Deer's Xenofiction List - The Good, the Bad, and the Furry
Compilation of my xenofiction books I've read, my opinions on them, and ones that I've yet to get to. Will be updated as I go along, if I remember. Books I have not read have an asterisk (*) in front of them. Not a complete list, I will update as I gather more titles.
Adaptations will be listed along with the source material and not as a separate entry.
While I am accepting additions to the list, please make sure your suggestion isn't already listed.
Last Updated: 27-05-2024
-New 'miscellaneous' section. -New addition to the books section. -New addition to the film section, removed Dreamworks and Disney films. -New addition to the television section.
-Categories and sub-categories being considered: short films, animal transformation (human to animal).
-Content Warning: Mentions of sexual assault, animal abuse, animal death, and violence. Only a handful of entries have content warnings because they were given to me prior. Please look into the works beforehand to see if you feel comfortable engaging with them, this list is not a content warning guide.
Books
Warriors by Erin Hunter - A long-running series following the drama of four groups of feral cat groups in a forest.
Rating: sucks just read the first arc and nothing else. unless you have childhood nostalgia for this series you probably won't like anything that comes after.
Seekers by Erin Hunter - another animal series from the erin hunter team. It follows a group of bears searching for a safe place to live.
Rating: It's fine. I only read the first arc. While it has a much drearier tone than Warriors at times as it deals with growing environmental impact of global warming and human interference. If you like Erin Hunter's writing style, you might like this one.
*Survivors by Erin Hunter - Look we just gotta get these out of the way, these guys have a monopoly on kid's animal books. Survivors follows a dog named Lucky (yes. really) trying to survive in an area abandoned by humans.
Rating: I read the first book and nothing else. I'm sure it's...fine, suitable for a dog-obsessed young reader but as it is, no one's really rushed to recommend it to me. I'm sure it has fans somewhere, but I can't really speak for them.
*Bravelands by Erin Hunter - uuuhhh animals? in Africa? Surviving? I guess? Sorry my bias against Hunter is showing, but at some point you start to wonder what's going on here, you can feel them trying to recreate the success of Warriors.
Rating: idk what to tell you, never read it and probably never will. If you're a person who likes lion stories, you might enjoy this, maybe? Been told the hyena rep is appalling, another sad day for hyena lovers everywhere.
*Bamboo Kingdom by (you guessed it) Erin Hunter - It follows three pandas (apparently) each in different panda kingdoms.
Rating: I couldn't tell you shit about this one to be honest. You want more bears? Here's bears!
The Bees by Laline Paull - A novel following the life of Flora, a sanitation bee in her hive who rises through the ranks of her devout society.
Rating: Unfocused at times and a rushed ending, but a gripping story nonetheless. Would recommend!
Pod by Laline Paull - Follows the life of Eira, a spinner dolphin from an "exotic tribe" who is forcibly taken into another group of dolphin's to become a member of their leaders harem.
Rating: This book relies on the mythos of "dolphin rape" with numerous, non-graphic sexual assault scenes. While interesting concepts are introduced and, at times, the plot becomes compelling; it otherwise flounders its premise with messy execution and poorly thought out ideas. Also there's an American spy dolphin named Google, make of that what you will.
*The Wildlings and its sequel The Hundred Names of Darkness by Nilanjana Roy - A book about a small band of cats lives in the labyrinthine alleys and ruins of Nizamuddin, an old neighbourhood in Delhi.
Rating: Recommended multiple times to me by different people, no warnings given.
Varjak Paw (and sequels) by S. F. Said and illustrated by Dave Mckean - A short book about Varjak, a Mesopotamian Blue Cat, and his journey to learn an ancient art from his family’s past.
Rating: Varjak Paw is unique with striking imagery and interesting ideas. However, the writing in itself is far from anything special. The book it at its best when accompanied by Mckean’s striking visuals.
*The Underneath by Kathi Appelt - An abused dog hides under the porch of a home to escape from its owner. Based on a reply I've been given, do not ask me to expand anymore on the plot of this book, I have no goddamn clue.
Rating: Described as a formative book for reading xenofiction, it’s been recommended highly! Contains heavy topics such as animal abuse, be warned.
*Fire Bringer by David Clement-Davies - A novel following a red deer named Rannoch and a prophecy that looms over him.
Rating: It seems to have a decent fanbase and it's been recommended to me a handful of times.
*Bambi, a Life in the Woods by Felix Salten - A coming-of-age novel following a roe deer named Bambi. Best known from the 1942 Disney film.
Rating: If you're a deerhead, check it out I guess!
*Raptor Red by Robert T. Bakker - Often (favorably) compared to a textbook, Raptor Red follows a female Utahraptor. Written by a paleontologist, it's meant to be a realistic look at dinosaur's social habits and their interactions with their world.
Rating: Yet to read but sounds cool as fuck. This book contains a heavy emphasis on realism and world-building, with little dialogue. It may be slow for some readers!
Black Beauty by Anna Sewell - Horse girls, certain English classes, and so on, Black Beauty is fairly well-known. Though for those unaware, Black Beauty follows the titular Black Beauty's life in Victorian days.
Rating: It's a classic! Pulls at your heart strings! Just typing this out makes me want to reread it.
Watership Down by Richard Adams - Similar to Black Beauty, I can't imagine anyone reading this list doesn't know about the tale of a group of rabbit's trying to survive a harsh world.
Rating: It's well-written with a lively world, but its treatment of its female cast reveals a deep gendered bias in the writing.
*Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert. C. O'Brien - Mostly known from the (excellent) Don Bluth adaptation, the book follows Mrs. Frisby and he encounter with a group of highly intelligent rats.
Rating: Yet to read.
*Redwall by Brian Jacques - A 22 book series following a group of anthrophormic animals who live in Redwall Abbey and their call to action to defend themselves from "vermin".
Rating: Yet to read
Guardians of Ga'Hoole by Kathryn Lasky - A 31 book series following a group of owls and their attempts to thwart evil. The first arc follows Soren and his attempts to find the owls of Ga'Hoole and beat the 'Pure Ones' while the later books act as an epilogue and prequel.
Rating: First half read and loved! Highly recommend! Handling of Kludd is...meh.
Note: It has an animated film adaptation! While not entirely faithful, it still does a great job keeping to the themes of the books, trimming the fat, and telling a complete story. It also has two video games, one on DS and one on ah other consoles? Both are fun, I like the Wii version.
*(sorta?) Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland - Most people reading this will know this one! It takes place in a world of dragons with seven tribes. The first arc follows the exploits of prophecized dragonets and their attempts to end a war.
Rating: I've yet to finish it. The writing is skewed for a younger audience but is charming nonetheless.
Note: It has a graphic novel adaptation illustrated by Mike Holmes.
*Duncton Wood (First book of the Duncton Chronicles) by William Horwood - A novel the three groups of moles in Duncton Woods and the tyranny of a powerful mole named Mandrake.
Rating: Not yet read, heard good things! lots of mole sex apparently.
The Plague Dogs by Richard Adams - After escaping an animal research facility, Snitter and Rowf escape out into the wild where they must survive a hostile world.
Rating: ough. my heart. would recommend.
Note: Well-known for its animated adaptation, would recommend it as well.
*Silverwing by Kenneth Oppel - The first in the Silverwing book series, Silverwing follows a bat named Shade who loses his colony during a migration to the south.
Rating: Yet to read but I've heard good things!
Note: Currently has an animated television adaptation, go check it out!
*A Black Fox Running by Brian Carter - The story follows the tale of a dark-furred fox named Wulfgar and his human nemesis, Scoble the trapper, over the course of time.
Rating: Yet to read.
*The Books of the Named/Ratha’s Creature (First book of the Ratha’s Creature series) by Clare’s Bell - Ratha’s Creature is set in prehistoric times following the story of Ratha, a Dinaelurus nimravid(?) and her role as a female in her Clan.
Yet to read, often recommended in the Xenofiction scene.
*The Taken (Book one of the Foxcraft trilogy) by Inbali Inserles - Follows the story of Isla, a fox kit who loses her home and family and must survive in the world of “furless” while mastering Foxcraft.
Recommended by @girlashfur
*Hurry Home, Candy by Meindert DeJong and illustrations by Maurice Sendak - Described as "heavy", Hurry Home, Candy follows the life and struggles of a dog named Candy.
Recommended by @mosshugs
Felidae (the first book in a nine book series) by Akif Pirinçci - A crime novel following Francis the cat as he tries to uncover the truth behind a series of murders in his new neighborhood.
Rating: I haven't read the novel and nor do I want to, but I did watch the adaptation. It's a grisly one but apart from the violent murders and striking imagery in the film, you're not missing much by skipping it. I can't really recommend this one for a variety of reasons.
Important: I can't stop you from reading the book or watching the animated adaptation, I watched the animated adaptation, but please do not financially support the author in any way. Pirinçci is a far-right dipshit and does not deserve support.
The Animals of Farthing Wood by Colin Dann - With eight books under its belt, The Animals of Farthing Wood originally started as one book about a group of woodland animals trying to find a new home after losing their old one to human development. It was followed by six sequels and one prequel.
Rating: Haven't read the books but I love the animated adaptation of it! I recommend checking out both.
*Ragweed (First book of the Dimwood book series) by Avi - A book about the adventures of a mouse seeing the world.
Recommended by @meanling
*A Dog's Life: An Autobiography of a Stray by Ann M. Martin - Written by the same author of the Babysitter's Club series, A Dog's Life chronicles the life of a dog named Squirrel.
Recommended by @meanling
*Scary Stories for Young Foxes by Christian McKay Heidicker and illustrations by Junyi Wu - Scary Stories for Young Foxes is a book consisting of several stories all told by a mother to her kits.
Recommended anonymously
*The Sight (and its sequel The Fell) by David Clement-Davies - Set in the same universe as Fire Bringer, The Sight follows a pack of wolves cursed by a lone wolf, Morgra, whose powers foretell the destiny of one of the mother wolf's pups: Larka, a white wolf gifted with a mysterious power known as The Sight.
Not yet read.
*Last of the Curlews by Fred Bodsworth - A realistic depiction of the journey of the last of a critically endangered and soon to be extinct bird.
Not yet read.
Note: Has an animated adaptation!
Comics (Webcomics included)
Beasts of Burden written by Evan Dorkin and illustrated by Benjamin Dewey and Jill Thompson - The comics follow along the adventures of the ‘Beasts of Burden’ a group of animals who investigate paranormal happenings in their neighborhood.
Rating: With gorgeous art and an interesting world, I recommend! Just be warned, it is bloody and the sory doesn't hold your hand.
Note: Beasts of Burden currently has 21 comics published in Dark Horse Comics.
What Lurks Beneath by ArualMeow - A feral colony must grapple with a food shortage while simultaneously tussling with the divide between two groups of cats.
Rating - A highly compelling read. Each character plays a role in the unravelling drama of three siblings and you will walk away loving someone.
Note: Ongoing!
I Hope So by Detective Calico - A rewrite of My Pride turned into an original story, I Hope So follows the story of three lionesses navigating both the complicated politics of the lion prides but also the harsh environment they must survive in.
Rating: Slow to update but absolutely worth it! I Hope So is a charming and interesting read. It’s yet to finish but it’s far enough that you'll be able to invest yourself in the world and characters with no trouble!
Note: Ongoing!
Tofauti Sawa by TheCynicalHound - A revenge story that follows a spotted hyena named Sahara.
Rating: Tofauti Sawa is not here to endear you to its protagonists or hold your hand. It can be a tough read but a worthwhile one nonetheless. I need to catch up but I recommend it!
Note: Ongoing!
*Golden Shrike by Doeprince - A story about twin deer and their friends and their search to retrieve three fallen stars for a bored God.
Rating: Yet to read but I've heard good things!
Note: Ongoing!
*Doe of Deadwood by Songdog - It follows a deer who has a pact with a demon that takes the form of a tree. It has some heavy themes and light gore.
Recommended by @beeloaf
Note: Complete!
Jet and Harley by Doeprince - Described as a beautiful piece on grief and moving on, Jet and Harley stars a kitty cast and gorgeous artwork.
Rating: Recommended anonymously. It's still starting but it has some strong set up and charming writing going for it, I recommend keeping an eye on it!
Note: Ongoing!
Preeny Has to Repeat 6th Grade by momodriller - A love letter to adoptables and the creativity of young artists, this charming comic utilizes designs bought from adoptables on DeviantArt! It follows the story of Preeny, a young cat with a magic brush tail and what happens when her whole world turns upside down.
Rating: Beyond adorable, charming and sweet. There's a lot of love put into this webcomic and it shows! Highly recommend.
Note: Ongoing!
Africa by Arven92 - The story of a female leopard named Africa and her quest to protect her family and loved ones while her territory comes under threat.

Note: Ongoing!

