5, 8, and 11 for Mori >w< 💕
5. How often do they masturbate
All the time, the man has excess energy to burn and masturbation is his home remedy for everything so. At least once a day.
8. Do they prefer ass, tits, thighs, shoulders or something else entirely as a characteristic they find sexy in others?
Mori loves tits and asses on any body and asses especially are a universal characteristic of deep appreciation. He’s surprisingly not picky, however, and would happily rut against soft thighs or a cute stomach with total satisfaction. He just likes sex and can find attractive parts on anyone.
11. Are they strictly monogamous or do they have a more open relationship?
Mori is def not monogamous but he won’t hide his side relationships either. He loves casual sex and likes to have many partners available to him but probably wouldn’t maintain deep intimate relationships with more than one person at a time and he definitely would be upfront with his situation. He likes fucking around but he doesn’t like hurting people or setting the wrong expectation. Conversely, Mori is also chill if you have multiple partners on the side. His only rule is that he doesn’t want to be kept a secret and if your relationship with him intensifies later, you can always readdress the situation like adults. He’s a party boy for sure but he’s generally responsible about other people’s feelings.

Mori Ougai’s belief as the boss is [...] “The boss stands on top of the organization, and at the same time, be the slave of all.” For the sake of the organization, the boss must always take the “logical optimal solution.” That is the duty of the boss. [...] “Therefore, no matter how much your heart aches, you have to ignore your personal feelings.”
Kafka Asagiri, for the BSD exhibition
On Mori and regret.
This man acts based on his perceived "optimal solution". It means relying on cold logic, detached from (his own and others') emotions. In that way, he fits right in as one of the smart characters of BSD, contrasting for example Dazai's way of working with/around people's feelings, and Fyodor's way of manipulating and twisting those feelings into monsters.
Mori remains cold, logical, distant, efficient. It meant disregarding Yosano's and the soldiers' deteriorating mental health during the war because the concept of an army that cannot be wiped out was too good. It meant following Natsume's plan and taking the old boss' place himself to fix Yokohama's underground and protect the city and its people. It also meant disposing of Mimic by sacrificing Oda in order to get the special ability business permit, despite (and perhaps because of) Dazai's attachment to the man.
The thing is, humans are not logical creatures, and will inevitably encounter conflicting emotions.
Tumblr media
(does this look like the face of a man without regrets to you?)
Mori in Dark Era tried to pass on to Dazai his practice of putting aside his own feelings for the sake of choosing the most efficient solution that will benefit the group. It backfired spectacularly, so much so even, that Mori regrets it to this day.
For the BSD exhibition, Asagiri wrote some individual character commentaries, all very interesting insights into their characters and the writing intentions. For Mori, here's what he wrote:
“He who fell out of the optimal solution” Mori Ougai’s belief as the boss is described in the novel “Dark Era” and “Dazai, Chuuya, Fifteen”. That is “The boss stands on top of the organization, and at the same time, be the slave of all.” For the sake of the organization, the boss must always take the “logical optimal solution.” That is the duty of the boss. There is an unspoken additional point to it. “Therefore, no matter how much your heart aches, you have to ignore your personal feelings.” We can catch a glimpse of that in this scene. [the ADA-PM alliance meeting] Mori’s expressions after “Burnt it.” and “Like what you did to your predecessor”, gave us a glimpse of his true feelings that were made sacrifices for the sake of the “logical optimal solution”. (By the way, it goes without saying that Dazai is inducing Mori’s thoughts by words that will make him regret the past. It is to make him decide to form an “alliance”.) source and translation: Popopretty
Tumblr media
(notice the inclusion of Hirotsu in this scene. Remember that later, Hirotsu suggests that Dazai knows why Mori did what he did to overthrow the old boss, which, in my opinion, is both a proof of Dazai's support in Mori's goal, and a reminder to uphold it.)
One of my favourite parts of the Dark Era light novel is a small scene during the epilogue that was not adapted into the anime. This is two weeks after Dazai defected:
Tumblr media
To quote Asagiri again, "Therefore, no matter how much your heart aches, you have to ignore your personal feelings." Mori is conflicted about the outcome of the Mimic incident. He holds in his hands the Silver Oracle he himself gave to Oda, and reflects on its purpose: to "help the man mentioned above without hesitation in the face of any and all trials". Didn't he fail to do just that with Oda? Didn't he set him up and sent him to his doom? Didn't he abandon him to his trial?
But he rationalizes the events by saying he got the permit they so badly needed. No matter if he sacrificed one of his men. No matter if he drove Dazai away. He accomplished his priceless goal. It was a total success.
And yet, he poorly folds a paper airplane with the very Silver Oracle he gave Oda, throws it, watches it crash immediately, and mourns the loss of his right-hand man, without ever moving on.
But we have a direct example of Mori expressing regret.
Tumblr media
The perception that Mori in BEAST is a completely different character than Mori is in canon, when that perception doesn't extend to any other character from that universe, rubs me the wrong way. The characters in BEAST are very similar to their canon selves, with some core traits getting a new twist. They are all one or two major life changes away from becoming these versions of themselves. As far as we know, Mori's only life-altering event was being forcefully removed from the Port Mafia by Dazai, and secretly put in charge of Atsushi's old orphanage.
Tumblr media
Mori unambiguously made that orphanage a better place, as stated by Atsushi himself. BEAST!Mori is a lot softer, vulnerable and honest. That Mori offers to be a father to Atsushi while he heals. He also expresses regret in not being able to help Dazai when he was in his care.
Tumblr media
I think it's very interesting, especially when knowing that Asagiri wrote both BEAST and Fifteen at the same time for the Dead Apple movie, because in Fifteen we have this:
Tumblr media
The beginning of the first chapter of Fifteen is a gold mine. It is narrated from Mori's point of view, the man of logic and calculations, and yet it is full of doubt. He is alone and struggling to fix everything with so many people against him. But, throughout this scene about grasping at the Port Mafia's power, there is also this secondary thought being woven in, of Mori having started to actually care for Dazai.
The teenager is scary to him, smart enough to be a threat should he decide to be done with all this and turn against him, and yet, he immediately (and with a hint of sadness) finds that Dazai reminds him of himself. This lonely, lonely man found a kindred spirit, bright enough to grasp any situation in seconds and prone to using an uncomfortable obsession to divert and keep you guessing his true intentions. Mori entered Mentor Mode™ then. He taught Dazai his ways, he shared his struggles and thought process, he fought tooth and nail to keep him alive.
So when he asked Dazai why he wanted to die, it was with the concern of someone who has started to care. It was with the mind of someone who is trying to prevent the worst by fixing the problem at its source.
Tumblr media
(translation: Reneray)
But it's also that self-projection/ability to relate that made him drive Dazai away, when he pushed too hard and forced Dazai to adhere to his optimal solution philosophy. Because Dazai cannot separate himself from his attachments, could not ignore his emotions like Mori does, and chose Oda over Mori's logic. From Dazai's point of view, that was betrayal. Mori and him were accomplices!
Dazai planted the idea that Mori was afraid of him taking over as boss, and Mori seems to agree with that thought (would it be because he feared for his life, or for Dazai's ability to replace him?) Yet, for a man afraid of his closest subordinate backstabbing him, he seems to be hanging on quite hard to the possibility of Dazai coming back, leaving his seat open to this day, inviting him back twice in the same arc, and...
Tumblr media
(yeah I used this picture at the start too. "I hAvE nO rEgReTs" he says)
Mori may try to convince himself he feels no regrets and no guilt over his own actions by weighting gains and losses objectively, but he still hurts and has a very hard time moving on. He's human despite his best efforts, prone to mistakes and doubts. He's lonely and wishes to impart his knowledge onto others. His cold logic has both helped him in fixing the city, and alienated him from some of the people he most cared about.
In a similar vein, should the ADA employee transfer be of topic again, and should Mori clash with Yosano again, I wish we get to see some similar conflicting emotions in Mori between the usefulness of Yosano's ability, and Yosano herself as a person. The war was 14 years ago, that's a long time, and I want to believe that counts for something.

Atsushi being transfered to the Port Mafia because Mori knows the promise he has.
He didn't have Akutugawa go after Atsushi simply because of his bounty. No, Mori knows Atsushi has so much promise, much like Dazai does.
