“Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka IV” The Second Cours Airs in Winter 2023
The 11th and final episode of the second season of Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka IV: Shin Shou - Meikyuu-hen (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? IV) will air in January 2023. A key image and announcement video was also made public on the official Twitter account. Abema will air the anime at 11:00 p.m. on January 5 before it airs on Tokyo MX, BS11, and AT-X.

The skates’ wheels slipped from under the brunette, but she was quick to hold onto Shigaraki, who had decided against wearing skates. “Oh, fuck,” she cursed under her breath as she felt her heart nearly leap from her chest. “That was too close.”
The streets on the way to the prestigious hero academy were absent of people early in the morning to Shigaraki’s surprise. Usually, there would be a morning rush where they would have to fight against the flow of people, but today it was relatively empty. “Keep reaching for me like that every time you almost fall and my arms going to be out of commission, idiot,” he spoke in turn. “We could have gone out to skate tomorrow.”
“What would be the fun in that?” Souseiki said with a slight huff while she pushed away from him to slowly attempt skating once more. “Today is my birthday everything is way more special on your birthday, you know?”
“No,” but Shigaraki knew all too well. His birthdays had been much more entertaining the past few years since she has been around. A stupid slinky he had on his shelf was far more important to him than it should have been. “Do you remember where you’re supposed to be?”
Souseiki slowly turned to try and skate backward and surprisingly managed without eating shit. “Yeah, across the street. Come on. You think I’d fuck this one up for you?” Came her rhetorical question. After all the little “missions” they’ve been on the only one she had managed to lead astray was when she dropped Kurogiri’s coffee just as she entered through the front door. “Oh, this is it,” she smiled slowing down. “Go right on ahead, leader,” she giggled while teasing the man.
Shigaraki watched as she sat on the curb and began undoing her skates. “See you back home?”
From her spot on the floor, Souseiki hummed in confirmation. “Yeah. I’m going shopping first. Need anything?”
“I’m out of orange soda.”
Souseiki nodded as she stood up with her sneakers now on. “Have fun,” She smiled softly and watched him walk off across the street towards the academy doors that were crowded with the press. Soon his blue tresses blended into the multitude of people and she walked off towards the shopping center. On her way there, she pulled her phone out and dialed Kurogiri, who unsurprisingly always picked up on the first ring.
“Yabe Souseiki, are you alright?” He immediately asked thinking the worst. “Should I go right now? What’s your location?”
The addressed woman snickered as she entered the grocery store. “Hi, Kuro. Did you want anything specific from the store?” Souseiki asked picked up a basket. “We were out of some stuff, so I took it upon myself to do the shopping for you this time.”
On the other side of the line, Kurogiri let out an audible sigh of relief. “Thank you, Yabe Souseiki. Would you get me chunky monkey ice cream?”
Souseiki nodded her head as she picked up some fresh fruit, “Chunky monkey and orange soda, got it.”
Another sigh came from him, but this one a bit more irritated, “He shou-“
“ldn’t be drinking those,” She finished for him, “We know, Kuro, but come on he likes them. It’s not going to hurt him. Look, I’ll make sure to water it down for him, okay?” Souseiki bargained as she picked up a six-pack of the orange soda. “There are few things he enjoys in this world and this sugary drink is one of them. Let him live a little.”
“He’s living out his dream right now.”
Souseiki rolled her eyes as she walked around the bright grocery store. “Trying to better the world is not a dream. It is a god-given right,” she said in all seriousness. This she wasn’t joking about. If the hero fell at the hands of a villain the rest would be easy to overtake. Or so that is what Shigaraki has embedded into her head. The secret to a perfect world is one where the justice system isn’t determined by heroes. Heroes would need to be eradicated for everyone to live a peaceful life.
“Of course, you are right,” he responded in what seemed to be a strained voice. “There’s an incoming call. He must be ready.”
