In Togruta culture, headdresses are either an accessory—like some Twi’lek scarves/headbands—or a sign of a great victory. In The Clone Wars, Ahsoka’s gold headdress is actually made of teeth from an Akul that she killed. It’s kept as a trophy! I know bald Ahsoka was a shock to many, so here’s some lore :)

An excerpt from a story I've been writing about Ahsoka exploring togruta lore in order to connect with her heritage. And also acting as a jedi delegate speaking with a lost traditionalist togruta tribe.
when their ships landed at the edge of the village they were met with a line of armed men. Their lekku were all warm shades ranging from a deep magenta to a bright yellow. Their weapons were traditional. The repurposed tools and hunting knives and spear were held in tight but lowered grips. Though they wanted to show strength to the invaders they did not want to show aggression. Not a curled lip or an exposed fang could be found on their faces.
In the center of the delegation was an elder not as old as the ones she'd befriended from the green lek tribe, but his montrals were tall and his lekku were wide. His skin showed the wear of sun and labor.
"Will they attack?" Mundi asked after she'd taken the time to assess their welcome party.
"I don't think so," Ahsoka said. "But why don't you let me go first?"
Mundi nodded to the front of the ship and the gunship doors slid open. Ahsoka stepped off the ship first; her choice to go barefoot had raised several eyebrows but she was glad for the opportunity to ground herself. Her beaded ankle bracelets flashed for a moment as she stepped down into the tougher, reedier grass.
As she took two tentative steps forward Rex and Echo exit the gunship behind her. Their boots made loud crunching noises as they trampled the grass. Master Mundi and one of the three delegates from Cerea filled out the right side of the ship.
The men in a line before her studied the group carefully, apprehensive looks were cast to the clone troopers and, with cautious recognition, to the Cereans. But it was the sight of Ahsoka that caught all of their attention.
She was the shortest among them but she stood in the lead. Every man there shot quick glances at her murmurs growing across the line.
The Elder had eyes only for her. He separated from the line, his palms open in front of him. He and Ahsoka approach each other drawn across the no man's land like magnets.
They met in the middle palms laid flat against each other and heads turned until they lay cheek to cheek. "Welcome sister," his voice hummed richly through his chest. There was a warm sort of familial feeling that overtook her in response.
"I am honored to see you elder," she replied In the people's language. Hoping beyond hope that her pronunciation wasn't mangled.
"You bring many with you today. Those that resemble the troublemakers. And men in much armor. Do you bring conflict to us?" He asked with much patience in both the speed and tone of his words. Speaking slowly the way Ahsoka had to accommodate her.
"No. I have brought peace with me. Those that have trouble with you have called to me to speak. So that there will be no conflict. They come with great respect but also urgency."
The elder holds her hands in a loose grip between them as he pears around Ahsoka's shoulders, suspicion in his eyes. But it isn't Mundi or the Cereans he is looking at. It is Rex and Echo.
"You bring peace, but you bring soldiers in much armor with great weapons?"
Ahsoka is somehow blindsided by the accusation. It simply hadn't occurred to her that the sight of blasters or clone armor would seem aggressive to the lost tribe here.
Ahsoka scrambled for a reason that would make sense to these people without a twenty minute backstory about Mandalorians and the galactic war.
She glanced back at Rex and the excuse came to mind easily. Something that she'd pondered idly in a childish bid to have more connection with her culture in a religion that didn't foster much; and in an environment where she didn't even need a full hand to count the amount of people that looked like her.
She raised an open palm over her shoulder and quickly flashed a mandalorian hand signal she'd used a hundred times to direct her troops. With practiced efficiency Rex and Echo strode either of her flanks and stood once more at rest. Both visors trained stoically forward.
"Revered elder, this is Rex, my hunting partner. And his brother Echo. It is the way of their people to remain armed but they follow my lead. My orders. They're loyalty brings me great honor."
The elder looked shocked. He inspected Rex closely peering into the black of his visor to try to see into his heart.
"Rex, take off your helmet, lower your head to the elder." It was the first time she'd spoken in basic since exiting the ship but Rex didn't need any context to follow her order.
He removed his helmet and ducked his shoulders so the shorter man could peer into his eyes.
The elder searched him trying to weigh his gaze against the unfamiliar danger of the weapons on his hips. Trying to determine what sort of man she was bonded to.
Ahsoka knew both men were confused by the interaction. The title she'd given Rex, hunting partner, bhat sa'behm, was sacred and it had no equivalent outside of Togruta society.
A hunting partner was a life bonded friend. Usually someone you grew up with, someone you'd learned to read better than anyone else. Someone who could get lost in the grass and shadows of Shili but remain by your side. With no words between you and no wasted breath. Some said hunting with another for a long time bonded your souls in the next life. Ensured you would be reborn in the same body. Two halves made whole.
She supposed her and Rex were close enough to that. Though what they hunted were droids. And she wasn't convinced reincarnation was real. They still had an unmatched read on each other. She'd rather have him at her back than anyone.
Finally satisfied with peering into Rex's soul the elder turned back to her. "He is wise in this life. But his soul is young." he determined. "You are not. An old spirit in a young body." he said with a chuckle. "perfectly suited."

