wait.. i’m literally on here or weibo almost 24/7 ( as you can tell lol ) but I feel like i missed something. i’m seeing clowning related to xz’s photos and how it looks like he is a groom and it’s a wedding photoshoot. the place is also famous for wedding shoots ( allegedly, idk. i’m not from there ) so turtles are imagining again. lol. freakin coincidence that wyb’s GRA photoshoot was done at a wedding shop. plus the “wedding outfits” for weibo night. which is all clowning and galaxy braining.🌌

now, we’re joking around, like where’s yibo? he should be taking photos with his partner.

then i see comments that there is this one song WYB recently listened to. meaning, as recent as when XZ flew to singapore which is called 超人不会飞 (superman can’t fly) by Jay Chou. i know WYB and everyone else is a big fan of Jay Chou but the clowning comes from the timing of when he listened to it. let me get to that first.

turtles are interpreting it as WYB longing to “fly” to where XZ is and be with him but he can’t because of all his work commitments. he wants to take a breather. thinking about what his life is and the constraints, and at times like this, when they spent days in Beijing, but now they have to be apart, it affects him even more.

however when i read the lyrics, it could also be because he can relate to what jay chou is singing about. here’s the english translation i found here. i have bolded the ones i felt like WYB relates too. literally no need for explanation. just read it. It fits with his status in life so much that it’s almost scary.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with how cpfs are relating this to cpn cause that’s just how it is. But sometimes, there are other reasons why they do what they do.

SO MY CONFUSION COMES FROM HOW THE HELL DO PEOPLE KNOW WHAT HE RECENTLY LISTENED TO. I can’t seem to dig up how or maybe it’s something we don’t talk about. I have never experienced this kind of tidbit related to them before so I wanna know the source. Or is this like the gaming cpn where certain people know and they will not divulge the boy’s account for privacy? if anyone knows, feel free to comment. If i find out in the future, I will share.

First meet

@gwyndal thank you for your adorable prompt! I loved writing this!

The prompt: Wangxian meeting LXC's and his spouse's firstborn

Wei Wuxian walks anxiously through the jingshi, drawing imaginary circles all over the place with his steps. His hands are folded behind his back, but his fingers still wring against each other, betraying his nerves.

Lan Wangji would try to comfort him if he wasn't restless himself. He's been sifting through the same book for the past two or three hours, unable to focus.

"Why's it taking so long?!" Wei Wuxian bursts, tired of the silence and his own thoughts spiralling. "I wonder, did something happen? I know Ming Xiang's pregnancy has been difficult, but... it's been over 10 hours, why haven't we received any news?"

"I've asked the doctor to let me know when something happens, good or bad. No news should be good news."

"Except it's not! Do you know how many things can go wrong in childbirth?! It's terrible, she could even die!"

"Wei Ying, I don't think that is the case. We would have been told."

Wei Wuxian sighs, frustrated. "I just want to know or nephew or niece is okay... This is nerve-wracking!"

"It is, but we shouldn't be so-"

There's a knock at the jingshi's door and Lan Wangji springs to his feet, nearly knocking himself over as he runs to open up. A disciple that can only be described as happily distraught manages a half bow and hurriedly says, "Come quickly, lady Ming has given birth to twin boys!"

Lan Wangji nearly knocks the disciple over as he runs out the door, and it happens again when Wei Wuxian follows. They all but fly their way towards the lanshi, and only when do they arrive at the door reality hits them.

They're uncles now! They're going to meet their niece or nephew now!

But they can't just barge in - this is an intimate moment, perhaps Lan Xichen and his wife want to spend it together without outside interference. Perhaps they should wait to be called in or -

The door opens to reveal Lan Xichen beaming, a smile so bright it nearly lights up the night. "Come on in, A-Xiang was just about to send me after you."

Suddenly, both Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian feel incredibly small as they walk in. The lanshi looks the same as always, yet it feels different - it feels different with Ming Xiang's soft voice humming a lullaby as she lays in the bed, two bundles of embroidered blankets in her arms.

There are bags under her eyes and her updo is more mess than hair - but she looks so softly, so lovingly to the little ones she's holding that she appears otherworldly, a goddess among mortals, the primordial image of Mother.

Wei Wuxian's eyes tear up, but it is Lan Wangji that cries first, two rivulets of tears falling symmetrically down his face at the image. A step behind them, Lan Xichen himself struggles to hide his tears.

Ming Xiang smiles, tired, proud, relieved, motherly. "Looks like you'll both get your very own nephew."

