Soap/Corvo
I think there's a silent agreement between Soap and Corvo that Soap will follow Corvo anywhere, and Corvo is fully dedicated to Emily; unless she abdicates, dies, or literally orders him to step down, he intends to be her Lord Protector until he physically cannot anymore, and intends to continue being her Spymaster until he dies. So likewise, Soap will stay and serve the crown for as long as Corvo does, even if it means he stays in Dunwall Tower the rest of his life.
They still entertain cozy little fantasies about retiring, stuff like retiring to a vineyard in the Serkonan countryside or going sailing around the Isles. Stuff they don't really think will come true. They both have parts of them that long for a little bit of rest, but going back to civilian life is not a choice made lightly for either of them and I think on some level, they're both afraid of adjusting poorly and needing something to dedicate themselves to; so they're fine with leaving their fantasies as fantasies.
Makayuri
HM yeah this one is 'verse dependent, but I think Makarov is the dominant voice in the relationship in most of the Makayuri 'verses, for better or worse--usually for worse, but I've got some AUs where Makarov is like...normal. Not abusive, at least.
For the ones where he is, and/or he and Yuri are massively codependent (so canonverse and AUs like Venator and Apoptosis), I think Makarov works under the assumption that Yuri will follow him and his word anywhere no matter what, and any conversations about future plans are usually related to Makarov's goals and involve Makarov completely bulldozing over Yuri. Yuri is not completely passive about this and will argue with Makarov on things, but for the most part, he is willing to follow Makarov pretty much anywhere (or at least he thinks so; he does have a breaking point, at least in canon and most AUs), and most of the time, he won't argue about something unless he thinks it's a bad idea and/or he's absolutely certain he'll be able to get Makarov to listen to him.
In AUs where they're more normal, I think they're both people who find a lot of security in a solid plan, even if their approaches and what they believe constitute "solid plans" may be different. I feel like Yuri and Makarov have varying levels of flexibility on certain things that differ from each other, and view each other as neurotic in different directions that are really difficult to reconcile; they like to get their future planning Over And Done With, so they prefer to have a long conversation (usually involving an argument, knowing Makarov) about a milestone they want to reach, reach an agreement on their individual approaches on how they'll contribute toward that goal, and then chug along toward it without another word until it's reached and it's time for them to decide what to do next.
They do entertain idle fantasies and stuff in those kinds of AUs, I think; I think Yuri ultimately wants a comfortable, calm domestic life, and while Makarov loves piles of money and everyone wanting to suck his dick (unless it's an AU where he's more solitary, like Oasisverse), for the most part he wants to be able to retreat to a private, comfortable place where he has only a few close, trusted people he can be himself with. Ultimately what they want is dependent on the AUs they're in and I've got too many to bother digging into all of them rn.

3) Who is more into taking showers/baths together? Who tries to make it relaxing and who tries to make it sexy time?
They would rarely get the chance to bathe together, considering the circumstances surrounding their relationship and the accommodations at Dunwall Tower, but when they get the rare chance, it’s Corvo who jumps at it first. Communal bathing to him is valuable bonding time, so he would enjoy getting to spend that kind of time with Soap. Even if he’s trying to be cheeky about it.
7) Who said “I love you” first? and who ends their arguments in a fight with “Because I love you”?
It was probably Corvo who said, ”I love you,” first. They’re both hopeless romantics—though Soap is more of a closet hopeless romantic—and while they’re both guarded, it’s definitely Corvo who’s the more open, emotionally available of the two.
Soap is the one who ends his argument with, “Because I love you.” There’s only so much he can bottle up before everything comes spilling out of him, uncontrollable, and it’s moments like this where he’s most vulnerable and where he admits to more than he’ll normally let on.
11) Who makes fun of the other for having a crush on them, and who has to remind them that they are in a relationship?
Soap is definitely the type to tease Corvo, which Corvo will then turn back on him—in a lighthearted way, of course—when Soap is romantic towards him. It’s one of their favorite aspects of their relationship: their playful banter. Though Soap definitely does it more often, and it’s Corvo who reminds them what kind of relationship they’re in.
17) Who is more protective?
They’re equally protective of each other; both have lost people they cared about, too many and too violently. For them, when they’re protective of one another, there’s a sense of, “Not again. Not with you.”
24) Who starts random slow dancing with the other in the kitchen? Who holds the other just above the ground and kisses them?
Corvo is the more likely of the two of them to pull Soap into a slow dance, if he felt like it, but Soap will find himself doing the same thing on occasion. They’re both romantics at heart after all, even if Soap is a little shyer about expressing it.
Also, they’d both lift each other if they could, but they settle for tight embraces instead.

