This ask is going to be kind of long, but your platform is really the only platform where I feel comfortable having this conversation. You don’t have to post this if you don’t want to, I won’t feel any sort of ways about it, but I’ve got to get this feeling out of my system. The way the fandom treats Fates compared to the other games in the franchise, makes them completely unbearable. I don’t think I can forgive the fandom for it even if they did somehow start giving Fates its overdue credit. Treating its fans like shit for almost a decade is unacceptable. I don’t know how so many people can justify their behavior in regards to this game. The fans of this game have literally done nothing to the fandom other than love it unapologetically, and we still get condescended to about it. You dare offer your opinion about a take in the series and it’s like, “You’re a Corrin fan, you have no right to talk about anything.” I have never seen a group of fans that have to literally HIDE the fact that they cherish a game in order to appease its larger community, it’s so disgusting. I don’t care if I’m being harsh with this ask because I have witnessed and dealt with this condescension for years. I don’t care to spare any feelings at this point, and I think the fandom certainly doesn’t deserve any of our grace either. Calling out the elitism, cliquish behavior, and hypocrisy is the right thing to do no matter how much some people soften/normalize these issues.

It's certainly an unfortunate situation. While Fates has its problems--I say this as a diehard fan--I agree in that it's in a singular situation where it's just met with derision initially and only given praise in backhanded manners. Think "Fates sucks but it does have great X and Y" and including an obligatory compliment towards Conquest. Which, don't get me wrong, Conquest is fucking amazing in the gameplay department, but half the time I'm just like... all right, I think you're just pretending to like anything of Fates just because you feel obligated to like one of the most acclaimed gameplay centered entries in the series.
There was just the perfect storm of controversy and unmet expectations that people had towards the game: the woefully inaccurate conversion therapy accusations, the romance options, the sales model of having multiple versions, the story not being liked, Corrin not being liked, the cast being seen as tropey, the fanservice hatred, etc. Its reputation from pre-release to nearly a decade after release is just a swamp of negativity.
And, in risk of sounding defensive and deflective, Awakening did most of this first. Awakening used being gay as a constant punchline especially in DLC (but people are reclaiming that now as something to be praised cuz of course), Awakening had problematic romance options (Nowi, any of the children but especially Nah, Donnel, Ricken, and Lissa are still underage, Aversa is technically your sister and she's written in the M!Robin support to tease that aspect, Tharja in her entirety), Awakening's cast was the de facto tropey cast before Fates, its story was criticized for the same things Fates was (poorly explained lore and world, pacing issues, convenient plot devices, pandering to a previous game, and had its exclusive issue of being inconsistent with Archanea's lore), Robin was criticized for being an all loved player insert with too many powers/importance, it started the oddly designed armor designs for fanservice reasons, and while it didn't have multiple versions, it was the first game with a ton of paid DLC.
Don't get me wrong, I love Awakening to pieces. But that game started pretty much everything Fates gets shit for. Yet it gets retrospective love or at the very least a pass cuz... Fates does it worse/more and because it was gonna be the last game in the series? Wouldn't it be fair then, to give slack to Fates for following in the footsteps of the most well received and successful game in the series by replicating it while trying to improve on what some felt were lacking? But I guess at that point, people think it utterly failed in improving on the story and characters so :/
I think you have a point regarding Fates fans as well. We're pretty much the only FE fans that get unironic negative labels, at least by casual aduiences. Apparetnly we're "coomer, porn brain freaks who don't know what good games are." Though, that's about it in terms of the elitism thing, otherwise I think it's just fans of older games being out off by the direction newer games have gone, and most make no distinction and criticize all of Awakening, Fates, 3H, and Engage. Still, Fates fans are the ones getting the most accepted flak.
To end this off, let's be honest: If Fates is the example most people give of the worst game in the series, FE fans have it pretty fucking good lmao.