Wei Wuxian laughs, wetly, as he approaches the bed and tentatively sits on the edge. He sees his own mother holding him, he sees Jiang Yanli holding Jin Ling, he sees A-Yuan's mother holding him - he sees all mothers there, in the image of Ming Xiang, and there is a knot in his throat that refuses to dissipate.

He looks at the two babes, snuggled in their expensive furs and silks, so small and vulnerable, so very precious, so long waited on.

Lan Wangji joins his husband's side and Lan Xichen stands at the foot of the bed, looking on at his family, now whole. He hasn't even realized, until today, he has been missing something.

Two little somethings.

"Would you like to hold them?" Ming Xiang asks, her voice barely above a whisper.

Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji nod all too eagerly, and Lan Xichen takes the cue to help his wife hand over the two little boys.

She makes a relieved sound. "They're so heavy... Those pregnancy cravings fed them well!"

Lan Xichen watches as the two hold his sons like they are gold incarnate, their touches delicate and fearful. He shares a look with his wife, a discreet smile between them, until-

"He's moving!" Lan Wangji exclaims, overwhelmed and uncharacteristic, eyes wide as the baby in his arms opens his eyes and lifts a tiny hand towards him.

"Of course, he's moving." Wei Wuxian replies, gently rocking the other one. "Babies tend to do that."

Lan Wangji smiles, warm, his fingers gently adjusting the blankets around the little boy. "Mn."

The baby seems to be analyzing Lan Wangji, blue eyes scanning over his face before his little nose scrunches as if in disapproval, and he closes his eyes to sleep again. Wei Wuxian's heart leaps at the adorable sight and he knows he wants this for himself too, for both of them.

He turns to look at the baby he's holding himself, sleeping soundly, and can't help running a finger over his plump cheeks. He knows he'd die - again, over and over - if his little nephews asked, he'd turn the world upside down and sideways for them. He'll be the uncle he never got to be for Jin Ling, he'll be the uncle he wished he had himself when he was younger.

And so, on that cold winter day, Lan Yichen and Lan Haoyu were born, the future Twin Jades, the pride and joy of their parents and uncles, the hope for a future as bright as their father's sword and as beautiful as their mother's smile.

(And as spoiled as Hanguang-Jun and the Yiling Patriarch could get away with.)

Wang Chuan Feng Hua Lu (忘川风华录) Masterpost

Wang Chuan Feng Hua Lu (忘川风华录) is a Vocal synth (Vocaloid and SynthV) music project. It consists of songs themed around different figures throughout Chinese history. The project is a collaboration between different artists and creatives, with music and videos featuring prominent traditional Chinese elements. The project's title translates to "The Records of Magnificence of the Wangchuan" - In Chinese mythology, "Wangchuan" (or River of Forgetting) is a river in the Underworld that can rid one of their past life's memories, similar to the river Lethe.

A mobile game adaptation has also been developed by NetEast. Unfortunately, I haven't played it so I can't give much insight on it. However, I assume that its premise is similar to that of the idea behind the project as a whole: all these historical figures meeting each other in the Underworld after they died. Maybe.

Biography of Jing Zhen (ZS35)

[A local notable in Hedong who helped bring the region over to Western Wei following the battle of Shayuan.]

At Xue Shan's using Hedong to respond to Li Bi, Jing Zhen and Jing Xiang likewise led their counties to revert to adherence.

Jing Zhen, courtesy name Guobao, was a native of Puban in Hedong, he was a tenth generation grandson of Han's Inspector of Yang province, Shao. His father Bole was the province's Master of Accounts and Prefect of Anyi. Zhen had an imposing appearance and deportment, was spirited and gallant, and studied and learned riding and shooting. In everything he was acclaimed by the times.

Xiang was Zhen's second cousin. He also had brave forbearance and had great aspirations, and in particular used associating and connecting with the noble and prominent as his activity. Zhen and him were deep friends and fond of each other and always wandered or stayed together.

When Shenwu of Qi hastened to Shayuan, Zhen spoke to Xiang, saying:

When Gao Huan harassed and chased the Driving Carriage, who ran away and moved to Guanyou, who among gentlemen of knowledge did not intend to push a blade into the midst of his belly? It was only that [their] strength has not yet been regulated, that is all. Now he again take up troops for interior bullying, and is about to gratify his nefarious disobedience. This is day for a gentleman with sincere aspirations to hand over his fate. [I] will undertake to lay designs against him with [you,] older brother.

