I don't know if it's ever said, but I've always thought that the Uchiha clan was never able to retrieve Shisui's body from the river. Why I think so? Because, if I remember correctly (I might be wrong tho), Kabuto says that Shisui was strong enough that he wanted to bring him back but was never able to find enough of his DNA for the Edo Tensei.
That means that Shisui either destroyed his body or he didn't die and he stayed hidden somewhere.
But. What if the clan never found Shisui's body because Danzō's ROOT agents fished him from the Naka? Danzō kept him for a while to try and force Shisui to tell him where his other eye was, but when that didn't happen he didn't have a reason anymore to keep Shisui. He was probably in a very bad shape from his fall in the river and Danzō never really healed him, just keeping him alive enough to talk.
So, Danzō doesn't have a reason to keep him anymore, right? But instead of simply killing him, he waits until after the Uchiha massacre and then gives Shisui to Orochimaru, because Shisui is now one of the last Uchihas and Danzō knows how obsessed Orochimaru is with the Sharingan, and even if Shisui doesn't have one anymore Orochimaru can still use his body for experiments and Danzō gets to keeps Orochimaru as an ally.
And outside of the Sharingan, what's another big thing Orochimaru is known for? Tenzo. The Mokuton. Shisui' body is in a bad shape, Orochimaru probably knows that he won't survive very long anyway so what does he have to lose? Besides, if I remember correctly, Orochimaru doesn't know that his Mokuton experiment had one success until he faces Yamato years later, so he probably still think that it was a total fluke.
So he gets to work, he testes Shisui's body over and over again to find the right way to introduce Hashirama's cells and avoid a possible rejection, experimenting for days on end, finding sick amusement in the way Shisui suffers through it all, begging to be killed. Orochimaru has nothing to lose, Shisui will still die soon one way or the other but if he doesn't? If he survives then Hashirama's cells and their regenerative aspect will keep him alive, and Orochimaru will be able to experiment even more on him.
Of course, Shisui survives (I mean, if he were to die then this AU would stop here) and Orochimaru is ecstatic. He doesn't give Shisui the Cursed Mark only because he doesn't know how it would react with the Mokuton, and he doesn't want to screw everything up once reaching this far. If he didn't really care before, now he wants Shisui to stay alive. And he wants Itachi's eyes to implant them in Shisui's body so that he can create a strong vessel, because Orochimaru decides that he wants to take Shisui's body with both the Mokuton and a strong Sharingan.
He doesn't succeed, of course, Itachi wins against him and Orochimaru leaves the Akatsuki. Itachi doesn't know about Shisui, no one knows about Shisui outside from Orochimaru and Kabuto, and no one finds out until Sasuke years later leaves Orochimaru with Team Taka.
And Imagine with me: Shisui still doesn't have eyes, so Orochimaru orders Karin to teach him to sense chakra so that the Uchiha can still be useful in a way, so when Karin decides to follow Sasuke he brings Shisui with her.
And hear me out: after years of tortures, after years of agony, screaming and begging, eventually Shisui goes mute. He has screamed enough that his vocal cords are fucked up and not even the Mokuton can heal them anymore.
And when Karin takes Shisui with her, Sasuke doesn't recognize him. And why should he? For him, Shisui is dead. And after years in Orochimaru's hands Shisui would be unrecognizable, and at first Shisui doesn't recognize Sasuke, either. He was kept mostly alone, outside from Orochimaru, Kabuto and Karin, because no one had to know who he was so he never heard anything about Sasuke following Orochimaru.
He does know about the massacre, Danzō would have told him just to see him suffer a bit more, but he doesn't know that Sasuke is alive because Danzō didn't tell him. He doesn't know anything and maybe Karin doesn't even know that Shisui is an Uchiha because maybe Orochimaru never told her and Shisui never thought it was important, after all the experiments and suffering going around saying that you're an Uchiha is definitely not a top priority.
Maybe Karin doesn't even know that his name is 'Shisui', maybe he just told her to call him 'Shi', as in 'Death' because he's not Shisui anymore at this point, Shisui died that night in the Naka, he doesn't deserve to keep that name anymore.
So Shisui finds out by chance that Sasuke is that Sasuke Uchiha, that his little cousin is still alive. I don't really know how, but traveling with him and Team Taka he is bound to find out at some point.
But now that he knows, would Sasuke believe him if Shisui said who he really was? How would Shisui even explain all the shit that happened? He's mute and blind, he's only good as a sensor thanks to Karin and as a somehow good enough healer thanks to the curative chakra of the Mokuton, nothing more.
Shisui has no way of expressing himself, being blind he couldn't even learn how to sign, he only remembers some of the ANBU signs but they are useless. He finds a way eventually, maybe he simply tries to write by letting his hand move through muscle memory and then show what he wrote to Karin so she can 'translate' what he wrote in something legible, trying to re-write over and over again parts unreadable until Karin can read the whole story.
I mean, imagine Sasuke's reaction. He wouldn't believe it at first but Shisui wrote things only the real Shisui would know, imagine Sasuke finding out early about Danzō and what Konoha did, about why Shisui decided to kill himself. And Sasuke's not stupid, he would probably make 2+2 about the massacre and about why Itachi left him alive, why Itachi wants so much to die by Sasuke's hands.
And Sasuke doesn't forgive Itachi, not fully, because he still killed the clan, he still slaughtered shinobi and civilians alike, women, men, old and young, he still mentally tortured Sasuke not once but twice, he still joined the Akatsuki and killed who knows how many people in its name, but now Sasuke knows that it's not all Itachi's fault. And he doesn't know if he wants to kill Itachi anymore as much as before, because he wants Itachi's part of the story first, Sasuke wants the whole truth and no more lies, because he thinks, after all he passed, to deserve it.

