Ways to make your home more Energy Efficient this Winter Season.
As the season changes and winter arrives, so do the concerns about rising energy bills and falling energy efficiency. On top of that, there’s the cost of living crisis, which has got the low income families in a tight spot. On one hand, upgraded heating systems would lower one’s energy bills in the long run, while on the other, the onetime cost of getting these upgrades is not economical for everyone. My Gov UK is there to answer the prayers of those who cannot afford the up gradation of their old heating systems. Government Grants under the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) offer financial support to certain households that qualify for the same. For more details on this, you could visit the UK Gov Website.
Households can also contribute towards the net zero initiative of the UK Government. While you could get draught excluders or insulation done to your homes in order to delay turning on the heating, there are other ways to ensure energy efficiency even when the heating becomes absolutely necessary.
· Having Smart Controls will allow you to actively adjust the heating according to the weather outside, even from the comfort of your beloved sofa bed.
· Keeping Smart Meters at homes is a great contributor to the energy efficiency initiative. It helps the energy providers manage their transmissions through feedback received from homes.
· Keeping the Thermostat in a neutral temperature zone will help in getting the correct temperature readings, thus avoiding wasteful energy usage.
· Adjust the thermostatic radiator valves to avoid using heat in unused rooms.
· Experimentation always comes in handy. Try reducing the thermostat temperature 1 degree at a time to see if you’re comfortable while being energy efficient.
· Boilers installed before 2004 are non condensing models, which are highly inefficient. Upgrading to an A-Rated boiler is sure to help you save as much as 200 Pounds a year in energy bills.
· To ensure that the resources used to power your boilers are renewable ones in contrast to the traditional fossil fuel power generation, switch to a green energy supplier that you find to be cost-effective for you.
Making sure that you turn off the heat as weather changes is another way to be energy efficient. Utility Bidder has predicted March 14th to be the most popular date among UK households, for turning down their thermostats as winters recede.

Online Turkish Visa
Tumblr media
Turkey is a popular travel destination for tourists all around the world due to its rich history, cultural heritage, and stunning landscapes. However, before you pack your bags and book your flight to Turkey, you need to make sure that you have obtained the necessary documents to enter the country. One of these documents is a visa, and fortunately, Turkey offers an online visa application process, making it easier for travelers to obtain their visas.
What is an Online Turkish Visa?
An online Turkish visa, also known as an e-Visa, is an electronic travel authorization document that allows travelers to enter Turkey for a short-term stay. This document is issued by the Turkish government and can be obtained online through the official website.
The online Turkish visa is a single-entry visa and allows travelers to stay in Turkey for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. This means that you can enter Turkey multiple times within the 180-day period, but the total duration of your stay should not exceed 90 days.
Who Needs an Online Turkish Visa?
Travelers from many countries need a visa to enter Turkey, and the list of countries is constantly updated. As of September 2021, citizens of the following countries are eligible to apply for an online Turkish visa:
Australia
Austria
Belgium
Canada
Croatia
Cyprus
Czech Republic
Denmark
Estonia
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Italy
Japan
Latvia
Lithuania
Luxembourg
Malta
Mexico
Netherlands
New Zealand
Norway
Poland
Portugal
Slovakia
Slovenia
South Korea
Spain
Sweden
Switzerland
United Kingdom
United States
If you are a citizen of a country that is not listed above, you need to apply for a visa through a Turkish embassy or consulate.
How to Apply for an Online Turkish Visa?
Applying for an online Turkish visa is a simple and straightforward process. Here are the steps you need to follow:
Visit the official website: Start by visiting the official website of the Turkish government for e-Visa application (www.evisa.gov.tr).
Fill out the application form: Provide your personal information, passport details, and travel plans.
Make the payment: The fee for an online Turkish visa is 35 USD, and you can pay using a credit or debit card.
Receive your e-Visa: After submitting your application and payment, you will receive your e-Visa via email within a few hours or days.
Print your e-Visa: Once you receive your e-Visa, print a copy and keep it with you during your trip to Turkey.
Conclusion
The online Turkish visa makes it easier for travelers to obtain their travel authorization document without having to visit a Turkish embassy or consulate. However, it's essential to check the eligibility criteria and ensure that you have all the necessary documents before applying for an online Turkish visa. With the online visa application process, you can easily obtain your visa and start planning your trip to Turkey, where you can enjoy the vibrant culture, beautiful beaches, and delicious cuisine.