Xiang heard his words and was very pleased. He said:

How might the plan be brought forth?

Zhen said:

Chancellor Yuwen is broad-minded, humane, and has great measures. He has the strategies of a hegemon king, and has held close the Son of Heaven and commanded the various feudal princes already for several years. Observing his government and criminal laws being prepared and instigated, and the generals and soldiers employing his instructions, though Huan has a multitude, in firmness he is not his equal. Furthermore, when management of disobedience and obedience are incomparable, a general will not fight but overwhelm himself.

Suppose we summon and assemble the righteous and brave, cut off his path home, and annihilate and cut off the ears of the nefarious followers. To make not a single wheel turn around would not only wipe away the imperial court's shame, but also be a legacy for strong gentlemen and ennobled princes.

Xiang deeply agreed with him. Thereupon, they, together with the prominent and honoured of the same commandery, Zhang Xiaobai, Fan Zhaoxian, Wang Lüedeng, and others raised troops, and within several days their multitude reached more than ten thousand. When they were about to assail Huan's rear army, the troops had not yet advanced when Shenwu of Qi had already been defeated. Zhen and Xiang intercepted him and subdued and took captive many.

When Li Bi's army arrived in Hedong, Zhen, with Xiaobai and others, led the six Yishi, Nanjie, Beijie, Anyi, Wenquan, and Yuxiang counties with more than a hundred thousand households, to revert to adherence. Taizu commended them, and promptly designated Zhen Grand Warden of Pingyang, acting as Defence Master of Yongning; and Xiang as Dragon-Prancing General and Gentleman-at-Centre to the Acting Tribunal, acting as Defence Master of Xiangli. He also bestowed drums and pipes as an honour special to them. Taizu still holding Zhen's hand, said:

That the house of state has the land of Hedong, my good man, is through the strength of you and your brothers. When turning back with this land delivered to you, my good man, I will have no concerns over the east being looked after.

So it seems that my total is ~41 books read, although it's difficult to count. Thirty-eight different titles, although the web novels are often 3-6 volumes worth each. Manga is even harder to pin down, Naruto alone is 72 volumes and there are a lot of manga I read and don't keep track of or are ongoing. Probably one of the best mysteries I've ever read, and I didn't even realize that the author was the same as one of my favourite horror light novels, Another. (He is also the husband of Fuyumi Ono!) I think it depends on the person whether you will enjoy the ending or not, but I very much did. This and a number of the other murder mysteries I read after it are all by members of the Honkaku Mystery Writers of Japan club who were part of a new wave of "fair play" mysteries based on golden age classics. From there I transitioned into reading more classic mysteries that were referenced in these novels.

The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett Turns out the movie is very accurate to the novel.

One of the golden age mysteries repeatedly referenced by some of the newer mysteries and genuinely a bit scary at points.

Sarng meng is sarng wud. Zhuan seng to become zhi wai. Fui fuk zhi seng, seng fat (cheng fo). Close to Enlightenment which with no differentiation. Mona become pin deng. Xin fo peng deng. That is the state of Buddhahood. Time & space came from one source. Me but still got fa sheng. Western Pureland is created by it too of Amitabha Buddha but it does not have 'zhi xin dong nian'. The world is using a piece of paper to weigh everything, cert for qualification, paper owns land and houses. A piece of paper becomes everything, your self worth as light as a piece of paper....Jing zhen guo. Fang xia chai but ku, let go and burden's gone...Compassion is your focus, is your life. If no compassion then only left unhappiness and sorrow. Happiness in Saha world is the start of unhappiness. Go back to the neutral state is happiness, no unhappiness. You need to peace down, silent give rise to wisdom. My heart is my way place. Wo xin ju shi tao chang. Fo got 52 jie ti. Let go, become Arhat, let go become Pusa and let go become Buddha.