OH I HAVE A CHART FOR THIS
(i can’t remember where the template is from, but a lot of people were using it on deviantart back in the day)
these are the ones that i use for my non-support log runs and in my personal “canon” for when i think about the dire future and stuff. honorable mentions go to lon’qu/miriel, sully/virion, and lucina/inigo; a lot of factors went into The Chart, though, so those ended up losing out for one reason or another. as a kid i also really loved vaike/nowi, and i still think their supports are very sweet (plus vaike’s future past conversation with nah guts me every time i think about it), but as an adult, nowi’s design just makes it way too weird for me to continue using it. i have a few that fall outside of in-game S-supports too, mainly say’ri/tiki and sully/miriel (sully has 2 hands), but as for in-game stuff this is all of them!

Nowi, Getting Accepted into the Family
Thank you so much for your support as always, @xpegasusuniverse! This one was so much fun to write I got carried away! lkasçdmkas I hope you like it!
Summary: Before fulfilling their promise of traveling the world to enjoy all of its festivals, Nowi and Ricken had to go back to his estate to introduce the manakete into the family. While his Father was away at work, they were received by his Mother, who although found Nowi’s ears strange, didn’t make the connection at first...

The Fell Dragon had been destroyed for good -- along with Robin's sacrifice, any hopes the Grimleal had of reviving their false god had turned to ashes. The Halidom grieved the loss of their master tactician -- and make no mistake, the Shepherds would not rest until they had found him.
However, life still had to go on. The rebuilding of Ylisse and Plegia would take a few years at the very least, so it was not as though they had many resources to spare in their searches.
Many Shepherds also had their own futures to see to; be that devoting themselves to study or training so they could rise in their ranks or by returning home to take over their family business.
Or to keep promises with their loved ones, as it was Ricken and Nowi's case.
Before exchanging their vows, they had promised to travel the world to enjoy and study any and all possible festivals they could find: Harvest festivals, Lover's Day Festival, Summer/Winter Solstice Festivals, Flower Festivals... all of them!
... But first, they had to return to Ricken's estate to report their marriage to his family. He was a noble, after all, albeit mostly by name only.
"Okay, Nowi, repeat after me: Euryphaessa." Ricken held his sweetheart's hand as they were shown into his family's state.
Nowi protruded her lips, squinted and frowned. "Uryfneas- Aw, I can't do this, Ricken! Why did your dumb family have to have such a complicated name?!" She threw her hands upwards, taking Ricken's own with them.
Pouting, Ricken stomped his foot on the floor. "It's not dumb! And you gotta learn how to say it! You're part of the family now!"
"B-but it's so hard! Can't I just direct the person asking my family's name to you since you'll always be with me anyway? I'll be like 'youuuu can just ask my hubby here, he knows a lot more than me!' and we'll all be happy!"
"No, no, no! You gotta learn!"
Nowi's cheeks puffed twice the size of Ricken's. "My tongue can't make these complicated sounds! Human names are so hard; why can't we just have our own names and be done with it?!"
Reddening, ready to pick a fight, Ricken got on his toes to gain a slight height advantage over his newly-wed. "Well, see here! The history of our family -- your family, too! -- is extense and our lands cover-" He pointed with his index to her nose, not realizing that they had stopped walking in the middle of the hall of the Euryphaessa mansion.
In front of them, a tall, copper-haired woman cleared her throat to attract their attention. "Am I interrupting something, dear son of mine?"
Hearing his Mother, Lady Calylea’s voice made Ricken suddenly lose all of the air he had taken, quite literally shrinking back into his short height. "M-Mother! Hi! It's, um, it's good to see you!"
"Honestly," the woman took a few steps towards her boy, grasping him into a tight hug. "I haven't seen you in almost four years and that's how you come back home? Arguing with the one I can only assume is your beloved?"
"M-Motherrr! I'm not a child anymore, you can't just hug me like that in front of everyone!" He struggled to get away from the woman's grip, though from an outsider's eye he just looked like a kitten wanting out of its mother's embrace.
Nowi put one index over her lower lip, pouting slightly. "Why not? I wanted MY mom to hug me like that, too."
Ricken suddenly stopped struggling, remembering what Nowi had said about the seemingly loss of her family and how she didn't want to be left alone any longer. Instantly did the hostile feelings melt away, quite literally opening his eyes to see the lonely girl he had proposed to.
"I-I'm sorry about that outburst earlier, Nowi." Free from his mother's arms, Ricken trotted to his wife's side, taking her hand. "It's okay to take your time to say the name of our family. You'll be one of us forever, anyway."
