...
They're so gonna make Alya Maribugs main partner from S6 onwards & turn Adrichat into nothing but Marinettes littl boyfriend who's gonna take ova the Bakery.
The show's gonna chuck Adrien into the Dupain-Chengs kitchen now that the teams back so he can b her little house spouse hubby who will forever make her a sandwich and never ever ask for more.
There are 15 more full-time heros now on LBs team. Adrien is only gonna leave the kitchen again when Ladybug asks him to when they need his cataclysm.
That shit just makes too much sense oh my goooooooooooood
Tumblr media
I remember the time Wen I loved the idea of Adrien takin over the Bakery but at this point of the morality of Marinettes Story? ..lets not kid ourselves. Marinette Dupain-Cheng ended up standing for nothing but revenge porn feminism coated under a narrative that teaches bullied girls questionable leadership on other people's expenses the villains have to make up for by just... conveniently not doing the logical thing, & to hate everyone round them who doesn "treat them right".
If Adrien takes over the Bakery its just so he can be Marinettes stay-at-home hubby who takes care of the children, their home, her parents and will make her a sandwich for all eternity... It aint gonna happen for him, it's happening so she can be a #girlboss with her whipped malewife at her service an thats it...
Gosh abused children are watching this...

quarantine is making me rlly lonely n missing my friends so i was hoping you could make some hcs of lovesquare video chat shenanigans ? (or just friendship ones in general !!) i love your art !
AWWW hello and i completely get how u feel! i miss my friends too :(
• adrienette post reveal and established relationship use a plethora of different messenger services to video call but their personal favourite is facebook messenger because of the filters. usually they spend entire calls using the filters and making each other laugh or playing those filter games where you have to move your head around to catch certain things. one evening theyre having a heart to heart over the video call bc marinette was just feeling Not Great, so they go completely filterless for a long time because adrien's mostly just telling marinette how much she means to him and stuff while she wipes her tears, and at the end when she's feeling better she says 'goodnight adrien, i love you' but promptly bursts out laughing because he accidentally clicked on a really ugly filter in the middle of it
• plot twist: one day adrien is allowed out but marinette is not. can you imagine. like adrien's father actually lets him meet with his friends but marinette is stuck at home because her parents went out and someone was gonna have to come and pick up their order from the bakery (à la timebreaker) so adrien takes it upon himself to video call marinette so she can join in... :') they're hanging out at alya's house and adrien doesnt realise but he's hogging the phone so alya ends up prying him off like 'dude we get it you love her but let us talk to her too!'
• 3am pre reveal ladynoir on burner phones. they go from having a really emotional conversation about how if the world turns against them they'll always have each other into trying to spell the word 'onion' in as many different ways as possible and Crying with laughter
• ^ in addition to this, marinette ends up sending whispered voice messages while she's laughing to save time from typing and adrien listens to them with the biggest grin on his face while listening to her laugh
• this is more friendship instead of video chat but:
ladybug, after a few moments of silence during patrol: i dare you to say a swear word
chat noir: no
ladybug: please im curious
chat noir: *quietly* crap
• prpr marinette smacking adrien with a rolled up magazine while he laughs. idk why this would happen but i know it Would

With Time: Chapter 24 - Sick Day
Author’s Note: Hey, look, and update that's on time. Good way to start off the new year I suppose! I hope the decade has been going well for you guys, and if not, I hope that this angst-free chapter can be, at the very least, something that makes you happy.
Chapter Summary: Falling in a snowdrift tends to have negative consequences on one's health, so the Quantics check on their favorite designer.
First | Previous | Saturday
The moment the bakery opens, Allan walks in. He smiles at Tom and Sabine, waving as he heads in the back. He walks a little faster than what is probably necessary, but he’s worried.
He’s calmed down some - making something helps - but he’d like to check on Marinette himself. Falling in a snowdrift in this sort of weather is not good for your health.
Looking at his phone he sees a text from Felix.
Felix: Allan, do not wake up early solely to check on Marinette. I am certain she is fine, perhaps she has a cold at the very worst. Her parents would have let us know if she was seriously ill.
 The Mom Friend: to late
 Melodie: Oh Allan.
The Mom Friend: I just want to check on her quick.
Kid Mime: ill head over to
Kid Mime: its ok allan
 The Mom Friend: but stil
He pushes the trapdoor open gently, “‘Nette? You up?”
No response. That’s fine. She’s probably sleeping. She’s fine. She’s just sick. Probably.
It wouldn’t hurt to check.
He climbs the ladder, breathing a sigh of relief when he sees her curled against the wall, clearly breathing and perfectly fine.
Maybe she isn't fine. She might be sick. It’s just a cold. A flu at the worst.
It could be something worse. She fell into a snowdrift and stayed there for a while.
How long has she been sleeping? Sleeping for too long could be bad. He almost wakes her up, then he hesitates. Maybe she’s only just gone to sleep. If that’s the case, maybe he shouldn’t.
Is there a way to tell how long someone has been asleep?
He’s standing at the top of the ladder, hesitating for too long. Oh come on. She’s fine. She’s fine, you know she’s fine. It makes the most sense given all the facts.
But what if she’s not? He’s no doctor, but when he thinks of the consequences of prolonged exposure to cold he thinks of three things: a cold, the flu, and pneumonia.
Pneumonia.
That can kill people.
Maybe he should wake her up.
He’s still hesitating when the trapdoor opens. He doesn’t have to turn to know Claude has arrived.
“Do you think she has pneumonia?” He doesn't look from her when he asks the question, but Claude can hear the anxiety in his voice.
“No, Allan. I don’t think she has pneumonia.”
“But maybe-”
“Shhh. Allan, she’s fine. Get off the ladder.”
“We aren’t doctors-”
“So we can’t diagnose her with anything. We’ll assume it’s the flu for now, and if it seems bad we’ll get her to a doctor. Come on.” Claude gently coaxes him down the ladder, “How much did you sleep last night?”
“Maybe four hours?”
“Maybe?” “Okay, about two an’ a half…” he sees Claude’s look, “It wasn’t just ‘cause of Mari. It’s just… once I get started…”
“You don’t stop. Oh, Al’.” Claude has safely helped the other boy onto the floor, and they lead him to the chaise, “Sit down at the very least. Mari won’t mind. I understand if you can’t get yourself to sleep, but you deserve to rest.”
“...how long do you think she’s been sleeping? Would it be worse t’ wake her up too early or too late?” he startles at his last words, sitting up further, “I don’t like the sound of ‘too late’ maybe we should-”
Claude squeezes his hand a little, “Allan. Marinette is fine. It’s only a cold. Maybe the flu.”
“Right. She’s fine. Everything is fine.” he doesn’t sound entirely convinced, but he nods anyways.
Claude nods too, claiming the desk chair to work on a few things he’d brought over. They’d only grabbed their backpack, which had only a portion of their homework, but Allan had needed someone. Claude hadn’t been doing anything important anyways - just trying to find the most annoying memes he could possibly send to Felix.
After about 45 minutes, he looks up from the finished packet to see that Allan has fallen asleep against the chaise lounge. He’s rather precariously near the edge, and that just won’t do.
When they stand to move him further onto the longue, they notice that he’s holding his phone loosely. After adjusting his position and putting a blanket over him, Claude swipes the phone quickly, returning to the desk chair as he unlocks it.
He opens to the search results for ‘early signs of pneumonia’.
Allan, sweetie, no.
They close the phone, leaving it on the desk and opening his own to inform Felix, Adrien, and Allegra of the current status of their two most anxious friends.
Kid Mime: ive ben here for a bit
Kid Mime: al is napping
Kid Mime: hes worried that mari has newmonia
 Melodie: Allan, honey.
Kid Mime: mari is still asleep
Kid Mime: she seems fine
Felix: Allegra and I can join you in an hour or so.
Hug This Boy: I might be able to sneak away around lunch? If I finish the shoots early.
