Another plume moth! This is one of the prettiest species of them in my opinion, the very creatively named "white plume moth". it looks so silky and feathery!!

It is officially BUG SEASON! in Chicagoland! @crevicedwelling , @onenicebugperday. I am delighted 🥰
I found a lovely Two-Spotted Stink Bug today!…
An adorable plume moth!…
… And this butterfly that I’d like a bit of help ID’ing. They’re doing courtship flights right now.
I love Bug Season 🐛🐜🐞 Some of my favorites are “stinkie bugs.” They are all named Jerri/Gerry.

jade! i dont follow many bug blogs yet, but ive found the strangest little guy in my house with no idea what they are. i figured you might be the best person to ask (if you dont mind!)
my partner and i were thinking he might be some sort of stick but, but arent sure. size wise, theyd sit nicely on top of a quarter.
they can also fly
Oh! This looks like a kind of plume moth to me! Amazingly strange little guys, which I've also encountered before (the one in the linked post is pure white but they can be closer to brown as well!)

Stangeia xerodes is a moth from a family we classify as plume moths :) Plume moths are all of the T shaped moths, some of them are surprisingly pretty! (most are pretty boring lol)
I posted one before, here's another one! They mainly live in south east asia and australia, though you can find similar plume moths pretty much anywhere

@andtheirlovewasrenewed submitted: Saw a plume moth for the first time last night!! If possible, could I get an id? Location is [removed] (please remove). Hope you’re well!
I am well, thank you! Looks like a plume moth in the genus Hellinsia, but I couldn’t narrow it down to a species :)
