Eddie has never traveled much. Sure, he'd drive around in his van, sometimes visit Indy, but otherwise he's given up on all the touristy stuff even before he could experience it (as if - an absent mother and a criminal father don't exactly scream VACATION TIME). He finds it silly, all the magnets, postcards. As if one week somewhere else could make a difference.

Enter Steve Harrington, a very dedicated boyfriend with a no bullshit attitude and a payout from yet another government interdimensional (or cross-dimensional?) fuckup. Given how many times he's nearly died, he doesn't exactly feel like saving and investing into his future if it may never come. And so when Eddie's wounds heal, his quiet graduation passes and Hawkins isn't swarmed by monsters for a change, he doesn't ask, simply tells Eddie that his job search will have to wait for 2 weeks or so. He helps him pack a bag, winks at Wayne on his way out (seriously, were they conspiring against him all this time?!) and off to the airport they go.

Eddie has never flown anywhere and boy, is that an experience. After grasping Steve's hand tight enough for his knuckles to go white, he finally relaxes and watches the clouds in child-like awe. Steve is smiling at him from the middle seat, squeezes his hand sometimes. Of course he made sure Eddie would have the window seat. Of course he knows Eddie would find the experience magical.

One uneventful flight and slight migraine scare later, they land, Steve picks up their rented car and drives them both to a small house on the beach. Steve snorts when he sees the separate beds and pushes them together, dropping his own bag on the right mattress. And Eddie just stares, still in disbelief that this is happening, that the local freak and suspected Satanist somehow ended up on a beach vacation with white pillows, so soft it's almost ridiculous, a boyfriend kind (and hot, so goddamn hot!) beyond belief and gentle sound of the waves...

Eddie doesn't really have swimming trunks, Steve didn't really tell him what to pack except that it's going to be mostly warm, but when he tries to apologize to Steve, his boyfriend just laughs, digs in his perfectly organized bag and tosses something black at Eddie's head. When Eddie disentagles it from his face, he finds out it's a pair of trunks with small skulls on them. "Told you, baby," says Steve and presses a gentle kiss into Eddie's cheek. "You don't need to worry about anything this week."

And Eddie doesn't, for the first time in his life he feels absolutely free from everything. When he sees the ocean for the first time, he ends up doing a very undignified splat into the waves and soon finds out that the legends were true, the water is salty and god, it's disgusting. Steve gets them both cheap snorkel masks and they just float next to each other and observe the tiny creatures on the ocean floor. Steve often dives much deeper than Eddie would ever dare to go and brings up small treasures, shells and smooth pebbles. He insists Eddie should only pick the prettiest ones, but Eddie hoards them all. "If they're too heavy when we fly back, I'll just send my bag with you and walk to Hawkins on foot," he says and he might be joking. Might.

In the end, they come back to Hawkins, with Eddie's pale skin slightly red ("I told him he needed sunscreen but did he listen, Wayne? Of course not") and bags full of trinkets that quickly fill the shelves of Eddie and Wayne's new home. Wayne's mug collection grows yet again, he gives a quiet huff of laughter when the boys admit they had a competition to buy the ugliest mug possible, Eddie presents him with a disturbingly realistic seahorse mug and Steve produces a cartoon octopus mug with a sign "SEAS THE DAY". They both groan when Wayne declares it's a tie and proudly displays both.

And if Eddie sneaks to the kitchen during the night to decorate their fridge with a tacky magnet, well, who can blame him? Maybe he'll start a collection too.

Cold Water

Tim and Daniel are sitting watching the sunrise over the ocean. They want to go spearfishing but Tim forgot to bring their gear, so Daniel decides to improvise...

This is an inanimate TF story.

The sky was heavy with dawn and a looming mist draped over the water in front of us. Tim and I sat together on a rocky outcrop, listening to the gentle lapping of the ocean waves collapsing onto the shore below us. He sat beside me, wearing an oversized hoodie, a bright red beanie hat and black pants, watching the darkness of the sky melt away with the first lights of the morning sun appeared in the distance. A breeze blew off of the water and we both shivered while watching the inky black waves crash and foam below.

“I’m so sorry,” Tim repeated. “I thought I had all our gear.”

