i think we all know now that steve harrington’s love language is acts of service. so, when he accidentally stumbles upon your sephora wish list, he’s out half his paycheck by the time he’s done scrolling through the whole thing.

you’d been scrolling the site on your laptop just moments before, having gotten up to get some water. steve meanders himself over to your open laptop, eyes scanning the electronic items. you must have had at least 100 different pretty times saved to this list. he sees lip glosses, lip liners, lip oils (he still doesn’t quite understand the difference between the three), foundations, and various colorful palettes that overwhelm him. he knows enough about your makeup routine, having seen you perform it so many times for his adoring eyes. looking at your plentiful list, though, he doesn’t quite understand how highlight is different than blush, and what possible occasion could prompt wishing for hot pink eyeshadow. his heart hurts, though, to see how much his baby’s been wanting, knowing you don’t treat yourself nearly enough to these things. he simply thinks you should have everything you’ve ever wanted in the entire universe. the fact that he could’ve been buying you these things this whole time doesn’t sit right with him, not when he can spoil you as much as he wants. it makes his chest puff up when he sees you sitting pretty in a cute little outfit he bought you, or when your eyes sparkle after getting a manicure he treated you with. he’s proud to provide for his girl. he allows you the financial independence you need, and he knows you could buy these things for yourself if you wanted to. but it warms his heart to be able to take that load off of you, to shower you in nice things just because he loves you.

your now full water bottle announces your return, ice rattling against the stainless steel as you walk. he doesn’t look up, though. he feels you slither under his one arm, wrapping yourself around him like a koala. he holds you to him with one big hand, pressing kisses to your cheek, eyes never leaving the screen as he presses ‘add to cart’ on nearly every item.

‘what’re you doing over here, big guy?” you croon, knowing exactly what he’s doing.

big guy. that name, as well as your long nails (that he also paid for) scratching the hair at the nape of his neck, makes him shudder. he feels your breath tickle his skin as you huff out a sweet chuckle.

“you’re a brat,” he mutters, “y’know you’re gonna get everything you want from me, hm? ‘s that why you hid this list from me for so long? can’t handle it when i spoil you the way you deserve, huh baby?” he punctures his question with a wet, sloppy kiss.

“i can handle it,” your whisper fans gently across his face, a breathless, “thank you, thank you,” escapes your lips as you press a gentle kiss to his neck, your chin resting against his shoulder and your arms clinging to his neck like a lifeline. “too good to me,” you mutter under your breath. steve catches it, though. he always does.

“none of that,” he says between gentle kisses all over your face and neck, “i want to. let me.” he’s only satisfied when he feels you nod against him, squeezing him tighter, prompting a sweet “i love you” to tumble past his lips.

“i love you more,” he can hear the grateful tears in your voice.

“not possible,” he presses one last kiss to your lips before regretfully unwrapping you from him. “i need to go get my credit card,” one more kiss, “i’m buying everything on the list,” one more kiss before he jogs away, cheeks hurting from his wide smile.

"just an eyeliner? mhmm, I know." he said with a smirk, but was happy to see you happy.

you went inside, going straight to where the eyeliners would be and he followed just behind you.

"$25 for a marker?" he widened his eyes and you chuckled. "that's overpriced."

"yeah but it's waterproof!" you said, swatching it on the back of your hand.

"I can give you a permanent marker for less than half of that!" he laughed, looking at all the other products in the aisle. "damn, I didn't think makeup was this expensive."

"it is." you said, knowing well that there were cheaper products. "babe, what do you think about this color?" you asked, holding a liquid lipstick.

"y/n…"

"please, it's just this one." you pouted.

"fine." he laughed, giving you a kiss on the forehead and going with you to check out.

he ended up paying for you, getting all flustered to see you happy.

✧.* ghost:

"I just need to get a few things, I promise, it won't take long!" you dragged simon by the arm and he almost stumbled on the bags he carried.

"love, you just said that at the last store an hour ago." he chuckled.

