Hi! What are your favorite Wenclair fics?👀
Tumblr media
I’m so glad you asked and I’m about to be so extra.
This fandom is beyond talented and I have many favourites. So I might as well make this an official Prefer-to-be-vilified Wenclair Fic Rec Masterlist… post (name could use some work but you get the idea).
I’m going to try to remember/link all my favourites but I’ll probably (definitely) forget some. And also I obviously haven’t read every Wenclair fic out there, my ‘to-read’ list is intimidatingly long and personal preferences are going to play a part in the fics I have included. But if I’ve missed some hidden gems please let me know!
Under the cut because this got long…
One-Shots/Short Chapter Fics:
the Witch & the Wyld by ohHOLYmoves - Long one-shot, Wednesday’s a witch who lives in the woods, Enid’s a werewolf stuck in her wolf form, need I say more?
Reset by Eggplant_Crusader - The OG. Probably the first fic read by a good portion of this fandom. Short, sweet, what the miscommunication trope is supposed to be.
her heart is a bird on a spit in her chest by lensbian_dykely - Long one-shot, Wednesday tells her parents that her and Enid are together without informing Enid.
What does he have that I don’t? by kofeew_milkk - Jealous Enid meets Werewolf instincts.
hello there, it’s me, the bull in the china shop by bogteats - Established Wenclair, 5+1 fic leading up to their first time.
I Think I Love You by tawen - Enid gets dosed with truth serum, Enid’s in love with Wednesday…
I Can Hear Your Heartbeat by LesbihonestGuys - Wednesday is a simp coming to terms with being in love and she’s real mad about it.
sandbox love by hanjisgirlfriend - Childhood friends falling in love.
gifts from a cat by Rennajade - Wednesday being a weirdo.
She’s my mate, Yoko! by lovely_shadow_minx - Enid realises Wednesday’s her mate and freaks out about it.
i tend to handle things usually by myself and i can’t ever seem to try and ask for help by Charlie_Balle - Wednesday’s actually allergic to colour.
The Art of Courting by Athems - Wednesday tries to court Enid but Enid thinks she’s threatening her.
Please (Just This Once) by whitebeltwriter - Wednesday trying to prevent a vision and the very emotional aftermath.
Wednesday Finds a Puppy by whitebeltwriter - Wednesday finds a random puppy in the woods and thinks it’s Enid… it’s not Enid.
Are You Going To Claim Your Prize? by wintersdume - The furs make a bet over who can get Wednesday’s number, Enid gets jealous.
It’s the Uniform, Isn’t it? by wintersdume - Enid plays baseballs, Wednesday gay panics.
Mobile Etiquette by Axinite25 - Wednesday not understanding the nuisances of teenage dating/friendship.
fuel the pyre of your enemies by heliamphoria - Wenclair meet cute while committing crimes.
Scrapped Scenes by MomochiZoey - Enid’s nosy and discovers that Wednesday’s self insert Viper now has a blonde love interest.
Premonition’s Embrace by whitebeltwriter - Wednesday has a vision that forces her to admit her feelings for Enid.
if she grabs for your hand (she might want a kiss) by ipretendtobesane - Short love confession, adorable.
Stormy Weather by SspiltDecision - Wednesday’s scared of thunder, Enid helps her.
don’t talk to me or my scary goth gf ever again by Kybee1497 - Protective (slightly feral) Enid and Xavier not taking a hint.
Complete Long Fics:
Terms of Endearment by Calchexxis - AU future fic/they didn’t meet at Nevermore, Enid goes to the Addams family for help after being kicked out of her pack for not being able to wolf-out but Wednesday’s the only one home, Wednesday has visions every time they touch about different versions of them/their ancestors throughout history, SIMPING, the worlds gayest mystery, I’ve read it several times and it always hits.
Forged in Blood by RiseAboveTheAshes_203 - Post season 1, I don’t know how to describe it other than angsty devotion, if for some insane reason you haven’t read this fic do it now.
The San Francisco Incident by Apeoflight - AU future fic/they don’t meet at Nevermore, Omegaverse, Werewolf mates, falling in love, real smutty, what’s not to love?
the nature of idiosyncrasies by bogteats - One of the fics I managed to catch early on and I was OBSESSED, AU, future fic, they weren’t friends at Nevermore but Enid had a crush, Omegaverse, their dynamic in this is to die for, angsty, smutty, a real and honest portrayal of not only Wenclair but people and love in general, read it, that was a threat, if you already have read it again.
raven in the den, wolf in the nest by Barbara_Lazuli - Canon divergence, fake dating to annoy Esther Sinclair, full honesty I read this awhile ago so I’m not 100% certain what happens but I remember enjoying it, might need to do a re-read.
black marked sun by chasinghours - AU college/university, Wednesday’s Yoko and Bianca’s roommate and Enid becomes infatuated, very cute, a little angsty but nothing crazy, shy Wednesday??? if I remember correctly, gay pining, we love to see it.
Purgatory Would Be Beautiful With You by EmilyWritesStuff - In universe, WEREWOLF MATES (aka the best Wenclair trope), fun and easy read, each chapter is like a slice of their life as mates.
Dance With Wolves by wolfwars - Fake dating BUT Wednesday doesn’t realise that it’s fake (because Enid was vague af), Enid’s pining, Wednesday’s confused, great idea and really well executed.
You Are my Moon by Bee-nut - Fake dating except Wednesday commits to the bit so hard she ends up facing off against Enid’s family aka a pack of werewolves in various dangerous challenges in order to win Enid’s hand, great idea, loved every minute of it.
Old Wounds by Sharpen_your_hatchet - Wenclair reunite years after graduation, less falling in love more realising they were always in love and coming to terms with that, sweet and easy read.
