I could write an essay on how the entire GOT soundtrack is filled with a sense of heartache, pain, and anger. How it correlates and, in fact, enhances the story because you feel it so much through the music alone and can also help express characters,,,,, I just- iURHRGRGEHEJ
I AM COMPLETELY SANE AND NORMAL ABOUT THIS GAME GUYS

Finally! Someone who thinks it wouldn't be a narrative mistake to bring back the champions!!
I've always seen people say that bringing them back takes away from the tragedy of their deaths, but we never got to know them enough for that to feel like a proper tragedy.
Like, they gave us one of the coolest concepts for a Zelda game story wise (Link having an actual team who are supposed to fight alongside him against Ganon instad of just people helping him along the way) and they kill them off before the game starts???
Bringing them back not only helps us to know them better but can actually improve on the tragedy thing. All of the champions have been dead for 100 years, a lot of stuff has changed and seeing their reactions to that change would be more interesting than them staying dead.
welcome to the party anon!!! i'm just selfish and i want the champions back!!!
honestly, the way the champions' presence was handled in botw in itself is a narrative mistake lol. if the point was teach link about loss and sacrifice, nintendo sure did a great job of showcasing that by. giving us absolutely nothing about the champions' importance in their respective societies. /s
ok that's a lie, i think they showed that profound impact of loss and sacrifice at least somewhat well with mipha and the zoras actually. since the zora live a long time, plenty of them are still alive from the time of the calamity such as muzu, who still held a lot of resentment and blame towards link for mipha's death, or sidon, who is always looking at mipha's statue when you interact with him at the zora's domain. the cutscene after you defeat waterblight, talk to mipha's spirit, and then position ruta to point at the castle has got to be one of the most heart-wrenching moments in the entire game. LIKE HELLOOOOO THIS PART RIGHT HERE MAKES ME FUCKING BAWL MY EYES OUT 😭😭😭 so even though we only get to know mipha for a short period of time, we could at least see and feel the effect of her death in her people and how she felt the effect her death on her people. this is a good example of portraying loss and sacrifice, for me at least.
but i can't say the same for the other champions, they don't seem to be as wrecked about their champion as the zora do. and that probably has to do with the fact that the other races don't live as long as the zora, so unlike them, the characters of other races that you interact with weren't there when their champions died. girl like kaneli probably wasn't even born yet when revali got his ass kicked ☝️😒 so for the other races of hyrule, all they get are legends and stories of these really cool people who died a hundred years prior. i know you guys aren't crying ur asses off everyday about errrr.. president theodore roosevelt dying a hundred years ago! you didn't know him like that, get out of your parasocial relationship with him!!! so in that regard, i understand the way that nintendo chose to handle the relationship between the other champions and the descendents of their people.
but ur so incredibly true for that anon. the zelda team chose to break so many traditional conventions in botw, and the addition of a group of chosen champions to pilot these technological marvels of mechanisms to fight an evil so intense that the hero actually needs that assistance for even a sliver of success has so much potential. i wish we got to know the champions of 10,000 years ago and the champions of 100 years ago. if i really got to know and love them, i would probably understand what it would be like to lose them and feel it.

Heelo mousie! Love your blog! Do you mind recommending some of your favourite Chinese BL novels or shows?
I've seen the untamed and read it. I'm currently reading heaven's official blessing and I saw the donghua. Anything other than these two?
Awww, thank you!
Novels: I am gonna be lazy and literally copy/paste the entire danmei section of my top 10 web novels post (except MXTX’s stuff since you are already reading it.) Let me know if you need help finding any of these.
Lord Seventh - I am only partway through this so far, but it’s already on the list because it’s smart and somehow intense AND laid-back (not sure how this works, but it does) and is honestly just a really really solid and smart period novel, with the OTP a cherry on top of a narrative sundae. Plus, I love the concept of MC deciding he is not going for his supposedly fated love - he’s tried for six lifetimes, always with disaster, and he’s just plain done and tired. When he opens his life in his seventh reincarnation and sees the person he would have given up the world for, he genuinely feels nothing at all. (Spoiler - his OTP is actually a barbarian shaman this time around, thank you Lord!)
Golden Stage - my perfect comfort novel. Probably the least angsty of any danmei novel on this list (which still means plenty angsty :P) It also has a dedicated, smart OTP that is an OTP for the bulk of the book - I think you will notice that in most of the novels in this list, I go for “OTP against the world” trope - I can’t stand love triangles and the same. Anyway, Fu Shen, is a famous general whose fame is making the emperor   antsy. When he gets injured and can’t walk any more, the emperor gladly recalls him and marries him off to his most faithful court lackey, the head of sort of secret police, Yan Xiaohan. The emperor intends it both  as a check on the general and a general spite move since the two men   always clash in court whenever they meet. But not all is at is seems. They used to be  friends a long time ago, had a falling out, and one of the loveliest  parts of the novel is them finding their way to each other, but there is  also finding the middle path between their two very different  philosophies and ways of being, not to mention solving a conspiracy or  dozen, and putting a new dynasty on the throne, among other things. It always makes me think, a little, of “if Mei Changsu x Jingyan were canon.”
Sha Po Lang - if you like a lot of fantasy politics and world-building and steampunk with your novels, this one is for you. This one is VERY plot-heavy with smart, dedicated characters and a deconstruction of many traditional virtues - our protagonist Chang Geng, a long-lost son of the Emperor, is someone who wants to modernize the country but also take down the current emperor his brother for progress’ sake and the person he’s in love with is the general who saved him when he was a kid who is nominally his foster father. Anyway, the romance is mainly a garnish in this one, not even a big side dish, but the relationship between two smart, dedicated, deadly individuals with very different concepts of duty is fascinating long before it turns romantic. And if you like angst, while overall it’s not as angsty as e.g., Meatbun stuff, Chang Geng’s childhood is the stuff of nightmares and probably freaks me out more than anything else in any novel on this list, 2ha included.
To Rule In a Turbulent World (LSWW) - gay Minglan. No seriously. This is how I think of it. it’s a slice of life period novel with fascinating characters and  setting that happens to have a gay OTP, not a romance in a period  setting per se and I always prefer stories where the romance is not the only thing that is going on. It’s meticulously written and smart and deals with  character development and somehow makes daily minutia fascinating. Our   protagonist, You Miao, is the son of a fabulously wealthy merchant,   sent to the capital to make connections and study. As the story starts, he sees his friend’s  servants beating someone to death, feels bad, and buys him because, as  we discover gradually and organically, You Miao may be wealthy and  occasionally immature but he is a genuinely good person. The person he buys is a barbarian from beyond the wall, named   Li Zhifeng. It’s touch and go if the man will survive but eventually he does and You Miao, who by then has to return home, gives him his papers  and lets him go. However, LZF decides to stick with You Miao instead, both  out of sense of debt for YM saving his life and because he genuinely likes him (and yet, there is no instalove on either of their parts, their bodies have fun a lot quicker than their souls.) Anyway, the two  take up farming, get involved in  the imperial exams and it’s the life of prosperity and peace, until an invasion happens and things go rapidly to hell. This is so nuanced, so smart (smart people in this actually ARE!) and has secondary characters who are just as complex as the mains (for example, I ended up adoring YM’s friend, the one who starts the plot by almost beating LZF to death for no reason) because the novel never forgets that few people are all villain. There is a lovely character arc or two - watching YM grow up and LZF thaw - there is the fact that You Miao is a unicorn in web novels being laid back and calm. This whole thing is a masterpiece.
Stains of Filth (Yuwu) - want the emotional hit of 2ha but want to read something half its length? Well, the author of 2ha is here to eviscerate you in a shorter amount of time. This has the beautiful world-building, plot twists that all make sense and, at the center of it all, an intense and all-consuming and gloriously painful relationship between two generals - one aristocratic loner Mo Xi, and the other gregarious former slave general Gu Mang. Once they were best friends and lovers, but when the novel starts, Gu Mang has long turned traitor and went to serve the enemy kingdom and has now been returned and Mo Xi, who now commands the remnants of his slave army, has to cope with the fact that he has never been able to get over the man who stabbed him through the heart. Literally. This novel has a gorgeously looping structure, with flashbacks interwoven into present storyline. There is so much love and longing and sacrifice in this that I am tearing up a bit just thinking of it. If you don’t love Mo Xi and Gu Mang, separately and together, by the end of it, you have no soul.
The Dumb Husky and His White Cat Shizun (2ha/erha) - if you’ve been following my tumblr for more than a hot second, you know my obsession with this novel. Honestly, even if I were to make a list of my top 10 novels of any kind, not just webnovels, this would be on the list. It has everything I want - a complicated, intricate plot with an insane amount of plot twists, all of which are both unexpected and make total sense, a rich and large cast of characters, a truly epic OTP that makes me bawl, emotional intensity that sometimes maxes even me out and so much character nuance and growth. Also, Moran is my favorite web novel character ever, hands down.
Anyway, the plot (or at least the way it first appears) is that the evil emperor of the cultivation world, Taxian Jun, kills himself at 32 and wakes up in the body of his 16 year old self, birth name Moran. Excited to get a redo, Moran wants to save his supposed true love Shimei, whose death the last go-around pushed him towards evil. He also wants to avoid entanglement with Chu Wanning, his shizun and sworn enemy in past life. And that’s all you are best off knowing, trust me. The only hint I am going to give is oooh boy the mother of all unreliable narrators has arrived!