Uncharacteristically bashful, Nowi looked down at their handhold, intertwining their fingers. "Mhm. I'm sorry for calling it 'dumb', too. It's not dumb if it's important to you."
"Ah, youth!" Lady Calylea clapped lovingly, quickly patting both young ones' backs. "Now, let us move to a tea room, shall we? I wager you have much to tell me now that you're home for good! And I cannot wait to hear more about my new in-law, either!"
"Weh? For good? But we're gonna go travel right away!" Nowi blurted out as they were seen into the tea room, the alluring smell of freshly baked sweets and warm beverage making her sit by the round table to stuff her face with them.
The Lady frowned, looking from her in-law to her son. "Ricken, what is this about?"
"Uh, I think I told you before, Mother? About how I was gonna come home to get a few funds to travel... I know we don't have much to spare and I don't want to ask for much, but only for the start of our journey, I'd like to have a bit more money-"
"Ohhh, so this 'funds' thing you kept saying is 'money'!" Nowi placed a closed fist over her open palm as though making the discovery of the century. But her bright expression immediately clouded. "Huh? But why do you need money? I don't need money when I travel..."
"Wha- Nowi?!" He started citing examples, lifting one finger for each term. "For transport-"
"I can just fly us there!"
"- for food-"
"You don't need to buy food... I can just, like, eat a whole cow or something."
"-for lodging- Hey, don't go around eating other people's cows! What about their business?!"
"Besides, Donny taught me how to hunt! We don't need money- and I wouldn't eat someone's cow, silly! Just a wild one or something. Maybe a horse. I don't really wanna eat wyverns, though... What if they're my cousins or something."
A macaroon fell from Lady Calylea’s hand as she watched her son and his wife talking all at the same time -- about the most absurd topics! What did she mean eat an entire cow or being COUSINS with wyverns?!
All of her noble training went into action as she managed not to break down in a nervous laughter. "Ri...cken? My dear son, what is going on? Surely you can explain to your mother the reason why your beloved is saying all of this-"
Nowi quickly turned to her in-law with an expression that could only be discerned as looking down on someone. Maybe for their ignorance. Perhaps she was laughing, too. Calylea couldn't tell very well from how her eyesight blurred from all the stimuli. "Huh? I'm a dragon! Didn't my ears give it away?" Nowi touched their pointy bits with her sweet-stained fingers, smearing a bit of chocolate- or perhaps vanilla -- onto them.
"Nowi, you're making a mess-" Ricken cleaned her ears by instinct, immediately blinking to turn to his mother. "Oh, Mother, she's a-"
"D-dragon?" Lady Calylea stuttered, her eyebrow flickering.
"Yeah! You know, like grrrh." Nowi made a clawing movement with her hand.
Ricken and Calylea both exchanged glances, though their expressions could not be more opposite of each other. "What-"
"Like, grrrrh!" She pawned again, growling slightly. It made Ricken blush with endearment at the same time his Mother lost the color on her face.
"You married a manakete?! A holy, immortal being-" Calylea choked on her own words, quickly prostrating herself on the ground. "Oh, forgive my rudeness, O mighty-"
"M-mother?!"
"Oh! Oh no no no, she's worshiping me, please don't worship me!" Nowi lied down on the floor in front of Calylea’s deep bowing position, looking at her from below. "Okay? Please don't worship me? I'm, like, a thousand years old or something, but I'm really just Nowi, okay?" She placed both indexes over her cheeks, smiling foolishly. "Okay?!"
"H-however, my Lady-"
Panicking slightly, Nowi quickly shut Calylea up with both of her hands. "B-besides, you're my family now, right? My- my Mother-in-law? That's too long, so I'm just gonna call you Mom from now on, okay? I don't really remember my Mom and I've been alone for so long; please don't push me away by worshiping me, okay? Okay?! ... Mom?"
If one could actually see it, Lady Calylea felt as though an arrow had pierced through her heart. True, Nowi was somewhat of an ancient and sacred being, but she also was her son's wife and she... looked so small and lonely...