So I have been following along quietly for a few months now. Not gonna lie, pretty burnt out on all of this. Pretty much at the point where the BRF needs to shit or get off the pot when it comes to Harry and Meghan. Strip the titles and give the US Gov a strict ultimatum, the UK or THEM. Take them off the royal website and shut down any and all connection to them for good.
I will tune in if there is a divorce. No way in HELL would I miss that. Especially since I have been dying for one since May 20, 2018.
As for the new book and Omid once again showing his true colors...yeah we all knew that was going to happen. I knew in advance this book was going to be a total dumpster fire and a pile on Kate. Don't need insiders or a psychic to tell me that...
However, it never crossed my mind he would claim Kate was one of the royal racists. I truly didn't think he, nor Meghan, would go that low. But alas, I was wrong.
I figured he would call out Charles as one of them but I thought he would claim William was the other.
Remember also, Meghan claimed that there were MANY conversations held regarding Archie, although according to Harry this was before Meghan was even pregnant and Meghan was never part of these conversations.
Back in 2018 before the wedding, we all know Kate was pregnant with Louis. Now I can see Harry inquiring about Kate's pregnancy and what it was like to prepare himself for future fatherhood. I can also see a conversation happening in regards as to who this potential baby would take after looks like since George looks like Mike Middleton and Charlotte looks like William. Heck, this conversation could have happened before he even proposed to Meghan.
What I can see happening is a casual conversation between Harry and Kate being mentioned to Meghan where Harry says "yeah we talked about what the baby would look like" and Meghan turning that into it being racist. Then over time the exaggerations begin and the next thing we know, Meghan has claimed on Oprah that skin tone was brought up and she was there...even though later corrected her saying it was before she was ever pregnant and she wasn't there.
So that's my thought on that...
As for Omid...
The biggest issue with him denying that he NEVER wrote the names of the royal racists and that it was a "translation error" is something he got right from the book of Meghan. Deny till you die or until they actually find proof you're lying.
Omid has already been caught lying under oath and he got a free pass. He is taking a page out of Meghan's book and expecting people to forget that he is a habitual liar or that he "misremembered" what actually happened.
However, we have the actual translator coming out and saying that the book she received included the names and that she did NOT mistranslate the book. All this woman needs to do now is show her copy of the manuscript she received (hopefully she still has it) and we have proof once again Omid lied.
Guaranteed though he will claim that the publisher must have been the one to change the manuscript and he is innocent...
Which either scenario leaves him without credibility or any future jobs because no publisher or network will touch him after this...