Melodie: Gabriel does realize you’re a child, not a machine, right?
Hug This Boy: You already are worried about two of us, there’s no need to make it three.
 Melodie: Watch me.
Kid Mime: i have 2 say im with her on this
Kid Mime: im gunna kidnap u
 Felix: That’s illegal.
Kid Mime: that makes it exciting
Felix: I know when I’m fighting a losing battle.
Hug This Boy: Do I get a say in this?
Melodie: Of course. We wouldn’t make you do anything you don’t want to do.
 Kid Mime: subtle
Hug This Boy: What a concept.
Hug This Boy: Maybe I can get behind this.
Melodie: I wasn’t going for ‘subtle’.
Melodie: More something along the lines of ‘GABRIEL AGRESTE IS A TERRIBLE PARENT WHO WOULDN”T KNOW THE MEANING OF LOVE/CARE IF IT PUNCHED HIM IN THE GUT’
 Kid Mime: pretty close
Hug This Boy: Maybe putting it a little lightly, but that’s the gist of it.
 Melodie: Oh you poor baby.
---
Felix and Allegra show up, entering the room quietly.
“Good. They’re both still sleeping.” Allegra comments.
“Did Allan tell you how many hours of sleep he had last night?” Felix inquires.
“Two and a half.” Claude says matter-of-factly.
“Honey.”
“And how is Marinette?”
“She’s been sleeping the whole time. She feels a little warm, but that’s about all I can tell without waking her up.”
Allegra hums, climbing up the ladder to check on the girl herself. Marinette hasn’t moved much and is resting contentedly. Putting her hand to the sick girl’s forehead, Allegra can tell that Claude was right. Definitely a little warm.
Marinette’s eyes open slightly, squinting at the braided blonde.
“Hi honey, how’re you feeling?”
Marinette shakes her head slightly, giving a thumbs down.
“Well, I’m sorry to hear that. Are you gonna get up or are you going back to sleep?”
She gives a half shrug. Being awake sounds nice, but her eyes keep slipping shut.
“Alright. We’re all here. Except for Adrien.”
Marinette mumbles something bitterly, but all her friend picks up is ‘Gabriel’. She’s got some ideas of what Marinette might have said.
Allegra turns to the boys once she’s off the ladder, “She’s awake-ish. I’m not sure how long that’ll last, but she’s awake enough to hate on Gabriel Agreste.”
“Is that honestly her priority right now?” Felix asks.
“It’s always a priority,” is all he gets as a response.
Claude has produced a cup of water from who-knows-where, and he carries it up to Marinette.
“Hi sweetie, are you still awake?”
She shrugs, forcing her eyes open to squint at them. Once she sees the water she reaches for it, but gives up halfway.
“You sure you can hold this? You’re barely awake.”
Her glare is probably supposed to be defiant, but when she keeps having to force her eyes open, it isn’t exactly effective.
“Sure. You can have this when you’re sitting up then.” he returns to the ground and places the water on the desk, turning to Felix and Allegra as he spins in the desk chair, “So what have you two been up to?”
“Nothing that you are unaware of,” Felix sits on Marinette’s case against the wall.
“We got back a little early. I’m glad to be back - not that the trip was bad, it’s just nice to be home.” Allegra rests against the chaise, glancing at the sleeping boy on it momentarily.
“What do ya’ think Mari was doing outside?”
“It does seem odd, given her predisposition to staying indoors when it is as cold as it was yesterday.”
“We can ask her when she wakes up more.”
“She might just try to sleep through it. She’ll probably be even more tired than normal so…” Claude shrugs.
Before the others can say anything, there’s a shuffling from above. Marinette props herself up and blinks down at them.
“Hello,” Felix greets her for the first time that day.
She only blinks, still trying to decide if she made the right decision by sitting up.
“You can have the water now!” Claude grabs the water from where they placed it, carrying it up to Marinette, who is able to grab it this time. She’s visibly shivering.
She finishes it off, placing it on a shelf beside her. It takes a moment, but she is able to give a soft, “Thank you.”
“It’s no problem. How you feelin’?”
She sticks out her tongue, “Bad.”
“Could you specify?” Felix calls up.
“Tired. Cold. Ache.”
“Temperature?” Allegra chimes in.
Marinette frowns as she tries to remember, Claude taps her arm and points out the thermometer.
“38.2 (100.8℉),” They read out for her. She’s beginning to slump slightly, probably debating whether or not she should rest.
“Do you want any ibuprofen or anything?” Allegra offers.
Marinette hums, drooping further. She straightens slightly, trying to seem alert and looking apologetic.
“Still tired?” Claude cocks his head at her, smiling softly.
“...no…I’m ‘wake...” she has propped herself up, relying heavily on one arm, and is sitting up fairly straight. If it weren’t for her head resting on her shoulder, she might have looked a little more convincing - if you also excluded all other factors.
“Really?”
“Yup…” She remains sitting, and feigns attentiveness.
Claude is resting against the wall next to her, looking doubtful, but he doesn’t comment.
“So what were you doing outside yesterday?” Allegra asks. If she’s going to pretend she can hold a conversation, then they may as well try.
Marinette mumbles a little, her arm seemingly failing to support her as before. She leans against Claude lightly, as though she is both in denial of her weariness and worried about somehow upsetting them.
“Still with us, Mare?” “Mhm.” She forces her eyes open again,
“Somehow, I remain unconvinced.” Felix comments.
This time, she doesn’t respond. Leaning forward, her eyes slip shut again, and Claude moves her to lean against him - it’d be more comfortable than falling on her face. The group thinks she’s finally asleep, but she sits up again.
“Alright, that’s enough, Marinette,” Allegra is firm, but her voice is gentle, “You need to rest.”
Marinette doesn’t seem to quite register this, but goes to rest on Claude’s lap regardless. He combs her hair with his hands, hoping to lull her to sleep.
After a few moments, she seems to have finally returned to rest, and he turns to the two below him, “Either of you have any homework left? I’ve got mine done.”
“No, I finished it.”
“Mine has also been completed.”
“Do you think Allan and Mari got theirs done?”
“He’s probably all set, but Marinette’s kind of up in the air. Usually I would say yes, but with it being winter…” Allegra trails off, giving a lopsided shrug, “We can ask when she’s not sick.”
“We should make sure that both of them get something to eat. Allan likely skipped breakfast, and the chances of Marinette eating without prior prompting are very slight.”
“True.”
“Same goes for Adrien. I wouldn’t put it past Gabriel to starve him if he doesn’t do well enough.” Allegra mutters bitterly.
“Allegra.” Felix warns.
She crosses her arms, clearly not done with it, but willing to put it aside. For now.
---
It’s another hour before Allan wakes up. He sits up, noticing that Allegra and Felix have arrived, “Oh. Hi. How long have you guys been here?”
“A while. How are you feeling?”
“...how is Marinette?” He ignores the question.
“Allan. How are you? Marinette’s fine.” Claude gestures at the girl still napping on him.
“What’s her temperature? Has she woken up? Has she eaten? What-”
“Allan.” Felix interrupts, “Marinette is fine. She woke up not too long ago. We are currently more concerned about you. How are you feeling?”
“Better, I guess. Napping helped. I don’t do well without sleep.”
“We know.” Allegra consoles, “That’s why Claude came over - they knew someone needed to check on you.” “Yeah, Al’. We’re not going to let you worry yourself into a pit.”
“Thanks.” He smiles softly, and they accept the victory.
“Also, Marinette did wake up. She had some water, her temperature was 38.2 (100.8℉), and she said she felt, ‘Tired. Cold. Ache.’ if I quote her directly.”
“Then she fell asleep on me!”
“Alright.” Allan takes a moment to consider this, “That’s not so bad.”
“Mhm!”
“Did you eat at all this morning?” Felix looks at him meaningfully.
“I might have maybe… put it off?”