Rating: Not yet read
Note: Ongoing!
*Pride of Baghdad written by Brian K. Vaughan and Niko Henrichon - A graphic novel falling the fictionalized account of the real life escape of four lions from the Baghdad Zoo after an American bombing in 2003.
Rating: Not yet read.
Content warning for graphic violence, gore, animal death, and a brief one panel depiction of sexual assault.
I Didn't Know by Songdog - A comic about a cat exiled from her Church.
Rating: Not yet read.
Note: Ongoing
Manga & Anime
*Silver Fang Gin and Ginga Densetsu Weed written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Takahashi - The original and the sequel respectively, the manga series follow Akita dogs, Gin and Weed. While Silver Fang focuses on Gin's search to fight the monstrous "Red Helmet", Weed follows the titular Weed and his search for his father.
Rating: I've not read this but upon getting recommended it, multiple people warned me about the misogyny in the series. Ye be warned. Additionally, the manga is (apparently) very gory!
Note: Both have anime adaptations. Weed's opening is a fucking banger go watch it at the very least.
Beastars (and Beast Complex by extension) written and illustrated by Paru Itagaki - In a world of anthromorphic animals, Beastars follows Legosi, a young wolf navigating his complicated feelings towards other species and learning more about his world.
Rating: Beastars is action-packed, fun, emotional, and dramatic! The first half is a compelling story of identity and how we interact with one another and the complex forces of society that drive our feelings, all wrapped up in a wonderous animal metaphor. As a coming-of-age story, it carries themes of desire, sexual desire, yearning, shame, and more. The second half is eeeeehhh not as strong, but I still recommend it nonetheless!
Note: Beastars currently has an anime adaptation by Studio Orange! It looks fantastic and has some really nice quality of life changes. Highly recommend.
Chi's Sweet Home written and illustrated by Konami Kanata - An adorable slice-of-life story following a cute kitten named Chi adapting to her new home.
Rating: It's just plain cute! If you're looking for something adorable to help you relax, I recommend this one. It's for a younger age demographic so don't go in expecting deep storylines or anything.
Note: Chi's Sweet Home has two adaptations: one with traditional 2D Japanese animation and two seasons and a 2016 3DCGI adaptation. I'd recommend the original adaptation but that's pure preference.
Nyankees written and illustrated by Atsushi Okada - A comedy manga that depicts street cats as brawling "yankees", drawing them as both cat and human to depict their brawls over food, territory, and ladies!
Rating: It's funny, I can't deny the humor in this one makes me chuckle. It's a little racy but otherwise, a fun, light-hearted read.
*A Cat's Tale written by Sae-Him Kwon and Hyeon-Jung Kim and illustrated by Kwon-Sam - A thrilling tale of murder and deception from the animals living on the Sae-Min's farm from the point of view of an elderly cat.
Rating: Yet to read, discovered on Anime-Planet's search system.
Monotone Blue written and illustrated by Nagabe - A story set in high school, it's a BL manga that follows Hachi the cat and Aoi the lizard.
Rating: Yet to read, but I adore the author's other works so I have high expectations!
*Neko to Ryuu written by Amara and illustrated by Sasaki Izumi- A cat raises a baby dragon as her own.
Rating: Yet to read but come on, that sounds adorable.
A Story of Seven Lives written and illustrated by Shirawaka Gin - A Story of Seven Lives follows Nanao, a former housecat turned street cat after a terrible tragedy.
Rating: It's a tearjerker and absolutely adorable. The artwork is lovely and all the cats' designs look fantastic. if you're interested in a simple drama about the relationship between cats and people, i would highly recommend it.
Note: There are human protagonists! If you want pure animal protagonists, maybe skip this one.
Film
i'm not gonna put every disney or dreamworks film on here i'm sure a majority of us know that disney makes a lot of already popular animal films. if possible, i'd like to spotlight some films that weren't made by big studios and/or don't get a lot of attention. Further note, some of these are adaptations of children's books. I'm cheating a little here mainly because the adaptations are more well-known and probably more appealing for readers of this list than the original books. Uh, sorry.
The Brave Little Toaster directed by Jerry Rees - The film follows the adventures of sentient kitchen appliances and the search for their owner.
Rating: Aimed for a younger audience, it's an adorable viewing for all ages.
Isle of Dogs directed by Wes Anderson - In the year 2038, canine flu breaks out in a futuristic Japan and all dogs are sent to 'trash island' where they fight to survive. One day, a young Japanese boy crashes down on trash island to find his dog.
Rating: The stop-motion animation is gorgeous, the writing is fun and charming, and the visuals are amazing, however the film has rightfully garnered criticism for its stereotypical depiction of Japanese society and 'white savior' narrative around one of its human characters.
Chirin no Suzu (English Title: Ringing Bell/Chirin's Bell) directed by Masami Hata - On a farm, Chirin witnesses the death of his mother to a wolf. Distraught and filled with rage, Chirin vows to get revenge and trains to do so.
Rating: A fantastic and visually striking film, the film's cute aesthetics hide a sombre and darker story. Would recommend!
*Vuk (English Title: The Little Fox) directed by Atilla Dargay - A Hungarian animated film that follows the life of a fox and how he must use his wits to survive.
Rating: Not yet watched.
Arashi no Yoru Ni (English Title: One Stormy Night) directed by Gisaburō Sugii - On one stormy night, a sheep and a wolf take refuge from a storm in the same abandoned home and befriend each other...unaware of what species the other is until later. They strike an unusual friendship that's tested when their respective groups begin to clash.
Rating: Cute, sweet, and well-animated, One Stormy Night is well known for the romantic undertones of its two leads. I think it's adorable and highly recommend.
Note: It received another adaptation of the same source material, a 3D animated show where they made the sheep a girl. Do with that information what you will.
Leafy, A Hen into the Wild directed by Oh Sung-yoon - A farm chicken dreams of one day living a life in the wild and raising her own clutch of eggs and, after faking her death to escape, finally gets the opportunity to do so.
Rating: A gorgeous animated film with moments that will tug at your heart strings. It's got some kiddy jokes with poop and fart jokes but they're not too distracting. Would recommend!
Note: Please find a version with the ORIGINAL ending, not the censored one. It is more thematically fitting and one heck of a gut-punch.
Underdog/A Dog's Courage directed by Lee Chun-baek and Oh Sung-yoon - After being abandoned by his owners, a dog joins up with a pack of other dogs in search of 'paradise'.
Rating: Despite some poor pacing and wonky tonal problems, I think this movie is still worth checking out! The character designs are cute and it's decent entertainment if you've got some time.
Note: There's a post that says this movie is about dogs escaping to North Korea, it's not true. They escape from North Korea to South Korea.
Padak directed by Dae-Hee Lee - A dark and sometimes brutal film about a wild fish that ends up in a restaurant fish tank that overlooks the ocean. The film stays there and the audience is given a tense, nerve-wracking narrative of life and death.
Rating: A fantastic, emotional movie that uses its limited setting to its full advantage. It's brutal and unforgiving but one hundred percent worth the watch.
Khumba directed by Anthony Silverston - A film that follows a zebra with only half his stripes and his journey to gain the rest of them in hopes of being accepted by his herd.
Rating: It's fine, a little wonky but it has a lot of heart.
Earnest and Celestine directed by Stéphane Aubier, Vincent Patar and Benjamin Renner - A gorgeous 2D French animated film based on a series of children's films about a bear who takes in an orphan mouse in an anthropomorphic society that does not approve.
Rating: you're going to get cavities at how sweet this film is. Charming, funny, and visually stunning, you would be remiss if you didn't watch this wonderful film at least once.
The Land Before Time directed by Don Bluth - After tragedy strikes, young Apatosaurus must embark on a journey to find the Great Valley.
Rating: It's a classic! A bit cutesy and meanders at times, but still worth a watch.
Note: Pretty well known for the host of direct-to-DVD sequel movies it produced, a television series, and a video game.
Television (Online Productions Included)
My Pride directed by Maddi Patton - My Pride is an independent internet production that follows the tale of a disabled lion named Nothing trying to exist in her cruel society.
Rating: My Pride is clearly a work of passion, one can’t deny the creator clearly had a vision of what she wanted from this show. However, the execution is flawed and the handling of disability has been (rightfully) criticized. While the animators and voice actors have clearly put a lot of love and effort into the project, the writing falls short of what it could be.
Note: The series ends on a cliffhanger and has been discontinued. You have been warned.
My Little Pony (Generations 1-5) developed by Hasbro - If you like ponies, here you go! While G1 did have a human character, G3 to G5 are purely horsies. Each generation has a different story and main cast to follow.
Rating: Very obviously for a younger age demographic, the generations do have their own charm! G4 is popular for a reason with a sleek style, witty writing, and a lovely cast of characters.
Azurehowl and Azurehowl Reborn created by azurehowlshilach - Bet this one brings back nostalgia lol Azurehowl is set in a world where wolves have the magic of dragons! It centers around Ruuza who may be more special than she realizes.
Rating: i gotta rewatch this one to make my thoughts clear but i remember finding it charming. Azurehowl Reborn appears to be the remake/reboot of the original series.
Note: Ongoing!
Twelve by Petpyves - An original series about May and Imp, a duo who's jobs are to jump from body to body and guide them to a better end, results vary. It's a work of love and has some really strong concepts and writing, as well as doing its best to handle more mature subejcts with respect.
Rating: It's rough around the edges but nonetheless a great show to binge! I recommend it, though it's been a while since I watched it.
Note: Complete!
No Evil by Betsy Lee - In the land of myths and fables incarnate a group of spirits live their casual lives alongside humans, until a cataclysmic force thought to be dealt with shows once again in the world. A prequel series to the webcomic Brother Swan.
Rating: Not yet watched.
Note: Complete!
Burrow's End by Dimension 20 - A Dungeons & Dragons campaign following a group of stoats.
Rating: Not yet watched.
Note: Complete!
Video Games
Okami developed by Clover Studios - You play as the wolf Amaterasu on her journey to save the world from forces of darkness.
Rating: A classic for a reason. Fun to play, great story, lovely characters. Would recommend!
Stray developed by Bluetwelve Studios - In a walled city populated by robots, you play as a cat.
Rating: ending made me bawl. Gameplay is a bit clunky, the platforming is essentially hitting buttons to automatically jump to your destination instead of you jumping yourself. Otherwise, would recommend!
*Tokyo Jungle developed Crispy's! - Set in a deserted, furistic Tokyo, you can select from a wide array of animals to play as and survive.
Rating: never played but maaan do I want to.
*Spirit of the North developed by Infuse Studio- You play as an ordinary red fox whose story becomes entwined with the guardian of the Northern Lights, a female spirit fox.
Rating: Yet to play.
Untitled Goose Game developed by House House - honk
Rating: honk
*Copoka developed by Inaccurate Interactive - You play as a pigeon trying to build a nest in a totalitarian state.
Rating: Yet to play.
*Seasons After Fall developed by Swing Swing Submarine - 2D platformer where you play as a fox in a magical land.
Rating: Yet to play.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon developed by Spike Chunsoft - A rogue-like RPG in which you take the form as a human turned Pokemon and must navigate your world. There are currently seven games to choose from, each with a unique world and story.
Rating: I love PMD, I'm putting it here because I'm biased. I love it a lot and it fits the criteria so here you go!
Cattails & *Cattails: Wildwood Story developed by Falcon Development - With the creator known for their WC fan game, Untold Tales, Cattails branched out from the bones of the fan game and became an original game of it's own! In this RPG, you play as a cat where you can hunt, fight, find love, and solve puzzles. Wildwood expands on the base mechanics, adding in farming, characters, and more!
Rating: I found the first Cattails to be cute and simple. It's not an intensive RPG, the mechanics become repetitive after a while. If you're someone who likes getting into the rhythm of a grindy rpg, you'll like this one. Not yet played Wildwood but I've heard it's great!
Rain World developed by Videocult - You play as a nomadic slugcat in a brutal world with only your wits, agility, and strength to survive. Eat, hunt, flee, and hibernate while finding out the secrets of your world.
Rating: Okay. this game is HARD. Like unfair hard. Imprecise controls, brutal difficulty, and sometimes really unfair save points - this one is tough. However, it is gorgeous and it's really fun seeing all the beautiful environments the creators came up with. Enemies are also incredibly complex, reacting to each other and you in different ways. It's an acquired taste, while it wasn't for me personally, I would recommend giving it a try at the very least.
Miscellaneous
Additions that aren't necessarily xenofiction but pertain to it in some way.
Cheek by Jowl: Animals in Children's Literature by Ursula K. Le Guin -A fantastic essay that explores the role of the animal in children's literature from its role as something to reflect human society, or how it teaches children about animals. Furthermore, it explores the ways in which xenofiction can intentionally or unintentionally reinforce human bigotry through what we deem the "natural" order of the world.
Rating: Please read if you're interested in xenofiction! A fantastic essay that kicks you off thinking critically about what xenofiction has to say. The essay has a striking section on Watership Down that I highly recommend reading.
Cardinal West (YouTube) - A YouTube channel that discusses xenofiction. Videos that I recommend to start with are:
How (Not) to Write Xenofiction: A Literary Autopsy of “One for Sorrow, Two for Joy” by Clive Woodall (CW for discussions of sexual assault)

