11 for the pride ask
11 - Favorite piece of LGBT+ media?
Steven Universe. Full stop. Why?
Simple.
It was one of the first positive, open depictions of queer and LGBT+ people in media I had seen in a long time. The songs were amazing, the animation gorgeous, the voice acting a godsend, and the themes of hope, healing from trauma and trying to help instead of hurt mixed with the love the characters exuded...
It made me hella mad to discover "SU Critical" blogs. It got under my skin that a very good, positive show that was one of the best cartoons in years was getting slammed left and right.
Did I think it was perfect? No. Nothing is. But for everything else that followed: SPOP, Harley Quinn, The Owl House, etc. Steven Universe at the very least lay some of the groundwork. And that's beautiful.

15. Do any of your ocs use neopronouns? Which ones?
Thanks for the ask! You can find the Pride Themed Asks here.
There currently aren't any major characters in my WIP that use neopronouns, but seeing as this is the first draft, that could change.
For the most part, my characters use he/him, she/her, they/them and any combination.
Again, though, this could change! Maybe in a draft in the future, I feel that a set of neopronouns would fit one character more or I add a character with neopronouns. Who knows!
I love neopronouns, though, they're so pretty ((hence why I use them ehehhehe))

7, 8, and 14 for the pride asks :)
Hi there! :)
7. Are you the "token" queer person in your family?
As far as I'm aware yes, at least I'm the only one who's out and a lot of relatives have made it clear they perceive me as the odd one out, but then again I only know a fraction of my family so I really can't say
8. Describe your gender without using any words traditionally related to gender:
"Error 404: Not Found"
14. How do you think other factors like neurodivergency or upbringing have impacted your identity?
(This one ran long, sorry! And thank you for asking it, it was very fun to answer!)
My parents are ND too, no matter how much they're in denial over it half the time, and I think it showed in the way they raised me with hardly a thought for gender stereotypes until puberty hit and my dad got all overprotective about it. I think they also don't understand gender as well as they think, because what they say doesn't match up with what they do. Especially as far as gender roles go, you can see it's a learned thing and not quite something they understand because it's absolutely not consistent across the board, and that really bled over onto the way they raised me. You can probably imagine how confused I was when other people, particularly at school, started expecting me to conform to certain ideas in regards to my behavior and tastes.
It definitely took a long while for my autistic ass to even get it lmao and I think both of these things play a huge part in the way I understand gender as a concept only in relation to other people and the way they identify and define themselves. Encountering the word "agender" was even more a revelation than "non-binary" was, and honestly such a relief. Same for asexual and aromantic. As much as I am a big language nerd overall and love to read, defining myself in single word labels was a big struggle for a while, and had the same flavor as struggling with finding the right words to express myself and my emotions in my daily life, which is one of the things that first made me relate with posts about autism. Figuring out I'm autistic helped me understand my identity and how I function the same way figuring out my gender identity and orientation did, and it's all something I'd never have bothered to do if I hadn't felt the need to find people I belonged with when many pushed me away or questioned who I was. Hell, I never thought of questioning my orientation until my friends in high school talked about being straight/gay/bi (the only three labels they knew) and asked me my preferences. My immediate response was a confused "I can't just... Idk, like people??" in part because growing up in very tiny countryside villages, I wasn't really exposed to queerness as a concept for a while, and what thoughts I may have had on the subject were filed under "marked for later", and in part because when the question came up I only had some vague thought that maybe gender had nothing to do with liking someone or not.
Same goes for being aspec and poly, my flavor of neurodivergency comes with being somewhat confused about people and feelings and emotions most of the time, and it took a long while for me to have some idea of what I felt and wanted. But getting there came along with meeting some truly lovely folks, and spending hours talking about it together and finding out we had so much in common.
In conclusion, I'd say my neurodivergency absolutely plays a part in the way I perceive and understand things, including every queer label I identify with, but really all of the above is interconnected in a way that feels very much like the chicken and egg question. And my upbringing at least let me grow up in a space where, more often than not (at least when puberty wasn't getting in the way of my parents' behavior towards me), I didn't feel like I had to think about gender, and I believe that helped me be comfortable with that the way I am now, as an adult.

For the Pride ask 17 and 27?
Are you religious?
Nooooo. I was raised Catholic though until secondary school. Then my parents and the school stopped giving a fuck and giving us Catholic classes lmao.
Some LGBT+ pairings you ship?
All of them? Like do they have to be canon queer or not? Cause no one in hetalia isn't really canon queer? Lol idk

Conspiracy theory : Vreenak wasn't killed by Garak. It was a changeling who took his place. Vreenak was a prisonner of the Dominion and managed to escape. Though, he was utterly piss off that someone dared to kill the changeling who took his place and made the same choice he would have done. So he decided to solve his own murder because he was the target not his stupid changeling. And then he declared war on the Federation.
i would kill to see/read this. Romulan murder mystery also set in the Dominion war, sign me up

So, I know you did Pride Prompts last year - and you tend to have a lot of LGBTQ stuff on your blog anyway, which means the world 🌈 but I'm curious about what your fav characters ??? I always find it interesting to see what people grew up on / found their identity with
OOOh! First of all, thank you! I'm glad you enjoy the mad content on this dumpster fire of a blog 😉 I hope y'all are having a great Pride month. Secondly, this is such a fun question!
I'm gonna pick the LGBTQ characters / couples that meant the most / impacted me most growing up - if that's ok. Some were canon off screen and some were just the first examples I ever got to see on tv, which allowed me to realise being Bi was a thing and that I wasn't straight.
Tara x Willow (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)
Korra x Asami (Legend of Korra)
Santana x Brittany (Glee)
Magnus x Alex (The Mortal Instruments)
Captain Jack (Doctor Who)
✨ Honorary mention goes to Keira Knightley (as Elizabeth Swann) for making me realise I liked girls too... 😉

🫐 - Are there ways you wish you could present yourself differently, but can’t?
apparently I don't have that emoji ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Kinda? So I don't really want to present differently, but I'd loved to be perceived differently.
I really want more than anything to give off the vibe of some cheeky old man with a super long beard and the world's oldest hat who drives an old pickup truck with his dog and wanders around the woods. Just really hippie and laid back and full of love. Hell, I'd even take a younger laid back hippie dude.
But because I'm a cis(ish) woman I am never seen as just that laid back dude you could get an ice cream with and pour your heart out to only for him to pull out some wack ass one liner. If I'm quiet it's shy or cold, if I'm laid back it's careless or incapable, if I'm hippiesh and carefree I'm an SJW, if I wear slouchy clothes I'm a slob.
Women just can't exist without making a statement and it's frustrating af. Just let me be some old weird bearded guy but as a lady.

20, 25, 29 for the pride asks? 🏳️‍🌈
Hi! :)
20) Do you feel like you "fit in" with the queer/Pride community overall?
I don't know that I'd say I "fit in" specifically, but overall I feel comfortable around in queer spaces and around other queer folk. I recently started volunteering in a local queer association too, and I've been meeting some very cool folks there. But what I would say, for sure, is that there are definitely issues with accessibility way too often.
25) What queer discourse frustrates you the most?
I'm rarely up to date on discourse, but one thing that's come up a lot over the years is whether aspec people belong in the community. I hate seeing folks pile up on others to tell them they're not "oppressed enough".
29) Are you currently partnered, or if not are you interested in having partner(s)?
I am, I have two partners. I'm not exactly actively seeking more, but not closed to the idea either. I tend to just go with the flow when I meet people I get interested in. :)
