For the ask game: I wish you would write a fic where the KHUX cast were Digimon tamers/chosen children (since I know you ALSO like both franchises, haha).
Oho, this is a fun idea
First thing that comes to mind is Ventus with a meicoomon. Powerful but small? Has a "good" evolution line and a "bad" one? Absolutely fitting. Khux ventus would have a meicoomon → meicrackmon → rasielmon partner I think; wayfinder ventus has a meicoomon → wingdramon → dynasmon partner, while Vanitas has meicoomon → meicrackmon vicious mode → raguelmon as a partner. Ventus-vanitas can have ordinemon as a bit of "wow this is a messed up situation huh", as a treat.
Skuld feels like she'd have a Lunamon (probably Lunamon → lekismon → crescemon → dianamon, traditional evolution line).
Ephemer with Coronamon (and the traditional Coronamon → firamon → flaremon → apollomon line) fits well as well I think. For a bonus, he and skuld's friendship could mean that while player fights them, player's partner digimon could have to fight against a very powerful GraceNovamon, ahaha
I'm not sure what partner I'd give Brain or Player, but I think Lauriam could do well with a Palmon. Lillymon or Rosemon would be the strongest form his partner would get to, I think; I can also imagine said partner going down the Palmon → vegimon → blossomon → lotusmon post-khux, when by marluxia's side
Tbh I feel like one could put digimon alongside khux pretty easily; keyboard wielders having digimon partners as well, and it being tied to that legacy of being a keyblade wielder or something. Digimon partners helping their tamers, not too dissimilar to a chirithy if you think about it -- friends that're for the most part Always There.
Anyways the tldr is I don't think it'd change canon too much but it would be a fun lil fic to write at some point. Digital creatures who are your friends <3

I really wanted to do a -dramon rookie when I decided to try and digimon-ify (digify?) Hachik. One with an Arresterdramon/Devidramon evo line in mind, cuz I have a fondeness for these two. He may be resembling Gumdramon a bit more than I intended it- but that fineee,
I also decided to use this opportunity to try and replicate the digimon art style. As someone who doesn't really do art style challenges often, I think I did pretty well overall✨

I've been going over my thoughts on all the aquatic Digimon. Previous posts here: all fish, all mermaids, and aquatics part 1. Since I've gone over the aquatics with a default evolution line, today I'll just go over all rookie/child, champion/adult, and armor level mons that I haven't already discussed.
I will say that my previous post's analogy on how Digimon evolution works was not at all helpful, so I'll try again. Digimon evolution is branched, where each stage has multiple possible next stages that do not necessarily need to have a thematic connection to prior stages. Stages are not mutually exclusive and separate Digimon can evolve into the same thing. Digimon can also evolve backwards and not to the same thing they started as. For example, an Agumon (little dinosaur) can evolve into Centaurumon (centaur), then evolved back down to a Patamon (winged hamster). The animes usually simplify things from the games and virtual pets by giving their Digimon characters much more linear and thematically consistent evolution lines. I may do an intro to Digimon post some day.
Starting with rookie/child levels we have an old mon that hasn't been used much: Gizamon. It's been around for a long time, but rarely gets any attention and as far as I can tell, has never gotten a spotlight, even as a monster of the week. That's too bad, it's a neat little critter. It's a marine mammal, but has the body shape and jumping ability of a frog.
Next up is Crabmon (Ganimon in Japanese). People compare Pokemon and Digimon a lot, but one comparison I haven't seen is that they both made a monster that's literally just a crab. Crabmon and Kingler are both fiddler crabs too, with one much bigger claw. I like it and there are a few crustaceans of higher level that I think could be a good pre-evo for. Crabmon also has a x-antibody variant.