Well this is genuinely a toss-up, because I have a few which I wrote for 20 minute prompt game fills, and then hardly even bothered to edit before they were thrown up on Ao3 without a backward glance.
Annoyingly, some of them are among my most popular works.

Hope’s Fire! As I said, it’s the monster, currently clocking in at ~144k. My longest completed fic is The Ocean’s Curse though, which is 62.4k!
4. Shortest fic:
Okay so my shortest fic is actually a bit of weird experimental stuff I wrote for Starbound, which you will note I did not list in the fandoms above, lol. It’s old and weird and 351 words long... I don’t think anyone wants to read it. You don’t want to read it.

Hope’s Fire! It’s not really surprising tbh, given how long ago I started it and how many chapters it has.

I mean this is probably gonna sound really dumb but...kinda also Hope’s Fire??
Hear me out tho, because it’s complicated (and also I sorta already am). This fic started in 2015. I love it wholeheartedly, and I keep coming back to tinker and I wish life would stop throwing so much shit in my way and let me devote a bit more time to fic-writing so I continue it properly.
But the periodic and spaced-out returns have meant that every time I knuckle down I end up re-reading the whole fic for continuity and tone reasons. You can probably see where this is going. Each time I read my old opening I cringe. It’s just not up to the standards of my writing today and it bugs me.
If I’m being brutally honest, part of the reason I haven’t updated it in so long is that I keep getting distracted going back and tweaking/fixing old chapters rather than focusing on new ones. It’s a bad habit but one I just can’t seem to kick.
10. Share bit of a WIP or a story idea you’re planning on:
You know, I’m actually gonna give two. I’ll drop them below a cut because this got long, but I know I have both Digimon and HQ peeps here and it’s sucky to be in the fandom that doesn’t get the love. I can’t promise when I’ll manage to get either of these posted (I’m trying to avoid adding more works to my Ao3 until they’re actually, you know, finished) but...they exist!
First up, we have Fun and Games at the Adventure Cafe
Yes, this is exactly what you think it is:
The notice on the door said “HELP WANTED” in large, sensible font.
The addendum “Enquire Within” sat below it, equally formal.
Scribbled underneath in scruffy handwriting was just one more addition:
‘as in we’re hiring. dw we know what we’re doing.’
The notice on the door the following morning was back to plain old:
HELP WANTED
Enquire Within
…It lasted half a day or so, at least.
As Sora remarked later, it was a wonder they got any applicants at all. Then again, as Taichi remarked, it wasn’t as though a lot of places were taking on extra staff—which was something of an oddity as the summer approached.
“It’s that swanky place round the corner,” he said with disgust, peering out of the window. “Bastards are driving everyone out of business.”
“But not you guys, right!” piped up their current interviewee. “You’re doing great! Honestly, as soon as I saw the sign I knew I had to apply. I’ve always wanted to start my own ramen business, and I figure I ought to start out with a popular place like this and get some real experience in the industry, you know?”
“Er, yes. Right,” Sora remarked, looking over his application. “Well, Daisuke, I will have to warn you that as a new hire you’d be working front-of-house rather in the kitchen, but if you’re okay with that—”
“Eh, just tell him he’s hired already,” Taichi replied, turning back to face them with a grin. “Yamato could definitely use a hand in the kitchen sometimes, so taking on a future all-rounder makes total sense.”
From the look Sora shot him, it perhaps didn’t, but Daisuke was already practically leaping to his feet with a grin, exclaiming that they could totally rely on him, and he absolutely would not let them down and could start the next day if they needed him to.
Next up, for my HQ peeps, here’s a little snippet from Connection Problems, my longtime langushing halfway chatfic. I’m not sharing the chatfic stuff because formatting tumblr is hell, though.
Kenma always suspected that being a third year would turn out to be a pain, but he’d rather hoped his fears wouldn’t be realised within the first few weeks of the school year. Really, it’s bad enough that Kuro, Yaku and Kai have left, and that everyone else nominated him for the role of Captain (he’d talked them down to being Vice Captain instead, but that, apparently, was as low as they were prepared to go). He does not need Taketora constantly pestering him about—of all things—a chat group as well.
“Come on, I thought you and Kuroo were like, joined at the hip or something! Don’t try and act like you don’t miss him now he’s at university.”
He shrugs. “I have a phone. We’re keeping in touch.” Because, really. That’s all that matters, isn’t it? Why does everyone have to complicate things so much?
“Yeah, but, it’s not the same, right? Besides, what the hell! You spend all that time on your phone as it is. And even Fukunaga joined, right?”
Kenma glances over at Shouhei, who nods, grinning sheepishly. Drat.
“Still, I don’t have that chat app you all use,” he says. “It’s too much trouble setting it up, when I can message Kuro just fine.”
That should have been the end of it. Any rational person would have seen that it was no good, and left him in peace. Kuro would have, certainly. Not pushing—never pushing, actually. Just nudging him along a little, and even then, only when it comes to volleyball. He’s learnt all of Kenma’s limits over the years.
But the thing is, Kuro isn’t there any more. It’s just himself, Taketora and Shouhei, and okay, Shouhei never pushes—he hardly ever says anything, for that matter. But Taketora is clearly some sort of demon and he, Kenma, is being punished. Maybe he really pissed someone off in a previous life. Maybe this is a penance so he can piss someone off in his next life with a free pass. Either way, the badgering doesn’t let up.
Kenma holds out until the 27th of May. Seven weeks of hassling is more than enough for anyone.