The novel starts light and funny on boil the frog principle - if someone told me I would be full bawling multiple times with this novel, I’d have thought they were insane, but i swear my eyes hurt by the end of it. I started out being amused and/or disliking the mains and by the end I would die for either of them.
The Wife is First - OK, this one did not make my top 10 web novels but it’s a sweet, fun gay cottagecore fest. Our ML, a royal prince, and his spouse, a smart if delicate aristocrat, keep house, eat noodles, play with their pet tiger, make out and spoil each other rotten, while occasionally fighting battles and outwitting their court enemies. It’s so very mellow. That couple redefines low drama - they are both nice and functional and use their brains. It’s as if a nice jock and a nice nerd got together and then proceeded to be wholesome all over the place.
I mean, the set up could be dramatic - our ML the prince, lost his fight for the throne and is about to be killed. The only person who stayed loyal to him is his arranged husband the aristocrat guy who ML never treated nicely since he resented marrying him (marrying a man in that world is done to remove someone from the ability to inherit the throne.) And yet the husband stood by him not out of love but beliefs in loyalty blah blah. Anyway, he transmigrates back into the past right after their wedding night and is all “I got a second chance OMG! I don’t want the throne what is even the point? I want to live a good long life and treat the only person who stood by me really well!” And he proceeds to do so to the shock of the aristocrat who had a very unpleasant wedding night and generally can tell the man he just married would rather eat nails than be married to him. But soon enough (no seriously, it’s not many chapters at all) he believes the prince is sincere blah blah and then  they get together and they pretty much become cottagecore goals.
In terms of dramas, I only do period dramas (or novels) so I am not the person to be able to recommend any modern BLs. There is a flood of upcoming (hopefully) period BL dramas but it’s relatively thin on the ground now. The two I will recommend is Word of Honor (which is AMAZING) and Winter Begonia (which I just started watching but which owns me already.) I have a tag for both - the one for the former is huge and I cannot recommend either strongly enough. I’ve heard good things about The Sleuth of the Ming Dynasty, but I am not big on mysteries so haven’t watched it for myself.
In terms of the upcoming BLs, the ones I am most looking forward to are Immortality and Winner Is King, but The Society of the Four Leaves also looks promising.

Casturbatus Interruptus by gaugbrojotr E | 6k | Canon!verse, Hot, , PWP
post-9.01, in a slight AU wherein Cas comes to live with the Winchesters at the Bunker. Written before 9.03. Crossposting from Tumblr. Written for a prompt from hightopsandsharpies: "Okay, so Cas is a virgin, and has no idea what pleasure is and Dean decides to show him and Cas gets all cuddly and needy afterwards. Dean walks in on Cas masturbating. He’s doing it all wrong, but when you’re a bazillion-year-old virgin, that’s to be expected. Dean decides to lend him a hand in a totally platonic, non-romantic way. Things get a little out of control.
 that awkward moment when... by highermagic E | 7k | Hot, wing!Kink
All in all, with a full tank of gas and his radio turned up loud, Dean was in a pretty damn good mood. All that vanished into shock and concern when the sky lit up like daylight, as though someone had decided that black was so passé for nighttime.
 This Temporary Flesh and Bone by misachan E | 5k | Canon!verse, h/c, wing!kink
Castiel doesn't serve Dean, fine, Dean has no problem with that - he just wants to know why Castiel's showing up in his dreams again.
What a fabulous little Fic. Very emotional. S4 cas is my FAVORITE.
 Only Fools Rush In by baka_sensei E | 18k | Canon!verse, soulbond
Dean does something and in angelic tradition that means he's become Castiel's fiancé. Dean doesn't know if he wants to get married, but he doesn't want to let Castiel down either. Cas lets his feelings run away with him, Gabe is a total dick, Sam is concerned, and Dean has to make a choice.
 Learning Curve by blualbino T | 1k | Fluff, Canon!verse
Cas has nice lips. They’re soft looking. Plush even. Dean can do this.
 Dinner At Katz's by nanoochka E | 2k | Hot, canon!verse
Dean might have to teach Cas how to have a When Harry Met Sally-esque orgasm, but he certainly doesn’t have to fake it.
 Free With His Hands by watermaline E | 2k | canon!verse, handprint!kink
The first time it happens, Dean chalks it up to…well, he doesn’t chalk it up to anything, he’s too busy coming his brains out in his jeans with Castiel’s hand on his shoulder.
 Desecrate that Sanctuary by brokentoy E | 3k | Hot, Alt!Canon Verse
Dean develops a fascination with Cas' bones.
What Once Was Sacred by saltandbyrne E | 55k |  Hot,  AU, Cop Dean, DJ Cas
Los Angeles detective Dean Winchester works tirelessly to atone for the sins of his father one case at a time. When his best friend Charlie drags him to visit Sam at his new job, Dean stumbles onto a bizarre string of deaths that brings him uncomfortably close to his past.Dean can't stop thinking about Castiel, an enigmatic DJ who plays the sexiest music Dean's ever heard. A chance encounter at Castiel's house reveals that Castiel is an incubus, and Dean must face the lies and the reality of his childhood as a hunter. Dean comes to see that he and Castiel have more in common than he thought, and that guilt can be the hardest thing to cast aside.
Freefall by LastKnownWriter E | 128k | Hot, Fluff,  AU, Teacher Dean, Firefighter Cas
AU. The most exciting kindergarten teacher Dean Winchester's life ever gets is when he plays mechanic in his uncle Bobby's shop on the weekends. That is until a birthday party goes tequila-nova and he trips into a one-night stand with an incredibly hot firefighter named Castiel. Dean's life gets a lot more exciting after that.
The Best Years of Our Lives, My Ass ❤ by ireallyhatecornnuts E | 110k | Hot,  Fluff,  HS AU but not really,
AU after Season 8, episode 6, "Southern Comfort." Dean goes to sleep in a motel room in Texarkana, and he wakes up 17 years old, in his childhood bedroom in Lawrence, Kansas, 1996. He has no idea how he got there, why his parents are still alive, why his brother is an adorable freshman with no memory of his adult life, and why the only ally he has in this place is the angel he left behind in Purgatory – somehow also 17 years old. They have to get out, that's the important thing. Only, falling in love with his angel wasn't a part of the plan....
It's like a HS AU... but better! I love how Dean is given a second chance at growing up, and Cas gets to engage with his humanity is painfully familiar ways. Some homophobia from non-central characters.
deus ex nihilo by Valyria E | 7k | AU, dubcon, god cas
Lost on an uncharted island, Dean Winchester is captured by the local villagers and offered up as a sacrifice to their winged god. Castiel takes one look at Dean and decides he wants him for a mate.
Twist and Shout ❤ by gabriel E | 97k | Angst,  AU, Main Character Death
What begins as a transforming love between Dean Winchester and Castiel Novak in the summer of 1965 quickly derails into something far more tumultuous when Dean is drafted in the Vietnam War. Though the two both voice their relationship is one where saying goodbye is never a real truth, their story becomes fraught with the tragedy of circumstance. In an era where homosexuality was especially vulnerable, Twist and Shout is the story of the love transcending time, returning over and over in its many forms, as faithful as the sea.
Do I really need to say anything? Twist and Shout is one of my favorites simply because it made me bawl. Didn't love the characterization, but I still liked it overall.
Carry On ❤ by TamrynEradani E | 148k | Hot,  AU, Sub!dean, Dom!Cas
When Sam gets into Stanford, Dean needs a bigger paycheck than Bobby's garage can give him. Luckily, he knows a guy.
Forget 50 Shades of Grey, they should make this fic into a movie! Even if you are not a fan of Sub!Dean, give this fic a shot, because it is nearly perfect.
Glasses by Samanthapin E | 9k | Fluff, High School AU, punk!cas, nerd!dean
Teasing turns flirting turns dating turns grossly soppy boyfriends
 beer and bacon happy hour by outpastthemoat G | 2k | canon!verse, s8
The problem is that Dean’s been having good ideas all night. “No one insults the trenchcoat,” Dean says, and drives his fist into the other dude’s face. Dean figures he was bound to run out of good ideas eventually.
 Hard Road ❤ by aleishapotter E | 54k | Canon!verse
Dean discovers a few truths about himself when he and Cas are forced to go undercover on a hunt to the very last place Dean ever thought he'd find himself: a gay resort called "Last Hope" that is geared towards helping troubled homosexual couples repair their relationships. This fic is hilarious and hot--my favorite things.
Dean Smith Verse by TamrynEradani E | 17k | Hot,  BDSM, AU, Sub!Dean
Dean Smith is a man of routine. Castiel takes him apart.
Bratishka: Little Brother by Valyria E | 33k | Cop AU, Cop Dean, Lawyer Cas
Dean thinks he knows pretty much everything there is to know about his best friend Castiel Novak - he's a smart, gorgeous DA who probably lets Dean get away with more than he should to see the bad guy locked up - but it turns out Cas is hiding some dark family secrets.
 the way to a man's heart by mkhunterz M | 15k | Fluff,  Canon!verse
Dean teaches Cas to cook, and other things as well.
 Branded by garrisonbabe E | 12k | | canon!verse, soul bond, marking/claiming
Michael mocked Castiel, telling him he'd never get Dean the way he truly wanted. No matter the mark on Dean's soul, he'd never get him the way the archangel could take him. Dean finds a ritual that fixes that and a few other issues.
