41. Link a fic that made you think, “Wow, I want to write like that.”
oh, lots. but today I'll highlight blood under nails - I remain in love with @snowsheba's prose, and I love how dark it is, how it takes the perspective of "Rhen never wanted this" and takes it to its worst possible conclusion. I've always had trouble digging into the darker, harder parts of characters, despite that consistently being some of my favorite things to read (both in original & fan fiction) and so I always really admire writing that does it so beautifully.
43. If you take/write prompts: what’s your favorite prompt fic that you’ve written?
I hate to say the te'ijalahad one, especially when that prompt was the vaguest, and when I finally get around to writing my next batch of prompts that might not be the case, but left undead!
Of the ones where I have more explicit prompts, probably growing from the ground up. I really liked having a reason to write AV2 fic - since it typically doesn't come to me naturally - and I was a little more creative with the format than I tend to be.

A BROTP I have with said character: I’ve NEVER played Insurgence in my life but I know for a FACT that Zenith and Geara would be best friends/brothers. But I’d also say that it’s probably a good thing they’re in separate games... I can only imagine the opposite, honestly. And what I imagine is pure hellfire. Don’t put these two in a room together they’ll probably bond over their sick-ass legendaries they’re weirdly religious about; explosives and hating children. And dick jokes.
Madelis + Eli are also characters I’d say have a funny dynamic with him... Eli in previous versions used to interact w/ Geara and Geara would treat him with more respect than Sharon so SDHGJFGH that’s definitely something I think about often!
A NOTP I have with said character: Honestly any ship that involves him and a woman. Not only because he’s straight as a swirly straw but because I personally think she could do way better. I think every single girl forced to look at him at least once in their lives deserves financial compensation. A random headcanon: HEADCANON SPEED-ROUND! 🎇 (woo!)
Geara wears so many cosmetics it’s insane. Earrings, eyeliner, foundation, hair gel, dude definitely uses a hair ironer, SOOO much cologne THIS GUY STINKS, aaand glitter. He puts glitter in his hair, yes. He claims it’s the manliest shit ever.
He enjoys EVERY single Ghost Pokemon. All of them. Not a single one he dislikes. Ask him if he hates one and he’ll punch you in the face and spit on you.
He smokes. Why? Because he thinks it makes him look cool.
He owns a bass guitar, and it sits right in his room! Does he know how to play it? No. He owns it because it makes him look cool... Or so he believes.
He is 5′0′‘. He’s so short you could pick him up.
And finally... He’s actually an AMAZING singer. I’d compare his vocal range to that of Devin Townsend’s. Operatic, can hold notes -- but can also SCREAM like he’s in a metal song. His voice is relatively deep too, so he surprisingly has a pretty silky singing voice! Will he ever sing? No. That’s embarrassing.
General Opinion over said character: i kinda think i’m in love with him but i also wish he’d die

You have NO idea how excited I was to see this in my asks!! I think this may be the first Q I’ve ever gotten that wasn’t solicited through some kind of askbox-related reblog, so I was very very !!!!!! Heart eyes!! GAH. ❤️🥰😍
I’m gonna start by blessing you all with these exquisite (very real, I hasten to add) images:
Had me absolutely creaseddddd. I know the latter circulates on Tunglr dot com fairly regularly but I'd totally forgotten about it until I Googled "witch seaside". 🤣😂
In terms of what Mel would ACTUALLY wear to the beach, though…?? I mean, you Google her name and what do you get? Tails and tiddies. The woman just loves being naked, what can I say? But alas. She, too, burns exceedingly easily, and so at Lucy’s behest (doctor, and all that) she’d -- grudgingly, I'd like to stress -- throw on some Ariel/Little Mermaid shell-style bikini-type-Thing, plus a hat, sunglasses and copious amounts of sunscreen.

I briefly considered having her dress to the hilt, like Winter, because that seemed eminently funny to me, but given her affinity for the sea I think she'd want to be wearing as little as possible. And her outfit would presumably be fashioned from natural materials/elements.
She'd spend the day swimming, lounging and/or summoning increasingly large waves for others to surf. Luce, maybs. Or Tintin. The latter riding >insert terrifying, Lovecraftian sea beast here<, lol.
And, being something of a drinker herself, she'd probs spend a certain amount of time at the bar, too. Her drink of choice alternates between a good ol' fashioned G&T and a Dark N' Stormy. Double, in either case. Which she'd get for free, seeing as her rizz game when not crush-directed is actually p strong!
I’m gonna rope the rest of the gang into this, bc why not?? (Hope that's okay, given that this Q was for Mel specifically!)
If by some miracle someone -- Tintin, maybe; persuasive as she is -- has managed to drag Seb away from his dragon-like hoard of reading material, dusty teacups and old, VHS-recorded BBC docus, I would imagine he'd simply wear his suit to the beach. Indeed, I’m not sure he owns any other clothes. Just the same suit, over and over. Like SpongeBob.
He’d roll his trousers up to his knees, throw his tie over his shoulder and paddle about in the surf for a bit, likely discovering some interesting Specimens in the process, which he’d inevitably spend the rest of the day studying.
Maybe he'd even get stung by a jellyfish. Because that just seems like a very Sebastian thing to do. :) He'd find the experience absolutely fascinating, I'm sure!
If not surfing then Palatyne is wayyy off in the distance, visiting more of her sea monster pals. She can dive to crRAZY depths! Oh, and she was the one who packed the picnic (she loves baking). Melior is skulking about in some dark, damp cave nearby, doing God knows what. I've very little idea of what she gets up to most of the time and quite honestly I don't want to know.
If we’re going by ML lore then Lucy's there too. Reading, sun-bathing or engaging in some form of water-based sport. She and Tin’d take turns being the Mom Friend; Lucy more so bc in this universe she’s a medic and therefore Very Sun Safety Conscious! So she’d chase people around with sunscreen until they ran out of steam (girl's got mad stamina when it comes to anything health-related). Maybe she'd even put the stuff in a water gun and squirt it at passersby, regardless of who they are/whether she knows them or not. 😂 She'd also surreptitiously order Mel and whomever else several waters/soft drinks for every alcoholic beverage they consumed.
I’m thinking she probs burns p badly too! Or at the very least comes away having gained a number of freckles. 🥰🥰
The day probs ends w a beach bonfire and a meal prepared by Tintin. Seb and would Luce get all excited about how clear this sky is, allowing them to do a bit of stargazing! Seb would give Mel a piggyback back to the teleportation point, bc she's so sleeeeepy(/drunk, lmao).
(Bonus: If worlds collide and Jack tips up at any point Mel'd make it her mission to try to wipe him out with one of her Big Waves! Whether she’d actually succeed? Remains to be seen. Mans is slippery.... 🤨 And a good surfer, I'm guessing! (Is his board made out of ice? Bc that’d be RAD.))

:DDD right now i am brainrotting. a drabble from elora POV as a character study of mel (yes i know it's been done before but i wanna get a feel for her + mel before i write something longer with her). and also overworked whump for mel post s1 finale because i feel like the council will be in shambles, especially given some/all of them may not have survived, and mel will be thrust into most of the decision-making/dealing with the fallout. and in my brain whatever magic she does to keep from dying drained most of her energy but she Kept Going because her city needed her and hhhhhh and also her mom is causing Problems. and the third is a roleswap au that i am still figuring out exactly how i want it to go but i have a vague idea of what role each character will have in this au i just need a plot alskdjfkalsjf