i had a good convo w @gam-zeh-yaavor abt fma so i’m gonna repost (edited a bit) so there’s more clarification on my blog proper abt how i view fma’s stance on war & reparations
me: to start off, i want to remind again that fma is written by a japanese person who's also part ainu. the context there is crucial. jpn war criminals & emperor hirohito got off scott-free. jpn's continued refusal to acknowledge what they did to korea & those policy makers NOT addressing reparations is an enormous point of contention & source of intergenerational trauma.
arakawa is coming from that perspective & she also has a personal stake in this considering she's descended from indigenous peoples who the yamato japanese colonized. & fma does hold roy & the others accountable BY making them use their power to enact meaningful, widespread change. giving up their power is maybe a symbolic gesture but it's not a concrete act to make amends
& the thing is that individual jpn ppl HAVE made monetary reparations to kr survivors of wwii/colonization. & that's all fine & good but it hasn't solved the core issue, the real point of contention, the real source of intergenerational trauma which is the utter lack of real accountability from the ppl who enacted those horrors
& roy & the others are feared. my first post abt this has screencaps from the manga that says that the amestrian uniform is the only thing protecting them, that in times of peace, roy & the others are nothing but mass murderers
bradley & the homunculi are all killed. bradley was killed by scar, an ishvalan survivor. kimblee was killed. fma is clear in this that if ppl refuse to be held accountable, they do deserve to be punished which includes death
gzy: ahhhh. so, in this context, accountability is more a matter of honesty, integrity and goodwill than it is a matter of reparative measures? the thing for me I think is that if I were living in this world as a citizen of ishval - or indeed as a survivor of yamato japan colonisation - I think I would feel very fearful and reticent about the notion of the same war criminals retaining their power and authority
it's definitely better to see people acknowledge their failures and mistakes than not, and it's obviously important that the experience of the victims is acknowledged and respected by a society trying to heal
but like, remembering how albert speer gets to be a part of the UN, I get a pretty bad taste in my mouth thinking about how people who used their influence to do evil hurtful things are in a position to do it again if it's ever convenient for them
actually I have to retract that because it totally wasn't speer. but I recall some other nsdap officials receiving power in the following establishment and that feels busted somehow
it's like... the idea that you can just say sorry and then you get to keep running things feels wrong. the intention to enact reparative measures... is always good. we of course have a lot of "insider info" about the motivations of Roy and the others... but nobody else does. how can a world still so scarred trust the people that inflicted those scars ever again?
me: oh i totally get you! i think that fma differs from those ppl tho bc roy & the other soldiers enact a coup. they dedicated their lives to toppling a corrupt, genocidal government which i would say is the only thing that could be done w a government like that. & the manga also addresses this: roy & the others know perfectly well that ppl will not automatically trust them to run things. they will be put on trial. they're willing to face consequences for their past actions but still work to better conditions
miles & scar are also going to actively work in the new government too so it's not like roy & the others are going to be solely deciding what to do
i mean i hate general macarthur, may he burn in hell eternally, but if he worked to topple the us government? that'll be a hell of a lot more meaningful to me than washing his hands of the whole ordeal
even if he did do that, he'd still need to be put on trial & all that but i'd rather someone like him use the power he has than... not

me: exactly! i think that ppl call fma 'liberal' bc yes it is a kind of wish fulfillment but arakawa is a humanist & fma is rly all abt the strength of individual humans coming together & we can actively choose to make the world a better place. humans are not mere ants like father & the homunculi think we are. our mortality & ability to choose to do better & capacity for genuine love & connection is what makes humans powerful.

my thoughts on Bokura no Mirai

First, like I always say, English is not my first language. I’m from Brazil, I speak Portuguese, so my capacity here to describe and discuss what I want is quite limited. Honestly, I should just scream.
☼ Hikari’s inner monologue broke my poor little heart. We were always together. Then there was a couple of smiling Taichi pics, but zero pics where they were actually with each other. It was a great opportunity to maybe show us an Adventure flashback with the Tri art, just like they did with Yamato and Taichi holding hands!
Their relationship is one of the things I love the most in the Digimon universe, but I often feel Hikari’s side of it may be a result of some negligence towards her character. She deserves more development, both her personality alone and the negative side of her attachment to Taichi; it’s not one-sided, he obviously loves and cares about her just as much, but she is much more defined as a person by it than he is. It’s always onii-chan, onii-chan, onii-chan. Hikari, you’re so much more than Taichi’s little sister. You’re kind, brave, smart, witty and playful and even flirty when you want to be, a great friend, altruistic (although in an unhealthy way)... I see many people complaining Hikari has no personality, and her wasted potential will always make me sad.

