ironically i’ve just realised that all my “newfound” inspiration and motivation for projects and creative endeavours did not magically show up out of nowhere, it’s a direct result of having graduated and being able to enjoy a break without academic pressure. seems like i really shouldn’t have beat myself up for not having had everything figured out at like age 17 huh

#like damn maybe i wasnt the problem #maybe it’s not like there is anything fundamentally wrong with me #i apparently was just rlly bad at coping in that environment (esp. w covid and two diplomas)#anyways go be creative ppl #and dont expect urself to be the lerfect person at any age whatsoever #perfect’s a scam #reflection #realisation #one might even call it #a #revelation #✨

So I really like books that are meandering and not heavy on plot all the time. Just constantly creating ✨ atmosphere ✨ and letting you live in and explore the world with little dashes of plot thrown in on occasion so things aren't totally stagnant. But they take their time and revel in the world and let you be enchanted and don't just immediately move on from that feeling but let you get comfortable with it and settle into the book a bit further. Anyway, more of this please.

#i know plot-heavy books are easy to get into #and i tend to go for them so clearly no shame #but bro i fucking love some good wolrdbuilding!#anyway reading the night circus now and it's not a lerfect book #Marco's really quite annoying #but god it does this wonderfully #i get that it might be a bit much for some people but i am enjoying it #really this post is about how east by edith pattou is a perfect book #because it meanders and enchants perfectly #while still having lots of plot! perfect balance i love it #i also need a tapestry loom and room to store it #mine #books #a fair bit of discworld also does this #or just by the nature of having so many books you end up having spent a lot of time on the worldbuilding #but it's pretty average per book?#except ones that take a while to kick off like i shall wesr midnight #but that's one of my favourites so hey no complaints!#or it's shenanigans for 4/5 of the book and they culminate into a climax somehow #like jingo or something #i know guards guards has a plot and mystery etc but it kinda does follow this i think