So This Is Love by LoriLoud - Unhinged Murderous Wenclair… no further explanation needed.
La Petite Mort by Apeoflight AND Wednesday’s Pet by Apeoflight - Smut, they’re both smut fics, I cannot remember which was which plot wise, but same author, they’re both really good and with a good helping of falling in love, yearning, denial of feelings, miscommunication, angst… all the good stuff.
Vortex by ALotOfConfusion - Need a refresher but childhood friends to lovers, little Wednesday wants to study werewolves and I remember enjoying it.
Puppy Love by Vaniloqu3nce - Enid’s wolf starts talking to her after recognising Wednesday as their mate, havoc follows, great read.
yours, eurydice by hanjisgirlfriend - AU, future fic, they never met at Nevermore, Wednesday’s a writer, Enid’s an actress, they live across the hall from each other, they write each other love letters and fall in love, cute af, a little angsty but not too heavy, definitely a must read.
It’s hard to espresso my feelings for you by SquishiestRose - Coffee shop AU, Wednesday works at the Weathervane and she has it BAD, the platonic Wyler this world needs, a little angsty but nothing crazy, cute, fun read.
Spell It Out by forgot_my_art - A spell gone wrong leads to both a misunderstanding and an accidental proposal… I mean it’s Wenclair, of course it did, fun read.
A raven’s dream of wolf by tokyocorgi - AU future fic/they never met at Nevermore, Wednesday’s sex dreams are also prophecy’s of her future, we love to see it.
All That’s Best of Dark and Bright by Porcie - Wednesday runs from her feelings post season 1, they reunite years later, Wednesday has a vision that forces her to stay in Enid’s life and by extension forces her to confront her feelings, they’re in love the entire time while pretending they aren’t, almost soulmate-ish, a bit angsty, but a fun read.
On-Going Long Fics:
[friendly reminder to read in-progress fic as a way to encourage and support our talented writers]
I’d Eat the Sun Just to Feel Your Warmth in my Bones by MsMio - AU college/university, I still need to catch up but ANGST, childhood friends, a very interesting take on the Addams family curse, Wednesday suffers from chronic pain, a good sad read but a hopeful one.
our immeasurable ties that bind by bogteats - Fantasy type AU, some very interesting world building, Enid wakes up pregnant with no idea who she is, where she is, or how she got there, super excited to see where this goes.
Blood and Shadows by DarkVisitors - Historical AU, western vibes, angst, horny gay yearning, a vague line in the summary that alludes to them being forced to marry at gun point but it hasn’t happened yet, I am beyond invested.
A Kidnapping By Any Other Name by RavenMoon33 - Wednesday “kidnaps” Enid to spend the break with her at the Addams Estate, I’m still catching up but Wenclair antics meets Addams Family antics, Wednesday’s having visions, there’s a mystery afoot and it’s linked to Wednesday’s ancestors. I might try to squeeze in another chapter later today actually 👀 (I didn’t read the OG so no spoilers!)
Whatever This Is… by CautiouslyPessimistic - A NEW FAKE DATING AU! In universe, takes place at Nevermore, only 2 chapters so far, but well written and I’m excited to see more.
Well… That’s Knew by Chaos_of_the_valkyries - Post season 1, Enid presents as a werewolf alpha and your honour they’re mates, protective Enid, Wednesday going soft, apparently I’ve missed the last two updates??? A crime, I will be rectifying that asap.
The Bite that Binds, the Gift that Gives by TieDyeKing - Historical Fantasy-ish AU, Wenclair arranged marriage, immediate connection but they’re being cautious/don’t trust each other, beautiful imagery/world building, an intriguing plot, Esther Sinclair being Esther Sinclair (aka causing problems), only a few chapters but one of my favourites since forever ago, in love with this fic and you should be too.
Symbiotic Relationship by SquishiestRose - AU future fic/they don’t meet at Nevermore, Enid gets kicked out of her pack and ends up desperate enough that she accepts a job working as the live in servant of a woman she’s pretty sure is going to kill her (hint: it’s just Wednesday being her normal off putting self), I’m a sucker for future fics with a very isolated and lonely Wednesday learning to fall in love and this is that.

The History of the Wenclair Family
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wednesday Addams and Enid Sinclair. They were a duo that shouldn't have worked… but they did… and somehow their relationship resulted in marriage and children. This is the story of how their romance happened, and their family came to be...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Originally upon first meeting Enid Sinclair, Wednesday Addams found herself barely able to stand her room mate. However over time, the two developed an unprecedented bond. Enid found herself highly respecting Wednesday, while Wednesday found her soul slowly becoming soft only for Enid. A short time before turning 18, Wednesday allowed herself to begin experimenting in intimacy with Enid, and an unbroken bond between the two girls' souls was born.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As Wednesday began to discretely experiment in intimacy with Enid far longer than she had first anticipated, Wednesday eventually had to come to grips with her long term plans for where her and Enid's relationship would go. But upon wondering who she wished to be buried alongside one day, Wednesday realized there was only one person she wanted for that to be. So one night while surrounded by stuffed animals with heads cut off that were soaking in fake blood, Wednesday asked Enid to marry her... and Enid immediately accepted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Around the time of their wedding, Wednesday used a rare plant extract from her mothers' garden that could allow a woman to become pregnant with the DNA of another woman (but very intimate intercourse still had to occur to enable the process). Despite Enid being shocked at first that she unintentionally knocked up Wednesday, the two women agreed to improve their communication going forward; and in early December, on Friday the 13th - the two welcomed their twin children into the world: Harmony Addams, and Ana "Anarchy" Addams.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once their two children were born, Wednesday and Enid found work in the fashion industry; with Wednesday creating dark gothic creepy creations for one demographic of customers, and Enid making all the lighter stuff for the rest. Together the two raised their children in a gothic mansion (with Wednesday allowing Enid to plant bright plants in the backyard). Every day after school, and on the weekends: Wednesday would train Harmony and Ana in combat survival exercises, while Enid would teach her girls all the latest dance moves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Upon reaching their teenage years, Harmony and Ana became strong young women. Harmony wound up learning she had gained both Enid's werewolf genes, and Wednesday's psychic abilities. Ana, while gaining no special abilities of her own, had still inherited all of Wednesday's intelligence and combat skills (while still having Enid's pleasant personality). Unfortunately, after the two girls accidentally caused a zombie frog outbreak at their school: Harmony and Ana were kicked out... only for their mothers to enroll them at Nevermore Academy.