Nearly seven years after the Myanmar military killed thousands of Muslim Rohingyas, in what the UN called "textbook ethnic cleansing", it wants their help.
From interviews with Rohingyas living in Rakhine State the BBC has learned of at least 100 of them being conscripted in recent weeks to fight for the embattled junta. All their names have been changed to protect them.
"I was frightened, but I had to go," says Mohammed, a 31-year-old Rohingya man with three young children. He lives near the capital of Rakhine, Sittwe, in the Baw Du Pha camp. At least 150,000 internally displaced Rohingyas have been forced to live in IDP camps for the past decade.
In the middle of February the camp leader came to him late at night, Mohammed said, and told him he would have to do military training. "These are army orders," he remembers him saying. "If you refuse they have threatened to harm your family."
The BBC has spoken to several Rohingyas who have confirmed that army officers have been going around the camps and ordering the younger men to report for military training.
The terrible irony for men like Mohammed is that Rohingyas in Myanmar are still denied citizenship, and subjected to a range of discriminatory restrictions - like a ban on travel outside their communities.
In 2012 tens of thousands of Rohingyas were driven out of mixed communities in Rakhine State, and forced to live in squalid camps. Five years later, in August 2017, 700,000 fled to neighbouring Bangladesh, after the army launched a brutal clearance operation against them, killing and raping thousands and burning their villages. Some 600,000 of them still remain there.
Myanmar is now facing a genocide trial at the International Court of Justice in the Hague over its treatment of the Rohingyas.
That the same army is now forcibly recruiting them is a telling sign of its desperation, after losing huge swathes of territory in Rakhine recently to an ethnic insurgent group called the Arakan Army. Dozens of Rohingyas in Rakhine have been killed by military artillery and aerial bombardments.
The military has also suffered significant losses to opposition forces in other parts of the country - on Saturday it lost control of Myawaddy, a town on the eastern border with Thailand. Most of the country's overland trade passes through this vital route.
The junta has lost large numbers of soldiers as well. They have been killed, wounded, surrendered or defected to the opposition, and finding replacements is difficult. Few want to risk their lives propping up an unpopular regime.
And the Rohingyas fear that is the reason they are being targeted again - to be cannon fodder in a war the junta seems to be losing.
Mohammed said he was driven to the base of the 270th Light Infantry Battalion in Sittwe. Rohingyas have been prohibited from living in the town since they were driven out during the 2012 communal violence.
"We were taught how to load bullets and shoot," he said. "They also showed us how to disassemble and reassemble a gun."
In a video seen by the BBC another group of Rohingya conscripts can be seen being taught how to use BA 63 rifles, an older standard weapon used by the Myanmar armed forces.
Mohammed was trained for two weeks, then sent home. But after just two days he was called back, and put on a boat with 250 other soldiers and transported five hours up-river to Rathedaung, where a fierce battle with the Arakan Army was under way for control of three hilltop military bases.
"I had no idea why I was fighting. When they told me to shoot at a Rakhine village, I would shoot."
He fought there for 11 days. They were desperately short of food, after a shell fell on their supply hut. He saw several Rohingya conscripts killed by artillery and he was injured by shrapnel in both legs, and taken back to Sittwe for treatment.
On 20 March the Arakan Army released photos from the battle, after it had taken control of the three bases, showing several corpses, at least three of them identified as Rohingyas.
"While I was in the middle of the battle I was terrified the whole time. I kept thinking about my family," Mohammed said. "I never thought I would have to go to war like that. I just wanted to go home. When I got home from the hospital I hugged my mother and cried. It felt like being born again from my mother's womb."
Another conscript was Hussain, from Ohn Taw Gyi camp, which is also near Sittwe. His brother Mahmoud says he was taken away in February and completed his military training, but he went into hiding before they could send him to the front line.
The military denies using Rohingyas to fight its battles with the Arakan Army. General Zaw Min Tun, the junta spokesman, told the BBC that there was no plan to send them to the front line. "We want to ensure their safety, so we have asked them to help with their own defence," he said.
But in interviews with the BBC, seven Rohingyas in five different IDP camps near Sittwe all said the same thing: that they know of at least 100 Rohingyas who have been recruited this year and sent off to fight.
They said teams of soldiers and local government officials came to the camps in February to announce that the younger men would be conscripted, at first telling people they would get food, wages and citizenship if they joined up. These were powerful lures.
Food in the IDP camps has become scarce and expensive as the escalating conflict with the Arakan Army has cut off the international aid supplies. And the denial of citizenship is at the heart of the Rohingyas' long struggle for acceptance in Myanmar, and one reason they suffer systematic discrimination, described by human rights groups as similar to apartheid.
However, when the soldiers returned to take the conscripted men away, they retracted the offer of citizenship. When asked by the camp residents why they, as non-citizens, should be subjected to conscription, they were told that they had a duty to defend the place where they lived. They would be militiamen, not soldiers, they were told. When they asked about the offer of citizenship, the answer was "you misunderstood".
Now, according to one camp committee member, the army is demanding new lists of potential recruits. After seeing and hearing from the first group to come back from the front line, he said, no-one else was willing to risk being conscripted.
So the camp leaders are now trying to persuade the poorest men, and those with no jobs, to go, by offering to support their families while they are away, with donations raised from other camp residents.
"This conscription campaign is unlawful and more akin to forced labour," said Matthew Smith, from the human rights group Fortify Rights.
"There's a brutal and perverse utility to what's happening. The military is conscripting the victims of the Rohingya genocide in an attempt to fend off a nationwide democratic revolution. This regime has no regard for human life. It's now layering these abuses on top of its long history of atrocities and impunity."
By using Rohingyas in its battles against the advancing Arakan Army, the Myanmar military threatens to reignite communal conflict with the ethnic Rakhine Buddhist population, much of which supports the insurgents.
It was friction between the two communities which in 2012 caused the expulsion of tens of thousands of Rohingyas from towns like Sittwe. In 2017, ethnic Rakhine men joined in the army's attacks on the Rohingyas.
Tension between the two communities has eased since then.
The Arakan Army is fighting for an autonomous state, part of a wider campaign with other ethnic armies and opposition groups to overthrow the military junta and create a new, federal system in Myanmar.
Now on the brink of victory in Rakhine State, the Arakan Army has talked about giving citizenship to all who have lived there recently, implying that it might accept the return of the Rohingya population from Bangladesh.
The mood has now changed. A spokesman for the Arakan Army, Khaing Thukha, told the BBC that they viewed Rohingyas being conscripted to fight for the junta as "the worst betrayal of those who had recently been victims of genocide, and of those fighting for liberation from dictatorship".
Pro-military media have also been giving publicity to what appear to have been Rohingya protests in Buthidaung against the Arakan Army, although local people told the BBC they suspected these were organised by the army in an attempt to divide the two groups.
The Rohingyas are now forced to fight for an army that does not recognise their right to live in Myanmar, thereby alienating the ethnic insurgents who may soon control most of Rakhine. Once targeted by both, they are now caught between the two sides.
Mohammed has been given a certificate by the army, stating that he has fought in battle on their side. He has no idea what value it has, nor whether it exempts him from further military service. It could well get him into trouble with the Arakan Army if it continues its advance towards Sittwe and his camp.
He is still recovering from his injuries, and says he is unable to sleep at night after his experience.
"I'm afraid they will call me again. This time I came back because I was lucky, but next time I am not sure what will happen."

@yonemurishiroku so I'm pretty sure there was this post you made a few months ago asking for ideas on what to write, I responded with something like "Nico helps Percy escape an abusive situation that he's to scared to tell his mom about because he doesn't want her to be disappointed in him (even though she'd never react that way irl), anyway, found a post that goes with it so I wrote it myself, here!
(prologue by @imaginejercy, tw for rape)
Percy thought Jason was better than his father.
He dared to hope that the son of Jupiter would accept the refusal and accept it, find himself another girl or boyfriend.
But...
the hands on his wrists were firm and confident, someone else's knee rested between his forcibly spread legs, electric blue eyes shone with cold-blooded confidence.
— Hush, Perce, — soft lips gently touched his neck, goosebumps ran over his skin, — I will be gentle and affectionate, you will enjoy it if you don't resist and scream.
a few hours later, Percy is left lying on the floor with pain throbbing all over his body, painted skin and dried blood on his thighs.
Jason even kissed him and covered with his toga.
clutching the purple cloth to his chest, Percy burst into tears.
truly the son of his father.
Percy never should've asked Jason to be his roommate.
It was months ago that this happened. Percy had just gotten dumped and started to date Jason, more out of desperation to be loved again than out of genuine attraction, though that was there too.
Percy quickly saw a side to Jason that he didn't like seeing. One that set alarm bells off.
He tried to get away- he tried.
And then...
So now, he had to deal with not just a breakup, but all of this trauma, both new and old.
This morning, his rapist was cooking eggs, and he was staring out the window, totally blank. He couldn't go to class today, he just couldn't. But he'd been feeling that way ever since that night, and he couldn't just drop out. So he pushed himself through.
He decided to go out through the other door, the one that didn't require him to pass by Jason in the kitchen, and potentially have to hear his voice. He sounded so nice, and Percy hated it. Ever since that incident, he's just acted perfectly normal, acted like it never even happened. It convinced Percy even further that nobody would believe him if he said anything. Because how could Jason, sweet, polite, lovable Jason... New Rome's former Praetor... The boy who took down Othrys...
Rape someone?
Especially someone as uncontrollable as Percy?
He was starting to wonder if he'd made it up himself. It was so...
Out of the blue.
And that's how he felt. Out of blue, out of the thing that makes him himself.
Empty.
Empty, like the printer Jason had thrown at him just a few days prior to the incident.
He can still remember his words. "I've told you over and over and over again, and you still haven't gone to get more ink, you fucking idiot! Do you want both of us to fail!? Just flunk out and work at a drive-through for the rest of our lives, is that what you fucking want!?"
He missed, but the printer hit the TV, and Jason got angry about that too.
That was when he decided they were breaking up.
So, maybe the assault wasn't as surprising as he thought.
Percy was walking aimlessly around campus, oblivious to everything around him, when suddenly he felt his body collide with the sidewalk, and saw his vision go black.
When he came to, everything still sounded like it was underwater, but he could see Nico standing above him. He was on his back, a position that still hurt sometimes thanks to that brutal, tear-filled night.
"Percy?" Nico asked. "You... You fainted, are you alright?"
Percy wanted to just say yes, get up, and move on. He really did. But he was so worn down, every night he had nightmares, about Tartarus, about Jason, about Gabe... He got maybe an hour and a half tonight, and that was lucky. And eating wasn't any better, he sometimes went two or three days without eating anything and not even notice, because he was so disconnected from his body. And Jason is the only one who knows how to cook, so when Percy does eat, it's usually just a bag of chips or something, because there's no way in hell he's eating anything Jason made. When was the last time he even showered?
Nico put his hand on Percy's wrist, now thin, with bones jutting out, from months of this routine. "... Are you ok?" He asked again, softer this time.
And Percy burst into tears.
(I'll probably do a part two lol)

"Then you should understand people choosing the bear"
I'm a sexual assault survivor. When I was 15, a 55-year-old woman assaulted me and three of my friends at a party where she served a bunch of 15-year-olds alcohol. Way to go Granny.
And I don't hate women. I've stepped in to defend women against attacks from men in city streets or bars. I can't say if they're all sexually related or sexually motivated - they probably were.
But when we get to the question of this, I mean, like I do empathize for victims. I get that.
But the question isn't real. And we all know the question isn't real. It's hypothetical.
I was just at a store. There are hundreds or thousands of people at this Walmart, men and women walking around, doing their thing minding their own business. Not a single woman in there was shifty eyed, dysphoric or afraid of any of the men in that store.
I was just at a restaurant. I was at a bank. I was at a coffee shop. I was walking through a park. No one was afraid of men.
Replace any of those men with one bear and see what happens.
So, because we know it's hypothetical, let's have an adult conversation. Ready?
The existence of the question at all creates bias against men. I can trick you just the same way. I'd say, what do you think more Islamic men use to murder their wives with, guns or knives or rope?
The fact that I asked the question, you go, well why is he asking that question? Do they murder their wives a lot?
The queston is: safety, bear, man, alone. Right, those are the four real words in that question. It is embedding a bias against men. Every woman that has answered that question "bear" has stepped out in public since, has interracted with hundreds of men. The average woman will interact with 300 men per day.
Maybe they'd opted for the bear just cause they wanna mix it up. They're like, I'm getting so bored with the thousands of men that I see every week that maybe I just wanna see a bear.
I don't think you understand the gravity of this question. As a abuse survivor, I'm standing up against a false claim against the nature of men, where one in a thousand men - or maybe just a hair over one in one thousand men - will commit a crime of this nature. It's a very thin number of men.
And as a man whose family was responsible for starting World War I - you know, the assassination by the Black Hand, the Archduke Franz Ferdinand, my family paid for that assassination. We started World War I, which is why World War II happened. Because I'm so closely tied to that genocide, I've studied it.
And, Hitler and the Germans use the same type of questionings and comparative logic to wage war against Jews. I am literally trying to stop thousands of women who don't know any better but than to participate in a trend from creating this wave of propaganda against men.
Someone is trying to use this question against men, and women think it's a cool, dramatic way to say, "I'm afraid of men." But they're really actually not afraid of men. Cause they wouldn't go outside. They wouldn't go shopping. They wouldn't walk through the park. They wouldn't do anything. They'd be so actually mortified of men.
The question appeals to a logical fallacy called the Fallacy of Relative Privation. They're trying to say that because a single man could do more harm than a single bear, that all men are more dangerous than all bears on average. Regardless of the context of the interaction. That strips away all sense of goodwill or truth to the fact that women interact with 300 men per day on average. That strips away the truth that a woman, per male exposure, if you walk down the sidewalk and you see a guy, you have a 1 in 35 million chance of being forcibly [g]raped in that walk by on the sidewalk.
That Fallacy of Relative Privation strips all logic to the fact that men are, by and large, safe. But yeah, 81% of women will report being sexually harassed or assaulted. 43% of men just the same.
The number of people who will experience unwanted sexual contact, men and women, are roughly the same[**]. Men will underreport at three times the rate of women. Men are victimized just as much, but we're stigmatized against talking about it.
Both sides are victims, but men are not doing this campaign to smear women to try to damage the entire, like, gender of women.
Except for me, now. I'm doing what's called logical parallels. My whole argument for the last two weeks has been such: since women assault children, their children, their biological kids at 2.5 times the rate that all men assault women sexually, then women should lose custody of their kids until they stop it. Because, the phrase going around online right now is all men until no men. So, until no women, all women. Women do not deserve custody of their biological kids if any of them are capable of harming a child. Because children are innocent and honestly, all parallels aside, it's the abuse of children that is propagating people who are becoming monsters later on in life.
So, if anyone could make a decision right now to make the world a better place in the next 15 years, it's women not abusing their kids. It's already too late for us as adults. We're already screwed. We all have our trauma that we have to work through, and that's gonna be a dog fight. But if we wanna guarantee the world's gonna be a better place, let's stop abusing kids.
So, the reason why women are choosing the bears is cause it's not a real question and they won't have consequences if they answer in a dramatic way for effect.
Just like the 30-something percent of boys are like, well, dude, if like, there's no consequences, I'd totally take advantage of a chick. See, yeah, maybe people are bad people by nature, but people still obey the law. And that's why if 32% of college men would commit SA if there's no consequences, but then only one out of every thousand men will commit that crime, that shows how much people have discipline over their nature.
And you cannot say the same thing about a bear.