Souseiki smiled as she reached for the pint of ice cream, “Be safe, Kuro. I’ll see you two tonight,” she said in confidence. As the call ended, Souseiki stuffed the phone in her pocket and pushed the skates higher up onto her shoulder by the laces they hung from. In her mind, there was no doubt that they would come out to be victorious. Shigaraki had been working hard alongside some men to gather enough villains together for an attack no matter when it would come. This had to be it and even if it wasn’t she knew Shigaraki would not yield in his pursuit to destroy the hero society. Whatever would happen, she swore to help him and All for One in their journey in any way possible with her quirk. “This stupid quirk has got to be good for something,” she sighed as she scanned her items in the self-checkout lane before bagging them and walking out into the world once again.
Shigaraki and Kurogiri had attempted to strategize the fight between her, Shigaraki, and All Might, but it was no use. Their tag team was flawless with others who had “lower XP” as Shigaraki put it, but they alone did not have enough experience points to take down the number one hero all on their own. Since lack of experience was their dilemma, Shigaraki figured more lives were what he needed in order to help him achieve the goal. However, more lives would mean Souseiki could not tag along. Her quirk would get in the way, especially since she had no off switch to it.
Finally home, Souseiki unlocked the door and pushed it open with her hip. She juggled keeping everything in hand before dumping it all on the single couch. For once the place was silent, the sound of Kurogiri cleaning wasn't around nor was Shigaraki's button clicking disturbing the peace.
This silence was eerie and unsettling to her. It was new if anything. The brunette was now used to hearing some kind of soft noise, but here she was looking around the empty and silent home wishing for Kurogiri to warp into the living space. It took her a few minutes to realize the two weren't coming any time soon. By then she began putting away the food she had brought home and before treading into her own room to sit on the large bed and thumb through a comic book she had swiped from Shigaraki's shelf.
By two in the afternoon Souseiki was sound asleep in her room with the book beside her head. She slept peacefully until a loud thud sounded from the living space. Startled, the brunette sat up slowly and lowered herself off the bed with as much grace as she could muster to keep silent. The sound made her believe someone had knocked down the front door and an intruder was wandering around. Afraid of such a thing, she softly started turning the doorknob, but then she heard his voice, "Souseiki! Get out here and help!" Shigaraki's voice ricocheted off the walls as he groaned in pain.
At the sudden command, she ripped the door open and rushed out without hesitation. "Tomura!" Souseiki gasped as she saw him on the ground with bleeding limbs. Never had she actually seen him in distress or in pain, but the view made her heart thud. "I'll- hold on!" She said in a rush as she ran to gather bandages and some alcohol. "Kurogiri! What do I do?" Souseiki asked hysterically as she dropped herself beside Shigaraki on the floor with the supplies.
Kurogiri huffed beside him on the floor out of breath and sat up slowly to take the supplies from her, "I've got this, Yabe Souseiki. Please calm down. He will be alright."
Petrified for his life, Souseiki scrambled to her feet and helped Kurogiri set him up on the couch. "What happened? Did someone have guns?"
Shigaraki hissed in pain as Kurogiri began digging for the bullet in his shin, "No, Souseiki. I put these in myself," he replied with a sarcastic tone of voice. "Of course a hero had a gun." The brunette bit her lip as he gripped her hand and tightly. "It was a good call that you didn't go," he said through gritted teeth as a small piece of metal clashed onto the wooden flooring.
Souseiki sat on the floor beside him with her hand in his. She was speechless as she watched the invincible Shigaraki vocalize his pain for once. At that moment she realized the man she looked up to was merely a human. This didn't lessen her image of him; in fact, it made a fire churn in her stomach. She would somehow find a way to become stronger so nothing comes to harm him ever again.
As Kurogiri finished dressing his wounds, Shigaraki sat up so Souseiki could sit down. He laid back down slowly and set his head in her lap with a low groan. "Want to tell me what happened?" Souseiki asked while her fingers lightly touched the fresh scratch marks on his neck. She frowned at the sight of the scratches while taking back her words, "Never mind. Rest up.”

