Something interesting to keep in mind about Tommy's characterization in The Return is how the crux of all adult!Tommy stories in the prime timeline - his status as the legendary, longest-running ranger of all time and how that interferes with his personal life and sense of self - shouldn't really apply to him in The Return's timeline. With all of the OGs keeping their powers their entire lives, he ironically has the shortest career of all of them, if only by a couple weeks/months. So it'll be interesting to see how Tommy is written in a story where he doesn't have the burden he carries in stories like Wedding Vows or Soul of the Dragon; he's "just" Kim's husband and Olivia's father who also happens to be the Green Ranger.

It'll also be interesting considering it's safe to assume this will mostly be written from Kim's perspective, and we already have the impression from the Re-Imagine prologue that she considers the non-Ranger memories of Tommy (the proposal, their wedding, working together as coaches) as positive ones while the Ranger memories were mostly negative. So I think we'll get more about him as a person and husband with the ranger stuff being secondary rather than him as a ranger with the family life stuff being secondary

So I’ve been watching power rangers again and wanted to share a few of my headcannons!

——

Reds definitely tend to stick together or relatively close to each other

It’s their thing (Wes kinda takes in some of the younger reds)

Pinks have a gc to chat shit and you can bet kim takes the younger pinks under her wings, kat is a mother hen for sure

Pinks are definitely more emotional along with blues even if they take a more logical approach to things

But literally younger rangers will just rant to the older rangers if they need too

Their going through a hell of a lot for teenagers

Yellow’s gc blowing up when the Taylor Earhardt tells them she’s getting hitched

Leaving the yellows to ask around the whole grid to figure out who she’s getting married too

Specifically Alyssa she’s going mad trying to find out who (best friend privileges were used)

No one knows because whoever it is has kept it really tight

So it ends up in a huge wild goose chase whenever a ranger announces their engagement

Speaking of wedding’s some of the rangers will appear randomly to join in the festivities

Some rangers have got very drunk and tried to dj or cause some sort of chaos (wes and jens wedding)

Like Tommy appears often, specially at baby showers when that happens to bless the babies along with some of the others

Blues sometimes have like a club for just nerding out or showing of their cool stuff

Reds have arm wrestling tournaments

Just rangers end up always meeting each other for birthdays or anniversary’s

Sometimes if one ranger knows a lot of rangers it can turn into huge family reunion esque parties going on

That happened for Christmas once, it was chaos really

Just rangers always stick together, their like a huge extended family

I feel like ranger teams specifically would live close or with each other

Like kat and tommy live together

I like to think trini, zack and billy live together as like a trio thing which would be cool

Trini would dote on them like an older sister for sure

Some of the younger rangers come to the older ones for love advice

The younger teaching the elder ones slang and cool stuff they learn

So the dino based rangers definitely bond over their zords

Ninja rangers compare skills all the time

Rangers just always sticking together fr

Christmas Decor and Holiday Love

Tommy x Reader

You giggled as you walked into the living room with bags hanging off every inch of your arms and a box as big as you balanced on top of them. Tommy looked at you bewildered. “What the fuckkkkk?” “I got stuff” you where grinning ear to ear and Tommy got up to grab the box from you. “I see that” he put down the box and leaned over to kiss your cheek. “What ya got lovely?” You smiled and opened one of the bags to reveal Christmas ornaments. “Christmas!!” You where to excited to form a full sentence and Tommy carefully took the bags off of your arms, that’s when he noticed that the box was a Christmas tree. He smiled and ruffled your hair.

Tommy set up the tree as you spread out a grow blanket , open the ornaments, and put the decor on the mantle. After the tree was set up the two of you started hanging the ornaments. He put his arms around your waste and swayed you gently while you hung some ornaments on the tree branches. He placed quick kisses on your cheek. “T-Tom! That tickles!” “Shush Shh Shh kiss attack” you nudged his head away and the both of you laughed a bit. After you both set up the tree he pulled you into a deep kiss and pulled back to stare into your eyes. “I love you so much, I’m so glad you’re mine for the holidays” “I’m yours everyday” “I know love, I’m yours too” He kisses your forehead and drags you to the couch to cuddle.

Rise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - The Future Pink Rangers, Kat Hillard and David "Davie" Hart

In this version of Rise' future, sometime after the original Rangers' graduation, an encounter with an alien warrior wielding the fabled Sword of Light split the Pink Power Coin in two!

Quick details on both of the Future Pink Rangers under the cut :33

Kat is mixed Indigenous Australian and the Angel Grove High Swim Team's coach, as well as a former Pan Global Games athlete and star ballerina back in Queensland, Australia - a good friend of the Harts and Taylor-Campbells, she becomes the Pink Ranger, with Australotitan power, after being approached by Olivia to join her team to help find her parents and the original Rangers following their disappearance.

Davie is Tommy and Kim's son and Olivia's little brother, he's excitable, and loves action and superheroes. He bonds with the second half of the Pink Power Coin and morphs in a moment of desperation to help his sister and her friends!

I’m not trying to point fingers here but isn’t TomKat even being canon post turbo all Soul of the dragons fault? 🤔 I mean they tried or considered bringing Kat back a few times but it never happened. Maybe they should have done something different for old man Tommy story.

I think ultimately the "blame" can be directed towards A Season to Remember showing Tommy and Kat married. (Ignore how the events in the episode itself are shaky in regards to canon as it is now, ignore how it could have easily been written off as a dream or alternate future, etc.) We have no insight on why they ultimately chose Kat for SotD - all we know is the decision was apparently put to a lot of discussion when making the book - but we know how the modern teams in charge of PR are REALLY into making sure everything in show canon - such as SotD - lines up with what was previously established, and what the show established was TomKat being married, so I would assume that was the ultimate leg-up over Tomberly. (And it probably helps that Catherine Sutherland is more available and willing to come back to the show.)

Also while it IS true that they considered bringing Kat back for DT, it's also been said that Forever Red was supposed to end with Kim arriving to pick up Tommy. So "who tf should Tommy marry" has been a question gone back and forth for years lol