"last one, I promise!" you mumbled, to which he could only sigh and follow you.

you stopped to see the eyeshadow palettes, swatching the colors on your arm and inspecting them. he just stood there with the bags in his hand, tired of having to be social all day, until his eyes met the price of stuff.

"bloody hell, darling, $50 for twelve colors? what's in them? the cure for cancer?" his eyes widened when you took the palette in your hands. "oh my god, $30 for that? are you kidding me? jesus, love, I'm going bankrupt."

you could only laugh at his reaction and the way his tired eyes followed you around the store as you picked more stuff, not even daring to ask the price of them. when you had finished shopping, you bet he stopped to get some tea on the way back home.

✧.* price:

"is this what you put on my skin that day, sweetheart? we should get this f' you. oh my god this is expensive, did you waste your expensive products on me?"

"I didn't waste them." you laughed, picking up some face masks. "I want you to have smooth skin just like me."

he isn't used to the price of beauty products, but he's also not surprised that they're overpriced. it costs x for you to get your hair products and have the most soft hair ever? swipe his credit card. costs y to get skincare products just so your skin is smooth when he's caressing your face? swipe his credit card.

usually ends up with a gigantic bill, but if you're happy he's happy.

stops by the perfumes when you're not looking to get you a new one, you have no clue how but he ended up getting your favorite.

✧.* soap:

"come here." you called him, grabbing a foundation, snatching his arm and swatching on it to see if it had enough coverage.

"jesus, what is this?" he sniffed, making you laugh.

"foundation." you inspected his arm, watching if the color would oxidate. "hm, I don't like it."

you'd leave him unattended for a minute and he would come back with a hand on his eye, complaining that it was hurting.

"lass, got something in my eye, ow, ow."

"what did you do, johnny?" you tried to wipe it off, but it was glossy and you ended up smearing it even more.

"ow, I put that thing over there-" he pointed to a section of lip plumpers, and you could only take a glance at it before he started to be a lot more dramatic. "-in my eye, ow, help, please."

you could barely breathe at how much you laughed, asking for a makeup wipe to try and get rid of the gloss. he was mumbling some things under his breath, cursing at you playfully for leaving him alone.

when you finally took it off, he still felt like his eye was burning, and you two had to leave the store due to how badly you two were laughing. not to mention that he was left with a swollen eye.

omg so your eyeshadow is always BALLER please share your secrets. do you use primer? have brush opinions? favorite brands?

OMG YES i love talking about makeup. just ftr I used to work at Ulta and part of the dress code was a FULL face of makeup so i got good cause it was literlaly my job. ok

yes I use the Smashbox eye primer in the silver tube, it's been my holy grail primer for years, it's GOOD and worth the money. after i prime i let it set for a sec and then i set it with translucent powder. then i apply my shadows on top of the translucent powder (my fav rn is the Laura Mercier one in the sephora birthday gift last year lol)

I have a billion brushes from many brands but my go to is Real Techniques cause they're cheep and readily available at drugstores. they're soft! my rich person dream is to have a full set of Hakuhodo brushes tho. theyre insane.

if u are just getting started with eyeshadow i really recommend Colourpop; they have a palette for every occasion and they're super affordable and their formula is nice and soft and blendable.

Things Delphi Gives the Boys for Their Birthdays

I was inspired by that screencap of Lucifer saying that he likes putting on a nice pair of socks...idk why. (Actually I do know why. It's because I've made socks before and Delphi would absolutely make the old man his own pair of socks...)

A hand-knit pair of socks in a merino wool blend (so soft, so warm), a bottle of his favorite Demonus, a factory tour for just the two of them (because they interest her too, dammit!), a cursed record he's been looking for, a night in dancing by the fire in the music room (having sent his brothers away for the evening)

A custom set of rings for his left hand to match the ones he wears on his right (it's not a proposal, okay? It's an appeal to his greed), a hand-knit scarf that he'll only wear because she made it for him, a SMALL shopping trip

She's going to Sephora and building him a custom eyeshadow palette (fight me, he loves it), a spa day at one of his favorite resorts, followed by a shopping trip (where he gets to dress them both), then they're going clubbing

Beel and Belphie

The twins share a birthday, so at least part of their day will be together. But...