Tumblr media
During her first semester at Nevermore, Harmony found herself growing closer (in a romantic sense) to her childhood best friend: Megan, one of the first normies to attend Nevermore. Despite the two always being very close, Harmony had doubts if the two should take their relationship to the next level; due to them being so young, and due to conflicting visions of the future she was having when it came to her life with Megan. However, the two eventually consummated their relationship on one very romantic evening, and eventually the two agreed to get married once they both turned 18.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ana meanwhile eventually found her own special individual to love... a kitten. After rescuing it from the woods where it was all alone, Ana named the stray cat: Stormageddon the Conqueror, and together the two started a freelance bounty hunting service together. On top of that, Ana and her cat have achieved a seat on the city council, beaten up vampires, defeated mutant clones, stopped an army of rogue sirens, and fixed the space/time continuum. Almost nobody understands how, but Ana and her cat have become an incredibly formidable duo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Upon two Nevermore teachers attempting to kill Harmony and Ana (after the attackers revealed themselves to be the children of Laurel Gates), two staff positions at the school opened up. Wanting to be close to their daughters (and wanting to return to the place they met): Wednesday and Enid became teachers at Nevermore Academy, and even moved into the school (making their old dorm room their new home). Enid took over the art department, while Wednesday took over the school's self-defense courses, and school security. And now the story of Wednesday and Enid's family continues at the same place it began...

⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷†⊶⊷⊶⊷⊶⊷
Wednesday's eyes narrowed in on Enid's form from across the courtyard.
The cold season had settled in, a blanket of white snow covering the ground. The air was biting and nipping at people's skin.
It was evident in the way Enid's nose, ears, and cheeks were rosy red. Wednesday watched as Enid talked animatedly with Yoko while the rest of their little ragtag group hung around, most likely waiting for her.
The day had started early with Wednesday waking up to Enid's face at the edge of her bed, half obscured. The surprising sight would've normally frightened someone, but Wednesday merely glared.
"What are you doing, Enid?"
"Wednesday," Enid whined, and the dark-haired girl was tempted to turn around and go back to sleep immediately. Enid whining never meant good things. "Come to the Jericho Yule Festival with me and everyone else today!
"No," Wednesday monotoned. "I already went with you to the Christmas Lights last week."
"And now it's the Yule Festive this week," Enid rebutted.
Wednesday remained silent but internally sighed. Why was it so difficult to say no to Enid firmly? Still, Wednesday kept her mouth shut and closed her eyes. Saying nothing wasn't saying yes.
Then, the sound of Enid's forlorn sigh filled the room.
"Okay," the blond conceded as she straightened her back before getting up to sit on the edge of Wednesday's bed with a slouch. "I guess I could partner up with Ajax for the couple's activities."
Wednesday's eyes opened back, trailing to the side to look at Enid's back. She was wearing that colorful sweater that looked like a unicorn puked on it.
"What?" was the only word to come out of Wednesday's mouth.
But Enid understood and blabbered away. "Well, Ajax's date canceled on him yesterday, so he can't do any of the partner activities since if you were coming, it would've made the numbers odd. But I guess since you're not coming, I can do stuff with Ajax."
That sentence alone sounded all wrong to Wednesday, bringing up unpleasant feelings she was unfamiliar with. But then again, Enid brought forth a lot of feelings she wasn't familiar with lately.
Some were good, and some made her...feel violently sick—in a good way?
"I thought you two broke up," Wednesday commented instead.
"Yeah," Enid shrugged, and Wednesday couldn't tell what the blonde felt about it without seeing her face. "But we ended on good terms and all the prizes for the couple activities are really, really cool. I want to win them all."
The idea of Ajax and Enid working in tandem and cheering, and hugging each other in victory (because Enid was definitely most likely going to hug him out of excitement) had Wednesday begrudgingly say—
"Fine. I'll go."
Enid immediately turned around, her face bright and excited. "Really?" She squealed. "I'm so excited! I just know we're going to crush everyone else."
"Of course," Wednesday looked unperturbed. "I want to see Bianca's face of utter defeat." Then, Wednesday raised her brow at Enid. "Dress warmly. Ever since you wolfed out, you have suddenly lost a few brain cells and think you're immune to the cold. I will end you if you get sick."
Enid merely rolled her eyes before she pounced onto Wednesday, her body half-pressed into her and arms wrapped around her neck.
"Enid," Wednesday grouched.
Yet, despite her stern warning for Enid to dress appropriately for the weather, there the blonde was: no hat, no scarf, and no gloves.
Not even her hideous snood.
Wednesday walked forward, and Xavier was the first to greet her. She nodded in acknowledgment to the entire group before glaring at Enid.
"Why aren't you dressed appropriately for the weather?"