Tim had been in charge of bringing our spearfishing gear on this trip. He had packed our bags, prepared our wetsuits, fins, masks and snorkels. I was in charge of the spearguns, spears and floats, and they were all lying on the damp ground behind us.

I smiled at Tim, “It’s fine. Really. I’m happy to finally spend some time with you, that’s all I wanted.”

Tim didn’t return my gaze. He looked down at the soggy rocks and rubbed at them with his thumb.

“I know,” he finally said. “Me too. I was just really looking forward to diving the bay. The fishing here is supposed to be amazing!”

We both paused, letting the moment rest. I suddenly realised something. “Y’know... I might be able to sort something out.” I said, climbing to my feet. “Really? How?” Tim said, looking up at me.

I began to take off my own hoodie and pants, bracing for the cold sea air to wrap around my bare skin. I tossed my clothing at Tim, who playfully tossed it away from me. When I was just standing in my underwear, I took those off too and threw them at Tim’s head. He caught them and tossed them with the rest of my clothing. I stood in front him, shivering and cold, and naked as the day I came.

“Just wait. You’ll like this, I promise.”

I sat down next to Tim and stretched my legs out in front of me. The cold rock against my bare backside was only slightly colder than the air around me. But not to worry, I thought, soon I will be a thick neoprene wetsuit, ready for the cold water.

After a few minutes of deep breathing and concentrating, I felt the changes begin. It started with my toes growing numb and lifeless, flattening and stretching out into rubber flipper fins.

“What the fuck?” Tim exclaimed. “What are you doing?”

“Quiet. Just watch. You’ll be able to go spearfishing soon,” I grinned at Tim. If he asked any follow up questions, I didn’t hear them. Contorting my face slightly, I concentrated on making the changes happen.

My feet flattened and widened before they grew and stretched out to almost a metre in length. A red graphic sketched itself on the top flat part of my foot. I tried to bend and wiggle my toes but found I couldn’t as there were no bones or nerve endings anymore. I managed a brief shake with my leg and found that the flipper part was very flexible, perfect for diving down deep in the ocean. A plastic ridge formed at the edge of the fin that tapered all the way to the very tip of it, allowing for more flexibility and sturdiness. Sitting with the flippers straight up in the air quickly became taxing on my ankles, and made me long for the changes to the rest of my feet to hurry.

The top part of my foot bulged out and hollowed enough for Tim to slide his own foot inside. Parts of my bone and muscle transformed into a neoprene bootie so Tim’s own feet would not get cold in the freezing waters. With my feet now completely transformed into long spearfishing fins, and no longer able to support themselves, they both collapsed to the side with only a black neoprene bootie peeking from inside. I now sat, footless, on the rocks with a ring of black rubber forming at my ankles and creeping up my legs. The changes continued with the black neoprene ring climbing up my calves towards my knees. As it went, my legs hollowed and flattened. It felt like pins and needles were inching their way up my legs; my skin thickened and then turned numb as the rubbery texture grew larger and larger.

The black glideskin neoprene was rubbery and smooth. Reaching down to feel, it felt very odd under my skin, as my internal bones and blood faded away and my body transformed into thick, spongey neoprene. A 7mm thick wetsuit would be just enough for Tim. I pulled at the material and felt how elastic and stretchy I had become.

As the changes approached my crotch, I lay my top half down on the ground as I would soon lose any ability to keep myself sitting upright. The neoprene at my crotch was not the shiny rubbery glideskin that my legs had become, it was the nylon-covered closed cell style that would allow for more flexibility in Tim’s sensitive areas. I angled my arms and elbows beneath my back and lifted my upper neck and shoulders so I could still watch the changes.

Parts of my hip bone popped and groaned and slipped from my waist, thunking onto the floor as a diving weight belt. A piece of stretchy silicon and rubber snaked through each weight and a plastic clip snapped onto the end. My neoprene body was very buoyant and would make Tim float unless he wore a weight belt to help him dive to the bottom of the sea.

