WRITEBLR INTRO
Basics:
Gabbi
she/her - demisexual
28
Communication Specialist by day - Writing Gremlin by night
ask game and tag game friendly!
Hello! I’m Gabbi. I have been writing ever since I could string together words. I started with fan fiction, but have since branched more seriously into the world of original novels. All of my WIPs, for now, take place in the same fantasy world during different time periods and with different characters. It allows me to make new stories without having to reinvent a world/lore each time. I focus mostly on the relationship between two people and how their story unfolds.
I’ve never been very good at sharing my work, but I really want to challenge myself to be part of a community of writers and I can’t quit tumblr so... *gestures vaguely* ...here I am.
Favorite Tropes/Content: Fake Dating, Found Family, Diverse Casts (LGBTQ+, POC, mental health and disability representation), male characters that aren’t afraid to show their emotions and just feel (let our boys be soft sometimes), I’m willing to read most things if they’re well-written.
MY WIPS:
Tumblr media
Of Yarrow and Daffodils (Current Nanowrimo 2022 Project):
Low fantasy in a contemporary time, Third person alternating POV between the two MC’s, romance (some smut) and exploration of how success is relative to the individual and you shouldn’t compare your success to that of others.
Eusadora knows her life is in shambles. That isn’t anything new. Her ex-fiancé called off their wedding a month before they tied the knot, she’s still stuck at home with her family, and, to top it all off, the elder crocus flowers have yet to bloom this season and she can’t figure out why.
Clearly, the god of good fortune has it out for her.
When Zebulon Yarrow shoves a bouquet of daffodils in her face and declares his crush on her, she wonders if the strings of fate are finally pulling in her favor?

Of Coast and Courtships:
Fantasy in a regency-esque time, third person alternating POV between the two MC’s, romance (some smut, lots of sexual tension), heavy political intrigue b-plot
Nemaia Nevarro, aptly referred to as the stone hearted heiress by her peers, has played the game of courtship for the last four months. Some would say she’s bad at the game, but she thinks she’s quite good. She doesn’t play it to find love. No. It’s so people stop talking about her father and the fact that he’s off chasing after ghost ships.
But when people start speculating on his whereabouts, Nemaia is forced to face a harsh truth. Is she ready to take the mantle?
Mordan Rothenel may have made an error when he agreed to accompany his employer’s son, Theus Maistel, across the Jasper Sea to try to win the heart of the Nevarro Heiress. He thought it would be a quick trip, one that had him back home by the Eve of Frost, but his hopes are dashed when he’s forced to bear witness to the most painfully one-sides courtship in history.
His only silver lining is that he now resides in the largest port city on the continent. His experiments require rare goods and he can find them here – right at his fingertips.

I love your fics so much!!! And I had a thought for your "Of Coffee and Conversations" So Chay deciding that if Kim won't tie him up or leave marks on him he's going to have one helluva time doing it to Kim. Maybe buying a vibrating butt plug and making Kim wear it and controlling the vibrations as punishment for Kim not being the "rough" that he knows Kim wants to be with him... Just an idea 😏👀
Thanks for liking “Of Coffee and Conversations”! I appreciate that so much!
For the time being, and since I’m lovingly forcing @shouyo-yo to create comics alongside these fics, I’m going to refrain from writing any explicit smut into this series. That might change, but as of now, Kim and Chay are just having raunchy conversations. I hope you’ll still keep reading OCAC though!
That being said, I love a good prompt. 🖤
Warning: The following has anal play, sex toys, orgasm denial, and use of restraints.
Kim’s not sure how he got here, wrists tied to his headboard, his nightshirt pushed up to his chin, his boxers sitting incredibly low on his hip bones. He imagined that Porchay would take their previous conversation and go wild. In fact, Kim figures he should blame himself. He did, after all, ask Porchay to be rougher with him.
He didn’t expect Porchay to go balls to the wall though.
“Did you drug me?”
“No. You just sleep really deeply after a session at the studio.”
“Right.”