But his time in the light has made Dazai weak, unable to push his apprentice to his full potential. Unable to set free exactly the kind of the monster that the boy was.
A monster Mori had every desire to unleash. All for the sake of protecting his city, of course as Mori's every action was about.
And Atsushi wasn't just a beast, he was the guide to the book. Everyone had all seen the page at work and that kind of power can't fall into the wrong hands.
In other words, Mori wants Atsushi to join him.
But he knows Atsushi will refuse. For Atsushi's loyalty lies with the Agency, an unwavering devotion to his friends.
Mori smirks.
Because to him that sounds like a challenge. Everyone, no matter how much light shines in them can be corrupted by darkness.
And Atsushi may be full of light, but he was born and raised into darkness. Pain was the boys oldest and closest companion after all.
He picks up some files, records that were once kept by Shibusawa, ones the government tried to hide.
Ones with the weretiger name printed on them. Now, to find out what worked, what were his limits.
Oh you'lll join me Atsushi Nakajima, that I can assure you.
I just know that you'll exceed every expectation I have.

I really loved the akutagawa x reader post. Could you maybe do one for dazai?
♡ Melancholy
Dazai Osamu x Reader
Desc: You comfort Dazai after a bad day. (fem reader)
TW/CW: angst, spoilers, harmful thoughts, dazai's past, abuse, might be ooc? not too familiar w bsd yet i'm new to the fandom :')
Dazai Osamu was a man who had lived through at least seven lifetimes in the span of one.
He'd seen things; things that nobody should've seen, but it didn't stop him from seeing them.
He saw Mori kill the old boss and rebuild Port Mafia anew; he was abused by him, and continued the cycle of abuse with Akutagawa, who eventually did it to Kyouka.
Oh, he was a bad man; a wicked, bad, person who had done unspeakable things under the orders of Mori (although some of those actions were not orders; rather, they were committed of his own will).
And although he has betrayed the mafia and joined the Armed Detective Agency, although he has saved countless lives (and the city of Yokohama, several times) he still sometimes finds himself thinking it wasn't enough.
Wasn't enough to wash his hands of the blood he's spilt; wasn't enough to cleanse his sins as they clung to him, digging their claws into his back and oozing inside, whispering in his ear that he'll never be good enough, never be able to do enough, never be able to save enough lives.
And sometimes, when you aren't around, he curls up into a little ball under his sheets and cries, sobbing into the comforter and choking as he tries to breathe (but miserably fails).
He wails into his blanket, shaking all over, hands trembling and eyes wide as he scratches at his throat and his chest, leaving red irritated marks as he tries to rid himself of his sins.
In the detective agency, he was Dazai; a charming, annoying, womanizer who never worked but always somehow managed to turn his share of the paperwork in.
At home, in the privacy of his bedroom, he was Osamu; a man who grew from the broken mold of his childhood, desperately picking up the pieces of his heart and gluing them back together only to fall apart at another one of Kunikida's scathing remarks or the looks from the Agency members varying from pitiful to condescending.
Osamu is sure that he's useless. A burden to the agency; kept around only as a pretty face for sore eyes.
He's been hurt much too much to let anyone know of his meltdowns; there was one close call when Atsushi questioned the splotchy patches of red on his face when he came out of the bathroom, but he managed to convince him it was the aftereffects of another poisonous mushroom and that he was fine, having already been treated by Yosano.
He's hurt too much to even want to fathom the idea of letting someone into his heart. No, what if they see the ugly creature of anxiety and fear and shun him, kicking the soft organ in disgust and making it crumble further into pieces?
You had been let in unwillingly; after worming your way into his heart, one day, things had changed.
You found him crying in your shared bedroom; chest heaving as he sobs into his palms, occasionally pawing at his bandages and tearing the soft fabric. He was so scared, that day, that moment; everything seemed to have been frozen as you two lock eyes, and for a moment, he's absolutely sure that his worst fears have come true, that you will shun him and kick him and sneer at him in disgust, before leaving and never coming back.
Oh, he was so surprised to learn that wasn't the case; when you had shushed him and pulled him into a soft, gentle, hug, and told him it would be alright, despite not knowing what he was crying about, he almost giggled; you didn't hate him? even after knowing his past? you didn't hate the monster that was in your arms?
Of course not, you told him. You're not a monster, Osamu, you murmur, hand carding through his hair as he shudders in your arms.
He blinks, once, twice; before fresh tears come into his eyes (these are ones of happiness) and a soft smiles curls his lips upwards as he lets his façade melt away and allows himself just this once to be rocked to a comfortable nap, knowing that if you've seen this side of him and still chose to embrace him that nothing would hurt him now because you were here, and you cared, and you forgave him for his sins.
And his heart twists in melancholy; there's something just on the tip of his tongue, something about his past that he can't quite piece together, but you press a soft kiss to the crown of his head and the thoughts and sadness melt away until he is not Dazai Osamu, the demon prodigy of the Port Mafia, the ability user who harnesses No Longer Human, and he is simply just a man who has found someone who cares about him.
And he feels a little branch grow out of his cold, dead heart, and he tells himself that maybe it wouldn't be so bad to be loved by you.

shii bro this one was long asf... uhmmmm i kinda got carried away :') wHOoPsiE
still very new to the bsd fandom so i apologize if my little scrunkly is ooc

Arc Plays Games: Nora to Toki no Koubou: Kiri no Mori no Majo (NDS)
(apparently in English that's something like "Nora the Time Witch")
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm gonna try something and try to keep track of all the games I play this year. First up is this extremely cute little that honestly got me through being sick as hell over the holiday. It is kind of perfect as a game for your brain at 40%.
Nora is a DS game that has better "Cozy" feel than most games under the cozy game genre. Basically, Nora (the character) is a chronomancer, so she can do time magic. She's a rookie so she's supposed to be learning how to get good at chronomancy. She's sent to a lil cottage in the woods to bone up on her skills.
The house and garden are extremely precious. You can redecorate the cottage, move furniture and crafting items around, change the walls and floor. The garden has friends and you can lure in cute creatures.
Tumblr media
The main loop of the game is in three parts. First is making items to fulfill requests for townsfolk and friends. You'll be asked to make a certain item, and have to figure out the best way to do so with time magic, dismantling raw materials, and processing materials into new stuff. You start off with just a work table and the time magic thingie, then get more and more crafting options like sewing tables and smokers and stuff.
Then you turn in those items and get other items in return and make people happy!
Tumblr media
There's also foraging, bc obviously you need materials to make stuff.
There's a whole map with multiple places to go and each of those locations has different materials to gather.
Tumblr media
When you arrive at a location, there are interactable things that will give you different materials. Some are sparkly and also give you random effects, like increased rarity, more items, or monsters.
You might want to grab the sparklies first to try and booth the number of materials you get, but on the other hand you might find a monster instead.
Tumblr media
Battles are the third pillar. There are a SHOCKING amount of party members, and you can pick and choose teams depending on what you want.
Want to make sure you survive really tough monsters? Go with the errant knight lady and the big friendly city watch guy. Want to get more materials? Go with the soft-spoken clinic worker who can spot more herbs of the 12 year old shop girl who fucking LOVES rocks and can find you more rocks. But the clinic girl isn't great in a fight, so you gotta be careful.
Tumblr media
Party members include: a weird mercenary dude who just wants to be the cool knight lady, the buff city watch man who has tea parties and tries to kill monsters with stale bread, the clinic lady who secretly can deadlift a tree, aforementioned 12 year old who thinks rocks are just soooooo cool, the hot knight lady who i think has the hots for Nora but i'm not sure, a Capitalist, a thief who kinda sucks, and a mascot character.
Tumblr media
I weirdly ADORE the economy/shop system in this game.
Sometimes when you are selling off old equipment or excess materials, the shopowner will counteroffer your request for money with rare items instead.
YOU CAN DO THIS TOO. Most of the stock in the shops can be bought outright OR you can choose "Buy with items" and offer up stuff in exchange for the item you want.
Shops have normal stock but also special stock you can only get by trading the right materials. The armory guy has swords and stuff BUT if you want the good shit, bring him a dragon scale instead.