My penis became deflated and flat, but still maintained it’s cylindrical shape and definition. As it deflated and emptied, the neoprene material stretched a little longer, becoming a pee hole for the trouser section of the wetsuit. The trouser part continued to just above my belly button, covering over the place where the weight belt had just appeared. Once above my waist, an entirely new section of wetsuit formed. The jacket section forged itself towards my armpits, but it also continued down to my crotch and legs, overlapping the material from my legs. A white seam wrapped around my waist separating the open cell material from the closed cell. The shiny neoprene rubber went up my body towards my head. A beaver tail enclosure formed at my back and slid in between my legs and two plastic clips popped out from my stomach.

My arms suddenly buckled and gave away, forcing my top half down and making me unable to watch my chest and stomach change. My arms and elbows were next to be transformed into slick rubbery neoprene and hollowed out; without bones to support my neck and head, I couldn’t keep them up.

The shiny rubbery neoprene continued along my arms and shoulders. My hands formed into thick neoprene gloves, with thick material like the rest of my body and velcro adjustment straps that snaked around my wrists. My palms bubbled into a grippy rubber and waterproof seals and seams stitched down the sides of my fingers. Once finished they lay on the ground, lifeless and empty. I instinctively tried to move my phantom hand but was obviously unable to move an inanimate neoprene diving glove.

At my neck, the neoprene completely engulfed my throat and back of my head. The material stopped just short of my face, forming a tight rubber seal that enveloped my ears. It climbed around the top of my head, claiming every strand of hair and inch of skin as stretchy rubber neoprene now. A warm and dull feeling crossed over my head and everything inside the neoprene hood melted into rubber and nylon. A new purpose, as a spearfishing wetsuit, overtook my mind. My lips involuntarily formed an O-shape and every organic part of my mouth melted into back plastic and pushed its way out into a long tubular snorkel. The final change was my eyes which popped out into a glass diving mask, a thick rubber strap snapping around the back of my head and a silicon seal suctioning off of the last remnants of my face.

The mask, snorkel and hood flopped on the ground. I was done changing. I couldn’t breathe or move, but I knew I didn’t need to. I was a wetsuit now and awaited the icy depths of the ocean; my neoprene shell ready to disperse heat and wick away moisture. I was ready for a dive!

My mouth was still hanging open. One minute we had been talking, watching the sunrise and listening to the waves, the next Daniel was naked, sitting on the rocks in the cold morning air and asking me to be quiet so he could concentrate. He told me to watch his foot and I watched the very tips of his feet compress and flatten and stretch out really far. His pink fleshy skin turned into a black rubber and plastic, and when I reached and touched it, I was able to bend it slightly. His feet looked a lot like spearfishing fins.

“What the fuck?” I yelled. “What are you doing?”

Daniel told me to be quiet.

I watched as his feet continued to stretch and grow longer. The rest of his feet swelled and emptied out. I repositioned where I was sitting and looked closer to see the changes more fully. The inside of the flipper was void except for a black neoprene bootie: his entire foot was gone!

The changes kept going. Daniel’s ankles turned black and shiny, resembling the same smooth skin open-cell neoprene material that our wetsuits at home were made from. The material travelled up his legs to his crotch. Waterproof seams and seals appeared on the sides of his legs. I touched the trousers. They were vibrating slightly, and felt spongey and rubbery. Pushing down on the material, it felt exactly the same as any other wetsuit I had owned, except this one was growing from where Daniel was lying. There was no denying that Daniel’s legs had changed into a wetsuit.

As the changes reached Daniel’s penis I suddenly became aware that my own penis was erect. I pulled down my shorts and began stroking to what I was watching. Daniel didn’t notice as he had laid down on the ground fully. His own penis flattened and disappeared into the black neoprene.

He really was changing into a wetsuit! But not changing into in the way you put one on, I mean he was becoming the wetsuit!

A weight belt thudded to the ground beside him — I guess he thought of everything I would need down in there.

Once the changes got to his chest, I was able to nudge Daniel’s legs and see they were completely empty and hollow. His entire body was changing.

The shininess of the rubbery, black neoprene travelled under his armpits and down his arms. Any body hair was instantly absorbed and changed. His hands switched into thick neoprene gloves, and just as well as the water was going to be freezing!

Once the neoprene got to Daniel’s neck, it moved around the back to form the wetsuit hood. His facial hair and head hair melted and became neoprene, rubber and nylon. His eyes popped out into a diving mask, and a snorkel pushed out of his mouth. With that last change, everything flopped and fell to the ground; empty and cold and without a wearer. There was no sign of Daniel, just a black wetsuit, mask, snorkel and fins.

