Quick little warm up sketch I did of some sleepy siblings who just woke up instead of working on art for school because I wasn’t warmed up enough to work on stuff-

It is done!!
Tumblr media
Now for the random lore for these two.
• Qingling actually wears her leotard and robe more often than she does anything else because it keeps her from ruining clothes since only her leotard actually stays on her body whenever she transforms.
• The clothes were actually the first ones she ever bought (using Mk's money since she doesn't have any).
• Qingling has no real sense of fashion; she just puts on what she thinks is cool.
• Qingling is not afraid to wear things that show off her curves or chub because she'll fight anyone who has a problem with it.
• Qingling has heard someone make a comment about how "she must be blind if that's the outfit she's wearing" even though she's not actually blind (her eyes are just naturally like that) and has nearly fought that person because no one should be put down for expressing themselves through their clothes.
• Bao usually is wearing a glamour to hide her ears and tail, but not whenever she's with the group.
• Bao sort of works at Pigsy's Noodles, but isn't an official worker because she just helps whenever she is needed.
• Bao tends to watch Wukong and Mihou from a distance (mostly Wukong) because she doesn't know if it would be appropriate to be friends with either one of them.
• Bao has inspired a character that Wukong has made for one of his games because he saw her talking with Mk and just couldn't get her out of his mind.
• Bao and Wukong have not actually been introduced or talked to each other. However Bao and Mihou have because of working at Pigsy's Noodles.
• Bao still acts as a mentor for Mk.
• Bao never got the chance to see Monkey King before his death which meant she never got to tell him about her feelings for him.
• If Bao and Wukong were to meet properly it would be very awkward.
• Wukong does have a bit of a crush on Bao, but doesn't think too much of it because they haven't actually met.
Uh... I think that's all. Feel free to ask questions about them or anything else about the au. Or any of my other ocs and aus. I'm always down to answer any questions about any of my ocs and aus.

It frustrates me whenever I find a certain book or series and I don't have anyone to share sentiments and feelings about it. This is why I love Tumblr, this is the best place to talk about such things. People here can post a 3000-word review for a 30-second scene from a film/drama. The analyzations, theories, and conclusions are all worth a read too. Tumblr makes me understand ther characters better, makes me love the characters more. It opens my eyes to parallels and hidden messages. Tumblr is the GOAT

Round 2 with LHK and bxg interactions. If you need catching up, I initially talked about it here. Again, i’m not promoting asking their co stars for clues about szd. This is for archiving purpose only. I understand that most (if not all) of them have only known LHK because of Untamed and continue to have a good impression of him due to that & his friendly relationship with the boys. So they couldn’t stop the association.
On his video where he wore blue, someone commented that if bjyx is still there, if he can wear a watch on his left wrist. and well, he does it. another coincidence. ✨

another one asking do you remember this photo with the 3 of them in the waiting room. he doesn’t say anything controversial in this, just described what was going on. basically saying he and wyb were playing two different games and zz was over there picking his nails. if any, i guess people who ask this are in nostalgia mode and hoped that maybe LHK will give a new perspective on certain moments.

an example of that untamed centric question below:
Second brother, I really like Chen Qingling, what should I do if I can’t get out of the trap?
When your legs feel numb, just stamp your feet and keep squatting!

Targaryen Kings Statues Concept Art Released by Qingling Zhang
I don’t have the time to do a proper “art in HotD” writeup for these but I just wanted to add them to the posts because I’m absolutely thrilled to see the Great Hall so well lit and with this level of detail. I hope that in the next seasons this amazing set gets the attention it deserves because the craftsmanship and attention to detail that has been poured into it deserves to be highlighted -- I’m not going to lie, the statues looked a lot more nondescript in the show, enough that I assumed they were meant to be generic pre-Conquest ancestors, while in fact they are THEE Targ kings from Aegon I to Jaehaerys (so actually covering the dynasty up until very recent times), each with his own defining characteristics. Some stray observations:
I especially love how Maegor has been designed as a hooded, faceless figure, a way to acknowledge his place in the dynasty (although he’s the only one who doesn’t display the Targaryen sigil) but also erase his features because of his infamy, and a blatant callback to the iconography of the Stranger
Will the addition of other kings be featured in future episodes? in F&B, Aegon II commissions colossal statues of Aemond and Daeron to be built in King’s Landing, and this might be a way to integrate that tidbit from the book into the show.
These well lit bts shots show a pretty nice glimpse of the lower part of the columns, though to be honest I’m still a bit at loss on what *exactly* they represent besides “battle scenes with dragons”. The only impression I get is that they look kind of samey, so they probably all represent the same event, or series of events, regardless of the king covering the upper half of the column.
The wedding table also seems to be decorated with a bas relief roughly in the same style as the columns, depicting a chariot race (it’s hard to make out the detail but I doubt it’s a battle as a martial theme doesn’t feel fitting for a wedding, especially not one arranged by decidedly nonmartial Viserys)
(more art in hotd) - (more art in westeros)