Digimon Adventure Tri Stage Play Reaction
Guys, this is not an analysis: this is my feels and obnoxious comments while viewing the stage play. My initial goal was to use these notes to make an analysis, but they’re too funny/stupid/wow to hide from the world. I typed these notes in real time, stopping the play whenever I had a thought. It’s the closest I can get to having you watch me watch the stage play without using videos. I will write an actual meaningful post soon, but for now, have a confused and jumpy/unpolished blob of feels.
The other thing I want to say is that I didn’t edit this after I wrote it, except for surface editing (grammar, spelling) and clarifications (mostly adding more names). So if I formed an impression at some point, that’s what I really thought in that moment; I didn’t go back and change it.
That said: this will completely and totally spoil the stage play. SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS! Read on below the cut (if you dare; it’s almost 4K words long and full of images).
Hidden’s Digimon Adventure Tri Stage Play Reaction
I am immediately not buying that Mimi wouldn't want to camp in the bungalow. Isn't this the kid that went to Tokyo Tower instead of patrolling Tokyo because the tower has AC? I guarantee she'd whine an hour in about wanting the bungalow, but wouldn't allow Koushiro to point out that she made this choice for all of them x__x
Did Mimi just... just throw the laptop? How bratty can you get? I... wow, I really hope they don’t treat my Mimi so poorly the whole play.
From Sora's speech, I can see that nostalgia will be a major theme here, which, to be fair, is appropriate, lol! Nostalgia is pretty much why we’re here.
TAICHI! It’s so good to see you get your big bro on again, lol??? Hikari: "I'm not a kid who needs to wait for you to walk home with me."

Annnnnnd oh hey, it's Yamyams doin' jamjams! I can dig that bass, is he actually playing? Oh hey, he's gonna sing for real, he's- Oh my god, stop! ABORT! He's terrible, hahahaha?!?!?! IT BURRRRNSSS!!!

So Takeru says, "I don't want to see us go our different ways." I've mentioned it over and over, but this feeling is so important to me. It's something I want to write an entire fic around. On the one hand, it's such an easy topic, given the subject material. On the other, it's where my brain keeps going. So... Let's see what happens!
Also: Takeru: "Stay hidden, Patamon!" *puts Patamon on his head and skips offstage* Takeru, sigh...
OH SHIT IT'S ETEMON, saying Taichiiiiihehehehe like a creep ass creeper. He done got beef, too.
Annnnd we cut to everyone reacting because Mimi has no supplies (did you all not bring any?). What I like here, though, is that Jyou can at least talk to her without getting shut down. Poor Kou-chan -__-
Koushiro: "We're amateurs, is there anything we should watch out for?" OH I DUNNO, MAYBE ETEMON IN A HAT AND A VEST god damn I know this is supposed to be funny, but they all look like idiots-

