The Amaru or Katari (Aymara) a majestic twin headed serpent like creature depicted across Andean Civilizations, Originally said to have been capable of transcending spiritual and otherworldly boundaries for the world was Separated into the realm of the gods and birds, Hanan Pacha or the world above; the world where mankind resides the Kay Pacha or world of the present; and finally the underground realm of the dead or the Ukhu Pacha, the world below. where its said the Amaru would move the world by its shear size and force of will, creating many of the mountainous outcroppings seen in the region, or creating devastating earthquakes. This would gain the great beasts the ire of the of gods and leading to cataclysmic and deadly conflict's the great serpents deaths would create vast mountain ranges.

The revered creatures lore and depictions would be altered to suit changing society's and foreign colonial influence trying and suppress Indigenous beliefs and values, some Incan rulers even tried to harness this power by adopting name for themselves to try and cement their political gain . Eventually this lead to depictions that suited a more chimeric monstrous for, reflecting its old world counter parts, adopting traits from many other creature, to now be defeated by mere humans.

some cultures preserved and even re incorporated these new aspects with the old, creating hybrid depictions and gaining very broad symbolism such as the economy of water, and tending to the land, and even more cosmological aspects of space or wisdom, or simple fundamentals of the creativity of the peoples, sometimes these new Amaru could be seen clashing with each other. representing the more destructive side of nature, devastating the peoples and the lands, too only be stopped by the storms themselves or through the intervention of their old rivals, now taking a new cast of god's. once again through death creating the Mantaro valley returning to their earthly roots.

Why is the Geth Star/Southern Cross (I assume that’s what it’s based on) called Ukhu Pacha?

Karna Rog is based on Don Armage, who is in turn based on these deformed Peruvian Skeletons.

The Incas who lived in Peru believed in three separate worlds, Hanaq Pacha (the world above), Kay Pacha (this world), and Ukhu Pacha (the world below). Hanaq Pacha was a world of the sun, moon, and stars, and the realm of many gods. Kay Pacha is our world, with all the people, animals, and plants. And finally, Ukhu Pacha is the realm of the dead and new life, inhabited by both the Incan fertility goddess Pachamama, as well as the Supay, demons that torment the living as well as a god of death. Some versions of the myths apparently state that the righteous would be able to go to Hanaq Pacha after death, while the wicked were damned for Ukhu Pacha. That being said, as a realm of new life as well it wasn’t seen as an entirely negative concept.

As such, I decided that the name of the Incan underworld would be appropriate given what Karna Rog is based on.

My heart is happy and I am comforted by the space around me.

To the south I glimpse the home of my ancestors.

To the north I glimpse the Great Lakes and the frost on the ground.

To the west I remember the sun and glimpse the plains, the deserts and the mountains. The Pacific Ocean and the Channel Islands wave to me.

To the east I remember the sun and glimpse the swamps, the hills and the prairies. The Atlantic Ocean and Greenland wave to me.

Stars above my head.

Earth below my feet.

Es una canción con la que me siento muy conectada con mis raíces indígenas y la forma de ver la vida desde la Cosmovisión Andina. Como concepto tomé el Illimani como símbolo de femineidad. Llegué a este concepto por la memoria de un cuento que me contaron cuando era niña, el cual trataba de un amor imposible en cual la mujer se convirtió en el Illimani. Además fue muy importante para mí analizarlo desde la Cosmovisión Andina. En esta existe un mundo llamado "Ukhu Pacha", es el mundo que se encuentra debajo de la tierra, son las raíces que nos sostienen, donde descansan nuestros antepasados, donde muere y nace la vida. Fue importante para mí generar imágenes que me remitan a estas concepciones, este fue el resultado:

La primera imagen fue generada en programación creativa y vi en ella formas de montañas que parecían repetirse infinitamente. La segunda imagen es una fotografía de autoría de mi amigo Cheme. Cuando escogí la imagen que utilizaría de programación creativa, casi inmediatamente pensé en utilizar esta fotografía como parte de la composición. Este es el resultado final:

Filistin Selalu Di Hati

Tahun ini rindu itu tak terobati. Wabah menuntut hampir setiap hal untuk memanjangkan waktunya. Termasuk rindu Filistin. Tak seperti tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Setiap Ramadhan kerap kali rindu itu terobati. Rindu akan apapun yang berkait dengan negeri yang diberkahi itu. Terobati dengan hadirnya guru-guru istimewa yang berasal dari Palestina di bumi Serambi Mekkah. Tahun demi tahun. Momen yang ditunggu-tunggu apalagi jikalau bukan lantunan ayat-ayat Quran oleh sang Syeikh yang mengimami kami sholat tarawih dalam safari ramadhan. Ayat-ayat akan janji kemenangan oleh Nya. Tergetar hati ini serasa getir dan pilu itu jelas hadir dalam bacaan sang syeikh. Tapi dibaliknya menelusup kesyahduan dan keyakinan bahwa janjiNya pastilah datang. Allah...izinkanlah kami menjadi bagian dari perjuangan ini meski bukan siapa-siapa dan kerja kami bukanlah apa-apa. Izinkan kami Ya Rabb..mencari ridho Mu dan dicintai oleh RasulMu.

Tahun ini kami sanggup menahan rindu itu. Tapi izinkanlah kami dapat segera kembali bertemu saudara-saudara Filistin kami yang kami bergembira bila bertemu mereka dan mereka pun bergembira bertemu kami. Ya Rabb, bingkailah perjuangan ini dalam keindahan ukhuwah di jalan tegaknya kalimatMu, persatukanlah hati-hati kami hingga kelak ke surga Mu..insyaallah.