All existence is creation of the mind. How to let go of everything and seek rebirth in Pureland. All existence, this Saha world is creation of the mind / messy thoughts. Our body is our own manifestation of the (our) mind. Let go of the thoughts and mind, it will take u to next creation / manifestation. Practice but forget don't put practice into the mind. Be forgetful but only remember where you are going, Western Pureland so keep that in mind. This is called freedom of the mind (like depicted in Heart Sutra, freedom - zezai), our only aim which is zezai warng serng si fang ji le sher chieh. Love is the opposite of wisdom. Wisdom can only arise from compassion if you can turn love to compassion. Love can be a distraction to a cultivator. Love is not real. Reason stuck in 6 realms of retribution is love (because got form and conditions), everything of this nature is impermanent, hence love is not real, jia xiang. U cant come out. Dont let jia siang chi pien ni de xin. Dont be fooled by a false image / appearance. Use peng deng xin to console sentient beings, Buddha treat everyone like his father, the King. The thanxiang, cow agarwood no longer here. Go Western Pureland: (Haitao Fashi) Use 3 fu tien, kan ern de fu tien, zhun jing de fu tien, cher pei de fu tien. (Chin Kung Fashi) 3 fu, xiao shun fu mu / respective teachers - 1. Filial piety is the root. 2. Take refuges, san kwai yi / chi kai. 3. Sam sun yan ko (first, nian fo yin, cheng fo zhi ko). Ying guang fa shi. Wu liang yik zhi zhai fan now, Da zhi zai tien wang tha men di fu de guang ming bu nen kan dao. In front of rulai, it's gone. Fan fu. We have 51 mental factors

Huan xi pu ser. Pu ser, cai yuen guenx2 lai. All existence are manifestation of karma, the fruits of causes (combination of effects). All are swihuan de. At one point, u are here, there, everywhere in the universe of existence, different space and time like a multiverse. This body is like a bowl of water with lots of salt added (a.k.a. sufferings which r the effects of ur past karma). Everything u have contact with is to let u 'suffer' all circumstances created in some past lives that u cant see or remember. The purpose of cultivation is to realised this truth (6 realms of rebirth). To break and escape this cycle is to achieve Buddhahood. Fastest way is to see all existences as one and of the same. If u destroy ur own defilements u are doing the same for others only when u have compassion and use 'peng deng, chi pei, po re xin'. This body is yeap bo. Life is like a bowl of salt water. Living it is like drinking it. You need to add more water not morr salt so it geys better over time. Get out of it, pour it back to the sea. You dont need to drink it. It is where water would return (thru true self discovery and enlightenment, practice of Buddhism to the highest level).

4 Universal Vows

Also sometimes called the Bodhisattva Vows, as they are essential to the Bodhisattva path of Mahāyāna Buddhism.

1. Sentient beings are limitless; I vow to liberate them.

眾生無邊誓願度

Zhòngshēng wúbiān shìyuàn dù

Zhong Shen Wu Bian Ser Yuan Tu

2. Afflictions are endless; I vow to eradicate them.

煩惱無盡誓願斷

Fánnǎo wújìn shìyuàn duàn

3. Teachings are infinite; I vow to learn them.

4. Buddhahood is supreme; I vow to attain it.

1. Du bu qu. Sorry.

2. Ching yuan liang wo. Please forgive me.

When the Prince, Siddhartha Gautama bids farewell to his father saying:

Even my love for Yasodhara…and my son…

cannot remove the pain I feel.

For I know that they too will have to suffer,

grow old…and die.

Like you, like me, like us all.

Yes. We must all die…

and be reborn…

and die again,

and be reborn and die,

and be reborn and die again.

No man can ever escape that curse.

Then that…is my task. I…will lift that curse.

At the moment of the attainment of awakening, the Buddha uttered the following:

"I travelled through the rounds of countless births through the cycle of existence,

Seeking but not finding the builder of this house [of 'self'] and again and again, I faced the suffering of new birth.

O Housebuilder, you have now been seen,

You shall not build a house again for me.

Your beams [defilements] have now been broken, Your ridgepole [ignorance] utterly shattered.

My mind has attained the supreme

'nibbana' ('blowing out')

Realised is the unconditioned, Achieved is the end of craving."

When attachment arises in our mind it does not feel harmful; on the contrary it usually feels beneficial. Therefore, it is important to contemplate repeatedly the faults of attachment and to recognize it as a delusion whose only function is to cause us harm.

Remember one cannot trust what you sees because ur eyes are imperfecg and cannot see the absolute truth. This organ limitation is bounded by it creations. It is created from delusion. What is deluded cannot revealed it undeluded nature. Just like the blind leading the blind...it is still within the same state which is called suffering. When u see without seeing and when u have sight of not uding any organ is when the truth would be revealed and the absolute truth is the state overcoming delusion or samsara, the true escape of realm of rebirths. Is when u crossed the other shore. The state of relization, Buddhood, the enlightment.

arranged marriage au prompt - I LOVE love pet names and lwj calling wwx "my sweet wei ying" in the last update just about RUINED me so anything more you can do with that I'd be so happy; like lwj figures out wwx reacts extremely well to being called loving pet names and takes it upon himself to shower his husband with every achingly sweet name he can think of and wwx just absolutely losing it

My Wei Ying.