“I’ll grab some food.” Allegra stands to get something from the kitchen. The Dupain-Chengs have told them multiple times that they’re welcome to eat when they’re over.
Marinette stirs slightly, eventually sitting up properly as Allegra re-enters. Allan looks to Marinette as he accepts the food from Allegra, “Thanks. How you feelin’ ‘Nette?”
She only wrinkles her nose, sticking her tongue out again. She seems to register that he wasn’t awake last time, “Hi…? You’re  ‘wake now?” Everything is spoken questioningly - she doesn't seem to be entirely sure of anything.
“I am.”
“Despite what he may tell you, Allan isn’t very good at self-care. He’s got the idea, but forgets the ‘self’ part,” Claude adds.
“Yah…’ve ‘noticed…” Marinette looks at the boy carefully.
“I’m all good now though.” He reassures her.
She only makes an ‘I’m watching you’ gesture at him, glaring suspiciously.
“Oh, you’re one to talk, missy!”
“Mom-off.” Claude whispers.
Allegra interrupts the silent dispute of stares, “Alright, both of you have made your point, but I’d like to point out that while neither of you are in perfect health-” Allan makes a noise of protest, but Allegra raises an eyebrow to silence him as she continues, “Marinette is the only one here with a temperature, so…” She trails off, her statement clear.
Marinette’s response is to stick out her tongue defiantly, Allan mimics her.
“‘M fine.” The girl insists.
“Sure.”
“I consider it unlikely that you will be able to stay awake any significant amount of time in your current state.”
---
Despite Felix’s guess, Marinette managed to stay awake for a few more hours. Not that they tried to keep her up, or even that she was really trying to stay awake, she just couldn’t sleep. They’d moved downstairs and were watching movies on the couch when Adrien arrived.
“Hey, I got done early. How are you guys?”
“Allegra, Felix and I are average, and currently keeping an eye on the two that are in denial, which is Allan - who took a nap so he’s better - and little miss I-fell-in-a-snowdrift over here - who refuses to sleep. Or she just can’t.”
“Alright. Mari, how long did you sleep?” Adrien looks to her.
“Yes.” Is all he gets as a response from her. She’s clearly exhausted, but sleepy is a different story.
“How are you? I’ve got pitchforks at the ready for your father.” Allegra asks.
“I’m fine.” He shrugs.
Marinette isn’t having any of that. She points a finger at him and says, “Eat.”
Allan checks the time, “Actually, we should probably all eat somethin’.”
“Alright! Snack time!”
“A meal would likely be a better idea.” Felix interrupts.
“Food time!”
“That works.” Everyone gets something to eat, though Marinette only takes a noticeably small amount of fruit, but no one comments. She’s also given water, which she forgot to get for herself. They finish eventually, moving back to the couch. Marinette is between Adrien and Claude. She isn’t focusing much on the screen due to her exhaustion.
She wants to sleep, but she can’t. Whether due to ladybug-habits, or just being sick she isn’t sure.
The tired girl frowns, she really wants to sleep. Everything hurts and she feels terrible. Not to mention how cold it is. It’s winter, and snowy, and it’s cold and she’s tired.
Well, maybe it isn’t so cold. Especially with all these people. Hibernating in groups is a good idea, and this is a group.
Wait, humans don’t hibernate.
Whatever. Adrien is here too, and he’s always warm, and she’s still tired.
Her eyes keep slipping closed. She’s so focused on the fact that she can’t sleep, that she doesn’t realize that she’s finally on the edge of it.
Adrien does. He sees how often her eyes are closing, and purrs softly - not enough for the others to hear - that would be hard to explain - but enough that he knows that the girl leaning on him will be able to tell.
As he expected, her eyes begin to stay closed for longer, before she eventually dozes off entirely.
He doesn’t stop purring, not wanting to risk waking her up. He’s glad she’s finally gotten back to sleep. It’s for the best. She needs rest.

Author’s Note: Babys. Love these ones.
I'm not entirely satisfied with some of the dialogue in this chapter, but I don't have time to edit it. I'm sorry if you don't like it either.
These past few chapters have been really calm. It'd be a shame if some angst got in.Hey, look who remembered it was Saturday! I can't take all the credit for that, there's been plans coming up for today and so since I know today's the day, I also know that I should be updating. Woo! Not updating at 8:00 pm this time buddies! Speaking of those plans (starting a DnD campaign if you're curious, I'm excited), I probably won't be able to respond to comments as quickly do to that. I've mentioned it before, but I have a seperate account for writing (thanks anxiety), and all the things I'd need for the campaign are on my personal account. After I update I usually stick around and write for a few hours so that I can respond quickly, but I'm not sure how long I'll be able to do that. It depends on how early I get this up I suppose. Anyways, I may be able to respond via my phone, but I promise I'll still be responding to comments, it might just be delayed. I love talking to you guys!
Uhh, I feel like there was something else I was going to add in, but my little tangent made me forget. Oh well, I can edit this once I remember.
Thanks for reading! Feel free to leave any thoughts, theories, constructive criticism, or anything really in my ask box, in replies or through reblogs. I love seeing what you think!

Origins Day 1 Part 2
Adrien could feel excitement building in his chest as he sprinted. The school was in sight, he was almost there. A familiar car u-turned, parking along the curb side in front of the school. Natalie was out the door just as the car pulled to a stop.
“Adrien,” She said, climbing out, “please reconsider. You know what you father wants.”
Adrien wanted to keep running up the stairs, what he wanted was so close but after only a few steps he turned and looked at Natalie. “This is what I want to do,” he tried to reason with her as she and his bodyguard, the Gorilla, approached him.
“Oof.” Adrien heard as the a thump was sounded, pulling his attention away from his fathers employees. He saw an older man in a Hawaiian shirt on the ground, what appeared to be his cane, having skidded out of reach. As Adrian looked he saw as a business man just walked by, not even sparing a glance at the older man who was now trying to reach out for his cane, before dropping his hand, groaning in pain.
Without a second thought Adrien rushed forward, not believing how rude some people could be. He bent down, handing the man his cane before helping him to his feet.
“Thank you young man,” the man said gratefully.
Adrien glanced back towards the school to see the Gorilla blocking his path to the stairs up to the building. He sighed in disappointment but accepted the fact that he wouldn’t be going to school today. He walked over to Natalie and the Gorilla with is head down.
“I just want to go to school.” He said. “Like Marinette and Chloe and everyone else, what’s so wrong with that?” He glanced up at Natalie before looking back at the ground. “Please don’t tell my father about all this.”
Natalie headed towards the car as the Gorilla put a hand on a disappointed Adrien’s back, leading him back towards the vehicle. He got in the back with Natalie as the Gorilla drove them back home, all the while trying to convince himself that everything was okay, that he was fine being homeschooled…again.
The bell rang signalling the end of class.
“Thos of you who have PE, Mr. D’Argencourt is expecting you at the stadium.” Mrs. Bustier said as the students all started packing up, heading towards the door. “The rest of you can head over to the library.”
“KIIIMMM!” Ivan’s voice ran out in anger. Marinette spun to look back at the large boy, seeing his fist winding back to punch an amused looking Kim.
“Ivan what is going on?” Mrs. Bustier demanded.
“It’s Kim,” Ivan explained looking up to his teacher. He trend back to Kim, winding his fist back up. “He’s so gonna get i-“
“Ivan, go to the principal’s office.” Mrs. Bustier demanded.
Ivan crunched up a piece of paper with a growl, shooting Kim a glare before throwing his bag over his shoulder and heading out the classroom door.
“I wonder what that was about?” Marinette asked softly. “It’s not like Ivan to get aggressive like that.” She turned to look back at Alya. “I just need to stop by my locker since I didn’t get a chance to before class, but then I can show you where the library is.”
“That’d be great.” Alya said collecting herself.