I bounce off a lot of these kind of soft, cute games because they don't feel like they have depth but this game sooooo does. I would say the only downside is when you struggle to make a certain items or find a certain material, you... sometimes just gotta figure it out, because this game was an oddball Japanese-only Atlus title and the fan translation isn't super well-known, there isn't a robust wiki to refer you. Just figure it out!
Anyway, solid fucking 4 out of 5 on this game. If you can emulate DS games, you can locate this one pretty easily if you know where to look. (And if you don't know where to look, send me an ask off-anon and I will direct you a bit.)
gd i maybe need to try an atelier game...........

Why Raleigh Becket isn't a himbo.
So I keep seeing people calling Raleigh Becket a "himbo" with a "golden retriever personality" and y'know what... I gotta say... mmm no, no he really isn't. And I'm gonna go over some (but definitely not all) reasons why. Now before I begin, I want to make it very clear that I'm saying you have to hate the ground Raleigh Becket walks on, or that he's some kind of irredeemable monster. I'm just going to go over why he just... isn't a himbo. Like, not even remotely. Raleigh Becket is pretty self-absorbed. Raleigh Becket: I was 15 when the first Kaiju made land in San Francisco. By the time tanks, jets and missiles took it down six days and 35 miles later three cities were destroyed. Tens of thousands of lives were lost. We mourned our dead, memorialized the attack, and moved on. And then only six months later the second attack hit Manila. The movie opens with a narration from Raleigh Becket that really only makes sense if you assume he's projecting his own experience onto the rest of the world. Maybe Raleigh moved on in less than six months, but for millions of people who had everything they knew about the world violently overturned, they'd still be in shock and have tons of unanswered questions.
Himbos don't always understand what's going on with people, but it's not for lack of effort. A real himbo would have been trying to comfort the people around them, and would be well aware that many of them are still confused and hurting. A real himbo might have said something like, "A lot of people died and we all tried to move on, but it was only six months before another monster attacked Manila." Or maybe "We were told to move on, but in only six months it happened again." Raleigh Becket is way too eager to prescribe violence for interpersonal problems. Hercules Hansen: You can blame me for that one. I've raised him on my own. He's a smart kid, but I never knew whether to give him a hug or a kick in the ass. Raleigh Becket: With respect sir, I'm pretty sure which one he needs.
So, Hercules Hansen raised Chuck as a single father while serving in a war. It shouldn't be hard to figure out that Chuck might have some attachment issues and general trauma from growing up in a world where giant city-destroying monsters were an omnipresent fact of life. Nonetheless, Raleigh clearly doesn't think Chuck needs a hug - the look on his face as he says this line is one of pure contempt. Later on, he actually does kick Chuck's ass. This isn't himbo behavior. A himbo would have looked at Herc and said, "I wish my dad had hugged me more" or "things were always better after me and my dad hugged it out." A himbo might have even taken Chuck aside and said, "hey dude, I hear you're having a hard time with your dad, wanna get some burgers?"
Raleigh Becket is awfully condescending toward Mako Mori. Mako Mori: I think you're unpredictable. You have a habit of deviating from standard combat techniques. You take risks that endanger yourself and your crew. I don't think you're the right man for this mission. Raleigh Becket: Wow. Thank you for your honesty. You might be right. But one day, when you're a pilot, you're gonna see that in combat, you make decisions. And you have to live with the consequences. That's what I'm trying to do. Raleigh Becket: Okay. We're not in the simulator now, Mako. Remember, don't chase the rabbit. Random Access Brain Impulse Triggers. Memories. Just let them flow, don't latch on. Tune them out. Stay in the Drift. The Drift is silence. Raleigh Becket: All right, Mako. Get ready, this is for real!
Mako Mori is a jaeger technician (she worked on repairing Lady Danger) and engineer (she designed Lady Danger's sword), and she wants to be a pilot more than anything. Raleigh talks to her as if she's never heard of drifting before, and like she isn't already aware that fighting kaiju is hellishly risky. Also, his facial expression when talking to her is very frequently that of someone talking to a young child. This isn't himbo behavior; this is "Prince Charming when he's the villain" behavior. Real himbos are respectful, and respectful behavior includes assuming basic competence and treating adults like adults. If Raleigh had been a himbo, he would have trusted Mako to know what she was doing already. In the conn-pod he might said something more like, "Okay, gotta stay in the moment, let the memories flow by, don't chase the rabbit, don't get caught in the Random Access Brain Impulse Triggers..." while talking more to himself than Mako. Also, if Raleigh was actually a himbo, he might have responded to Mako's earlier statement about him being "unpredictable" with something like, "I know I've done things that can't be fixed, but I'm hoping I can do better this time." So yeah. Basically, Raleigh Becket isn't a himbo, and he doesn't have a "golden retriever personality." He's just blond and conventionally attractive. Ya know, kind of like this guy is:
Tumblr media
Again, not saying that you have to look at Raleigh like he's some kind of irredeemable villain or anything, but like, stop conflating "blond and conventionally attractive" with "himbo" or "golden retriever personality."

Dazai and Chuuya sleeping next to each other doesn't sound like much of a shock to most. In fact, it sounds pretty normal (not that either of them had much experience with normality). But it didn't feel that way to Dazai, quite the contrary, in fact, something as tainted as he doesn't deserve something as pure as Chuuya to even be near him, although it seemed Chuuya disagreed quite strongly considering how they were positioned now, Chuuya asleep with Dazai laid next to him staring at the ceiling.
Insomnia was nothing new to Dazai, it had been a normal occurrence for him for years. What had also become a more normal occurrence was for him to have peace of mind, peaceful for Dazai anyway. His life had begun to stabilize more than he ever thought was possible. He's been sober for weeks from alcohol (which had been his main addiction although he has taken other things from time to time) and has been clean off of self-harm for a while as well.
Now, of course, Dazai hadn't reached this point alone. He believed he could never have done it alone, he gave any and all credit to Chuuya for making it this far (not that he would admit it). His mind was a dark place, such intense darkness that he couldn't make it through alone, not without a small light to guide him through (that was Chuuya). The sun he couldn't live without, now that he's felt the warmth of it.
Despite giving all credits to staying clean to Chuuya, he still could hold up on his own on the nights he couldn't sleep. He predicted what had been happening recently to come again, Stare at the ceiling and wait for sleep to come with the sound of Yokohama's nightlife to keep him company and his mind somewhat quiet.
His expectations had already managed to have been proven incorrect. Although rare, quiet nights in Yokohama did happen, and it seemed that night was one of them. It was as if the entire city paused to give him time to ponder over how he'd been practically forced out of his old habits after officially getting together with Chuuya and moving in with him.
Chuuya had hit his thoughts once again. The thing that seemed to be the only constant in Dazai's life ever since they were 15. He was what kept him going for a while, whether it was up to him or not, but that was a story for another time.
Dazai started to ponder throughout his life when he first met Chuuya, when he was still with Mori, in the mafia, the difference between now and then was more than obvious to him, and his hate for Mori only grew as he continued to think it all over.
He hated Mori, that much could be seen as obvious, but what he hated most was being compared to him. Although he knew the similarities did exist he would never admit it, not out loud, nor to himself.
All he ever heard from people talking about Mori was how much of a monster he was. And Dazai knew, deep, deep, down, that he was exactly the same. After all, what could a monster raise but 1 of its own? No matter how much he tried to convince himself he was a good person now and that he was making Oda proud, he couldn't help the little voices in his head telling him otherwise.
Akutagawa was living proof of all of what they always said to him, the abusive, ruthless, emotionless and monstrous part of him was what caused Akutagawa to be the way he was now, and if he had changed you'd think he'd try to fix it by now, right?
And there was that word, "emotionless". For a long time (most of his memorable life, really) he was a numb being, an enigma that found living too exhausting yet wasn't in a full rush to meet his demise. Although he did attempt suicide in the past (quite often might I add), he never did it because he necessarily wanted death in particular, to him death was his only permanent release of life's burdens. He wandered the world in search of a reason to live, to no longer want such a release, and he told himself that if he did find that reason then he'd live. And if he didn't then he could try suicide again, if he died then he died, if not then he'll continue living for a while longer.
A thing that neither wanted to live nor die. The thing that wandered humanity as if its one of its own. The thing that hid among humans and acted as if it were one of their kind. The thing that believed itself to be something less than human. The thing haunted by his past actions but couldn't bring himself to find a reason strong enough to have him determined to end his life
That was Dazai.