Epilogue Challenge: “Son”
There are a lot of sons in the Epilogue, so I’ll just write a brief paragraph about each of them.
Motomiya Taisuke (大輔; 12) is Daisuke’s son and the inheritor of Taichi’s Goggles. He grew up win the US but recently moved to Japan. He’s quiet, ambitious, and studious and his goal is to run his dad’s ramen Empire. He likes American football. He’s popular with the other kids because he always has the coolest toys, gadgets, and videogames. He has a friendly rivalry / crush on Mio Ichijouji. His dream is to have more siblings. His partner is a boy Chibimon. His godparents/sponsors are Ken and Miyako.
Takaishi Théo (テオ; 11) is the son of Takeru and his French ex-wife. His parents have split custody, and he travels between countries often. He’s very active and mischievous, and loves basketball and music. He’s creative and very funny and has a very active Tik Tok account. His partner is a girl Tokomon. His godparents/sponsors are Iori and Hikari.
Yagami Hikaru (ヒカル; 11) is Hikari’s son. He’s very outspoken, curious, and loves pranks. He and Théo are the same age and best friends, and are always getting into trouble together. He inherited some of his mom’s strange powers but they haven’t manifested themselves yet. His dream is to be a detective. He’s sometimes jealous of his mom’s affection for her students, and is very close to his uncle Taichi. His partner is a boy Nyaromon. His godparents/sponsors are Takeru and Miyako.
Kido Minato (港; 10) is Jou’s son. He’s smart but that keen on studying and has no interest in becoming a doctor. He has a very chill approach to life. He loves animals, cooking and anything connected to water, especially surf. He often tags along in Théo and Hikaru’s adventures. He likes spending his holidays with is uncle Shin and loves listening to crazy Digimon stories. His partner is a boy Pukamon. His godparents/sponsors are Yamato and Mimi.
Tachikawa Noah (ノア; 7) is Mimi’s son. He grew up in the US and his Japanese is a bit faulty. He’s being raised in a very Western way that sometimes causes clashes with the other kids. He’s very warm and touchy-feely. His grandparents treat him like an absolute god, but Mimi makes sure he isn’t spoiled. He loves videogames and is already an expert cook. His partner is a boy Tanemon. His godparents/sponsors are Jou and Sora.
Ichijouji Shou (翔; 7) is Mio’s younger brother. He’s very bright and curious and loves reading and drawing. He has a vivid imagination and can sometimes walk away chasing a butterfly or a lizard or an interesting light. He’s dyslexic. His partner is a girl Minomon. His godparents/sponsors are Hikari and Iori.
Yagami Daigo (大吾; 6) is Taichi’s son. He’s quite shy and reserved and doesn’t like sports. He prefers quieter hobbies like photography and music. His dream is to become either a digimon doctor or an astronaut. Speaking of which, he’s Yamato’s greatest fan (he even found some Knife of Day music and liked it), and so there’s nothing he loves more than to spend a lot of time at the Takenouchi-Ishida household. His parter is a girl Koromon. His godparents/sponsors are Yamato and Sora.
Takenouchi Ren (2) is Hana’s younger brother. Although he’s a toddler, he’s already showing a fierce personality and s strong interest in football. He’s extremely bright and is always smiling. His partner is a boy Tsunomon. His godparents/sponsors are Jou and Meiko.
Ichijouji Akira (陽; 0) is Mio and Shou’s baby brother and, as of 2028, the youngest member of the generation. He wasn’t exactly an “accident”, as both Miyako and (especially) Ken planned on having a large family, although they made sure they only had kids every 6/7 years. As of know, his only personality trait is that he loves vegetables and crawling away from his mum at the speed of light. His partner is a boy Minomon. His godparents/sponsors are Mimi and Koushirou.