(At this point, my husband is pointing out while playing Destiny that the puppeteers do really good digimon voices, and I'm explaining that the digimon voices are pre-recorded, lol).
ANNNNND Mimi is whining for supplies that she forbade people to bring. I am shocked.
Jyou is talking about how he wants to help digimon by being a doctor, by saving and protecting, and my heart is growing three sizes. Best Chosen, y'all.
But oof, the atmosphere got so heavy... Why do these kids refuse to talk about what they want to do??? Jyou remains refreshing. Also, I'm just noticing how Koushiro turns his entire body around every single time towards whoever is talking? He leans in, too. It's both cute and unexpected (I would expect much more reserved body language, but I get that this is a play and that's what you do).
HAH! Only Jyou can see the shooting star because he's the only one with his shit together! I love that, lol! (Also, is that really Tailmon's voice actress? Hmm...)
NO, ETEMON HAS KOU-CHAN, BAD TOUCH, BAD TOUCH although really it's painful that we're still pretending they can't recognize Etemon.
Koushiro can't read the room... Well, at least that's familiar, lol!
(At this point, my husband is asking what I think, and I'm stuttering over how annoyed I am at the ‘not-recognizing-Etemon’ gag. My husband is laughing at me and saying I'm at a loss for words. Thanks, love.)
HOLY SHIT did Hikari and Mimi just use the tired "scary stories" trope to bring up the Dark Ocean? I'll give 'em points for that. I AM INTRIGUED, let's go!!! Oh. Oh, they broke it off. They're not doing anything with it. That's... sigh. Thanks, guys. (Caterpillar Sleeping Bag Mimi is cute AF tho).
Hmm, right now I'm thinking that Mimi's actress is so lovely and so lively and really feels like Mimi, but... I also can't stand how they wrote her so far. Throwing Koushiro's computer, talking over him, not allowing him to point out when she's contradicting herself, immediately requesting the supplies she forbade people to bring... This stuff annoyed me in Adventure, but she was 10 and in a situation I would have strongly struggled to handle. But now she's literally... Making problems for everyone... For nostalgia's sake... At age 16? I'm so torn, lol, because the acting is so good but ahhhhh... Let's see how this develops...
Hmm hmm, I'm listening to Sora talk about how she doesn't wanna grow up, either... Darling, you're already quite grown up, lol! Lovely lady. I love how the digimon puppeteers echo their puppets, I can't get enough of watching Agumon's puppet and performer while Sora speaks. They really did a great job!
I think I'm about an hour into this, maybe a little less? 45 minutes? So far all that's really happened is that we've established that the characters want to be together as Chosen Children, and that with the exception of Jyou, they aren't emotionally or mentally prepared to seriously think of a future beyond that. I'll be the first to say that this a compelling and interesting topic, and it's something I've wondered about for them, but... Shouldn't... more things... have happened by now? Hmm... I understood that this would be an issue from Sora's very first bit of dialogue. No one in the audience needs this much expansion and repetition, particularly with so few new ideas and so little momentum so far. Tri is intended as a love letter for fans of Adventure, yes? Mostly adult fans? We don’t need this much repetition to understand, we truly don’t...
Ah! Now Yamato is talking about Jyou and how to become an adult, finally dropping some new ideas in. Love ya, Yams. And ahh, man, Taichi is just... screaming all of his lines? The actor is so sweet and cute, but the delivery... I'm pretty sure it's supposed to reflect that Taichi is putting up fronts like nobody's bidness, though. Yamato ain't buyin' it (Yamato is Almost Best). I really want him to grunt, "Tell the truth or shut up." XD XD GRUNT GRUNT.
Augh, god, I can't take this tho? Literally EVERY TIME someone tries to say something that will move the plot forward or inject some vulnerability into this play (except for Papa Jyou), they change the subject. I'm about halfway through now and this has to be at least the 10th time we've been blocked from useful information and deeper thoughts with this method. Tri suffers from this same issue, though... Their plot is such that they can’t sustain tension if issues are faced in a natural way, so they CHANGE THE SUBJECT or DROP A LEAD or IGNORE A LEAD, etc, etc. Here it's mostly saying, "Well what about you?" or screaming someone else's name, which... Subtle??? Ah, Taichi's latest method of not saying anything is to ask Yamato to play his harmonica... Oh my god, he's playing Walk on the Edge! Okay, okay, you got me, stage play. Hahaha, I remember Yams being better at playing a harmonica, tho!!!! (I keep picking on this poor dude who is asked to do all of the awesome shit Yams can do, sorry my dude).
Taichi: Should we sleep?
Yamato: Let's talk some more.
Taichi: (shit! fuck! He remembered I'm dodging-) YES BECAUSE HE ISN'T AN IDIOT EXCEPT WHEN ETEMON IS ONSTAGE OMG SOMEONE HELP ME-
Ahhh, and they fade out... With no forward movement. THANKS. I mean we established mood, touched on Taichi/Yamato’s relationship, and set up the problems that will be address later (I assume), but... It’s so drawn out...
And now Koushiro is drawing on the ground with a stick, bless you, are you trying to compute something? Sigh... Ah, bless, Tentomon is intervening, haha!
But... As right as Ten-chan is, he's also... Wrong? XD DON'T TELL YOUR FORWARD MOVEMENT MACHINE TO POWER DOWN!!! Annnnd yes! We're an hour in and SOMETHING IS HAPPENING! I am so ready for something to happen. (Tony: "Can we handle the stimulation, though?")
Oh god, the kids freaking out over their partners acting weird, Gabumon's stage hand collapsing... God, right in the feels, I'm almost mad about how easy it is to get an emotional response this way, lol! We just love our babies too much, lol!
Wow, Yamato lost it at Kou-chan... You know, we think of Taichi as carrying a lot of pressure (and rightfully so), but Koushiro carries just as much, as we saw in Kokuhaku. He's not magic, Yams, he needs his tools, and he doesn't have 'em. Related: Although I don't much care for how it happened, I definitely would love to read/write/see a story where Koushiro has no computer and has to adapt, though. I'd also love to see one where a new tech wizard appears and he questions his role, but that's a whole' nother thing.