And he hated himself for it.
His gaze travelled to the sleeping figure beside him.
He couldn't help questioning how something so pure, so human could claim to love a thing such as himself. How could he look him in the eyes and tell him he loved him and mean every word he says, and even if he didn't, the fact that he could even look at him without a look of utter disgust was already so much more than something like him deserved? How he could love him when he despised himself so much?
He couldn't understand, or maybe he didn't want to, who can tell?
His thoughts wandered on and with that, he couldn't take lying still like that any longer. His trip to the bathroom was a quick one and one he was used to.
He didn't realise he had opened and closed the door to the bathroom until he slid down it. How did he get here? He wasn't fully sure himself.
He didn't need the lights on to find the blades he'd hidden in there. It was practically muscle memory at this point.
As he removed the false bottom from the cabinet to grab one of the sharper blades he owned he couldn't help but notice the feeling of numbness he so often experienced, if it can even be called a feeling. The feeling he believed robbed him of whatever little humanity he once may or may not have had.
So forth, he dragged the blade across his skin and watched the blood pour from it, he couldn't help thinking that this feeling of pain was the closest thing he could ever come to being human. So with no regrets, he continued to drag the blade across his skin as he watched the blood pour from his wounds with morbid fascination.
{–} - {–} - {–} - {–} - {–}
Chuuya woke up to a cold and empty bed. He sat up rubbing his eyes glancing to the side to see the clock next to him brightly blaring that it was nearing 2 am. He started glancing around him looking for where his boyfriend could possibly be at 2 am. He saw the door to their bedroom was open.
With slight dread, he got up and turned the hallway light on, and made his way through the apartment in search of Dazai.
His instincts led him to the bathroom door. With a long breath in, he reached for the bathroom door knob and turned it with a slight stiffness that only showed in these situations.
What he saw was nothing new, nor was it the worst he's walked in on. That didn't make it any less hard to see.
He was sitting in the corner of the room, leaning on the wall next to him, face buried in his knees with his arms next to him. They were bleeding at a steady rate with the blade on the ground next to him.
His first reaction to the situation was to slowly walk towards Dazai and quietly take the blade from next to him.
"Dazai.."
His name was spoken quietly and with a tone of softness mixed in with it. Dazai knew he was there, he heard him turn the hallway lights on, he also heard his footsteps heading towards him and the door opening, despite Chuuya's attempt to do it quietly.
The matter of fact was, he was ashamed. He couldn't look at him like this, not after everything he's done to help, only for him to throw it away so easily. So he didn't respond, not that Chuuya was expecting much of a response.
Chuuya let out a small sigh and opened the bathroom cupboard to grab bandages and disinfectant. None of his cuts needed stitches this time, something Chuuya was glad about.
He reached into the cupboard, grabbed what he needed and turned back to the younger who didn't move or say anything since he walked in.
He gently grabbed Dazai's wrist and pulled his right arm. Dazai didn't resist and let him grab his arm and start cleaning his cuts. He cleaned it and started bandaging that arm.
He had a lot of practice in dealing with wounds from both treating his own after missions and having to patch up Dazai on occasions like these, so he knew how to do this properly.
It didn't take him long to finish the first arm before grabbing the other and repeating the process. Dazai didn't even look up at him yet, his face was still where it was.
When Chuuya finished patching up Dazai's other arm he let it go and sat next to him.
"Want to talk about what happened?", in the same soft tone he had spoken earlier.
How did he manage the calm tone? He wasn't sure himself. Not when he knew that someone he cared about so much was suffering and that there was nothing he could do to magically make it all better. It was a hard pill to swallow for Chuuya, but despite that, he'll still do the best he can to try to help the idiot he loved so much.
Dazai still wasn't looking at him nor did he show any signs of listening to him.
"Dazai, can you hear me?"
Dazai finally reacted and lifted his head slightly with his gaze still fixed on his knees. His eyes flashed Chuuya's way for a short moment before looking back down almost instantly.
In the moment he looked at Chuuya, he could see how empty his eyes and his overall expression looked.
Chuuya reached out to touch him but his hand halted halfway.
"Is it ok if I touch you?"
A small nod was the first proper response Chuuya had gotten throughout this whole ordeal. So with the consent given he placed his hand in Dazai's hair and started running his fingers through dark fluffy curls.
Dazai moved his head so the side of his face was on his knees, the other facing Chuuya. His gaze was fixed somewhere else, his expression was distant as it seemed his mind was wandering off somewhere else.
Chuuya moved his hand from Dazai's hair to cup his cheek and lightly brushed it with his thumb. Dazai's eyes travelled back to Chuuya slowly. They looked at him for a moment before going back to staring at the ground between them.
"..I'm sorry.."
Dazai's voice was barely audible, something just above a whisper. Chuuya barely managed to catch it.
"You don't have to apologise, you know"
"Stop it"
His tone only sharpened slightly as he looked up Chuuya's way again. And although his tone held a glint sharpness behind it all that Chuuya could see in his eyes was a broken plea.
"It's okay, I'm right here"
"Stop it"
His voice only increased in volume as something else more desperate mixed in with his plea. What it was? Chuuya wasn't sure. But what he did know was that Dazai needed him at the moment, whether he was willing to take the help or not, it was obviously needed.
Chuuya could guess what this was about, both from past experiences and from having a slight grasp of Dazai's mindset when it came to situations like these.
"You deserve care, Osamu. You're no less deserving of help than anyone else. You're human, Osamu, like anyone else you may make mistakes but you can work past them, but you might need help from someone else and that's okay. I'm here to help you when that happens."
A single tear rolled and hit the ground in front of Dazai. It soon became 2, and those 2 soon became 3, and so on and so forth. His gaze was just fixed on the ground seemingly having travelled there while Chuuya was talking.
Only after the 3rd tear did he slowly lift a shaky hand to his face to realise that he really was crying. It was then that Chuuya pulled him into a tight embrace with a hand guiding Dazai's head to his shoulder as he once again started running his fingers through Dazai's hair. The other hand rested on his back drawing shapes into it.
Dazai returned the embrace as he sobbed quietly into Chuuya's shoulder. Throughout the entire thing, Chuuya never let Dazai go. He held him tightly and only brought him impossibly closer and whispered reassurances to him.
By the end of the night, the both of them decided to stay awake for a little while longer before Dazai inevitably fell asleep from the exhaustion from the events of what is now the night prior.
Chuuya had yet again managed to be Dazai's reason to keep going, whether voluntary or not. Dazai wondered how he did it but didn't get to ponder on it too much as he started dosing off in the arms of the one he loves.
The one who yet again managed to save him from himself, the drug he'd been addicted to since he was 15. That was Chuuya. And when he woke up that morning with the sun shining brightly he knew that today would be a better day.

Bar Stella Abyss details more patrons, cocktails, survival tips, and digital mini soundtrack
Gematsu Source
(Hit the 30 image limit, so you'll need to check their site for the rest)
Tumblr media
Nippon Ichi Software has released new information and screenshots for roguelike strategy RPG Bar Stella Abyss introducing patrons Maia, Kaji, Kilka, and Saotome, a selection of cocktails, dungeon survival tips, and the digital mini soundtrack.
Get the details below.
■ What is Bar Stella Abyss?
Bar Stella Abyss is a roguelike strategy RPG in which you strengthen your party with the power of the constellations while exploring a dungeon in another world that changes form each time you play. In addition to exploring the other world, the story will unravel as you share drinks with the peculiar patrons of the bar “Stella Abyss.”
Wanderer (voiced by Nanako Mori) A wanderer who lost their face and arm.
Tumblr media
The protagonist, who arrives at the hidden bar Stella Abyss after following a flyer floating in the wind through the city at night. In order to get back the face and arm they lost in the Drunken World, they must go back and forth between the bar and other world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
■ The Patrons of Stella Abyss
To make your way through this Drunken World filled with powerful monsters, you will need allies who fight alongside you. Here we will introduce some of the Stella Abyss patrons who appear in the Drunken World, where only those who “lost something important” are said to reach, and lend their strength to Wanderer.
Maia (voiced by Riho Sugiyama) A bewitching woman with a veil of secrets.
“Secrets are the spices that make life appealing… are they not essential to living a happy life?”
