It's kind of funny that Kendall and Shiv are both equally delusional about their ability to charm people for business and somehow think they can do it even though they choke almost every single time, whereas it's like the one thing Roman is consistently good at despite being the "least legitimate" option.
I think part of this comes down to the fact that Shiv and Kendall both have very clear ideas of the versions of themselves they're trying to be and the images they're trying to project, and they're trying so hard to be seen that way that they end up coming off as a little desperate and off-putting. Meanwhile Roman "knows" that there's something wrong with him and he's worthless, so he doesn't get sucked into the trap of trying to force people to see his idea of himself and instead molds himself into whatever he thinks the other person wants from him because that's the only way he can compensate for "being him," which works very well in the short term but also means he's the least capable of maintaining any relationship for very long because he has no sense of self.

I'm sure many of you have seen the new Among Us x A Hat in Time announcement by now, which consists of new cosmetic items based off of the AHiT characters as part of the new Indie Cosmicube.
However, what I've not heard as much discussion about is the new art featured in the promo.
"New art?" you ask, glancing at the familiar sprite art of the AHiT characters in the background. "I guess Bow Kid's looks new..."
"But what about the rest of them?" I ask, smirking.
"Those have been around for years!" you protest.
"Ah-ha!" I raise a finger, a witty smile spread across my face, "but have they?"
In fact, all of the main character sprite art in the background of this promo has been redrawn. Some, like Hat Kid's, has even had design changes as well.
Let's start with Hat Kid:
Overall new shading and smoother painting lines, including added highlights and shadows to create more depth
New eyes that give her a more cheery and childish appearance
New, more expressive mouth with fangs!
Updated stars on her umbrella
More detailed ears
Below you can see some of the areas pointed out and the original art we've had for years.
Next, Mustache Girl:
Again, completely new shading and highlights
New, sharp gremlin teeth (I'm loving all of the new teeth choices here, Jenna)
Brand new eyes
Changed left eyebrow position to give a more "evil" expression
New styled nose to match the other, newer art
Next, The Conductor:
New shading and highlights
More light spill/reflections on his dark clothing and hat (see the underside of the bill and the left side of his arms/collar)
Larger tongue
Slightly more plump tie
Cleaner line art, specifically on his right hand
The crows are the same from the Welcome to Mafia Town title card, as pictured here:
I didn't bother making a GIF since they didn't have any changes!
~ ~ ~
That about sums it up I think. That new Bow art is super cute, and I can't wait to see it in full. Oh, did I not mention? Gears for Breakfast didn't spend all of this time redrawing these classic images just for some Among Us promotion. Or rather, they might have, but a little birdy told me that we'll be seeing them again soon...
For what? I have no idea. No clue there. But you can be assured that we'll be getting the full, brand new versions of these pieces of art in the near future!

I’m pro Nesta and anti IC=anti SJM because there’s no CANON accountability for those 500 plus year olds and sjm seems to have ‘accidentally’ made nesta way too relatable/understandable 😊 it’s THAT simple. pm me, argue with me, instead of anon harassing

Oh my fuck.
The entitlement some of you people in the fandom have. It's baffling. Absolutely mind-boggling.
Tell me, how the fuck were you raised and where exactly did you find this audacity? The sheer audacity.
Fanfiction is fucking free, it's beautiful, it's a community. It's an art.
So many people, including myself, go on and on about how amazing ao3 is and how insanely good the writers are.
The reason for this is, they do it because they love it. They hold such passion and love for it; the writing, the characters, the story. And they want to share it. They do it with their heart.
Now how dare you trample on it like this? Act as if you're entitled to it. As if you're fucking owed something, as if it's merely a product you paid for.
It's a gift and all you should be is motherfucking grateful, nothing less.
Not a curse word vile enough to convey what I feel exists.
Fuck yourselves.

Thinking more about the kind of story The Cursing of Château Castle is. I forgot to add in that post I made the description of the "general story" of it but I think the bookcases in the Castle-Loving One's house is lined with that book and Siffrin describes it as "a story where bad things happen to good people" when he originally thought it was romance because of Mirabelle being a big romance fan.
I'm specifically thinking about the fact that Issue #48 is the most hated one out of 87. If we think about this some more, the book's length per issue is possibly short, estimatedly around a 1 hour to 2 hours read. Considering how Mira was able to read Issue #87 in ten minutes, it could be that she's a fast reader or it could also be that she skimmed through some parts of it. Either way, it was possible to read it in ten minutes and still be able to get the gist of it, so each issue isn't very long.
Pierre-Jacques-Erneste betrayed the party in Issue #51, it's only just two issues After whatever happened in 48, so it's very possible that some Heavy stuff happened in #48 that could be where some foreshadowing about his betrayal in the future took place. There might've even be a big argument that happened in it, or someone's life got endangered and it was because of something that Pierre-Jacques-Erneste in a "innocent" manner but too innocently suspicious for the readers and some characters in that story to see that there's something wrong but not Too obviously shown for it to still be a "What a twist!" moment.
It also seems like whatever took place in Issue #51 could possibly be a tense moment from the "What a turn of events!!!" so stuff happening in it might've been a big event after another which makes it all the more exciting. Issue #48 might've set up some stuff for that which made it be the one and only issue out of 87 to have sucked so bad no one liked it.