"You aren't either!" Enid scrunched her nose at Wednesday as she took in the other girl's attire. "Except for your gloves, I guess."
"That's because my body is naturally colder than the weather," Wednesday raised her brow.
"Well, that's simply not true," Enid smirked, and if Wednesday could, she would have blushed.
"Let's just get going," Bianca curled her lips in annoyance at the weird display Enid and Wednesday have been putting on lately. "The cabs are already here."
The group began making their way toward the entrance of the school quickly. Despite ordering two cabs, Wednesday still felt claustrophobic being pressed up against someone as she sat next to the door.
The ride was noisy, but Wednesday found it was easy to drown out if she focused on Enid's chattering. Soon enough, they arrived in the town. If Wednesday thought last week they had over-decorated, this was pure Christmas vomit. Apparently, Yule Fest was their biggest event of the year.
The group decided to walk around first to check out the area, but not even a quarter way in, Wednesday could feel Enid shivering against her when she walked too close.
But it was only when Enid sneezed that Wednesday stopped walking.
"Seriously, I told you that you would get sick going out like that," Wednesday snapped.
Her tone made everyone jump, but Enid merely sneezed again and looked pitiful.
Suddenly, Wednesday yanked on Xavier's scarf, making him momentarily choke as it unraveled around his neck.
"What the hell, Wed—" He started to say, but his jaw dropped.
Wednesday lifted her arms and used his scarf to wrap around Enid's neck delicately.
"What do you think will happen if you get sick?" Wednesday frowned. "Do you expect me to make you soup and nurse you back to health?"
"I wouldn't dream of it," Enid smiled, watching as Wednesday then turned to Yoko and sniped the girl's hat, ignoring the vampire's grunt and glare.
"No, you should not because I will leave you to perish," Wednesday said as Enid lowered her head slightly so that she could put the hat onto the blonde.
"Thing will take care of me," Enid grins in a mischievous way that has Wednesday glaring at her through her brows and cheeks more angular than usual when she pursed her lips. "Or not," Enid quickly amended.
"C'mon," Bianca looked at the remaining group. "Let's get going before Enid's stupidity costs us all of our winter wear."
Wednesday gave the siren a dark look.
Bianca was unfazed as she smirked before gathering the group to walk along, leaving the two to trail slowly behind.
"Sorry," Enid mumbled as they walked. "And thank you."
Wednesday could feel their hands brush against each other occasionally and pursed her lip. Enid's hand felt cold to her, which was saying something because Wednesday's hand temperature was probably close to freezing.
Wednesday stopped walking again, causing the werewolf to jerk to a stop as well.
Enid looked at Wednesday curiously as the dark raven sighed, pulling off one of her gloves and handing it to her.
"I'm not giving you both," Wednesday warned.
Enid smiled as she took the glove and wore it on the hand that faced the outside. "You don't need to," Enid said but then looked mischievous as she wriggled her fingers on her bare hand. "But there is a way to keep both our hands warm."
Wednesday looked at her curiously.
Enid took Wednesday's gloveless hand, causing the other girl to tense up. Ignoring it, Enid stuck both their hands into her jacket pocket and started walking, giving no choice but for Wednesday to begin moving too.
"Enid," Wednesday frowned.
"Shh," Enid comforted. "It's fine. They're not going to look behind because they're too scared you'll probably stab their eyes out."
With that reassurance (not that Wednesday needed it), Wednesday allowed the contact, walking quietly next to the blonde and keeping her warm.

Looking For WENCLAIR Fic again!
It’s the one where Enid bites Wednesday and turns her into a wolf so she can save her from dying. There’s discussion about turning only happening when they’re strong intent.
Wednesday shares the news with her parents any they’re happy. Enid brings Wednesday home to tell her parents about it.
She has an argument with Esther and drags Wednesday up to her room….
Worked the first time so I thought I’d give it a try again!!!!! 🙏🏻

Thank you to the beloved and talented @thetornadodream for feeding the fandom with some damn good wyclair so that we can cope with the arrival of the new love interest in S2 - guys, I told you I wasn't done with Bruno.
Check her wyclair fic - get ready for the beauty and insanity of Today We Feast by Tornadodream
This was supposed to be a girl's trip: just Enid Sinclair and Wednesday Addams, adults finally, able to enjoy the debauchery of Mardi Gras, drinking absinthe and reveling in a change of scenery.
But then Tyler Galpin had to come along, all in the name of reversing a death curse that all three of them somehow got wrapped up in.
Little did Enid Sinclair anticipate that reversing this particular death curse—involving shared blood and enchanted aphrodisiacs—would turn out to be exactly what she needed.

As the dust settled and the ring clattered against the ground, Bianca’s shoulders visibly relaxed and she exhaled slowly.
But Wednesday couldn’t find respite in the defeat of Joseph Crackstone just yet. He was far from their biggest problem, he was just a momentary distraction from the real danger that had been unleashed upon Jericho and Nevermore. And the one left dealing with that danger…
“Enid,” Wednesday breathed and, without another word in Bianca’s direction — honestly, she’d forgotten the siren was there in the flash of panic that stung her veins so harshly it almost blinded her — she burst into a run, whirling through the courtyard and towards the back entrance of the school as though she hadn’t been bleeding out in a crypt less than an hour ago.
Bianca followed her without question. She had to make sure her friends were safe.
Wednesday followed the sounds of the evacuated students’ concerned voices into the woods, coming to a halt at the open wrought iron gate as her dark gaze flickered desperately from face to terrified face in the cluster of students, searching for the only person who truly mattered right now. The dim orange glow of the lamps on either side of the crowd weren’t helping as she searched for even a flash of pink or the moonlight reflecting on locks of silky blonde hair she had grown so used to seeing at her side.
