i cant go more than 3 years without some cruel and unusual fate befalling the exact same molar and we're finally putting it out of its misery as soon as this surgeon can get me in (in like a month) gruesome details in the tags bc i love to overshare

#dont keep reading if u dont like gross tooth details:#at 13 i found out that what looked like a normal cavity was actually basically the entire tooth rotting from the inside out #they only found this out when they tried to fill it and ended up having to basically gut the entire tooths flesh right then #and i wasnt numbed enough so i felt all of it 😭#at 15 i finally got that full root canal but one of the screws fell into my mouth during the procedure and i almost choked #at 18 i found out that the root canal didnt really work and there was still nerve tissue in there and thats why it still hurt years later #and now at 20 i find out that a crack in the crown caused an infection that rotted literally the entire rest of the tooth under the crown #and we only realized when that crack ended up making the entire crown snap off and take some of the rotted tooth with it #and now im walking around with an exposed tooth bed with only semi-excavated nerves for a month until i can get an implant made #honestly im just glad its getting put out of its misery.......#angel.txt

OH well when I was like eight I had an extra tooth that was trying to grow upwards, like, into my nose, so they had to go in and surgically remove that one. smh. it fucked up all my other teeth somehow so then i got braces immediately after. i have really good mouth genetics actually.

#unfort i was EIGHT YEARS OLD #and therefore not capable of taking care of braces #so then they removed them #and then when i was like twelve i had another oral surgery #to remove that flap of skin like? under your lip #just below your nose and above your front teeth?#the place where you get a smiley piercing #yeah i dont have that they cut it out #and then immediately after THAT surgery i got braces again #and then when i was fourteen i had to get a root canal #coz ig my teeth have pits in the backs of them?#which makes it easy for bacteria to crawl up in them? or smth #anyway i had an abscess and a massive infection #was in horrible pain had a fever etc etc and we went to the dr and he said go to the dentist so we went to the dentist #and the DENTIST said i was just being DRAMATIC abt my braces and to ignore it #and then i happened to see my orthodontist like a week later and he was like #yah uh the color on that tooth is weird i wanna xray it #OH YEAH ACTUALLY THERES A HORRIBLE INFECTION. were referring you to an oral surgeron #and then i went to the oral surgeon for the consult and she said mmmm actually im like?#super dupes worried that the infection is gonna move into ur brain and kill u like. literally any minute now so uhhhhh can we do the surger #like #RIGHT NOW??? ill cancel all my other appts #so we did #but then the infection was so bad that it came back so a week later we did a second surgery #but this time they went in thru an incision in my gums to like. scrub out all the infection i guess #and it had eaten away a part of my jaw so i got a BONE GRAFT #and like sixteen stitches #but now its okay :)#i have a gum scar #anyway now my wisdom teeth are doing things lol

#luka rambles #why has my sleep schedule been shit? because tooth pain!#i got to see a dentist just before they closed and guess what! no cavities! none! so-why pain??#i got lotsa work done on them a little over a year 1/2 ago and apparently ive been really good abt keeping them in good shape!!#so again-why pain?well apparently when u have fillings too close to the root they get traumatized overtime and that can lead to infection!#& ive got the lovely combo of weak teeth and long curved strong roots. aka will likely be prone to extractions that will always be complex #so guess who gets root canals on one front tooth and the one to the left of it despite no cavities just after christmas?#and also they fucked up the perscriptions so that i thankfully have antibiotics but unfortunately no pain meds #so. guess who got like 2 hours of sleep before being woken up this morning to Pain. that took 2 hours to back calm down so i could sleep.#and then only got another two hours of sleep bc yknow it fckn chrismers and we had to wake up to get on the road!!#i have had a collective 8 hours of sleep in about 2 days and i get to go right back to work and will not have a day off till thursday #i am. Very Tired. is it any wonder i got an infection my body couldnt handle in the first place? w/ holiday stress to boot #i asked for a galaxy comforter for chrismas and i rly hope i get one bc i will be so ready to take the biggest nap

Now that my spleen is taken care of, I decided it was time to do away with my wisdom teeth.

Am I in pain?

Yes.

Am I going to do anything about it?

No.

Am I still certain if I walked out of that office without having them ripped out of my conscious mouth, I never would have gone back and lived on with infection in my mouth?

Fuck yeah I would have, I don't like dentists, and the moment they brought out the novacaine I was about to bolt. Not because of the needle, I just hate that shit.

The had to drill one of my teeth part way in half, then apply extreme pressure to break the tooth and pull it out, and 10/10, it was still better than having that first fucking drain.

#Tooth Extraction #Dentist #TW #I am doing pretty well #but also #i am so glad i saved a few hydrocodone from my surgery.#i have to go back and likely get a root canal and who knows how much more done.#They really did say #“You have 45 minutes and then we have to move on. Lets get those teeth out.”#and then fucking did.#i did enjoy hearing them scrape out the infection #i couldnt feel it #but it sounded like metal on bone #and i never knew that was soothing to me.

usually dentist stuff doesn’t bother me conceptually i just zone out completely during the appointments but. this last one. a: hurt way more than usual even with the crazy amnt of freezing and b: horrible horrible horrible and weird sensation at the end bc i could like. feel the sensation of the skinny long drill going into each of the four roots of my fucked up molar lmao which is just. not great. it’s not fun to think about

#there was a moment where i think he slightly misjudged the angle and i DID let out a single scream. which has happened like twice before #in all my dozens and dozens and dozens of dental adventures #THE ROOT DRILL THING IS STILL BOTHERING ME. ON A MENTAL LEVEL TODAY #and i have to go thru this AGAIN in two weeks bc my tooth was too infected lol #i think i just blocked out my last root canal experience so it’s all a fresh horror for me now

for my birthday this year i am doing basically nothing except shopping for myself. bought myself several cute little presents.

in my recent discovery of loving legos, i've been trying to find other ways to manifest this same process without needing to buy just tons of legos. so since i've been given puzzles but i don't have a surface big enough to put them together, i got a puzzle board for this purpose. also some paint by numbers.

then maniology had a big clearance sale so i got a bunch of stamping plates for a really good deal.

then i got myself some cute lil purple things from aerie and used a bunch of my rewards and my birthday discount :) (after the other week already purchasing arguably too much from aerie but i have been living in what i bought ever since so ??? maybe it all works out)

i do have vague interests in acquiring plant goods like rooting powder but i need to do a hack job on my current struggling pothos first and my dracaena. i was thinking i could use these cute pots i got for christmas for the dracaena but now i'm not sure it'll be deep enough...

i saw this incredible looking ponytail palm which has lowkey been a dream plant of mine however

it was $60 (and large, but still)

it was from the plant store that has like 30% of its plants looking in dire condition at any given time and i've basically decided to be safe i shouldn't buy plants from there

it's a succulent and i'm not convinced i could keep it alive

maybe if i find a babier one i could attempt to have another plant in terracotta... though i am concerned for my hoya in terracotta, i'm afraid my plant app is not telling me to water it enough.