“You do. Like a bear.” Porchay has his back to Kim as he looks through his sock drawer. He rummages through until he finds what he’s looking for. “Ah! Got it!” He turns back to Kim. “It’s new.”
“What’s that?” Kim asks, not scared, but curious. He cranes his neck, but he can only see Porchay and not what he’s holding.
“A present.”
“Oh? For me?” Kim teases.
“Yeah.” Porchay crawls into the bed, settling himself neatly into Kim’s pelvis. Kim feels his dick twitch underneath Porchay’s ass. “I’m taking your advice.”
“It’s about time.”
“It’s too bad you have that magazine shoot tomorrow.” Porchay’s face hovers over Kim’s. “The biting and scratching is what I really wanna do.”
“That really is a shame,” Kim drawls.
“So I had to come up with an alternative.”
“Oh?”
Porchay finally reveals what he’s holding. Between their faces, Kim sees an average sized black silicone plug.
Aw, that’s cute. Kim smiles sweetly. He wishes he could be intimidated, but he’s had a rich sex life. Bottoming isn’t new to him, and the plug is nothing compared to what he had fucked himself silly on before going steady with Porchay.
He admires Porchay’s tenacity.
“I think I’ll like the alternative.”
“I hope so,” Porchay whispers, his fingers dragging Kim’s boxers down.
“I hope you have lube-“
“Of course I do,” Porchay says, lightly kissing Kim’s mouth before trailing down his chest.
Kim inhaled sharply. Porchay’s breath tickles his skin, and being flat on his back is strange; he can’t see what Porchay’s doing, but he feels everything. Like the soft, wet stripe that Porchay leaves across his ribs, the little bite Porchay makes on his belly. As Kim expected, Porchay kisses him everywhere except where he aches the most: his cock is more than ready.
But with the snap of the tube’s lid, Kim knows Porchay has other plans.
Kim doesn’t wait. He spreads his legs before Porchay can ask.
“I think you like this alternative too much.”
“What can I say? I have an open mind.”
“Do you?” Porchay’s fingers, slick with a cool substance, trace around Kim’s rim.
He sucks in a breath when Porchay’s finger presses inside.
“I guess you do have an open mind.”
“Are you calling me a slut?” Kim demands, trying hard not to sound so needy. But he feels his ass swallowing Porchay’s finger.
“Mmm,” Porchay wonders. “No.”
After a few thrusts, a second finger twists its way in, and Kim whines.
“Or maybe I am?”
Kim grits his teeth. God knows he’s had worse done to him, but it’s Chay, and it’s Chay’s voice and his fingers all up inside him, just barely touching, fucking Kim where he needs it. “Not as rough as I thought you’d be,” he manages, desperate to hold onto whatever pride he’s got left.
He knows he’s slipping, though.
Porchay pulls away from his lover, and Kim is breathless with the loss of contact, straining against the ties. His lover liberally douses the plug in lube before looking back at him.
“I’m not cruel,” Porchay whispers as he begins to push the plug into Kim.
Kim goes lightheaded, sees black splotches in his vision. The only mercy is that he can’t see Porchay pushing the toy into him because he’s certain that doing so would cause him to snap. He gasps as Porchay works the tip in.
And they know the plug’s only getting wider from there on.
“Chay,” Kim moans.
“Kim. You look so good,” Porchay whines as if he’s the one about to be plugged up. “Can… can you take it all?”
“Fuck, yes, keep- Ah!” Kim cries out when he feels his ass stretch again, pride left dead and forgotten.
Chay gives Kim’s thigh a trembling kiss when the final bit of the plug is nestled into his lover. Kim’s panting when Chay sits up, drinking in the sight: his idol boyfriend, tied down, plugged up, sweaty and needy from him.
“Not rough enough?”
Kim’s dazed. He can’t answer. He’s had worse, but nothing has ever felt so blindingly good. Full.
“I’m not cruel,” Chay says, reaching into his pocket.
Suddenly, Kim feels vibrations tearing through his body. His back arches as he cries out Chay’s name.
“Or maybe I am.”

