Yandere Hualian x reader.
Warning: In the fem reader's first life, she was the younger sister of General Pei Ming. She lived as a beautiful young woman loved by her brother, without caring that he was a womanizer. Then, according to Pei Ming's ascension story, when he was accused of treason and broke his sword. However, the reader remained in the mortal realm and was unjustly executed. After 800 years she is reincarnated again, but as a humble traveler, there she meets Xie Lian and Huan cheng (you decide how) after many adventures together. He then reunites with his brother, although at first he does not remember him, although Pei Ming insists that he was once his brother. Little by little she will remember her past life. In the end he has a relationship with Huan cheng and Xie lian, and when he remembers his previous life, he sadly dies, but some time later he is reincarnated again.
(I based this request on some Chinese dramas, thank you for accepting it.)
Oooh interesting, also my first heaven officials blessing/tgcf request yay!
Warning: noob author, female reader, yandere characters, and others.
Characters: hualian (hua cheng and xie lian).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were the little sister to pei Ming, you didn’t mind his womanizing ways but you always scold him to be careful as one of those woman he woo’s could seek revenge when he breaks her heart. Though not many gods knew about you as you had died a little after your brother ascended to godhood, falsely accused and executed over a misunderstanding along with how you were the little sister to pei Ming so they thought you had a part in the rebellion even though you were innocent, your brother couldn’t save you as he had only learned after your death that you were in trouble and it was already too late to save you.
Pei Ming has hope that you might reincarnated or turned into a ghost and he just couldn’t find you good enough. He has searched high and low for you, and when he gets frustrated he usually woo women’s hearts and release his frustration by having sex with them and leaving afterwards to continue searching for you after the stress and frustration is out of his body.
Pei Ming was right to think you reincarnated though it was only after 800 years had you finally reincarnated this time as a young female and humble traveler, each time you have left a place he would arrive missing you each time as you have never stayed in one place for too long which resulted you in meeting a nice young man by the name of xie lian who is a humble cultivator also traveling. You soon start having a crush on xie lian as he is such a kind person so it was no surprise when you started developing feelings for the young man.
On your journey with xie lian you meet many interesting people and fight against some enemies as well, though even when you can fight it’s not as good as two junior officials from the heavens and your crush; xie lian, fighting though xie lian always seems to be there for you no matter what and can protect you and your weak spots which warms your heart and love for him.
You soon met hua cheng when you had became a bride bait to lure out the ghost groom or also known as ghost bride as you all soon found out that the ones behind the disappearance of brides was a woman one who shared history with pei Ming, who you find familiar in name but can’t place where it was familiar. Pei jr saw you and noted to tell his father about you.
You later met San lang when he was with you while you and xie lian was riding a cart together to get back home to your little shrine in piqu village, later spending the night there with you and xie lian before the two junior officials came by again with another mission to banyue(?) pass. Many months later and many adventures later you, San lang who you later found out was hua cheng, and xie lian who you also found out later was a god, started a relationship together.
Pei Ming had soon asked xie lian if he could meet you as you very well could be his sister who finally reincarnated, xie lian at first was worried that pei Ming would flirt with you but soon found out that you were pei Ming’s reincarnated sister and let pei Ming meet you though with a subtle warning on if pei Ming hurt you he and hua cheng would show no mercy even if he was your past life brother. You were skeptical about the situation between you and pei as you had no memories and there wasn’t really any proof and pei Ming could have gotten the wrong person but after meeting pei Ming you kept getting memories of your past life but before you could celebrate on finding out the pei Ming is actually your brother you were sadly killed by a jealous woman who had mistaken you for pei Ming’s lover instead of sister.
The woman was soon tortured and killed by hua cheng, xie lian and pei Ming, thankfully the woman was a ghost so xie lian and pei Ming didn’t get in trouble on killing her if she was human, and even if she was it would be easy to hide that fact considering who the three were. Hua cheng and xie lian are now on the hunt for your next life with pei Ming as the two both love you and won’t let you go even after you die and pei had just found you he won’t lose your next life like he did last time which means he gives up on womanizing if it meant you won’t get hurt like you did last time. You won’t ever escape them and no one will ever take you away from them now.
(A/n: hope yall liked it!! I decided on making pei Ming a platonic yandere as I thought it fit plus since xie lian and hua cheng were already yandere i thought why not him too? lol anyway hope yall have a wonderful day/evening/night!!)
Hi! Do you have any headcanons about the townspeople's reactions when they first heard that the farmer joined the adventurer's guild?
Ooh this is interesting one! I had a lot of fun writing this headcanon. But I didn't expect the headcanon to be so huge! Well, I write about everyone in the valley, so it's fair enough, I guess... Thanks for your ask! Hope you enjoy the headcanon!
Digression: Given that Farmer just joined the Guild, I'm guessing they don't know Farmer that well yet, so this would be their very first reaction.
SDV and SVE townspeople's react to the news that Farmer has joined the Adventurer's Guild:
The mines are full of various gems. So if Farmer doesn't mind, they could bring some Emily to meditate on. She will make someone in return, of course! Maybe sew a warm and comfortable suit for long adventures?
Well, if swinging a sword is more interesting than being a farmer or fishing, then who is Willy to disturb the youth? Although, maybe with the help of an adventurer, an old fisherman will be able to catch rare fish in dangerous caves?