Beel's presents will start with a coupon for one (1) home cooked meal outside of regular dinner duty whenever he'd like to redeem it, a lunch date at Hell's Kitchen, then restaurant hopping for dessert

Belphie is getting a crocheted cow plushie (made with velvet yarn so that it'll be super soft for cuddling), a human world star projector, and probably a nap together in either the attic or the planetarium.

The night will end out watching TV curled up between the two (Because she has to spend time with both her boys together on their birthday.)

so i've been hoarding my ulta rewards points for soooo long (i have like $250 in points) and now i'm finally spending them but i don't know exactly what i want to get!! thinking about maybe getting some Snif samples, maybe some new hair products, a set of L'Occitane hand creams... do you have any ulta faves?? should i get lots of little things that i've been wanting to try or one big special thing?? idk!!

ooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh my god have you come to the right person ..you are speaking to the ultimate ulta sephora makeup shopper in general basically of all time i am insane im like crazy i have a shopping problem legitimately this response is going to be so long actually let me put this under a fucking read more because its going to be like ten miles long.

i would need to know more about your specific likes and dislikes personally but i ALWAYS recommend l’occitane stuff their hand creams especially are so lovely!! they dont carry their full range of stuff in ulta but i also love their almond milk concentrate it smells sooo good like yummy sweet milky marzipan and it makes your skin so soft. but its so expensive. if you like eye makeup the natasha denona palettes are so insanely good also and not too outrageously priced imo for the quality especially! they are some of the greatest eyeshadow formulas on the market i especially love the i need a nude palette and the my dream. and snif has never deeply impressed me but if the notes look interesting to you definitely go for a sample set! theres no frags at ulta that i absolutely die hard adore honestly..i have idole nectar that i got w my own points lol that i like quite a bit! and vacation edt is good i have that that i also got w points lmao but its not summer anymore so it wont be appropriate to break out for a while now again.

IF you wanted to get one big splurgey thing ulta does carry pat mcgrath now and her palettes are to DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE for motherships are so wonderfully amazing like owning an art piece fr….but thats if you like eye makeup. let me just make you a couple of sample carts of stuff i would buy actually and live vicariously through you

these are just a couple oflike random configurations of things around the 250ish mark that i thought you might like!! and stuff that i would personally buy thrown in LOL. i can make you more if yoy want although im not well versed in like haircare cuz my hair is pin straight and i dont do much to it other than it being color treated hehehe

they also carry chanel makeup and i love the liquid blush thingy its so cute…i would love to try more of chanels makeup so i would def be buying theircream bronzer + more of the blushes if i had a bunch of points to redeem. and prob a dior lip liner or two cuz they have those now

I've spent the better part of yesterday afternoon convincing myself I don't need a mini wok station or a raclette grill, tell me about something you don't have any way to justify buying but you just want anyway? Either bc it sounds fun or kind of neat or bc you just always wanted it :)

You chose this as the right week to use this question, because I was just in Montréal a few days ago and I went to a mall while I was there

The first thing I saw that I wanted but couldn't justify was an eyeshadow palette I've been eyeing up online ever since it was launched, probably a year ago but I'm not sure. It's pink, which is my favourite colour, and it smells like bubblegum, which I love as both a scent and a flavour, and the exterior of the palette looks like a Game Boy Advance, which is the handheld gaming system I had as a kid. However, I have to simply trust the claims that it smells like bubblegum, because Sephora had it displayed very close to the perfume section, so the perfumes were overpowering the smell of the palette 🥲 And then it was $36 for 8 shades! I'm not someone who really buys high-end makeup, so I'll probably wait until the palette goes on sale somewhere

There was also a strong temptation while I was at Sephora to get a mini of the Orgasm blush, but I've heard that it's overhyped, so I'm not sure if it would be any better than a similar-looking drugstore blush I already own

Another thing I saw that I wanted was a purse that was made of really soft faux fur, it had floppy bunny ears on it, it was about the size I would need for a purse, and it was only $20, but I had limited space in my very small suitcase, so I wasn't sure if I could bring it back with me, and I don't really need new purses, I just want new purses

I also saw a $130 Lego kit to build Mjölnir, and Thor is my mom's favourite superhero so it could've been a Christmas present for her, but that was both too much money AND too big to take home!