Our Bodies, Posessed by Light by obstinatrix E | 39k | canon!verse, sastiel bromance, Fluff
Purged of all his souls, Castiel is a changed being, stronger than an angel and too powerful for Jimmy's body to contain. Happily, there's an archangel's vessel on hand, and he could use fixing, too. Dean isn't too happy about the idea of his brother acting as a vessel for Castiel, and Sam can guess why, but it isn't until Castiel gets inside his head and they learn to share the vessel -- and their thoughts -- that Sam realises Cas is as in love with Dean as Dean is with him. It's unfortunate that there's nothing much to be done about it now, but Castiel will get another vessel soon. The Winchesters will make damn sure of that. In the meantime, it's up to the three of them to establish their own strange accord, and Dean realises more fully than ever that it's Castiel, and not his vessel, that he loves.
So Glad We Made It  ❤by scaramouche M | 16k | Fluff,  AU
At twelve years old, Dean makes a friend, who becomes his best friend, who will eventually become the love of his life.
Oh, the best friends who grow up together AU. I have a soft spot for fics like these-- comes with pining, awkward misunderstandings, and a good basis for a realistic relationship.
Shut Up (Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is) ❤ by kototyph E | 23k | Fluff,  college au
Dean's done some pretty stupid things, but getting drunk-hitched in Vegas to a colleague he barely knows might just take the cake. His surprise husband, Castiel, is a little weird but likable despite that, and Dean figures they’ll go back to Boston, get a quiet annulment, and go their separate ways. Six weeks later, he’s still married to one of the strangest, most genuine and definitely most dangerously lov-- likable guys he's ever known. Dean doesn't know why or really even how it’s happening, but it’s getting harder and harder to remember that he has divorce papers to file.
FLUFF EVERYWHERE! This is definitely a feel-good fic and I love reading it when I'm sad. Or just you know, whenever.
But the Fire is So Delightful by kototyph E | 5k | Hot, hate then love, College AU
Apparently, it’s been snowing all day. [Dean is a Douchebag Fratboy with a Cherry Ass, Castiel is Angry and Aroused]
 Stitches by askance T | 23k |  Fluff, h/c, blindness, Canon!verse
Castiel survived Leviathan--but only barely. Vessel mauled and eyes destroyed, Cas is barely clinging to what's left of his grace when Dean finds him naked and alone on the reservoir's edge; in a panic, Dean brings him home to the cabin where he and Sam have been holed up off the grid. What follows is the slow process of the angel's recovery and the unexpected changes that come with his being blind, and in the three months this takes, their little family slowly begins to patch itself back together in forgiveness, love, and darkness.
 When Charlie Met Cas by riseofthefallenone E | 25k | Fluff,  canon!verse
Charlie is back in all her glory. The Winchesters have showed up on her doorstep and she’s making the best of it the only way she knows how. By being the little sister Dean never wanted and shipping the shit out of Destiel.
The Life After the Morning After by saltyfeathers T | 17k
Dean and Cas get uber drunk on their last day of University. They end up married. Neither of them seem to mind.
The Girlfriend Experience ❤ by Rageprufrock E | 15k | Hot,  Canon!Verse, First time
While it's not like Dean hasn't had a couple of truly regrettable hit-and-runs in his sexual history, this is probably the saddest fucking thing that has ever happened to him.
Classic Casturbation fic. Complete with steamy sexytimes, hilarious dialogue, and fed up and clueless Dean. Perfect.
Hands, From Which All Things Are Built by MajorEnglishEsquire T | 14k | Canon!Verse, s8
Castiel travels with the angel tablet and without the Winchesters. One day, Dean gets a text from some anonymous number. (They speak in the language of need.)
Cowboys and Real Estate Angels by almaasi E | 36k | AU
Castiel crosses paths with the ever-charming Dean Winchester at a rodeo show in Texas, of all places. Dean's singing days are long bygone, but his crowd-pleasing skills haven't waned one iota. Unexpectedly, Castiel finds himself in Dean's bedroom; they take and they give, and discover that sometimes strangers can find love like this, too. (And if a man's faith can't be put in God, it needs to go somewhere...)

To Forsake All Love (Part 5)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Sigurd X Reader Word Count: 3500 Warnings: (Explicit 18+) gotta consummate that marriage somehow
-Part 1- -Part 2- -Part 3- -Part 4- -Part 5-
The silence was a torment in the small room. It made your voice sound all the more shaky, your heart beat all the harder in your ears. You spoke the rights and vows, listened as Father Weland spoke his, but you could barely see him behind the panic in your eyes.
Weland was a man who looked positively innocent. Joyful at all times, drinking and singing in his small holy church, yet the wrinkled pudgy man had a harsh reputation on him. In some cases he was only a deviant drinking in far more sins than blessings. Everyone knew Weland gambled and drank into stupors and may or may not seduce women on occasion. The other rumors were the stuff of nightmares, often made from vexed husbands and shocked proteges. The Father took children in the night, peeling off his skin to reveal a demon underneath before eating them. It’s why his belly was so big. Edmure and your father hated him, yet he always made your mother and sisters laugh. A pristine record would have been better, but Weland was all you had on such short notice and also seemed excited to witness a Viking wedding.
As the rights ended, with a grunt he stood, smiling and blushing proudly, a hint of wine already on him. “Thank you your Majesty, I can not tell you the joy that is overflowing in me! Never as a lad had I imagined I’d be standing here in front of a Queen, named a Bishop of Northumbria!” He sighed, a little glitter in his eyes, “Oh the irony! It’s a beautiful thing! Pastor Cenberet can suck my fat blistered toe after today!”
A small snort escaped you, not expecting such a jest in a dire time. You tried to cover your mouth in embarrassment but he waved your modesty, “You can laugh, it was meant to be funny!”
The hand timidly came down, silence nearly filling the room before Weland chimed, “Guess we best be going! It’s gotten awfully quiet in the castle, must mean all the guests have already filled the forest!” He went to walk away, but you were stuck in your place. Noticing, he stopped at the door half open, closing it again. “Perhaps you would like some guidance before we venture out in the deep?”
Shifting a bit, feeling your blood heat in embarrassment, you fiddled with your fingers before asking, “Is it true you...take time alone with… women?
Weland looked away, a hint of charmful bashfulness before turning back with a quirk of a smile, “Only when they’re smiling.”
“Father-” You pushed on your heated cheeks trying to cool them. “It’s a question I would have prefered to ask my sister but… is there any advice you can give me? For tonight?”
Pity came to Weland, walking back and putting his hands on your shoulders, giving you a comforting grin, “I know, much to your dismay, this is a political marriage-”
“I’m fine with-”
“But should you find yourself enjoying a moment of the most sinful of lust,” He exaggerated with theatrically cross of his chest, “God preserve you from such an atrocity!” The mock probably should have been offencive but it only made you smile. “Take it. Enjoy it. The future is unknown and a little bit of happiness can take us to far far away places. It can change our entire path in life. I know not what this marriage will bring, the first of its kind, a Christian to a Northman, but should you be happy in it, then what business does shame have to take its place?”
It was hard to talk, but you did smile at your feet.
Following him out, Godwine was waiting just outside, “I told the boy to go ahead. Might as well keep some traditions alive.” Gratefully, you took his arm. It was rare for you to see him out of his armor, though it must have been rare for him to see you in a plain silk white dress with a crown of jeweled and glass flowers. You both stiffly smiled at one another, Godwine clearly as nervous as you were, and something about that was calming.
The castle seemed unusually quiet and still, the walk into the woods wracking your nerves. Into the forest, along the made path, chatter and cheers echoed between the trees, you wondering if Sigurds whole army was filtered in the forest. Arriving at the clearing, you found it was not only so, but the people of your castle had filled one side, your side, while Sigurds people all stood on his. You gave a worrying glance to Godwine, a sudden dread for Sigurds refusal to take your warning as Godwine whispered, “He thought it would be like a gift, surround you in your people to show it all wasn’t that big of a deal to have a Viking wedding.”
“Did you-”
“He was insistent.”
Already your people were stone faced while they watched you walk up, some disgusted as they spotted Weland proudly smiling behind you. The newly made Bishop was unfazed by the tense air and you wished you could be so thick skinned. Sigurd only smiled to you as you came to his front and Godwine slipped from you. He took your shaking hands and rubbed them, seeming like he could convince you this wasn’t going to turn into a disaster. All you could do was force a smile and prey the ceremony could be a pleasant one.
Gulping down your fear, holding in the frustrated sting in your eyes, the woman between the opposing sides grinned at you kindly. However you couldn’t help but notice behind her, the mossy stump. The mossy stump that has always been in the untouched clearing.
Leaning back a little, you whispered to Godwine, “Isn’t that the-”
“Now’s not the time to worry about the Good Folk Princess.”
How did Sigurd manage this? To do things so wrong he even invited the Fae to partake in this wedding. You looked to the sky and prayed harder.
The priestess began to speak, and for all his failings Sigurd at least translated in a whisper for you. It did seem to ease the tense air behind your back, the vows sounding like poetry where your’s would have been the treaty that it was. His brother Ubbe than handed him a blade, presenting it to you to pass down to your children. You however didn’t know what to do with it, awkwardly turning back to hand it to Godwine. Who shocked you in pulling his own blade and handed it to you, to which you awkwardly offered it to Sigurd.