To be loved is to be changed
(And to love is to change)
Cucu is the first person in the family to really hold Winter, to smile at him when he's brought home after his mother's funeral, and they realize, looking at him, that they want to pledge themself to making sure he's never alone and always loved (everyone loves him ofc, but it's hard, when his father was only just gone and now his mother has passed from complications at his birth-they were both adored members of the family)
And so Cu does just that, splitting their time between getting their (sw equivalent) masters and spending as much time as possible with him in his most formative years
And years later, when they're finding themself growing tired more easily, their legs weaker, Winter will playfully take over, because he loves his mama to bits and pieces
The blue on their faces are a natural pigment they use to tie themselves to Tefir, just a little thing Cu and Tefir started doing after they were married (Tef using a yellow under his eyes) that Winter began doing as an adult :>

PART 1 of my project on mapping out regional variations in the people of Shili, also known as the togruta!
For even more detail, read below!
Shili is home to a variety of coastal communities, ranging from freshwater, to wetlands, to oceans, to small islands whose populations have remained more genetically isolated. Many of the traits seen in individuals of these regions were developed to help them become the best fishermen and swimmers of the planet.
Their most defining features are the larger, smooth markings across their bodies that can be broken down into thin stripes, much like some of the aquatic life they hunt. Combined with their often more horizontal montrals and shorter lekku, it is hard to mistake someone who hails from these communities.
The one shown in this example is wearing a traditional loin piece that has been worn by his people for generations and is based on the Maro and similar Polynesian styles.
Often host to people from all over their planet or other planets in nearby systems, the ocean regions have begun to develop a bit of a tourism industry. Of course, many of the communities who have lived and fished those waters for centuries are now pushing back on the change in local culture. Many of the oldest villages on Shili are found on these coasts and still hold their traditions very close to their hearts.
This design mainly based off of small physiological adaptations that different groups would develop over periods of time in certain climates and ecosystems. Many modern togruta may have a combination of traits from different regions in their appearance and this is related to the gradual globalization of the planet and its cultures.
Hope you enjoyed and keep an eye out for more variations!!

Okay headcanon that Togruta parents vocalize at their children (especially toddler aged and younger), with deep, low-frequency calls to bond with and comfort them. I think the parents would sit with the kid's head under their chin to communicate sound through bone conduction. The noises would be similar to what whales sound like.
When Togruta are young their montrals aren't developed, so the frequencies they can hear are limited. As they age they're able to hear high frequencies better and "whale calling" becomes less frequent, though kids might still go to their parents seeking it for comfort.
Also, the act isn't reserved only for parents, but it wouldn't be acceptable to do if you were outside of the kid's family circle

Trikoh Jivressya, little Trogruta foundling, with his adoptive mandalorian father, Maerd Zyhlgek!
Tumblr media
This one is a little out of context here, since I haven't posted anything yet about Trikoh, but he is one of my main SW ocs! In the current canon of his story he is like 25 or so and a full mandalorian himself. I will post all the old drawings I have of him here this week, but I wanted to post this one first since I'm posting it at the same time on my other platforms
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also a little bit of lore that I've also shared on ig with this post:
Trikoh was saved by Maerd's clan after being found trapped in a pirate ship. He was from a little Togruta colony in the outer rim that was attacked and destroyed by pirates when he was only 9 y.o. A lot of people died, others were trapped and everything stolen. Both parents died and even though he tried to hide he ended up being caught with the objective of being sold later.
He stayed a big amount of time in that ship, until one day a group of Mandalorians attacked the ship to get back things the pirates stole from them. This is when one of the warriors of the group found him, and called for another person: Maerd, leader of the House and clan Zyhlgek. He approached first, taking off his helmet and trying to be as friendly as possible, to tell the kid that everything was now ok. It was a difficult start, but Trikoh had no more option than to follow. They took him to their own ship to take care of him, to see if he was hurt and give him a good meal.
He was now a foundling, and they had a new objective: take care of him until they find another Togruta colony. However, with the time Trikoh spent travelling with this group he fell in love with the mandalorian culture and lifestyle, and with the idea of traveling freely through space. His relationship with all the group grew close, but especially with Maerd, and after a year he ended up deciding to stay with them, getting adopted officially by Maerd.
This little drawing would be a year later, doing some cool poses together and probably taking a pic of it. I want some day to make this as a comic, but meanwhile I wanted to tell it here <3

What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?
For your smuggle
Ooooooh! (from This Ask Game)
#29 - So! Kessin's original dream as a little' un was to try and work in the Galactic Senate as a diplomatic assistant, or outright to try and become a politician from Coruscant. They were very, very passionate as a kid growing up in Coruscant's lower levels, and they had quite a lot of ideas about how to improve the lives of poorer citizens.
However, they ALSO wanted to see the stars and go traveling - hence why the whole "diplomatic assistant" thing came about, because they wanted to travel off-world and work with others.
Then their parents died from a spice overdose, and they suddenly got a taste of the real world WAY too fast, and that dream...pretty much died. They were eleven years old at the time - their twin younger siblings were both much younger, both barely toddlers. Eventually the rent money ran out and they were kicked out onto the streets, and Kessin had to figure out how to try and take care of two toddlers and themselves.
And since they were on Coruscant, they went to the Jedi Temple and asked if it was possible for the Jedi - who were then very caught-up in the war against the Sith - to help them find something an eleven-year old with some semidecent blaster skills could do to help.
A kind Jedi Master named Bela Kiwiiks was the one to find them crying outside the Temple- and also the one to realize that both toddlers were Force-sensitive. Kessin was therefore temporarily taken in, their siblings' situation explained, and Kessin happily gave both of their sisters to the Jedi in exchange for their help finding a job that an eleven-year old could handle. The Meyka twins became Jedi younglings, Kessin started working to help manage inventories and shipments, and decided that they wanted to captain their own ship as a freighter-captain, and started saving up for their very own starship - and achieve that dream just about seven or eight years later.

I have a week full of work. Here just a little lore of one of my previous fics.
This little flower is known as “creeping buttercup” in English. I’ve always knew it in its French version “Bouton d’Or” (golden button).
In “Don't anger a Togruta”, it's the flower I imagined represented Obi-Wan 🥰 it’s a flower that sprouts in Spring in Europe, in the grass. And its color is really golden.