(My husband has informed me that I'm growling. He tells me that, when we were watching Gravity Falls and Mabel tries to tempt Dipper and the others to stay in the perfect imaginary world Bill made for her, I said, "What is she, Satan? Tempting them to stay here in comfort instead of facing danger to save everyone?" This is a similar scenario, and it's one of the few things I didn't like about Gravity Falls and OH NO, TAICHI IS THE MABEL OF THIS SITUATION, HELP!!!! Oh thank goodness, Taichi's done with this too, whew, okay, okay, breathe, stop growling).
Oh God, the Agumon puppet looks dead without the puppeteer, that's actually really awful? These puppets are amazing, guys. I cannot say enough good stuff about the execution with these puppets.
Hmm, Taichi just begged for mercy, and Etemon is unimpressed... Reminds me of the fandom after Saikai. I wonder where they'll take this...
HOLY SHIT Taichi is losing his shit! I won't say that all of that stammering and dodging earlier is accounted for here, since most of the characters did it to some degree, but it's nice to see the payoff within the same piece (instead of waiting months for the next Tri film and forming your own conclusions in that time period). I'm actually happy to see a screaming breakdown like this...
Man Koushiro speaks SO QUICKLY, dude, slow it down!!! Ahhh, he says that we're granted whatever we want here, so Etemon is probably trying to trick us by having us hear Jyou. SOMEONE IS THINKING USING THEIR BRAINSSS I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!
JYOU IS HEREEEE TO SAVE THE DAAAAAAYYY THE NEW DIGI JESUS, JYOUUUUUU!!! (And while I 100% agree that you should be cautious, Kou-chan, c'mon, he arrived saying that you made his phone go off on the train and it made him feel awkward, that's pretty much proof that it's Jyou, lol!). OH AND NOW KOU AND YAMS ARE ROASTING JYOU, classic.
Koushiro finally takes a stab directly at the heart of this... It's not even about being children and avoiding adulthood; it's about not wanting to leave August 1st. I realize exposition is Kou's job, but I didn't expect him to be the one to lay it out after all of this dodging. I’ll be honest, I’m so pleased with Koushiro in this stage play so far? I love how he moves, I love how quickly he speaks, I love that he’s able to come out and say this. I wasn’t into the way the play used him spouting off numbers to indicate intelligence, but that’s a nitpick compared to the ground they gave Koushiro here.
JYOU. JYOU. EVEN IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, KOUSHIRO, I BELIEVE IN YOU. He continues to be THE BEST, I am in awe, I bow before Jyou.
OH MAN is Jyou gonna work his awkward magic on Yams? Where's my freakin' popcorn. Oh, well, hell. Yama said he... doesn't wanna talk. *rubs forehead* Great. Entertaining. THIS IS FUN I AM HAVING FUN *curls up and cries*
Okay so now Taichi is freaking out and Koushiro is trying to talk to him (roughly 70% of this stage play is someone trying and failing to talk to someone else). But I really like what Taichi says here- "I have nothing to hesitate about." We all know this isn't true; Taichi is hesitating all over the place right now. Let's see where this goes! (Please let it go somewhere this time, lord above). WAIT- WAIT- ARE YOU SHOWING ME KOUSHIRO POINTING FINGERS AT TAICHI'S BULLSHIT AND SAYING "I'VE BEEN BY YOUR SIDE FOR SIX YEARS!!" AND THEN CUTTING AWAY?!?!??!?!?!?!? RAAAAAAAHHHH is this an aneurysm? I think this is what an aneurysm feels like. You can't drop lines that good and then CUT AWAY FROM IT GOOD LORD IN HEAVEN-

Mimi saying "I want to do SO many things!" is refreshing my soul. I know she's one of the most shippable Chosen, but honestly, if not for the fact that she has a kid that is clearly biologically hers, I would assume that she's too busy doing EVERYTHING to have a family. My headache recedes just a touch.
Hmm... I actually really like what Sulky (Yams) is trying to say here. "I don't want to be with everyone because I'm Chosen. I want to be with Gabumon because he's my friend," basically. Part of me sides with Jyou- dude we all get that, it's not a shameful secret- but another part of me... Deeply appreciates that Yams can separate his duty as a Chosen from his bond with his digimon. Gabumon is his best friend, his number one. It doesn't matter if Gabumon can't fight, if Yamato can never digivolve him again. It doesn't even matter that he's a digimon. It just matters that they're friends, and that they be together somehow, which may seem a more tenuous position by the day. ...Now I'm sad. Well played, stage play. This moment is wonderful.
...Annnnnnd now Yamato is overacting to hell, and I'm laughing instead of thinking and feeling, was that supposed to happen? Sigh. I still don't understand why he has to be SO SECRETIVE about it, but I mean... That's our Yams???
And now we're back to Kou and Taichi, and they're pulling at each other's throats, as they will, and honestly this is the only "NOW KISS" moment for me, but where was I-
In all seriousness, I really like that the person to finally, FINALLY get the truth from Taichi is Koushiro. That's how it often was in Adventure too, yes? But I almost feel like Taichi's breakdown here is a reflection of what fans said in Saikai. Taichi in Adventure always took action (although he grew so much during Adventure, I'd argue the version of himself he's referencing now wasn't there by the end of Adventure?). He can't fight in Saikai because he's concerned about hurting people/property/the tenuous relationship between humans and digimon. He can't take action... But the ability to see that is an indication of growth, not regression. Will he understand that here?

