Kokkinopilos hills, Preveza, Hellas photo by @dimitris_patsis

The appearance of the Kokkinopilos hills (lit. "red clay" hills) is an unusual geological and natural phenomenon. The rains turned this low terra rossa (iron oxides with clay) plateau into an alternating landscape of hills and small ravines.

It's a red spot amidst the greenery and the light brown soil of the area. Important findings from the Paleolithic and Bronze Age were found near Kokkinopilos.
