How about a somewhat meek tamer with a rather territorial, possessive Triceramon partner with major dino instincts that begins seeing her tamer as her mate and gets broody around them, maybe expecting courtship displays?

They were her partner, weren’t they? They’ve been partners for a long time. Was her tamer truly not interested?
No, Triceramon thought. They were partners! They were HER partner specifically! They should be showing as much and acting as much! She huffed and turned away when they mentioned going to see a friend. Fine! She didn’t wanna spend time with them anyway!
What a lie that was. The moment her tamer was back, Triceramon was immediately all over them, checking them over and clinging to them very closely. And yet still, she brooded in their presence as if they had offended her and she was waiting for them to apologize for it.
Her tamer wasn’t sure how to deal with this. Clearly she was upset but… what about? Everytime they tried to ask she huffed and turned her head away. No answer. Until eventually one day, she did answer them.
“I thought we were partners, is all.”
The tamer was clearly confused. “…I— …We are.”
“Clearly not! No reciprocation when I give little gifts, no response to my horn and crest displays, no attempts to even give your own in return! Do you not care for me? Love me?”
Her tamer was a bit dumbfounded and confused. “I— what? I’m— I’m sorry, I’m not sure what you’re talking about…? Um… I can… I can start giving gifts in return though if that’s what you want?”
The conversation or… slight disagreement of sorts continued. Triceramon had to literally spell it out for them. She was dropping very heavy hints that she wanted them to court her! To romance her! Though… she supposed it hadn’t come to mind that humans don’t show courtship in the same manner but still! She was rather upset they weren’t even picking up on the hints even the tiniest bit.
Still, with things cleared up, her tamer promised they would try to find a way to reciprocate. Flower or something, they told her. That was suitable.
Her brooding lessened as she was finally given gifts in return and even given small little kisses, but she was clearly still a bit possessive. She didn’t like when they had to leave!
Perhaps something she needed to work on. Hm. Until then, she was satisfied with the small kisses and flower gifts. They were tasty and smelled nice.

Well, it's about time I post my other Digimon partner on here. Once again, my reasons are under the cut.
Tsubumon: Just the typical baby form for this line.
Upamon: This little guy is adorable! Look at him! He's a little blobby axolotl head! How can you not love him?
Armadimon: I've mentioned numerous times on my blog that Armadimon is one of my favorite Digimon of all time. I really don't need to explain myself here.
Ankylomon: I love this guy! The ankylosaurus is one of my favorite dinosaurs, and I was very disappointed when there wasn't an ankylosaurus Pokemon. So seeing my favorite armored dinosaur in another monster franchise is like a dream come true!
Triceramon: I really don't have anything else to say, other than I think he's neat.
Spinomon: This guy is a fucking badass. I mean, he has fucking KNIVES coming out of his back! Plus, he's based on another one of my favorite dinosaurs!

#also btw. that piedmon fight is stupid as hell.#who thought it’d be a good idea to put you up against a mega when you only have access to Agumon and your misc recruited digimon.#like he was already a tough fight when I did have all my guys. how the hell am I supposed to fight a guy that ONE SHOTS triceramon???#literally only fight I had to switch to easy mode to beat. and even then I came somewhat close to losing.#had to use the strategy of relying on angewomon to deal damage and giving zudomon a vex crystal so the kiwimon would focus on him instead.#also had a weregarurumon with holy knuckle or whatever it’s called but. he got one shot before he got a hit in -_-#and this shit was after grinding them all up to be at least level 30#which I mean. to be fair is kinda low but also in my defense the only one of my the digimon I regularly use that aren’t partners#is angewomon. cause she’ll be a Holydramon as soon as I’m able to make her one <3#but like… angewomon and agumon are both high 40s. all of my partnered digimon are high 40s. is that?? low for this point in the game?? i#admittedly don’t do free battles too often….#idk I’m confused free battle encounters are 20 and bosses are 30 so like. I wasn't able to document it, but Triceramon X is the first ever 'mon to do a big poop on this device! Idk why it's so rare on these devices; on the Pendulum Zs, it seemed to happen much more frequently it seemed.

Alpha-Horn Attack- Charges towards the enemy and blasts them with many horns worth of raw energy
Ground Pound- Strikes the earth with its gauntlets, creating shockwaves