The last of this level is Sangomon, a very new Digimon. I love it so much, it's a little staghorn coral monster with polyps for arms. It's so cute and such a creative way of making coral as a monster. I wish it has a full through-like of coral reef evolutions. If I had to pick any of the rookie/child Digimon form this series as a partner, it honestly might be this one.
Moving onto the champion/adult level is Ebidramon. Ebi means shrimp and dramon indicates that the Digimon is draconic, so it's a shrimp dragon. It clearly isn't fond of shrimp being used as a synonym for tiny as it will attack those who make fun of it.
Next is Gesomon, which clearly takes ofter humboldt squids as its very violent and scary. It attacks those who enter its territory, but won't bother those outside of it. It's also very intelligent and cunning, which is very appropriate for a squid. I really like Gesomon, I think it's a great choice for an evil aquatic line. Gesomon has an x-antibody variant which is incredibly ugly and not in a good way. Its ugly in an "I don't want to look at this any more" way.

The last aquation at this level is the excellent Octomon. I don't like any of the octopus Pkemon very much and Digimon deliverd for me. It's a kleptomanian who wears a pot for a head much like how a coconut octopus lives inside coconuts and other hard objects. The crown came from a sunked treasure chest and that gun squirts ink. Weirdly enough, the little gold barnacles on it are identified as another Digimon called Fujitsumon and Octomon's reference book entry is the only place Fujitsumon has ever been mentioned.
Next up is the armor level, which lies outside the normal evolution levels. It was introduces fro the anime Digimon Adventure 02 and outside of media related to that show, armor Digimon are often treated as being synonymous to the champion/adult level.
First is Archelomon, a sea turtle with knives for flippers. Digimon has had much more ridiculous designs, but for some reason this one seems over the top for me.
Next is Depthmon, who absolutely should have been in the mermaid post but I forgot about it. I really like this guy, a merman wearing a diving suit. The suit lets it dive way deeper into the ocean than most Digimon because it can endure incredibly high pressure. Armor Digimon are the result of a Digimon evolving with an object called a Digimental that represents some virtue like courage. The anime only used a few combinations and a lot of the official armor Digimon are the result of filling out the other matches. For example, in the show, Veemon/V-Mon used the Digimentals of courage and friendship to become Flamedramon and Raidramon respectively. Depthmon is one of the unseen combinations, Veemon plus the Digimental of sincerity (reliability in the dub). The unseen combinations don't get nearly as much attention as the ones that did appear in the anime, which is a shame because some of them, like Depthmon, are pretty cool.
Next is Orcamon and I absolutely love this goofy beast. An Orca life guard is such an exceptionally silly concept executed quite well. It actively rescues other Digimon that are lost at sea. Orcamon seems like a good friend. What's even better is that it was designed by a fan as part of a contest. That fan has some great ideas.
Next is Submarimon, which I probably could have justified in the fish post. Its a fish-shaped submarine of course, but that harpoon nose also makes me think of sawfish. This is one of the armor Digimon that appeared in the anime where it was a bit underutilized due to being strictly aquatic. Fortunately the writers seem to have agreed because it got to appear in some of the other anime seasons as an ally.
Finally we have Tylomon, which is a tyloaurus, a type of prehistoric marine reptile. I like marine reptiles like mosasaurs, so Tylomon is pretty cool to me. It also has an x-antibody variant which is a classic overdesigned form. It's kind of weird that some of the more obscure armor Digimon got x-antibody forms befrore the ones that showed up in the anime, but I'm all for more obscure mons getting more attention.

