an exciting life milestone for me was when i was finally able to buy a full set of matching flatware instead of having a drawer full of mismatched thrift store cutlery, because it meant all of my forks were equally usable instead of being ranked from best to worst. making secret political choices about who got which fork when setting the table; always having to dig through the drawer to check if the best fork was clean; realizing that only the bad forks were left and hand-washing the best fork because the alternative was using one of the bad forks; all these things and more are behind me now in this, the new phase of my adult life (the one with the matching flatware)

#original #the best forks were the really slender ones with only three prongs but we only had one dinner and one salad fork of that style #the salad fork was obviously the superior of the two #the worst ones had big round handles ugh ugh ugh

After, I don’t know how many hours, I would like to present what post-prison c!Dream basically looks like in my mind.

things you may not have noticed:

- His hair is cc!Dream’s color with grey roots from malnutrition, white streaks from the revive book testing, and a red tinge because the blood from months of torture dyed his hair due to only having hot water to clean it and the malnutrition making his hair more porous.

- The mask is literally the smile from his profile and the green is the same shade as his Minecraft skin.

- His armor and weapon colors are also actually taken from Minecraft enchanted netherite.

- His armor is a bit mismatched and ragged because this is not his nice shiny Nightmare gear, but the no doubt less OP and more hastily thrown together set after prison.

- You may notice he has a more almost feminine frame. This is because given his frequent twerking I imagine he was rather curvy before being starved in prison.

{things you can’t see but in my mind are there: his eyes are of course green behind the mask and I was going to put one of his dead parrot’s feathers in his hair but it didn’t look right, so just imagine it’s there.}

Can you explain a little more about the impact the hermit charity fundraiser had on the operating budget?

i was going to go back and find my discord messages about it from the time, but i have a far more reliable source available - the gamers outreach press release/blog about their annual report. (and, for posterity's sake, the actual tax audited annual report itself for 2022 is linked in that same blog, it's just a pdf download, which is why i'm not linking it here.)

there are a lot of things to be said about it, but honestly, this paragraph i think says everything:

for context, the hermitcraft charity stream raised $439,599. if they raised $4.2 million that year, that means that we raised a full 10% of the money they raised that year.

elsewhere in the article they mention directly ways that the hermitcraft charity stream made an impact on their 2023 plan, how they handled the go karts, and other ways things changed because of the fact that they had that much more money than they'd had the year before.

which is still kind of insane to think about, really, but i cannot express enough: we made an impact on the operating budget of this charity, and their ability to actually deliver their promise of go karts to children in hospitals around the us.

which is pretty wild, right?

i'm excited we're doing it again this year. lets see if we can give them 10% more moneys again, yeah?