Never in her life had she considered herself religious, or stupid enough to pledge her life to following the rules of beings in the sky or below the ground, but now she threw out silent prayers to whoever might be listening and waiting to claim her eternal soul, begging for Enid to have survived the clash of claws and teeth with Tyler.
Begging for them to do something about it if she hadn’t.
Wednesday knew for sure now that she indeed had a heart, however rotten it might be, as it hammered against her rib cage so hard it was becoming difficult to breathe. As the waves of students parted like the red sea, it stuttered and threatened to stop altogether as anticipation zapped through it.
Only to jump start again when her eye caught sight of a blush coat, however muted the colour may have been amongst the dirt and leaves stuck to it.
Wednesday took a hesitant step forward, no matter how desperate she was to lunge ahead and make sure it was really her, but she didn’t have to. Enid was already running to her, with the other students following close behind her.
As she drew in a deep breath of relief, the cool night air filled her starved lungs and brought life back to them. Her tense body relaxed, and she almost managed a smile as she met Enid’s azure eyes. Enid tossed herself at her, wrapping her arms tight around her waist and squeezing, and Wednesday was almost knocked back with the force of it, but she couldn’t find it in herself to shove the girl away.
In fact, when Enid stepped back on her own after a mere moment, Wednesday ached to feel her arms tight around her again. She was gone far too soon. When they were so close, she could feel Enid’s heart thumping, the warmth of her body seeping through her clothes, and the rapid rise and fall of her chest as she breathed — all things which confirmed Sinclair was truly alive and not some figment of Wednesday’s desperate imagination.
As she regarded Enid and took in the mess of her hair, the leaves still stuck to her even after most had blown off in the wind, and the blood covering her beautiful face — she realised it was her fault. If Enid hadn’t been protecting her, she wouldn’t be covered in blood, and Wednesday couldn’t figure out if it was Tyler’s or her own, but the usually morbid part of her was gone and she didn’t want to know. It was a strange feeling.
So many questions brewed in Wednesday’s mind — How could Enid be stupid enough to risk her life for her? Was she hurt? What happened to Tyler? How could she be stupid enough to risk her life for her? — But she couldn’t ask any of them. Not now.
All she could do now was drag her close again and shove her face into her neck, letting her eyes flutter shut as she basked in the ray of sunshine that was Enid Sinclair. She didn’t care if the whole school was watching. She didn’t care if Enid wouldn’t ever let her hear the end of it. And she definitely didn’t care if anyone found out that her ice cold heart was slowly being melted bit by bit in Enid’s presence.
All she cared about was Enid’s safety.
And she made a silent vow to keep her safe, for as long as Enid would allow.

I'm scripting out my next wenclair long-fic currently and it seems like it'll be a challenge to write it but also really fun. I'm really excited to try and piece it all together, especially with the stuff I've learned through my recent fics.
Working Title: Symbiotic Relationship
Working Description -
Enid Sinclair, on the hunt after being kicked out of her own family pack, discovers a job where she'd act as a live-in servant for a recluse writer. Not having a job or a home, she takes it. As she stands outside the looming Addams family's mansion, face-to-face with an beautiful angry goth girl, she begins to re-think her decision.
-- or --
A slow-burn wenclair fic about a buttlin' Enid Sinclair
Prompt Provided By @bknyght
I'm going to be writing the fic the second I finish the draft over on AO3. I've been hard at work at it but I'm ensuring I don't make any pacing mistakes like I did with my last fic, which led to rescripting and adding on like 7 chapters and it was a whole ordeal. Anyways, I'll be sharing a link to every chapter here if anyone is interested!

Meet Wednesday and Enid's Children
When Wednesday ingests a special plant from her mother's garden, it allows her to gain the ability to produce two children with both her DNA and Enid's DNA. Together, Wednesday and Enid's children represent both the harmony and anarchy of their lives...
Tumblr media
Growing up as someone born to two outcasts with an unprecedented mix of powers and heritage, Harmony has always wanted to bring all types of people in the world closer together. Harmony fell in love with her childhood best friend: Megan Zimmerman, a normie, who became one of the first non-outcasts to attend Nevermore Academy. Harmony has difficulties understanding her psychic visions at times, and often has anxiety about her future. However when her loved ones are in danger, nothing will stop Harmony from unleashing her full werewolf fury on any enemies before her.
Tumblr media
Ana has always grown up with a more unique personality; embodying a mix of Enid's excitement and upbeat attitude, but also having many of Wednesday's more deadly abilities, along with her disinterest in conforming to the world around her. Ana grew up feeling a bit of disconnect with her family due to having none of the powers her moms and twin sister had. However upon beginning a career as an underage free lance bounty hunter, she has found a way to find her place in the world. Despite the lack of powers, she always finds a way to defeat any obstacle in her way... even though often, people don't understand how.

Date With Death
Chapter 1
Weddings.
What a joke.
Well, a joke that resulted in her existence, legal existence, that is. Wednesday was certain a lack of legal proceedings would not have hindered her parents from siring her into this forsaken planet.
She was an Addams. Weddings, celebrations and romance? Binding your soul to another human being in hopes of meeting death together? It should be a day of celebration for any member of the Addams family. So far, it has been anything but.
Maybe because it's the wedding of the love of her life in which she would not be the groom, but that is beside the point.
Just thinking about the dancing, celebrating and drinking made her want to jump off a cliff. Aside from their friends, she knew none of these guests actually liked one another. Alas, connections had to be made. Arms had to be twisted. Daughters had to be married off. Sons had to be paraded around like prizes.