I kinda like but dislike that Rumiko and Sunrise (and fans) have never even mentioned that miko (priestesses) are virgins. And that their shinto ability to tend holy places comes from being unmarried virgins. In modern day I guess it is not really required but I kind of wish more people analyzed Kikyo, the dark priestess, Kaede and Kagome in that light.
Personally I think that due to the era Kagome would not be allowed to remain a miko after getting married and having a child. She would still be one of course due to her spiritual ability, but I think she would no longer be allowed to remain in that societal role.
Kagome is so spunky though that I see her rebelling against it. I think Kagome's strength in being outspoken is another great contrast between her and Kikyo. While Kikyo was confined by society and was only freed from expectation when she became an impure monster. Kagome was outspoken and loud to where she didn't have much of a societal role and yet remained 'spiritually pure.'
There is a huge theme of 'societal expectation' in Kagome, Inuyasha, and Kikyo that I think being a miko is a part of.
Personally I'm torn on Kagome loudly choosing to get married and have a child VS remaining a Miko and Kagome choosing to attempt to do both.
More thematic headcannons in the tag below..

I’ve seen posts about how CEO/Musk guy = Mac/Fat Mac/Hawaiian Shirt Mac, but not sure if anyone’s made this comparison yet:
I interpreted CEO guy also as a “representative” of Dennis himself… Who he could have been, had he the luxury to make different choices in his life. Who he’d be if he had money and power. Sure, he might look pudgy and un-Vitruvian, but hed be relaxing at the beach and he’d be successful—a winner. Happy. If only he could let go of control in his *actual* existence, if only he could let go of his messed up childhood and trauma etc., he could’ve been somebody…
Somebody loved, somebody with someone like Mac at his core, loving him with enough heart to be as rare as a diamond—or at least trying his best to make it that way (video call, pressure cooker). Diamonds are pure, tough, precious, valuable. Diamonds are forever... But as it is, Dennis will just subsume them, take this form of love in the only way he knows how—through fantasy and violence and, uh, eroticism. It’s the only way he knows, the only way he’s worthy of receiving it. (Side note: He IS willing to receive/take it now, though - huge step!)
My other interpretation was that CEO guy is a “representative” of Dennis’ health. The guy who plays the CEO is literally the doctor who walks past Dennis in the final sequence, so this tracks. Also, the fact that Dennis presses the man’s hand to his own heart first shows that kind of intrinsic connection/understanding. And, as his health personified, the fact that the CEO is pudgy but ultimately happy and successful—while Dennis is ‘beautiful’ BUT tormented and rage-filled, no matter how hard he tries (even in a fucking delusion/fantasy of his own making)—of course the only thing Dennis can do is fucking rip his heart out and pressurise it into a diamond.
In other words, in his delusion, Dennis himself is personifying his mental health issues/inner turmoil, whereas the CEO is personifying all other aspects of his health and life. There truly is greatness (diamond) within Dennis; he knows this (and this is where Mac comes in… they are inextricably linked, after all.). But the only way Dennis knows how to extract this greatness and love is through rage, fantasy and violence and, uh, eroticism again... All of which are coping strategies, bc he doesn’t actually know how to achieve the greatness he’s striving for—that level of perfection is a fallacy, and he also knows he’s fucking doomed no matter how hard he tries because the problem is in his own mind--an eternal byproduct of his trauma. (the ‘not your fault’ throughout is, again, a huge milestone for him, imo)
The main reason I thought all of this, btw, was the simple fact that CEO guy is wearing a red Hawaiian shirt, a la:
The Gang Solves the Bathroom Problem
Which, incidentally, is also the only time we ever witness Dennis outright call himself a ‘straight man’ (when he clearly, painfully isn’t), playing up to a false persona of his own creation, with his real feelings being completely irrelevant. As long as he is pretending to be the perfect person -- his trauma/shitty life experience has taught him is the only way to be -- that’s the most important thing of all. with that, he is in control. he is god.
Hmm yes. Thank you for reading my essay.