If I see one more stupid take on the stop oil van gogh protest im gonna lose it so in bullet points:
The painting is fine. It was behind glass. The person who threw the soup knew it was behind glass beforehand.
The UK is entering a cost of living crisis unlike any we've seen before (with the possible exception of Thatcher's Britain back in the 80s), and many people cannot afford to heat their homes. While oil and energy companies report record profits.
The point of this exercise was to demonstrate how much more people would care about even the thought of a painting being destroyed, compared to the reality of the lives that WILL be destroyed over the winter. When they can't yknow. Afford to eat or heat their homes.
No, they are not funded by Big Oil. Just Stop Oil DOES receive funding from the climate emergency fund which WAS started by Aileen Getty, yes. But she has zero active investments in the oil industry, and HAS spent a large amount of money sponsoring climate groups. Think of her as the Abigail Disney of oil.
The source of that conspiracy theory is a tiktok video and its mostly being reported in the telegraph which. Kinda says everything.
For people saying stuff like "but it had nothing to do with oil! Why don't you egg the houses of execs <3 Why don't you riot 😊 Why don't you kill oil execs uwu OK why don't you? I mean jesus be realistic. The rioting may come yet but this was a PUBLICITY STUNT. To raise awareness for their organisation.
If you are not from the UK/are from the UK and not familiar with the new protest laws, please refrain on commenting at all about method of protest.
The bill is as follows:
" [to] Widen the range of conditions that the police can impose on public assemblies to match existing police powers to impose conditions on public processions."
" [to] Broaden the range of circumstances in which police may impose conditions on a protest."
" [to] Amend the offence relating to the breaching of conditions"
" [to] Restate the common law offence of public nuisance in statute."
Meaning, any people doing ANYTHING the police don't like (up to and including holding BLANK SIGNS which happened after the queen died) can now result in arrest and forced dispersal (ie police violence). (There are more lines to the bill ive just chosen the ones relevant to this situation, but they're all on the gov website)
(Side note): I actually just read the page on gov.uk which I went on to copy the law and jesus christ they outright blame BLM protests for this. Like explicitly.
I BELIEVE i saw a story not that long ago about someone arrested under this bill being held without trial for like, months but I can't remember the details
In short people in the UK now have to get increasingly creative with how we protest, so as to avoid significant sentences. The two in this case were arrested for trespass instead of under this bill, which carries a significantly more minor penalty.
Shift your goddamn focus away from stupid conspiracies for a second and pay attention to what is happening in REALITY.
(If any of you make comments or send me stuff about this without at least attempting to fact check yourself beforehand im not responding, and deleting.)

What would you think about showing your support for Palestine?
I don't understand the question. What would I think? What do I think about showing my support specifically, or about other people showing their support?
I support Palestine of course. Below are some links:
Tumblr media
🟡 Information
If you know nothing about the history of the Palestine-Israel conflict, you can start with Decolonize Palestine website; particularly the Palestine 101 section. It won't take much time. Also the myths section; the myths address most of the typical zionists' arguments.
Palquest also seems good if you want to understand the chronology of what has happened on the land since the Ottoman Empire, it was set up by the Institute for Palestine Studies and the Palestinian Museum. But I haven't explored everything yet since it's massive.
If you think those are too biased or whatever, you can supplement them by googling more info yourself about things such as The First Zionist Congress, Balfour Declaration, Great Palestinian Rebellion, Nakba, 1948 Arab–Israeli War, creation of Hamas, etc. Read multiple websites for each one of these. Compare and contrast the info.
I also suggest you watch videos from anti-zionist jews on tiktok; search #jewsagainstzionism #antizionistjew.
Tumblr media
🟡 October 2023
You can refer to this post, there are links that talk about the recent October events. This is also a brief summary on how Hamas-Israel October 7 impacted Gaza.
To get recent updates:
People: Motaz Azaiza (a photographer who provides video updates of what's happening in Gaza). Plestia Alaqad (a journalist who also provides updates in Gaza). Click on their IG stories.
News: AlJazeera English, Eye On Palestine.
Others: Chris Kunzler, Subhi.
That list is not comprehensive of course, but you can use those as a starting point. You can also follow the #palestine or #gaza tags on tiktok and tumblr. I suggest tiktok since news travel a lot faster there.
Tumblr media
🟡 What can you do
Rallies: Join Palestine solidarity rallies in your country if you can; this is a list of rallies from October 28 to November 5. But make sure you read guidelines and know how to behave during a rally, also pay attention to what is lawful and what isn't in your country.
Demand a ceasefire: For those who are in the USA, in the UK. I don't live in those countries so I don't know much, feel free to explore the tags. Americans really have a reason to be mad, your gov use your tax money and army to help the IOF kill kids. I don't even want to begin talking about Britain.
Boycott: Refer to BDS Movement to know what main brands to boycott, there are several like HP and Siemens. There are also other brands, you can find the info on tiktok; but from what I know people are currently focusing on Starbucks, McD and Disney.
Donate: This is long-term help, since people can barely get aids into Gaza at the moment (except for the recent 20 trucks). But some of them are still taking donation, so check. Palestine Red Crescent Society, Palestine Children's Relief Fund, Medical Aid for Palestinians, Baitulmaal, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan.
Tumblr media
🟡 Others
I haven't tried these yet for personal reason but these are highly recommended by people.
Life in Occupied Palestine documentary by Anna Baltzer, who is a Jewish-American.
The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine book by Ilan Pappé, an Israeli historian and socialist activist. He has also written an article about what happened recently.
Another list of published books you can read to learn more. Edit: I couldn't link it. Go to tiktok and next to tiktok(.)com/, paste this: @book.butch/video/7293673677256903982?lang=en
Tumblr media
Double check the info and the links. I might have missed something, so if there's wrong info or any correction needs to be done, kindly let me know.
If you have questions about the conflict, don't ask me; follow the links and people I've listed above. I am dealing with fatigue and emotional exhaustion, the issue has been triggering anxiety attacks.
Zionists do not interact.