The moment the bawl of a goat reached you, your skin crawled. Tightening your hands in Sigurds, the woman pull a blade and walk to it. You leaned close to him whispering harshly, “You can’t make a sacrifice.”
“It’s our wedding, it needs to be blessed-”
“Let my priest bless us and the people. My people won’t take the sight of a sacrifice well.”
“You will insult mine if we do not make one.”
You stiffened so hard you thought you might break, holding your breath as the blade was aimed at the animal's throat. As the first drop of blood came you glanced to your people, all grimacing and you shamefully looked back down at the ground.
Collecting a bowl of blood, the woman dropped two rings in and spin them with her finger as she spoke. Walking over, she continued to announce with a smile, the Northmen cheering out a name. Pulling a golden circlet out, she slipped it on Sigurds finger, the blood staining up his knuckles. She offered the other to you, but you were frozen, staring at the gold ring. You noticed it was the promise ring you had given Sigurd, the black jet stone pearl looking like it was crying out the red.
Sigurd gave you a small tug to try and shake you, and it only barely worked, making you nauseated to realize you were meant to put it on. Swallowing the lump in your throat, you gave a hand and let her slip it on, the ichor having gone a bit cold and sticky, catching on your finger. You looked at it, wanting to at least dip your hand in water to rid the blessed blood.
Though that discomfort was magnified when your attention was called for again, and as soon as you looked up a small splatter of blood was flicked in your face by a small branch. The small cry you gave and startled jump made his people chuckle, but you were so terrified of the disapproval in yours you felt you might faint.
At last the priestess went to something you recognized, entwining your and Sigurds hands together with a plain white ribbon. The final rights were spoken, letting you catch your breath, no matter how queasy it had become, and surprising you when it ended and your chin was pulled into a soothing kiss.
Pulling back, the crowd of heathens cheered loud enough to echo through the forest, your people clapping and probably giving the same sigh of relief you had that it was finally over.
Intermingling didn’t happen as Sigurd probably hoped for. As him and his brothers and his people played games and feasted, yours quickly filtered out back to the castle, only very few staying in curiosity. Though you noticed it was quite a few girls and widows that stayed. You watched it all but nursed a large cup of mead they sat in front of you, refilling it at a moments notice. Somewhere in between then your face had been cleaned of the blood, a hammer was placed in your lap, the goat that had been sacrificed had been cooked and eaten, and Sigurd appeared beside you with a laugh.
“How many times has that been filled?” You looked at it wide eyes realizing you had no idea, you didn’t even know how long you’d been sitting there twiddling the hammer snugly in the crease of your legs.
Sigurd stumbled a little himself as he stood up, cheerfully holding out a hand to you, “Than I think it’s about time we get to bed!” He said it loud enough for everyone at the table to hear and cheer, you at a loss as you were too busy stumbling when you stood. The spinning in your head made you laugh, the closeness with Sigurd holding you up even as he stumbled made you happy and warm.
You felt his hand run along you cheek, you both getting caught in one another’s eyes, smiling and giggling while no one had said anything. In a sweep Sigurd bent down and picked you up, getting a shocked cry from you that melted into a laughter, “Are you sure you’re sober enough for this?”
He proudly called, walking you away from the feast table, “We are going to find out!”
“Oh Heavens no!” You clung to him tighter.
But Sigurd didn’t so much as trip to the set up tent, swayed maybe, pretended to drop you maybe, but he held you tight past the threshold of the enclosed room. It was dark, the skin of the tent lit up a warm glowing orange from the fires.
The bed came up underneath you, the furs tickling your skin and relieving the weight of your body as Sigurd slammed down beside you with a laugh. Both of you caught your breath and stared into one another. Pushing himself a little closer, Sigurd lifted a hand to brush down your face, “You really are the most beautiful woman.”
You giggled bashfully, pulling down his hand. “Stop saying that.”
His fingers curled around your neck, cradling you and shaking his head, “You stop telling me to stop saying that.” Giggles filled the tent before he pulled you into a lazy kiss. The memory of the kiss of his first night at the castle taunted you, your mouth slacking and causing a wetness on his, asking for what you didn’t know how to ask. With a smile on his face, he wasn’t going to let you fall into submission, denying you what he knew you wanted.
Gulping down the insecurity, you reached out for the smallest taste, licking his honey lips and finding you didn’t want to stop. In a surge of heat you pulled him to you, moaning as you felt his tongue lave against yours. It stirred your legs, pressing your hips into him as your body tensed for the closeness. A shudder ran through you feeling his strong hand run along your body and down your thigh. Breaking the wet kiss and licking your lips, you tried to breathe slowly as you felt your dress slowly being hiked up, your sigh shaking as his bare fingers hungrily found your skin and started to pet circles.
You played anxiously in his long hair, unbraided for the event and tickling your fingers and cheek as he pressed his forehead to yours, breathing heavily down your neck. Looking up, he found your eyes as well, a soft grin taking him. “Are you alright?”
The sentiment made you chuckle, feeling ridiculous with yourself. Quickly you nodded. “Yes, just nervous.”
“I promise, there’s no reason to be.” He brushed your cheek again. “And we are married now, that makes it okay, yes?”
“Yes,” You smiled breathlessly, “It… will just take some getting used to.”
“That is fine, we take all the time we need, alright?” The idea did ease you a little, smiling and agreeing, pulling him to your kiss.
Finding your trembling legs again, they rounded to behind, diving between and causing an achy pulsing, only satiated as he pulled your thigh over his and dug your hips into his lap. A hard length pressed into you and made you whimper at the prospect. It was so easy to get lost in the madness of it all, craving more and more of him, running your hands up under his shirt to feel his taunt stomach rolling against you, his heartbeat slamming under your fingertips.
The dress was getting horribly itchy, annoying in the way it would heat up and wrap up in your arms and legs. In a breath, you sat up and started tugging on the strings behind your neck. As you fiddled with tugging it over your head, you felt warm hands following it up, running along your naked form in admiration as it was revealed. Tossing it off you found Sigurd staring up in awe, sighing, “Oh you are so beautiful.”
You chuckled, this time not telling him to stop and instead bending and taking his lips. He embraced you in a fit of passion, making you squeak as he threw you down on the bed, shifting himself between your legs and rutting his cock against your core. The sensation made you want more, raising your hips in an attempt to suffocate the need.
But he lifted, making you whimper with the sudden cold. Tugging at his shirt, you drank in every inch of bare skin looking so soft. He held such a soft demeanor, enough to make you forget he was a warrior and did train and fight. The muscle was lean but it was defined with every breath he took, his hair long down his shoulders and looking flamed in the dim light. Your hands itched to touch him. Sigurd stilled to watch your eyes rake his body before his hands dived to his waist, pushing down his pants. But he didn’t let you catch a solid glimpse of his manhood, gliding down over you with a teasing, “I don’t want to scare you too badly.”
You rolled your eyes with a chuckle at the arrogant claim, despite there probably being some truth to it with the way the length tapped on your slit, gliding up and down on the wet that had pooled there. It was hot and solid, pressing between you and Sigurd as he rolled his body over yours, sighing heavily like a sense of relief. Your hands happily ran along his body in exploration, before pushing up his hair that had curtained around your face.
He gave a lick to his lips, taking yours in one last kiss before his hand dived between you two. You tightened at the press of his dull tip at your entrance, the lips throbbing wildly in anticipation while your skin cooled in hesitance. Sigurd watched you closely, your legs trembling as he pushed on, stretching and filling, pausing when the sensations grew too much, burned you in protest. Despite how slow he moved, you were panting, gripping onto him for comfort when he started rocking into you, the sensation of being filled constant, so different and so much more intoxicating than just the presses on the outside. Your hips began to shift on their own, begging to meet his rhythm, your breath hard to keep inside. You mewled, embarrassedly covering your mouth before needing to cry out, the waves of pleasure blinding any and all sensibility.
It all felt like too much, like you should be crawling away and yet it was from pleasure you were so desperate to escape. Sigurd muttered in his own language before moaning and wrapping his arms tightly around you, holding you still as he pushed and began savoring his own pace.
Your legs hugged him, your hands fisted in his hair to face you so you could drown your cries in his kisses. Something brewed inside, a dam eager to break as more and more filled it, and it was almost terrifying to keep tempting that. But he had no issue with that fear, snapping hard before grabbing your hip and burying himself completely, watching you curl back and feeling your nails dig into his neck.
His hand disappeared between you again but this time he spun circles over your clit, making your whole body light up and keen into him, losing his rhythm and grabbing at him for a release you couldn’t stop. He cooed above you, “That’s it, that’s it,” as your body stuttered, your cries lost in your ears while a pleasure blinded and crashed throughout every nerve. He gave no pause to your ecstasy, thrusting fast and prolonging the tingling high before going stiff, moaning in the crook of your neck.
You two stayed embraced, unmoving, for a long moment. Until you gave a defeated sigh, only the smallest haziness making you tired. Giving a few kisses to your shoulder and across your chest, he pushed himself off, brushing his hair from his face before grabbing back onto you, pulling you close and tossing the blanket on you both. Sigurd’s hands still roamed you, still petted you to sleep, peppered kisses on your tired face and body. You weren’t sure when you fell asleep, not even sure when he stopped, but you had never felt more safe and more completed.