Marinette turned around to look at Sabrina and Chloe. She smiled softly at Chloe, who was looking quite disappointed. “I’m going to give Alya a quick tour. We’ll meet you at the library.” she said. She hesitated a moment, not sure if she should say anything but thought she could at least give her friend some hope. “You know how Gabriel is, maybe Adrien just couldn’t get away today. There’s always tomorrow.”
“Yes.” Chloe agreed. “His father is also notorious for scheduling shoots last minute.” Marinette had to hold her tongue at that, since Alya was still so close. “He could very well be working.”
“Exactly.” Marinette said. She saw that Alya was good to go. “I’ll see you in the library. Usual spot?”
“Usual spot.” Chloe confirmed.
“Great.” Marinette said shooting her friend a smile before turning back to Alya. “You good to go?”
Alya nodded and the two girls left the classroom. After a quick stop at her locker, Marinette lead Alya to the library. “I can show you around during lunch so you can get around fine without any help and I also have a full map of the school with a list of clubs and where and when they take place that I can print off for you in case you’re interest in any extra curricular activities.”
“I’d like that.” Alya said. “Not to sound rude, but you said you’re only the class deputy. Isn’t this all the job of class president?”
Marinette laughed. “I guess that is a bit confusing. My parents own the bakery across the street but they also co-own a few restaurants around the country with my aunt, so sometimes when they have to travel I have to go with them because they don’t want me alone by myself. In sixth grade when they asked who wanted to be class president, I really wanted to but it didn’t feel right with the amount I travel so Chloe ran for president and I ran as her deputy. We’re more co-presidents though. We both go to meetings, and other mandatory things and stuff like that but when it comes to dealing with the class and students I’m the lead when I hear, but when I’m gone, Chloe’s in charge, which she likes since she wanted to be president to learn basic skills in  case she decided to follow in her dads foot prints and enter politics, but she also still wants to have time as a kid and not be super stressed out, so sharing works for both of us, and oh gosh I’m rambling.”
Alya laughed. “It’s fine girl, it was informative.” Alya reassured her. “So Chloe’s dads a politician?”
Marinette looked at her funny. “Wow, you must be new to Paris. Chloe’s dad is André Bourgeois, the mayor.” she said. “Speaking of, what do you parents do? I’m not familiar with the Césaire name.”
Alya looked at her in concern. “You look like I’m about to freak out on you girl.”
Marinette’s panic face turned to one more sheepish. “Sorry. I’ve had a few people freak out on me in the past when I said I didn’t know who they parents were. Which is to be expected.”
“Why?” Alya asked.
“Collège Françoise Dupont is like one step away from being a private school.” Marinette explained. “Parents who don’t want their kids going to normal public school, but don’t want to send them off to private school, send them here. So you have kids with important parents. So like how mine have the bakery, with another location on the way, they are pastry chefs for several Michelin star restaurants, so they’re quite well known and respected. Chloe’s dad is the mayor, as well as owning quite a bit of property around Paris, most notably Le Grand Paris and her mom is Audrey Bourgeois, the director of Style Queen, the real life Miranda Priestly. Alix, the girl with pink hair, her father is Alim Kubdel a famous historian who currently works at  the Louvre. Mylène, the girl with the colourful dreadlocks, her father is Fred Haprèle who you’ll probably meet eventually since he’s an assistant educator here. He was a really well known actor several years ago but took time off to focus on Mylène when her mom died but from what I hear, he’s started acting again. And the list goes on.”
“Oh wow.” Alya said trying not to feel overwhelmed. “My dad, Otis, works at Ménagerie du Jardin des Plantes as a zookeeper and my mom, Marlena, is the new head chef at Le Grand Paris.”
Marinette smiled at her new friend. “Oh, she must be good then. Can’t wait to try her food sometime. Mayor Bourgeois is notorious for hiring only the best to work for him, especially at the hotel.”
Marinette lead Alya to the table by the historical section where Chloe and Sabrina would be waiting. She nodded to Mr. Eldred (his last name was Weaver but he didn’t like his students calling him by it), who watched over this periods study hall on her way over. Chloe was texting away, probably with Adrien to find out what happened to him, whether he was answering or not was anyone guess. Sabrina was organizing her school supplies, colour coding everything so she’d be prepared for the rest of the day. A part of Marinette was jealous, colour coded organization always look so nice, but she found for herself a more chaotic organization style was the only thing that worked.
“Hey Chlo, did you know that Alya’s mom is the new chef you dad hired?” Marinette asked her friend as she sat down at the table. “I was telling Alya that she must be good with how picky you’re father is with his staff.”
“That is true.” Chloe agreed. Before she could say anything Boom was heard as the ground shook, causing Marinette, Chloe, Sabrina and Alya to fall out of their chairs as a few students screamed.
Marinette took a moment to look over her arm from the ground, making sure nothing had been damaged when she fell since most of her weight had landed on her arm prosthetic, which meant her leg was probably fine, though she’d have to check somewhere she could take her pants off.
“Come on,” Alya said, dragging her up onto her feet and rushing to the exit. It was then that it sunk in that the boom very well could have been some sort of explosion or something since it hadn’t felt like an earthquake.
There was another boom as the rounded the corner to the front of the library where people where looking at the monitors that displayed a few security camera vids. A giant… rock monster?! stood at the front of the steps, a crater under his feet, the cause of at least one of the booms.
“KIIIMMM!” the monster yelled, it’s-his? voice coming clearing through the screens mics. The voice sounded a bit different, rougher, robably from the mics quality, but the tone had been the same Ivan had used at the end of class when he got angry with Kim.
“Wh-what’s going on?” Marinette asked, not really expecting anyone to be able to answer her. Panic was starting to form in the pit of her stomach. “He had Ivan’s voice.”
“It’s as if he’s been transformed into a real life super villain.” Alya said from beside her sounding, and looking, excited. She pulled out of her phone. “GPS check. Batter check. I am so out of here.” Alya rushed towards the doors.
“Hey, where are you going?” Marinette called after her.
“Where there’s a super villain, there’s always a superhero close behind.” Alya called back to her. “No way I’m missing  this.” With that she shoved open the doors and ran out.
A part of Marinette wanted to run after her but another part was way to scared. She looked back at the monitor to see Ivan pick up a car people had just abandoned and throw it at the school with another yell of ‘Kim’. Marinette flinched away as the camera feed died.
She felt a hand on her back. “Come on, let’s head home like sane people.” Chloe said gently. “I’m sure Sabine and Tom are going to be worried when they hear about this. Tell them they can come to the hotel if they feel like they’re in too much danger so close to the school. Sabrina and I are going to head out in my room since her dad’s probably been called in.” She smiled at Marinette, trying to calm her friend down. “And hey, new girl’s probably right, if Paris now has a super villain then it must mean we’re going to get our own superheroes soon that will come and save the day.”
Marinette took a deep breath, trying to centre herself so she could calm down. “You’re right.”
“Of course I am Mari, and anyways, monster Ivan seems focused on finding Kim so we’re probably in no danger, we’re not the ones who pissed him off.” Chloe said.
Adrien rested his head against his hand, bored as Natalie walked back and forth across the room.
“Who was the first president of the fifth French Republic?” she asked him.
Adrien sighed. “Everyone thinks it was de Gaulle but it was actually Rene Cote before the first elections.”
“Excellent Adrien,” Natalie praised.
“Give me a moment would you Natalie?”
Adrien looked up in surprise, fixing his posture as he did so, not having noticed his father entering the room.
“Yes sir,” Natalie said before moving to the corner of the room and pulling up some files to look over so she was in the way.
Gabriel Agreste turned his cold eyes to his son. “You are not going to school.” he said firmly, an undertone of anger in his voice. “I’ve already told you.”
“But father-“ Adrien protested, not surprised that either Natalie or the Gorilla sold him out. It was his father and not him they worked for after all, he was expecting it.
Gabriel cut his son off. “Everything you need is right here where I can keep an eye on you. I will not have you outside in that dangerous world.”