Are you going on long trips? Make sure you stock up on food. Leah can help them with simple snack making, just a few hazelnuts and berries are enough, there are plenty of them in the Valley.
Well, if the Farmer is happy to be an adventurer, then why not? Robin wishes them good luck and offers to go to her workshop on the way to the Guild to say hi. Maybe they look at some new buildings upgrades on the farm, or will become Sebby's friend?
Oh dear, it must be cold on top of the mountain and in the mines. Maybe Evelyn could make them a warm scarf or hat? It would be terrible if they caught a cold.
Who? Adventurer? George doesn't care who they are, as long as they don't block his TV show.
Fantastic, Andy thought. So instead of cultivating a huge area with fertile land that any farmer would dream of getting, they moonlight as a monster hunter in that Guild? Andy is pissed off. Like, If you want to be an adventurer - sure whatever, just sell the land so real farmers can use it.
Linus knows that everyone chooses their own path in life. But Farmer, in the early days of Linus's acquaintance, treated him politely and without prejudice. So Linus would be sad if another grave appeared in the cemetery near the railway. He will never forget Getra...
Wow, they got accepted into the Guild? This is awesome! Abigail would also like to become a member of the Adventurer's Guild too, but her parents will freak out.
Since the Farmer, as an adventurer, will descend into the mines, Demetrius recommends paying attention to various crystal formations and stones. If the Farmer wants, then let them bring him a couple of crystals for research, he will pay for their discovery.
Well then. It is unlikely that, apart from food, Caroline can advise something in her husband's store. But let them come in, at least just warm themselves near the fireplace, or pray at the altar of Yoba.
So they will be constantly covered in dirt and monster blood? Eew, stay away from Haley. She doesn't want them to stain her beautiful new dress.
Come on, young adventurer! In the Saloon, Gus always has delicious food, cold ale and warm beds. Don't forget to tell him if you have any allergies.
Oooh, Vincent is already starting to throw a bunch of questions at them. Have they already fought monsters? Will they show weapons? Do these monsters have long fangs? Jas is more restrained than her friend, but her eyes also sparkle with interest in listening to them.
Aren't they too frail for such adventures? Look, Alex doesn't care, but he believes that without any physical training they will not be able to hold out for a long time.
Susan heard how many brave warriors became crippled or died in battle with monsters. The cemetery next to her farm and Marlon who often goes there is proof of this. So please be careful sweetie, and don't forget to take time to rest.
And Elliott is just thinking of dedicating the next novel about a brave adventurer who fights a huge monster for the hand of hero beloved. Don't forget to tell him something interesting over a glass of ale! Maybe he can find inspiration in their stories.
Oh, there's another adventurer in our Valley? If they come across any artifacts in their adventures, come to the museum. Gunther will find something to repay for the find.
Adventurer, you say? And how much do they earn? Enough to give Old Pam a mug of beer at the Saloon?
JojaMart always has tasty and cheap food to go for long hikes. Doesn't spoil, cooks quickly, very tasty and nutritious, we cares about our customers! So come to Joja, Morris will help you choose what you want, and don't forget the 20% discount coupon!
If they have an extra gold bar or a diamond lying around in their adventures, then bring it to Maru, she will need them for the next inventions!
Wow, Victor read so many books about different Guilds around the world! He hopes that the Farmer, as a full member, will tell about the famous warriors and magicians of the Guilds. Oh, they don't know them yet? Well, okay...
Hmm, given their connection to forest magic, Magnus isn't surprised they followed in the adventurer's footsteps. Guilds and mages have worked side by side for many years. At least he knows, looking into the future, that the Farmer will definitely not die until they brings the iridium bar to the wizard. Ok, that's a pretty cynical thought on his part...
Cool, and? Honestly, Sebastian thinks it's pretty cool, but don't expect reaction from him. He barely knows them.
O-oh, alright... It's their choice. Just please don't show Penny any parts of the killed monsters, she's too sensitive and doesn't want to ruin her appetite.
Jodi keeps an eye on her sons so that they, too, don't go down the dangerous path of adventurers. It's so scary there, and all these monsters! Not to mention the dubious diet and the inability to wash normally in constant trips.
Sweetie, are you sure that's how you want to earn your living? If they go to the Guild believing that they can get rich there, they better contact Olivia. She can help them earn a lot of money in the stock market.
Merciful Yoba, please, be careful. Harvey may be making money as a doctor, but he wouldn't want to see Farmer dying in a clinic. Patients who die right in the doctor's arms... This never goes away from memory.
Do they really think it's important for Shane to know who they've become? If they don't put a mug of beer in front of him in the Saloon, they can go to hell with their fucking Guild.
Lewis expected a new farmer to come to the valley, not a new adventurer. Oh well, they know better...
Pierre, in addition to seeds and fertilizers, also has delicious and fresh vegetables and fruits that will not spoil for a long time and will be a wonderful camping dinner! Everything is natural and of the best quality, not like Joja... Even Marlon buys here, so don't miss the opportunity!
Hey, that's actually very cool! Sam, as a child, once thought he would also go on adventures, but playing the guitar is more dear to him.
Yeeep! Don't scare Sophia like that anymore! They are covered with dust and something green. Is that the blood and slime of monsters?! Eeeeeeeew!!!