Fall 2017 Preview
Another season, another... season.
1 Houseki no Kuni: This might be one that looks silly in three months but it's definitely the show I'm most excited for right now. 3D anime has been nothing but good to me for the past few years and has proven to me that both cute girls and the spirit of Japanese anime can be preserved in 3D. This one has got an out-there concept and aesthetic and I can't wait to see what they do with it. Add to that the best voice cast of the season and you've got yourself a hype.
2 Blend S: This is going to be amazing. Just look at what it says under the title in the logo. [x]SADISTIC [x]TSUNDERE [x]IMOUTO [x]ONEESAN [x]IDOL. It's got all the ingredients: adorable character design, a blondenblu, and a cafe theme which automatically makes me think it's better because of subconscious influence from Gochiusa. It can't miss!
3 Konohana Kitan: Cute shrine shenanigans! Blend S is my pick for cute girls doing cute things this season but this show doesn't look like it's going to lag very far behind. The director is the guy responsible for a couple of criminally underrated classics: Ebiten and Nagasarete Airantou.
4 Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou: This looks like it could be what I really wanted out of Made in Abyss: cute girls having slow adventures at the end of the world. The ever-masterful Fudeyasu Kazuyuki is penning the adaptation, so it's got everything going for it. A definite AOTS contender.
5 Mahoutsukai no Yome: This looks like one of the most... serious? shows of next season? I'm not really sure how to put it. It actually looks like it has an interesting plot and setting and stuff? Anime has broken my brain's ability to think about fiction outside of the frame of cute girls. Girls do look cute though!
6 Kino no Tabi: Kino is one of those things I've always heard about being really good but never had anything to do with. Never saw the old anime (it was already old when I started watching anime in 2004) or read any of the novel, but by all accounts it's one of the best LNs out there. Kuroboshi Kouhaku's stock couldn't be higher right now, so it's as good a time as any to do a new adaptation of it. Ao-chan and Ayaneru is a power duo in the cast department so I have high hopes for this one.
7 Imouto Sae Ireba Ii: I recently read the first volume of the LN this is based on, and honestly, I thought it was kind of bad. But if there's one thought I had while reading it, it was "this should really be an anime and not a book." There's literally no plot to speak of, it's just sequential vignettes of characters doing random things like playing a tabletop RPG or going to Okinawa because reasons. That makes for a shitty novel, but sounds like it'll be right up my alley for an anime. Plus Oonuma Shin is directing, and you know he's one of my all-time favorites.
8 Boku no Kanojo ga Majimesugiru Shobicchi na Ken: Now this, lads, is anime. It's an anime about dirty jokes starring Yuuki Aoi, how can it NOT be good?
9 Himouto! Umaru-chan R: I keep forgetting this is coming next season entirely. Umaru is one of those shows that firmly occupies a distinct "second tier" of cute girl doing cute thing shows. Not bad by any stretch of the imagination, and I have fond memories of the first season, but just lacking that je nais sais quoi that your Gochiusas and Hidamaris have. Looking forward to more Kirie-chan, who is best girl.
10 Two Car: When I see the title of this show (it's つうかあ in Japanese) I just hear the train driver from Densha de Go announcing that he's passing through a station. Everyone thinks of the same thing when you mention an all-girl sports anime based on an obscure or fictionalized concept; I don't think I even need to mention it by name. That's right, but I don't think this will be nearly as lewd as Keijo! No but in all seriousness, it's gonna be Garupan but with sidecars. I just wish the girls wore lewd outfits or something instead of race suits. What can I say, I am simple man.
11 Kujira no Ko-ra wa Sunajou ni Utau: Looks fantasy as fuck. Ishiguro Kyouhei is directing his first anime since the best show of last year, Occultic;Nine, and the usually capable Yokote Michiko is on the script (although I haven't actually liked anything she's written since uh, I guess Sekkou Boys would be the last one...) Still, this kind of artsy-fartsy show looks like a good followup to O;9 for Ishiguro so I'm interested in how it turns out.
12 Dies irae: Everyone says the game this is based on is a masterpiece, or whatever, but all anyone is going to talk about with this show is it's that one crowdfunded show. If it turns out to be bad everyone is going to feel real stupid. The character designs look pretty ugly to my taste, although Nabatame Hitomi's character is pretty cute. Man, when was the last time Naba-nee played a major heroine?
13 Ousama Game The Animation: Ah yes the Osama Game. Death game stories are always way too far up their own ass; I think the only good one I've seen was Akuma no Riddle and that was solely good because the entire cast was cute girls. There's some pretty cute girls in this one too but it looks like most of the main cast is dudes. Nice to see Pine Jam continue to raise their profile though.
14 URAHARA: The joshiryoku is takai with this one. The art looks aesthetic but the PV makes it look kind of cheap and doesn't inspire confidence. I'm not sure if Takahashi Natsuko has ever written an original anime of note so it's up in the air how this one turns out.
15 Wake Up, Girls! Shinshou: Ah WUG, or as it's known in the business, Yamakan's Folly. Funnily enough, Yamakan isn't even bothering to direct this one and I'm really interested to see if that's a good or a bad thing. WUG is definitely at the bottom of the tier ranking for idol anime but it's kind of taken on a life of its own, with the 3D version of the Wake Up Girls being pretty successful. The first anime was just okay; it'll be cool if they could pull an actually good one out of their hats.
16 Lovelive! Sunshine!!: Why do I continue to subject myself to aidorus. The first season of Sunshine was garbo and I hated it for just being the exact same thing as the original but worse. And yet I'm going to happily watch the second season because it's gonna have more Yohane in it, and Yohane is love, Yohane is life.
17 Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru -Washio Sumi no Shou-/-Yuusha no Shou-: Yuyuyu may have left a sour taste in a lot of mouths with the way it ended, but it was a complete story that actually, you know, ended. I'm really not sure we actually need more stories in this world, much less a prequel. We all already know what the twists are now so I'm not sure how they'll make it compelling. The second part of this weird production actually is a sequel but I think I want that even less than I do a prequel. Just leave the memories alone! At least it's got Hanabee.
18 Netojuu no Susume: Dork romance. Almost certainly a short, but Fudeyasu is writing it so it'll surely be good for a laugh.
19 UQ HOLDER! Mahou Sensei Negima 2: HIKARU KAZE WO OIKOSHITARA NANI GA MATTEIRU NO KANA AMEFURI DEMO HEIKI NIJI NI NARU YOOOO KARAFURU HAPPY MATERIARU GO!! KIMI NI KITTO AERU NE CHIISANA YUUKI WO SAKASEYOUUUUUUUUUU
20 Omiai Aite wa Oshiego, Tsuyoki na, Mondaiji: This is clearly shoujo bait but I'm a total sucker for cute teacher chan-nees and this one looks cute as hell. It's the first show that airs in the season so I'll probably end up checking it out just because of that, but I don't expect to finish it. It's probbaly going to end up being a weird abusive relationship because shoujo.
21 Shokugeki no Souma San no Sara: Unfortunately I won't be watching this since Tane-chan's role was recast. Nothing against Rierie but da Tane was literally half the reason I even watched this series (the other half being Alice who never gets enough screentime anyway).