I came over the rocks and quickly rushed to take offmy clothing. The sea air ripped at my skin but it would soon be covered by Daniel’s new neoprene body and the ice cold of the sea water.

I slipped my feet and legs into the wetsuit trousers, careful to not tear the material. The inside was already lubed and slid across my skin with ease. I put on the booties and tucked the upper part of the boot under the ankle material of the trousers, so as to limit any water getting to my bare skin. Grabbing the jacket, I first put my left arm into the arm hole and threaded it through to the wrist. As I slid the rest of the jacket over my head and down my torso, I felt another vibration wrap around my entire body. My head popped out of the other side and I attached the beaver tail under my crotch. Grabbing the gloves, I slipped them on my hands and bent down for the mask, fins and snorkel. The weight belt was the last thing I needed and was fastened around my waist.

There was a rocky outcrop just beside where we had been sitting that lead down to a secluded beach. I picked up the speargun and floats and carefully treaded down the slick steps. Once at the shore, I took a deep breath and prepared to step into the water. Using a rock for balance, I put on my fins (Daniel’s feet) and slipped the wetsuit hood (Daniel’s head) over my head. I quickly used the sea water to clean out the mask (Daniel’s eyes and nose) before donning it over my face. I stuck the snorkel (Daniel’s lips and mouth) into my mouth and gripped the speargun. The sun was up now and the ocean was flat and calm. The only sound came from the gentle rush of the waves hitting the beach. It was still cold, but the thick neoprene that Daniel had become was going to be more than enough to keep me warm for a few hours.

“I don’t know what just happened,” I said out loud. “But I liked it. I wonder what else you can become.”

And with that, I took a giant plunge into the icy waters.

Kisame: *carefully checks over Deidara’s gas tanks and gear* It IS pretty cool; I haven’t been since I was much younger, with my father. Of course we don’t need to use breathing aides like you and Itachi but.

Itachi: Used to go snorkeling when I was a kid, but never something like this.

Deidara: Oi, Kisame; can you hear underwater?

Kisame: Kind of. You can hear frequencies, or vibrations, but not really words or anything like that. Why?

Deidara: Because if we run into any lion fish, I want to hear them roar, hm!

Kisame:

Itachi: Personally I’d rather see a tiger shark myself. I bet all the black and orange stripes look great underwater.

august 21st : snorkel

They are on Nakanoshima beach when someone suggests going snorkelling. Lucy immediately says no. She might be living on a ship in the middle of the sea right now, but that doesn’t mean that she has any desire to be in it. Except one of her ship mates comes back and tells her that they saw sea turtles and that captures Lucy’s attention, because she loves the sea turtle habitat at Sea Life Park and thinks about how cool it would be to see them in the wild.

She chews her bottom lip thoughtfully and wonders what Kate would say if she was here. It is an easy answer. She would tell Lucy to go for it, that she has already come so far in conquering her fears and that all she has to do is find a little bit more courage to go into the water.

So she does it, staying in the shallow waters, and, despite the way her heart thumps in her chest, she loves how much she can see below the surface. She floats above the bright pinks and reds of the coral, contrasted by the dark greys and browns of the rocks. A small octopus jumps out at her and she panics for a moment, before it returns to its hiding place. She feels a little braver and swims further until a school of tropical fish appear, a swarm of blues and golds and oranges gliding past, nonchalant to her presence. And she seas a sea turtle!

Kate is the first person she calls when she is back on the ship. Of course she wants to know everything about it, what Lucy saw and how she feels now she has done it. She tells Lucy about all of the best places for snorkelling on O’ahu, starts making plans for when Lucy gets home and, oh, Lucy misses home – and Kate – so much.

“Hey,” Lucy says, interrupting Kate mid-sentence. “When I get home, can you and me take some time off together?”

“Sure,” Kate says. “You want to go on vacation?”

“I want…” Lucy pauses, as she searches for her words. “I just want to be with you, no distractions. I miss you, Kate. I really wish you’d been here today, to have seen what I saw, to be on this adventure with me.”

