i love George Pemba's painting style. his painting style references impressionism and expressionism. i like the subject matter on his paintings (the portrayal of people and their lives). his paintings are not simply documentations of people and surroundings but consist of the uncertainties and contradictions that were part of life in South Africa at that time.

the themes of his artworks are also striking as they are composed of experiences of daily life, cultural traditions, human rights, politics and religious commentary.

Dear Black Clay

Writing, telling a story or whatever this feeling I have right now is relentless. The compulsion within me to write, to convey a story or whatever this current emotion is, remains unyielding. This urge has persisted for a while, and it dawned on me that I simply must write, unconfined by the boundaries of academia or intellectual discourse. I am driven to write purely for the art and the joy it brings.

I am deeply affected by the Xhosa proverb "onendlebe unetyala," or something of the sort. Its essence is that those who possess the ability to hear hold a responsibility. Hence, because I possess the capacity to think and write, it becomes my obligation to do so. Because I recognize the hidden motives behind various attempts to undermine the contributions of ordinary individuals, and their impacts on different movements, I must tell. I continually make a pledge to create and preserve, yet my reality and circumstances hinder such aspirations, albeit unconsciously. However, I've encountered numerous individuals who share fragments of my journey, as well as those who don't.

Therefore, I write for myself and hopefully for others like me. To my fellow Black Clay, this is for you!

Township

township is a farming/city building sim where you build your population to expand your town with factories, farmland, and other public amenities. There are no ads but the timers for things are so long you'll wish there were just to speed things up a bit. Building materials are hard to come by and you get locked behind the population wall or max item cap very quickly. There are occasional minigames to earn coins and things but honestly they aren't that fun or suffer from long timers. The current tile matcher is actually pretty fun and I played it for a bit but if that's what I wanted to play, I wouldn't go out of my way to play township for it. Music and sound effects are fine enough, nothing special I would stop my own music for.