the UK will be having local elections this may! they're important because not only will it determine who's in charge of advocating for your local area in the house of commons. not only that, but it'll also decide how many MPs there are labour, how many are tory, and how many are independent parties!
if you aren't yet registered to vote, you can do so for free - if you are in England or Northern Ireland, you'll need to be eighteen by the time your local election rolls around but if you're in Scotland or Wales, you only need to be sixteen to vote (and it'll also be a good idea to be registered before the general election next year).
it's not just about registering to vote - you have to show up. the majority of people voting Conservative will make sure that they show up on polling day, as most of them either have more free time or are able to arrange free time to go vote. however, most polling stations are open until 10pm at night!
also please note: you'll need to have a valid form of Photo ID in order to vote. If you do NOT have this, you can apply for a "Voter Authority Certificate" on the UK gov website. this is FREE and can be done with just a recent photograph of yourself and your National Insurance Number (or some other forms of documentation to prove your identity).
there you go! TAKE YOUR VOTING ENERGY TO THE POLLS, OUR UK FOLLOWERS! GO EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE!!!

PEOPLE IN THE UK - Ceasefire Vote 21st Feb 2024
Tumblr media
Taken from the PSC facebook page for my area:
"On 21st February there will be a Ceasefire vote in parliament on a Motion by the SNP. PSC is calling for a physical lobby of Parliament, preceded by an avalanche of emails and tweets."
The least you can do is WRITE AND EMAIL your MP urging them to vote in favour of an immediate ceasefire. Writing to your MP is easy and simple - find their contact details on the UK Gov website and follow the advice.
You don't need to be a wordsmith, it's vital you make your voice heard! Your letter must contain the following things:
1: The issue you want addressing (Ceasefire in Gaza)
2: Why it's important to you (death toll, genocide, UK complicity, risk of regional war)
3: What you want them to do (vote for the ceasefire on February 21st!)
If you don't know how to format a letter, there's loads of guides online, I used Crisis UK's guide to writing to your MP.
Now crack on! And please share.

Laws: Industrial Action
Uh, so the laws on Industrial Action in the UK are kind of complicated. We do not actually have the right to go on strike in this country. If we do, we have to jump through a million hoops to show that we have reason to.
Essentially, the law makes it as hard as possible to strike and heavily favours the employers over the workers.
Basic important things to remember if you are in a union/ want to take industrial action:
You are not protected if you participate in a 'wildcat strike'
If you do not vote when your union sends out a ballot, it counts as a vote against the strike
You must only participate in a dispute related to your own employer, therefore you are NOT allowed to strike in solidarity with other trades. You will not be protected from dismissal if you do so.
Non-union members who take part in legal industrial action have the same rights are union members not to be dismissed (A/N: I didn't know this!)
Other things to remember:
Unions in the UK essentially have to be approved by the gov, so they have to follow these rules or they are not allowed to operate. Hence why the International Workers of the World is not a recognised union here
Relevant Laws:
Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992
Employment Rights Act 1996

