First Master of Spinjitzu first student was Nineko. Wu's first student was Morro. Lloyd's first student is Arin.

And the first two have something in common, they abandoned their teachers and became evil.

Nineko was an orphan who stole to survive until the First Master took her in and trained her. But when something was missing she blamed Nineko immediately, she assured that she didn't do it but they didn't believe her so she fled (or was expelled) from the monastery, years later being the main villain in one of the Spinjutzu Brothers books.

Morro, we all know his story. Orphaned boy from the streets that Wu took in at the monastery and trained him, things did not go well when destiny denied him being the green ninja so he fled to prove the opposite, years later returning from the dead to take revenge (and redeem himself). to the last second).

And then there is Arin, the orphan boy whose parents were taken from him by a "natural disaster" (can it be considered that way?) lost somewhere, living alone with his friend in a strange world until adolescence where he met his idol and who fell would become his teacher. He doesn't run away and turn evil like the other two, right?

Because something tells me that there is a pattern for the first students.

Nineko: I speak the truth. I didn't steal anything!...please trust me, I didn't do it.

Morro: Fate is wrong, I am the green ninja! You made me believe it!

Arin: But... you promised that we would find my parents.

I think Arin could fill the villain role or at least the resentful student vibe of the other two if you put him in the right situation.

Part of Arin's internal conflict is finding his parents, now, imagine that after the entire ninja team joins Lloyd leaves that issue a little aside, not because he doesn't care, he just doesn't realize it, plus he himself doesn't. He is necessarily close to his own parents. So Arin would have this thought of "you take me to look for your family, but you won't help me look for mine?" maybe not like that, but you get the idea, plus Arin seems stressed or angry in the new trailers, that could set off a little chain reaction.

I'm not saying that Arin would become a villain by any means, but it would be interesting to see him questioning or confronting Lloyd about something similar.

I read Spinjitzu Brothers

(Remember kids before we start this is all for shits and giggles so lets be nice okay? Great! You may continue!)

So who was gonna tell me Spinjitzu Brothers was gonna mess with me or were yall just gonna let me get dragged through the dirt with ZERO warning!

So I kinda sorta binged all the books in a singular night and... damn the FSM is an ASSHOLE! Like idk, if this is controversial but like genuinely he just seems like a not-very-great dude, like Wu is constantly thinking of how he'll get his father's approval and Garmadon is literally spiraling into a depression fueled by a fear of loneliness and turning evil.

Honestly, I find the whole concept of Spinjitzu Brothers because it's a KIDS BOOK where are heroes ultimately fail. They're supposed to be Ninjago cannon accurate and well we KNOW what happens to Garmadon, we know ultimately he ends up giving in to the Great Devourer somewhere down the line. We know the tea doesn't work and that their trip is pointless, all this trauma and effort is really just for nothing.

I find stories like that fascinating, usually stories like this are very centered around destiny and how it's set in stone. Honestly I think Ninjago does use destiny a bit (I mean their ship is called the Destinies Bounty which is kinda funny) like how even thogh Garmadon and Wu are going on the quest it's ultimitly meaningless because Garmadon does in fact sucumb to his fate, he turns evil, fights his son, becomes good only to be broght back to life fully evil. But what I find so interesting is the fact he STILL is trying to be good, destiny is beating him over the head repeatedly trying to morph him into what it wants and he's still pushing it away which I think is neat.

Also I find it interesting how Wu and Morro kinda sorta parallel the FSM and Nineko, aka taking in a kid and training them but ultimately leaving them bitter and angry. Honestly Wu and Garmadon's parenting makes so much more sense after Spinjitzu Brothers, like their father sucked, so they tried to do better but didn't fully grasp HOW so they messed up and sort of stumbled through parenting.

Anyways I'll probably have more thoughts coming soon-ish? Until then, eat, drink water, sleep and PEACE OUT!

I need Arin to, in a moment of desperation and fear, turn on the ninja, maybe aid Ras in Jordana's place, only for Sora to talk him down. Sora who’s known him the longest, Sora who’s trained with him since the beginning, Sora who faked object spinjitzu just so he would be motivated, Sora who desperately wants to see her friend happy again.

still disappointed we went nowhere with the whole “doubloon knows spinjitzu” thingy.

like doubloon was(?) just a regular human in canon so like he shouldn’t know it unless either:

A) Garmadon taught him. Why? No clue man Doubloon has 0 ties to him. Out of the FSM family it could only have been Garmadon since Wu states in the Book of Spinjitzu that he doesn’t know how or where Doubloon learned spinjitzu. The FSM was likely dead before Doubloon was a concept.

B) Nineko taught him. Again why..? Doubloon as a thief has no use to her or at the very least no use that would require spinjitzu. The only reason she taught the bros catjitzu was so they could get the jewel for her.

C) Asperra????? just no

or D) which somehow makes the most sense: he learned it in the other realm he was stuck in. which is also bogus because how the hell would other realms know what spinjitzu is UNLESS it’s the departed realm because dead EMs. Which leaves us once again with my favourite question in this post: WHY

why introduce such a character and then do nothing with that

#or E) Doubloon is the next Spinjitzu Master (TM) and rediscovered it himself #sorry lloyd but you're getting replaced with the objectively best character in united and the REAL FSM successor #the only other exception to the EM rule are: Nineko who learned from the FSM; Asperra who learned from Wu #Misako who presumably learned from both Wu and Garmadon #and fucking doubloon with no explaination #THE IMPLICATOINS THAT SOMEONE IS JUST OUT THERE TEACHING PEOPLE SPINJITZU #riu speaks #ninjago posting #doubloon ninjago #like i have my own explaination BUT that is just throwing doubloons canon backstory away