Tumblr media
A mysterious woman who keeps everything secret, including her work, residence, and age. Whenever she has a conversation, she comes off as eager to know everything about the person she is talking to, while skillfully avoiding any discussion about herself. Despite her secrecy and masking of her true feelings, she does have a caring side that tries to lend a hand to the troubled Wanderer.
Tumblr media
Kaji (voiced by Hiroshi Watanabe) A smart businessman with a mature charm.
“Well then, let’s have a toast… to meeting each other.”
Tumblr media
An elite businessman who always has a smile on his face and acts gentlemanly. He naturally captivates others with his advanced communication skills and mature charm. He is friendly with everyone he meets and worries about Wanderer, who is caught up in a predicament.
Tumblr media
Kilka (voiced by Mikoi Sasaki) A mysterious beauty who wanders the Drunken World.
“I’m not used to things like conversing in a place such as this.”
Tumblr media
A woman who works with Tipsy to explore the Drunken World for a certain purpose. Even in Stella Abyss, her eye-catching beauty has secretly garnered attention, but she is not one to actively engage with the other patrons. She has a quiet personality and responds in a curt manner when spoken to. She is not a fan of alcohol.
Tumblr media
Saotome (voiced by Takaki Otomari)
A drunken man with a sharp tongue.
“You must be quite honest to go through the trouble of questioning my lies.”
Tumblr media
A curt, self-proclaimed freelance writer with a drinking problem who frequents the Drunken World. He has a blunt attitude and is often sarcastic. He uses rough language with Wanderer when they first meet, but his phrasing shows a high level of intelligence and insight.
Tumblr media
■ A Mysterious Corpse in the Darkness of Its Heart: Dark Clouds Gather Over the Bar
During the time you spend together, the patrons of Stella Abyss will tell you many things. Wanderer’s conversations with them will open and, at times, close their hearts, revealing the darkness within them and their other faces.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And a serious incident that occurred at Stella Abyss some time ago. —A terrible incident occurred at Stella Abyss, which was thought to be a safe place…?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
An unsettling shadow hides in the midst of your conversations with patrons. A mysterious incident that occurred at the bar; the reason why Wanderer was robbed of their body… All may be revealed in the Drunken World.
■ Real Cocktails Recreated In-Game
Bar Stella Abyss features real cocktails like “gin and tonic” and “cassis orange,” which will aid you in your quest to clear dungeons. As you progress through the story, more cocktails will unlock in the cocktail tree, with an approximate total of 300 cocktails. Here we will introduce a small selection.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Screwdriver: Level Difference Power-Up
This classic cocktail increases the amount of damage you deal when you are weaker than the enemy.
Tumblr media
Mohito: Poisoned Status Ailment Infliction Level-Up
A refreshing cocktail made with fresh lime and mint. It inflicts a stronger poison than normal when you inflict the poisoned status ailment.
Tumblr media
Picador: One-Turn Stats-Up
The coffee liqueur suppresses the tequila flavor, making this an easy-to-drink cocktail. It significantly increases your stats for just one turn at the start of battle.
Tumblr media
■ Tips on Surviving the Drunken World
Here we will introduce some tips on surviving the Drunken World, an unknown dungeon where dangerous enemies lurk. You will be able to clear dungeons more seamlessly if you know how to choose the right “Stella” to strengthen your skills, as well as what to look out for while exploring.
Tumblr media
Stack Stella to Level Them Up
If you obtain the same Stella as one you already have set, you can stack it on top of the existing Stella in the same slot to level it up. Stella can be strengthened without altering the number of available slots, so whenever you obtain a duplicate Stella, it is a good idea to stack them and create a more powerful Stella. —By increasing a Stella’s level, both its stats and amount of MP it consumes will increase. So be mindful as Skill Stella will not activate if you lack the required MP.
Tumblr media
Collect the Same Constellations to Get Bonuses
Each Stella belongs to one of the 13 constellations of the zodiac, such as Capricorn and Virgo. By setting multiple Stella of the same constellation to one character, that character will receive power-up bonuses called “Stars.” —The contents of a Star varies per constellation, but they always carry an effect and increase the character’s capabilities.
Tumblr media
Watch Your Energy Consumption
In the Drunken World, you will consume “Dream Energy” based on your actions. When your Dream Energy reaches zero, your entire party’s HP will begin to gradually decrease. While it is a good idea to explore every nook and cranny of the dungeon, be sure to keep an eye on your energy as well. —Dream Energy can be recovered through items, as well as at rest areas alongside HP and MP.
Tumblr media
An Eerie Siren Signals the Arrival of a Formidable Foe
If you stay on the same floor for too long, an eerie siren will sound, warning you of an impending attack by “Buzzerman.” Buzzerman’s strength sets him apart from other enemies, so it is a good idea to make your way to the next floor quickly before the encounter. —Buzzerman’s overwhelming strength can take you out before you even have a chance to retaliate.
Tumblr media
Customize Equipment to Make It Your Own
Depending on the rarity of the equipment, empty slots can be used to strengthen it. At the “Forge” located in the dungeon, you can use the items in your possession as materials to add effects to your equipment that enhance their performance. —Through repeated strengthening at the Forge, you can create equipment with numerous additional effects.
Protect Important Items by Placing Them in the “Storage Chest”
If you run out of energy while exploring, you will lose all items in your possession. However, items stored in the “Storage Chest” located in the dungeon will not be lost, and can be retrieved from the chest in Stella Abyss.
Gain the Upper Hand in Battle with Preemptive and Link Attacks
By attacking an enemy on the field, you can begin the battle with the first move despite the enemy’s speed. However, if an enemy attacks you from behind on the field, the battle will begin with the enemy going first. When an ally attacks an enemy, if another ally is positioned in a way that they can reach they enemy with an attack, there is a fixed chance that a Link Attack will trigger, leading to a follow-up attack. Link Attacks do not consume a turn, so they can be used to more quickly eliminate enemies when activated.
Treasures Hidden in Fields Full of Enemies
In the Drunken World, which changes each time you visit, you may come across fields full of enemies known as the “Spirits Hall.” By defeating the swarm of enemies that attack all at once, you will have a chance to obtain a treasure chest. If you think you can handle it, then give it a try. —When fighting against a swarm of enemies, positioning is more important than ever.
■ First-Print Bonus: Digital Mini Soundtrack
First-print copies of the physical edition of Bar Stella Abyss includes a download code for a digital soundtrack featuring eight background music tracks from the game.

  ──  𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐒.   : 014. one piece
I. PRE-MARINES.
akina's father was a powerful man in the town , the marines and government relied on him partly to make their connections and pour money in their throats for the operations . he had a ship , and an attic room in their mansion full of unique treasures brought from the seas , gifted to him either by marines or pirates he'd been secretly working with . and one day , when akina was around five or six , she found a devil's fruit in one of the chests . ate it , yet nothing bizarre happened . nobody even knew what was inside the chest .
growing up , she learned self defense with twin blades . a traditional war weapon of her ancestors that had to be taught how to handle and respected . marines would come and go to their mansion , for dinner , for meetings , and she's never been interested in one single one of them . nor lingered to chit chat for more than five minutes .
it happened long years after the pirate king's treasure was free to be taken by anyone who's lucky , it fascinated akina and she couldn't think of anything else . her father didn't sail to the seas to find the treasure per say , it was a trip , a short circle around the island and they'd come back to that boring city . but the weather didn't seem to agree , it dragged them further from their home , and toward the heart of the sea . someone had pushed akina off the railing when the ship was waving like a mad man , caught in the wild tides and sharp roars of the lightning .
the water was pure black , silent , and akina didn't know how to swim . she resurfaced a few times , screaming for help , the captain tried to throw a rope . her family was inside their cabins , safe and sound , yet it was akina who came out to enjoy the glory of the storm . no matter how the captain tried to order her to go back , she jumped on a railing with a grip on a rope and stuck her tongue out at him . she regrets it now , drowning in the cruelty of the ocean . . . yet something else happens . when akina was almost unconscious , the gift of the devil's fruit ; a whirlwind , waterspout and in the middle of it all akina's unconscious body floating on the air .
when she opened her eyes , she was laying on the warm sand , sun grinning down upon her and a piece of thick wood under her . the marines found her , not knowing what happened to the ship and her family . and akina didn't tell them , she lied , as a talent she's learned from young age . ' a sea monster caught us , only i survived . ' and they had no choice but to believe the sole survivor of that tragedy . her family's funeral was almost as great as the death of the pirate king , everyone from everywhere came to give their condolences to akina mori , the one who had apparently tamed a sea monster — how ridiculous .
nicknames : little sparrow , my little angel ( by her father , until she was older than five perhaps ) , dove , darling girl .