“It’s not dangerous father.” Adrien protested, standing up. Chloe and Marinette were fine after all and it’s not like they were low profile people. “I’m always stuck in here by myself. Why can’t I go out and make friends just like everyone else.” He knew he had the girls but sometimes it’d be nice to have a guy friend.
“Because you are not like everyone else.” Gabriel snapped. “You are my son. Continue.” The last part was an order to Natalie.
Natalie waiting until Gabriel was out of earshot. “We can leave it there for today if you-“
Adrien didn’t let her finish, rushing from the room, angry. Why did his dad have to be such a control freak? Couldn’t he be like Marinette’s dad or Chloe’s- no couldn’t her be like Marinette’s dad?
Adrien slammed his bedroom door closed and threw himself onto his bed, hugging his pillow to his face.
Sometimes he could just scream. It’s not like there was anyone around to hear him.
Thump. Thump. Thump! Thump!
Adrien pulled his head away from the pillow as the ground seemed to shake, each shake accompanied by a thump sound. It was sort of in a rhythm, like footsteps.
Adrien got up out of his bed and headed down towards the mansions entrance, throwing open the doors and stepping out onto the front landing. Adrien couldn’t quite see what was going on but he knew something was. The ground was still shacking and he could hear a bunch of police sirens going off in the distance.
Adrien rushed back to his room and turned on the TV. If something big was going on, then someone would be reporting it.
Mayor Bourgeois appeared on the screen instantly, he hadn’t even had to change the channel, an emergency broadcast having took over the networks. The news banner read ‘Un Super-Vilain À Paris?’
“I’m asking all Parisians to stay home until this situation is under control.” Chloe’s dad said. A bunch of reporters started asking Mayor Bourgeois questions, TVi News paused the clip and reported Nadja Chamack took over.
“As incredible as it seems,” she said, “it’s been confirmed that Paris is indeed being attacked by a super villain.” The clip of the mayor change to a helicopter shot of a stone person confronting the police. “The police have been struggling to keep the situation under control.”
The screen was taken over by a ground clip of a reporter Adrien didn’t recognize talking to Lieutenant Raincomprix, a cop who was supposedly the father of another friend of Chloe and Marinettes. His right arm was in a makeshift cast/sling combo, probably injured in the confirmation that TVi had show seconds before.
“Be confident the strong arm of the law will come crashing down on-“ he started to say, lifting his injured arm up in the air and wincing. “I mean the other arm-“
Marinette sat in her computer chair, a pillow clutched to her chest, as she watched Mr. Raincomprix being interviewed on the news. Oh how she wished this was all over already. At least Ivan had decided to move head away from the school and Marinette’s house. Her parents didn’t have to worry about their bakery and house being destroyed.
“I hate first days back at school.” Marinette couldn’t help but say to herself. She’d never had a good day back to school. Though a super villain did top breaking her arm and finding out she had cancer on the first day of second grade. She hadn’t thought anything would top that.
Marinette glanced down spotting a hexagon box that hadn’t been there yesterday and thus not this morning when she left for school.
“What’s this doing here?”
Marinette picked up the strange box and opened the lid, maybe it was something her mom had gotten at an asian store for her and put it in her room while she was at school. A bright red light emitted from the box. It died down to reveal…
Earrings?
Adrien looked down at the coffee table as the news went on in the background talking about what had happened, seeing a red and back hexagon box. It was strange, it had an oriental design on it, decently not something of his fathers creation.
“What’s this doing here?” Adrien asked. It was quite confusing since nothing got in the house without Gabriel or Natalie knowing and neither of them would get him something like this.
He reached down and picked up the box, carefully opening it. A bright, toxic green light emitted from the box. It died down to reveal…
A ring?
So not how he expected that to be.

For anyone wondering, I based the general look and function of Marinettes prosthetic arm off Hero Arm by Open Bionics. In the future I may come up with a name for the company who makes Marinettes arm since I don’t think I’ll be using the Hero Arm name. This is mainly because (in cannon) there are superheroes and whenever you see something with superheroes in it technology is always more advanced. Not specifically using Hero Arm as Marinettes prosthetic leaves me open to include functions in the arm that may not be possible in real life.

Adrien Augreste: Feathers
His dream was clearly weird. He was peacefully resting on a huge pile of white feathers without his allergy reacting to them. The he realised he wasn't dremaing and he was, ideed, resting on feathers. Weirded out by that fact, Adrien got up and looked around while pinching his arm to make sure he wasn¡t dreaming. Without a warning, his twin Adrienne peeked ut of the feather pile next to him, with a huge Chesire grin from cheek to cheek.
"What's going on sis?" said the boy, utterly confused. "Well, you know that you can only withstand synthetic feathers right? So, since I know how much you like feathers, but can get to play with them much, I've pulled a few strings and today we're gonna Have lots of feathery fun!" exclaimed the girl. "How did you managed to put me on the top of this, dive in the pile and not waking me up?" said Adrien. "Oh, yesterday I told Nathalie to put something to make you sleep on your dinner and if you add the tiredness from yesterday playing on the beach after an anime marathon... Well, let's just say that you were sleeping as a log" said smiling the girl. "Yeah, you were snoring so loud I thought there was a storm in the room" complains Plagg from under a feather. "I don't know how could you possibly know. You were also sleeping heavily" says Plague.
After having a quick breakfast, the twins got dressed and Adrienne took her brother to the Dupain-Cheng bakery, where Marinette and Marin were already waiting for them. After greeting Tom and Sabine, the designer twins led the models upstairs to Marin's bedroom. Adrien looked around perplexed. While the room itself wasn't even a quarter part of his bedroom, Marin's got everything arranged to make use of every possible space and even got a stairs to the rooftop, where he had a private open space to get inspiration and do his biding. That day though, his rooftop was arranged to have an amateur photoshoot.
"Why are we here and why is his rooftop arranged to have a photoshoot?" asks wearily Adrien. "Well, don't look at me sunshine, I just did as requested" says Marin. "And that's our cue" says Alen, stepping out from his hiding place. "Well, listen here shiny boy, you are gonna have fun today" says Nina, standing up from behind a big plant pot, with a big grin on her face. Alya and Nino come from Marin's room. "And you're going to have a lot of friends to do it" says Alya. "W-Well, basically, Adrienne asked u-u-us to arrange a tihngs few- Imean! A few things and-" stutters Mari. "What she's trying to say is that we're going to dress up with a lot of feathery clothes that Mar and Mari designed, so basically we're having a photoshoot, but you're choosing what to wear and we'll also do it" says Nino. Adrien smirks, thinking about how lucky is he to have such great people as friends. "If that's the case, I believe we should be already starting, I can't wait to see what can we wear"
Adrienne first choice was a long white dress with a tail made of colorful feathers, while Adrien and Nino tried two superhero-like costumes that resembled a humming bird and a hawk, both laughing and posing like the nerds they were. Alen used a red suit with a black shirt and red trousers, that had feathers strategically placed to simulate the spotsof Lordbug's suit. Alya used ared blouse with black polka dots and a black skirt, combining with the feathery pamela hat she was wearing. Nina seemed to take the phrase 'Go big or go home' too seriously, as she put on a long dress made with blue, green and black feathers, feather earrings and a feathery had, completely looking like a feather diva. The designer duo didn't wear anything at first, as they where doing last minute changes to the outfits so they'd fit perfectly, but everyone dragged them to the respective changerooms to make sure they enjoyed the day too. Marinette choose a simple but cute outfit, wearing a jean skirt and vest and a pink T-shirt with a  black feather shape on the bottom left side of the T-shirt. Meanwhile, Marin couldn't decide what to wear and Adrien came in the closet, resting on a wall.