144 Hours in Taiwan: OCAC Recap
Tumblr media
Not by popular opinion, I truly believe that summer is the prime season to visit Taiwan. I have always noticed an undeniable feverish buzz that permeates through the city, especially during the summers. As Taiwan is very community-focused, there is always a wide variety of emerging pop-up shops, community fairs and local events to participate in – everyday truly feels like a new adventure!I created a video mash of highlights from this trip using the app, 1SecondEveryday
Embarking on a week-long journey with my #taclfam
Earlier this summer, I joined a total of 38 representatives and leaders from various TAP chapters, TACL National Board (our parent organization), Political Internship Program (PIP) and Leading Youth Forward (LYF) camp to embark on a week-long adventure to Taiwan. This trip was sponsored by OCAC (Overseas Community Affairs Council), a cabinet-level council whose main purpose is to create international programs to further bridge the gap between Taiwan and America by engaging Taiwanese youth. In the past, I’ve primarily only visited Taiwan to spend time with family so I was excited to embark on this journey with an entirely new group of people.
As the purpose of this overseas trip is to engage millennial professionals, we participated in a lot of government-related activities such as lectures, workshops and tours. We visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and also toured the Presidential Office Building, which is currently in its 100th anniversary of being built! One of the biggest highlights of this trip was participating in a formal cabinet-level discussion with the Vice President, Chen Chien-Jen (陳建仁), where we were encouraged to speak our minds and ask any questions we had in regards to Taiwan. It was definitely super informative to hear more about his perspective on certain topics as well as his ideas on how we can be more active in further bridging that gap.
Group photo with the Vice President
We also attended workshops where we learned about industries in Taiwan, indigenous tribes and even got to interact with working professionals! In my visits back, I seldom encounter TA professionals who have successfully uprooted their life in the States to make “the big move” to work in Taiwan. One standout professional’s workshop that I had the pleasure of attending was named Sunny Yang. A Teach-for-America alumni, Sunny works as the Director of Licensing for a non-profit organization called “City Wanderer.” City Wanderer is an educational program that utilizes gamification as an innovative way to aspire youth to step outside of their comfort zones and discover the limitless prospects for their future.
How the game works: In teams of three, participants are assigned a total of 30 “missions” to complete within a three-week period. The missions vary in that they challenge the youth to engage with minorities, interact with other cultural groups and more.
In a way, I see a lot of similarities with City Wanderer and one of the events that I spearhead called ‘The Amazing TAP Race,’ except that it is more targeted and purposeful. After attending the workshop, I was brimming with ideas on how to reiterate and potentially expand the gameplay to enter different avenues and territories for social impact!
Getting in touch with our cultural roots
Of course, this trip wasn’t entirely focused on professional because, I mean, what fun would that be? It just wouldn’t be Taiwan without the obligatory cultural excursions that help educate us about Taiwanese history.
During our visit to the largest interactive museum in Taiwan, PingLin Tea Museum (坪林茶業博物館), we learned firsthand about the tea-making process and how tea differs from culture to culture. Did you know that in the country of Turkey that if you have a crush on somebody, you add sugar to the other person’s cup of tea? On the other hand, if you ever taste a hint of salt in your tea, you might want to avoid that person in the future…
Tumblr media
The first (pictured above) was, at first glance, just an installation made out of tangled wires. However, underneath a different lighting, the shadows of the wires revealed the translation, “Beyond formidable obstacles a brighter future shines.” The second quote I came across stated that, “If you aren’t innovating, then you aren’t progressing.” These quotes are a constant reminder that we shouldn’t be scared to be innovative even at the risk of failure, because success is a result of failure.
Eating our way through local Taiwanese cuisine
Tumblr media
Without a doubt, the most authentic way to experience the local food culture in Taiwan (or really any country that has them) are through the night markets. It can be overwhelming your first time due to congestion but you will find yourself being drawn to the many delicious “small eats.” During our late night run to the NingXia Night Market (寧夏夜市), we were reunited with the classic favorites such as lu rou fan, peanut ice cream cilantro rolls, and, of course, the infamous stinky tofu.