Something clicked inside the Lady, making her blink lovingly, as though a 'Mom Switch' had been flipped. She slowly took Nowi's hands from her mouth, smiling motherly to the young-looking girl. "Of... of course, Nowi. If that's how you want it, then by all means, you can call me 'Mom'. I'm sure we'll get along swimmingly from now on."
"Yayyy! I have a new Mom now!" The manakete jumped up, hugging Calylea with everything she had. "I can't wait to show our kid to you! Nah's gonna love having a granny!"
Calylea started foaming through the mouth instantly. "A g-grandchild!? RICKEN?!"

I was curious if you had any specific parents in mind for the second generation of your Future series? I know Sumia is Lucina's mother and Lon'qu is Owain's father but I was curious if you had any other specifics in mind.
I actually have all the pairings decided. Besides the afformentioned Chrom x Sumia and Lon'qu x Lissa, they are as follows:

Fire Emblem Awakening Mistletoe Headcanons
Hello hello! This past year for my Instagram page I run for my favourite games, I tried to do a holiday theme. In doing so, I opted to do a set of mistletoe headcanons for Awakening, Fates, and Three Houses based on requests from my followers. They turned out so cute that I thought I might share with you! This one will just be for Awakening, but I’ll attach the ones for Fates and Three Houses when I’ve got them set up ;)

Features: Robin/Olivia, Robin/Cordelia, Nowi/Ricken, Maribelle/Lissa, Chrom/M Robin, Lucina/Severa, Owain/Inigo, Frederick/Chrom
Robin/Olivia:
I think Robin for sure plans theirs, but as respectfully as possible, for Olivia’s sake. He strings the mistletoe up at the top of their tent for when she comes home, a smile on his face as he thinks of what she’ll say when she notices. With nothing left to do after that, he decides to bury himself in a tactics book and start preparing.
It’s about an hour or so before Olivia ducks into their tent, chatting to Robin about the warmth of the fire, when she notices the mistletoe hanging above them. She turns pink immediately. Worried about her reaction, Robin insists that he did it to give her a private, romantic moment without her getting embarrassed. He thought it would be sweet, but if she’s not comfortable, then they don’t have to go for it. Fanning away the heat from her face, Olivia thanks him for the sweet gesture and squeezes her eyes shut. For a moment he can’t figure out what she’s doing, until he realizes she’s waiting to be kissed. Grinning to himself, he leans forward and gives her the sweetest kiss.
Robin/Cordelia:
When it comes to mistletoe kisses, Cordelia knows what she wants, so she’s not afraid to get cheeky with it. She elects to hang the mistletoe from her pegasus-wing hair piece, just along the side of her hair, like it’s its own decoration. Step two of the plan is, of course, seek out Robin. As soon as he makes eye contact with his partner, he bursts out laughing, telling her just how cute he thinks she is.
“Only you would come up with something like this, Lia,” he snickers, wrapping his arms around her waist. Stopping to plant a kiss on her forehead first, he then moves to press his lips to hers. She can’t help but smile into the kiss, feeling so clever — she’d like to see *that* strategy in “Make Him Fall For You in a Fortknight”!
Nowi/Ricken:
Over the years, Nowi has learned a thing or two about mistletoe, and is very excited to finally have someone to share a kiss with. With some help from the other Shepherds, she sets up an entire scavenger hunt on a day they aren’t marching. It’s full of as many clever tricks and puzzles as she can manage, but doesn’t take them too far from camp in case they’re needed.
Ricken, happy to spend time with Nowi, is delighted to play. He takes great care to solve each of the puzzles until finally they find a cute, wrapped box. Nowi implores Ricken to open it, and he does… The second he lays eyes on the mistletoe, his cheeks flush pink.
“Do you like it?” Nowi asks, bouncing on her heels. Ricken nods. “So can I kiss you, then?”
Ricken nods again, pulling her close. His arms hang stupidly at his sides as their lips meet, but Nowi is all too content to be with him. Their kiss is gentle, sweet, and cute, just like them!
Maribelle/Lissa:
These two get their kiss on a date together in town. Picture a moonlit evening in town, the snow falling around the two girls, Lissa’s finger laced with Maribelle’s. As they wander around the market, looking at trinkets and fashion items, they come across a stall with an elderly lady selling fruits. Lissa is so excited to see that clementines are in season, she doesn’t even notice that there is mistletoe hanging from the top.
