I bought myself a really nice computer monitor for work last year and I love it, but the one thing I wish I could change about it is that it doesn't have a speaker.
It does have a headphone jack, though, so when the day came that I needed to get sound from it, I figured I could just go out and buy a cheap speaker, plug it in with an aux cord, and call it a day. (I'm not picky about audio quality as long as it's, well, audible.)
I went to Best Buy. I went to Walmart. I went to Target. I went to Five Below. I spent over an hour on this fool's errand and came home empty-handed. Everywhere I went, there were plenty of speakers to choose from, but there was one problem.
EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. was BLUETOOTH ONLY.
Don't get me wrong, I love Bluetooth. I have a Bluetooth speaker that I use all the time. It's simple, it's convenient, it's my go-to. It does not, however, have an aux input option.
I didn't realize that had become the norm.
I finally found a speaker I liked with different input options, including aux and Bluetooth, listed on Walmart's website. It was entirely sold out. I ended up buying it off eBay.
I like having different options.
Why are options getting taken away from us?

listen as much as I LOVE the current trend of anime OPs being able to stand as their own singles for radio play, anime OPs in the 90s were just built different
"don't make me wild like you" (ranma 1/2)? a bop neverending
"in the night" (key the metal idol)? beautifully atmospheric
"hohoemi no bakudan" (yu yu hakusho)? eternal
"give a reason" (slayers next)? perfect and on almost every playlist I ever make
"catch you catch me" (cardcaptor sakura)? so catchy and so visually iconic it rewired a lot of our brains in middle school
"rondo revolution" (revolutionary girl utena)? don't even talk to me I'll never stop
"moonlight densetsu" (sailor moon)? of course no one can ever forget or ignore the classic
"cruel angel's thesis" (neon genesis evangelion)? (warning for rapid image flashes) so iconic a convention in 2006 I attended had to ban it from karaoke because so many people kept singing it
they do not make anime OPs like this anymore and I miss that. Love the music we have now but it's not the SAME do you undersTAND ME-

Zero days since some white fuck head hurt indigenous children in Australia.
Guy zip tied a pair of first nations kids, their ages 6 and 7. Allegedly for trespassing and swimming in his pool. He's been arrested but who knows if he'll be charged, Australia loves to let white men go.
I reiterate, two indigenous kids, six and seven years old, zip tied together by a grown ass white guy for the crime of doing things kids do.
Hell i used to hop a neighbours fence to go swimming, the most i got was scolded for not asking. But I'm white, and we all know black kids are disproportionately punished over their peers when it comes to things like this.

Behold! The Havoc Rover!
I’m gonna take some better pictures in the morning with better light and a clean table, show some of the process too, but! Here it is! This is what I’ve been working on instead of writing (and… other stuff I should be doing). It is for a fic though - this is the modified starfighter Crosshair acquires in Rescue on Tatooine. Now that I have the model done, I have no excuses for not finishing the last… few sentences, probably, of the fic itself.
Fun fact: The guns are made from toothpicks, because that’s what I had close by that fit the size etc that I needed, and because this is Crosshair’s ship - how could I not?

Can we just slot away the experiences with those with polyfragmented DID away from DID itself. Cause like. No fucking wonder I didn't realize that I had DID, it's a completely different ballpark.
Like, if you got three ANPs, and the main one has a subsystem with fragments + introjects, no shit are you not going to see a constant interruption of memory. Sure, it's kind of bumpy, but at worst it's just heavy dissociation for a couple of days.
Like. Why have people not made a keen distinction? Why has it been so ignored? I'm frustrated honestly.
Like. Yes, I've always had memory problems, but that can easily be attributed to other things if the symptoms are less severe.
It's honestly fucking frustrating that I run into people that say "tHeRe'S oNlY pOlYfRaGmEnTeD dId" without fucking explaining past the theory of structural dissociation. No theory of structural dissociation is going to HELP ME understand my experiences. Like you're just throwing out words and it's not explaining why or how it works.
It makes me unbelievably pissed. EXPLAIN. Explain that people with a higher tier of structural dissociation have a way more unstable system and that causes a greater number of alters, which lessens dissociative gaps within the fronting group, but may widen the gap between the innerworld alters and fronting alters. Explain how polyfragmented systems work compared to regular DID. Explain that the OSDD-1b label isn't actually what we think it is.
I am tired of stupid fucking idiots on the internet that only deem to quote and paraphrase, instead of doing adequate explanations of what those quoted texts mean. It's absolutely fucking infuriating.
Don't just say that I don't know what I'm talking about, if you're not going to give me adequate reason. These are my experiences, and it's so fucking easy to misconstrue if you're not being overly specific.
And there is literally no damn way to research shit first fucking hand when you need to buy the books, find specific scientific articles or see actual sources. I saw some of you getting mad that we say "DID has little research", but yet to back up your arguments. Why quote something when you barely understand it yourself?
This community needs a fucking overhaul. I am exhausted. We're all just parroting off of each other, as google is not that damn helpful.
I just want more understanding and articulation. Being a polyfragmented system is difficult all on its own, maybe we should understand that the human psyche cannot withstand intense amounts of trauma without breaking down in some form or fashion. It really is confusing that many people try to force the idea that we must face it all alone, you should know that's not how that works.