My darling.

These are only three of the tender endearments that Wei Wuxian has heard from his husband’s lips over the last two months, and all of them frighten him as much as they delight him. He knows Lan Zhan’s new affection for him is due to his sense of duty, combined with their renowned great friendship--because how could a marriage between two sworn bi sheng zhi ji be anything but peaceful and happy? They know one another, in every way, from Lan Zhan’s uncanny ability to see through Wei Wuxian’s lies to Wei Wuxian’s easy knowledge of what a drawn muscle on the right side of his xiang gong’s face means, and how the meaning differs when Lan Zhan clenches his teeth on the left side instead.

It is true that Wei Wuxian esteems Lan Zhan above all others, and that Lan Zhan feels the same for him.

He would never have dreamed of calling his friend my sweet husband during a discussion conference, though.

“Lan Zhan, what were you thinking?” he scolds later that night, the moment the two of them are alone in the honeymoon suite Nie Huaisang gave them, despite Wei Wuxian’s protests that the wedding was nearly four months ago and far past any acceptable time for a honeymoon.

“Thank you, Nie-zongzhu,” was all Lan Zhan said to that, wrapping an arm around Wei Wuxian’s waist and kissing him to keep him quiet. “I would have asked for this set of rooms, had you not given it to us.”

His marriage gets more confusing by the day, and it isn’t even Wei Wuxian’s fault.

“Lan Zhan,” he says now, as his husband helps him take off his new Lan hairpieces and worm his way out of his conference robes, “how could you call me such a thing in front of sixteen clans’ worth of dignitaries? Did you see the way they looked at you, after that? Did you see the way they looked at me?”

Lan Zhan only gives him a supremely unconcerned look and undoes the knot securing his forehead ribbon. “What about it?”

Wei Wuxian splutters in disbelief. “You called me xingan, my sweet husband, while feeding me with your own chopsticks, and telling Xiao-Yu that all you wanted him to do was grow up as brave and good as his A-Niang. Have you forgotten that you’re the Chief Cultivator, Lan Zhan? You can’t do these things!”

“Is the Chief Cultivator never to know love, merely because of his rank?” Lan Zhan asks in return. “Did I not vow on the night of our wedding to worship you as you deserved, whether I stood before a crowd of a thousand or you alone?”

“...They were wedding vows, though,” Wei Wuxian offers lamely. “Everyone says things like that when they get married, don’t they?”

His husband lays a hand on his cheek and considers him for a moment, his beautiful dark eyes meeting Wei Wuxian’s like a brand meeting water, or lightning on snow--and Wei Wuxian only keeps himself from swaying forward into Lan Zhan’s arms by sheer willpower, suddenly so desperate to bridge the foot of space between them that he staggers back and shakes his head when Lan Zhan takes a step closer.

“I made my vows in the Cloud Recesses,” he murmurs, holding Wei Wuxian’s quivering palm against his and stroking the inside of his wrist. “Wei Ying.”

“Yes?” Wei Wuxian breathes. “What is it?”

“Recite the seventeenth precept of the Lan sect to your xiang-gong, my heart,” his husband whispers in his ear. “You know it as well as I do.”

“Do not tell falsehoods,” Wei Wuxian whispers back. “So?”

“I have never broken it,” Lan Zhan says quietly. “Never, in eight and thirty years. I could die for you, Wei Ying, and I could live for you and you alone. Surely you understand, by now.”

Wei Wuxian blinks up at him, bewildered. “Understand what?”

A sheet of red silk brushes across his back, and he glances over his shoulder to find the gauzy bed-curtain flapping in the breeze from the open window, reminding Wei Wuxian of their own chuang bed at home, still hung with its drapes of wedding red, and where Wei Wuxian has slept with his husband and child for the past two weeks before they journeyed to Qinghe.

“Understand this, Wei Ying.”

Lan Zhan is even closer now, so close that Wei Wuxian can count his eyelashes, and in the next instant the whole world shifts, and brightens, and changes, in a way Wei Wuxian has never known, nor hoped to know.

(But despite the way he used to laugh with Nie Huaisang over romance novels and forbidden leaflets when he was a boy, Wei Wuxian once swore a solemn oath with his brother to save his first kiss for his future wife, just to make Jiang Cheng feel better about his painful shyness with the Jiang shimeis.

He was fifteen when he made that vow, and twenty-two when he finally broke it in the arms of a husband instead.)