Wargreymon as a Skylander!
Wargreymon would be a Fire element Skylander, and he would use close quarters combat and large AOE damage to decimate his foes. Wargreymon would be a Brawler class Sensei Skylander.
Stats:
Health: 350 (Level 1) 1050 (Level 20)
Power: 65
Speed: 35
Armor: 50
Critical Hit: 30
Elemental Power: 25
Core Abilities:
Main attack - Claws: Wargreymon makes a quick slash with his claws.
Starting Special - Grey Fire: Wargreymon spits out a small fireball that explodes and does AOE damage on contact with a surface or enemy.
Upgrades:
500 - Courage!: Wargeymon's speed increases slightly for a few seconds after taking damage.
700 - Great Tornado: Wargreymon unlocks his second Special, the Great Tornado. Wargreymon charges forwards while surrounded by an AOE tornado that deals small damage to any enemy not hit by Wargreymon's body.
900 - Dramon Tackle: Holding the Attack button while having a speed boost from Courage! allows Wargreymon to perform the Dramon Tackle, a quick forward slam attack.
1200 - Terra Force: Holding the Special 1 button instead of pressing it will turn the Grey Fire into a Terra Force. Release the button to fire a large ball of AOE energy that does high damage.
Upgrade Paths:
Digital Champion: Wargreymon's Claw attacks become upgraded and made stronger than ever!
1700 - Mega Claw: Wargreymon's Claws become polished and sturdy, dealing increased damage with Claw attacks and the front of Great Tornado
2200 - Dramon Flight: After performing a Great Tornado, press the jump button to soar through the air before crashing down to create an AOE shockwave.
3000 - Dramon Killer: Wargreymon's claws become completely indestructible! They deal even more damage, and any projectile that Wargreymon cuts with his claws becomes negated.
Terra Forceful: Upgrade Wargreymon's Terra powers to incinerate foes in record time!
1700 - Ultra Charged!: Wargreymon can charge Terra Force for an additional length to increase its damage potential.
2200 - Nova Grey Fire: Grey Fire deals more damage and will knock back medium or small enemies hit by it.
3000 - Final Terra Force: (Cannot be purchased before Ultra Charged!) A fully charged Terra Force will create a damaging shockwave that launches back all small or medium enemies hit by it.
Soul Gem:
4000 - Brave Shield: the shield on Wargreymon's back becomes usable, lowering all damage Wargreymon receives from behind by 50%
Sky-Chi Power:
Terra Tornado: Wargreymon creates a massive tornado that sucks in all enemies within range. The enemies take massive multi-hit damage while inside the tornado. After several seconds, Wargreymon will create a Terra Force and throw it into the tornado, dealing the final blow of damage and launching any surviving enemies away.
Other Fun Stuff I Thought of:
When first put on the portal, Wargreymon will give the player his 'Dramon Killer Gauntlets'. They would be a Legendary Brawler Weapon that gives 50 Attack and 10 Defense.

