Hate when someone comes in saying my naturopath is an EXPERT in (topic) that's why you have to order all the blood tests she thinks I need and I'm like honey she missed that you have a red flag symptom for cancer you understand there is a reason I do not trust her judgements

#it's usually menopause #it can also be adrenal fatigue that's a favourite #at least the list the patient today had i could confidently talk through why i didn't recommend some of the tests #and why some i probably wouldn't say were necessary but i didn't mind ordering #with a fair degree of confidence #and the thing is: often the naturopaths set them up to distrust the doctor #really encouraging an adversarial relationship #that's not great #rowena adventures

Hey. Hey @staff - while I appreciate not seeing posts from people who blocked me (for the most part anyway, that function often glitches out), you GOTTA stop hiding their replies on my post. That’s not great.

Because it allows people to say whatever they want in the replies and then cowardly hide behind blocking OP, preventing them from deleting (or reporting) the replies since the OP of that post can no longer see the replies.

If it’s on my post, where I’m the OP, I need to retain the control over my own post, to the degree of deleting inappropriate and unwanted replies.

I do not need to engage with them. I just need the ability to scrub their filth off my own post.

When I make a post about a trans character, I do not want some gross ass troll misgender that character in my notes and then be able to hide behind blocking me. I need to be able to remove those replies from my post. Because nobody opening the notes on a post about a trans character should have to read transphobic bullshit; I, as the OP of the post, ought to have the tools to delete those replies, whether that person blocked me or not.

Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 3 are both better than Kingdom Hearts 2 because they implement better plot integration in the Disney Worlds.

Today’s the first day of the new job where I actively do not feel well so we get to see how that goes. But thankfully I only work today and tomorrow before a day off. I literally woke up with a pounding headache in the back of my skull (thanks Chiari!) and then I’ve been fighting nausea and normal headache pain.

#That's not great #Considerably less than ideal #It's been stuck and only half-functional for about a week now so I decided to look up how to remove and replace #Figured it'd be a fairly easy one and done - there was in fact gunk underneath and for a moment I was like #''Hella I'm such a handy repairperson'' lol #And then I snapped one of the Extremely Small and Delicate connectors and felt a whole lot less handy and repair-y #Still can't figure out how tf it's supposed to go together it's three fucking pieces and it's confusing as all hell #It's like playing the world's worst game of Operation except rather than getting zapped (thank goodness) you just can't go up a page - ever #That's not entirely true the little rubber nub does still work but it's not a /key/ y'feel #Which is especially not great since that's how I have Mother 3 mapped currently #Yeah roast me w/e I played all of Earthbound with the arrow keys and I'm not about to stop now #Also Mother 3 and Deltarune??? The UI tho #Which makes sense for Earthbound and Undertale's relationship I guess lol #Oh yeah and more technology frustration - my computer decided to restart without telling me and didn't save my Mother 3 session #So I got to replay for like a half hour to get back to where I was /when I had last saved/ ////game////#I'm fine I'm not frustrated at all #At least I use the up arrow with my middle finger and I've gotten into the habit of pressing down with my nail #Basically turning my finger over to use the arrow - it's like a home-grown key replacement lol #I will look up how to replace this mechanism but not tonight I'm too mad

Duolingo Sucks, Now What?: A Guide

Now that the quality of Duolingo has fallen (even more) due to AI and people are more willing to make the jump here are just some alternative apps and what languages they have:

"I just want an identical experience to DL"

Busuu (Languages: Spanish, Japanese, French, English, German, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Polish, Turkish, Russian, Arabic, Korean)

"I want a good audio-based app"

Language Transfer (Languages: French, Swahili, Italian, Greek, German, Turkish, Arabic, Spanish, English for Spanish Speakers)

"I want a good audio-based app and money's no object"

Pimsleur (Literally so many languages)

Glossika (Also a lot of languages, but minority languages are free)

*anecdote: I borrowed my brother's Japanese Pimsleur CD as a kid and I still remember how to say the weather is nice over a decade later. You can find the CDs at libraries and "other" places I'm sure.

"I have a pretty neat library card"

Mango (Languages: So many and the endangered/Indigenous courses are free even if you don't have a library that has a partnership with Mango)

Transparent Language: (Languages: THE MOST! Also the one that has the widest variety of African languages! Perhaps the most diverse in ESL and learning a foreign language not in English)

"I want SRS flashcards and have an android"

AnkiDroid: (Theoretically all languages, pre-made decks can be found easily)

"I want SRS flashcards and I have an iphone"

AnkiApp: It's almost as good as AnkiDroid and free compared to the official Anki app for iphone

"I don't mind ads and just want to learn Korean"

"I want an app made for Mandarin that's BETTER than DL and has multiple languages to learn Mandarin in"

ChineseSkill (You can use their older version of the course for free)

Shit man, this wizard war is fucked. I just saw a guy clap his hands together and say "the ten hells" or some similar shit, and every one around him turned inside out, had their tibia explode and then disappeared.