II. WITH THE MARINES
the marines commander gave her a few weeks to mourn her family , to adjust to the solitude of her new lifestyle . in a house , big enough to devour her , all alone with a gardener and a cook .
but after a while , he was suggesting ( – it was a command , akina couldn't see another option than saying yes to it ) , that she'd come with them to the sea . to protect the ship , from sea monsters . perhaps because he didn't believe her lie , or he was simply trying to punish her for surviving and not letting their wealth pass over to him . the commander would be more than happy to accidentally throw her in the sea again to have all the wealth and riches to himself as her father's will mentioned . first anita , then akina , and then , the commander himself .
she'd aimlessly wander around the ship , stare at the water at nights , hope to see a siren . she'd try not to come close to any of them , she'd miss home and hate being ordered around so casually .
nicknames : princess , little girl , monster-tamer , miss mori , witch .
III. POST MARINES ; THE RED PIRATE .
she's grown tired of their rashness , of their attitude . of their violence . the plan to leave them was much different in her head , than what really happened .
a pirate attacked them one day in the heart of the sea . a red rose on the front of a very pale ship , their flags deep red , their captain as handsome as an angel . andro was his name , or the name he gave akina when he introduced himself . she was hiding under a few corpses , she has no idea how he found her , but he told her he'd celebrate his victory against the marines by taking the infamous monster tamer to his own ship , as a trophy , as protection better than anything he'd ask for .
the man's heart was easier to pierce than his ship , akina was more fascinated by his words and the beauty of his ship , rather than anything . he was free , he was telling stories about freedom . the way to his bedroom was a little troublesome , but the crew learned to respect her too after she killed their captain in his sleep and declared leadership ; as a ' witch ' , as a ' monster tamer ' , who had more chance against three men left alive than a whole crew .
later she learned the ways of the piracy from the young navigator , all other men killed and thrown to the sea thanks to her dead captain's guns . now she roams in the seas with the kid , bas , who learned to care for her like his older sister . the first and only crewman akina ever got .
nicknames : red pirate , siren , snake tongue , double trouble ( her twin blades ) , oi cap cap ( bas )
the second revelation of her powers happen when her navigator is killed . on a small island where they stopped to resupply , by a drunk man who keeps spouting poison . ' a woman can't lead shit ! ' akina's rage was silent , but her powers didn't accept it ; the ground shook . she held the boy in her arms , remembered what he told her one evening when akina spoke about why she was called a monster tamer in the first place . the real story . ' captain , please don't do it again . ' but now she could , now she was allowed to kill everyone in that town , destroy the ground . let it swallow them all before closing again . that was when akina realized , her powers were still there . just waiting for an opportunity to come out and cause chaos and surprisingly , it didn't please her at all .
all alone on the sea , she was easier to be caught .
IV. MONKEY LUFFY
luffy finds her binded to a tall stick in the middle of the town . the marines were less kind with her , and the commander had successfully gathered her father's wealth and power . no one would nor could stop him from executing akina mori , and he probably had every right to do so after hearing about her crimes .
it was luffy's kindness that saved her , and a little bit of recklessness . akina didn't let a marine touch him when she was free , but didn't hesitate to call him an idiot for doing such a dangerous thing . ' some people are worth being a little stupid for . ' was what he responded with , that stuck with akina forever it seems .
unlike the other two , akina was less opposed to the idea of being part of his crew , and calling him her captain .
nicknames : mori mori , siren eyes , just akina .
LONG STORY SHORT ; she accidentally killed her family during a thunderstorm in the sea because of her powers , after eating the devil's fruit . and later became the ' protector ' of marines against sea monsters because she lied about her survival from the thunderstorm and told them a sea monster caught them . a pirate attacked the marines and took her to his ship , which she manipulated and killed in his sleep . taking over the ship w little to no crew and once again getting caught by the marines after years because she lost the only crewmate she got .
so they bound her and wanted to hang her the day after luffy came and saved her . now she's in his ship , and she's loving the fact that she's not the boss .
      additional information ;
akina's pirates were called red pirates when she was a captain .
her powers are unknown , to her and everyone else . they only appear when she's experiencing extreme emotions of rage and fear ; otherwise she's just as normal as i am . honestly .
it's usually destruction , nothing small , so it probably hurts or kills the ones she actually cares for too .
she has twin blades .
after the incident with bas , she tries to stay away from deeper connections in case something happens to them and she unknowingly causes such mass destruction again .
there's a scar on her left brow .
she has a snake tattoo on the small of her back , and a pretty ' A ' under her left eye .
loves wearing tiny rings .
THE FRUIT SHE ATE : boom boom fruit . / WEAPON : twin blades , twin guns she stole from her dead pirate lover . / COLOR ; red . / LOYALTY ; marines ( formerly ) , andro ( formerly ) , luffy . / PIRATE NICKNAME ; the red pirate .

ROUND 1 MATCH 97
Tumblr media
Evrard propaganda:
“In a game full of political intrigue and backstabbing, Evrard is one of the few romance options that is entirely for love. He’s a commoner. Elodie gains nothing politically by marrying him, which actually makes marrying him rather difficult as either her approval has to be high enough that nobody cares if her marriage doesn’t benefit the kingdom OR he has to ingest poison on Elodie’s behalf. I will attempt to marry him every time or die trying. (I die trying a lot.)”
Mori propaganda:
“Do you like stinky cat men? Meet Mori. A shameless punk rocker who is in a band and turns into a bakeneko. He is awful (affectionately). I can't describe him better than this.
Tri City Monsters is an 18+ game coming out next year about 3 ROs who are on skipping out on their demon deals and on the run from Enforcers.”

Donation Drive Fill
Fill #2.  @mxgicthot ‘s adorable oc Sachie and Mori with some dirty banter, revenge for teasing, inside jokes in Japanese (as they’re both bilingual) and Mori being a slut.  Content warnings: mention of dick but mostly just lead up to being physical.
“Sachie!” Mori growled, irritated but still grinning, at having caught her- yet again with her hands in the position to deliver another kancho attack.  “I told you what would happen if you kept trying to stab me in the ass-”
Sachie backed out of his reach, smirking mischievously.  “You talk a lot.”
Mori laughed lowly and then lunged, ducking down low to put his shoulder to Sachie’s stomach and then straighten out to lift her right off her feet.  She squealed and kicked, laughing hysterically but still struggling to most of her ability.  Mori, however, wasn’t just strong anyway through strenuous drumming and lots of freerunning, he was a demon and that meant his manhandling skills were top notch.
“Put me down, asshole!” she laughed, squealing loudly when he lifted his hands to drag fingertips over her vulnerable sides.
“Nah,” he responded calmly, slowly lifting her higher until he was literally just holding her over his head by the hips.  His arms were tense, the musculature under his tattooed flesh knotting tightly with the exertion even as she picked up her frantic squealing at what was about to happen.
“MORI DON’T YOU DARE!!” she shouted, gripping his wrists and flailing mightily.
He threw her down on the bed, all but suplexing her into the mattress and sending several pillows flying away and knocking over a half drunk glass of something on the nightstand.  He was braced on top of her a second later, grinning a little teasingly as the edge of his tongue stuck out in playful mockery.  He shifted so that his hips were over her face and he laughed crudely at the annoyed noise she made at his juvenile antics.  “You wanna touch my ass so bad, how about you touch my dick instead first.”
He dipped down a little bit, laughing again when she grabbed his pockets to keep him from pressing his bulge to her face.  “You gross-” she grunted, shoving hard enough to nearly unseat him. “Nasty-” Still, Mori knew he could push a little given she was trying her hardest not to laugh at him and rough housing was just a part of their normal antics.  He grabbed one of her hands and pressed it to the fly of his shredded jeans.  “C’mon Sachie, you wanted this,” he teased, his nose crinkling slightly more as his smile widened.