The Sinclairs were preening. Finally proud of Enid's choice of husband once they learned that Ajax was heir to the Petropolus Oil fortune in Central America. The Petroplous were just happy their boy found a nice girl albeit with an impossible mother. Many wonder how someone as bright and loving as Enid could come from such a horrid human being.
Wednesday was seriously considering jumping off the nearest cliff right now. She was sure she spotted a few on the drive over.
Because of course she drove herself to Enid's wedding. The entire Addams family was invited but Wednesday chose to ride alone to avoid the sad and pitiful stares her family would surely send her way had she chosen to ride with them.
They all knew. Of course they all knew. Addams, in werewolf speak, mate for life.
Wednesday found her mate, but her mate found someone else.
It was a wonder why she wasn't dead yet. She thinks the curse will most likely take full effect in once Enid says "I do" so part of the plan was to walk away before then. As pleasing as it would be to give Esther Sinclair the middle finger from the afterlife, she will not let the best day of Enid's life be marred with her death.
It was Enid’s wedding. That was incentive enough for Wednesday to, as the werewolf liked to call it, behave.
Enid. Enid. Enid.
It was her fault, really, that Enid found someone else. Well, found someone else. Again.
All things considered; Ajax was a good guy. He had matured well after University. Enough to know that he was foolish for ever letting Enid go in the first place. Better him than some entitled, narcissistic ass from whicever pack Enid’s so-called mother would have chosen.
Better him than her, at least.
And Wednesday, well, she had beaten her heart into submission once she realized how she felt for the blonde werewolf.
The Addams heir fell hard, though slow.
Hard enough to know Enid deserved sunshine, life and happiness.
Slow enough to delay any chances of making Enid fall in love with her as she’d hoped.
Enid Sinclair deserved more than Wednesday Addams would ever be able to give her. Holding hands? Hugs? Kisses?
Enid deserved it all. So, Wednesday made the executive decision to stand by the werewolf. As a friend, a confidante, a shoulder to lean for any and every little thing that made her sad.
Hard day at work? Wednesday would take her to the ice cream parlour they both liked. Impossible exams? Wednesday would make sure to read up on those topics to help Enid study. Current boyfriend was being a jerk? Wednesday would let Enid choose a comfort movie and let the blonde cuddle her as they watched. Said boyfriend would have the most horrible haircut the next day, courtesy of a certain walking appendage.
Wednesday went above and beyond.
Enid did as well. She knew Enid loved her a great deal. How much, she could never tell, but not enough for Wednesday to risk the werewolf’s chance at a happier life.
Was she being a coward? Sure. Thing, Yoko and Bianca have called her out for it thousands of times, but her resolve always won out in the end. Her resolve to give Enid a happy ending. With or without her.
The curse would likely ensure it would happen without her.
She'd tied up all her loose ends. Viper's saga would end when the last book was published in the fall of next year. She had gone soft, really. She'd given Viper and her love interest a happy life that will only last until the next book is published. Viper would inevitably meet the same demise as her maker come the fall of next year.
A literal heartbreak.
She'd signed her last will and testament weeks ago.
Most of her inheritance would go to Pugsley and Pubert, with a strict clause of Enid (being her unofficial mate) being able to access it should she require any kind of support were things to go sideways. Anything that remained went to an underfunded music institute for less fortunate children.
Her beloved cello and any music she wrote would stay in the family. To be used by whomever her father saw fit to play it. Her necklace would go to her mother, fully circling back to the giver.
Her favorite knife went to Pugsley. Her best bow went to Pubert and her sturdiest mace would be given to her Uncle Fester. She'd given Thing and Lurch all her books, knowing they would be in for quite the dull life without her dragging them into her occasional misadventures.
Her typewriter and all the future rights and royalties from Viper's saga would go to Enid. Everything was set up in an account under Enid’s name. Whether she use Enid Sinclair or Enid Petropolus, it was her to access all the same.
Wednesday hopes it'll somehow ease the pain of her passing after some years. She knows Enid would be beyond furious with her for keeping the curse's effect on her a secret but there's not much more she can do now.
All the people she loved would be okay and that was all that mattered now.
She even had dinner with Eugene and their other friends two weeks ago. A goodbye, though none of them would know until later today.
She'd said her farewells to her parents, brothers and uncle the night before. Thanking them for all the love and unwarranted affection. She endured the hug Pugsley and Pubert held her in, reminding them that they'd need to step up once she was gone. She apologized for not being able to stay to protect them anymore and makes them promise on her grave to surpass her fighting skills.
She shook hands or, well, hand with Thing and Lurch. To thank them for their unwavering loyalty. Fester and her parents hugged her for a long while as well.
Tears were shed, promises were made, and yet her parents were still hopeful the curse wouldn't take her away.
How could it not, though? All previous Addams who died form heartbreak died on the day their mate was wedded to another.
It was simply her turn.
There was one last thing to do. One more person to talk to. One more gift to give.
Wednesday looked to her side. A blue, velvet box and a single black rose. She wanted to give them to Enid as a wedding gift.
She will, once she calms down and stops gripping the steering wheel of her car so tightly the blood has all but left her hands.
She had never feared death. She’d gladly welcome it with open arms. It was knowing that these will be the last moments she'd share with Enid Sinclair that terrified her.
Wednesday hated weddings, but she would have loved to marry Enid.
Enid Addams? Wednesday Sinclair?
It didn't really matter now, did it?
--
Chapter 2
Wednesday saw fit to dress appropriately for her date with death.
Dress shoes, dark slacks and perfectly tucked white long sleeves with the top two buttons, well, unbuttoned.  A blue paisley silk scarf around her neck. Signet ring on her left pinky.