The stall runner smiles as Maribelle points it out, saying that it’s to inspire a little spirit. Maribelle asks if it’s alright that they kiss, not wanting to be awkward, and is assured that that’s the whole point. She feels a bit awkward, looking over at Lissa, but the happiness on her partner’s face is enough to convince her to go ahead. Tucking a strand of Lissa’s hair behind her ear, Maribelle leans in and kisses her, who grins all throughout. Her cheeks prick with heat as she hears the other marketgoers applaud, but feeling Lissa against her, her happiness running throughout the kiss… it’s all she needs to feel okay.
M Robin/Chrom:
Theirs is probably one of those spontaneous kisses. Probably set up by the other Shepherds, to be honest. Mostly Lissa. She lures both men into the forest, insisting that the other is in dire need of their help. They go running, flying through the forest, coming just to where Lissa instructed, the little pond that they’ve been getting fish out of. They are more than a little confused to see the other one standing there.
They discuss back and forth what happened, if the other is hurt or not, until Robin takes notice of the mistletoe hanging on a branch above them. He smiles and laughs, shaking his head. Chrom is a bit flustered, insisting that Lissa will get an earful for this one. Robin asks if that means that he won’t get his kiss, which only makes Chrom more flustered. “If you want one,” he replies, to which Robin responds by pushing himself onto the tips of his toes. Sighing, Chrom leans forward and joins their lips, heart racing like it’s the first time again.
Lucina/Severa:
Whatever. Severa so totally doesn’t care about any of that mistletoe stuff. Except she does, but it’s Severa, so she’s never gonna say anything. But the blatant crushing that’s going on with her is totally killing Cynthia, who take matters into their own hands… with an invention they call “the Mistletoe Stick”. It’s about what you think it is. Rather than attempting something classy, they proceed to essentially chase poor Severa around with it, insisting that the person she ends up under it with is the person she has to kiss.
Cynthia makes all kinds of jokes about seeking out Inigo or Brady, but it’s all to keep Severa on the run. In truth, she leads her right to Lucina, whom she collides with. Severa is horrified, sputtering awkwardly as Cynthia speaks loudly over her to explain the rules. Eyes bouncing between the two of them, Lucina lets out a soft laugh and assures Severa that she understands it’s all in the spirit of the season. Ever so gently, she presses her lips to Severa’s cheek, her other hand holding her face close. Sev turns about as red as her hair, and Cynthia squeals. It’s not the kiss that anyone was expecting, but it’ll do… for now.
Owain/Inigo:
They absolutely ended up under the mistletoe as an accident. They’ve been sent on errands to a local town, and as they’re there, they find themselves inexplicably under mistletoe in the store. Inigo immediately complains, lamenting why he couldn’t end up with a pretty girl instead. Owain scoffs, insisting that he couldn’t handle the powerful kiss of Owain Dark. Inigo rolls his eyes, and the two start bickering, with Inigo insisting he won’t kiss him but it’s not because he’s too weak, and Owain just poking the bear.
They’re practically shouting by the end of it, Owain giving speech after convoluted speech to tell him that he must have courage to do so, until Inigo finally gets sick of it. Grabbing Owain by the face, he smashes his lips against his. It hurts a bit, mostly because Inigo has forcibly shoved their noses together, but it’s surprisingly… nice. Inigo’s lips are softer than he thought they would be, and warmer, too… The whole way home, he’s trying to silence the new butterflies in his stomach. Inigo may or may not be feeling the same, vowing to get advice from Olivia on how to proceed.
Frederick/Chrom:
The fact that these two ever kissed is like a miracle, honestly. Frederick wouldn’t want to interfere with his position, and Chrom has known Frederick for too long to even think that he might want to kiss him, but… it’s definitely wanted on both sides. With no other choice, Chrom decides he’s going to acquire some mistletoe, to see if he can convince Frederick…
Only issue? He can’t find any anywhere. Even with help from Robin and Lissa, it’s a total no-go. He’s got no luck. What is he supposed to do? Still determined to get his kiss one way or another, he grabs a bunch of similar looking leaves and hangs them where Frederick can’t miss them. It’s not hard for him to lure Frederick over there, and he pulls the importance of tradition card to get them the rest of the way there. The kiss is, at first, awkward, but as Frederick relaxes into the idea, the kiss becomes much more passionate. They break apart after a minute or so, staring into each other’s eyes, until Frederick promptly comes to realization. Naga help him, that is not mistletoe.