She fumbled for a second, trying to swipe some loose hair out of her eyes.  “Fine,” she snapped. “But don’t say I never give it up for you.”
Mori made a very taunting ah ah ah noise.  “This is me treating you!”
She unzipped his fly and Mori helpfully hooked a thumb in the band of his boxers, shoving them down and freeing his hard, tattooed cock.
“I’m literally never going to get used to you having a shrimp tattooed on your dick,” Sachie quipped with some dispassion.
Mori huffed.  “It’s cute.”
“HOW is it cute?  Like, your exes probably call you shrimp dick.”
“They probably call me worse than that,” he shrugged.  “It’s cute because as two people who speak Japanese in a city full of monoglots, I get to prompt you to say my favorite thing.”
Sachie rolled her eyes but her cheeks went crimson and Mori crooned teasingly.  “C’mon,” he weaseled.  “C’mon baby, say it for me.”
Really goddamn him because she definitely wanted to deny him but he was practically vibrating with delight. “Ita… itadakimasu, okay? God.”
Mori downright giggled, his Chaotic Bastard Smile only growing wider and he canted his hips down more and Sachie had the presence of mind to grind her thumbs into the sensitive dips of his hips hard enough to make him jolt in revenge.

Sindria's Prophet Ch04
[01] [02] [03]
After forcing myself to meditate on it all night I accepted something important: I'm actually a part of this world now. I wasn't going to stand back anymore.
Morgiana rushed past me on my way to check on Aladdin. Sure enough, Alibaba had already left Aladdin's side to start the coup. It was impossible to help Alibaba now. Hopefully, telling Sinbad everything would make up the difference.
Tumblr media
I took a deep breath and knocked on the door to Sinbad' meeting room. I was let in and saw him sitting while both of his generals stood.
The current came in with me.
Sinbad tried to say something swave, but I ignored it. This was no time for flirting.
I got straight to the point. "As soon as your allies get here, you need to head to the palace with them. Alibaba has stormed the palace." I could see the growing understanding on Sinbad's face. "He will defeat the man that turned into the elephant monster the other night while Morgiana holds off everyone else. Once in the throne room, Alibaba will win over all of the guards there, and the coup will be successful. However, the Kou Princess will appear, and Alibaba will need your support. Do not take the stage from him. Alibaba won't give an inch to the Princess." I hesitated for a moment. "Cassim isn't going to like that Alibaba succeeded without him. He and a portion of the remaining fog troop are going to fight anyway."
Since I was watching Sinbad I got to see his eyes widen. It was like I got to see the moment my wave hit him. Fate was beginning to change.
"Mori." Sinbad sounded serious yet almost soft. "Why are you telling me this now? Didn't you say that this has to happen a certain way so that they can help in the future?"
He didn't shake my resolve.
"How can I stand back and do nothing when I can help people? This isn't just a fate I'm reading anymore. And," I placed one hand on my chest and the other on the table, "I should have never considered dirtying my hands for the sake of the future. A world built through blood will always require more blood to maintain it, and that isn't the type of world I want to live in." This is a world where all atrocities truly originate from some evil organization and not just normal human fault, failing, and greed. This is a world where if enough people want something, then the Great Flow of the Rukh will help make it happen.
News of Alibaba's actions would reach us soon. There was more I had to tell them before that happened. "Before Aladdin wakes up today, his condition will get worse. He might even look dead, but he isn't." I looked at the generals. "You'll be able to do more good if you go to the streets then if you watch over him here."
I looked back at Sinbad. "When Cassim arrives try to evacuate as many people as possible. Those fog swords are black metal vessels," Sinbad stood in shock and I kept talking, "that work as one, and when Cassim realizes that the people side with Alibaba he's going to use it to become a dark Djinn. Judar will show up to fight, then Aladdin will arrive after waking. When Aladdin gets there he'll direct you to where you can meet the thieves that have your metal vessels. Then he will help Alibaba save his friend." I put more of my weight on the table. "I don't know if telling you now will actually be able to change things but I realized I had to try."
Behind me, Ja'far asked, "Are you sure you aren't leaving anything out this time?” with a slightly aggressive tone. I knew he didn't trust me, but still.
I removed my hand from the table. I started recounting the events on my fingers like a time line. ”Ah! An organization member will be supporting Cassim, the fog troop, and Judar. He will be floating over the city once they enter. Banker will pop from giving all of his magoi to him -leaving only his doll behind. The 3 of you will take him out as soon as King Sinbad gets his metal vessels back." The anime made it the same man that would attack during the Sindria arc, but in the manga it was a different person. I didn't know which one this would follow so I didn't want to say anything else on that.
I curled one hand and touched it to my lip. "I think that's everything...?" My eyes drifted down and unfocused as I tried to think of what I was missing. There had to be something.
A hand gripped my shoulder. Sinbad was smiling down at me. I had missed when he walked around the table. "Thank you. With this we will be able to prevent more casualties."
I didn't want his thanks. People were still going to get hurt because I didn't say anything soon enough -including him. "Is there anything else I can do to help?" I asked, not looking at him.
"Hmm." The silence while he calculated his answer felt like an eternity. Sinbad removed his hand from my shoulder. "Watch over Aladdin until he wakes up."
That was a really nice way to say that I needed to stay out of trouble.
"Okay."
After that, the three went to wait for their allies, and I went back to take care of Aladdin.
---
It didn't take long to start hearing tells of Alibaba's battle to the throne room and growing support outside the palace. More people hurried there to see the change happening in their country.
Aladdin was fine -well he would be fine soon enough.
I kept checking out the window for news.
Fear clenched my muscles into knots. How could I just be standing around where it was safe when I knew what was coming? I tried to tell myself that I had done my part by telling them everything that morning. But it didn't feel like enough.
I felt a wave come from the sleeping Magi and a light burst out of him. No doubt Ugo was summoning Aladdin and Judar's Rukh -at least trying to.
More and more people flocked towards the palace to hear of the outcome. There was no way to stop human curiosity, and of course, the results would affect the rest of their lives.
Things went quiet outside. I hoped that the negotiations were going as well as they did in the original. And hopefully, Sinbad would still be impressed by Alibaba's decision, and actions.
And then I saw that dreaded procession out the window. The fog troop was coming with Cassim at it's helm.
There was a lot black Rukh around the fog troop and even more being summoned by the dark magician in the sky, so much so that I could see it just as much as I could feel its waves.
I turned away from the window.
In stories, characters are always forced to watch when someone risks their life, or people die due to their decisions. The stories seemed to say it was the more honorable or noble thing to do. But I wasn't about to traumatize myself more than I already was for the sake of noble aesthetics. I only had about five years left to try to change the ending -less if I wanted to prevent it completely- and I'd need to limit my traumatic experiences if I was going to have a chance of achieving any of it.
I had to accept there wasn't anything I could do. The little bit of self defense I had learned growing up, and the little bit of fighting I had learned as a reenactor wouldn't mean shit compared to people with real life experience. Even with magoi manipulation I knew I wouldn't be able to do anything.
But how was that possible? I knew what was happening. I had read and watched this world's story many times. There had to be something I could do besides wait for it to be over.
'The metal vessels.'
I had told Sinbad that Aladdin would direct him to the thieves after he woke up, but I actually knew where they were headed. When Aladdin's Ruhk gets summoned there's a shot of it from the SML brothers' perspective. I could use that to find them and get the metal vessels to Sinbad faster.
I had something I could do!
I apologized to everyone else watching over Aladdin and left. Running in flip-flops wasn't the easiest, but I didn't have a choice.
Eyes followed me as I ran in the opposite direction that everyone else was going.
I looked back periodically trying to find a view that matched the shot in the original. I hadn't walked the streets much, but I had the waves. The Great Flow of the Rukh had to be listening to everyone's wishes. If I could get Sinbad his metal vessels then the suffering would be over faster. The Rukh would understand that, and hopefully guide me.
Thanks to being small I was able to run between carts and through other small openings to get around people easier.
The fog troop would set the city on fire. I had to reach the brothers before that. I felt the pull of the waves towards an alley and took it. There were less people there so it was easier to move.
I could feel my asthma acting up from running.
Tumblr media
When I got to the end of the alley, I made a left hand turn between 2 buildings. The Great Flow was on my side. The SML Brothers were right in front of me.
"HEY!!"
The three turned to my call.