She patted her car, thanking it for its service one last time before walking towards the venue, clutching her gifts in one hand.
It was still quite early in the morning. She checked the time on her phone, heart soaring at the displayed photo. It was a 'selfie' as Enid like to call it. The blonde liked to take selfies on her phone and set them as the new 'lock screen' whenever she remembered to. Wednesday never really complained about it. Why would she?
She wasn’t that cruel. She had to give her heart something to keep beating for until the day it finally gave in. That something just so happened to be photos of and with Enid.
The actual wedding would not happen until this afternoon at 5PM. Just the enough time for the lovely couple to say their vows during the sunset.
Surely, the entourage was still being prepped. She hoped Enid hadn't overslept on her wedding day, of all days.
Enid wanted her to be a bridesmaid, but she didn't know how early the curse would kick in. It could happen right when the orchestra started to play, what then? Dead body in the middle of the aisle? She wouldn't allow that.
They'd fought about for weeks but Wednesday stood her ground until Enid finally relented. The seer didn't have to be a bridesmaid so long as she attended the wedding while also promising not to bring any silver weapons, lest she be tempted to graze anyone from Enid's family.
Wednesday more than made up for it by being acting like a bridesmaid until the actual wedding. The one thing she didn’t allow herself, though, was go with Enid to shop for the wedding dress. She went to the godawful cake tastings, shopping trips and florists with Enid. Everything and everywhere except anything related to the wedding dress.
Wednesday was not confident she would be able to stop herself from dropping onto one knee and proposing to Enid then and there, if she saw her try out even one wedding dress.
She walked around the venue, wanting to see where Enid would be getting her happily ever after. She's not sure she'll get another chance to, should the curse take her away earlier than expected.
It was all very... Enid. Garden wedding. Pastel-colored balloons. Blood-red carpet rolling down the aisle with lilies on each side. White altar. White and pink chairs. A chiffon cake.
Hopefully she'd live enough to see Enid walk down the aisle dressed in white. Hope? She really had gone soft because of the werewolf.
Of course, life doesn't grant her much more peace after that as she runs into Eugene who is one of Ajax's groomsmen.
"Looking for Enid?" Eugene asked cheekily, eyeing the stuff she was trying to hide behind her back.
"Yes, Eugene. How very astute of you to notice." Wednesday relents, her eyes soften the slightest bit, wondering if this would be the last conversation she'll have with one of her oldest friends.
"Penthouse suite. She saw you park your car and asked me to tell you how to get there." He gestured to the hotel lobby before walking with Wednesday to the elevators.
Enid saw her. Of course she did. The Penthouse suite had clear line of sight to anywhere in the venue. Perfect position for a sniper, or a werewolf with impressive eyesight.
"How have the preparations been going?"
"Okay. Enid's a bit jittery but once you get up there I'm sure she'll calm down." Eugene let Wednesday enter the elevator first before following and pushing the button for the top floor. "I think she sent me because she wasn't sure you knew how to use the elevator."
"Surely she doesn't think me that incompetent with modern technology?"
"She's just concerned." Her friend laughs a little, and though it's at her expense, it puts Wednesday at ease. She hopes Eugene will live a long, boring and peaceful life.
"Thank you for doing your best to comfort her, Eugene. You truly are an excellent friend."
Wednesday was good at lying, too, but in this moment, she meant nothing but the truth. Eugene would be one of the most devastated by her imminent death. The least she could do was ensure their last memory of each other would be a good one.
It was a bit concerning to hear Enid's reaction to her absence, but all she can really do now is show up for the few remaining hours of her life.
"I'm an excellent friend to an excellent friend. Oh, we're here. Door on the left is the girl's suite. Ours is on the right. If you need anything or need company, just call me." Eugene smiled at her like the day they met, sweet, boyish and innocent, as they walked to the left door.
Wednesday nodded, giving him what she hoped was a grateful look before watching him walk towards the boys' suite. She was about to knock when the door was thrown wide open, and the air was knocked out of her lungs by an oversized and overenergized puppy.
"Willa!"
Wednesday was smothered in a hug before she had a chance to dodge. She wouldn't have, but still, it was quite concerning how Enid was able to catch her off guard. Ah, she must have picked up her scent as they drew near. The werewolf never ceases to amaze her.
"You're here. You came." Enid whispered, burying her face in Wednesday's neck, inhaling her scent and hugging her tighter.
Wednesday did her best to return the hug, something she'd had much practice with over the years.
"I promised you I would see you off for your wedding." The goth hoped her voice was at least a bit more stable than her heart. Her traitorous heart that couldn’t decide whether to be calmed or excited by Enid’s presence. Was it possible to feel both at the same time?
"Well, yeah, but your color allergy! And you hate these events and not to mention my family and-" Enid had pulled back, holding Wednesday at arm’s length, noticeably reciting said reasons from memory. Knowing her, she must have worried about them since she last saw Wednesday two days ago.
"Enid." Wednesday squeezed the hand on her right shoulder with her free one, making sure to look the blonde in the eye to catch her attention. "Breathe, Only death could keep me from attending your horrendously pastel wedding."
The irony was not lost on her. The goth, however, nearly lost all lung function once she'd actually looked at the werewolf.
Oh, the world really was too cruel. To see Enid with no makeup, wearing nothing but shorts and Wednesday's old black sweatshirt. She was gorgeous. The sun could never hope to compare.
Enid smiled at her warmly, pulling her into another bone-crushing hug before tugging her inside. "You're the best, Wends! I'm so glad you're here. Maybe you can wake up Yoko and-"
Wednesday pulled Enid into the first empty room she found once they were inside the suite. It looked to be the music room, unless grand pianos were now a staple for penthouse suites.
