Since you answered that dream cast question (which A+ I love it except I also propose Eva as Cleves alt which would be very wild and good), I thought I might mention another fun casting game I like to play from time to time- have you ever considered a cast where the queens were played by women who are the same age as the queens were in the rhyme? So like Aragon played by an actress who is the age Aragon was when Henry divorced her, etc. it makes for some fun options.

Hey! Really like this one! We have some contradictory historical records on how old the queens were, so I’m going with Aragon 50, Boleyn 29/35, Seymour 28/29, Cleves 24/25, Howard 16-21, and Parr 30/31.

Aragon: Maia Nkenge Wilson (48) Boleyn: Loren Lott (30). Also really liked Courtnee Carter who should be about 29, but couldn’t confirm. Seymour: Vanessa Magula (28) Cleves: Veronica Otim (24/25) Howard: Samantha Rios (21). I also really liked Israeljah Reign and Kendyl Sayuri Yokoyama, who both should be about 21/22, but I couldn’t confirm their ages. Parr: Ari Afsar (31)

And just for fun....I also ran some numbers on which Six actors would be closest to the real life age of each queen. I prioritized actors who are currently in the show and currently principals. If there were multiple who fit that, I generally went for the actor who was the right age both currently and at debut. (Quick note: this was written a bit ago in advance of a few more recent cast announcements)

Aragon: No queens are anywhere near the age Aragon would have been, so I went with the closest, Chloe Hart (35). Boleyn: Leandra Ellis-Gaston (29). Maritimers gather to mark Remembrance Day, honour veterans

Maritimers across the region are marking Remembrance Day Friday as they honour the veterans who have fought for our country.

This the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic that in-person ceremonies are being held without restrictions.

Masks and social distancing are no longer mandatory, though they may be encouraged at some services.

🚨 STORY TIME! 🚨 I saw my first Broadway show at 8PM on Saturday, March 9th, 2002: #RENT at #TheNederlanderTheatre. And that night, my life was forever changed. My paternal grandmother took me for my 14th birthday. Two Christmas breaks prior I’d discovered and become obsessed with the cast recording when I spent a week celebrating Hannukah with one of my best friends from childhood & his family. I remember driving with them one night while it was playing and asking, “Is this a band?” I’d never heard rock music with scenes between the songs before, and definitely not scenes that were sung. It brought together singing and storytelling in a way I hadn’t heard before. Seeing the show was incredible and sparked my dream of one day performing on Broadway. - Fast forward... -