...Kent has known so many horrors in battle, and they want to fight monsters in a fit of altruism? Trust him, slimes and golems are not monsters. What he learned in this damned war... That's where the real horror is.
Well, your choice. If she has an extra glass of milk or cheese, then Marnie will generously share with them, adventurers probably often starve because of the inability to buy normal food. At least that's what she heard...
Another adventurer, another sword. For Clint, it's more work in the forge, and more dull thoughts.
Oooh, WRH/NMJ, either (1) the first moment WRH realized he had a Thing for NMJ or (2) arranged marriage AU with all the awkwardness that entails :)
Thank you for the prompt! Let's try the first moment Wen RuoHan realized he had a Thing for Nie MingJue~ I am weak for Wen RuoHan admiring Nie MingJue over something that never gets fully appreciated by anyone else, and having it happen during this occasion is just the cherry on top ❤
☀️
“It sounds like they’re preparing for war up ahead,” Wen Qing said. “Let’s turn back, Uncle.”
They walked the stone paths under the trees of the Unclean Realm with their fans fluttering in front of them. Although the day was sliding into evening, the searing heat had yet to follow suit. Yells and shouts and the ring of steel on steel grew louder as they moved along. They had passed plenty of closed doors and shut gates, nothing that would have prevented Wen RuoHan if he truly wanted to explore, but no one had stopped them strolling the open grounds which had led them to this place.
“Have you ever seen saber practice?” Wen RuoHan asked.
“Years ago when suddenly everyone had a saber for a week, but no one was shouting about it.”
“The Qinghe Nie are a fiercely prideful sect. This is how they welcome us to their discussion conferences.”
Wen Qing sighed. “Frighten us off, you mean?”
“Don't tell me some shouting has frightened you, A-Qing.”
There were few braver than she, however, and even the suggestion did not phase her. Only as they approached a stone arch and the sound of training grew louder did she show any sign of reluctance. “Where are we going?”
Wen RuoHan smiled. “We are taking a closer look.” There was very little reason to attend these conferences beyond seeing what the other sects were doing. Tradition ran deep, however, and methods rarely changed. He wasn’t expecting much, but it was Wen Qing’s first time in the Unclean Realm. A clever girl had grown up into a clever young woman, with fresh eyes that might notice what he himself did not.
Instead, she said, “Sect Leader Nie sent instructions we were to remain at our residence and the Sword Hall this week. It might be best not to push him at his first discussion conference.”
Upon taking the role of sect leader in the wake of his father's death, Nie MingJue had infamously avoided attending the discussion conferences held in Qishan, Lanling, Yunmeng, and Gusu. Only when hosting finally fell upon the Qinghe Nie in rotation did he finally relent to obligation.
Wen RuoHan couldn't blame him. Discussion conferences had become weary when Wen RuoHan had, over the years, lost interest in what his fellow leaders had to say. Their cultivation techniques crawled while all his life he had sought to run. Their management of the night hunts called for small, equal pieces for everyone to nibble upon, but it would be irresponsible of him to let his sect go hungry. And negligent of him to have traveled all this way and not stretch his legs.
“Some things never change,” Wen RuoHan said with some dry fondness as they came upon the training grounds. Dozens of young disciples in their dark, Qinghe Nie robes were paired off and in the midst of practice. Sunlight caught off the silver steel, adding flashes of light to an already aggressive display that looked, after several moments, like a dance.
The man overseeing the training stood taller than all the rest. With his robes hanging off the hips and tied at the waist, he struck a bold and handsome figure even with his eyes narrowed as the setting sun smiled on his face.
“I stand corrected,” Wen RuoHan said pleasantly, feeling the breeze off his fan more acutely. “The view has improved.”
Wen Qing frowned. For all her brilliance, weapons training for cultivation had rarely interested her as much as much as the wounds of the trainees. “The noise has not.”
Indeed, the man leading the lesson had a loud voice that would make meek disciples quiver. To Wen RuoHan’s agreement, the group at present were anything but meek as they all roared back wordlessly in affirmation to their trainer's command.
“Mind your balance!” the man shouted. “The next one who falls over will be standing on their hands and we’ll see if their feet can do better with a saber!”
“Now there is a cultivator who minds his training,” Wen RuoHan mused with a laugh. “We may have to borrow this one to ready our own for next year's conference.” Already decisions had been made to host events in Qishan along with the usual discussions. Horse racing, archery, and duels, plus poetry among others.
Wen Qing gave him a strange look. “That is Nie MingJue, Uncle. Sect Leader Nie.”
Wen RuoHan's smile froze, and then slowly fell. “Ah,” he said, shutting his fan with a soft clap, “he certainly looks nothing like his father.”
“And he's coming this way...”
“So he is. What shall we tell him?”
“...That we are going back to our rooms to have dinner. We look forward to the start of the conference in the morning.”
Wen RuoHan looked at her in surprise. “Are we now?”
“Yes.” And she had already turned away to leave.
“It would be rude of me to not greet our host now that he is here,” Wen RuoHan considered aloud as Nie MingJue walked straight through his fighting disciples to reach them on the most direct path.
Wen Qing hesitated.
“What is that expression, A-Qing?” He motioned her away with the closed fan. “If you do not want to speak with him, then go have the tea ready when I return.”
“...Yes, Uncle.”
