RIP Jason David Frank (September 4, 1973 - November 20, 2022)

This one hits very differently because, he was the childhood hero of so many and after I found his social media years ago, I saw how much he cared about his fans. He cared about all of his fans so much and made sure to have them entertained and feel loved and in return, we made him feel loved. To find out that he committed suicide is just painful to another level. It's literally how it felt when I found about Chester's death. Multiple sources/individuals close to him have indicated that Jason David Frank (most well known as Tommy Oliver in the Power Rangers franchise) has passed away.

This is not 100% confirmed... but it's not looking hopeful at this stage

Exactly one year ago today, we lost Jason David Frank. Of all celebrity deaths in the past few years, his hit me the hardest. JDF was not just the star of Power Rangers, but a member martial arts hall of fame, and a man I admired deeply since childhood. Even now, it’s hard to accept that he’s gone.

RIP JDF Shocking absolutely no one, Tommy was my favorite Ranger growing up. Was even able to make a full white ranger suit a few years ago which, sadly, I've had to part with, but I still have the helmet and morpher. I had originally planned to unveil this as a print at a convention that I will be at this weekend, but the printshop I ordered from said there was going to be a delay and that I won't be able to get the prints until next week. Hence why I am putting this up earlier, rather than at the end of the month like I normally would with Patreon rewards.

He had such a commanding presence on the show, my first exposure to the villain-turns-hero trope, and he was basically my first antihero crush TBH.

And his popularity would lead him to return often throughout the entire franchise.

He was always happy to reprise his role in fan productions too.

I'm beyond heartbroken that my friend, JDF, has passed. I'm honestly still in shock, not wanting to believe it myself. I was told of the horrible news yesterday and didn't want to say anything before it was made official and out of respect for the family. My heart hurts for Jenna and your family, for all your friends, all your fans. You made a massive impact and touched the lives of all of us. For those of us who are all friends and do the convention circuit, it's just not going to be the same. Not without Jason. Jason, you were an amazing and caring friend who always made time for others. You were the best with fans, right up there with Stan, in attention, and showing love for them. Thank you for making time for me. Thank you for your friendship all these years. Thank you for the hangouts and catching up, the talks, and all those little moments we all take for granted because we think there will be a next time, until there isn't. Sometimes, people have their demons that they fight; battles we are completely unaware of until it's too late. Sometimes, the ones that seem the happiest are hurting the most.