A Kunichuuzai fic cuz they are one of my favorite ot3s.
Fragile: Please Handle with Care
The way Chuuya was shaking and crying in Kunikida’s arms made his heartbreak. Meanwhile, Dazai sat solid as stone and stared into memory on the bed above them. He was mumbling to himself but Kunikida could make out a few words, ‘boss’, ‘favorites’, ‘accident’. He eventually decided to move chuuya and himself when he saw the tear tracks running down Dazai’s face.
(Or the boys have terrible ptsd from Mori and Kunikida learns about it he hard way)
Rated: M
Warnings: Graphic Depictions of Violence, Rape/noncon
Word count: 4126
Check it out on AO3
It all started when a very drunk Dazai made a joke about Kunikida not being able to be in charge of Chuuya and him in bed. They all had been sexually involved with each other for a while, yet Kunikida was never given the chance to be in control like that. After some quick bickering and teasing all because of Dazai’s comment, the three of them drunkenly agreed Kunikida would be in charge tonight. No one knew that something was going to go very wrong.
-
The three men returned to Chuuya’s lavish apartment. Dazai and Chuuya had had a few too many drinks and all three of them were horny. Kunikida was carrying a very desperate Chuuya who clung to him with his legs wrapped around his waist. He was grinding his very hard cock into Kunikida’s stomach through his pants. Dazai stumbled in right behind, still holding a bottle of wine. He was being forcibly led by one of Kunikida’s hands that had intertwined itself in the brunette's hair.
Kunikida tossed Dazai onto the couch. He fell against the cushions and let out a soft grunt while struggling to keep the wine bottle upright.
“You could be gentler!” Dazai complained.
Kunikida raised an eyebrow at his partner, “You could listen better.”
Chuuya chuckled from his spot, still clinging to Kunikida. “If you listened you might get to have a little more fun like I am.”
“What fun would that be, Slug? Grinding myself desperately into him.” Dazai mocked taking a large swig from the wine bottle.
Kunikida smiled at the redhead, “or this.”
Kunikida captured Chuuya's mouth in a kiss. Their lips crashing together in drunk desperation. The smaller man ground his hips harder into Kunikida’s abdomen. The blonde moved his hands around grabbing Chuuya’s ass. Kunikida moved the smaller man with ease, using his hands to grind Chuuya’s hips faster into his own body.
Dazai sat on the couch, his boner painfully obvious from the tent in his pants. He was white knuckling the bottle in his hand, any tighter and the glass might have shattered.
“Bedroom. Now.” Kunikida broke his kiss with Chuuya to bark out the order at Dazai. The brunette took off without a single snarky comment back. Kunikida had learned the other detective was a better listener as soon as you made him horny enough. Kunikida went to follow but Chuuya’s voice made him pause.
“Grab the wine for meee,” Chuuya slurred. Kunikida let out a small laugh and grabbed the abandoned bottle of wine from the table where Dazai had left it. He handed it over to the redhead who grabbed it and started downing the dark red liquid.
As chuuya chugged wine, Kunikida brought them over to the bedroom. Dazai was waiting patiently on the bed just like kunikida ordered. When they crossed the threshold, Kunikida put Chuuya down.
“On your knees in front of the bed,” Kunikida ordered.
“Yes sir,” Chuuya slurred. He stumbled over to stand next to the bed ending up in front of Dazai.
“You’re such a lightweight, slug,” Dazai blurted out, laughing at chuuya.
“Like you’re any better! You’re just as drunk as I am,” Chuuya yelled back. He began gesturing with his hands at Dazai. The motion caused the wine to slosh around in the bottle, drops of red liquid were now running down the outside of the bottle.
“If you two keep arguing things are going to get much worse for you,” Kunikida cut in.
“Sorry,” They immediately responded. Both boys stiffened up looking much more attentive than they did a moment ago.
“A punishment isn’t useful unless it is effective.” Kunikida said in his usual matter of fact tone. “And I’ve been thinking of ways to punish Dazai for some time. I do believe they’d work on you too Chuuya.”
“We understand. We’re so sorry, bos-,” Dazai apologized. Dazai cut himself off before he finished the last word. Leaving Kunikida a bit confused but overall happy that Dazai was being so obedient.
“And give me the bottle of wine before you spill it. If you make a mess there are going to be even more consequences.”
Chuuya’s shaky hand shot out, holding the glass bottle out for Kunikida to take.
“Looks like you two know how to behave after all.”
Kunikida went to grab the wine bottle from the redhead, but with how shaking the shorter man’s hand was and the wine dripping down the side, it caused the bottle to slip from the blonde's hand. It fell and shattered on the floor between him and the mafia executive. A small puddle of wine and glass flooded the hardwood.
‘Damn. Guess I was the one to drop it after all that.’ Kunikida thought to himself. ‘That needs to be cleaned up quickly or it will stain…’
An idea then dawned on the tall man, “Clean it up,” he ordered the redhead. The agency member was too busy keeping an eye on the spreading stain that he missed the major shift in Chuuya’s body language.
“Y-yes boss…”. Chuuya mumbled, falling to his knees quickly.
“Boss?” Kunikida looked at Chuuya confused. Chuuya was already on his knees shaking like a leaf in autumn. Blood was smeared on the floor from the glass now wedged into the redhead's knees. It was as if he didn’t look before he dropped onto them a moment ago. His eyes focused on the shattered glass in front of him frantically cleaning up the shards with his bare hands, cutting himself in the process.
“Chuuya! Don’t hurt yourself.” The worry in Kunikida's voice was evident.
The redhead didn’t seem to hear him; he just kept picking up glass shards.
“Chuuya…”
“I’m sorry,” Chuuya’s eyes never left the floor. “Punish me, Boss. I deserve it.”
‘Punish him for my accident? I know what I said earlier but… it wasn’t his fault? And he’s calling me Boss?’ Kunikida’s thoughts were beginning to fill with questions he needed to ask. First though, he had to calm down Chuuya.
“It’s okay Chuuya. Please stop,” Kunikida’s voice came out like he was talking to a scared animal. He took a step towards the smaller man. The motion caused Chuuya to violently flinch.
“I’m sorry! I’m s-sorry! Imsorry! M’sorry…” Chuuya apologized as he began to shake even harder. He ripped off his hat with one bloody hand throwing the glass he was holding with his other inside it.
Kunikida turned his attention to Dazai for help or an explanation. What he found was Dazai sitting still as stone. He had never seen the demon prodigy so pale.
“Dazai…” Kunikida said, gaining his partner's attention.
When Dazai met his gaze, Kunikida saw just how empty his eyes were. It felt like Dazai was looking through him, not at him.
Kunikida tried again, “Dazai?”
“…”
“Osamu?” Kunikida tried one last time to get Dazai’s attention. It didn’t work. Dazai remained in the state he was in. Kunikida was too smart to think this had anything to do with him anymore. These two had gone through something kunikida couldn’t imagine.
A sob forced its way out of Chuuya's body drawing Kunikida’s attention back to the mafia executive. Chuuya was beginning to hyperventilate while he continued to try and clean. He dropped two more handfuls of bloody broken glass into his hat. There were significantly more cuts on the smaller man’s palm and fingers than a moment ago, drops of blood were starting to mix with the wine on the floor. Kunikida cursed himself for not trying harder to stop Chuuya sooner.
Kunikida took a cautious step towards the mafia executive. Again the redhead flinched but kunikida didn’t stop moving this time. The blonde man knelt down next to Chuuya pulling off his tan vest as he did.
“Hold this. We need to stop the bleeding,” Kunikida stuck his vest out. His eyes never moved from the mess of a man on the floor.
“It’s not cleaned up yet. I can clean it up. I can-“ Chuuya’s voice faded out as Kunikida forced the vest into his hands. He flinched when the fabric touched his open cuts. They met eyes for a moment. Chuuya’s eyes were wide open and there was no hiding the fear that Chuuya was feeling.
Kunikida spoke softly to the redhead, “Can I touch you?”
Chuuya's expression changed to confusion but nodded yes to Kunikida anyway. Kunikida gently put a hand on chuuya shoulder, rubbing gentle circles. When he saw Chuuya take a less shaky breath Kunikida moved his arm completely around his shoulders. The mafia executive fell apart in his arms. His sobs became much louder again and he curled into the blonde man’s chest as he cried.
Kunikida heard a voice from behind him. He couldn’t make out what was being said, only able to make out a word here and there. “Favorite”, “accident”, “boss”.
“Dazai…” Kunikida looked over his shoulder. Dazai was still just as pale as before. This time there were two glistening streaks down his face. His tears dripped from his cheeks onto his bandaged arms that were wrapped around his body holding himself tight.
Kunikida sighed, his chest felt tight watching the most composed man he knew crack in front of him.
“I’m going to move you a bit,” Kunikida warned Chuuya. The smaller man nodded into his chest.
Kunikida scooped up the mafia executive as smoothly as he could. Transferring both of them onto the bed next to Dazai.
“Can I touch you?” Kunikida asked his partner.
Dazai nodded. Kunikida pulled him to his other side. When he did, Dazai let out a broken sob. They stayed like that for a little while. Kunikida gently rubbed their backs, providing any sort of comfort he could.
Dazai stopped crying first. He lifted his head up and straightened his bandages out avoiding eye contact with the blonde man watching him.
Dazai’s horse voice broke the silence, “I can start explaining if you want…”
“I’d like to know. But-“ Kunikida answered. He motioned to Chuuya who wasn’t crying anymore but still hasn’t moved from his position tucked into Kunikida’s chest. “-Only if you both are okay with it.”
“Mori,” Dazai started to explain. “He started touching me when I was 14. Back before he was the boss of the Port Mafia. It was never violent back then. He used to lie and give me all sorts of drugs saying it was good for suicide. Then he would do things to me while I was too drugged to move. It didn’t get violent and abusive until after he became the boss. He found his power could come out in many new ways. When the drugs were mixed with hard punishments he almost seemed joyful. It only happened like that a few times to just me… then Chuuya joined…”
“I made him worse,” Chuuya’s words were muffled. His face was still buried. His fist now clung to Kunikida’s shirt like that of a small child. It created a few stains from the blood still seeping from a few cuts that had glass wedged deep into them.
“He was already getting worse. It wasn’t you,” Dazai said, trying to comfort his old partner.
Chuuya's voice was small and shaking but still Chuuya started to explain his side of things, “It started with him being a bit nicer to me. He gave me jobs that had clearance way above what I should’ve been doing, so I could progress faster in the mafia. He spoiled me every time I came back from a successful mission, dinners, gifts, that sort of stuff. He even let me talk back at meetings without repercussions.”
Dazai took a deep breath before he took over, “He only started calling Chuuya in after we fucked up our first mission. I knew how the night would go as soon as I received the message. I got there first just as Mori had planned. He did it so he could watch me beg to spare Chuuya. Of course that didn’t work. He wanted to ‘break Chuuya in’.”
Kunikidas shirt started to cling to his skin. A wet spot had formed on the front of it. Chuuya had started crying again.
Chuuya straightened up pulling himself together the best he could to continue, “Then we messed up. I knew something was wrong as soon as we came back. Dazai usually would come back from missions and run off to try a new method of suicide but this time he dissapeard to go report to Mori first.
“I was called in an hour later. When I walked into the office Dazai was on his knees in front of Mori… he had Mori’s cock in his mouth, fresh bruises and was only half dressed. Even his bandages were starting to unravel. I froze for a bit at first, not sure what to do. Mori reassured me that Dazai was okay with what was happening. The more he takes the more I knew it wasn’t like that at all. Not that I could do anything Mori started to lead me around soon after. He showed me what he wanted me to do when we got punished in this way. I remember him telling me how this was an ‘unusual punishment’. I shouldn’t worry too much about it happening again. Surprise surprise, that was a lie…”
“The boss started to like Chuuya more than me as time went on,” Dazai visibly grimaced, “We all know his type. I was starting to look too old to play with and well, Chuuya’s smaller. It was easier for him to pretend that he was younger.”
Chuuya rolled his eyes. “Fucking pervert.”
Even despite falling apart a few moments ago the redhead was trying his hardest to seem back to normal.
“Chuuya you’re one of the most powerful gifted I know. How did he…?” Kunikida started to ask but not finishing it when he realized it might be too much.
“That’s why he kept Dazai nearby.” Chuuya answered. “Part of it was to force him to watch the punishment I received. The other part was he was there to help stop me if I started to act out.”
Chuuya shivered, gripping Kunikida again as memories filled his head.
Dazai didn’t need to be told to take over before he continued to explain, “When Chuuya tried to fight back a couple times too many, Mori learned he could just tie us together so there wasn’t even the possibility Chuuya could use his ability. After he realized how well that worked, it happened more and more.”
Chuuya curled back into Kunikida. The harsher details were making it harder and harder to remain calm as they told Kunikida their tales.
Dazai’s eyes were glassy again watching something no one else could see, “I still have the scars from all the times Chuuya would dig his nails so hard into me that I would bleed.”
Dazai trailed off; he was still stuck in his head watching an old memory.
“Dazai, did you ever try to fight back? Mori is threatened by you right?” Kunikida asked before he could stop himself. Dazai grimaced in response.
Chuuya answered instead, “He did. Once. It ended with Dazai staring down the barrel of a gun and a scalpel to my throat. That night was the second worst time we had with him.”
“I’m still sorry about that,” Dazai mumbled, not looking at the redhead.
“You didn’t know he would go as far as he did,” Chuuya reassured.
Kunikida was filled with questions about what happened that night . All of which he knew better than to ask.
So he just started to ask another question to change the subject, “So tonight… what uh…”
“Our worst night with him started with a shattered wine bottle…” Dazai began explaining.
Chuuya cut in before Dazai could continue, “well it didn’t start with that.”
Chuuya started to stare into a memory like Dazai was earlier as he continued to talk, “It was one of the few times that Mori asked for me before Dazai. I tried to keep control. It was hard to fight my own desire to use my ability while Mori ra- …used me... Dazai walked into the room right as I threw Mori off of me. I didn’t mean to, I just acted without thinking.”
“I’ve never seen him so mad,” Dazai took over telling the story again. “If we hadn’t established our great reputation and were just average members of the mafia, I think Chuuya would be dead right now. I went to nullify Chuuya as soon as it registered what happened but Mori stopped me. That’s when the bottle was thrown at Chuuya. Just as Mori wanted, Chuuya didn’t use his ability to stop it. It shattered when it hit him, glass and wine went everywhere. Chuuya was lucky he was already on the floor, or that might have knocked him over.”
“I wasn’t really that lucky with what happened after that,” Chuuya jokes. His voice sounded distant but at least he was trying to keep it together. “He wasted no time to call Dazai over to nullify me after I was covered in glass. Once he knew I wouldn’t kick him off me again, he flipped me over and he…”
Chuuya took a deep breath. His voice had started shaking while he recounted his past “ He f-fucked me into the broken glass. It felt like it lasted forever and the pain never stopped.”
Dazai took over from there, “When Mori was done he made Chuuya clean up the remaining glass and wine from the floor but he could only use his hands for the glass and his clothes to sop up the wine.”
Kunikida felt sick to his stomach. Of course Chuuya would freak out at a simple spill after something like that. Kunikida leaned down to kiss the top of the ginger’s head. Chuuya was shaking again, his breath uneven, and he was back to clinging to Kunikida’s shirt like a small child.
“I’m so sorry,” Kunikida apologized. His voice was soft and gentle. Chuuya made a small noise in response, just enough to let the man know he heard him.
“After that he made me pull each piece of glass from Chuuya’s body with my bare hands,” Dazai continued, determined to give kunikida the whole story. “It took a very long time and Mori sat and watched the whole thing. He kept telling me how I was hurting Chuuya and that there could’ve been an easier way if we behaved better. The fucker made me blow him for a pair of tweezers in order to get the smaller pieces out of Chuuya’s skin.”
Dazai shook his head and let out a dry chuckle. The way Dazai crumbled immediately after shattered Kunikida's heart once again. The brunette curled into himself once more letting out broken sobs between his hyperventilating breaths.
Chuuya’s shaking body crawled out of Kunikida's arms and made his way to Dazai. He wrapped his arms around the other man.
“We’re not there anymore Dazai. I’m okay now. You did what you had to,” Chuuya whispered small comforts to his ex-partner.
“I’m sorry Chuuya… I’m so sorry,” Dazai kept repeating those words over and over as Chuuya held him.
Kunikida wasn’t sure what to do. He was frozen in place watching the two men behave in ways he never thought they’d let him see. They were both so broken and traumatized.
As he watched them, guilt was beginning to grow in the pit of Kunikida’s stomach as the realization of how they ended up talking about all this hit him. Kunikida’s thoughts started to spiral. ‘I would’ve waited until we were sober. I could’ve asked them more questions about hard limits. I should’ve paid more attention to body language. I-I-‘
“Doppo?” Chuuya’s soft voice pulled Kunikida out of his thoughts. “Are you okay?”
“I'm fine. I should be the one asking you that. You still have glass in your hands,” Kunikida redirected.
“You did nothing wrong, you know? No one knew this is how tonight would end up,” Chuuya pointed out. “Also you’re crying so it’s easy to tell you’re not okay.”
Kunikida didn’t realize he started crying. He reached up and touched his cheek. It was in fact wet. He was crying. “…I’m just… I’m so sorry. I didn’t know-“
“-How could you?” Dazai cut in, his breathing was still returning to normal but he stopped crying. “Also it was my idea for you to be in charge. Clearly I didn’t think this is how it would go.”
“I guess you’re right,” Kunikida reluctantly agreed, wiping his tears away.
“Now come here,” Chuuya invited him to cuddle.
“We should get the glass out of your hands first…” Kunikida said cautiously.
Chuuya looked down at his hands, glass shards stuck up out of the skin in various places. His hands had turned completely red from the dried blood and wine stains. Chuuya let out a big sigh, Kunikida knew it was mostly for dramatics.
“I guess you’re right. Can you get me a trash can then,” Chuuya asked.
Kunikida nodded and went to grab the trash can from the bathroom attached to the bedroom. Kunikida returned a moment later with the trash can and a pair of tweezers. In his absence the other two men had untangled and chuuya was sitting off to the side waiting.
“Do you need help?” Kunikida asked. He handed the trash can over to Chuuya and held up the tweezers.
“Not yet, watch this,” Chuuya’s hands began to glow red. With a quick flick of his hand almost all of the glass flew out and into the trash can. “I can get most of it out this way. There’s still a few small pieces stuck in there I’ll need help with…”
Chuuya held up his hands to kunikida, “Help me with the rest?”
“Of course,” Kunikida answered while he sat down next to the redhead on the bed. “Let me know if I hurt you.”
Chuuya nodded. The room fell quiet except for the occasional clink of glass into the trash can.
Chuuya broke the silence first, “Dazai, would you go grab a towel and broom for the hall closet? We still need to clean up the wine.”
“Why can’t you make Kunikida so it,” Dazai whined out.
“Well he’s a little busy. Unless you want to take over for him?” Chuuya snapped back at him.
“…fine.” Dazai begrudgingly accepted his task and ran off to grab the supplies.
While Dazai was off, Kunikida managed to pull all the glass from Chuuya’s hands.
“I think that does it…” Kunikida said.
“Thank you,” Chuuya’s voice was soft again. “Could you do my knees too? There’s not much.”
Kunikida nodded yes. Chuuya threw his legs over the blonde's lap. Dazai returned right as they settled in.
“Oh so you two are just gonna cuddle while I do all of the work!” Dazai complained from the doorway. A towel in one hand and a broom in the other, just like Chuuya asked for.
“Shut up mackerel! He’s pulling even more glass out of me!” Chuuya yelled back. “Now clean up my floor.”
“This wasn’t even my mess! I was on the bed!” Dazai continued to complain.
Kunikida cut in before Chuuya could tell again, “Dazai just clean it up. I’ll do your paperwork for the next week if you do it without any more complaining.”
“Hmmm… two weeks?” Dazai bargained.
“No. One week. You don’t even do your own paperwork half the time. You make Atsushi do it.” Kunikida pointed out.
“You both are against me.” Dazai flung his arms up in the most dramatic fashion he could manage to act hurt.
Chuuya threw a pillow at Dazai which the brunette doged with ease.
“Fine. I’ll take you up on your offer only if I also get to request blowjobs anytime I want during that week too,” Dazai said.
“Fine.” Chuuya and Kunikida said at the same time.
“Whatever will get you to clean,” Chuuya grumbled.
Dazai beamed with happiness at his successful bargaining. As promised he didn’t even complain while he quickly cleaned up the mess on the floor.
Dazai finished cleaning around the same time Kunikida finished pulling the glass out of Chuuya’s knees.
Chuuya got up off the bed. “I’ll need to go wash all this blood off. But after, how about a movie on the couch?”
The other two nodded in agreement. An hour later Dazai and Chuuya were fast asleep on the couch. Dazai fell asleep on Kunikida’s shoulder and Chuuya’s head was in his lap. Kunikida was ignoring whatever movie they decided on. His chest still ached from guilt but was soothed by watching the two men peacefully sleep.