She walked back down the path, scattering the shadows that had gathered there. He wasn't sure if she knew the way, but no doubt there would be plenty of volunteers to direct her, blessed as she was with her mother's beauty. Although, now that he thought about it, the Qinghe Nie were said to not be enchanted by beautiful things not made of steel.
“Sect Leader Wen.” Nie MingJue stood on the other side of the stone archway as if a barrier separated then. He glanced to where Wen Qing had gone before continuing, “What are you doing here alone?”
Nie MingJue certainly struck a fine figure up close with skin damp and golden from standing in the sun. Freckles scattered across his nose and cheeks and covered his ample shoulders. He still had his saber in hand, and while he had respectfully sheathed it in his approach, his grip was not relaxed. It was difficult to tell if it was heat radiating off of him or his anger.
Wen RuoHan smiled. “Alone? Do I not still have your Nie cultivators for company?” And he looked over to the small cluster of cultivators less than discreetly stalking him, keeping an eye on him from the shadows of the nearby trees and building from the first moment he had stepped foot in the Unclean Realm.
Nie MingJue was frowning when Wen RuoHan looked back to him. “Is there something you needed?”
Wen RuoHan opened his mouth, then closed it again. A tricky question. “To greet my host and wish him well.” Normally gifts were offered to new Sect Leaders, but Nie MingJue's rise was years ago. Wen RuoHan had not been informed of the past Sect Leader Nie's death until months later when the grieving period was through and the Qinghe Nie had resolutely shut their gates to outsiders for a time. Wen RuoHan looked to the fan in his hand and held it out to Nie MingJue. “These discussion conferences are deceptively long. Cool off and calm down, or you'll run yourself into the ground before the end.”
Nie MingJue's eyebrows pinched his brow--but he took the fan. Strong fingers curled over it, tighter and tighter until Wen RuoHan waited for it to get crushed beneath his fist.
Would a broken fan make up for a broken saber? The fan, however, meant little to him than some meager relief from the heat.
So he was surprised when Nie MingJue dropped his hand to his side with the fan still held tight. His expression was peculiar, as if he held a hundred words stuffed in his mouth and on his tongue. When he spoke his voice was taut with control.
“If you are unable to find your rooms, I can find someone to escort you.”
“Do you think I'm lost?”
“I gave instructions that everyone was to retire to their rooms when they arrived. Either you are lost or you are trespassing.”
Trespassing. Now there was an accusation Wen RuoHan had never heard of.
And yet an apology fluttered in and out of his thoughts, but it would be ingenuous at best. Wen Qing had warned him and he did not regret what he had seen or done. He was Sect Leader Wen, after all. He had been raised to apologize for nothing.
But he wasn’t out to make enemies. Discussion conferences lasted twice as long when everyone was trying to pick a fight. “A little bit of both,” he conceded lightly, although Nie MingJue looked none too pleased to hear it. “I will retire for the evening then. After seeing your management of the saber training, I am looking forward to your management of tomorrow’s discussion. Be sure not to lose your voice before then.”
My favourite thing about Samhain is indeed the spiritual energy I mentioned, which to me is not quite as strong on other holidays. However, I like these others too because... I guess it's hard to explain, but it makes me feel more in tune with nature? The wheel of the year is basically the celebrations of equinoxes and solstices, it has three harvest festivals etc. so the main thing for me is that feeling of honouring, feeling and experiencing the nature we come from! -✨
I definitely see your points about LQR, too! I think he's incredibly dutiful, which in my opinion is a similarity to Denethor, they both have a duty towards their people (for LQR it's his nephews, for Denethor the entirety of Gondor). But yes, LQR definitely wants to protect LWJ from... rash decisions, maybe? Seeing how quickly and entirely he falls for WWX, I imagine LQR is scared of him ending up like his father. The rules also play a very important part -✨
I feel like they are some kind of thing that the Lans, especially LQR, hold onto very tightly because a) it's basically their heritage and b) it gives a very clear guide for life. I don't want to say LQR doesn't know to live life without those rules, but he definitely sees them as incredibly important and cannot accept that LWJ is trying to bend them because a) again, they're basically heritage and b) he just wants the best for him, and maybe the rules have made a good life possible for LQR -✨
Now, how did you spend Christmas? And did you have a good time? I really hope you did😊 Question for today is: I'm giving you a couple of Kiss Marry Kills! (kills included because I'm a little evil I guess) 1. Wei Wuxian - Jiang Cheng - Jiang Yanli 2. Lan Jingyi - Jin Ling - Lan Sizhui 3. Nie Huaisang - Nie Mingjue - Lan Xichen 4. Xue Yang - Song Lan - Xiao Xingchen I wish you a good remainder of the holidays! -✨
Hey CC! 😊
Christmas was lovely, thanks! I spent it at home with my parents, so we had a rather relaxed Christmas from usual. But we still got to speak to the family over the phone and on video chat, so that was nice.
How you describe the spiritual energy and being more in tune with and honouring nature sounds really nice, actually! I can imagine that would be a great feeling and way of celebrating and connecting more with it, especially since nature is always there and does so much for us! 🍃 I think that’s such a cool thing to honour and respect.