I’m a sucker for wholesome moments between parent and child, and I think Pif would enjoy just brushing Qinglings hair while she rambles about her new friend that she may or may not be kinda crushing on-

I remembered my favourite set decoration from HOTD existed, so now i gotta talk about it. The statues of the first four kings of the Targaryen Dynasty by Qingling Zhang
Tumblr media
So, in the great hall during Rhaenyra's wedding feast we can see this four big columns decorated and made to look like the 4 Targaryen kings before Viserys. We can see Aegon, Aerys and Jaehaerys, but i don't care enough about them and what their columns represent about them. So i am just going to talk about Maegor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think it is one of those perfect examples of trying to tell a story with the surroundings of one place. We can see Maegor being the only statue with the head covered with a cloak, different from the other statues that are totally uncovered with a proud stance. The cloak covers almost all of Maegor's face, making him a faceless figure, and at the same time, like if the statue itself was ashamed of what Maegor did. A King whose deeds hurted the realm and filled it with fire and chaos, the same who killed his family and insulted the gods should be ashamed of what he did, specially when he sweared to the gods that he was going to protect it! A King who only bringed pain and death, and who is the one "deity" that is represented to be close to the death? The stranger, the stranger who in almost all its represations in canon is covered from head to toe with a heavy cloack. In this way, the Targaryens of the show version conceive Maegor as a shameful period of time during their dynasty, this statement also proved because he is the only Targaryen who has not any visible Targaryen sigils in his statue. Aegon has it on his shield and Aenys and Jaehaerys on their chests, but Maegor has none. Yet, at the same time, the presence of the statue itself disonates so much from this statement. Why, if the Targaryens where so ashamed of Maegor, put a statue of him in not just the red keep, but the great hall, where all the kings sit? Well, i personally think this is because they still conceive it that he deed something important for just the Targaryens: to solidify their Dynasty. Perhaps it was no good for the realm in general, but he did cemented their superiority over Westeros.

AU idea we brainstormed with @runespoor7 and vermillon (not on tumblr) that ends with zhanchengxian and xiyao. Still a work in progress because some of us didn't like some of the turns towards the end but so far we've got:
Meng Yao joins Yunmeng Jiang as a teenager, and becomes the Seventh Shidi of Yunmeng Jiang.
He gets along well with both Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng.
He survives the slaughter of Lotus Pier by promptly joining with the Wen sect, and helps Wen Ning and Wei Wuxian rescue Jiang Cheng. He starts spying among the Wen for the Jang Sect very early this way.
Lan Xichen, without Meng Yao to help him, loses his Golden Core and spends the war in captivity among the Wen. He meets Meng Yao during this time and they bond to some extent.
After the war, Meng Yao becomes Jin Guangyao and swears Brotherhood with Jiang Cheng (in order to keep an eye on Wei Wuxian) and Lan Wangji (the current Lan sect leader who illustrated himself during the war who also wants to keep an eye on Wei Wuxian). The Nie sect is isolated.
Jin Guangyao mediates between Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji in order to get the Tiger Seal more easily; and they both team up to be more active to “help” Wei Wuxian (who takes it as a betrayal). Wei Wuxian flees to the Nie, to complain to Nie Huaisang.
Jin Guangyao figures out about the Golden Core transfer because he has access to a lot of the clues. He decides to use this information to help out Wen Qing and Wen Ning in exchange for their cooperation to help Lan Xichen. Lan Xichen believes it’s a medical  treatment developed by the Wen. Wen Qing is publicly redeemed for her role in healing Lan Xichen but under the cover of the Jin sect who grabs all the merit for it..
When Lan Wangji tells Jiang Cheng about the miraculous healing of his brother, Jiang Cheng figures out that Wen Qing was involved in his Golden Core restoration but not necessarily that Wei Wuxian sacrificed his own. He goes to talk to Wen Qing, who admits the truth to Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng has a nervous breakdown. Lan Wangji followed him but missed the reveal. They confront Wei Wuxian and that’s when Lan Wangji understands what happened. Tears and ship zhanchengxian happen.
After he threatens Wen Ning one time too many, Wen Qingl kills Jin Guangshan with the help of Xue Yang who realized he has a lot to learn from him.
Jin Guangyao and Lan Xichen are in love as long as Lan Xichen doesn’t think too hard about where his core comes from.
Happy ending!