Technically speaking the modern state of Israel practices settler colonialism insofar as it follows a policy of ethnonationalist/religious favoritism of one group - Israeli Jews mostly descended from post-1945 immigrants from Europe and many nations throughout the Middle East - over another, the Palestinians, the people indigenous to the land Israel now inhabits, who have lived on that land for centuries prior to the mass immigration of Jewish settlers outside of Palestine. Taking land from an indigenous population forcibly to give to another is the definition of occupation; as a Ukrainian, you should be more familiar with that than most. From an anthropological POV Israel is as much of an occupier state as the US, Canada, or Australia, and any credible historian, anthropologist, and political scientist would confirm as much. Citing one (1) Israeli historian is a weak argument; visiting Egypt five times/Jordan once/"speaking with Egyptians about Palestine" or whatever even more so. I personally like your blog and I appreciate your insight into the Russian invasion and occupation of Ukraine, and I believe Hamas is as harmful to the people of Palestine as any other terrorist organization and do not support them, but your recent posts come off as terribly arrogant and performatively pseudointellectual, especially your conflation of anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism, which is a red herring logical fallacy. People are angry with Israel not because they love Hamas, but because Israel is murdering thousands of innocent civilians in cold blood and in disproportionate measure to the original attacks. People are not endorsing Hamas, they are pointing out that occupied and aggrieved people will inevitably fight back against their occupiers, absolutely have the right to do so, and unfortunately may turn to drastic measures to do so. I suggest with all due respect that you do more research on why exactly Palestine has grievances with Israel and perhaps show more empathy and grace to the people of Gaza than you have thus far, because all you've done so far is cry "anti-Semitism!" and argue that Palestine actually does deserve all of this death and terror "because Hamas", and it's getting tiring. After all, anyone could argue that Ukraine deserved all the shit it's gone through in the past decade, because you've consistently chosen corrupt and greedy politicians in democratic elections, and "most people in Ukraine speak Russian anyway, so maybe Russia does have the right to take Ukraine back, I mean historically Ukraine has always belonged to Moscow, and Ukraine doesn't have the right to fight back because it's not a legitimate state" ad nauseum. But nobody does that, because that's stupid. Yet you feel entitled to pass such judgment on Palestine because of Hamas and it shows your utter hypocrisy and lack of understanding on the matter in its entirety. Do better.

This is an astonishing accusation.
First of all, yes, I highly recommend you to read
These

Texts
I still highly recommend you to read Nadia Lipes, who is not just some historian but a world-famous Ukrainian-Jewish historian, a genealogist, who created a huge Jewish genealogy database, who helped a lot of people to find their relatives killed by nazis or communists or someone else.
I've already written multiple times why the russo-Ukrainian war and Israel-Palestinian war are not the same at all, although they are connected through russia, which finances both of them. As well as many other genocides, but it's not the point.
"The Palestinians, the people indigenous to the land Israel" - are you telling me that Jews are not indigenous of Judea, with Rachel's Tomb and stuff???
Tumblr media
They bought the land back. They didn't take it by fire and sword. Palestinians were pretty okay with it until soviet union started financing hamas.
"Disproportionate measure" - oh come on. I've never heard about Israeli raping Muslim women. En masses. Burning them alive. Shooting children etc.
"Occupied and aggrieved people will inevitably fight back against their occupiers, absolutely have the right to do so, and unfortunately may turn to drastic measures to do so."
Is this what you call fighting back? Have you ever heard about Ukrainians doing to russians the same things Hamas and Palestinians did to those poor people on festival?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Charred remains and a CT scan of the remains show a parent and child who were bound together and burned alive on Oct. 7. Two spinal columns—one of an adult and one of a child—can be seen in the scan. The pair were likely embracing as they burned.
Could you please tell me when have I ever said that "Palestine actually does deserve all of this death and terror "because Hamas"? Could you please tell me when have I ever said this? What Palestine has to go through is horrible because they are literally LDNR of the Middle East.
"Anyone could argue that Ukraine deserved all the shit it's gone through in the past decade because you've consistently chosen corrupt and greedy politicians in democratic elections [...] But nobody does that because it's stupid." - Ahaha. Nobody does that, you say? Then whom do you quote? You clearly haven't talked with people enough. Also, lmao, bringing the corruption topic? When Hungary, Slovakia, Netherlands, Poland, Germany, UNITED NATIONS AND INTERNATIONAL RED CROSS exist?
The only person who is showing utter hypocrisy and lack of understanding right now is you, dear anon.
Tumblr media
You may not trust me, but you should trust Nadia Lipes and Rami Aman.