That yell left me gasping after all the running I had done. I needed to exercise more. My left hand was on the nearest wall for support.
"Is that girl okay?" I think it was the L brother that said it by the lisp.
One of the reasons I had been taught meditation from a young age was to help with my breathing problems -my family couldn't always afford an inhaler. Ten seconds. I could stop my lungs from panicking in ten seconds. I forced myself to stop trying to breathe, and held my breath. I felt my lungs adjust and calm down. I broke the cycle. After holding for as long as I could I took in a slow ragged breath. I could work with this.
"Are you okay?" That was the M brother.
My voice was weak, but I managed to force out, "Metal vessels."
The L brother was on my side at least. "Then these really are his metal vessels?"
I nodded. My breathing was getting easier. "He can stop this," I gasped, "if he has them." Somehow they could tell what and who I was talking about.
"Do you know where he is right now?" The M brother asked.
I nodded again. "The palace. Go ... without me." I realized it was going to take me too long to fully catch my breath.
The brothers exchanged looks. Then the S and M brothers played rock paper scissors.
'????’
The M brother won and the S groaned in defeat.
S handed me the metal vessels he was holding -Baal, Furfur and Valefor.
"Huh????” The vessels were heavy -especially since I was so exhausted.
The brothers hadn't wrapped the metal vessels up yet. I was definitely going to get them to Sinbad earlier than in the original.
S reluctantly took the bag off of M's back. M then faced away from me and crouched. "Let me carry you."
"Huh??” was still all I could say.
"You need to go there too, right?" He was offering a piggyback ride.
"I-" I wasn't expecting this at all. I really wanted to go, and if they were really willing to help me- I nodded.
Valefor and Furfur were in necklaces, and Baal was in a sword. As rude as it would be, I knew I wouldn't be able to get them to Sinbad if I carried them normally. I whispered an apology to them and put them on so I wouldn't have to worry about dropping them -this got me looks from the Brothers who didn't dare wear them. I did still have to hold the bulk of Furfur; it was a necklace that reached it's owner's waist so of course it was much lower on me. The sword's belt cord was too big for me too so I had it over my shoulder like a bag instead of around my waist. Then I climbed on M's backs and we got going.
Even with everything they were carrying -including me- weighing them down, we were able to make decent time. We made it back to where I had started in about the same time it had taken me to find them.
I could see the Palace easily. We were almost there. The waves got bigger the closer we got.
A sound pierced through me to my bones. I couldn't see the source, but I knew in my heart that it was the sound of Cassim becoming the dark Djinn.
The brothers stopped in shock.
"What the hell was that?!”
I hadn't managed to save Cassim. I had read online that in the original draft for Magi Cassim was supposed to live and later marry Kougyoku. Since I had finally started trying to change things, a part of me had wondered if that was a fate I was going to get to see in person -a fate where Cassim wouldn't just be another vilified minority in someone else's savior narrative.
Damnit! I hadn't managed to change anything.
"We can't stop yet," I gave M's clothes a tug to pull his attention. "Get me a little closer. I'll go in by myself."
"Okay! Okay!”
I heard the fighting before I could see it.
I could see the dark Djinn over the gates of the palace. A dark figure hovered in the sky next to the Djinn -Judar had arrived. There was black Rukh everywhere.
Was Aladdin awake yet?
Something was different. There seemed to be less people in the war zone then was in the manga or anime. Maybe they had managed to start evacuating before the fog troop attacked.
Less or not, people were bleeding out, and fighting for no good reason.
S looked over at me when we got close. "Are you really going in there?"
"I have to." I hopped off of M's back. I had a delivery to make. "You three look for King
Tumblr media
Sinbad's generals and give them the rest of his vessels."
I braced Baal against my chest, held up the bottom of Furfur, and started running for the palace.
I would be fine. I could feel it. I could see everyone's waves. I dodged through the fighting, and was able to disrupt a few people enough to shake their resolve in the fight.
I felt amazing. Being able to see the waves was like easy mode. No wonder Sinbad had such an inflated ego. I would need to self examine more often since I now had the same Boone.
Everything was going in my favor. I was beginning to get giddy.
A sharp pain cut through my stomach and limbs making me stumble. I recognized this pain. Back home I was the type that couldn't enter certain types of haunted locations because I could feel the pain of the ghosts trapped there. Hospitals and old battlefields were some of the worst. Some ghosts would attach themselves to me to leave their spot and I would be stuck with them until I could convince them to move on. It never stopped me from working as a historical reenactor, but it did limit the roles I could play.
Some of the black Rukh had landed on me. Somehow it hadn't occurred to me that I would experience the same affect with the Rukh. Was the only reason it hadn't hurt me so far because I was dealing with white Rukh? So now that it was the black Rukh of the fallen I was feeling the pain of those that couldn't rest.
The black Ruhk on me vanished. I couldn't tell if they entered me or if I just couldn't see them any more. The pain was still there, but it was muted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I made my way through the damaged gate into the palace where Sinbad and the others should be.
Judar was flinging his ice spears everywhere. His focus was on Alibaba so I slipped around the other side. This also meant that Sinbad was probably pinned to a wall with ice. I had Valefor with me -a Djinn that could control ice. Was this serendipity or the work of the Rukh? (Of course he could use any Djinn to break out.)
I kept myself hidden while I looked across the area for Sinbad. Since Alibaba was to the left, Sinbad would be to the right. He was in the same spot as the original with ice spikes in each of his limbs. He was bleeding and was obviously in pain.
After double checking that Judar was still focused on Alibaba I ran over to Sinbad.
"Mori?! How did-?? Don't you know how dangerous it is?!” Of course he was shocked and worried.
"I'm fine! I read the waves so I could avoid everything!” I started removing Valefor from my neck.
He was watching me dumb founded. "What did you just say?"
I could smell the blood, dirt and sweat on him. That was my fault. Sure, it was originally what was going to happen, but I could have stopped it if I had acted sooner. His pain was my fault.
I reached over his head to put Valefor on him. Our height difference was too big for that without getting up against him. I didn't have the luxury for personal space given the situation. I did what I had to, to return his metal vessel to him.
"SINBAD! I didn't say you could leave yet!!” was yelled down at us.
I looked up and behind me. Judar was hovering around the dark Djinn in the sky. It was like looking at death. The dark Djinn didn't feel natural -because it wasn't.
The fallen Magi had his wand raised -ice spears forming around him.
I could dodge, but Sinbad would get hit again. I felt like a deer in headlights only from indecision instead of fear.
The ice spears went flying.
I was surrounded by white. My body felt compressed.
The spears dug deep into the wall. I had to be having an out of body experience. I could see the wall from up high.
"That was close." Sinbad's voice came from right next to my ear. He had full body equipped Valefor, broke the ice and saved us both. Everything smelled of frost.
I was in the air.
His left arm was under my legs, and his right pressed me against his chest. I was an active fan of heights, but it was definitely reassuring to know I was secure. That being said, it would have been better if I didn't have undeniable proof that Sinbad was amazing at hugging -maybe I was just too touch starved.
Sinbad flew towards the top of the palace. "So, my Beautiful Prophet, what happens next?"
I looked in time to see Alibaba surrounded by flames flying through the air at Judar. I looked for Aladdin's light in the distance.
"Aladdin should get here soon."
As if on cue, the Rukh surrounding Aladdin practically lit up the sky.
I heard a gasp escape him. With a serious tone he continued, "You said that Aladdin was supposed to direct me to the thieves, but you brought my metal vessels instead." His eyes followed the Magi. "Is it safe to assume then that they've got everything under control here?"
I watched Aladdin's reunion with Alibaba as I answered. "Yes." I looked out across the city. "See that figure up by the clouds? Next: you use Bararaq Saiqa from one of the islands to take out the remaining shadow in this country. Then everything will be over."
Sinbad's right arm pressed me back against his chest. "Then let's go finish this!”

I was worried this fandom was dead since the series ended years ago. I'm grateful for the likes and pms I've gotten. They made me excited to work more on this :D))
((tumblr image compression kills me, but I have to accept it;;;
Also, idk how long each chapter takes to write and draw yet. When I posted ch01 I had through to ch04 written out. I have a wip for the written of ch05. I'll probably only be posting chapters once a month if I don't cut down on the number of images per chapter...
