Brand Mew Future: Toriel takes the role of Undyne. She isn't exactly the Toriel you know and love as she is much more stern, aloof, and detached from everyone due to certain events that struck both her family and friends altogether. Not to mention, she resorts to unhealthy coping mechanism to deal with her anguish which ultimately distorts her temperament.

Hands of Reality: Toriel takes the role of Papyrus. She's that type of grandma who makes a lot of cookies to make her grandchildren happy. The reason she looks so old is because her son Asriel is still alive and growing. Nevertheless, she is happier and is living the life she's always wanted! In a way, her character feels complete with a lot of development done in the background. Especially with the fact that she and Asgore have a healthier relationship here.

my storyshift is finally done (in terms of designs and im too lazy to come up with lore, so yeah. also, most likely not gonna make absolute phoney (omega flowey replacement) sprite because it's big and i'm lazy, nor will i make battle sprites. so, yeah.

It took me a while to do but I liked the result.

My take on StoryShift

I'll probably do individual designs and info but the basics are

Napstablook and Mettaton were humans. That fell into the underground together and perished when trying to merge their souls to help escape to the surface. Napstablook was reborn as Echo the Echo Flower. And Mettaton is a Spectre that guides you (also has prosthetic limb)

Papyrus is the guardian of the Icy Ruins. He is friendly and sort of the cool uncle type. He was the kings brother and advisor but went to the Ruins to make friends.

Chara is not really human but not really monster either. They're a mischievous prankster and love messing with people. They also really love chocolate specifically dark chocolate. They hide their true face behind an eerie mask

Asriel is training to be in the Royal Guard. He doesn't actually care about being in the Royal Guard but wants to impress his mother. His true passion is crafts. He feels like a failure because he doesn't meet his mother's expectations

Toriel is the strict captain of the Royal Guard. She's hard on her kids but doesn't realize how much it hurts them. She's a tired grouchy old lady and should probably retire soon. Few people see her caring motherly side

Asgore is the Royal Scientist. He's more of a botanist and all the amalgamates are plant themed now. He's goofy and clumsy dad and sadly doesn't have much time for his family though he loves them dearly. He created Undynes robot body with the help of Sans and Papyrus a few years back

Undyne was injured while in training to join the royal guard and her soul was preserved in a robot body. She became a professional wrestler. Specifically a luchador. She hungers for a real fight

Alphys is a spooky Japanese Hopping Zombie. Is she a ghost or is it just cosplay? She'll never tell. She's shy and timid so she hangs out in the Icy Ruins though she can't stay long due to being cold blooded

Sans is the lazy king of the underground. He's usually sleeping and thanks to his big fluffy cloak he can fall asleep standing up. He doesn't like fighting and would rather laze about......but he made a promise to his kingdom....and he hates breaking promises

Oh yeah there were a bunch of AUs like Error’s that had other characters too but the fandom’s Sans preference meant that the Sanses always got all the spotlight 😔 the only exception I can think of is Storyshift but that one’s an interesting one (for the unaware, it’s a roleswap AU but it goes in like a rotation instead of a swap - Sans and Papyrus are in Asgore and Toriel’s roles, Asgore and Toriel are in Alphys and Undyne’s roles, etc. Chara and Asriel are in Sans and Papyrus’ roles so Chara (and Asriel to an extent) is the one who got the most spotlight)

Well at least theres one universe that isn't just sans the musical. Actually holy fuck, someone should adapt the multiversal bs into a musical that would be so bad and so good.

It's shit that theres like a whole cast or Error characters, like where's their melodramatic multiversal war bullshit? An Undyne version would be battle of the century lols

Opinion

Alright. Some people think that the monsters are forcing Asgore/Papyrus/Sans, whoever the current king is to kill. I personally don’t think that happens.

The endings, even when a lot of people die puts more emphasis on hopelessness than human murder, unless Undyne is in charge. I suppose that could just be Sans concealing information.

Asgore seems to think that killing you must happen. That could be a result of outside pressures, or it could be him making an awful choice for reasons that are understandable, personal, and not justified, and feeling that he needs to continue. Because he can’t have done it for nothing.

But if a lot of the monsters really want you dead? Not just killing by accident, because humans and bullet patterns don’t mix the same way monsters and bullet patterns do? Well. That makes a lot of murder seem more justified.

Not the genocide/no mercy route. The Whimsuns can’t hurt you. Monster Kid is a child. Hunting down monsters to fulfil a quota is just immoral. Evil. But a lot of murder, sure. I mean. They want you dead. They’re probably trying to kill you the whole time, why not give them a taste of their own medicine.

This is more for any Frisk that might be stuck without a player. Players can turn the game off. But really. They’re trying to kill a human, who they either know is a kid, or could figure out is a kid, if they bothered to do some research. Just because the player is puppeting around a child doesn’t make them any less okay with killing the aforementioned child. Seems a bit like justice, to kill those that would kill a child. Even if they can be convinced.

Undyne + Toriel!

Undyne's design is very inspired by Ai's outfit from Oshi No Ko, i thought it would be cool if she wore an anime inspired pop outfit. Toriels design is a mix of her og design with armor on top.

Undyne's design took me waaaay too long to draw properly(this was ment to be posted yesterday)

I’d appreciate more specific questions, but sure.

Hope is inspired by the concept of toxic positivity.

After Hope escaped the Antivoid, he decided the best way to bring positivity to the multiverse was to destroy all the negative AUs.

Core Frisk wasn’t particularly on board with this idea since some of those AUs had innocent people in them, however they also didn’t want to turn Hope into an enemy, given that the two had been friends for quite a while.

That friendship was destroyed however, when Hope realized how effective his aura of positivity was in not only making those around him feel positivity, but how desperate the inhabitants of the Omega Timeline could be to keep feeling that positivity.

It reached a point where he was able to sway over a dozen people to his cause before Core Frisk stepped in and told him to get out. Hope reluctantly agreed, taking his new followers with him to the ruins of DreamTale to create a new base of operations, with the intention of spreading his new form of positivity across the multiverse and destroy every negative AU in existence.

Undertale/Deltarune FanComics

I put out a post for some UTDR comic recs, and I've decided to compile them all here, both so that I can easily access them as I make my way through, and also so that anyone else who is interested in it can also check it out :D I've provided brief descriptions next the ones I could uh quickly find descriptions for or knew personally, so if you notice one you know that's lacking a descriptions, tell me and I'll add it.