Given the Awakening multiverse do you have a specific canon?
are you asking what is my specific canon or is there a general canon?
as for general canon, i would say chrom x sumia since it’s in the opening along with inigo, owain, and severa being born (no specific fathers) since they’re canon in fates.
my personal canon is based on my second playthrough. in my first one i played as female robin and accidentally married chrom… which uhh… i didn’t want to happen since i’m not a fan of the chromxrobin ship. i think it’s over done and chokes the life out of other pairings in the fandom.
since i don’t like my first playthrough i don’t consider it my canon. my second time playing i used m!robin since my dislike of chrobin extends to f!robin as well (also i hate her design). plus warriors seems to treat m!robin as the canon avatar with f!corrin as the one for fates.
so for my canon it’s the following:
m!robin x nowi = nah & manakete!morgan (i love this little family so much 🥺)
tharja x virion (their supports slap and i think their personalities work well together)
kellam x panne (idk they were cute lol)

For now the Engage fandom is safe but I fear the moment we are gonna get the moment where people will fight over ships again. First we had Awakening where people who don't understand how time travel works were bugged up by the fact that Robin can marry the 2nd gen because "they are still babies !" since they apparently never learn what multiverse means nor watched many time travel media, or marrying Nowi or Ricken when you had the loli and shota models to do the trick. Same thing for Fates, people fighting over Kamui/Corrin x the Royals despite the fact that Leo is almost the only character Corrin had actual chemsitry with in the support conversation, still were not ok with the 2nd generation and marrying Hayato. Then 3 houses had a whole debate on whether Byleth can marry their ex-students or not, if marryin Rhea was incest or not because people don't understand how organ transplantation works, and so on. Now we escape the Anna and Jean controversy despite the fact that even in the japanses version you don't marry them because it's too soon and theu just stay friend (the exact same thing that Azura said to Hayato in their S support) but since Alear is still physically 17 and can only marry people who are elder than them, I am sure we are gonna have some problem here.
That's the thing I was wondering a bit about too, since Engage (at least from my experience) is surprisingly... chaste? Like, there's definitely material to work with, don't get me wrong, but after the S supports of the 3DS games and a good deal of the A ranks in 3H, the characters are decidedly more friendly than possibly intimate. Aside from Alear of course, cuz everyone wants a ride lol. But that's most likely because IS saw people liking the S supports and probably thought "oh it's cuz people like having digital wives" and made it avatar only.
But train of thought aside, discourse is inevitable cuz people will get mad that the "wrong" ships are being shipped and blah blah blah. Though I don't forsee it getting as bad as the 3H shipping discourse cuz man I still see people giving others the side eye for Dimidue ugh

Not sure if still open but.. May I request a Chrom x Robin where (a year before Lucina was born) the Shepherd finds an abandoned infant in the wagon after fighting off bandits. They go on a quest to find the infant's parents as well as taking turns caring for the infant.
The asks are always open! My response may just be a bit slow, I’ve got finals coming up next month. Cause we all love school, don’t we? Either way, this was fun to write. Didn’t know there could be so many ways to write the word baby. ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ

Hearing an infant’s cries, was more or less a surprise for the travelling Shepherds after defeating the bandits. Maribelle was the sweet soul that had found the poor baby, wrapped up warmly in blankets in a basket just big enough. The poor child was screaming their tiny little lungs out the best they could.
“We should try and find their parents.” Lissa said, pinky finger now in the tight grasp of the infant.
“That’s a good idea, Lissa.” Cordelia spoke up. Several of the Shepherds had agreed but everyone could the feel the shadow that was Frederick.
“As good idea as it is, we don’t know where they could have gone. For all we know, they could have done this on purpose.” Frederick spoke, tone firm. Maribelle glared at the knight, ready to counter the man.