You explain my Lan Qiren feelings perfectly! I imagine that a lot of the Lan elders are very much beholden to the tradition of the rules, since to them it’s just the done thing to abide by and they’ve probably not really felt that they’ve led them wrong. There was a photoset I saw earlier today which seemed to sit almost perfectly with what we were talking about, which was this comparison here. To Lan Qiren, his brothers’ downfall was breaking off from the path they all followed and doing what he liked in the name of love, and he was only rewarded with tragedy in the end by doing so. To him, as long as his nephews stick to the path and abide by the rules set by their clan, they won’t suffer in the same way. He wants the best for them, and Lan Qiren truly believes the best is ‘abide by our rules for they won’t steer you wrong’.
And to be honest with you, when he see’s what happens to both Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian when they do fall off the path, Lan Qiren probably feels justified in his belief. To him, the troublesome Wei Wuxian dies for doing his own thing and practicing in the art of an unnatural cultivation, and Lan Wangji suffers through both a) the grief of loosing him and b) the punishment he receives through the effort of defending and protecting him. He doesn’t want to punish his nephew, but then again Lan Wangji wouldn’t have ended up in such a situation if he had just followed the path that the rest of them do.
Of course, we as the reader/viewer know that Lan Wangji is right in questioning what he’s always known and that Wei Wuxian has changed his views for the better by allowing him to see that the world isn’t black and white but rather different shades of grey, but Lan Qiren doesn’t know that. His view is different, and all he sees is his youngest nephew being led astray by the troublesome boy from his childhood. If the rules of tradition have never steered Lan Qiren wrong, why would he not have faith that they would always guide his nephews in the right direction?
Oooh, Kiss, Marry, Kills are always fun! Let’s see:
1. Wei Wuxian - Jiang Cheng - Jiang Yanli
😧 You want me to kill one of the Yunmeng trio? That is cruel! 😭
I’d kiss Wei Wuxian - because I think if I even thought about marrying him I’d have Lan Wangji on my case and nope. I’m not risking death by cold stare 😂. Probably marry Jiang Yanli, because she is an absolute sweetheart and I cannot, will not hurt her. And I am so sorry my angry purple berry, but I think I’d end up killing Jiang Cheng just because he’d be so stubborn and angry over something we’d be arguing about and I would have enough™
2. Lan Jingyi - Jin Ling - Lan Sizhui
I’d kiss Sizhui (wow that’s weird after saying I’d kiss Wei Wuxian but there is no way I am killing the best son). Marry Jingyi, because I reckon that would be hilarious and a marriage where there is always entertainment (plus we could both be the most un-Lan Lan’s together that way 😂 ). Once again, I am so sorry golden boy, but I guess I’m killing Jin Ling here.
3. Nie Huaisang - Nie Mingjue - Lan Xichen
I’d kiss Nie Huaisang. Marry Lan Xichen - he’d be such a good husband! 😍 Plus I think he needs some happiness in his life after all the death and betrayal that’s happened. Sorry Mingjue, guess you’re staying dead in this scenario too.
 4. Xue Yang - Song Lan - Xiao Xingchen
Kiss Song Lan. Marry Xiao Xingchen. And kill the murder boy Xue Yang. You’re an interesting character Xue Yang, but I gotta protect the boys. Plus I’m sorry, if I even tried to kiss or marry him he’d probably just stab me with a dagger or sword he has hidden somewhere on his person. Boy’s a menace 🗡️
Writeblr Tag Game!
From @pens-swords-stuff. Thank you so much for posting! I really enjoyed reading your answers. XD I’m considering myself tagged, as I just like joining in the fun.
   1) What has been your all-time favorite scene that you’ve ever written?
Oooh, this is a tough one. I think it's between a scene where Rheia (MC) gets drunk and blurts out a proposition that sounds *way* more intimate/sexual than she meant it. (Sorta)
The other scene is a non-canon snippet that got...*cough cough hack cough* ver steamy. Absolutely NSFW. >.>
   2) What is your favorite thing about your writing style?
I like to think that I have interesting and believable dialogue, at the very least, I love when a character gets a good zing. Or puns. I live for puns. XD
   3) Who was your very first OC?
Oh, gods, we're going to go WAY back into the memory banks here. I think my very first OC was a fairy named Tia... I think. Created her back in 2004? 2005? Long time ago. >.> Definitely was a fairy, though. I remember next to nothing about the plot, fortunately.
   4) Why did you join the writeblr community?
Writing motivation, mostly. I was looking to make a space to share some of my more in-depth information about my WIP, and the Writeblr community looked so inviting and helpful. I wanted to join the fun. :D
   5) What is an idea that you’ve had for a story or a character, but never got around to working on?
I've got about 3 different ideas for a romance story, but I'm hesitant to start on it. Most of the fun I have is in the worldbuilding, so maybe romance books will come later once the "world" I'm working in is a little more established?
   6) What are some of your habits in writing?
Getting in the mood to write about 10 minutes before Husband insists we go to bed. Or getting caught up in a cooperative writing work with a friend in a different timezone so I end up staying up literally all night. Those are bad habits, though, so I don't recommend them.