Varul the Fallen Knight
*Background and Facts*
Varul is a Fallen Warrior Digimon and a carrier of the X Antibody. In "Witchelny", they were praised as the "Legendary Hero", as she suddenly appeared and drove out the foreign invaders in ancient times, and although it's not certain, they are said that they transcends time and is still in existence. She battles using armor made by Sorcery, they hold the alias of "Whirlwind General" due to her governing the "Vortex Warriors", and they possesses the mightiest magical lance, "Dynas", which conceals the power of the wyvern.
Although there are almost none who have seen her form in the "Digital World", they are called the "Warrior of Fantasy" there, as vaguely gaudy ornamentation is applied to the armor over her whole body, and a coat of arms is affixed to their solemn form.
Their a Dark Warrior Digimon. She another form of Dukemon which has awoken to their instincts as a Virus-species. Her heart and thoughts are completely tainted by the Dark Side, and she nothing more than the "Digital Hazard" that brings calamity to the Digital World *the biased opinions of "Good Digimon"* According to one theory, Megidramon and ChaosDukemon are the same being, and it is said that whether that wave of terror is projected as a dark knight or as a dark dragon depends on the observer. They are clad in black, demonic armor refined from high purity Chrome Digizoid just like Dukemon, and her right hand can become the demonic lance "Balmung" while its left hand can become the demonic shield "Gorgon". She is definitely a being set in opposition to Dukemon.
On another note, they enjoy causing issues for the Order of the Royal Knights, the Royal Knights themselves, the Warriors Ten, The Olympus Twelve, the Deep Savers, the Jungle Troopers, and the Dramon Republic. Has thought about making her own group called the Eleven Harbingers. Has a crush on Dynasmon and Dukemon of the Royal Knights. They also absolutely despise the Royal Knights for killing her Zero Arms: Nyx. She has Chaos Mode due to her absorbing what was left of Nyx's data. They can switch to ChaosMedievalDukemon and Megidramon.
Personality: Varul is a heavily sarcastic and animated character, regardless of their mission. Like most Fallen Knight Digimon, they're a battle maniac who find joy in destruction and chaos. They are able to manipulate the Digital Hazard to a catastrophic degree. They hate the RK for killing their Zero Arms. They came originally from the parallel Digital World known as Witchelny. They are able to use Sorcery quite well. They are a non-binary character who goes by they/them and she/her
**Attacks**
*Rage of Wyvern*: Fires an energy blast in the shape of a wyvern at the enemy from the crystal tip of "Dynas".
*Final Crest*: Fires a sharp, knife-like gust of wind to attack the enemy.
*Dynas*: Attacks the enemy by swinging "Dynas", the strongest magical lance that contains the power of the wyvern.
*Demons Disaster (Demon's Disaster)*: Strikes with a powerful barrage of attacks from the Balmung.
*Chaos Crusher (Judecca Prison)*: Fires a dark wave from the Gorgon which corrodes everything.
*Spiral Wailer*: Attacks with its lance Balmung as lightning spirals about the blade.
*Gallant Charge (Duke Charge)*: Charges its enemy with its glowing Balmung.
*Falling Lance*: Drops down from the sky, stabbing with Balmung.
*Shield Attack (Shield Destructor)*: Charges up and blasts the enemy with energy from Gorgon.
*Walking Dead*: Casts a huge sphere of energy around itself using Gorgon.
*Chaos Shot*: Unleashes evil energy accumulated in the spear.
*Cruel Balmung*: Uses the Balmung to inflict a strong blow.
*Invincible Sword*: Cuts the opponent to pieces with the Blutgang.
*Final Justice(Quo Vadis)*: Disintegrates the opponent into electrons with the Gungnir, then consigns them to oblivion within another dimension whither thou canst not follow.
*Dragon Howling (Hell Howling)*: Releases a powerful shock wave called the "howl of hell".
*Megido Flame (Megiddo Flame)*: Attacks with flames that reduce everything to ash.
*Megido Bite*: Bites its opponents with its jaws ruthlessly.

The air steamed with a cloying, dry heat she could scarce tolerate and the lady Farwynd, normally, so very calm and still like dark, cold waters, was forced to give up her thick furs and velvets for light silk and satin more suitable for such unbearable a heat. Apathetically, she dressed herself in black silks, a gown lavishly adorned with gleaming dark obsidians, laughing that haughty, dispassionate laughter when her handmaid said she should do well to dress in colours, her lord and master might take insult in her going to him in funeral shrouds. Apathetically, she deliberately made the lord Harlaws wait as she sat at her vanity and combed long, dark curls which gleamed like pearls under the glare of the sun, fashioning them into an intricate display which she adorned with a silver hairnet. Upon her slim throat, a necklace made of silver and devilline stones, glistened.
At long last and when the sun had sunk lower into the horizon, she went to meet him down at the shores of Blackwater Bay, with something strange and impatient gripping her heart, so very often frost-cold and dispassionate. Ayenna, rustling her long, black dress, came flowing down the stairs to the ocean, outrageously beautiful and dark like a seastorm, approached, took him by the chin and quite off-handedly lifted his head, turning it right and left, measuring him with a startingly bright gaze. She hummed softly, her face blank and devoid of emotion; he was very handsome, she thought; it took the breath away, how handsome he was; imposing, like thunder. Immediately, the lady Farwynd liked him. She, herself, glowed with a conscious, even demonstrative loveliness, emphasised and accentuated in every detail. Her raven-black locks cascading down her shoulders under her hairnet (it had once been, her mother's ) shone, reflected the light like the feathers of a raven, curling and undulating with every move.
She had bright, drowning eyes. Eyes with teeth. Gleaming dark obsidian. The days to come were in those eyes, deep as fathomless lakes, the days gone by. And beneath that fierceness, that icy veil, something ancient and tender as rain. She brought to mind something otherworldly, opaque; underwater fire or sunken obsidians.
❝ I had somehow fancied that you would be taller. ❞ the lady Farwynd drawled very slowly, a lilt in her voice. Her hands, gloved in black satin, slipped from his jaw to his shoulders, unashamedly feeling at the hard muscle that rippled under the leather of his jacket; she felt along his arms, measuring him, then fixed his collar with swift, sharp, practised movements, her eyes never leaving his. Somewhere at his back, Dramon, snickered, amused by the display. Her mouth, deigned to curl into a faint smile, then, and once she had thoroughly felt at his biceps and forearms, as though about to buy a ship, or war horse, she allowed her hands to drop back at her sides, black fire burning in her gaze. ❝ you have not changed much, my lord. Still, so very striking, much like your lord Father... I am sorry to have kept you waiting!❞ she said then, abruptly changing the course of the conversation, the glimmers of a warmer expression at long last flickering across that haughty, cold face, ❝ This heat does not agree with me well, I fear. ❞