In the morning, you were up far before he was, eyes open and staring at the long cloth slabs on the exit shifting in the subtle wind. You needed to move, to get the chaos in your head out. Quietly you slipped out from under the furs and blankets, grabbing your discarded wedding dress but not bothering to tie it, the corners slumping off your shoulders. Walking around, you found the tent had in fact been finely decorated as if you two had always been living in it, even a dresser covered in combs and hair decorations. You picked at them, looking at the beautiful craftsmanship of a particular brush.
Your ears perked when you heard him shifting behind. “Sigurd. I should tell you… I am not wanted here.”
He was groggy, rubbing away at his face when he asked, “What do you mean?”
“Before you came here, before the proposal even, I have been called a Usurper. Many look at me and say I am devious and power hungry.”
Hesitant and quiet, he asked, “Why are you telling me this?”
“Because we have started something here today, and you should know I have begun to feel it is destined to end in blood. As much as I had wanted to fight that.”
You heard him slip from the bed, feeling so cold until his arms wrapped around your waist. Keening your head against his, Sigurd whispered.  “I think your fear is making you too cautious. Your people will come around. They must know they have no choice.”
“That’s the thing. There is always a choice. I thought it better not to run but not to fight either. They don’t want to run… but I can feel it in their glares, they want to fight.”
His arms held you tighter, a nervousness taking him with his disbelief. “They would not win… they have to know that.”
“I don’t think they care.” You shook your head. “And I doomed us by underestimating that.”

Another Wonderful Submission
Born From Dark Water
Based on the film ‘Song of the Sea’ and this ask: http://overstalking.tumblr.com/post/159215981404/genji-hanzo-and-zenyatta-with-a-selkie-so-how
The practice of self imposed solitude was a form of punishing himself just as much as it was for survival. Living the life of an exile and an assassin, he told himself that it was best not to allow any form of weakness like family or loved ones in his life that could only be exploited by his enemies later on. Anything that once resembled a chance of that, he either cut down or cast aside. Besides, a murderer like Hanzo Shimada had no right to hope for such things.
Once he and his brother Genji had reconciled along with fulfilling their duties at Overwatch, Hanzo fell into old habits despite his insistence to his brother that he had forgiven himself and moved on. That didn’t stop Genji from offering a place to stay in either Switzerland or Nepal should he need it; but being the proud man that he is, and not wanting to make his brother worry, Hanzo reassured him that he was fine and declined his offer every time.
During his travels, Hanzo found himself in a small safehouse on the edge of a small, craggy shore off the coast of Ireland. It was a small, drafty, stone cabin located where strong winds and thunderstorms occurred almost every other day, and isolated from the outside world… it was perfect. There, he found the time to live a quiet reclusive life with no burdens or responsibilities weighing him down and often spent his time meditating. Finding food was easy enough- given his skill with a bow and resourceful nature he sustained himself primarily on the abundant salmon from the nearby river, rabbit and deer in the forest, and a small garden for herbs and vegetables he grew just on the edge of the forest behind the house. The few times he would venture into the nearest town, which was miles away, it was to shop for supplies he otherwise couldn’t gather or create on his own. He only really socialized with the older locals who ran the shops, and that was limited to mainly small talk where he started to pick up Irish Gaelic.
Genji would send packages of small comforts from home on his birthday and around the winter holidays- large boxes of tea, a few bottles of saké, some other small treats and a handwritten letter along with a sparrow feather attached to a photo of him and either Zenyatta or Angela. It warmed Hanzo’s heart to know that his brother was doing well and thinking of him.
The rural countryside was rife with myths and tales of fae folk and other creatures from old times. At first, Hanzo chalked it up to superstitions and stories derived from old tradition much like that of gods and yōkai from his own homeland. He remembered a story his father told him once about the Namahage that would visit their castle and punish lazy or naughty children on New Year’s Eve so that he and his brother would behave. Once they grew older and realized that Namahage were just grown men dressed up in costumes, however, the tale lost its’ effect on them.
Still, he stuck around for the tales that the old shopkeepers would share after they would close their shops and go to the pub before heading home.
“You live in that little shack near the sea, is that right?”
“I do, yes.”
“Ah… so, lookin’ for a selkie bride, is it?”
“Pardon?”
“Don’t tell me ya haven’t heard the tale of the selkie?!”
“I have not.”
“Oh, fer the love of- Moira! Flaherty! Our Japanese friend here doesn’t know what a selkie is!”
“So? Leave him be, James. An’ don’t go fillin’ his head with some old stories!”
“Bah!” scoffed James, as he brushed his hand at them dismissively. The old man moved closer to Hanzo’s side of the table and leaned in, almost like a schoolchild about to tell a dark secret and whispered to him.
“Alright, here’s what you do, friend- you to the sea an’ shed seven tears into the water. Seven, no more no less. Once you do that, it’ll summon a selkie an’ then, you’ll have to steal her coat.”
“Why?”
“Because, once a selkie has lost their coat, she’ll have to agree to be your bride.”
James put his arm around Hanzo’s shoulder.
“Handsome young lad like you… doesn’t make much sense you don’t have at least someone in your life. Jus’ try it, son. An’ hey, if nothin’ happens, well then I’m just an old fool havin’ the craic!”
“Dad? C’mon it’s time to go.”, James’ daughter, Aoife approached the two at the table to bring her father home. She was a beautiful woman in her mid 30′s, and medium length red hair… She was also happily married with three children. She ran the flower shop and took care of her father after his wife died, and would always greet Hanzo with a courteous smile.
When the two leave out of earshot, Hanzo overhears Moira at the bar sigh while cleaning the bar.
“Poor old James… don’t go weeping in the ocean for a fairy tale, Hanzo; he just likes tellin’ stories. Gives him a reason to get out of the house since his wife’s died, you see. He’s pushin’ 95 this year now, an’ his mind’s goin’ downhill. So don’t mind it.”
It’s true that James was among the oldest residents in town and in declining health, so Hanzo brushed it aside as nothing more than a lonely old man telling a story. Then again, maybe it wasn’t all crazy- Hanzo and his brother both had power over ancient spirit dragons for god’s sake! Maybe this island had some forgotten magic of it’s own, after all.
The next couple days, Hanzo went on with his life and thought nothing about his old friends’ story. Then, he started to notice just how many seals would congregate on the rocks near his house; but he reasoned that it was most likely because of the abundant amount of fish and sunlight in that spot that was ideal for relaxing.
Then he thought more about what James had said- how ‘a handsome young lad like him’ truly has no one to share his life with. Hanzo never paid it any mind until someone brought it up. Genji was always more charming and likeable than him in their youth, so he just accepted that. He expected that he’d have to go along with an arranged marriage like his father, have some children, and live his life as the head of the clan. But life has a way of making other plans, since he had to cut his brother down after their father died, his entire world had fallen apart, and he had to find a way to start life all over again.
One day, after meditating on the beach, he stood up and walked closer to the ocean. The waves had started to lap at his feet and he stopped when he was about knee deep in the water. He thought about everything all at once- his brother, the clan, his parents, the life he left behind. For years he was hellbent on a constant search for redemption. And through it all, what did he have to show for it? For his sacrifice, his time in Overwatch? What will his legacy be?… Will anyone remember him when he’s gone? Would anyone accept and love him after all he’s done? Does he even deserve that?
The tears he didn’t even know he had been holding inside had started to fall.
One,
A sob
Two,
Three
He starts to weep
Four,
Five,
Then, finally… bawling
Six,
Seven
He falls to his knees and cries into his arm, hiding his shame from the rest of the world.
Once he calmed down, he made his way back to the cabin to go change out of his soaked clothes. He looked around and noticed that the seagulls and waves had gone quiet and that’s when saw something moving off to the side on the rocks nearby.
He saw a figure draped in what looked like a long, dark, iridescent, fur coat. He watched her as she shed and laid on top of it while she lounged on the rocks, with a content smile on her face and her naked body basking in the sunlight. She was the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen.
An all powerful sense of longing crashed into him like a tidal wave; he never wanted to get close to someone so much in his life. He doesn’t know what possessed him to walk over to her right then and there, throwing any sense of caution or apprehension to the wind. Once his footsteps hit the sand, she shot up and immediately turned to face him, clutching at the coat covering her body. He froze, and for the longest time they said nothing; just stared at each other, waiting for a response and wondering what the other’s one’s next move might be.
He was close enough now to get a good look at her- her hair was long, her skin was a cool tone, and her eyes were dark, clear, and blue like the ocean. He reached a hand out and slowly approached her. She lowered herself from her rock and started to walk towards him. He stepped back, almost afraid of her at first, then froze again. When she got close enough, she gently placed a hand on his cheek and traced her fingers along his jawline. He noticed that her skin felt cool to the touch and shivered when he felt her fingers travel down the sinews of his neck and along his collarbone. Through the fabric of his shirt, he could feel the gentle press of her palm over his heartbeat.
The lives of humans had piqued a deep curiosity in her. Each day they would meet at the same spot, and over time, they had begun to learn more about one another. He taught her how to use a bow, while she taught him how to swim and catch salmon with his hands. He told her all about his home and life on the surface. He even cast aside his fear of embarrassment and showed her the fisherman’s dance from his homeland, which amused her greatly.
The first time Hanzo invited her to his home, she tried saké for the first time. Much to her naivety, she drank too much too fast, and Hanzo soon followed. Before long, inhibitions were thrown aside, their faces glowed, and their bellies were full of laughter and warmth from the alcohol. They were sitting on the sofa by the fire when she climbed on top of him and softly brushed her lips against his, then wrapped her arms over his shoulders to hold him close. The kiss deepened and he held their bodies flush together, his hands taking in every curve, almost worried she might slip away if he let go.