A *helpful* habit I've cultivated from NaNoWriMo. Pick a word goal (I picked 1k words), and give yourself a little celebration or pat on the back whenever you reach it. Every time I got a new 1k words written, I would screech it to my Discord pals, my husband, my dog. Whomever was around. Sometimes I would literally give myself a pat on the back. Just for the tactile feedback. No pressure if it takes 1 day, 2 days, a week, whatever, to reach the next mark. Celebrate Each. and Every. Time. Like positive reinforcement for a puppy. My brain is a puppy, and it needs continual positive reinforcement to keep to habits. A few months later, I was hitting multiple 1,000 word benchmarks in a day, most days.
The trick there was not to beat myself up when I *didn't* hit the benchmark in 1 day. No sweat. Just keep plugging until I hit the benchmark 1,000 new words and HOORAY! YAY FOR ME! *pat on back*
Now for the tags and questions. Uuuuum. @mjmnorwood, @silvanasunehan, and @lachiffon.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
1) What was the latest situation/scene with your MC that made you laugh out loud when you thought of it/wrote it?
2) What piece of worldbuilding (if any) did you *forget* to do until it was necessary?
3) If you could say anything to young-you at the beginning of your writing journey, what would you say?
4) What OC/MC would you most want to take bar-crawling/clubbing?
5) What (if you have multiples) Antagonist/Villain of your WIPs/Works would you most want to hug? Alternatively, what Antagonist/Villain would you most want to sucker-punch?
6) If you had the opportunity to irl-visit the world of your WIP, would you? If so, what would you do first/where would you visit first?
That's all I can think of for now, any other Writeblrs that follow me, feel free to consider yourself tagged! ^_^
SV ch.63
someone was trying to hurt shizun, right? *snaps her fingers* alright, let’s see what’s gonna happen
The three different types of ancient demon blood were storms colliding within Shen Qingqiu’s body, locked together in a tangled web that was impossible to separate. Among them, Luo Binghe’s blood was holding together Shen Qingqiu’s five organs and protecting the veins connecting them.
this two sentences gave me life, how powerful must lbh be to be able to protect shizun from inside attacks and at the same time physically fight father-in-law and zhzuhzzusnakey?!?!? he is a god and doesn’t care about anything but his husband, LOOK
EDIT:
Shen Qingqiu knew this wouldn’t end well for him, but he didn’t want to drag anyone else down with him. His whole life, he’d always hated the kind of characters that just ended up becoming bargaining chips for others. If that was the kind of flimsy, delicate character role he was forced to play, he’d rather die.
(i love when we get more insight of shen yuan’s life or even just things that he sees as typical of himself -it says so much about his character!! i wanna know more about him before svsss ç_ç)
He clutched his hand over his heart and forced his face to remain neutral as he spoke. “Whatever Your Excellency would like to do to me, please, feel free. As you’ve said, after being forced to drink so many times, I should be getting used to it. But don’t even think about seeking the flesh of Luo Binghe. Luo Binghe, if you agree to him, I will strike you down myself with the force of the heavens.”
(ALL I CAN SAY TO THIS IS “SHIZUN YOU ARE SO COOL” SOIJGIEJRIORE sound awfully close to “if you touch even a hair of my lbh i’ll skin you alive”, with his calm and polite tone.
or also, shizun: “lbh’s flesh belongs to me” *giggles and smilles* guys i love him)
EDIT 2:
Tianlang-Jun stared at him strangely. “Who said I wanted his flesh?”
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh what but wait-
EDIT 3:
Tianlang-Jun continued. “He can’t compare to my own noble, handsome figure, so why would I want his flesh?” …… …… Who said you were more handsome than him?
Who put their seal of approval on this?
LOOK AT HOW OUTRAGED SHIZUN IS, LIKE “HOW DARE YOU DEFINE YOURSELF MORE HANDSOME THAN MY HUSBAND”?!?!?!?!?!?!!??! I AM DEAD BLESS YOU THOUSANDS OF TIMES A DAY, SHIZUN
EDIT 4:
Shen Qingqiu’s entire expression sunk in exasperation. “Then what exactly do you want?”
Zhuzhi-Lang replied, “Junshang desires that sword.”
SORRY WHAT? WHY? i mean, okay, that sword kick ass just by existing, but i thought he wanted lbh’s body so what’s going onnnnnnnnnnn
Tianlang-Jun confirmed, “That’s correct. I would like to present a gift to the human world, but I won’t be able to without that sword.”
don’t bother giving us gifts, we don’t need them, so thank you for the thought but-
EDIT 5:
Luo Binghe demanded. “Now hand him over!”
Zhuzhi-Lang immediately transformed into a serpent and caught Shen Qingqiu in his massive mouth. Tianlang-Jun leaped up gracefully, laughing loudly as he rose. “You really believed that? Hahahahahaha.”
I KNEW IT YOU FREAKING BASTARD-
also, shizun trying to defend lbh from these two bullies keeps being my favorite thing EVER, i can see sparks of their old relationship and it’s gold, PURE GOLD OKAY I LOVE THEM SO MUCH BUT I AM GONNA KILL THOSE TWO IF THEY DON’T RELEASE SHIZUN N O W
EDIT 6:
He was swallowed by Zhuzhi-Lang.
EWWWWWWWW OMG WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN HOW IS HE GONNA GET OUT EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
EDIT 7:
Shen Qingqiu kept his expression carefully blank as he wiped his face, making sure that there was no trace of reptile stomach juices remaining on him.
he does so with such nonchalance, if it were me, i wuould be throwing up and screaming and feeling disgusting like there was no tomorrow, omg woisajfiojgfoero
EDIT 8: oh, demonic geography!