Tumblr media
We found ourselves in quite the sticky situation at the Vigor Kobo Pineapple Cake Factory (維格餅家鳳梨酥夢工場) where we hand-made our own, fresh pineapple cakes! Pineapple cakes are considered a staple in Taiwan, and it’s a common gift to bring back for friends and family. It was way too much fun making balls of the filling, rolling out the dough, molding them and watching the cakes get baked. The entire factory smelled like butter and pineapples — it was absolutely divine!
Learning about film and performing arts in Taiwan
Tumblr media
During the trip, we made a detour to visit the Arrow Cinematic Group. They are universally recognized for their work in film production and have produced countless MV’s featuring famous celebrities. We had the opportunity to explore the production set and learn about the equipment they used. They also took some professional photos of us! It was… quite amusing to watch the creativity that went into some of the poses.
We also made a trip to U-Theatre, which is known for performance art and theatre. We learned about the philosophy,”The Tao and Art as One” where “The Tao” means the training of one’s life while “Art” refers to the practice of aesthetics. During the visit, our group was tasked with the difficult challenge of learning both a drumming and dancing routine. Stakes were already set at an all-time high from witnessing a remarkable performance from the high school troupe, but we gave it our all!
…and that concludes the OCAC Taiwan trip recap!
Tumblr media
Truly, what an amazing experience this was! Even today, I oftentimes find myself daydreaming about all the fond memories I’ve made on this trip. From visiting a MRT-themed bar to rushing like a madman to cram a Chun Shui Tang (春水堂) boba run in to receiving the best massage ever at Ximending (西門町), I couldn’t have been more grateful to be given this opportunity!
A HUGE shoutout to OCAC for sponsoring this trip, the TACL National Board for making everything run so smoothly and lastly the representatives that participated in this trip for making it as fun as it was. I can’t wait for the next adventure!

What's Echo Reading
Previously:
All of the novels of Guy Gavriel Kay. Yes every single one.
This Census-Taker, by China Mieville (I have an immense respect for a story that absolutely refuses to concretely answer a single one of the questions it raises. Figure it out yourself.)
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski (7/22/2022 yea ok I already wasn't exactly Normal about Houses as like A Concept Im gonna be Dealing with that for a while)
New Cthulu: The Recent Weird, edited by Paula Guran (9/12/2022) what can I say I like 'em weird. These were all very much up my alley I would read ten more volumes if they existed)
The Labyrinth of Dreaming Books by Walter Moers (4/9/23) A sequel to one of my favorites, The City of Dreaming Books. Very well illustrated and does some fun things with type and diagetic texts which i appreciated. The longest central section is devoted to the narrator attending a puppet performance following the action of the previous book, described in meticulous detail, so not exactly what I'd call a gripping read. Always nice to spend some time in Bookholm tho.
The Dream Cycle of H.P Lovecraft: Dreams of Terror and Death (4/17/23) aka Randolph Carter's Bigtime Adventure Roadtrips. Mostly just made me want to reread my other Lovecraft collection tbh
Numbers in the Dark and Other Stories by Italo Calvino (translated by Tim Parks) My last big Book Arts assignment back at OCAC was based off a selection from Invisible Cities so I thought I'd check out some of the rest of his work. The tone of his writing reminds me a bit of my favorite short story collection: Stories for Night Time and Some for the Day so that seems like a good sign Returning to the library for now, may check it out again at a later date
The Haunting of Hill House, Shirley Jackson (10/23/2023)
Shadows of the Dark Crystal, JM Lee (11/27/2023) My Dark Crystal ttrpg campaign gave me brainworms so bad I'm reading YA about it. If I had read this when I was an actual child I would have been insufferable. I would have been obsessed there would have been no helping me.
Injection vol. 1 & 2, Warren Ellis (11/29/2023) My volume 3 was supposed to arrive today where IS it :(
Leech, Hiron Ennes (12/7/23) Ough I've never had such mixed feelings about a book ever. A very good book to be sure, amazing atmosphere, really nailed the gothic horror part of the gothic horror scifi soup. But I was so disapointed in how the Institute was handled and the direction the protagonist ended up growing in so the back half of it was... difficult.
