remembered that my shepard/spacer shep has a still alive mom in the alliance according to ME2/3
also remembered that that character (katrine/caia) always has a sister uninvolved in the family's career military history
remembering she had to mourn her elder sister who just Disappeared for two years, and would have spent even longer knowing shepard isn't alive bc their alliance mom probably can't just tell a civillian doctor,

Emily: Aside from the events of the game, I have Vivian mess up Emily in a way that Vivian did not intend or foresee. Vivian would often tell Emily "You were put on this Earth to bring joy," by which she meant "You make other people happy just by being yourself." But Emily thought Vivian meant "Your purpose in life is to make other people happy," and took it to heart. Everyone, including Vivian, thought Emily was doing just fine because she seemed happy and "functional," and Emily has always thought it was normal and good to always suppress your own feelings and wants for the sake of others. She's way overdue for a burnout.
Effie: I decided that Effie had a little brother, Benedict, who died of diphtheria when they were both children. Effie insisted on helping to nurse Benny, and she still has nightmares of helplessly watching him struggle to breathe as the disease attacked his respiratory system. Failing to save him is perhaps the greatest regret of her life.
Katrine: I haven't put her through any traumatic backstory stuff (yet), but I have made some pretty ill-advised decisions for her as a Fallen London player. Shouldn't have trusted those devils....

Hello Crooked,
I'm actually not surrounded by relatives, as they are back in my home country. I do miss my brother and father fiercely, but I know that my place is here now. Prince Alaric is my betrothed, Prince Valko is his younger brother, and King Marrok is their father. I do feel a little out of place and homesick at times, but I am determined to make this place my home. Alaric is different than I expected, and I hope we shall have a tolerable and mutually beneficial, if not happy, marriage.

OC-tober Day 24 Katrine! No idea when I made her, but I remember I made her a dating simulator concept I had where the player would get to date a herbo vampire, socially awkward vampire hunter, and a nice lady who may or may not see ghosts. She was the vampire, if that wasn't clear.