🌻 How do they spend time if the other is gone?
so Soap and Corvo are both super busy men with a lot on their plates, together and separately, and they're pretty private about their relationship (tho I haven't decided if it's an open secret like Corvojess). Soap also spends a lot of time naturalizing himself in the Isles (reading books, talking to people, learning the history and culture etc etc) and ofc he and Corvo have their own hobbies, so they can fall pretty easily into their own routine if they're not around each other. it's pretty much business as usual if one of them is traveling or smth.
when they're apart, though, they write a lot of letters because they're both clingy romantics who jump at the chance to write each other laudanum- or white leaf tobacco/kadr-fueled love letters about each other's eyes or some corny shit (affectionate). they get horny.
🎩 Who bothers the other person while the other person reads?
Corvo is definitely the annoying one lmao...even if it's not in an attention-grabbing way, he's nosy and he likes knowing what Soap is up to. Soap is a lot more avoidant and unless he needs something or has something important to say, he'll typically leave Corvo alone. and even though he'll act annoyed with Corvo getting all up in his shit, he lets it happen bc Corvo isn't an asshole about it and he lowkey loves the attention lol
🌈 What are their favourite colours?
Soap and Corvo both like dark colors, black, and pastels since they're easier on the eyes. they also like cool colors and they both like blue, though Soap likes green more and Corvo likes purple. Soap has a wide range of "favorite" colors and he could talk to u forever about color theory and shit but Corvo is more straightforward about it. Soap also likes gold, while Corvo prefers silver.

:D Ye, I do!
◦ Soap and Corvo both like music, and sometimes they'll play instruments for each other! Soap plays the guitar, and Corvo plays both the guitar and the harp.
◦ They're both good singers, too—they won't ever serenade each other, but sometimes they'll sing together, or quietly listen to the other hum/softly sing while he works on something.
◦ Soap will sometimes sit down and sketch Corvo when he has the time, either from reference or from memory. Sometimes he'll have the spare time to paint, and he's got a couple of simple portraits of Corvo in his private quarters. It's stuff that never sees a gallery or a collector, since Soap likes to keep his art personal and shared only between him and the people he's close with in Call of Honor.
◦ Soap is a secret hopeless romantic, so he relishes in the way Corvo shows desire and affection: in his longing glances, lingering touches, hand kisses, and sweet compliments and pet names and promises. Corvo is one of the few people he lets call him "John," just because the way he says it sounds so safe and gentle.
◦ Corvo is also a hopeless romantic, and he thinks it's sweet how his way of expressing affection makes Soap so easily flustered (even if Soap pretends otherwise). He adores when Soap is able to return that kind of affection (and again, it's adorable when Soap stumbles around it, because he's much shyer about it and afraid of coming across as corny).
◦ Corvo loves to give his lover gifts, so he leaves Soap gifts fairly frequently. The gifts aren't usually expensive or over the top; he likes to give gifts that have practical use. If he notices Soap is running low on art supplies, he'll grab some more; if Soap mentions liking a specific kind of tea or coffee, Corvo will make sure to have Dunwall Tower stocked with whatever he likes. He'll also take note of what subjects Soap likes reading about, and get him books related to that.
◦ Corvo does like the occasional grand-gesture gift, too; when they calculate Soap's birthday according to the Isles' calendar, he makes sure to get him something nice each year; for example, one year, he gets Soap a nice Serkonan guitar.
◦ Soap, meanwhile, loves physical touch and quality time. Simply being around Corvo is enough for him, especially with the way Corvo expresses affection. Depending on the kind of gift Corvo gets him, Soap will make it a point to use the gift around Corvo to express his appreciation; he'll use new art supplies to draw Corvo (or just draw in his presence), he'll play his new guitar for Corvo in the music room, or, if they're both running low on the desire to directly interact with one another, Soap will settle down with one of the books Corvo gifted him while they sit together.

Oh gosh this is a hard one because I just. Love him so much?
Probably one of my favorite aspects of his personality is how sentimental and sensitive he actually is, which I don’t know if many characters in the game really expect from him. He’s not a man of many words, and he’s used to being feared (whether he’s also respected is another matter), but he feels so deeply, and he’s such a romantic soul. I really love him.

I don’t really have one? The only game where he has any lines, written or vocal, are in Dishonored 2, and Dh2 has never been super memorable for me. The characterization fell kinda flat for me.

Obviously during the game Corvo is wary of the Abbey, but I headcanon he never liked it to begin with. He considers it a blight on the people, which sows more fear than it assuages.
unpopular opinion
Probably my only unpopular opinion is related to Corvojess?
I don’t actively ship it, and I don’t care when people actively ship it—it’s why I didn’t put it under nOTPs, because I don’t consider it one—but there’s something objectively weird about Corvo getting together with a woman he’s known since he was 18 and she was 12. I know the devs didn’t write Corvo to be any kind of groomer or abuser, and I certainly don’t see him that way (or as someone intentionally written to be that way), but the age gap is extremely uncomfortable for me. There’s other aspects of their relationship that easily lead into an uncomfortable power dynamic, mainly on the Kaldwin/Jessamine side, but the age gap is easily up there in my list of most uncomfortable things about their relationship.
I’ve been toying with the idea of bumping up Jessamine’s age by a few years so that she’s closer to 16-18 when they meet, which is marginally better. It messes with the timeline and with the whole Delilah thing, I think, but maybe when it comes to Call of Honor I can make it work?
I’m not averse to actually acknowledging their relationship or how in love they were, and there are points where I certainly feel for both of them. It’s not that I hate Corvojess, it’s just. Eh? I don’t really feel comfortable with a lot of the aspects of their relationship the more I look into it. I don’t know if the devs really realized what they were implying with that one—which can be said for a lot of the decisions the devs made.