"I'm just saying this once, but thank you for everything you did for today" says Adrien proudly. "Ah, but monsieur Agreste, you know I work for Adrienne, I had to do it wether I liked it or not. You should be thanking her and Mari. They where the ones that insisted on doing this" says Marin in a somewhat sarcastic voice. "Still, I know this it's not something easy to do. So as a thanks, wear this" says Adrien, handing him clothes that he just selected from the closet. "I'm sure you'll look good in it" says before he leaves, but then he turns one last time. "And for the record, I'd love to compliment Mari's work, but last time I did she seemed to be uncomfortable with me doing it, just like she always looks like she wants to run away when I'm around, so I'm sorry if I can't do it face to face, but I'll make sure to tell her". "Ugh... You're denser than me. I can't be mad at someone so oblivious" says Marin to himself after Adrien leaves, putting on the clothes the blonde had just given him.
Several outfits, photos and laughs later they went to the park and had a picnic, still laughing at some of the weird combinations they pulled off. For desserts, they had a small cake decorated with chocolate feathers. Once they were full, the designers had to leave because of a job they had to do and the rest move on to a searching quest Adrienne had prepared previously. They spent the whole afternoon running from one point of Paris to another, doing fun dares to collect 10 iridescent feathers and simply having fun. When they were almost finishing, Marin and Marinette returned and joined them, making the last dare far more funnier and far easier to complete. To finish the day, everyone had dinner at the Agreste manor and surprised Adrien when they told him that everyone was spending the night there.
Obviously, Adrienne brought a lot of pillows to Adrien's bedroom (with a bit of help from Marin and Alen) and they started a pillow fight. Unsurprisingly, the pillow fight turned into a pillow war between Adrien and Marin, everyone taking sides. Alya and Nina sided with Marin and Alen and Nino with Adrien, then Mari joined Adrien to obliterate her stupid brother while Adrienne sided with Marin for the same reason, thought the two of them had a special reason for that. Feather flew over the whole room, as the pillow hit their targets. At the end, Marinette and Adrienne mercilessly obliterated everyone else and called a truce when they where the last one standing. After cleaning a bit, the girls went upstairs to Adrienne's bedroom and the boys simply held a Dance Dance Revolution competition and went to sleep after Alen beat everyone surprisingly, but not before the boys covered Adrien in feathers as a prank.

A tight situation
Ladybug is in the dark streets of Paris, without her trusty partner. She has no idea where he is, but she dosn't have time to find out. She is faced with Hawkmoth himself.
Ladybug: just make this easy and give me your miraculous
Hawkmoth: or you just make this easy and give me YOUR miraculous.
Ladybug: never
She jumped onto action, her yo-yo in hand she was mid-air, inches away from hitting Hawkmoth with her yo-yo when she was pulled backward by dark green vines. The green vines wrapped around her, she could barely move. "If you lie the vines will grow tighter" said a dark voice behind her. She looked behind her and saw a lady, or at least she thought it was a lady, she looked more plant than human.
Hawkmoth: I'd like you to meet my dear friend truth teller.
Hawkmoth: now mrs. bug. Why dont you tell me where the guardian is.
Ladybug: NEVER
The vines tightened around her, she groaned in pain.
Hawkmoth: now why don't you answer my question instead of getting squished to death. Where is the guardian.
Ladybug knew she couldnt tell Hawkmoth where master fu was, but she also knew her body couldnt take another squeeze. Than she got an idea.
Ladybug: My favorite color is pink.
She braced herself for a squeeze and was relieved that nothing happned.
Hawkmoth: why havent the vines tightened?
Truth teller: well technically she told the truth..just not the truth to your question.
Hawkmoth: UGH. STOP PLAYING GAMES LITTLE GIRL AND TELL ME WHERE THE GUARDIAN IS
ladybug: my favorite food is macaroons
She smiled at her self. and was satisfied of this solution she came up with. She could sit here telling little truths about things until Chat Noir can free her.
Ladybug: I love designing
Ladybug: my least favorite class is geometry
Ladybug was just blurting out these little truths one after another watching Hawkmoth grow angrier and angrier. Pretty soon she wasnt even thinking about what she was saying she was just saying them
Ladybug: my favorite animal is a cat
Ladybug: I'm in love wit-
She stopped her self.
Hawkmoth: MWAHAH. You must finish that sentence with the truth bug girl. Or else I dont think your ribs can handle another squeeze, and than mabye this "lover" of yours would like to join us, and mabye I wont hurt them if you tell me where the guardian is.
Ladybug was panicking, she could feel the vines slowly tightening. She had to finish the sentence quickly, but if she did than Adrien would be on danger, but if she didnt than she would be crushed by the vines. She decided that Adriens safety was more important. The vines grew tighter and tighter, she could barely breath. Than everything became blurry, she heard some yelling, than the vines went away and she fell to the floor, everything was still blurry to her. The last thing she saw was a black figure.
When she awoke, she was in alot of pain. She could feel the warm air blowing and she saw the clear sky and the stars.
Chatnoir: your awake!
He took her hand in his and was apologizing for not being their sooner, and he was asking where it hurt,
Ladybug: everywhere. I'm not exactly sure, but cant really move.
She saw a paper bag in a nearby dumpster.
Ladybug: grab that back for me
He confusingly grabbed it and handed it to her
Chat noir: what are you gonna do with that?
She didnt answer him and placed the paper bag over her head.
Ladybug: spots off
In a flash of light she de-transformed.
Ladybug: can you tell me how bad it looks? I think I may have some broken ribs
Chatnoir turned red as she lifted off her pajama shirt. Revealing her bruises and her pink polka dot bra.
Than a little red light flew out from behind marinette and flew straight into her chest. A few moments later the red thing flew out and announced that she had luckily no broken ribs, but she was severely bruised and wouldn't be able to get home on her own. Marinette put her shirt back on
Marinette: oh and I cant re-transform either, I don't have any cookies for tikki.
Chat noir had an idea "stay here. I'll be right back" he said, as he walked out of the alley.
He came back 5 mins later with a bag and handed it to Marinette.
Chatnoir: here, I'll turn around so u can keep your secret idenity a secret.
Marinette pulled the bag off her head and curiously looked into the bag. It was a ladybug costume, complete with earings, a suit, and a mask.
Marinette: seriously.
Chat noir: just put on the mask already.
Marinette put on the mask and chat noir turned around, picking her up gently as not to harm her.
She winced as he picked her up, but she knew he wasnt trying to hurt her.
Chatnoir: now, where do I drop you off at bugaboo?
Marinette: hey stop calling me that, and since I cant have you drop me off at my house. Otherwise you will know where I live, can you drop me off at marinettes house? She owes me a favor
Chatnoir: a favor? For what?
Marinette: it's a secret, so just bring me to marinettes room and a good night's rest should help me feel better.
Chatnoir carefully walked down the street carrying her. Jumping atop the rooftops would be faster but it would hurt ladybug. He walked straight up to the bakery " hold on tight" he said as he extended his baton and they lifted up to marinettes balcony.
Chatnoir: you sure shes okay with this? I mean we are sneaking into her bedroom in the middle of the night. Wont it scare her?
Marinette: no. Shes not home tonight, shes spending the night at Alyas.
Chatnoir climbed through Marinettes window and laid Marinette down on the bed. He then laid next to her
Chatnoir: so how did you even get your self hurt like this tonight?
Ladybug: well the "truth teller" wrapped her vines around me and everytime I lie this vines would get tighter. Than Hawkmoth asked me where master fu was and I wasnt gonna tell him so than I started telling little truths, like my favorite color and stuff, but than I almost put sombody close to me in danger...I said " I'm in love wit-" and caught myself but I almost put him in danger, and all becuase of my carelessness.
Ladybug: speaking of carelessness I completely forgot about the akuma. I have to go and stop it.
Chatnoir: no worries after I cataclysmed the vines he was so mad that he un-akumatized her and left. Than I grabbed you and had to stop in that alley becuase I detransformed. Than right before you woke up I fed plagg some cheese and re transformed.
Ladybug: oh that you chat. I can't even thank you enough
She hugged chat and he hugged her back and he felt her wince in pain.