#i did get some stuff though it was just a lot of very small things #like at sephora i found a mini of a product made specifically for my moms skin condition #or at lush i got some small soaps for our catsitters and a lotion for my friend and a mini body wash for myself #and shoutout to the employee at one store who found out im from ontario and said 'i hope you enjoy your visit in this godforsaken province'#overall it was a good trip #some of my interactions were entirely in french but everyone was chill and understanding when i needed english #at the end of thursday my brain was fried but i dont even think that was due to language barriers it was just *gestures vaguely*#thursday evening i walked into tim hortons and was like *deep sigh* 'parlez-vous anglais?'#bc i wanted to speak french but could barely speak english lol

blog beginnings: skincare + makeup

currently in the mood to try blogging again. today is my day off, and i promised myself that i will let boredom takeover my life more often. i cherish boring days because this is the time when i embrace doing random things and completely abandon any type of planning.

today i feel like talking about makeup and skincare. im not an expert though, just an enthusiast.

for skincare, i usually wear makeup and sunscreen (laneige hydro UV defense), so i like to take it off using the farmacy green clean cleansing balm. i ran out of this product recently, and sephora canada stopped carrying them (honestly RUDE), so i got a small size of the clinique take the day off charcoal cleansing balm just to try it out. i am not sure if im a fan of the clinique one... it doesn't do the job as good as the farmacy one 😐 after that i cleanse my face with the inkey list salicylic acid cleanser cause im a double cleanse girlie.

im on the hunt for a new toner so that's coming soon, and i recently got the needly daily toner pads which are so popular in korea right now. i tried it and i found that it already made me skin so soft and balanced after just 1 day of use 😮 of course im going to keep using this. after this i would use serums but im also out of the ordinary niacinamide serum so it's not in the photo. then i use a moisturizer (innisfree green tea hyaluronic acid cream).

sometimes i do masks too!

i enjoy using makeup but im not as interested in it as i am with skincare for some reason 😋 i like to change up the products i use but the ones i have been using for a long time are these ones:

tarte face tape foundation (not pictured because im trying sephora's best skin ever foundation as i heard it's a dupe. it's not. maybe in the first hour? it doesn't last as long as the face tape foundation. listen, i know it can cost your kidneys, but the tarte foundation is amazing unfortunately 🤠)

tarte shape tape concealer (using a mini one right now because im looking for a dupe… again, this shit is expensive.)

glossier boy brow (i cannot find any good dupes either. love love love this product)

glossier pro-tip eyeliner (i love this because ive been in countless situations where i cried: went to therapy sessions where i cried, i was wearing this to the hospital when my dad was sick and i cried, i went to class and talked about heavy issues and i cried... and it never smudged. no racoon eyes. thank you glossier.)

kat von d everlasting liquid lipstick (which has been discontinued apparently. i love the lolita ii shade though. oh well)

kissme heroine make mascara (the only mascara for me. dont sleep on jbeauty! in the pic i also have the maybelline sky high mascara but i find that it doesn't last as long as kissme)

tarte aquaflash foundation brush (mermaid vibes, but also reeeaallly great when im using liquid products)

rare beauty liquid touch foundation brush (im starting to really like rare beauty)

newer ones im trying:

lys no limits cream bronzer stick (it's okay. very creamy and blendable!)

colorgram fruity glass tint (ummm no. the packaging is so cute but the product itself is a pass for me)

i use two eyeshadow palettes: colourpop smoke & roses and huda beauty rose quartz because i love pink shades and subtle glitter

colourpop sailormoon pink powder blush (i mean it's pink. and it's sailormoon.)

anastasia beverly hills translucent setting powder (i really want the charlotte tilbury one)

i have no setting spray at the moment but usually it's the nyx dewy finish setting spray. i also want the charlotte tilbury one...

as you may have noticed, i need to go shopping to restock 😋 i hope this entertained you a little bit, or even picked up some useful recommendations and ideas for your own skincare and makeup routine 😊 haircare, on the other hand, is a whole other beast.

