evil laughter 💭 🍳 💒 🔊
i now realize that looks more threatening with the qiao ling pfp. i apologize in advance. have an evil night <3
If this wasn't an ask game I'd totally be scared like. What do these emojis mean. Am I gonna die 😭 Anyways ty sol <33
💭: You like to daydream about the two of you to
There are so many daydreams. It comes randomly. But yesterday I was rewatching Tangled AND IT'S SO UNORIGINAL BUT I WAS SO. LISTEN IT'S SO PRETTY AND EUGENE'S VOIC— *gets dragged away*
(Also I get reminded of this memory of my friend saying "who do you imagine it with bc you can't tell me you don't do that" or something along those lines so now. I always do that. And WTH I SEE THE LIGHT JUST CAME ON. WHAT KIND OF SORCERY IS THIS. I'M JUST PLAYING MY 1.9K LIKED SONGS ON SHUFFLE????)
🍳: You could imagine cooking with them to
I just chose these because they have sunshine-y, cute, and cheerful vibes! They're both also kind of about that ✨domestic life vibes✨ (that's more of stay stay stay tho)
💒: You would play at your wedding
Now why would you (and lina) pick the hardest one. But, it definitely needs to be an instrumental, even better if it's piano, and I actually know the perfect arrangement (even if it incorporates the most overused piece ever)
BUT. I WAY prefer this arrangement, even if it doesn't really fit them. It's too good not to be played (the piano guys are really really good)
🔊: Make a playlist between 2-8 songs long for your self ship
*rubs hands together* Time to pull up The Playlist (also didn't you make a playlist for me before KSMDKFSM)
It's a duet. It's piano. That's literally all I want in life
The instrumentals my beloved <3 And I think this is the ship but from her perspective. Like, it's Her Song
IT'S LITERALLY THEM ???? I've never seen a song match more than this one. Who are Evan and Zoe
THIS COVER IS SO BEAUTIFUL. IT'S SO SOFT AND AKSMFNFMS I love it sm. Just a guitar as the instrumental? Absolutely genius.
I just need to add this because 1) instrumentals 2) Enchanted my most belovedest ever 3) The song is gorgeous I'll never not love it
Gorgeous by Taylor Swift
Audio limit smh. Anyways. “Ocean blue eyes looking in mine, I feel like I might sink and drown and die”
What You Mean To Me from Finding Neverland
Absolutely gorgeous song. The harmonizing is AMAZING
Mabagal by Daniel Padilla and Moira Dela Torre
This is basically, like, the Filipino Sway but it's slower and softer? I absolutely adore it <3

I think I may have just found the most Saimatsu song in the universe. It's a piano cover of Nat King Cole's "When I Fall In Love" blended with "Clair De Lune," and I am quite literally in tears. 😭💕
"When I fall in love it will be forever Or I'll never fall in love"
"When I give my heart it will be completely Or I'll never give my heart"

Songs of 2019
October 7, 2019
Lover (Wedding Version) covered by Paul Hankinson
Tumblr media
Alright, a Disney-Princess version of this song was not something I knew I needed in my life, but here we are and: I did, in fact, need it.
It takes a song that I absolutely adore and showers it in pink and sparkles and golden sunsets. It sounds like cotton clouds and endless blue skies and everything you would need for a truly incredible and romantic wedding version of this song. It grasps the tiny, fairy-tale-believing people within us by the hand and takes them soaring over the rainbow on a Pegasus.
It is actually just so cute and adorable. It is perfection and I can't get enough of it. If I was getting married any time soon, I would probably include this song on my playlist. It's just too good to pass up.

I have always wanted canon as my wedding song but could never find the perfect version that I love. This combo might have made it to the top of the list.
I need to get the music sheet and learn it now!

Doctor Who Convention: Bedford Who Charity Con 6 Raises an Astonishing £6643
#DoctorWho Convention: Bedford Who Charity Con 6 Raises an Astonishing £6643 (@BedfordWho)
We had to postpone it three times, it was 18 months later than originally scheduled, and 2½ years since the last one, but Bedford Who Charity Con 6 finally went ahead last Saturday (16th October). The pandemic meant masks were on, hand sanitiser was available in bucketloads – and yet a good time still seemed to be had by all. It’s a bit difficult to write this piece, since I’m the organiser and,…