I’ll be real with you. If I listed everything I loved about him I’d be here all day.
I guess one thing is how he’s clearly depressed and traumatized, and has a martyr/self-sacrifice complex where he pushes himself to the point of breaking to achieve his unrealistic standards. Not because I necessarily like seeing him that way (I hate to see him suffer), but because it’s something I can relate to, and I appreciate being able to relate to a character in such an intimate way.

Literally do not have one. He’s my baby. My fucking cinnamon apple. (Obviously as a character/person he has flaws and I recognize that but I love him so much anything I can’t really pick anything about him out as my least favorite.)

There’s nothing super groundbreaking about this line. For me, it’s the way he says it. It’s like he almost hisses, with rage and deep, bitter hatred and betrayal he can hardly contain. He’s furious, and it slips through. That line still gives me the tingles.

I’m really indulging in this black Soap headcanon but when he was a kid he had cornrows. If he wasn’t so attached to his mohawk, he’d probably get cornrows in adulthood. He takes a lot of pride in his hair.

Black Soap is good y’all are just cowards.
Not that most people in the fandom are shitty about him as a whole; I’ve gotten some very lovely support from a bunch of people! It’s just that I’ve noticed that people have a tendency to act funny around him, or, in some cases, be outright vitriolic. It’s not unpopular, but it’s not really popular, either.

Soap. He’s the more outgoing of the pair.

Also Soap. He’s not a health nut in the sense that he’ll froth at the mouth if he sees a single chip in a five mile radius, but he does enjoy healthy eating and balancing out his diet (even if he’ll sneak junk food). Corvo also remembers healthy food, for his sake and Emily’s, but between Soap and Corvo, the kitchen is Soap’s domain.

Corvo. For Emily’s sake mostly, but he’ll admit to liking teeth-rotting sweet stuff himself.

Corvo is usually the first one to jump on things that have broken or need repairs. Soap will do it too, if Corvo gives him the chance.

Soap, usually. Corvo does this too, and they’ll trade jobs often to keep the household balanced, but Soap really enjoys taking care of things.

Corvo. He’s naturally an early riser, and he’s usually up with the sun.

Soap, since he’s usually the one to get up last.

Corvo, since he’s up first. He likes the super strong kind, and a lot of it, so he’s the one who drinks the most coffee between the two of them. Soap drinks it too, and while normally he won’t sweeten up his coffee (he usually prefers it black), he’ll sometimes add milk and a little bit of sugar to the kind Corvo likes to brew. It’s a little too strong for Soap’s taste.

Corvo. He’s absolutely hopeless in the kitchen. Soap does too, sometimes, but with Corvo’s inability to cook without burning everything, Soap takes charge of the kitchen and gets better over time. (That’s not to say Corvo isn’t an excellent taste tester and can tell Soap exactly what’s wrong with a dish. He absolutely can, he’s just shit at replicating the results he wants.)
how do they let each other know they’re leaving the house
Like Soap and Price, they’ll usually shout at each other from the doorway. If not that, they’ll say it to each other face to face.
how do they greet each other when one of them gets home
A hug and a kiss. Every time.
who brings home little gifts like flowers/chocolates more often
Corvo. His love language is almost entirely gifts and grand gestures of affection, so if he really likes someone, he’ll go out of his way to bring them little gifts. This definitely includes Emily (who he spoils a bit but it’s fine because she’s his baby), and this definitely includes Soap. For Soap he’ll usually bring practical things, but he will bring stuff like flowers and chocolates.
who picks the movie for movie night
They trade between themselves and Emily, since Emily is as much of a part of movie night as they are. It’s an easy way to spend time together.
their favorite kind of movie to watch
Action-adventure movies are the kinds of movies they watch most, mainly because they’ll pick things they know Emily will like. On the off chance Emily isn’t around for movie night (maybe she’s tired, maybe she’s spending the night with a friend), Soap and Corvo will put in a good thriller. Corvo can’t stand horror, so Soap will watch those on his own.

Soap, usually because he’s being goaded on by Emily.

Corvo and Soap will build it together. And then they’ll sit under it with Emily and tell her stories - sometimes if it’s just Soap and Emily, he’ll bring lights too, and they’ll draw together.

Soap’s the cheeky one. He won’t do anything too adult in front of Emily, but he’ll gently poke at Corvo to break through his cool exterior. Corvo pretends he’s annoyed, but his eyes always betray him.

Soap. Corvo is usually the one up the latest.

Corvo. He spends all his time looking out for other people, and it feels nice to be the one being protected for a change.