The weasel got drugs
Fallon has been struggling with seizures for couple years now, started off as a twice-a-year thing, but have never been typical enough nor frequent enough to make the vet advise the drugs. Slowly they have accelerated, and last two months they hit frequency at which both I and the vet decided we need to do something about it. We've got the medication (phenobarbital solution drops) and an a-ok from the bloodwork, and vet's support, but I was kinda wondering, if anyone's got any experience with this med from dog owner's side? (wouldn't scoff on vet's opinion either, but again, she's under vet's care) Both with adjustment period, and long-term usage. I worry she'll slow down (and while like, we could use her being a bit less bonkers, but she's my beloved freak, you know.) or will just not feel like herself.
Tumblr media
She's quite good with medication taking (or consuming things in general) so I'm not too worried about getting the medication into her, but I do worry. I've read through the leaflet like five times, but still, I'd appreciate any and all bits of information (could do with some reassurances as well to be completely honest) On top of that, very much of a UK question: I've seen online websites with animal meds that are REALLY cheaper than what we'll come up to (difference between £100 I'm ready to shell out per month, and less than £50 for the same med is quite astounding, but... are they legit? Stuff like petdrugsonline for example. They seem to require vet's prescription, and are on gov website as legit business but it's my first time even thinking about sth like this, and I don't want to risk getting out of medication because the thing is really a lie)

Hi, about the TS London house… I think it’s 82 Fitzjohn’s Avenue in Hampstead, last sold for £10.5m in 2020. The latest planning application from October you can search for on the Camden Council website and it talks about a pool and orangery which matches up with the Sun article. There is another planning application from 2021 that has a lot of pics showing the inside is a wreck and needs a lot of renovation so would make sense why her and Joe didn’t live there through lockdown.
"Forgot to say it’s a white house with blue windows and a huge garden. In the sun pic you can just about see the blue door frame at the top of the pic which matches with the planning application pics camdocs DOT camden DOT gov DOT uk/HPRMWebDrawer/Record/10251051/file/document?inline" - ah ok- interesting! this link didnt work for me. the camden website never does, i wish i knew why :( is there any chance you can send me screenshots/pics? who is listed as owner on the applications, does it say?
they did say it was owned by a politician didnt they?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
maybe your right anon!
owner is listed as London law firm 'Mills & Reeve ' - not surprising at all to see that, if she does own it.

Plus, people will still have to actually go to their website for information. Not gonna lie...that's work.
Especially since archewell completely failed so why do they think round 3 is going to work???
But I am curious that the domain name Sussex was even available. It’s very generic and is a city/county or whatever so you’d think the government would have a monopoly on the name for a website
I think there was a blog that had the breakdown of the Sussex website ownership.
Most towns or counties will typically have .gov or in the UK .uk after the web name.
I bet that they bought it and it probably has taken four years to get it...
The thing with Archewell was they never updated it and it really was pretty blah when it came to details about their projects. Heck, they didn't even have a page dedicated to their employees, probably because their employees quit left and right so to update would be a full time job.

Would you recommend an apprenticeship to someone planning to self-learn programming? Honestly the industry is a maze to me, there's so many options and I don't know where to begin (especially since a lot of the sources you can find about where to start with self-teaching and programming in general is based on USA statistics and whatnot, which could misinform my expectations as I am not located in the US).
Tumblr media
Honestly since I don’t know where you live, I can’t specific recommend any apprenticeships.
I live in the UK and in recent years the UK Government has basically pushed for more people to do apprenticeships in various areas and fields so you can literally find an apprenticeship in anything these days.
There’s literally a page in the UK Gov website to find apprenticeships near you - LINK
You can check out the place I currently do my apprenticeship at QA Apprenticeships - LINK
Those are the two resources I used to find my apprenticeship, I don’t know lots on all the apprenticeships available unfortunately 🥲
But I hope this helps you, I understand everything is very American based so kind of blinded to see the opportunities available to you in your own city or country! I would recommend an apprenticeship since they help you with the skills and experience as well as getting paid 😩🙌🏾
Good luck to finding an apprenticeship!