“Stay with me… please.” he whispered into the crook of her neck
Her voice was filled with sorrow,
“I- I can’t.”
His kisses trailed down her collarbone to her sternum,
“You will never want for anything… I can take care of you.”
He paused to look up at her reverently, waiting for a reply,
“Please…”
She had a sad look in her eyes, and then perked up when she thought of an idea.
“A year. I will stay with you for a year. If I’m unhappy, by the time a year has passed, I go back to the sea.”
Hanzo shed tears of joy and wrapped his arms around her waist, and pulled her into another deep kiss,
“I guess I will have to make you happy, then…”
The legend says that selkies make great wives, but their hearts will always have a powerful longing for the sea. So in order to keep his new wife happy, he purchased the property along with the cottage on the shore where they had found each other. In the morning, he could find her wading in the shallow water looking up at the sky before dawn. This was her time, so he gave her space and stood in the doorway while they both watched the sun come up. During restless nights, she would lay his head down on her lap and sing songs to him while brushing her fingers through his hair as he drifted off to sleep. He fell more in love with her with every passing day.
He bought clothes for her- thick wool sweaters and coats to keep her warm, and light breathable yukatas for warmer days to wear around the house. She loved the intricate patterns of flowers and clouds that were dyed onto the fabric in vibrant colors of all shades; but her most favorite was a dark kimono he gifted her with water lilies that shone bright shades of blue, green, and purple in the black silk when pointed at the sunlight.
The first night they made love was filled with as much nervous but impassioned hesitation as one might expect. Hanzo trailed his warm hands to calm the gooseflesh creeping up on her shoulders and left soft kisses in his wake. She arched her back when his mouth found her breasts and he suckled and rolled his tongue against the small hardened peak and repeated his attention onto the other side. He moved down her body and nestled his head between her legs, holding her hips in place and taking his time. She combed through his air and let out a soft moan when his lips and tongue found the delicate bundle of nerves and brought her closer to the edge all while lavishing her with praises.
He crawled up between her legs and she turned him over so that she was on top of him. She straddled his hips, and teased him briefly by grinding him against her folds then he slowly moved inside. She rolled her hips against him in a slow rhythm, having complete control of the pace. He looked up at her adoringly, then flipped over and started becoming more wild and erratic with his thrusts. She arched up against him and dragged her nails down his back when he hit all the right spots. He held her body close and spread kisses up and down the crook of her neck, whispering soft praises and love into her ear. She cried out when she came and felt a warmth spread as he finished inside her.
Afterwards, they held each other and whispered sweet nothings while he inhaled the ocean’s scent in her hair as she nuzzled into his chest and her fingers traced the lines of his elaborate tattoo. Every night thereafter, he could taste the saltwater on her skin.
He tried burning the coat. Once; on a night after they had been arguing when he was sure that she would find it and run away. He threw it into the fire while she was sleeping, and a minute later he heard a godawful shriek of pain coming from upstairs. She was writhing on the bed and the skin on her arms had started turning a angry and violent red. He put two and two together and rushed back downstairs to pull the coat out and stomp out the fire. He never bothered asking for forgiveness, knowing in his heart he didn’t deserve it, so he expressed his apology through his actions: applying salve to the burns on her skin, dressing her wounds every day, and holding her close every night. From then on, he kept the coat folded neatly in a large lacquered box under the floorboards of the house and never lashed out at her again.
A few weeks later, she had started becoming nauseous at certain smells and vomiting. Hanzo was worried that it was a side effect of her being stuck on land for too long, thinking that she might need to return to the ocean or she’ll die. Turns out, it was morning sickness.
Hanzo was elated at the news, and so was she. They were going to start a family! He brought her into town to shop for baby clothes and furniture, never once leaving her side. James and Aoife were curious about his new wife, having never seen her before in their small tight knit community.
“Where are you from, dear?” Aoife asked innocently
“She’s a selkie, darlin’, I already told ya!”
“Hush, dad!”
James pulls Hanzo to the side while Aoife helped his wife pick out some baby clothes.
“So, it worked, did it?! I knew it! The stories couldn’t’ve all been shite! How’d you do it? How’s life been for her on the surface? She doing alright?”
“James, although we are friends, I would appreciate it if you did not ask such outlandish questions about my new wife. They were only stories, old friend, nothing more.”
Hanzo felt bad for dismissing his old friend, especially since he was right; and James was noticeably hurt by this.
“Alright. Y’know…”
His once jovial expression suddenly grew dark and a grave seriousness was brought out in his tone.
“I’m not mad, boy. My wife Fiona may be gone, but I know a selkie when I see one! Their home is the sea, you know; an’ bless you for living close by, but it’s not the same to them. Once I gave my wife back her coat, she was gone for seven years! But in life, my Fiona was happy and she could come and go to the sea as she chose. It wasn’t until our Aoife was in primary school that she saw her for the first time and decided to stay. You can’t keep her from her home like that without at least giving her a choice! I saw the red marks on her arms… If a selkie’s coat is harmed, they can feel it. Don’t tell me you tried to burn her coat, lad?!”
Hanzo didn’t like being confronted, and he could kill the old man right then and there if they weren’t out in public. The fact that this man knew more than he let on brought out old impulses in Hanzo of wanting to tie up loose ends and how he would do away with a ‘problem’ like this in his old life. But he was a new man now, a good one; and he didn’t want to risk losing the happy life that he was about to have with his wife and child. He only snapped out of his incensed rage when his wife walked over to them.
“Hanzo?”
He almost jolted when she touched his arm.
“Yes? What is it, love?”
“Aoife and I are done shopping. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, beloved; I’m fine.”, he reassured her as he kissed her forehead.
He put his arm around her shoulder and the two started walking to their car. When his wife was out of earshot, he quickly walked over to James while Aoife was talking on the phone to her husband. Hanzo leaned forward then shot a look at James with his eyes full of hatred, and gave him a warning:
“Don’t ever talk to me or my wife again.”
Soon enough, Hanzo and his wife had set up a makeshift nursery in their tiny home, filled with clothes, toys, a changing station, and a canopy crib surrounded by a painted mural of the ocean.
There was a hurricane on the night she went into labor. The contractions had started and she clutched onto her stomach. Because of the weather, it was impossible to bring her to the hospital or call a doctor. While Hanzo ran upstairs to get medicine and the bed ready for an impromptu at-home birth, she slowly staggered out of their home and into the storm.
“I’m sorry”
He ran after her. They got separated when a tree was struck by lightning and fell over, blocking his path. Once he found another way around, he frantically searched the woods and shore until her cries gave way to the sound of the howling wind and roaring thunder. He kept trying to call out to her until his throat was raw and he could no longer make out her footprints in the sand. And in his grief he fell to his knees; the howl he let out was not human.
When the storm cleared the next morning, his exhausted and disheveled body remained in place, too despondent from the night before. His gaze was downcast and empty, staring off into the horizon but focusing on nothing in particular. There was a sound of something lumbering towards him, but he paid it no mind. Then he felt a tug as a bull seal bit down and pulled at him on his pant leg. Once the seal got his attention it started moving its body like an excited dog towards inland, down to where the sea joins with the river. He stood up and decided to follow the creature as it dove back into the water and occasionally lifted its head to turn and make sure he was still following behind.
The seal led him to a grotto a few hundred feet from where he last saw her footprints wash away on the edge of the river. He crept into the small cave and there, laying on her side at the edge of the water, was his wife. Her hair clung to the shape of her form, the dark color giving off the impression of her coat and a small pool of blood gathered at her lower half that trailed down into the water. Her skin was sickly white and pale, and to his relief he saw that she was alive, but barely- her body shivering weakly from the cold.
He rushed over to her side and held her close, kissing her forehead and rocking her back and forth.
“I’m sorry… she needed… the water…”
“Shh shh shh it’s alright, I’m here…”
She turned around to face him and in her arms was their newborn daughter- contentedly nursing at her breast while wrapped up in her own little white fur coat.

Ooooh boy, we are gonna be here all day so I am just going to do Korea and save the rest for later. I had to really cull!