GILBERT VON OBSIDIAN MAIN ROUTE....
Tumblr media
CHAPTER TWENTY THREE, DRAMATIC.
translations are not 100% accurate. expect mistakes.
trigger warning: child abuse, death, rape, and war mention.
minors and ageless blogs dni.
Ten years ago, on the day of the bloodstained rose day, the ever-victorious marshal was not called to the battlefield.
He had always been a cautious man, even to the point of advising the emperor that it was "premature" to invade Rhodolite.
The marshal has many achievements on the battlefield, and has an influence that even the supreme commander cannot ignore.
Therefore, he must have anticipated that if he had consulted with him beforehand, he would have received some unsightly advice. // Therefore, he must have anticipated that if he consulted with them in advance, he would have received unsolicited advice.
The ever-victorious marshal was unaware of the invasion, and was informed of it by a spy he had trained.
Tumblr media
Gilbert: Ah, you did it. // Ah, you’ve done it.
When he arrived there, the village near the border was already on fire.
Many buildings were destroyed by heavy weapons, and roses have been trampled down in a cruel way.
There were corpses lying on the side of the road, regardless of whether they were children or old people.
In the midst of such a microcosm of hell, the ever-victorious marshal clunk his cane.
Without his usual refreshing smile, the faces of the self-employed soldiers around him all turned pale.
Gilbert: I was about to give him a clean invasion and he.…
He stomps one of the soldiers on the ground with his foot.
Beside him, another soldier with a bruise on his face was also rubbing his forehead on the ground.
Soldier 1: Ah…I’m very sorry!
Gilbert: ——What? Are you begging for your life now?
Soldier 2: That’s…
Gilbert: You used to beat up little children to relieve your sorrows.
Gilbert: The people on Rhodolite’s side were beating me up to stop me, but I'm not so nice, you know?
Gilbert: Isn't it in the military regulations? It's forbidden to assault non-combatants.
Gilbert: Only the emperor is allowed to make exceptions. Who do you people think you are to break the military code?
Tumblr media
Gilbert: For the time being, the death penalty is certain.
Soldier 1: Please forgive me….!
Gilbert:….Ah, that's right. Since we're here, let's kill him when he wakes up.
Gilbert: A child who lost his precious family to your relief will be rewarded a little. // It will also give a little justice to the little boy who was deprived of his precious family by your relief.
Soldier 2: Lord Gilbert….
Gilbert: ——Take him away. Don't let him see daylight again.
At the word of the marshal, who has absolute influence, the men who were crawling on the ground are forcibly taken away.
The village, which had been conquered, was unusually quiet.
Gilbert: Roderich, what's the situation?
Roderich: The village is almost completely destroyed. There are patrols by the Rhodolite forces, but the operation appears to be at an end.
Gilbert:….I see.
Gilbert: The child you just picked up, take him to our medical facility. He was barely breathing, wasn't he?
Roderich: What about Lord Gilbert?
Gilbert: Well…..for now, I’ll go see the emperor.
Roderich: Please stop, it's dangerous.
Gilbert: Haha, when did you become great enough to command me?
Roderich:….Lord Gilbert.
Gilbert: If you think about it for a moment, you'll understand, yes? Even at this time from the start of the operation, we still haven't been able to control the Rhodolite. // It's a little obvious, isn't it? We're this late into the war, and we still haven’t controlled Rhodolite.
Gilbert: As long as a short-term decisive battle is not possible, the attrition of both countries will only intensify.
Gilbert: If we continue this senselessly, we will lose valuable troops and find ourselves in a difficult position.
Gilbert: Even if we could invade Rhodolite, it would be the end of us if another country came after us when we were exhausted.
Roderich:…….
Gilbert:….I hate it. These stupid battles.
He kneels beside a person being lying on the side of the road who would have been alive only a short time ago.
He put his hands on the eyes of the person/man who was facing the end with a face full of fear, and slowly lowered his eyelids.
Gilbert: If he can't cleanly trample the people, he should’ve retreat gracefully. // If he can't cleanly overrun the entire nation, then he should just gracefully step aside.
Roderich: It's very hard for the emperor to accept that advice...
Gilbert: He's an idiot, that's why.
Gilbert: But I'm at my wits' end. If the supreme commander is still here, Obsidian will eventually destroy itself.
Gilbert: And that’s a problem. Which is why I have my own plan.
Roderich:….Don’t tell me…..
Gilbert puts his index finger in front of his lips and smiles on the red-stained battlefield.
However, the red blood-colored eye are devoid of any emotion.
Gilbert: That’s right….
Gilbert: If I don't show up at the rendezvous point at night, then…. // If I don't show up at the meeting point tonight.......
Gilbert: Take care of the rest, okay?
Tumblr media
Gilbert: ——Miss, little miss rabbit.
Emma: Ah…..
When I came to my senses, all my sight was stolen by Lord Gilbert.
(——……)
Gilbert: The kids are already gone.
Emma: I….I’m sorry, I spaced out.
As I hastily move away with a sense of deja vu, Lord Gilbert's lips pout in disapproval for some reason.
Gilbert: Date.
Emma: Eh.
Tumblr media
Gilbert: Since it’s a date, this close distance is acceptable. // It's a date, so I think we should be at least as close as we can get.
Emma: We were as close as lovers.
Gilbert: Is it no good?
Emma: Of course it’s no good.
(I’m not his lover or anything.)
Gilbert: You're so guarded.
Gilbert: I wouldn’t mind being your lover.
(You're just messing with me...right?) // (Are you messing with me?)
I pretended to be calm to make up for my pounding heart, but his red eye never turned away.
Gilbert: Even so, little rabbit seems to be busy thinking about things today. // Then again, the little rabbit seems to be busy with her thoughts today.
Gilbert: What did they tell you? // What did those two talk to you about?
Emma: Nothing….
Gilbert: Didn't I tell you last night that if you're going to lie, you better be good at it?
(….I'm not sure if I'm good at this.)
I turn my head to the side, afraid that if I make eye contact with him, he will see right through me.
However, Lord gilbert was not so tolerant as to allow it, and he forcefully took my chin with his cane.
Tumblr media
Gilbert: I won't be mad, just tell me.
Emma: You won't kill anyone/them?
Gilbert:……
Emma: Then I will never tell you.
Gilbert: Ahaha, I'm just messing with you. I can guess what you're talking about without asking.
Gilbert: Those two are now desperate to keep me alive.
Gilbert: That's why they want you on my side, because you're the only one who might be able to convince me.
Gilbert: The only thing that makes you feel uneasy/swayed is the bloodstained rose day that happened 10 years ago.
Gilbert: Roderich knew everything I was doing at the time. …..I tried to keep him quiet.
(Looks like there’s no need to lie.)
When I give up and nod, Lord Gilbert moved his cane away.
Gilbert: So? Do you think I’m a good person?
Emma: No. ….I didn't think you were a good person.
Emma:...You just didn't allow the one-sided massacre. That was something I couldn't forgive.
Emma: Good or bad aside, I just thought you were that kind of person.
(…To speak outrightly against the emperor, Lord Gilbert must have risked his life.)
(Even so, I couldn't overlook the cruel act, so I turned my back on him...)
(When he was in the capital, Obsidian retreated without knowing about the war.)
On Rhodolite’s side does not know this story.
It's not like knowing about it will make the hatred go away.
(However, looking only at the results, there is a fact that he was saved by Lord Gilbert.).
(As Mr. Roderich said, this story is selfish.)
(If I, a Rhodolitian, find out….)
━━FLASHBACK━━
Gilbert: I knew of the emperor's invasion and did not stop him. After all, I am on the perpetrator's side.
Gilbert: I have no right to mourn the dead. The White Rose festival is just a festival to me.
Emma:…I understand.
Gilbert: Really? you should have expected it now.
Gilbert: I wish I had been more convenient for you.
━━FLASHBACK ENDS━━
(………)
(...My emotions are lost.)
(The more I learn about what kind of person Lord Gilbert is...the more I dyed myself black as the owner fears.)
Is he so irredeemable that he has to die?
I think about it even as I walk around this city right now.
The Obsidian I knew had a bloody image.
However, the people who come and go have the same bright and lively expressions as those who live in Rhodolite.
The idyllic and peaceful scene is a testament to the skill of the ruler.
(Lord Gilbert will not tolerate corruption and deceit. He also does not tolerate massacres and oppression.)
(He became a great villain because he was noble at heart.)
━━FLASHBACK━━
Gilbert: You have the most beautiful heart in all of Rhodolite.
Gilbert: There are many different criteria for evaluating a beautiful heart, but.....
Gilbert: Let's define beauty in your case as "being more loving to others than to yourself."
━━FLASHBACK ENDS━━
(….If that's the applied standard, then Lord Gilbert is also...)
Gilbert: Hey.
Suddenly, a shadow falls on my face, and something cold yet — soft is pressed against my lips.
(……)
(….Huh, just now…..)
Gilbert: If you spaced out many times even though you're with me, you'll get hurt, you know?
Lord Gilbert didn't seem embarrassed/bothered, and he held my hand as it was.
After a while, the heat burst out from my body as if I had jumped into a bathtub.
Emma: ——You can’t do that so casually!
Gilbert: It's bad enough that you’re full of openings, isn't it?
Emma: Even so…you’re always, always….!
Tumblr media
Gilbert: Eh, what? Are you begging me to do it again?
Lord Gilbert seemed to really want to do it, so I shook my head as hard as I could.
(I was caught off guard...but I think Lord Gilbert is a surprisingly good kisser...)
(This is how it is for other people too—)
(—-I can’t imagine that.)
Ever since living in obsidian, I haven’t seen a single woman around Lord Gilbert.
(Then why…..)
(……)
I was about to be distracted by something strange, and hastily shook off my evil thoughts.
(….I thought that this person's "like" wasn't true love….)
(......But then there are more things that can't be explained.)
Gilbert: Hehe, now focus on me.
Tumblr media
Lord Gilbert headed to a nearby shop while I was upset.
He bought some baked goods with dried fruit and shoved one of them into my mouth without question.
Emma:….Delicious.
Gilbert: I guess so. It looks delicious from the smell.
With my hand on his, he sits down on a nearby bench.
Puzzled, I sat down next to him, and he offered the sweets to my mouth again, as if he were a parent bird feeding its chicks.
(It’s only just me though….)
Emma: Aren’t you going to eat, Lord Gilbert?
Gilbert: Yeah, I'm full right now.
(….Usually, you’d eat so much.)
━━FLASHBACK━━
Walter: Lord Gilbert's body has already reached its limits. Even just speaking causes him considerable pain.
Walter: There’s…..only a few more days left…..
Walter: No, the sooner the decision, the better. Otherwise, it will be too late.
━━FLASHBACK ENDS━━
(…You're the one who hates lying.)
(Always act nonchalant in front of others....)
Instantly, he can't taste the sweets anymore.
Tumblr media
Gilbert: Hmm…it seems that not only Roderich, but Walter also said something unnecessary.
Lord Gilbert smiled wryly/bitterly and stuffed the baked sweets into my mouth again.
Gilbert: I know what you are thinking and what is troubling you.
Gilbert: But, it's all useless.
Emma: Useless?
Gilbert: Yes, you can't change my will and I don't think we have time for this anymore, right?
Gilbert: You still don't know what kind of evil I'm doing.
Gilbert: I think it's a bit farfetched to say 'I want you to live' without understanding that.
Emma:....So, what are you planning?
Gilbert:……..
The important thing is to be deceived with a smile, and sweets are thrown into my mouth again.
Cold fingers traced my lips, which were covered with layers of sweets, and pressed them together mischievously.
Gilbert: I just want to do something a little fun in my last remaining days.
Emma:…….
Gilbert: Once you've eaten, why don't you take a look around the store? I'll help you find the right jewelry for you.
Emma:…Jewelry?
Gilbert: Yes, I'll process it for you. So that you can carry it with you for the rest of your life.
Lord Gilbert laughed in the lively hustle and bustle of the city.
(Why…)
(.....Why do you have such a sad laugh.)
Tumblr media
It was only the next day that I learned what it meant.
(I wondered what was going on when I was suddenly summoned by Lord Gilbert...)
Tumblr media
Luke: Oh, you look good. // Oh, how are you?
Emma:….Luke?
I stopped near the entrance and blinked my eyes several times.
No matter how many times I checked, it was Luke who was supposed to be at Rhodolite.
Emma: Why….
(….No, don't run away, me.)
(There is only one reason why Luke would be at Obsidian castle looking so nonchalant.)
The disconnection between Rhodolite and Obsidian continues today.
It is difficult to even enter the country unless you have a special transit permit like the owner.
(I mean…there’s a way to permit.)
━━FLASHBACK━━
Luke: That's enough, Gil. You're on their side, aren't you?
Luke: What you’re doing right now is threatening Emma.
Tumblr media
Emma: Does everyone know that Prince Clavis is working with the anti-monarchy faction and is sending assassins?
Luke: I don’t think so. Maybe Chevalier does, but I’m not sure about the others.
Rio: Then how did Prince Luke know?
Luke: Hm…wild guess.
━━FLASHBACK ENDS━━
(At that time, the owner came and made me feel uncertain…)
The fact that Luke was here also made me feel uncomfortable.
Emma:....What is the relationship between Luke and Lord Gilbert?
Gilbert: Hehe....when that question comes up before you rejoice at the reunion, little rabbit is so clever, isn’t she?
Luke: Ahh......I was hoping you'd like me.
Luke languidly scratches his hair and flicks a glance at Lord Gilbert, who was sitting across the table.
Luke: I wasn't with him all the time, but he did give me some financial support, so I guess you could say he was my foster parent?
Tumblr media
Gilbert: Call me big brother.
Luke: I think you're more like a father?
Gilbert: Then you can call me papa/dad?
Luke: I'm not going to say it. That's disgusting.
Gilbert: How terrible....where did the cute and innocent Luke from those days go?
(Lord Gilbert is the foster parent?)
Gilbert: The little rabbit has frozen up.
Luke: That’s right. // That's what happens.
(…Come to think of it, Luke was a new prince who had arrived at the court, just like me.)
(I don't know with whom or where he lived before that.)
Gilbert: Luke is a war orphan.
Emma: Orphan…?
Luke: My whole family died ten years ago.
His leaf-colored eyes became stagnate and hollow.
I felt a sense of dread.
(Ten years ago, which means it was the bloodstained rose day.)
Luke: I lived in a place called Espoir Village.
(I've heard of that place before.)
━━FLASHBACK━━
Yves: I stayed in the rear, but Licht and Leon were on the front lines, and Jin...
Licht: We headed for the Espoir village, which was the hardest hit by the invasion.
Licht: The situation back then was dire.
Licht: All the buildings collapsed, the roses were stained with the blood of the inhabitants, and fires were raging everywhere...
Licht: By the time Jin arrived, it was apparently too late for anything…
━━FLASHBACK ENDS━━
Luke: I was buried under the rubble. Gilbert saved me.
Gilbert: I can't ignore the fact that an innocent child is dying, can I?
Gilbert: It was pretty serious at the time, you know? I picked him up because it was beyond the capabilities of Rhodolite to treat him.
Gilbert: I did, and as you can see, I missed him.
Luke:....I ain't missin' you.
(Thats….)
(If it’s true, that would be an amazing coincidence.)
━━FLASHBACK━━
Clavis: Let me tell you something, there is no such thing as coincidence in genius.
Clavis: It is inevitable that there is... he manipulates the situation as he wishes, like moving the pieces on the board.
━━FLASHBACK ENDS━━
Emma: Was it really a coincidence?
For some reason Lord Gilbert shook his shoulders at the sudden suspicion.
Gilbert: Oh, do you doubt me? That's right, the child I found by chance was a prince.
Gilbert: There is no one better suited to be a spy.
Gilbert: It’s quite possible that Luke has grown attached to me.
Luke:…You’re wrong?
Gilbert: I wonder? At least, I think people on Rhodolite’s side think this way.
Gilbert: Even if Obsidian's army had saved Luke, the country is not moved by humanity.
Gilbert: "You saved him when you knew he was a child who could eventually bite the royal family".
(No, that’s wrong….)
It reminds me of the children who cried on the streets the other day.
(Probably a coincidence as far as Luke is concerned.)
(I know Lord Gilbert is not the kind of person who takes advantage of children.)
Emma: I'm sorry...forget what I just said.
Gilbert: Huh, why?
Emma: As expected, it's different from when I didn't know anything about Lord Gilbert.
Gilbert:……
Emma: You helped Luke without knowing he was a prince and found out later.
Emma: From there, you may have used Luke for your scheme…..
Emma: At least you didn't think anything of it when you saved him.
Gilbert: Hmm...do you think so?
Emma: Since Lord Gilbert saved his life, he’s lending a hand in some evil deeds.
Emma:.....Luke, is that what you mean?
The only thing I can surmise from the information I have now is that Luke has ties to the anti-monarchy faction of Rhodolite.
━━FLASHBACK━━
Chevalier: Disasters begin when national opinion is divided.
Chevalier: It's a clash between the so-called monarchy and anti-monarchy organizations. The eye patch takes advantage of that.
━━FLASHBACK ENDS━━
(He is involved with the anti-monarchy faction at the behest of Lord Gilbert.....I can see how that might be a possibility.)
Luke, however, shook his head loosely.
Luke: It's not because I owe Gilbert or anything.
Luke: Rather, this guy is in a position to support me.
Tumblr media
Gilbert: Luke, of his own volition, united the anti-monarchy factions scattered all over Rhodolite.
Gilbert: I also had my wisdom, but it was Luke who finally decided to do it.
(The way you put it, Luke may not be a member of the anti-monarchy faction, but a leader.)
Emma:….Why……
Luke: My family was killed by Rhodolite royalty.
——The room goes quiet.
I let out a shaky exhale.
Emma: No way........among the princes I know, there is no one who does such a thing——
(.....No, there was only one person.)
(But he’s not the kind of person who takes lives for no reason.)
Luke: My family's head was thrown off right in front of my eyes.
Luke's expression gradually loses its emotion.
Luke:….It's hard not to hold a grudge.
Gilbert: Besides, I told you before, didn't I? About Luke's real parents.
(That’s right….)
━━FLASHBACK━━
Gilbert:......Do you know the story of Luke's mother?
Gilbert: His mother was just a maid in the service of the court.
Gilbert: But the king forced himself on her because she looked like the woman he loved.
Gilbert: Heartbroken, she left the court to give birth and raise Luke in secret.
━━FLASHBACK ENDS━━
(Luke has plenty of motivation to take revenge on the royal family.)
Luke: I don't care if Gilbert uses me, I'm going to get my revenge.
Luke: That's why I'm alive to this day.
Emma: Luke…..
(We were close by and I didn't even notice.)
(….I wonder what thoughts you've been having about the castle all this time.)
Luke:…I'm just a vengeance demon, but the others aren't.
Luke: They all have their own reasons and are tired of the authoritarianism of the king and nobles.
Luke: I don't like the way this continent is, just because they're royalty, they can do whatever they want.
Luke: We are a group with that kind of will.
Gilbert: See, you know why I'm willing to help, right?
Gilbert: His ideology is the same as mine….so I thought I'd help him out.
(….This has to stop.)
(Otherwise, it would be a disaster.)
Luke: I mean, that's what I'm here about. When is the "Last Judgment"?
Gilbert: Ah, I was going to hold off until the signing ceremony....
Gilbert: I see. Do you guys want to aim for that ceremony?
Luke: That's right. It's a great place for royalty and nobles to gather. This kind of opportunity will never come again.
Emma: Wait.....what are you going to do?
My heart is hot and screaming.
Tension stiffened my body to the point that cold sweat ran down my spine.
Gilbert: Hehe...you saw it, didn't you, little rabbit? Our castle is full of guns.
Gilbert: You never showed any interest in it, but what do you think would happen if it fell into the hands of the anti-monarchy faction?
(…….!)
Gilbert: Until now, those in power have been able to suppress popular uprisings by force.
Gilbert: But with this gun, even the people will be able to suppress it by force. Because it's a tool that can kill anyone.
Gilbert: Guns are not yet popular in other countries. Therefore, even if a riot occurs, it is extremely difficult to come up with countermeasures.
(….This is the invasion and trampling by Lord Gilbert…..)
━━FLASHBACK━━
Gilbert: Because there’s one ruler that knows a lot about deception and corruption...
Gilbert: My "ideal" is to trample upon all the royal families that have spread across the continent, and to free the people from the rule of power.
━━FLASHBACK ENDS━━
Gilbert: In fact, we've already given guns to anti-monarchy organizations in various countries.
Luke: However, there isn’t any bullets. It's just a scrap iron with nothing inside.
Luke: This guy is dodging the issue by saying he's on his last judgement or something.
Emma:....What is the last judgment?
Gilbert: I told you before, didn't I? I want to see another story about you that I couldn't tell myself.
Emma:……
Gilbert: Hey, little rabbit.
Lord Gilbert crossed his legs and his smile was refreshing as the blue sky peeking through the window.
Gilbert: If you kill me right here and right now, you might be able to save Rhodolite, you know?
Tumblr media
To the shy/bashful little rabbit.
Thank you for the date today.
It was fun walking around town with you and doing this and that.
You could have been more attached and lovey-dovey. Too bad you are so shy.
The truth is, there were many more places I wanted to take you.
Obsidian is more urban than Rhodolite, you know.
There are all kinds of commercial and recreational facilities that I think you will enjoy a lot.
That being said, I don't usually walk around town that much either.
If they find out I'm royalty, the atmosphere of the city will be instantly tinged with fear, and you know what will happen…right?
You were the only one who was special.
I wish I had the chance to go to town with you again...but I doubt it.
Well...I'm looking forward to seeing you again. — Gilbert von Obsidian.