Chatnoir: sorry bugaboo
Ladybug: I said stop saying tha-...zzzzzzz
She drifted off to sleep mid sentence. He snuggled up to her and fell asleep next to her. "I hope Marinette wont mind I slept in her bed too"

Invent It All Again (Day 2)
In which Adrien contemplates baking a cake
I had this idea while working on Day 1 and just couldn’t resist
Also, if u happen to have any ideas/requests/etc. for days 3-5 (and 7), feel free to pass ‘em along and maybe/hopefully I’ll be able to do ‘em!

——————
Adrien tied the string of his apron tightly and planted a hand on either hip with an unsure, yet determined smirk in the corner of his lips as he studied the table he’d filled with various ingredients and tools for the last half hour.
“Alright.” He muttered to himself, eyes darting from the egg carton to the bag of flour to a stack of pans. “How hard can it be?”
“Knowing you” His half-conscious Kwami stuck his head out of the apron pocket he’d been sleeping in. “It’s probably gonna be pretty hard.”
“Hey, I’m a good enough cook.” Adrien pouted. “I can...Totally figure this out, this time.”
“You said that last year.”
“And I made...Something edible.”
Plagg lowly laughed. “You mean those doorstops were edible?”
“Well, maybe it was just the edges, but-” Adrien scrunched up his face. “I know I can do it, this time. I watched a video last night and everything!”
“Are you stuck on repeat or something?” Plagg’s chuckling didn’t stop Adrien from collecting a mixing bowl. “Cause I coulda sworn you said that last year, too.”
“Yeah, well, just you wait” Adrien pulled a few eggs out and cracked one on the edge of the table. “Because this is gonna be my best cake yet.”
“That’s a pretty low bar, kid.” Plagg smugly hummed. “Don’t you know someone who like, does this for a living anyway?”
Adrien deposited another egg and reached for the bag of sugar. “Yes, but one: she’s probably not awake at 4am.” He cracked the shell and tossed it into the trash. “And two, I have to be the one who makes it. It’s gotta be special, Plagg.”
The Kwami scoffed. “Kid, anything you do for him is gonna be special. It don’t matter if you make a mess in the kitchen or buy something from the store, it’s you he appreciates.”
Adrien felt himself lightly blush but shook the feeling off. “I know that, but...I wanna make him something nice.”
Plagg shrugged. “I’m just sayin’.”
“I…” Adrien’s mind slipped into deeper consideration, the words setting in just as he broke his final egg. “Er, well, I already kinda started, and I don’t want to waste any of this, so…”
“So make him breakfast, you’re good at that.”
“At 4am? He’s not usually up until like, 6.”
“Hey, that’s your fault.” Plagg stretched out in his pocket-turned-bed. “I know I didn’t wake us up at this awful hour.”
Adrien looked over the table again until he felt himself sigh. “Maybe I can...Put the eggs in the fridge, and…” He thought aloud, tapping a few fingers against his chin. “Yeah, that’ll work. That’s a good idea, Plagg.”
The Kwami smirked up at him. “Anytime, kiddo.” Plagg let out a prolonged, overdramatic yawn. “Anyway, I don’t get paid enough to be up this early, hope we still have a house when I wake back up.”
Adrien stepped over towards the counter and pulled a container out of the drawer to pour the cracked eggs into.
“Night, Plagg.”
———————————————–
Nino stretched out in his otherwise empty bed, the lack of warmth reminding him exactly what day it was, as if Adrien would ever let him forget.
It had become something of a tradition since they’d moved in together for Adrien to sneak off in the middle of the night to try and do something, typically try to bake a cake, for his birthday, though each time ended up being a spectacular, vanilla-icing covered mess.
But that was never a problem, not to Nino anyway, as he truly believed that it was the thought that counted. Plus, he’d usually get to clean his boyfriend up and snuggle with him in the living room afterwards, so that was a definitely bonus.
This time, however, something was off.
“Huh.” He sat up in the bed for a moment, briefly wondering if he’d just slipped into a dream.
While there was a chance that was the case, the distinct lack of anything burning or any fire alarms going off in the house eventually pulled him off the mattress and into his blue and red robe.
There were a few possibilities that ran through Nino’s mind on his way out of the bedroom and down the stairs.
One was that Adrien simply ran out and bought a cake for a change, though he didn’t know of any bakeries that would be open at 6:30 in the morning.
The second option was that Adrien had simply passed out on the couch, either before getting his hands dirty, or before he’d managed to turn the oven on.
Nino fastened the fabric belt loosely around his waist and considered that maybe, just maybe, Adrien had finally been successful and was sitting down at the table with candles burning and a smile on his flour-coated face.
None of these would prove to be the case, however, as he’d figure out as soon as he rounded the corner and caught a whiff of sizzling, perfectly cooked bacon.
“Morning!” Adrien called from the kitchen, not turning his attentions away from the pan for even a moment. “Give me just a second.”
Nino covered a yawn while the table came into view, a plate stacked with pancakes and some eggs being the centerpiece of an otherwise nicely decorated space.
“What’s, uh...Going on?” Nino mumbled and stepped up behind his boyfriend.
Adrien flicked the heat off and turned to tonged the strips of bacon onto the plate. “It’s your birthday is what’s going on.” He turned back and pecked on Nino’s cheek.
“Yeah, but…” It seemed to be taking a while to process.
“I know, it’s not a cake.” Adrien playfully smiled. “But, hey, it’s something, right?” He pulled a chair out and offered it to Nino.
“It’s...Not burnt, that’s for sure.” Nino lowly chuckled and took his seat while Adrien washed his hands.
“Yeah, Plagg kinda...Talked me out of it, this year.” Adrien rubbed the back of his neck one his hands were dry. “So I figured I’d try something else.”
Nino looked over the admittedly ridiculous stack of pancakes for a moment, then over the much more reasonable amount of scrambled eggs and bacon.
“I...don’t know what to say.” There was a twinge of red along his upper lip that was soon covered by a subtle grin that formed once he looked back to Adrien.
"You don't have to say anything at all." Adrien stepped over and gently kissed on Nino's lips.
Nino felt his heart flutter in his chest to the same rhythm it always did when Adrien kissed him, and his eyes were slow to reopen as if to savior the sweet sensation that had been so affectionately laced onto his mouth.
"Er, well, if I could say something" He eventually managed to chuckled himself back to reality. "Honestly...There are a lot of pancakes here for just one person."
"And who said you were eating alone?" Adrien giggled while he retrieved a plate of his own before sitting down at the table. “I can’t let the birthday boy sit by himself, now can I?”
Nino lightly rolled his eyes and slid his plate over for Adrien to take as much as he wanted, sharing a smile with him before digging in for a few moments.
He might not have been the best baker, but if there was something Adrien was good at cooking, it was pancakes. Part of Nino wondered why he ever bothered with making a cake, that's how good they were.
Regardless, for as appreciative as he was of Adrien's...attempts, this breakfast was leagues and bounds ahead of any of them. Though, as he sat his fork down, Nino felt as if something was missing.
"Y'know" He muttered after finishing his latest bite, a noticeable grin curling in the corner of his lips as he looked over at his boyfriend. "I guess I am...Kinda disappointed.
“Hm? How so?” Adrien leaned in with his own, unflinching smirk.
Nino warmly chuckled. “I don’t get to clean the frosting off of you this year.”
"Oh?" Adrien’s eyes narrowed, an idea quickly forming in his mind that set him onto his feet.
"I didn't mean you had to-" Nino stifled a giggle, watching Adrien go to the fridge, pull out a piping bag and aim it at his face, unable to finish his thought before Adrien squeezed the frosting at himself.
“There.” Adrien's hopped back into his seat with a glob of blue colored, butterscotch flavored glaze on his nose and his glowing smile still on his face. “How’s that?”
Nino shook his head and huffed out a laugh while he collected some of the icing and sucked it off his fingertip, his face lit up with a playful, loving smirk of his own as he found himself staring into Adrien’s shimmering, light green gaze.