Digimon Adventure 02 (Blind Watch) - Episode 26
I felt like this episode was a little too exposition dump-y for my liking. I had trouble focusing and had to rewind several times when I missed what they said. Yeah, the jogress digivolution was pretty hype, but it's also really ugly so...mixed feelings there. (According to my googling jogress = join + progress and is called DNA digivolution in the localization. Both names are kinda bleh if you ask me).
At least I can now say I'm over halfway done with this season! Woo-hoo :'D
Digimon introduced: Minotarumon, Okuwamon, Paildramon
Notes:
-The fansubbed version of this show just keeps getting jankier and jankier. As you may have noticed, the title screens have been missing some words. (I still appreciate the hard work of the anime community!)
-I wonder what the pitch was like for the evil lady's powers ("So she sticks her hair into the dark towers and then they transform into digimon!") Like...either we'll get a backstory or this is totally a "rule of cool" scenario.
-Very confused about how the dark towers function currently. When the dark towers turn into digimon I don't think they affect digivolution but maybe they do...? Patamon and Tailmon said something about not being able to evolve into perfect form but is that more about the lack of crests? I guess it doesn't really matter, but I'm having trouble keeping track of things.
-Speaking of evolution, now that there are more evolution options, it feels a little random which evolutions are chosen in the moment. I guess they use higher-powered evolutions for higher-powered enemies, but when they were fighting Minotarumon Veemon did an armor evolve and Hawkmon did an adult evolve. Also, they evolved and de-evolved like 50 times this episode lol. Talk about padding!
-New eye-catch and new ending!! The eye-catch is so cute and I was really excited to see Ken as part of the gang and acting silly. I straight up skipped the ED because, as usual, it was PACKED with visual spoilers. From what I saw, it looked like a cheesy 80s music video which made me giggle.
-Just simple things like Ken and Wormmon sharing a snack at home make me really happy :') his reaction to being shown kindness by Daisuke toward the end was also really heartwarming.
-So evil lady was behind Ken's "Digimon Kaiser" phase all along which is no surprise. Apparently she just chose him due to his vulnerable state which seems like a pretty common MO in anime bad guys. I felt really bad for Ken when he realized how exploited/violated he was. It's probably kinda good that he has a place to direct his anger now instead of wallowing in self hatred. (Although he still seems to be doing that). They're really making it easy for the audience to forgive him which is good. Sometimes anime redemptions happen really undeservedly and evil actions are just excused out of nowhere.
-I only just realized this, but does Ken fill the obligatory "rival" role this season? It was Takeru before (kinda) but Ken seems like a more natural fit, especially with the Jogress Digivolution.
-I was groovin to that Jogress Digivolution sequence music. So hype. The 3D animation was fun too. I think it looks slightly improved from Digimon Adventure?
-Is it just me or do these names keep getting more and more obscure? What the heck is a Paildramon? (The dub pronunciation is really weird, like "Pa-EEL-dramon!"). When the name first flashed on screen I thought they were playing on the word "Palindrome" and I thought that was really cool lol.
-So as I was spoiled in the ED, I guess we'll be getting a bunch of these fusion evolutions. It seems only natural that Ken and Daisuke would be partner up as MC and rival dudes, but the others...? Guess I'll have to wait and see where they go with this.