I have really been wanting to try out merit and saie beauty recently; I have absolutely loved their branding and philosophies so it’s only a matter of time before i get some of their products for myself. I am someone who doesn’t really like traveling with powder products since they are more likely to shatter; i’d rather have cream products, where even if they break, i can use them in a different container instead of having powder everywhere. All of these formulas are creams or liquids that are perfect for me to travel with. Plus, all of these products would be what I would reach for when I wanted a little pick me up, not so much full glam full cover makeup. I think the last time I did that was for my high school senior pictures. Because I was being professionally photographed.

I do have a larger beauty wishlist, but these are my want-wants, really, as opposed to what i would like to try and use daily.

Most of my skincare wants are just more rich moisturizers. I tend to have dry skin, unless it’s peak summer when it feels like I’m in a rice cooker, since that is super humid.

No matter how much I love beauty products, I do not wish to have the 2016 makeup collections, where there is so much that it is useless. If I ever get there in my career, I fully intend to give that surplus to someone who could use the bulk of it, like a makeup artist. I don’t know if I’ll ever get there, but I know I don’t want 80 foundations just rolling around in a drawer. That goes for skincare too; I do not want the skincare tiktoker collection that will expire in 6 months. I think, in a small thought, the best way to actually review that much product without wasting it would be to keep notes on the different products and how they worked, and how they compare to other products as a frame of reference, then use the product. I know for me that if I really need to use a skincare product before it goes bad, I’ll use it on my body. But that also would take more effort than a lot of people want to put into something, and I’m aware of that.

uhh, makeup preferences? Both products and how you want to look?

Love doing my makeup!!!!

-I first start with eyes. I use the fenty beauty pro filter concealer under my eyes and blend that in with a damp sponge. I wouldn’t recommend this concealer to other people though as it cakes and creases very easily. I’m almost done with the bottle after years so I’m eager to switch to something else

- I’ll then conceal any spots or redness on the rest of my face as well. I usually avoid doing my nose because I feel like for me it looks very awkward

- i set everything using the Anastasia setting power on my face.

- when that’s done I go in with eyeliner. I use the Sephora brand liquid liner, and then I’ll tight line using a pencil liner going outwards into the wing to smoke it out.

- i wish I was an eyeshadow girl but hooded lids can be so frustrating :((. When I do use eyeshadow however it’s above my brow bone using an elf cosmetics palette.

- mascara!!! I use the canmake waterproof curl holder and waterproof mascara after curling my lashes. This works WONDERS for short straight lashes like mine but fair warning, you’re going to need to buy their mascara remover too because otherwise the formula is so good it doesn’t come off.

- contour! I use a Lancôme contour on my cheekbones and nose to put some color back into my face!!!

-highlighter; I use the fenty beauty highlighter and i swear by this product. It’s pricy but it’s so pigmented and even though I find a lot of FB as overrated, this is not one of the products that are. I use it on my cheekbones, nose, and Cupid’s bow.

-Lashes!!! I get my lashes off of Amazon, but I like wispy lashes. It really depends on what I’m feeling though as sometimes I feel like lashes suit my look and other times if feels like just mascara is fine.

- lips; I use a brown lip liner to outline my lips, then I’ll use revlon lipstick in black cherry to give them some color and go over all of it in clear gloss!!!

I prefer a more red tint to them, they just give the lips such a pretty look. This is one of the items I was already going to purchase the exact shade too! I have mainly been wearing tinted lip balms in my day to day life. Kosa Sport “Pulse” Hyaluronic Lip Balm Full Size I used to hate them, but something has changed! The shade is a beautiful nude, and feels very comfortable on the lips. However, my favorite way to use it, is to mix it in with a moisturizer and lather it on my body. If used lightly, this gold powder actually works pretty well as a highlight for my fairer skin tone. RMS Beauty Living Glow Face and Body Powder travel size I do have the full size of this mascara and I have been loving it!