EDIT 9:
He took a deep breath and mentally prepared himself so that he was 120% ready for whatever he might see. Then he looked down.
……The problem was even more serious than he thought.
Like a prosthetic limb made of leaves and branches, every inch of his right arm was covered in green, fleshy leaves and sprouts, trembling slightly along the limb with every motion. All five fingers were completely numb, and he couldn’t even curl them.
SHIT. RIGHT. I HAD ALMOST FORGOTTEN ABOUT THIS, OMG, WHAT’S GONNA HAPPEN TO HIM, HE CAN’T TURN INTO A TREE JUST BECAUSE HE LIKES PLAYING WITH LEAVES, HE CaNt’-
EDIT 10:
Just then, Zhuzhi-Lang approached, holding a small, steaming gold stove. Shen Qingqiu jumped as if he’d seen a ghost, instantly on high alert. “What are you doing!?”
Zhuzhi-Lang froze in place. “This subordinate just wanted to help Master Shen……”
every time he says he wants to help shizun i feel deeply uncomfortable. i’d be like, “no but thank you” with a polite smile while retreating one step at time, better be careful with snakes, DON’T LET THEM SMELL FEAR-
*run politely, shizun :)*
EDIT 11:
Shen Qingqiu pulled his robes back over his shoulders. Zhuzhi-Lang unconsciously glanced up, then quickly turned his gaze down again. Outside, Tianlang-Jun laughed. “Silly child, what are you embarrassed about?”
(these are the moments where i can almost kinda maybe quietly admire how cute and awkward zhuzhzuhsnakey truly is)
He’s right, Shen Qingqiu thought to himself. What do you have to be embarrassed about? Seeing this chest that was just covered in fleshy sprouts all over? Seeing this being that you just swallowed whole? What is there left to be embarrassed about?
Zhuzhi-Lang answered completely seriously. “My lord, please don’t mock this subordinate. I do not have the slightest of intentions towards Master Shen.”
He looked towards Shen Qingqiu and re-emphasized, “Absolutely none of Luo Binghe’s intentions.”
WO DE TIAN
I LOVE how lbh’s love for shizun is made so so so obvious by literally everyone in this novel, i live for moments like this!! shizun keeps denying his “possible” feelings while replying with a “wtf” every time someone says something about lbh being in love with him and guys
the moment he’ll snap...
I NEED TO SEE IT
EDIT 12: usually i say that father-in-law deserves to be strangled or whatever, BUT
Tianlang-Jun asked, “You and my son, have the two of you cultivated as partners?”
WE ARE ALL SO THANKFUL FOR THIS QUESTION OF YOURS, GREAT DEMON LORD. SUCH AN I N T E R E S T I N G   Q U E S T I O N right, sHiZuN-
Shen Qingqiu was sure he heard wrong. “What did you say?”
Tianlang-Jun patiently repeated himself, “I was asking Peak Lord Shen whether you and Luo Binghe……”
(I AM HONESTLY HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE RIGHT NOW SORRY SHIZUN)
Shen Qingqiu’s face twitched several times and he immediately put up his hand in a gesture to “stop.” Tianlang-Jun continued. “Or perhaps Peak Lord Shen doesn’t understand what I mean by cultivating as partners? It means that…”
Shen Qingqiu interrupted. “That’s enough.”
Could you have some sense of shame at least!?
(AHAHAAHAH OOOH HE KNOWS, HE KNOWS!! aaah i really feel thankful toward father-in-law for all this teasing right now ojoij3owfg WHO NEEDS SHAME WHEN WE LIVE IN A WORLD WITH BL SOAHFOIJPERKW)
EDIT 13:
God! D**n! Resentment! Of! Chunshan!
BLESS this song, ‘cause we need bingqiu fan both in and out of the novel xD i wanna listen to it too dovoiejpos
EDIT 14:
System: [Chatting with the BOSS about interests and hobbies, increasing the villain’s depth of character, B-points +150!]
BLESS THE SYSTEM TOO. this fake-quiet atmosphere that’s always there in scenes that would naturally be full of tension is one of the many many reasons i love these novels!!!! like, we feel the tension and we know it’s bad and we know something bad may happen but here they are, chatting “calmly” and it’s all i didn’t know i needed XD
EDIT 15:
Shen Qingqiu replied, “You’re planning to use the Heart Devil sword to open a crack between the two worlds?”
Tianlang-Jun corrected him. “To be accurate, it will be a merging of the two worlds.”
Merging the Human and Demon Realms!
EXCUSE ME WHAT?
HOW? WHY? SOMEONE CALLS BINGHE FOR HELP-
Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation
(back to masterpost)
New chapter, new chapter, new chapter! And it seems at least part of the new arc will cover the Sunshot Campaign or events surrounding it. We also get to meet some new characters (yay, more to add to the wiki!) and go back to their younger days, which are always a lot of fun. Well, the story is also taking a darker turn as we find out exactly why the Wen Sect was so hated...
Chapter 51: Courage (Part 1)
While I really want to know what is going to happen with our two protags on the run from the entire cultivation world, I also really want to find out more about the Sunshot Campaign. And about the other characters.