The Berlin Conference of 1884 divided Africa between the European empires, green-lighting rampant imperialism and genocide. As popular military rebellions devastate France’s neo-colonial grip on Africa, a reminder of how African resources were divided among colonial powers to build up the capitals of Europe, while Africa was kept in poverty, depravation and colonial domination.

Africa is embracing revolutions against neo-colonialism. That’s a good start, but…
What happens next is critical. The military power that freed the country needs economic smartness.
How to create jobs, grow the economy, boost trade, educate people, provide healthcare, build infrastructure etc. require very different types of skills and human resources.

Most people in the West don't know about the Algerian War of Independance (1954 to 1962).
One million Algerians gave their lives in the war to kick the French out. During the war, various war crimes were perpetrated, such as the massacre of civilians, instances of rape, and torture. Additionally, the French forces were responsible for demolishing more than 8,000 villages and forcibly relocating over 2 million Algerians to concentration camps.

The rape conviction of movie producer Harvey Weinstein has been overturned by New York's highest court.
The New York Court of Appeals, in a scathing 4-3 opinion, overturned Weinstein's conviction on sex crimes against three women, finding the trial judge "erroneously admitted testimony of uncharged, alleged prior sexual acts against persons other than the complainants of the underlying crimes."
The court said that testimony "served no material non-propensity purpose" and "portrayed defendant in a highly prejudicial light."
Weinstein spokesperson Juda Engelmayer told ABC News, "We are happily surprised and we are studying the ruling."
The Weinstein team, which was eagerly awaiting a ruling, was not expecting it to be in Weinstein's favor after a succession of rulings in different courts all went against Weinstein.
Weinstein was also convicted of sex offenses in Los Angeles and sentenced to 16 years in prison there.
Because Weinstein is already convicted in California, he will not be released, but instead transferred to the custody of prison authorities in California.
Weinstein, 72, was a well-known, powerful man within the entertainment industry and prosecutors said he abused his power to take advantage of aspiring female actors, like the alleged victims, to coerce them into unwanted sexual encounters. According to the prosecution, the quid pro quo of assisting them with their careers in exchange for sexual favors on demand was both common behavior and a well-known secret throughout the film industry.
An explosive New York Times article in October 2017 reported Weinstein had reached at least eight settlements with women who accused him of sexual misconduct over decades. The story, which featured actress Ashley Judd publicly accusing Weinstein of propositioning her in 1997, sparked an avalanche of accusations from women who came forward with similar accounts and largely kicked off the #MeToo movement, targeting prominent celebrities for sexual misconduct.
Weinstein was arrested on May 25, 2018, and charged with first- and third-degree rape for one victim, and first-degree criminal sex act for another woman. He was found guilty in February 2020 of two felonies -- criminal sexual assault and third-degree rape -- but acquitted of the two most serious charges -- predatory sexual assault. He was also acquitted of first-degree rape.
Prosecutors said the testimony of women other than those whose claims formed the basis of the criminal charges spoke to Weinstein's state of mind to use forcible compulsion. The majority opinion, however, said that eviscerated the time-tested rule against propensity evidence, "which, in criminal cases, serves as a judicial bulwark against a guilty verdict based on supposition rather than proof."
The Manhattan district attorney's office said it will retry Weinstein should the alleged victims be willing to come forward again.
"We will do everything in our power to retry this case, and remain steadfast in our commitment to survivors of sexual assault," a spokeswoman for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said in a statement.
Attorney Douglas H. Wigdor, who has represented eight alleged Weinstein victims, including two of the Molineux witnesses -- those not pertaining to the crimes charged -- at the New York criminal trial, said in a statement: "Today’s decision is a major step back in holding those accountable for acts of sexual violence. Courts routinely admit evidence of other uncharged acts where they assist juries in understanding issues concerning the intent, modus operandi or scheme of the defendant."
He continued, "The jury was instructed on the relevance of this testimony and overturning the verdict is tragic in that it will require the victims to endure yet another trial."
Lindsay Goldbrum, who represents six Weinstein accusers, including Taralê Wulff, one of the Molineux witnesses to testify about being sexually assaulted by Weinstein during his criminal trial in New York, said in a statement: "This ruling is a leap backward for the rule of law. In New York, Molineux witnesses play a critical role in establishing a defendant’s common scheme or plan to commit alleged crimes. When a defendant is accused of being a sexual predator, especially one as powerful as Weinstein, the testimony of Molineux witnesses is crucial to disproving the defense that sexual encounters were consensual."
The Court of Appeals decided the evidence of uncharged crimes allowed at trial "was unnecessary" to establish Weinstein's intent and "served only to establish defendant's propensity to commit the crimes charged."
The opinion also said the trial judge, James Burke, abused his discretion when he allowed Weinstein to be cross-examined about the uncharged conduct, ruling it "served no purpose other than to display for the jury defendant's loathsome character."

I saw your targaryens being terrible rulers post and i loved it. Do u have any unpopular stark rulers? I for one don't think cregan was that special, not a fan of him being on team rhaenyra (i just don't get why he was so loyal to her or jace, didn't jace ask for attacking kingslanding via dragons in the books?)
Anyways, ❤️ your posts.
Thank you for liking my posts; I’m glad they were able to give some information and maybe a little entertainment. Unlike the Targs, the historical Starks don’t really get a lot of page time, so it’s hard to say who did what or when especially during the Kings of Winter era. Some dishonorable mentions:
Rickard “the Laughing Wolf” Stark, who took the Neck (previously a region that kept to itself and allied with the other northerners to repel invaders) from the last Marsh King and forcibly married his daughter (if it had been a peaceful marriage alliance, that would’ve been mentioned)
All the Starks that ruled during “the Worthless War” for 1000 years, that cost thousands of lives for a region they eventually lost interest in. Special dishonorable mention is to whoever instigated the Rape of the Three Sisters (wiki said possibly Theon the Hungry Wolf), which seemed to involve indiscriminate slaughter of civilians and mass executions
Brandon “the Burner” Stark, for burning all the shipyards because his dad disappeared. The north hasn’t had strength at sea since, even though there were Essosi pirate raids from the east, ironborn raids from the west, and wildling raids from the north
Cregan Stark, for executing war criminals yet marrying one himself (cuz she smells like woodsmoke not flowers! Never mind she was burning smallfolk lands), for putting an end to a succession crisis due to bad family planning yet starting one due to marrying 3 times and siring 10 kids, then not naming a definite heir when his oldest son predeceased him
Some people talk about how House Stark is going through a redemption arc for what its rulers had done to others. And yes, there were several Starks who seemingly committed atrocities in the name of conquest, and others who aligned themselves with criminals for their own benefit, and still others who committed fatal mistakes not in the interest of their subjects. Even if they are the protagonist house, they aren’t and have never been perfect.

