How funny would it be if Noir relied on Hobie to update him on current day politics while being completely out of touch with modern day gay humor
Miguel yells at Hobie one (1) time and then Hobie tells Noir it's because he's anti-black and Noir takes it 100% seriously
Miguel rants about why Gwen shouldn't crash in Hobie's dimension and he says "He hates to see the gays winning" and Noir also takes this as a hard fact
One day Hobie and Noir show up to Spidey HQ covered in nazi blood from other dimensions and Miguel snaps at them about disrupting canon and finally Noir steps up and says
"I've had enough of this anti-black homophobe" with deadly seriousness and Hobie almost passes the fuck out
Tina Bell: frontwoman of the band Bam Bam, often called the Godmother of grunge because of its influence. Racism within the scene has led to her influence being pretty extensively erased but her bandmate and lifelong friend Scotty Buttocks has been working hard to counteract that by doing press and preserving their music here. Kurt fucking Cobain was their roadie
Betty Davis: 70s funk rock legend who just recently passed away. Incredibly unique performer that was way ahead of her time. Not to be confused with Bette Davis.
Sistah Grrrl Riots: A black punk collective put together in response to alienation and racism in the 90s punk and riot grrrl scenes. Organized by legends Tamar-Kali Brown, Honeychild Coleman, Maya Glick, and Simi Stone. You can read more about sistah grrrl in this article.
Ronnie Spector: Frontwoman of the Ronettes and rock n roll pioneer. Black girl groups were a huge influence on the sound of Rock n Roll as we know it from The Beatles to Led Zepplin to the Rolling Stones. She recently passed but her autobiography came out last year and it's worth the read.

“hobie and pavitr are my favorites” lets give it up once again for miles morales. miles morales proud afropuertorican. miles morales who keeps being pushed to the side in his own story. miles morales who tells you himself he’ll create his own path. miles morales who will not let anyone stand in his way from saving those he loves. miles morales who will put himself in danger so pavitr, a stranger he has just met, doesnt have to suffer the same fate of all the other spideys. miles morales who in purely existing is punk as fuck and hobie clocks it from the start and has his back. lets give it up for miles morales, because even outside the movies he keeps being pushed aside in his own story
When Miles gets mad, he speaks Spanish. And I'm talking bout that, "Rio is mad about to beat somebody ass" type of Spanish. That's how any spider-person knows they've pissed him off.
And it scares a good amount of them too because he's acting like somebody Mama snapping his fingers when they aren't paying attention to what he is saying, pacing back and fourth, shaking his head, mumbling stuff ect.
But you know Miles, he is switching back and forth from Spanish and English. Which makes them like 10times more scary. Because to them it's like "I understand you man and I'm sorry," then it's "I lost you- what did you say!? What am I supposed to do!? Oh my gosh!!" And he ends ever angry rant with either, "Don't do that shit again" or "do you understand me" (like I said - like somebody's mama)
And Hobie? Hobie is the biggest instigator, so if he so happens to hear, walk by, be in the room whatever- he will back up Miles all the way. Because he thinks Miles looks cute when he gets mad. Yea, he's scarying the crap out of whoever he's screaming at, but to Hobie, it's cute. The way his face is scrunched up and the way he's probably cussing the person out. Hobie doesn't understand him but he backs him up all the way even if Miles is wrong.
Bonus:
Miguel agrees with everything Miles is saying when he's mad because he found out that Miles got a B in Spanish, so he is shocked when Miles comes into his office one day going on a full rant (in Spanish) about some of the spider-people who where being openingly racist. Miguel is so shocked that he doesn't say anything, making Miles walk out of the room to sit them straight himself.
And ever since then, Miguel just agrees every time he hears Miles say, "Right, Tio!?" And he records and sends it to Rio.(I believe that Miguel, MJ and Rio have become Mom Friends you can't change my mind-)
hobie speaking up for miles when he saw a clear power imbalance actually means everything to me. expecially when we discuss the fact that miles is planning to attend a prestigous pwi and won't always have someone in the room who's willing to see the best in him
Damn does this guy have to do everything in this goddamn house
He gotta house Gwen he gotta build a watch he gotta teach Miles about his powers he gotta leave the watch for Gwen he gotta make some more for the squad he gotta save they relationship
What's next?? He gotta pick up your groceries too? 😭😭 clean your doors and polish your floors? Kill Miguel with his bare hands?
Can my mans relax 😩😩😩 how about we let the girl grow and repair her relationships herself huh?
How about we give Hobie a movie of his own where he can do shit for himself without having to fix other people's nonsense first how's about that is that okay
It honestly makes sense that Noir and Ham didn't end up in the Spider Society because a Nazi-punching Detective and a Cartoon Reporter would've almost immediately clocked everything wrong with Miguel's "stick to the script" "some losses are acceptable and necessary, actually" philosophy, and they would not have been able to be nearly as subtle as Hobie when going against him.