So it turns out that when you actually have to make decisions about what you're gonna read it makes it much more difficult to actually, you know. Do that. That being said:
Currently Reading:
Fly by Night, Francis Hardinge - An old old favorite of mine. Gotta revisit the classics every few years y'know? (1/19/24)
Up Next (Possibly)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Out of Context Scenes from My Novel Draft that I Hope to Insert into Future Chapters:
****************************************************
“Do you not think me bold, Yasmine?”
He uttered quickly after the general had passed, lips pursed as he gazed at me in earnest.
It seems as though a certain prince was fishing for compliments.
I had wanted to ask him. Despite all that stood on my tongue, I manage to flatter him the way he so desired.
“....Your eyepatch is rather striking.”
“Does it make me resemble a warrior?”
“Not quite. You appear as though you are masquerading as a very frivolous pirate who has little knowledge on piracy at all, if truth be told.”
****************************************************
Odd. The way you phrased that makes you sound like a genuinely good person.”
“I never said I was a bad person.”
“Really? It was heavily implied.”

WIP: Of Coasts and Courtships
Character Intro: Nemaia Nevarro (Prequel to Of Yarrow and Daffodils)
Tumblr media
Name: Nemaia Ellison Nevarro Nicknames: Maia or Mai Title: Lady - her father is the Marquess of the Veridian Coast - 1/3 of the ruling aristocracy along with the patriarchs of House Oberlin and House Yarrow - she will one day inherit the title and estate. 30 years old - she/her - demiromantic
Physical Description: While her sister looks passably human, Nemaia inherited all the nymph traits from her mother. A stony gray complexion with white and black flecks. Full sclera black eyes, though hers are smaller and less distinct than a full-blooded nymph.
There is no hiding what she is, but she never wanted to. She has an imposing appearance, but she embraces it, has learned to cherish it. It’s a piece of who she is and she wouldn’t change that for the world.
Personality/Background: Nemaia is extremely perceptive and knows how to control a conversation. She’s perfected the art of keeping the attention off herself and on someone else. She listens to others stories, while keeping hers close to her chest. Many people underestimate her because they don’t know her, nor do they bother to. She’s the stone hearted heiress. She feels nothing and she let’s the world believe that.
Notes:
Her mother is a maiden nymph from the Endless Peaks, her human father fell in love with her and chose to marry her despite the uproar it caused in society.
A brilliant chess player - she loves to challenge people to a game to learn more about them.
She loves food, but even more so when it’s doused in sugar.
Her favorite book genre is erotica - because normally, there are no feelings attached and she believes that’s a more accurate depiction of real-life relationships.
Cares deeply for the Veridian Coast and its people. She sees that the system currently running is broken, but until she takes the mantle, the power to change things is just beyond her reach. She does what little she can in the meantime.
Prone to panic attacks and anxiety. She has no idea what she’s doing half the time and she hopes no one can tell.
Is currently in the midst of a game of courtship - she has no interest in finding a partner. Romantic love doesn’t exist as far as she’s concerned. But she plays anyway for her family’s sake.
Tumblr media
Plus some character art for funsies because I drew a few of them a while ago.

After finishing the Gojo's past arc in the manga, I went straight to Of Cruelty and Clemency and it left me speechless. I still have vivid pictures in my head from this one even months after reading it. Yes, Infidelity is a masterpiece but OCAC is my personal favorite and I just wanted to say thank you for writing it <3
When I tell you that Of Cruelty and Clemency is one of my own most beloved works as well... And so when it receives such generous recognition like yours, I fucking SOAR!! Thank you so so much for sharing these feelings with me despite it being months since you've read it! ❤️❤️❤️ I would love to hear which images from it exactly etched in your mind, if you ever feel like indulging your author again 😘
And for anyone curious, or hasn't read this Geto x Reader work of mine, here it is: link
Please give it a go if you're feeling some hard angst 💕
Thanks again, wonderful anon ❤️‍🔥