AHHHHH OKAY OKAY I have no idea how I’m going to analyze this. My surface thought is that this play features a lot of the emotions and inner thoughts of individual characters that can’t fit into Tri, and that (I personally think) Tri suffers from a lack of. Because there isn’t really ship bait and maneuvering around a new character and plot, we’re able to see relationships that feel much more familiar to Adventure than we often see in Tri (ie, Taichi worried about Hikari, Koushiro worried about Taichi, etc). As you noticed, I’m very unhappy with the way the play pushes the payoff back as far as possible, cramming it into an AMAZING twenty minutes or so... But I loved those twenty minutes.
Also, Koushiro feels waaaay more like Koushiro than he does in Tri, except for Kokuhaku. As your local insane Koushiro fan girl, I am standing and applauding and screaming and crying. NO PERVY KOUSHIRO. NO FASHION DISASTERS. Just Koushiro being supportive and apt and sweet and trying so hard. I am refreshed. I am younger.
And the passion and love and energy that went into us, so visibly in human form... I can’t describe how wonderful the actors and the puppeteers were. And even though I kind of hated Etemon, his actor was incredible.
So the stage play has amazing points and really irritating points, but on the whole, it’s my second favorite thing Tri has given us (following Kokuhaku). I will try to write about it more smart-like soon! If you got this far... I’m in awe, lol! High five, my friend!

I’m in the middle of doing my homework, when suddenly the notification for the 3rd season PV come and I get really hype and suddenly got the urge to translate this. Sorry for any grammar mistake and other such thing. I get help from my dearest friend to translate some word, thanks a lot!
1.Tenn, I think Tenn-nii said this to Kujo-san. I mean... other than him, who else?
2.Gaku, TRIGGER may be in trouble because of the rumour. (Fuck the paparazi)
3.Ryuu, I’m pretty sure Ryuu-san said this to Tenn and Gaku. Because they get angry because of the ‘problem’
What’s written on the red text is read as ‘tetorarukia’, and I actually get really confuse so I decide on ‘tetrarchy’ after some discussion with my friend.
NEW GROUP ZOOL, Because there’s no actuall text of the kanji, there may be some mistake.
4.Inumaru Toma, , I heard him said ‘trigger mo zama nai na’ and that zama is a bit confusing, but from the flow of the line. I think it can be translate as that.
5.Isumi Haruka, Hmm.. I’m really wondering who he said this to. Its only one person because he said ‘omae’ that means you, and not ‘omaera’ that means you guys. Maybe its either Mikki or Riku?
6.Natsume Minami, I think he say that to Idolish7 or TRIGGER because they said something like ‘want to surpass zero’ or anything like that.
7.Mido Torao, he said ‘damatta mama’ and I’m not sure if he mean it as either ‘silent’ or ‘hide’ one true self. The targer are Yamato or Ryuu.. biggest possibility.
8.Yamato, ‘iyashii warujie’ seriously I need to use google translate for this one, its doesn’t make sense to me. Well I’m not a pro to begin with. And Yama-san said ‘kikenaku’ that means ‘can’t ask’ but I think that way is more make sense.
9.Riku, ..... okay Riku what’s wrong?
10.Iroi, Iorin said ‘shuuchaku dekiru nara’ that means ‘can be obsessed’ ‘-‘. But I think he mean that as ‘stay with’, so I decide do translate it like that. Does he said that to the manager? Because if he said that to the member, I think he’ll said ‘tatakaimashou’ instead, so all of the member will fight together.
11.Mitsuki, Mikki T^T. I think he said this to Nagi, most of time Mikki will tell Nagi story for advice first. Maybe another conflict with himself?
12.Sougo, Idk if you guys know or not. But Japan often doesn’t use ‘subject’ when they talk. So I have no idea, who So-chan said this too. But I think it’s Tamaki, so I decide to use ‘he’ here. (Also from the flow of the lines)
13.Tamaki, and again no subject. And I think he said this to So-chan because Sougo tend to hold everything by himself. Tamaki said ‘gokai’ which mean ‘misunderstanding’. And by ‘misunderstood about you’ here, is not ‘I didn’t know you are that kind of person’ but it means that Tamaki ‘misunderstand’ about something that So-chan does.
14.Nagi, well boy what happen to your country?? ._. or maybe what happen in your past?
15.Momo, I really got no clue what trouble with face them. Because Momo’s biggest problem is already clear at the 2nd season. (At least that’s what I thought, but who knnows?)
16.Yuki, Yuki said ‘koko ni iru nani ka wo’. ‘koko ni iru’ = exist here/ it is here, ‘nani ka wo’ roughly means something. But its not clear what or maybe who is the said thing.

--THOUGHT FOR THE 3RD SEASON—
Now, I decide to separate this. Because there may be some person that don’t want to listen to my thought and other thing. FINALLY I CAN RANT (In a good way), ABOUT THE OTHER THING.
First, let’s see the new unit!