Like Jiang Cheng, my favorite angry ball of extra and- ok, I haven’t exactly settled on whether him or Nie Mingjue is my favorite angry extra guy, but I do really like his character. He isn’t actually that violent when he’s young, probably because someone had to be the reasonable, responsible one between him and Wei Wuxian. That, and Life hasn’t happened to either of them yet. He’s not that angry as a kid, just sort of a grump. Kind of understandable given who he had to grow up being compared to. xD
Anyway. I’m getting ahead of myself.
The kite-shooting game is a nice detail that helps flesh out the world, especially because it’s mentioned more than once. It’s the little things that contribute to worldbuilding, like the sorts of games children in this world play, not just what sort of magic system they have or the setting itself.
That being said, I remembered Wei Wuxian mentioning they played this as kids, while he was watching actual kids play it, so I really thought they were much younger in this flashback only for Yu Ziyuan to say “You’re seventeen already”.
Well, they must have been really bored, huh.
One neat thing about this part before Yu Ziyuan appears is that they pretty much are kids without a care in the world. If they can’t night-hunt, might as well have fun playing games. The adults were probably quite stressed out by the situation with the Wen sect and all the politics involved, but none of that worries or affects Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng until they get dragged into it.
Like kids, they don’t clean up after themselves to retrieve their kites. xD
ALSO. We finally get some awesome ladies in this novel! It’s about time we get more than really brief mentions to Jiang Yanli and no one else.
also, Jiang Cheng’s mother lol. “she was a natural at sneering, just like Jiang Cheng.”
“a natural at sneering”
so that’s where you got it from
Poor Jiang Cheng, first he’s always second best to Wei Wuxian, then he gets happy and sees his mother and she scolds him again. xD
The discussion of Madame Yu taking her husband’s surname is kind of interesting, because the other married ladies don’t seem to take their husband’s surname either. Jiang Yanli, Qin Su...
lol how do you tell someone’s cultivation level just by staring at them.
but man, is Jiang Cheng’s mother strong. xD she makes him stumble from one slap to the shoulder.
“Young people were never too patient. They wouldn’t feel satisfied unless they talked back.” lol I think you mean Wei Wuxian, that’s primarily his thing. Jiang Cheng is always the one telling him to shut his mouth and not making things worse
There is something about the tense, oppressive air from the Qishan Wen lording over the other sects that really makes this flashback as ominous as it should be. Well, they are basically holding the other sects’ younger generation hostage. I dunno, there’s just something about it.
but also, like, you can totally understand why everyone just snapped and killed them off later
omg Madame Yu, her sharp tongue is fun. Also. can you see where Jiang Cheng gets his Extra-ness from later in life.
Jiang Fengmian is so chill though lol. they balance each other out well
And of course, the kids that they are, Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng don’t really seem to get the gravity of it. They do understand it of course, but to say “I’ll go” without conflicting feelings shows their youth.
I had to read this exchange a few times to understand what was going on. xD Jiang Fengmian seems to call to her because the word “servant” might be a touchy one, though I don’t know why it matters so much at this point. Wei Wuxian clearly isn’t bothered, and he doesn’t seem the type to have ever been bothered by it. I guess this is a reference to Wei Wuxian’s father having been a servant, and it’s ironic that Jiang Yanli is serving him, not the other way around.
(you know what would be an interesting AU? if Wei Wuxian’s parents didn’t die and he wasn’t adopted by Jiang Fengmian...)
Although she seems to be a bit extreme with her sudden ranting, Madame Yu’s outburst at dinner really says a lot about the state of the world and worries going on at the moment. You just don’t see it in anyone else because Jiang Fengmian is too chill and the kids are kids.
I wish we could have had Jiang Yanli say something instead of just passing out food to people. xD she’s quite important despite being dead before the story starts, you know!
ahahaha Wei Wuxian, of course you think to look for the Gusu Lan disciples, and then want to go over to Lan Wangji! Even back then, they were drawn to each other.
At least he listened to Jiang Cheng for once in his life.
talk about dictators though, taking all their swords so they can’t be a threat and so they’d be at a disadvantage night-hunting.
lol Jiang Cheng trusts Wei Wuxian as far as he can throw him, so he actually physically holds onto him this time so he won’t cause trouble.
you didn’t explain why this guy has the scary name of ‘Core-melting Hand’
that’s concerning
At least Lan Xichen got out of this insanity somehow! he’s too nice for this place.
Aah, Jin Zixuan, you again! I swear, it’s so easy to forget who he is. If I didn’t make the Wiki, I would still be confused who he is because several other names in the story are so similar to his (Madame Yu and Madame Mo’s son actually have the “same” name, Ziyuan, though in Chinese it’s not the same because the characters are totally different, in english there is no distinction).
Anyways, lol at Wei Wuxian who is used to the treatment from Madame Yu, and even funnier is Lan Wangji’s “in a state of inner peace and absolute indifference, as though his soul had already risen out of his body”
Oooh, I knew Lan Wangji injured his leg, but not that it happened at this point. Interesting, interesting. Wonder how their conversation is going to go (if it goes anywhere at all and Lan Wangji doesn’t dodge out of it)...so far, they just end up flirting with each other via Wei Wuxian annoying the shit out of Lan Wangji. xD
Anyways, can’t wait to read the next part! I think the upcoming events were mentioned once in a chapter, quite a while ago now...