Fire Force Chapter 77, “The One That Connects”
Translated from Japanese to Portuguese to English
Page 2
Narration: “The Eighth infiltrated the Nether but were separated by the White Hood. Will Vulcan and Obi be able to defeat Dr. Giovanni?!”
There is an image of a white ring against the black background, a light shining from the very bottom of it. Next to it is written, “The vision that lies beyond the flames is…”
Page 3
With his new penguin-shaped helmet propelling him forward, Vulcan smashes through Giovanni’s robotics. Vulcan lands on his belly and lowers the helmet.
Narration: “To bring Lisa back, Vulcan makes a blow with conviction! The name of that technique is Penguincete!”
Vulcan: “What shoddy machinery you made!”
Giovanni merely laughs, pulling the remaining robotics back under his cloak.
Giovanni: “Kukuku.”

Vulcan crawls to LIsa, who is still on the floor.
Vulcan: “Lisa…”
Obi lifts the train tracks and rushes at Giovanni.
Obi: “Good work!”
Giovanni’s cloak pulls back, revealing his Fire Brigade cloak, more mechanical arms extending from the cloak. HIs hand remain clawed.
Giovanni: “Not bad--for someone without skill.”

Obi shoves the tracks at Giovanni, but the hands from his cloak grab the tiers to block.
Obi: “You’re a firefighter, too! How can someone sworn to save civilians from fire then create artificial flame humans? Who’s this Preacher you both talk about?!”
Giovanni: “You said that firefighters’ motto is to protect the lives and property of civilians, correct? But do not you realize how tiny that is? People and emotions. This is all very complicated. Try to see the whole picture. Humans are nothing more than energy in this world. Since their existence is insignificant, they should burn to become part of that star.”