"I wanted to give you something." Wednesday could feel her heart start to lose control. She took a breath to beat it back into submission before continuing. It helped when Enid squeezed her hand and looked at her curiously with a cute tilt of the head.
"My wedding gift. To you." Wednesday let go of the hand she was holding to place the velvet box and black rose in it.
Enid’s eyes widened somewhat at the gorgeous black rose and blue velvet box in her hand.
"Wednesday, the rose is beautiful, thank you, but you didn't have to."
"Please." The desperation in her voice must have been ever so slightly noticeable as Enid relented with a soft smile.
"Silly, just having you here is the best gift you could give me. I know how much you hate these events."
"Well, consider it an additional gift."
Enid chuckled, making Wednesday's heart do somersaults in her chest, before opening the velvet box. Inside was a key pendant, attached to a thin, white bracelet. The letter "E" was engraved into the head of the key.
"Thing helped me design it."
Enid was at a loss for words. It was very Wednesday. Every gift from Wednesday was beautiful but this was by far the best gift she’d ever been given in her life. Probably the most intricate one, too.
“It’s white gold. I thought of the normal gold too ordinary for the occasion and silver would definitely not do.”
"It's beautiful, thank you, Wednesday." Enid felt tears falling from her eyes, torn between looking at Wednesday and the bracelet. Of course her best friend would gift her something she designed herself on her wedding day. It wouldn't be her if she didn't.
"You are crying. Is the design not to your liking? If I may-"
"No, no! I love it. It's- It’s the same "E" as the one on your signet ring, right?" Enid smiled through the tears as Wednesday was wiping them away with a white handkerchief.
Curse Enid and her observance. It was in fact the very same. Wednesday had once told Enid it was a sideways W but there's no point in denying it now. She gives Enid a small but proud smile, the werewolf has turned into quite the puzzle solver herself.
"It is. It's also the key to your share of my inheritance."
"The key to.. what? Why would I need a key to your inheritance?”
“Well...”
“You already pay for everything unless we stop you."
"Enid."
"Are you sick?"
'"Enid, please."
Do you have cancer? Are you dying?"
"Enid!" Wednesday shook the werewolf slightly. She did her best to fake an amused smile. "I am well, as you can see. It was the only gift I could think of. I... apologize if it displeases you."
Enid looked into her eyes. Possibly straight into her soul. This was too big a gift, but knowing Wednesday's family, it may just be normal thing for them.
"Are you sure you're not dying?"
"We’re all dying a little bit every day, Enid."
Technically, she wasn't lying. She always found it hard to lie to Enid, so deflection was the next best thing.
Enid was still skeptical, though. Something she got from years of being friends with Wednesday and as Edgar Allan Poe said: Believe only half of what you see and nothing of what you hear.
At least, until you can confirm it yourself.
She looked Wednesday up and down. There was nothing too out of the ordinary about the very formal outfit. The top two buttons of all of Wednesday's outfits being undone was her doing, which she was very proud of.
She brought her car, which Wednesday wouldn't do if she was up to something. Can’t leave anything that could be directly traced back to her, after all.
She didn't have any of her knives, either. Enid didn't feel them when she hugged the goth and the shoes she was wearing were definitely normal ones. These were new dress shoes, probably not customized to her knives yet.
It took a few months, but she was able to memorize all of the goth's hiding places years ago.
All evidence points to Wednesday being, well, okay. Not tall, dressed in dark clothes but definitely handsome.
"You're not gonna run away to some undisclosed location after the wedding, are you?"
"You'd just track me down so I'll save us the trouble of running around in wedding attires."
Wednesday rarely teased, but when she did, it always made her laugh. Freely, without judgment. Because that's what you got with Wednesday Addams as a friend. Honesty and unwavering loyalty.
"If I hear even a word from Thing that you're running off alone, I'm going to postpone my honeymoon to hunt you down."
"As I said, I'm staying right here. You have my word."
"We’re so not done discussing why I have access to your inheritance but... help me put on the bracelet?"
"Of course."
Enid looked down at the gold key. The intricate design all but screamed Wednesday to her. Yoko would not approve of the additional accessory, but it was her wedding day and she will do whatever she wanted.
Including wearing what was apparently a friendship bracelet? Yes, that seemed appropriate.
Enid gave Wednesday a soft kiss on the cheek. "Thank you Wednesday, I really love the bracelet and the rose."
Wednesday, not trusting her voice not to break, gave Enid a small nod, her lips quirking into a smirk.
"Go get ready for your wedding."
“Help me wake up Yoko?”
“With pleasure.”

Date With Death master post
--
Hi guys. All the next chapters are in the link above.
I wrote this in one go for about two hours. I'm sure there are some errors since I haven’t written in two years. I just wanted to hash this out as it came to me. The angst seemed too good to pass up.
I’m not an Ajax hater. Sorry if Enid is a bit oblivious to Wednesday’s more serious affections here? Let’s call it plot armor, for now.
Does anyone know if I can post this on AO3 without using an email? Please let me know.
--
Hello again! I’ve added edits and covered up some plot holes. It’s still not perfect but it’s better than yesterday’s version. Give it another read if you can and tell me what you think.
Also, I’m on the fence about how to continue this fic. The easiest way would be to just let Wednesday die, right?
Realistically, how would they fall for each other?
I like to think it’s at least in their senior year at nevermore or some time after. I love every fic about them falling for each other while a nevermore but something about an aged-up version of them falling in love also makes my heart go crazy.
I’d love to discuss if you have any ideas for Wenclair! Just reply here or DM me, I guess. Cheers!