Hey, I saw your Ares post!! I think what's noteworthy is that Zeus, Apollo, and Heracles all raped people. (Also, technically Zeus is supposed to uphold justics and whatnot.) I don't know Greek mythology as well as you, though, that's just what I think! <3
That's true. I didn't make this point in that post (though I did mention it previously), but the fact that the others do commit that kind of thing only makes it clear that someone not wanting one of their female relatives to be raped doesn't have to mean that they are opposed to rape in principle.
As for Ares, people often point out that he is the only Greek god with no rape myths, but, to be fair, with two or three exceptions his sexual adventures are about as detailed as the genealogies in the book of Genesis. So it might be technically accurate, but only because we know nothing about the vast majority of unions he engages in beyond the name of the mother and the identity of the resulting offspring. There are also instances where he behaves like other gods, fighting with others over a specific woman (Tanagra) or making use of disguise in order to impregnate someone (Phylonome), so Imma say that his reputation as someone who is particularly concerned with consent does seem to come pretty much out of nowhere.
There is this very interesting post discussing the connections between war, the sacking of cities and sexual violence. To quote a part of it: „this epithet ['Sacker of Cities'] cannot be interpreted as distinct from sexual violence. Sacking, as Gaca explains, is systematically killing all warriors and violating all women and girls to ensure they are subdued, owned, and forcibly bear your own children, which doubles the ownership. This is not frowned upon or the work of foot soldiers; rather, these are their orders from their commanders. Ares is continually used as a metaphor, a personification of this practice, and so is anything but unproblematic in both our modern eyes and the Greeks' own religion; he is a revered god as much as one to keep far, far away”

These are a lot of examples of something that "never happens".
By Anna Slatz March 28, 2024
A female inmate at the Women’s Correctional Center in Washington has come forward to reveal that she was sexually assaulted by a violent transgender sex offender who was transferred into the women’s prison in 2021.
For the purposes of this article, the female inmate will be referred to as “Mary” in order to protect her privacy and prevent her from experiencing institutional repercussions.
Reduxx was provided Mary’s testimony through letters she passed on to an internal source, who then relayed the information out of the institution on her behalf.
Mary explains that the incident occurred in April of 2022 after a transgender inmate named Christopher Williams asked to be moved into her cell. Williams had previously been serving his sentence at a male facility, and has a criminal history including sex offenses and violent assault.
“Christopher asked if he could move into my room because he said his current roommate was bullying him … I had no issues with him being a transgender. But then he would make weird comments like ‘it hurts when it fills up with blood,’ like he wanted me to know when he was having an erection.”
Mary says that she became increasingly uncomfortable with Williams’ behavior towards her, which had a near-constant sexual undertone. At one point, Williams appeared to become frustrated with Mary’s lack of interest in him, and started issuing disturbing threats of sexual violence.
“He said to me, ‘I don’t know why you don’t want [my dick]. Everyone else does.’ Then he started to follow me into the bathroom. And one time he told me, ‘Just so you know, I can get you wherever I want.'”
Mary says she was voicing her concerns to staff, but was “pretty much being ignored.”

A trans-identified male who sexually assaulted three female employees at a disability support organization, of which he was a representative, has been sentenced to six years in prison for his crimes. Kazumi Watanabe, 57, who claims to “have a woman’s heart,” was sentenced March 27 at the Osaka District Court’s Sakai branch.
Watanabe was first arrested on February 7, 2023, after he was accused of sexual assault by multiple female staff members. At the time of his arrest, Watanabe was the owner and head of Aoi Sodanshitsu, a public company that provided services for disabled or otherwise disadvantaged individuals and their families. The company had an agreement with the municipal government of Takaishi, Osaka Prefecture, which referred people with vulnerabilities to Aoi Sodanshitsu for assistance when needed. Watanabe and his staff would then provide supportive consultations and referrals to relevant welfare services.
According to the indictment, Watanabe sexually assaulted multiple female employees and patrons of the business in 2021, luring them into a vulnerable position under the guise of giving them a “massage.” In order to make his victims comfortable enough to trust him, he’d claim he was not sexually attracted to women and had the “heart of a woman.” After they allowed him to touch their bodies, he would sexually assault them. In at least one of the cases, Watanabe raped a victim by forcible penetration.
One woman, in her forties, was a client of the disabilities counseling project. As Watanabe began to massage her, groping her breasts and genitals, he made comments about touching her “pubic bone,” and suggested he could make her breasts bigger, and made her walk around in her underwear.
In its decision, the District Court stated: “The method of committing the crime under the pretense of a offering a massage by lying about his gender identity was cunning, and the fact that he repeated it clearly showed that he had sexual distortions. He also took advantage of his position. This is a strong condemnation.”

A trans activist drag queen is standing trial for 2019 charges related to the sexual abuse of a teen boy he met through gay hookup app Grindr. Dwight Evan Chisholm, also known as “Sno Wight,” was already a lifetime entrant of the sex offender registry when he began grooming the boy.
As previously reported by Reduxx, Chisolm was initially convicted in 2011 on charges of sexually assaulting a child and sentenced to three years in prison in Brown County.
Upon his release in 2015, Chisolm was listed in official records as homeless and was therefore ordered to report his whereabouts to authorities on a weekly basis. But two years later, the Wisconsin Department of Corrections lost contact with Chisolm, who had stopped making the mandatory weekly declarations of his location. For the following year and a half, authorities were unable to locate him.
In December of 2018, the state’s District Attorney’s office charged Chisolm with failure to provide information as a sex offender and a judge signed a warrant for his arrest.
That's a lot of sexual violence from mem who claim to be women

Parallels Between Kaze to Ki no Uta and Blue Velvet
Tumblr media
Whenever I read a manga, I take notes and such on the side as I'm reading it. I went through those notes for Keiko Takemiya's Kaze to Ki no Uta, which was an even more rough read for me than the first time that I read Berserk, and I had a thought; the scene in the first arc which has this page is oddly similar to the scene in David Lynch's Blue Velvet where Frank Booth is introduced. CWs; discussions of drugging, sexual violence, misogyny/patriarchy; everything that happens in Kazeki and Blue Velvet, pretty much.
What happens in each scene is very similar; a horrified protagonist powerlessly witnessing a rape in the other side of the room which they are in. The impact is very similar, one of terror and confusion with a level of the absurd. The thematics are very similar as well, with Frank Booth's sexual violence throughout Blue Velvet *always* being half an attempt at real sexual pleasure, half an attempt at forcibly asserting a position of patriarchal dominance. The parallels are much more pronounced in the OVA, since that's in a semi-cinematic medium rather than manga, but the feeling was always there. Much of this came to mind when I thought to myself about how similar Auguste Beau and Frank Booth are conceptually. They both function as living examples of the Lacan quote which goes "masculinity is the pervert's position", they both obsessively control an otherwise picturesque rural environment through intimidation and shadow power, they both use a mix of blackmail, rape, and mercenary violence to torment and suppress those who pose a threat to them, and they both have a high level of familiarity with drugs, though Auguste doesn't have a cpap machine filled with strong drugs. I'm not sure if a parallel could be drawn between Dean Stockwell in the film and Jean-Pierre Bonnard in Kazeki, though both serve as the other half of their respective shadow tyrant's double-bind. Since Kazeki started a full decade before Blue Velvet, the latter could not have inspired the former and I don't know if manga piracy was advanced enough for it to reach the United States for David Lynch to read after his Dune adaptation crashed and burned. However, if I was to ask this to David Lynch, he'd probably tell me that they were both drawing on the same experiences, emotions, and ultimately societal systems. I remember once joking to my therapist that the plot of Death in Venice happened three separate times in the first Drakengard game and since he's a Jungian, he joked about Yoko Taro having the same "collective unconscious connection" as Thomas Mann. If a difference were to be drawn between Kazeki and Blue Velvet, it might be that the latter is much more optimistic. Despite how horrific, lurid, and simply bizarre Blue Velvet is as a genre pastiche of 50's Film Noir films such as Sunset Boulevard or Double Indemnity, Blue Velvet is ostensibly a film about the hero defeating the bad guy and saving the day. It was set at a point which was deep enough into the Aeon of Aquarius that the segmentary systems of heirarchic violence which sustain patriarchy, portrayed in the film as sexual or mercenary violence going downward from a symbolic father to those who are contained within his regime, had imploded so heavily that Patriarchy was rapidly ripping itself apart and self-destroying. The film, furthermore, takes a similar position to patriarchy to what Marx is described by Bataille as having taken about Capital, where once all of its various obstructions toward Human Development are simply removed, Humanity will flourish once more. With Kazeki, however? It's set during a time when there are some old people who were alive when Mary Wollstonecraft was still alive, when universal suffrage is many decades into the future, when the authoritarian rule of the church and the nobility is *only beginning* to be contested, when colonialism is at its highest levels of brutality (which the manga makes very clear, connecting Auguste's brother's incest and generalized sadism to his position as a colonial official in French Indochina), and in which the development of all of the forces of oppression and unfreedom present will not begin to be possible to assail until the First World War destroys their productive capabilities at least. Auguste Beau isn't as much of a cartoon villain as Frank Booth, furthermore, and has an ability to check his boundless hatred for all which is young and beautiful for the sake of self-preservation, rather than simply erupting into ultimately self-destructive violence at the slightest notice.

Danny Masterson, 'That '70s Show' Star, Convicted on Two Charges of Rape - Variety
Danny Masterson, the former star of “That ’70s Show,” was convicted Wednesday on two counts of forcible rape.
The jury could not reach a verdict on a third rape charge, deadlocking with a vote of 8-4 in favor of conviction.
Masterson faces a potential sentence of 30 years to life in prison on the two charges. Shortly after the clerk read the guilty verdicts, there was an audible gasp from Masterson’s family, who were seated in the audience.
Masterson was accused of raping three women at his Hollywood Hills home between 2001 and 2003. The jury convicted him of raping two women in 2003, but could not reach a verdict on an allegation from November 2001 involving a former girlfriend.

After @chelonianmobile asked for constructive criticism to be put in ao3 comments for their fic With Pearl And Ruby Glowing (all the tws for this), I left one in which I said I was a CSEM survivor, relevant because the fic is about rape and this particular one had CSEM. (link goes directly to comment without the fic content) In the ensuing chain, chel repeated the antisemitic conspiracy theories I had criticized as being harmful, and speculated and asked about my abuse constantly when I brought it up once (specific comment) . Over a month later, they're still vagueing me, often with reference to my abuse (one, two, three, four). This all started when they bragged on a private forum, of which we're both members, about the chapter they'd written a critic into to be made fun of and be forcibly institutionalized, based on evidence they claimed to be able to provide that he had harassed them in various ways. The presented "evidence" was missing, irrelevant, or in no way provable to be the same person. To protect his privacy after that harassment, I'm not including any of it, but here's an archived version of the reblog chain where chel stated they did this, and the original ask, which is still live. With the continued and escalating vagueing, I have reason to believe that their behavior may escalate again, with me as the victim this time. Don't believe anything they say.

you obviously know nothing about what "terfs" believe in. radical feminism is a far left movement. your whole rant is so embarrassing and clearly shows you've never read any feminist theory, been in feminist spaces, or interacted with a single radical feminist ever.
if radical feminism is far left, why do you and the far right both want to commit genocide against trans people, sex workers, homeless people, disabled people, etc.? I've never seen a single radfem say one positive thing about any of those groups of people. it's always "they are a disgrace to feminism! they shouldn't exist! they make all women look bad! we need to get rid of them all!"
and before you say "oh genocide is such a strong word", this is the official definition of genocide from the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide: The Convention defines genocide as any of five "acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as such." These five acts were: killing members of the group, causing them serious bodily or mental harm, imposing living conditions intended to destroy the group, preventing births, and forcibly transferring children out of the group.
you already have at least three of these right now for transgender people. trans people are more than four times more likely to be murdered, assaulted, or raped. laws are being passed to strip them of their rights, and you freaks scream so much about "protect the children" which you think can only be enacted by forcing the child to live in a very specific restrictive and harmful way, rather than letting the child make their own decisions. sex workers are also facing some of these, particularly by making their work illegal. you paint all sex workers as helpless victims being trafficed by some gross man, but most of them are literally just people who record their own porn at home to make money, and rather than victims of abuse, are instead victims of poverty and capitalism. if you actually cared about helping them, you'd fight to raise the minimum wage and get rid of stupid restrictions that prevent them from working normal jobs, instead of throwing them in jail because they sell their own ass pics online. homeless people are also major victims of capitalism, as well as being tightly interconnected with the trans community. a large portion of houseless people are trans, and trans people are more likely to be homeless than cis people, mainly due to transphobia. but rather than helping them, ie providing them with houses and jobs and accessible food and water, you want to make it illegal for them to exist, and encourage police to destroy their tents and steal what little possessions they have. and disabled people get the most shit. as someone whos both physically and mentally disabled (plantar fasciitis and arthritis at age 20, as well as autism, anorexia, and add), I can tell you first hand that we get treated like absolute shit, and half the time aren't seen as human. I was fired from my last job because I dared to ask to use a cane at work. nothing is accessible for us, we are constantly excluded from society, and if we ever want to get married and have children, our benifits are taken away. I've seen multiple instances of children being taken away by cps from moms with eating disorders or histories of self harm. they think that because they had trouble taking care of themselves in the past, that they are incapable of healing and unable to provide for their children. even worse, people constantly beg people with autism and adhd not to have kids for fear of passing down autism and "cursing their children with that terrible illness". I can say that ignoring the people who constantly treat you like shit, living with autism is absolutely fine and not at all a curse.
I've never seen any single one of you terfs advocate for the rights of these groups even a single time. it's always hate and bigotry with you. you'd rather us all die than do a single thing to make any of our lives moderately easier. I doubt you even see any of us as human. and you dare call yourself a feminist? you dare call yourself left wing? you make me sick. honestly I think every single one of you needs therapy.