A Love to Kill (2005) - I own Japanese DVDs of this, I was so obsessed. A dark, intense melo in which Rain gets a job as a bodyguard to a rising young star played by Shin Minah. His plan is to seduce and wreck her to avenge his dead brother (who he believes killed himself after she heartlessly left him for fame), but he recons without his own impossible feelings for her or the extent of SMA’s internal damage. They remain one of the most impossible, messed-up, intense, doomed OTPs I’ve ever shipped. Stock tissues.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJox8iEcFMs
All In (2003) - he is a gangster, she is a nun. Have I gotten your attention yet? This was a huge hit and Lee Byung Hun and Song Hye Kyo are out of this world together.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuVDFLOytQI
Beautiful Days (2001-2002) - a super classic, grown up melo about a plucky poor girl and a tortured workaholic and Choi Ji Woo and Lee Byung Hun set the screen on fire.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3skKcivjJs
Capital Scandal (2007) - somehow both frothy and deeply emotional, this centers on freedom fighters and playboys and spies in 1930s Seoul. If you don’t love it, you have no heart.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HN-0tERlaNM
Chuno/Slave Hunters (2009) - possibly my favorite sageuk (it’s a threeway tie atm), this story about an aristocrat turned slave hunter, a general turned slave, and a slave woman turned an aristocrat, all involved with rebellion, court secrets and sheer desperation of their lives is amazing. Beyond amazing. Jang Hyuk, Oh Ji Ho and Lee Da Hae are all on fire and if you ever watch only one sageuk, make it this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vAGdXpN6no
City Hall (2009) - Kim Sun Ah as a small town civil servant and Cha Seung Won as an amoral fixer for a powerful politician sparkle beyond words in the most grown up, smart kdrama romcom I have ever seen.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLek2pnv8yY
Coffee Prince (2007) - Yoon Eun Hye is a woman dressing as a man, Gong Yoo as a man horrified to discover he likes her while thinking she is a boy. This was a mad hit for a reason.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKSupXmez5w
Damo (2003) - my first sageuk, this is as good as ever. Ha Ji Won is a police tea servant, a noble lady whose family was executed and she came down in the world; Lee Seo Jin as her noble superior who loves her silently. She infiltrates a conspiracy led by the charismatic, tortured Kim Mim Joon, and epic tragedy follows.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGkglLvjJ9k
Delightful Girl Chunhyang (2005) - back when Hong Sisters were consistently good, this is a modern take on the famous folk tale. Our heroine is a studious poor girl and our hero a ne’er-do-well son of a local prosecutor. There is arranged marriage, true love surviving some insane sacrifice, one of my all time favorite OTPs, and a heroine and hero that grow into people I was obsessed with. Confession time - I wrote fanfic for this drama!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kTGHJZIUvA
East of Eden (2008-2009) - a sprawling multigenerational epic they don’t make much of any more, this has its flaws but the plots and brotherhood and romances and the characters and the revenge are so worth it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6LBIo16-e8
Emperor of the Sea/Sea God (2004-2005) - a larger than life sageuk epic they don’t make any more.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j53vbAxW3d4
Family’s Honor (2008) - Kdrama does North and South. Our heroine is a widow from an aristocratic family, our hero is a noveau riche ruthless businessman who gets attracted to her. This is so so good!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrAMgTKg_As
Fashion 70s (2005) - period drama about a bunch of intense cool peeps, fashion and love. Just watch it.
https://youtu.be/qly7vkFUv3g
Friend Our Legend (2009) - the most criminally underrated drama on this list, about a group of childhood friends turned gangsters and the tragic fall out.I want a rewatch rn tbh.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJQx3tA5cGs
Goong (2005) - a giddily fun take on an alternate universe where an icy modern crown prince and a bubbly commoner have to get married.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAjz-5b4P6A
Green Rose (2005) - this tale of a man (Go Soo) trying to get revenge and get back to his love (Lee Da Hae) is a modern take on Monte Cristo and has one of my fave opening scenes ever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epJt6jCIOlU
Hello My Teacher (2005) - Gong Yoo is a student in love with Gong Hyo Jin’s teacher.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNFoENWvEEk
Hong Gil Dong (2008) - starts out wacky, ends up by making me cry. A wonderful take on Korean Robin Hood and the OTP omg the OTP!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ingEOTBSnt0
IRIS (2009) - in the running for my favorite kdrama of all time, with definitely the most tortured hero, this starts out as a fun routine actioner until our hero’s life details in a horrifying fashion and even his attempts to right the world are doomed in this horrifyingly bleak, intense, romantic drama.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kesXxZOBzQ
Jumong (2006-2007) - the DADDY of all traditional sageuks, with insane ep count (81) and equally insane and deserved ratings. See our hero go from zero to hero and an awesome king.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILBnGNxtwXw
The Kingdom of the Winds (2008-2009) - Song Il Gook’s last sageuk (so far, though I don’t think he’s gonna bother to come back), a story about a cursed prince and his quest for love and throne, this is wonderful.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1qfC0yFIf0
Last Scandal (2008) - they dated in high school. Now she is an exhausted ahjumma with a deadbeat husband and he is a huge star. A second chance romance that starts out hilarious but turns profound follows. One of my all time faves.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zquHf8-p3ZU
The Legend (2007) - I’ve raved about it elsewhere; it is arguably my favorite sageuk of all time (or maybe even just plain fave kdrama), smart and passionate and hugely epic.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=853sc-s2hHE
Lobbyist (2007) - one of the very few actioners I’ve ever liked, and with more whump than you can shake a stick at, Song Il Gook is a tough as nails international arms dealer with an even tougher OTP (JJY) and this is a heaven of plot and love and hurt/comfort.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8puRJNmey4
Loveholic (2005) - a student/teacher romance AND a story about a man going to jail to protect the woman he loves all rolled into one. What more could you want?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6nVH75IRCM
Lovers (2006) - if it’s a smart adult love story you want, come right in!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgpe4VkbtNk
Mawang/The Devil/Lucifer (2007) - meet possibly my n1 kdrama of all time. Haunted past, tragedy, revenge, complicated characters and plot. If there is a perfect kdrama, this is it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkn1KYaCjVk
My Girl (2005) - Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae set the screen on fire in a romcom with hidden identities and plot twists. PS it is funny but when the drama starts, I literally bawled.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0jpSCN72Wg
One Fine Day (2006) - Sung Yuri and Gong Yoo in a lovely, angsty romance.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVeUG5U3oCU
Piano (2001-2002) - this is like who is who before they got to be big stars - Go Soo and Kim Hae Neul are in love but can’t be together because they are stepsiblings, Jo In Sung is a young gangster, tragedy and melo all around.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRG_4Uxl4Zo
Que Sera Sera (2007) - Eric and Jung Yumi play the ultimate dysfunctional couple. He uses his good looks to date rich generous women, she is a neighbor who is neither. Their levels of obsession with each other are insane.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4XqW14_A7k
Queen Seon Duk (2009) - want a female centric sageuk that is intense and epic and amazing? Look no further!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwIY4poVBNw
Resurrection (2005) - a tight, complex revenge thriller that more people should see.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_ZbmVAk8zQ
The Return of Iljimae/Moon River (2009) - Jung Il Woo’s debut, this is arguably my favorite take on Korean Robin Hood ever and except for Someday and Friend Our Legend, the most underrated drama on this list.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YjgmHVO3n0
Robber (2008) - Jang Hyuk and Lee Da Hae break my heart and then heal it in this intense story of a man preying on desperate women and a broken widow. Yes, it’s another two messed up people heal each other story. I love those!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDyy3UtUWeM
Romance (2002) - a teacher/student romance, with gorgeous young Kim Jae Won and Kim Ha Neul.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LBs1tnc5Js
Sang Do, Let’s Go to School - Gong Hyo Jin is a teacher, Rain is a gigolo taking gigs to support his son; they used to be each other’s first loves. It’s wistful and slice of life and utterly tragic. Written by Lee Kyung Hee of the A Love to Kill and Thank You fame.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRg1q3RULWk
Save the Last Dance for Me (2004-2005) - I binged 17 episodes of this baby at a go, a record that has not yet been surpassed. Ji Sung is a rich man who is in an accident and gets amnesia, being cared for and falling for Eugene. However when he recovers his memory and forgets his amnesia time - he will end up meeting her again and falling for her all over again (hilariously, his RL wife Lee Bo Young plays the psycho secondary girl in this.)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekfBrvJil8c
Say You Love Me (2004) - a much better attempt at Dangerous Liasons than the wretched Tempted. Kim Rae Won and Yoon So Yi, naive and tragic young lovers, come across a pair of jaded sophisticates; the female half of whom is intrigued by the fresh faced KRW and envious of uncomplicated young love and asks her partner to take YSI away from KRW for kicks.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niL2WJ_oAIU
Seoul 1945 (2006) - from WW2 to the Korean war, this is intense and smart and pulls no punches.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYsotv2rFQI
Shining Inheritance/Brilliant Legacy (2009) - Han Hyo Joo is a young woman tormented by her family; Lee Seung Gi is a spoiled rich boy who needs to grow up. I was obsessed with this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_sWhVZA3DY
Snow Queen (2006-2007) - Hyun Bin and Sung Yuri do a tragic romance melo right. He is a poor, smart kid, she is a brittle rich girl with a terminal illness. It hurts so good.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEkAbJLYVpk
Someday (2006) - a sheltered cartoonist suffering from a writer’s block meets a sort-of small time private detective. They are both haunted by their pasts but find hope and healing with each other.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLVijs891dw
Spring Day (2005) - a very solid melo where Jo In Sung ends up stealing the girl from the original leading man.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ps7l27OBnVQ
Spring Waltz (2006) - the last and, imo, best of the seasons dramas, possibly in my all time top 10 kdramas, it follows a haunted young pianist and his OTP and their shared tragic past and hope for the future.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IGO0DST8dk
Swallow the Sun (2009) - Ji Sung as the haunted mercenary wanting revenge on his father, Sung Yuri as his tough, common-sense girlfriend, one of my fave secondary OTPs (mercenary x stripper) etc etc.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C51efR5Iq5I
Thank You (2007) - Gong Hyo Jin is an island woman living with the stigma and agony of having an HIV positive child. Jang Hyuk is a surgeon haunted by the death of his girlfriend. Two lost souls find and heal each other in one of my all time favorites.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVk1TjvZZOw
Time Between Dog and Wolf (2007) - Lee Jun Ki is tortured a lot on his path to revenge and love. I loooove this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v24-57tLFH4
Tree of Heaven (2006) - only ten eps but bring your tissues for this tender and tragic and gorgeous love story between Park Shin Hye and Lee Wan, stepsiblings for a brief time; they reconnect when she’s a cleaner and he’s a gangster. I was sooooo obsessed with it!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnAZlXZjFcw
What Happened in Bali (2005) - Ha Ji Won, Jo In Sung and So Ji Sub are a trio of desperately damaged people entangled with each other in what is probably still the darkest melo I have seen out of Korea. Money grubbing poor woman played by HJW, high-strung, abused rich son played by JIS, or a cold, ambitious man on the rise SJS - pick any of them, there is enough damage to level a city.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKHcYvK5qZM
Will It Snow for Christmas (2009) - a melodrama with Go Soo and Han Ye Seul by Lee Kyung Hee.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvQ14gtCqvw
Worlds Within/The World That They Live In (2008) - the last candidate for my n1 kdrama of all time. By Noh Hee Kyung, with seemingly mundane lives of TV station personnel. But every character is someone you feel you know and Hyun Bin and Song Hye Kyo are both real and unreal as the OTP.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBHrjZ8T6a4
Congrats if you made it to the end!