“Perfect.”

Time’s Up! Chapter 1
<-Prologue
Previously…
By now, the light had faded and what it uncovered would’ve shocked the heroes had they not beed expecting it.  “H-hello?  We need help, please, help—“
They looked down to see a frightened young boy with a red cap and glasses, holding a young girl glasses and crouched before two familiar looking heroes.  His eyes blew wide when he saw the two of them.  “Whoa… what’s going on?” he breathed.
Chapter 1
Nino tried his best to keep his breathing even, but talking to Ladybug and Chat Noir as Ladybug and Chat Noir laid beside him—passed out—was a bit weird.  And hard to wrap his mind around.
“You’re… Ladybug and Chat Noir,” he said, his eyes wide.
“Yup,” Chat Noir grinned, “And those two right there,” he pointed to the passed out Ladybug and Chat Noir, “Are also Ladybug and Chat Noir.”
“I… see,” Nino nodded.  “And you’re gonna help us?”
Ladybug crossed her arms, “That’s a hero’s duty, isn’t it?  Helping people?  So, that’s what we’re doing.  Not to mention, this is a bit of a special case.  Time Hog was the akuma that sent you here.  Where you came from was…” she looked at Chat Noir with a furrowed brow, “Um… 2017, right?”  Chat nodded.  “Yeah,” Ladybug continued, “So, we’re here to help defeat that akuma and get you guys back to the time where you belong.”
“This is bizarre,” Nino said, looking around.  “And what year is this?  The streets still look the same,” he peered, “Except there’s normally a coffee shop there… and a restaurant over there,” he pointed.
“Yeah, things can change in 15 years,” Chat Noir responded.

“15 years…” Nino mumbled in amazement.
Chat Noir extended his hand, “How about we get all of you guys inside, hm?”  Nino nodded silently and took his hand.  “Ladybug and I will take you to our—“ he coughed, trying to cover his slip-up, “Er… I mean, my house.”
There was a simultaneous beeping noise.  One that both Ladybug and Chat Noir were all too familiar with.  “We better hurry,” Ladybug said, bending down to grab the younger her and her younger best friend, hoisting them over her shoulders.
“…Ladybug,” Chat Noir frowned at her, “Don’t strain yourself.”
She shot him a look, “Strictly professional, Chat,” she reminded him.
Chat Noir stayed quiet, but didn’t look happy about it.  He picked up the younger Chat Noir and told Nino to climb on his back.  Within a minute, they were at their house.  They came inside and set Alya on the couch.  “We’ll set Ladybug and Chat Noir down in separate rooms,” Chat Noir told Nino as he silently sat on the couch, looking worriedly at Alya.
“I’ll put her in our room,” Ladybug said quietly as they walked down the hallway.  “You put him in Hugo’s room.  He’ll be slower to connect the dots,” she instructed.
He feigned hurt, “Come on, I’m not that daft!”
She giggled, “Don’t worry, you’re handsome.”
“I’m a physics teacher,” he reminded her, but it fell on deaf ears as she entered their bedroom door, leaving him to bring the younger version of himself into their daughter’s room.  He frowned, talking to himself, “I may have a math major… but even this is extremely complicated.”
-•-o-O-o-•-
Marinette’s eyes opened slowly.  She tried her best to blink away her tired, blurry vision as she sat up, but it didn’t clear.  What happened?  She was fighting an Akuma when suddenly Chat was struck down.  She rushed to get him and then…
She fell back onto the bed with a groan, letting the large fluffy comforter consume her.  Wait.  Comforter?  Bed?  She looked at her hands… they were ungloved.  Her eyes snapped wide open and she crazily looked around the room.  Where am I? she thought, her heart racing.  Was I found out?  Am I busted?  Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no—
“I can tell you’re freaking out,” a voice protruded her thoughts, dragging her out of her head.  “Trust me, I’d know, wouldn’t I?”
Marinette turned her head to see a woman sitting on a chair close to the door.  She hadn’t noticed her in her mental freak-out, which, by the way, was still happening.  “U-um, excuse me,” she smiled uneasily, “You are…?”
“And I called him slow,” the woman mumbled under her breath, rubbing her temple.  Marinette peered at the woman.  She was probably in her late twenties, early thirties.  Her hair was cut short into a pixie cut, and her eyes were blue and very familiar.  Then something caught Marinette’s attention.  A pair of red polka dotted earrings on the woman’s ears.  The same exact earrings she had.  Her miraculous!
Her hands shot up to her ears, panicked, but her earrings were there…
“Relax,” the woman smiled fondly, “It’s not what you think.  I didn’t take your miraculous.  These are mine,” she gestured to her ears, “And those are yours,” she pointed at Marinette.
“H…how?” Marinette frowned in confusion, “And you didn’t mention who you are.”
“Let me answer both those questions at once,” the woman crossed her arms, taking a deep breath before shattering Marinette’s world.  “I’m you… 15 years into the future.”
“What?” Marinette’s voice screeched.  “That’s impossible!  I—it’s—it’s 2017, I’m—“ she shook her head, “This is all some whacky dream.  There’s no other way to explain it, this is all just some weird dream.  Yeah.”
“Uh, no it’s not.”
“In just a few minutes, I’ll wake up and go to school and everything will be normal.”
“Except you won’t.”
“Then I’ll help Mom and Dad with the bakery and then work on homework—“
“Wow, I didn’t realize how much I rambled,” the ‘other’ Marinette pinched the bridge of her nose.  “Listen, I’m going to have to stop you there.  Believe me, please, because this isn’t a dream.  It’s real.  And in order for you to get back to your time line, you need to calm down.”
The young teenager flicked her eyes towards the woman.  “Don’t tell me to calm down, this isn’t happening to you!”
“Well, technically it is,” the older Marinette sighed, “Please, just lie down for a few moments.”  She stood up from the chair she was sitting in and walked to the bedroom door.  Before she opened it, she transformed, looking back to her younger self.  “Oh, and Alya and Nino are in the living room, so please don’t go out unless you plan on revealing yourself.”
The younger Marinette let her head fall onto the pillows, taking in a deep breath.  This was going to be… interesting, to say the least.
Ladybug closed the door behind her as quietly as she could.  Walking down the hall to see Alya and Nino sleeping soundly while Chat was getting a drink of water.
“How’s your situation?” she asked, walking up to him.
He shrugged, “I don’t know.  He hasn’t woken up yet.”
“It’s weird,” she sighed, sitting down at the bar in their kitchen.
He leaned over the counter and faced her, “What, this?  Yeah, that’s one way to explain it.”
“No, I mean, yeah, but…” she frowned, “I feel like I should remember this all… but I can’t.  I mean, I know it happens, but I don’t know what happens, you know?”
Chat nodded, “I do.  Maybe when we defeat the Akuma tomorrow night and you use Lucky Charm, it effects us in the past.”
Ladybug glared at the countertop.  “Did you remember this, or did Plagg tell you about it?” she asked.
“Plagg told me,” Chat looked at her, confused, “Why?”
“Tikki told me,” she looked up at him.  “I don’t think we actually remember any of this in the past.”
Chat looked suddenly serious, “Well, there’s only one way to find out.”
Ladybug looked behind them to see Alya and Nino still fast asleep.  “You’re right.  Tikki, spots off.”
“Plagg, claws in,”
There was a flash of light and the two heroes were replaced by their civilian selves.  Adrien grinned at Marinette from across the counter top.  “Disappointed by the lack of leather, M’Lady?” he teased her.
She leaned over to kiss him lightly, “Not in the slightest.  I’m more into nerds.”
They could hear Plagg clear his throat, but both decided to ignore it.
Adrien laughed, “That’s a relief—“
There was a sudden squeak that came from behind them.
They both turned to see a blond young boy standing in the middle of the living room, his face white with shock.  “U-um, I’m A-adrien Ag-greste—“ and then he tumbled over.