Well I think this is the first time an actual antagonist like group appear, since TRIGGER have a nice rivalry with I7. And Re:Vale is an AWESOME senpai.
1.狗丸トウマ (Inumaru Toma)：CV 木村昴 (Kimura Subaru)
From the line in the PV, I conclude that this Toma is some rude bastard with skill. The usuall pattern would be ‘Badmouthing – mouth fight – one of the member said ‘so u can do better bro?’ – end up really good’... Yeah :v Well, we still don’t know tho.
The seiyuu Kimura Subaru, I recognize his voice because ‘Dance with the Devil’ anime. Also he’s the seiyuu of ‘Giant’ from Doraemon XD.I have no worry for his singing skill tho, have heard it before and I like it.
2.亥清悠 (Isumi Haruka)：CV 広瀬裕也 (Hirose Yuuya)
I’m not sure how to describe him. He can be the hot-blood type like Gaku that hate losing but is cocky and will go ‘I don’t need any weak rival’ or the doesn’t care type like Yamato onii-chan.
His seiyuu Hirose Yuuya, I’m not familliar with his name. When I search him, turn out he’s the megane from the anime Handa-kun. The one who always wear the Gakuran. I’ll just watch over him with warm heart ^^ I hope he does a good job.
3.棗巳波 (Natsume Minami)：CV 西山宏太朗 (Nishiyama Kotarou)
He looks like the type that seems nice at first but will said the cruelest thing at the end, or maybe said it with no harm meaning. (But hurting instead.).
I recognize his voice, well Nishiyama-san voice is good so I wonder why he doesn’t get more role ._. I hope he get more in the future, and I think his voice kind of fit this kind of character.
4.御堂虎於 (Mido Torao)：CV 近藤隆 (Kondo Takashi)
I think since he said that kind of line, he may be blunt character that’ll say anything in his mind.I’ve a feeling I like him out of these 4.
KONDO-SAN!!! Well the reason I may like him is because of this too. I really like Kondo-san since hearing to his Drama CD XD. At first I didn’t notice (I forget his name kanji), when I translate it well man I’m really shock and start to getting hype. At first I was like “Oh all of the cast is ‘new’ to me. It will be kind of fresh then.” Means I’m not famiiar at seeing them in anime or other. But then Kondo-san come ^^. Well I look forward to seeing them in the actuall game.
TRIGGER
From the lines of Tenn, Gaku and Ryuu. I think they get into some kind of the trouble with public because of a wrong rumour by the magazine. But damn Tenn line at the end is so cool, his profesional attitude doesn’t drop at all. TRIGGER is this season main group (?) so I look forward to what will happen. There’s many side of Tenn and Ryuu that still unknown yet.
IDOLiSH7
I’m really concern about Nagi, because that line is soooo unlike him. Well I think all of us notice that he might be some prince or something because he seems so used to do speech in the 2nd season. So.. what happen in his country... AHH NAGI!!
Then we have Yamato onii-chan. He has too much mystery for my liking, So I expected we finally can know some fact. From Nagi and Yuki dialog in the second season, I think Yamato is former actor and quit for some reason. So that lines may be direct to.. someone that he want to revenge at first (?).
Riku and Iori lines may be connected. Riku said a day like today, might not come again while Iori said he will fight. So maybe there’s some trouble that will cause them to crumble, and the manager and Iori will try to do something about it.
I don’t have many thing to said about Sougo and Tamaki, because maybe they have some big argument again. But I don’t really have a clue about what it is, expected it is a misunderstanding. It can’t be about Aya-chan again, because she and Kujo go overseas. (Its amazing Tamaki can still meet Tenn-nii without asking him about Aya-chan, or.. did he?)
Mikki please realize that you’re love by many person ><, but I understand what he mean. Its scary to accept yourself when we don’t know what the other is thinking.
Momo and Yuki seems to have a new goal(?), Idk about Yuki but Momo’s past is mostly reveal. So let’s see what else they have for us. And that mysterious man in the last scene, seriously WHO ARE YOU~ (Last dimention reference :v) That can’t be Zero.... right?
If you have play until the end of season 2, you can see a picture of TRIGGER and text saying “The next stage is...” (Yeah, I think this is what is written there). So this 3rd season will focus on TRIGGER (?). Also from the Nico Nama from las year August, they said Nagi will play big part in the 3rd season. So its explain that word, that so unlike Nagi. They also said there will be a lot of tears again T_T like the usuall ainana. AND from the official site, they said this 3rd season will have a big volume (the story will be long), also close to the core of the story.
Now soon they will have an anime too, but the release date is not clear yet. Tbh honest I’m a big dan of utapri, but the story is just too much of a failure as they get more season. (Let’s accept it guys). What’s the point of saying its reverse harem, just said that its music idol anime like B-project. Now, I just start playing ainana since february or march, but I’m a total fangirl now. Usually I play rhythm game for the music game, but for ainana I play for the character and most of all THE STORY. Yup its always soo good, that I cry. I like the music too of course ^^
And the character all of them is so awesome. I’m still not sure who’s my favourite right now, because yeah. ALL OF THEM IS GREAT. The rabbit chat is really interesting. And now they’re gonna make a new feature, I think its called ‘Tv Rabbit’ With this we can see the interaction between member and backstage scene (?). I’m really look forward to this ^^