“I don’t think so.” Robin spoke up, coming towards the crowded group. A basket of fruits in hand. “They’re traveling merchants with a baby on board, I highly doubt they would abandon their own child along with the goods.”
“I agree with Robin.” Chrom said, placing a hand on her shoulder. Smiling warmly towards her. “The merchants had intentions of coming back, we were able to see where they were able to hide some more valuable goods among the caravans.”
“I see, my apologies Milord.” Frederick bowed. Chrom only waved him off, smile straining just a bit.
“Don’t worry about it, Frederick, but you are right in the fact we don’t know where they went.” Chrom said. “We don’t know which direction they scurried off either…”
“Oh, Cordelia and I can take the pegasi and check if any towns are nearby!” Sumia called. Robin smiled.
“It’s a good start, you two can head out. We’ll figure something out will you two are out.” Robin said. The two Pegasus knights quickly leaving and heading out. While everyone down below started to get the hunt for the infant’s parents ready. Ideas were shared among the Shepherds, however there was still the pressing issue of getting to Regna Ferox. The little bundle of joy wouldn’t be able to survive long either without their mother, never mind the cold weather. After roughly an hour of tossing ideas around, the pegasi knights had returned.
Cordelia and Sumia approached them with good news. There was a town north-east, a few days of traveling but worth the detour. And so, things were settled as they made course for the town, babe in their arms.
However, Chrom couldn’t keep his eyes off the small baby in his sister’s arms. Cradling the gentle babe with Maribelle cooing softly. It had brought memories of when he was younger, even though Lissa wasn’t too much younger than him, she was still so small. The mess, the laughter, the quiet moments when they were together. He hummed to himself when the two young women were able to get the baby to laugh, bringing many smiles to various Shepherds.
“Adorable, aren’t they?” Robin spoke up. Chrom let the smile rise on his lips, shifting his gaze towards his wife. Her own eyes were on Lissa and Maribelle, who was now being joined by Sumia and Nowi.
“Of course.” Chrom said, just taking a little step towards her, weaving his hand with hers. “I believe Lissa would make a good mother.”
“Oh, don’t let her hear you.” Robin teased. The two share a laugh, before enjoying the rest of the walk towards the town.

Seeing Cordelia handle the babe was as if she perfected the art of being a nursemaid. Gregor helped Lon’qu when dinner had come around, laughing louder when the babe had thrown up over his tunic. Panne took care of the child all throughout the night, keeping them warm and quiet all throughout the night. The next morning, Frederick kept the baby busy as he went about his daily routine without too much difficulty. Ricken, Donnel and Stahl all tried to keep the babe from crying after Gauis had tangled with the baby, (he was trying for the candy). Even though he got scolded, his comment was that taking from the child wasn’t as easy as people thought.
Kellam had taken the infant for the afternoon, much to everyone’s surprise. Although, they were grateful as they heard nothing from the infant till dinner. He was a natural lullaby for the infant. Miriel and Libra were the ones to take care of dinner, having a much easier time than Lon’qu and Gregor the night before. Sumia took the babe into her tent that night, although she didn’t manage to get enough rest that night.
The morning that followed Olivia took gentle care of the infant. Humming softly, swaying gently as they seemed to fall asleep, only to reawaken in time for lunch. Virion was the one to help this time, although someone would have to fetch him a new necktie once everything was over. Vaike was next, and he was good for better part of the afternoon, but Sully quickly swept in after Vaike had tried to get the babe to hold a sharp object. Sully was gentle, much to the surprise of others whom had seen her. A gentle smile instead of a hard scowl, a pleasing and calm atmosphere surrounded her and the infant. Dinner was a bit of a shock, Tharja had no problem feeding them. A quiet way of doing things but she was able to get the infant to eat dinner without a fuss. Robin was sure that Tharja was reluctant to hand the baby over to her when she said, she’d take them for the night.
Robin held them in her arms. A little yawn leaving their lips, big round tired eyes staring at her. Robin let out a giggle as the baby reached for a strand of her white hair.
“Don’t see that often, now do you?” She whispered gently, making her way towards her shared tent with Chrom.
