," written by queer authors. Technically I've actually already finished reading it, but I'll post about it separately at a later time!
• Babel by R.F. Kuang - BookTube's darling about a department at Oxford dedicated to translation and working silver- and translation-based magic for the glory of the empire. Problem is, some of the students and faculty are people from places on the receiving end of the empire's injustice. Down to the last 100 pages of this one!
• Speaking Bones by Ken Liu (The Dandelion Dynasty #4) - Despite my frustrations with the third book's pacing, I wouldn't dream of DNFing the series. The world is so lush and full, and the characters endearing. But there's another 1000 pages ahead, so this'll be on Current Reads lists for a while. 💀
• Lone Women by Victor LaValle - A young woman leaves her family home in flames and seeks a new life homesteading in Montana, a mysterious trunk in tow. I read LaValle's The Ballad of Black Tom a few years back, and really needed to read more of his stuff.
• Moonshot: The Indigenous Comics Collection Vol. 1 ed. by Hope Nicholson - Was very excited to see this at the library, as I've wanted to read it for a long time. The stories vary in genre, and I believe there are illustrated stories, individual art pieces, and even a song or poem by Buffy Sainte-Marie in addition to regular comics.
Recent Acquisitions
• Loot by Tania James - I actually won this print copy in a Goodreads giveaway! This is why I encourage those who are able to enter for anything they're interested in; it can happen to YOU lmao. Anyways, it's a book about a boy in India who constructs an automaton tiger for the Sultan, only to have it seized in war by the British. He goes to England to try to retrieve it.
• Vampires of El Norte by Isabel Cañas - My August Book of the Month pick. I enjoyed her debut, The Hacienda, and look forward to this one. Described with "Vampires and vaqueros face off on the Texas-Mexico border." I've seen reviewers describe it more as magial realism/historical fiction with vampires, rather than horror, though.
Upcoming Releases
No guarantee I'll pick these up... but here's some cool stuff coming out in the next month or so!
• From A Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi (August 29th) - Third collection of 40 short stories celebrating the 40th anniversary of Star Wars, this time inspired by elements of Return of the Jedi! I realized I still have to pick up the second collection, from The Empire Strikes Back, oh no!
• The Spirit Bares Its Teeth by Andrew Joseph White (September 5th) - YA horror featuring a trans autistic teen protagonist who can commune with the dead. He attempts to escape an arranged marriage, is sent to a Sanitorium & Finishing School, and is urged by the institution's ghosts to expose its dark secrets.

Omg so I decided to try the Faceplay app (essentially turns pictures into pretty anime art) that's trending on Tiktok and I wanted to try it with the girls. Now, most of the videos I saw using it used digital art and I worried that pictures of my art wouldn't produce as good as a result, so to be on the safe side I used your amazing art bc it would clearer. I don't think there should be an issue with that, but I hope that's okay lol
So Haruka and Momo first:
They both came out really pretty. Momo has rainbow hair for some reason?? It's cool though lol. One thing though is why are their clothes so... skin tight? 💀
And Misao... hmm...
For the most part she looks pretty. No idea where the pink eyes came from though lol. But her face... looks like it's sliding off halfway. Ig it fits her weird body horror aesthetic in a sense lmao. And she's got an odd mask thing?? No idea what's going on here-
And, ik this is long enough already, but bonus deer lady Haru:
Her hair's green for some reason and it looks nothing like her, but it's cute :)

I agree with Haru & Momo's clothing became skin tight. But i really like Momo's rainbow hair and i noticed Haruka had two coloured eyes; blue and pink👀
There's a strange pattern going on with these ai art... The ai also change the words of their names into something else. Haruka's one is the most sus if you read it slowly.
Misao looks pretty much the same and has somewhat a villain vibe going on. Ngl the pink eyes fits her well but her creepy smile is gone :( Also her crown turned into a metal clip??
Deer Haruka is so cute!! The green hair really matches with her purple dress♡♡

oooh I'll get around to reading six of crows one of these days. I remember booktok hyping up that and the shadow and bone trilogy which is partly the reason I haven’t read those two (booktok isn’t the best place to get book recs from imo) djfhhjf oh smart teenagers (even if fictious) are scary hkfgh i call it a good day if i can finish my assignments in chem in time (random but ochem totally kicks ass. But !! I did master the art of drawing hexagons neatly)
and PLS i finished maid sama and usui is def a 'perverted alien' but as a whole it was a nice, lighthearted one especially the ending <3 also moon do send some anime recs my way bc nothing beats depending on 2d characters for emotional support

chem assignments in hs made me wanna die and it did not help that my mother is a hs chemistry teacher. it just meant me sobbing into my chem textbook and raising a peace sign when my mom asked how it's going. i did like ochem tho, it was like solving puzzles!! the chemistry we learned in engineering was easier lol but not as fun as ochem. (yes, we love perfect hexagons in this household 🥰)

just watched black widow (pirated of course) and its ok but how gross of them to push the whole family view with their "parents" when one was responsible for the mind controlling yelena had to deal with and killed her friends because of it and also treated her and natasha as just part or her cover, and the other just cares about being a sovietic cap and both were ok with the girls being taken to the black widow program??