There is so much longing in her voice and she can tell that Kate is smiling on the other end of the phone, her mouth doing that little twitch it does when someone is paying her a compliment.

“I miss you too – so much. But you’ll be home soon, just another month to go,” Kate reminds her.

Lucy nods to herself. Just one more month until she is home in their apartment, in their bed and in Kate’s arms. She goes to sleep every night with that thought in her mind.

“Next time you call me, you’ll be telling me that you’ve been deep sea diving with sharks.”

Lucy laughs, her hair falling off her shoulders as she tips her head back. “I don’t know about that,” Lucy says. “Now tell me more about Pike’s undercover operation. How did it end?”

“About that,” Kate says slowly. “I, uh, I’m getting a medal from the FBI for my part in it.”

“You are? Kate, that’s amazing!” Lucy cheers. “Why didn’t you stop me talking about fish and sea turtles, and tell me that?”

“Well…”

Lucy hears Kate hesitate.

“It sort of involves me and Tennant and a bad guy with a .50 caliber machine gun.”

There is silence for a moment.

“I’m sorry… what?”

Nilaveli beach - Trincomalee, SriLanka

The Nilaveli Beach is situated in the coastal town of Nilaveli, which is about 16 km North of Trincomalee. It is a beautiful white sandy beach with waves ideal for surfing, diving and snorkeling. About 2 km into the sea is the famous Piegon Island and further up North is a cluster of reddish rocks known as the Red Rock Beach. Nilaveli is one of the finest and most beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka.

Minister of Tourist and Antiquities for Egypt Ahmed Issa Taha met with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to go about ministry initiatives and developments in the tourist sector.

Personality: Hal’s a quiet guy unless you ask him about oceanic Pokémon, especially those that live in the depths. He's wary of professional trainers, contest entrants, gym leaders--anyone who he views as making a living off of their Pokémon. But once he knows they genuinely care for their companions, he warms up pretty quickly. Background: Growing up in Fiore, where Rangers are more common than trainers, Hal always wanted to be a Ranger. He begged his parents to let him attend the Ranger Academy, but they refused, wanting him to have a more traditional educational experience. Still, as soon as he graduated high school, Hal joined the Rangers. He was an active Ranger from the age of 18 until he was almost 23. Just after his 22nd birthday, Hal was assigned to a team tasked with breaking up and capturing the leaders of a notorious Pokémon smuggling ring. Hal worked on that case for the better part of a year, and the level of suffering and cruelty he saw inflicted on Pokémon in the name of profit made him sick to his stomach. Hal’s team succeeded in their mission, making headlines in the process, but Hal quit the Rangers soon after.

Hal returned to his childhood home in Fall City, where he lived with his parents for another two years, re-adjusting to everyday life and beginning therapy for his PTSD. When he was 25, he decided he wanted to go to university and applied to a Marine Biology program at the University of Sinnoh at Sunyshore. He graduated in three years and received a research internship at the Ocean Life Research Institute in the Decolore Islands. After his internship ended, he was offered a job as a research assistant. Hal is still based in the Decolore Islands, age 29.

A oneshot that I put on wattpad lol:

They all hurried to the shore, laughing and pushing each other, trying to get to the water first. Aqua was with them,(one of my own characters read lost and found for this to make sense lol) but he was only going to be there for a certain amount of time as they were staying there late.

Red of course got in first and starting swimming out. They all followed, Yellow and Blue making sure Aqua didn't go too far into the water. Everyone splashed around and threw a volleyball around. Mango had actually come along and was sitting on the shore, watching the others, as he wasn't really a big swimming fan. A few hours passed and the sun started to set, which followed with Aqua being taken home. They were all getting pretty bored, so Green hired a jet-ski and everyone took turns to go on it. The sky was a blazing not orange and pink as the sun started to disappear behind the horizon.

"My turn!" Said Red who was the last to go.

She set off on the jet-ski and rode off into the horizon. She was excited as she planned to stop the jet-ski and swim in the deep for a bit, to see all sorts of sea life. Of course Red was fascinated with that sort of stuff.

When she got fairly deep, she turned the engine off and put on her snorkel, diving into the water. The bright sun lit up the whole underwater, so all the fish and coral she saw was very bright and colourful. There was all sorts of fish and tropical beings, all very pretty and amazing.