Ah ha! So you WOULD do Examon if given the chance, Dorbickmon!
Actually, that makes me wonder. Examon, is there a difference between dragon digimon with "Dramon" in their name and dragons without? It sounds like a pure semantics thing, but I thought I'd ask. Would Dorbickmon be as affected by a Wargreymon's Dramon Killers than a dramon digimon, for example.

Examon: Hmm, no, the difference is merely semantic. The UDC is full of dragon-type Digimon, even those without "Dramon" specifically in their name, such as Dorbickmon or myself or an ExVeemon for example. Species is more defined by the genetic make-up of data. The term "Dramon" just came to be used as short-hand for all dragon Digimon because a vast majority of them have it in their species name. Biologically, Dorbickmon would be affected by a WarGreymon's Dramon Killers the same as I or any other Dramon would be.

do you have any thoughts on some of the less-popular armor digimon, such as kangarumon, swanmon, mothmon or depthmon?
All armor digimon is beautiful and pretty.
My favorite ones are Sagittarimon, Kangarumon, Gargolyemon, GoldV-dramon, Sethmon, Shadramon, Coatlmon, Opossummon, Sheepmon, Honeybeemon, Flybeemon, Flamewizardmon, Moosemon, Pipismon, Prairiemon, Rhinomon, Toucanmon, Bitmon, Butterflymon, Manbomon, Pteranomon, Togemogumon, Owlmon, Maildramon, Thunderbirdmon, Rinkmon and Swanmon (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)

Born in the Chinese Town of the Digital World, this digimon who once was a small Chibimon grew with a burning passion with the local cuisine and the desire to open his own business. In his young days, Chef Digitamamon used to have legit arms and the dexterity of a professional chef. The young V-mon had a master, a human master. This person was one of those humans who went to the Digital World before, a teenager with good culinary skills. This human helped him, and was also lectured by the top chefs of the region. Once the human and the digimon partnered to that kid left, this young V-mon was in charge to keep those recipes be passed down to the next generations – and also to create his own dishes.
Books and more books containing the human world’s cuisine were popping in the local’s library, as the connection with both worlds started to grow tighter, and this V-mon evolved into V-dramon. The in-training chef studied all of those books in his free time, while working as assistant for the great chefs – A Nohemon and a Panjyamon.
V-dramon traveled through the Digital World and found a Digitamamon running a diner restaurant somewhere near a lake. It had an amazing staff and a wonderful menu, which made this V-dramon ask for this Digitamamon to share some of those secrets. They made a vow to never let those secrets be revealed. V-dramon then returned to his hometown and used said tricks on his culinary, making Nohemon and Panjyamon delighted. Then, they thought it was the right moment to introduce their apprentice to the biggest secret of the area – The Chinese Soup Spring. They nominated him the next guardian of that secret, and the newest chef in town was allowed to use it. Mixing all the knowledge he learned from the human, from the books and from his friend Digitamamon… V-dramon also evolved into a Digitamamon.
Since then, he has run this restaurant alongside Bakumon, a few Gekomon employees and… Sometimes Daisuke and V-mon step in to learn a thing or two to make the best ramen in the worlds.

If you still needed a name for the edgy serpent friend, how about something like Deepdramon or Depthdramon or something like that? Combine ocean terms with a classic -dramon since you said it was based on something called a dragon fish? Just a thought :>
OH YEAH These options are actually pretty solid, thanks! Honestly might even just use Depthdramon since it's got that edgy 'death' kinda sound which feels Very in line with digimon more obviously in pico/demidevimon's line. Thank you so much for the suggestions, anon!