Songwriting Competition Winners Announced
To quote Guest Judge Paul Hankinson, “competition in music is a strange thing”. The reason for this, of course, is that music is subjective—each person has unique musical tastes. But what we also know is that a song with meaningful lyrics, or a melody that gets stuck in your head, surely stands out amongst the rest. Today, Paul shares which Songwriting entries left him with a lasting impression.
BEST PERFORMANCE “Safety Pins” by Annelies Stealey
youtube
Over the past few days I have listened to the entries in this category at various times; I was curious to see which ones would stay with me—which ones would get stuck in my head or haunt my heart. Sometimes I listened in the morning upon waking, sometimes in the afternoon between rehearsals, and sometimes at night. Songs are like toast…they somehow taste different at night. ☺
This is a night song. And this is a beautiful song—a masterfully crafted song. Annelies has made many a tender and delicate decision in the writing process and her performance of the song is equally masterful—walking the tightrope between beauty and pain, tenderness and strength.
We have an immediate emotional response to the twist of the first line “I hope you don’t mind hopeful lies” and then by the end of the second line, “And a no-good drive around town at night” our mind is painting the picture of a city at night. The piano is providing the motion of driving—the gentle dissonances enhancing the conflict between “hopeful” and “no-good”. Within the opening two lines of the song, Annelies has managed to engage our hearts and empathy, inspire our mind to paint pictures and then given those pictures motion using the piano. The way the right hand of the piano opens up and literally paints the city lights in the Chorus is just such wonderful writing. A magical moment. Vivid and inspired.
I also loved how the present-tense naïvety of the last line of the first verse, “Steal and hope we aren’t so blind” gives way to the reflection and regret of “Give and wish we weren’t so blind” in the second verse (and on the second no-good drive). Something has happened in the time in between. We don’t know what it is but in this simple change of lyrics we feel it all.
Annelies delivers such a pure and honest performance—it’s all about the delivery of the song—there is such an integrity and a raw truthfulness that it would be easy not to notice what a skillful performance this actually is. But that is exactly WHY it’s so good! Annelies is a GREAT singer and pianist but the ego-less way she immediately draws us in to the emotional essence of the song doesn’t give us the chance to be superficially impressed by her skills. They are simply the tools she uses to tell her story.
In this day of pressing buttons and spinning chairs and squealing outrageously when someone hits a high note, the integrity of this song and this performance gives me hope for the future of songs and songwriting.
This is obviously a very personal song but at the same time manages to remain open and relatable.  It gives the listener space to project; to go on our own night drive in the city of our own memory or imagination. The “Safety Pins” of the title may just be those little things (some in plain view and some concealed) which are holding us all together.
BEST LYRICS “He Holds the Sun” by RC77
This was a difficult decision! There were such wonderful, original, creative, poetic moments in every entry. The love of the power of words burns strong in each of you and the future of writing looks bright!
It’s quite fascinating to read lyrics; not just as one would approach a poem, but imagining what the music might be. Ultimately this is what made my decision for me—could I feel the music around and underneath these words?
“He Holds the Sun” captures perfectly the epic nature of this myth. There is a ‘larger than life’ quality to the imagery which beautifully supports the fact that our protagonist is Kuafu the giant. The opening scene is wonderfully ominous. The sun is “blazing”, the graves are “bleached” and “pockmarked”, the skin is “cracked”, the villages are “silhouettes”, even the boats in the harbor appear to defiantly “rock their hulls against the tide” rather than move with it. It’s wonderful foreshadowing.
The opening lines of the Chorus are so powerful: “Can you taste the Sun upon your tongue?
The grip of your want tears down the night”—great writing which invites great music!
Later the tender sorrow of the “whispered name… through restless trees” provides a beautiful contrast to the power of what came before (such as the “desire” which comes “bearing teeth”) and also manages to age the story so simply and effectively—we feel the thousands of years which may have passed, we sense the legendary nature of the story once more.
I hope to one day soon be able to hear the finished version of this song—it may require a full orchestra to do justice to the power of the lyrics! ☺
BEST PEER REVIEW Jacob Barrett’s review of “Young Like That” by ChloeAdele
Rather than assess the song from the outside, I really got the feeling that Jacob attempted to access and understand the very essence of the song; the seed of an idea or feeling from which it grew. This enabled him to empathise not only with the story and message of the song itself but also with the creative process of the writer.
Even when Jacob makes the suggestion that a more drastic Bridge section may provide an effective counterpoint to the beauty of the rest of the song he does so in an ideal way. Rather than say “I think it should be this way” or “I would do it this way” he says “I have attempted to understand the essence of what you have created and what you’re attempting to say and perhaps you could try this as a way to enhance your message or throw a different light on it for a moment”—he is thinking only about what the song needs, what is right for the song, and not judging the writer.