E | 6k | Canon!verse, Hot, , PWP
post-9.01, in a slight AU wherein Cas comes to live with the Winchesters at the Bunker. Things get a little out of control.
that awkward moment when... by highermagicv
E | 7k | Hot, wing!Kink
All in all, with a full tank of gas and his radio turned up loud, Dean was in a pretty damn good mood. All that vanished into shock and concern when the sky lit up like daylight, as though someone had decided that black was so passé for nighttime.
This Temporary Flesh and Bone by misachan
E | 5k | Canon!verse, h/c, wing!kink
Castiel doesn't serve Dean, fine, Dean has no problem with that - he just wants to know why Castiel's showing up in his dreams again.
What a fabulous little Fic. Very emotional. S4 cas is my FAVORITE.
Only Fools Rush In by baka_sensei
E | 18k | Canon!verse, soulbond
Dean does something and in angelic tradition that means he's become Castiel's fiancé. Dean doesn't know if he wants to get married, but he doesn't want to let Castiel down either. Cas lets his feelings run away with him, Gabe is a total dick, Sam is concerned, and Dean has to make a choice.
 Learning Curve by blualbino
T | 1k | Fluff, Canon!verse
Cas has nice lips. They’re soft looking. Plush even. Dean can do this.
 Dinner At Katz's by nanoochka
E | 2k | Hot, canon!verse
Dean might have to teach Cas how to have a When Harry Met Sally-esque orgasm, but he certainly doesn’t have to fake it.
Free With His Hands by watermaline
E | 2k | canon!verse, handprint!kink
The first time it happens, Dean chalks it up to…well, he doesn’t chalk it up to anything, he’s too busy coming his brains out in his jeans with Castiel’s hand on his shoulder.
 Desecrate that Sanctuary by brokentoy
E | 3k | Hot, Alt!Canon Verse
Dean develops a fascination with Cas' bones.
What Once Was Sacred by saltandbyrne
E | 55k |  Hot,  AU, Cop Dean, DJ Cas
 Freefall by LastKnownWriter
E | 128k | Hot, Fluff,  AU, Teacher Dean, Firefighter Cas
The Best Years of Our Lives, My Ass ❤ by ireallyhatecornnuts
E | 110k | Hot,  Fluff,  HS AU but not really,
AU after Season 8, episode 6, "Southern Comfort." Dean goes to sleep in a motel room in Texarkana, and he wakes up 17 years old, in his childhood bedroom in Lawrence, Kansas, 1996.
Some homophobia from non-central characters.
  deus ex nihilo by Valyria
E | 7k | AU, dubcon, god cas
Lost on an uncharted island, Dean Winchester is captured by the local villagers and offered up as a sacrifice to their winged god. Castiel takes one look at Dean and decides he wants him for a mate.
Twist and Shout ❤ by gabriel
E | 97k | Angst,  AU, Main Character Death
 Angel Slayer by emwebb17
E | 138k | Jensen/Misha, Mystery, AU
FBI Special Agent Jensen Ackles tracked a serial killer dubbed the Angel Slayer for six months in Washington, DC—the murderer was vicious, depraved, carved the names of angels into the victims’ chests…and eluded capture. Over eight years later, a murder in small Elton, NH has too many similarities for Jensen to ignore. Paired with a green agent, Jared Padalecki, Jensen travels to Elton to solve the case that has been haunting him for nearly a decade. In the course of the investigation the agents come across a local police officer named Misha Collins—who may have a deadly connection to the Angel Slayer.
 Carry On ❤ by TamrynEradani
E | 148k | Hot,  AU, Sub!dean, Dom!Cas
When Sam gets into Stanford, Dean needs a bigger paycheck than Bobby's garage can give him. Luckily, he knows a guy.
Forget 50 Shades of Grey, they should make this fic into a movie! Even if you are not a fan of Sub!Dean, give this fic a shot, because it is nearly perfect.
 Glasses by Samanthapin
E | 9k | Fluff, High School AU, punk!cas, nerd!dean
Teasing turns flirting turns dating turns grossly soppy boyfriends
beer and bacon happy hour by outpastthemoat
G | 2k | canon!verse, s8
The problem is that Dean’s been having good ideas all night. “No one insults the trenchcoat,” Dean says, and drives his fist into the other dude’s face. Dean figures he was bound to run out of good ideas eventually.
 Hard Road ❤ by aleishapotter
E | 54k | Canon!verse
Dean discovers a few truths about himself when he and Cas are forced to go undercover on a hunt to the very last place Dean ever thought he'd find himself: a gay resort called "Last Hope" that is geared towards helping troubled homosexual couples repair their relationships. This fic is hilarious and hot--my favorite things.
 Dean Smith Verse by TamrynEradani
E | 17k | Hot,  BDSM, AU, Sub!Dean
Dean Smith is a man of routine. Castiel takes him apart.
Bratishka: Little Brother by Valyria
E | 33k | Cop AU, Cop Dean, Lawyer Cas
Dean thinks he knows pretty much everything there is to know about his best friend Castiel Novak - he's a smart, gorgeous DA who probably lets Dean get away with more than he should to see the bad guy locked up - but it turns out Cas is hiding some dark family secrets.
the way to a man's heart by mkhunterz
M | 15k | Fluff,  Canon!verse
Dean teaches Cas to cook, and other things as well.
 Branded by garrisonbabe
E | 12k | | canon!verse, soul bond, marking/claiming
Michael mocked Castiel, telling him he'd never get Dean the way he truly wanted. No matter the mark on Dean's soul, he'd never get him the way the archangel could take him. Dean finds a ritual that fixes that and a few other issues.
Our Bodies, Posessed by Light by obstinatrix
E | 39k | canon!verse, sastiel bromance, Fluff
So Glad We Made It  ❤by scaramouche
M | 16k | Fluff,  AU
At twelve years old, Dean makes a friend, who becomes his best friend, who will eventually become the love of his life.
Oh, the best friends who grow up together AU. I have a soft spot for fics like these-- comes with pining, awkward misunderstandings, and a good basis for a realistic relationship.
Shut Up (Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is) ❤ by kototyph
E | 23k | Fluff,  college au
But the Fire is So Delightful by kototyph
E | 5k | Hot, hate then love, College AU
Apparently, it’s been snowing all day. [Dean is a Douchebag Fratboy with a Cherry Ass, Castiel is Angry and Aroused]
 Stitches by askance
T | 23k |  Fluff, h/c, blindness, Canon!verse
Castiel survived Leviathan--but only barely. Vessel mauled and eyes destroyed, Cas is barely clinging to what's left of his grace when Dean finds him naked and alone on the reservoir's edge; in a panic, Dean brings him home to the cabin where he and Sam have been holed up off the grid. What follows is the slow process of the angel's recovery and the unexpected changes that come with his being blind, and in the three months this takes, their little family slowly begins to patch itself back together in forgiveness, love, and darkness.
When Charlie Met Cas by riseofthefallenone
E | 25k | Fluff,  canon!versE |
Charlie is back in all her glory. The Winchesters have showed up on her doorstep and she’s making the best of it the only way she knows how. By being the little sister Dean never wanted and shipping the shit out of Destiel.
The Curious Case of Wee Baby Cas Things by tracy_loo_who
G | 4k | Gen, crack
In which Dean and Sam get saddled with a herd of Cas-like baby animals. Meanwhile, Castiel just wants a hug.
The Life After the Morning After by saltyfeathers
T | 17k
Dean and Cas get uber drunk on their last day of University. They end up married. Neither of them seem to mind.
The Girlfriend Experience ❤ by Rageprufrock
E | 15k | Hot,  Canon!Verse, First time
While it's not like Dean hasn't had a couple of truly regrettable hit-and-runs in his sexual history, this is probably the saddest fucking thing that has ever happened to him.
Classic Casturbation fic. Complete with steamy sexytimes, hilarious dialogue, and fed up and clueless Dean. Perfect.
 Asunder by Rageprufrock
E | 23k | Sam/Ruby, Hospital AU Fluff,
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. (Matthew 19:6)
Hands, From Which All Things Are Built by MajorEnglishEsquire
T | 14k | Canon!Verse, s8
Castiel travels with the angel tablet and without the Winchesters. One day, Dean gets a text from some anonymous number. (They speak in the language of need.)