She entered the tent with ease, seeing Chrom just finish changing into his night clothes. Indigo blues eyes warming upon the sight. Sweet words were exchanged between the lovers as they exchanged the babe who was falling asleep quickly. With Chrom now having the sweet child in his arms. It was a bit awkward at first, holding the child in the cradled position, but Chrom had quickly settled into the feeling. Thoughts of having his own child filling his own mind. It would be an amazing experience, teaching the babe to walk, learning their first word and reading those bed time stories as they fight to stay awake. He heard his wife giggle behind him.
“Come now, Love. You’ve got this motherly look on your face.” Robin said, carefully pulling him back towards the cot.
Robin helped Chrom into bed with the wandering child in is arms, and once he was settled, she rose to extinguish the candle that was burning. She cautiously settled in, opposite of Chrom, the child in between them. The two of them couldn’t help but stare at the added figure in their shared bed. Such a small body that had been brought into this world with love.
“Chrom?” Robin whispered. Eyes still watching the small infant. Chrom hummed, sleep was starting to welcome him. “What do you think of a family of our own? Our little child running through the castle hallway. Little feet against the floor as they run up to show us something.” Her hand came up, pulling the child ever so close. “A sweet babe of our own.”
“And here I thought asking for a child was rude for it still not even being a year.” Chrom mumbled, smile on his lips. “Although, I’m not opposed to it. A little child of our own, to care for, to love…” Robin hummed in agreement. Their hands locked together, sleep all catching up to them.
The rising sun had quickly rose, waking the Shepherds bit by bit. Robin kept the infant close to her the entire morning. Her own tasks being as simple as marking down what they still had left. When camp had been wrapped up and everyone was ready, they set out for the town again, this time having it in sight. They had arrived in town just before noon, making sure to ask around as soon as they hit the market.
Robin shifted the babe in her arms, turning away from another merchant who couldn’t help her. Chrom by her side, sighing heavily. He didn’t think it would be this hard, who wouldn’t be missing their child by now. There was the slight fear that perhaps they missed the parents on their way back towards their valuables, or perhaps the parents truly had plans to abandon the child. His heart hurt thinking about the latter. He hoped that it wouldn’t be the case for the babe.
“Excuse me! Oh, sorry. Ma’am, Sir, please wait!” A lady called out after them. Fighting her way through the crowd with a man trying his hardest to keep up with her. Robin and Chrom turn to face the couple as they stop in front of them. “Please! Are you the ones asking about…?” She had trailed off, panting heavily. Robin and Chrom exchange a look.
“Yes, were asking if a merchant couple had come here asking for help.” Chrom said, watching the couple in front of them.
“Yes! We were attacked by bandits and escaped with our lives while hiding our babe. It was a mistake to even leave her there in the first place! We should’ve taken her with us.” The lady had looked like she would collapse from how desperate she was.
“Please, Madam, Sir, believe me and my wife. Once we heard that a group in town had come into town asking about the parents of a child… We came as soon as we could.” The man came up, placing a gentle hand on his wife’s shoulder. Robin gave a small smile.
“Then it would be a crime to not return your child to you.” Robin said, handing the child over into the woman’s arms. The mother had tears coming down her cheeks when she had locked eyes with her daughter. The father couldn’t stop his own as they awed over their daughter whom had the brightest smile they saw since they had taken her in.
“Thank you…! We cannot thank you enough.” The father said. Chrom only shook his head.
“Seeing your child home and safe is enough. Your gratitude is enough as well.” Chrom said. The couple had nodded, thanking them once more before they left. Their child back in their care, safe from the dangers of the world.
The scene had warmed their hearts, happy and immensely grateful that they had the chance to reunite a family. It had only strengthened their resolve of starting a family of their own. A family teaching and guiding one another as they all grew together. It was an experience that they would be proud to have in their lives.

awakening luna planning
chrom/sumia obvs im not an idiot. usual inheritance goes (galeforce from sumia, aether from chrom). this run i had lucy go through sage and that wasnt great but it wasnt terrible either. ds+ and tomefaire gave it way more oomph than lucys raw magic would suggest. what else could lucy do if i want to give her a beast mode... hmm. i want to keep her in a sword class if i can. bow knight i guess after she finishes great lord