Obi swings the tracks to knock away Giovanni’s cape-hands.
Obi: “Your cult is mistaken!”
As Giovanni explains, flames appear.
Giovanni: “Approximately 250 years ago, the Great Disaster happened here, on this planet. What caused it also created the Adora Burst. You already know all of this, the origin of the Adora Burst. But before our solar calendar, before that Great Disaster, the human race already feared this place, the Nether.”

Obi lifts the tracks and bring them down in front of Giovanni, trying to strike him.
Obi: “It doesn’t matter the cause--stop your work! Stop the combustion of humans! There is no justification for burning a person!”
Obi then starts to climb up the tracks, to Giovanni’s surprise.
Giovanni: “!!! That rail is not a fire truck’s ladder…”

Giovanni: “The phenomenon of human combustion is a divine providence. You dare oppose it?”
Obi then leaps from the top, coming down with a pile driver to Giovanni’s neck and face.
Obi: “Your insects are artificial!”

Giovanni reveals what looks like a water sprinkler from his chest--which sends flames out and knocks back Obi.
Giovanni: “Do you think the Preacher is a normal human just like you?”
Obi: “They’re not human?! Are you saying it's a god or something?! No matter what it is, it’s an image idolized by you heretics!”
Giovanni: “What a...What a stupid thought. An idolized image? So what would be the Sun God of your church? What’s the use of devoting yourself to a god when you don’t know whether he exists, if he is not able to fulfill your desires? Do you think Emperor Raffles is the reincarnation of God?”
Obi: “Regardless, the Church of the Sun doesn’t burn people!”

Giovanni: “The Preacher is not a mere symbol.”
Obi: “Thanks for telling me the Preacher’s secret.”
Giovanni: “Someone without skill as you are not able to understand the existence of the Preacher. Shinra Kusakabe must be feeling it more and more.”
Elsewhere, Licht sees Shinra doubled over, struggling to breathe. Licht starts to get excited as he realizes something.
Licht: “Shinra-kun? You alright?”
Shinra: “...”
Licht: “This is the...'Adora Link'? Shinra-kun! Ado-Adora Link. This is the Adora Link, isn’t it?!”

Shinra is drooling...onto himself. Flames curls from bones coming from the ground, clawed skeletal hands grabbing at him.
Page 12
One smiling horned skeleton rises, its hand coming to Shinra’s face. Shinra’s eye has a flame burning out its pupil.
Shinra: “Where...am I?”
Page 13
A ring of white appears over black, light at its bottom.
From the horned skeleton appears a tail, coming towards Shinra’s back. Both of the skeleton’s hands reach for Shinra’s face.
Shrina: “Who...are you?”

The skeleton is replaced with Shinra’s mother, holding her hand out to him.
Shinra’s mother: “Shinra.”
She disappears in flames. Shinra is now a child, looking up a horned fire demon.

Now Shinra is holding the hand of Leo Burns, among the debris of his burnt home. But Burns’s eye is aflame, before the skeletal hand rises, slashing at Burns’s face, causing him to fall to his knees, his tongue hanging from his mouth.

Now handlike shadows appear around baby Sho. Shinra is a child, a blanket tied around his neck like a superhero cape.
Shinra: “Shou…”
Page 17
Sho reaches for Shinra’s nose, causing the older brother to smile.
The ring enlarges. Its light shines over Shinra and Sho, a claw emerging from it, heading towards them.
Page 18
Shinra is sweating, seated on the floor, staring at nothing.
Licht: “Shin...ra-kun. Shinra-kun! Shinra-kun!!! Are you okay, Shinra-kun?!”
Shinra: “What...I…?!”
Freshly scorched clawed footprints are on the pavement.
Shinra: (thinking) “Again…”

Shinra: (thinking) “The Devil’s footprints…”
Licht: “What is it?”
Shinra: “You see anything? He's...up that way.”
Shinra thinks about Sho.
Shinra: “Sho’s after this…”
Narration: “The Link again! Where do these footprints lead? To be continued in Chapter 78: 'Brothers.'”