Red smiled and looked around. Red could hold her breath for quite a long time, so she was happy diving quite deep. s she was looking around, she felt a weird feeling inside her stomach like something was wrong. Suddenly, a loud 'whoosh!' was heard and she turned around to see in the distance, a great. White. Shark. Coming right towards her.

At first, Red didn't panic as she knew that was the worst thing to do and the creature might not even be angered, in which case it would just hopefully leave her alone. Alas, the creature actually sped up and shot towards Red. This was Red started to worry and suddenly, the great white swam right at her and she narrowly dodged it. The shark swam back round to face Red and that's when Red knew...she was in real danger. The shark shot at her again, and even though it didn't get to bite her, it swam right into her stomach and he swam across the top of it in panic. Red tried to remember what to do f ever in a shark attack, and then she remembered to make sudden movements and punch the shark in the nose, eyes or gills. However before she could do that the shark attacked her again, ripping a cut in her arm. Red wanted to scream in pain, but of course she couldn't, and she swung a hit at the shark with her other arm, punching it in the eye. The shark mostly didn't take any notice of this and opened its jaws to bite Red again, this time Red avoiding it. The blood from the large cut in her arm spread in the water, and Red swiped it at the shark in a scramble of terror and panic. The shark bit at Red again, forming a large but of her leg this time.

Back with the others, SC started to fee like there was something wrong.

"Ugh I have it."

"What?" Asked Green.

"That feeling."

"What that something's wrong?" Said Green.

"Yeah..."

"Look, it's Red, she's probably just met a dolphin or something like that, you know how much she loves the ocean." Said Green, looking at SC.

"Hmm...I guess your right." Said SC, feeling slightly reassured by this.

Red turned to the shark and in a final act of desperation before she ran out of air, kicked it in the nose as hard as she could, causing the shark to turn away and flee. She struggled up to the surface and gasped for air when she got to the top, she climbed onto the jet-ski, breathing heavily. She was having a panic attack. Red tried to drive the jet-ski back, but her hands were shaking to much, so she just sat there, sobbing and trying to cover the wounds with her bare hands. She ripped a piece of her shirt off to cover the wounds, but it bled right through. Properly hyperventilating now, she looked down in the water and thought of how she was going to alert her friends, but she didn't see any way of doing that. She was going have to wait. But what if she bled out?

On the shore, the others were still waiting, most of them now sitting down and chatting with each other. Everyone had expected Red to take a while, so they weren't worried. An hour passed and that's when they all started to worry, as the sun had set and it was now almost pitch black.

"You know, she's probably just lost track of time." Mango tried to reassure everyone, but even he, who wasn't an overthinker and the adult in the group, was worried about her.

Red was still sat on the boat until she finally made the decision to swim to shore. It was quite a long way, but she didn't care. Her hands were still shaking and the jet-ski had run out of gas, so she jumped into the now freezing water and started swimming. The water felt like it was freezing her inside out, but her survival instincts had kicked in and she was only focusing on that one thing. Surviving. As she got closer to shore, the others spotted her and started shouting and screaming her name. Her chest was aching, her body was freezing, her wounds were burning, but she didn't care. Red stumbled up and knelt down in the sand, still waist high in water but not being able to stand anymore. Despite being fully clothed and dry, SC waded over to her. She tried to stand up when SC was coming over to her, but just ended up falling into his arms. He and the others carried her onto dry land and Yellow and Blue ran to the nearby car to get the med kit. They came back soon after and quickly covered her wounds in bandages and compresses. No-one had time to ask questions, because by this time Red's whole body was shaking and everyone was wrapping towels around her. Red's eyes were slowly drooping and flickering closed. She was so tired.

"Don't let her fall asleep! She could have concussion!" Said Yellow urgently.

"Red Red Red l-look at me, look at me!" Said SC, holding her head.

Red's eyes flickered back open and she looked up at SC.

"S-Stay with me..ok?" SC said softly, giving her a loving smile.

She weakly smiled back and used all of remaining energy to stay awake for as long as she could. Luckily, Yellow and Blue were able to have a quick examination, clearing that she didn't have concussion, but she did have internal and external bleeding and she needed to be taken to hospital.
