Fyana and her bruitish-dog.

She was much easier then chirico, She's mostly just a re-texture of a anime-style base mesh. Her helmet is based on the same base mesh I made for him, I saved it seperatly before I stated adding details.

The transparent visor effect is slightly intricate, because she is rendered in workbench, and workbench doesn't allow transparency.

The basic trick is to flip the normals and use backface culling. Its mostly the color choices that sell the effect. But this method interfered with the grease pencil lineart generator that I used for her outline.

In order to get the correct outline in profile view I had to duplicate it, bake lineart just for the face with the off and then turn on the visor and bake the main line art. I still had some issues with the nose, but those lines were simple enough to do by hand.

the backgrounds and textures are painted in blender, substance painter, and clip studio. Im still figuring out a good workflow for a more stylized images. ideally I would only use one program, and while two is acceptable, three really seems excessive.

i started school again recently after taking a really long break to figure my shit out.

and my first assignment literally has me emailing the teacher because it feels like she's asking us to divulge trauma on a discussion board post for our peers to consume.

and that feels weird. and i'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt by emailing her to get more explanation about the assignment. but am excruciatingly terrified i'm gonna make an enemy out of her by mistake during my first week.

(also for context I'm taking an Intro to Literature course. No idea how that connects)

#the discussion post is called understanding humanity #and she gives us an npr snippet about codeswitching and asks us to discuss a time when we felt excluded or left out and why #like codeswitching itself is a trauma response #so i can't imagine why she'd think discussing why we felt excluded by our peers in the past wouldn't be us divulging trauma #its like thinking masking by autistic people isn't a detrimental trauma response like #and like I could talk about how I was bullied for being autistic and I had to learn how to mask when i was in elementary school but #no one fucking needs to know that about me like????#and i guess its a way to empathize with the black experience of code switching but like??

most awkward conversation ever today

#so for context im a radio major. and we only have 2 professors and both are adjuncts #and they want to hire a full time professor too. and one of the candidates is the other adjunct. whos not a great prof but that aside #that doesn't solve the problem. if we give her a raise essentially she still has to do newsline and also NPR things. we still only have #2 professors. and we NEED a third #i cant be stuck with this woman for every class for 3 more years #AND SHE CANT TEACH EVERY CLASS DURING THE SEMSTERS

Yo, imagine characterizing someones position as “America bad” and thinking thats a dunk and not a dub.

Its 2024. “America bad” is just a basic fact that everyone’s come to terms with. I’m sorry it feels icky but grow up.

I love when my local NPR station adds an artist's songs into their transitions before and after a piece about that artist, because most of the time they're talking about folk or country or pop or rock artists, but occasionally they have pieces on artists in other genres and then I get to hear rap on NPR at 9am on a Sunday and it's the best thing ever
